Came in without a booking and got seated straight away. The staff are friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. We ordered for starters the samosa chaat, masala fish (500g) and chops. The food came out really quick, within five minutes actually which makes me wonder that most of the stuff has to be half cooked before hand and finished off when an order comes through. But to be fair they tasted nice. Then for mains we ordered chicken biryani chicken karahi and tarka daal with plain naan and cheese naan. The naans were nice and soft. The chicken karahi was good, and the daal was ok, not full of flavour however the biryani was cold. It was a let down to be honest. We ordered the Lahore, Delhi and goa mocktails which we enjoyed, and have to say was the best part of the meal. Would I come back, probably not as there are lot more places that serve better quality food. However the service was good so the get a few extra brownie points.

Ramadan Iftari
So I am business traveller and also a keen foodie as are my family. I was up in Leeds on business and rather than eat in the chain restaurants near the centre I took a lovely fifteen minute walk. The walk alone is something to savour, taking you through the redeveloped industrial buildings that still give you a rich sense of history. The restaurant itself is set along the side of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Lovely! The restaurant is excellent, they didn't mind I was a single diner (some restaurants leave you next to the kitchen or toilets but not here). It was Ramadan and I was there at iftari. They provided complementary dates and fruits. The vibe was very Middle Eastern almost as if I was in a resort on holiday. I ordered a variety of starters and they have a great range and some special dishes. Do give the chicken liver and the chaat dishes a go. This is unique for an Asian restaurant, very much north Indian and Pakistani food. It's authentic quality not like many restaurants run by Bangladeshis that give you a generic sauce and disguise the quality of their ingredients. You don't come here to eat popodoms that makes you thirsty to buy lots of alcohol. This is all about the food,
I was satisfied but not bloated. I recommend the pink kashmiri tea instead of a desert. A nice finisher. Worth coming to Leeds just for this restaurant. Forgot to mention the price. I'm gym London and this was literally half the cost of what I would pay in London. Even Gordon Ramsey would approve.

I must admit Excellent restaurant experience with Mumtaz Leeds, UK lastnight from start to end. Beautiful scenery at the restaurant which is located at Leeds Docks. We had to wait for a bit as they were buzy and we didn't book. Anyways, the most important thing was the food was very delicious, we ordered the Thaal and also the Lamb Leg. Very Authentic & Traditional Pakistani Cuisine, the food was cooked just right (Make sure you try there Chicken & Lamb Karahi). Also the atmosphere was amazing and it was just the perfect restaurant food night out with Top notch service. If you ever visit Leeds make sure to visit Mumtaz Leeds and again thanks guys keep up the good work.👌

We were visiting Leeds for the day, and decided to eat here, based upon previous reviews. Whilst the location. Decor and overall ambience was amazing. The food could have been better. We ordered chicken karai, Palak paneer and tadka dhaal. The chicken dish was tasty, however the vegetarian dishes were quite bland to be honest. Prices were a little on the expensive side, however, looking at the location I'm sure the overheads are just. Service was very good and cant fault it.

Food presentation was great, the venue is awesome. Some very lovely touches for a premier experience.

A great experience for my birthday.
Would highly recommend for special events.
Thank you for making my day.

My regular spot, excellent food. The only thing I struggle with is waiting to be fair on weekends. The Pilau rice is not the best also, has too many seeds, I couldn’t enjoy it, but the curry with boiled rice is good. Lamb chops are good as well. I like Sunset in Goa juice.

The place is absolutely stunning, all the tables and decor are definitely a sight to see. As you enter there's fun places to take pictures while you wait to be seated. The service was great, we were served out food within 10 mins of ordering although is wasn't too busy. The food was ok, nothing to shout about, and it did leave a little to be desired. Overall I would say it was a good experience.

Top notch service, best curry place in town
If you ever visit Leeds make sure to visit Mumtaz Leeds. Its is just across The Royal Armouries Museum and very near the Corn Exchange. Imran waited on us. He went above and beyond and made us feel at home. Although our table had a two hour reservation, we did not feel rushed at all. I had fish curry with mushroom rice, green tea with a small baklava. I had garlic naan as well. All very delicious and reasonably priced! My husband and in laws had chicken pakora, curried paneer, chicken korma and king prawn curry. All very tasty! A very good end to a lovely evening.

Absolutely pure and original as it should be! Guaranteed return, lovely staff, lovely place, lovely food! And extremely cheap in terms of price-quality ratio! Definitely a must hit place in Leeds!
