Father's Day treat and found the Agora on TripAdvisor. Lunch for two, three courses, coffee and drinks for a very reasonable £60. Decor is light and airy, staff attentive and friendly, excellent range of gluten free options with special symbol on the large menu. We had starters of Sujuk and a Spicy Liver (not pictured). Both delicious and packed with flavour. For mains, Beef Stifado, a chunky beef stew served with rice, and a Sea Bass with spinach and feta. Both excellent. All washed down with legendary Mythos Greek lagers. Turkish coffee served on silver tray with Turkish Delight on the side was a lovely touch.

My wife and I came for dinner and the atmosphere was great and the staff were helpful and professional. The food came quickly, we had the two course al carte menu. The lamb keftedes starter was okay, a bit bland but the sea bass fillets were delicious and saved the meal for me. My wife thought her Feta and olives were tasty. Would eat here again for the atmosphere and the main courses we had.

Usually very impressed but at the last visit the restaurant was COLD and some of our ladies were keen to leave to get warm as soon as we had finished. The lamb on my mixed souvlaki was flaversome but tough and had fat. Maybe a bad choice as other guests food seemed ok. Baklava dessert was nice but minimal portion. At £19 for 2 courses no longer 'good value' bearing in mind the above comments

Have been here a couple of times and the food is totally out of this world! The taste and flavours are truly amazing... its reasonably priced for the standard of food and the staff are also great! So welcoming and friendly nothing is too much or too little! I recommend here to everyone for parties, family events or just as a meal out!

We visited the Agora for dinner to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary and tbh the full dining experience was faultless. Warm welcome on arrival. G&T and a Mythos whilst we perused the menu which is pretty expensive. We settled for the hot mezze sharing starter & bread and then followed up with our mains of Govic ( slow cooked beef pieces in a fabulous sauce ) and meat balls , both dishes were accompanied with rice and vegetables and both were spot on ... really that good but the beef was the best. We had no space for deserts so finished off dinner with some cracking coffee. The waitresses were lovely and the manager / owner a real gent. I do say though that full credit should go to the kitchen staff as they absolutely smashed it !! Absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Agora and can't wait to dine here again.

The food at the Agora is amazing. It's a great price throughout the week as most things are included in the two course deal (some things incur an additional charge, but are totally worth it - specifically the fruity Lamb). It can get busy so food can take a little bit to arrive, but they don't rush you. So it's pretty relaxed.

Absolutely fantastic. Great service (not booked, on a Friday evening), incredible food. The hot Meze starter (pictured) was stunning, as was the Souvlaki, and the Chicken Sucuk was delicious. Didn't need desserts, but both the tiramisu (pictured) and the baklava were fantastic. Will definitely be visiting again - so many dishes we want to try!

Absolutely superb meal and experience. We will be back. We shared a hot meze starter and my wife had mixed souvlaki and I the Kleftiko and it was all exceptional. The place is very nicely done inside and relaxed, the staff friendly and nicely attentive and there is plenty of space to park. We have tried several Mediterranean restaurants around here and this is by far the best we have found. What a find!

Absolutely top notch!! The food was excellent the staff were really friendly. There was a lady I was talking to who's from Istanbul I didn't catch her name but I'm pretty sure she was one of the owners she was so lovely, she was telling us they were a little short staffed but you wouldn't have thought so it was really busy but everything came out quickly and cooked to perfection!! Would definitely recommend this place without a doubt. We will definitely be returning that's for sure. Brilliant evening. Thank you 😊

Had the pleasure of dining last night at the Agora restaurant in Horsforth again. What an amazing dining experience from start to finish. The hospitality is absolutely second to none. The team are always so welcoming and so truly genuine and take the time to speak to their customers. The food was delightful, from the hot meze to start with, to the recommendation on the lamb kleftiko and beef stifado, all which were divine. Once again thanks for a lovely evening and keep up the fantastic work as you all do an incredible job.

A fantastic Greek restaurant. The 2 course deal before 5pm for 15.50 is really good value as most mains alone are about the price of the deal. Great choice of starters and mains cooked perfectly and so delicious. A shame that there is no sorbet for desert as that means little pudding choice for people with dairy intolerance. The staff are friendly with a gentle sense of humour. We've been here several times but at first didn't notice the car park which is tucked away behind the restaurant but surprisingly is a good size.

Starter was lovely (Hot Meze for two) Main was alright but would have liked to have seen a higher souvlaki to boiled rice ratio... intact this let it down as boiled rice is boring AF and completely overwhelmed the crown jewel of the piece which was the Chicken! Dessert: The baklava was lovely but the ice-cream accompanying was a little lacking. Under £70 for 2 of us plus a couple of drinks each which was totally acceptable. Definitely worth the visit.

A wonderful Turkish / Greek restaurant in Horsforth. Food cooked to perfection, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. If I could give the Agora 4.8 instead of 5, I would. The trend away from soft furnishings and the bare decor makes the acoustics rather harsh in this former pub, which is a great pity as everything else is absolutely perfect.

We went for food here as a whim for a date night. We saw some great reviews on trip advisor and thought to give it a try. The food massively lived up to expectation and massively feels the Greek vibe with being really family orientated. We ordered lamb and stifado with the mixed starter and all the food was delicious. The waiters were very attentive, always asking people if they wanted more drinks when their drinks were empty and gave us time between courses to sit and chat. Would highly recommend.

Excellent from start to finish! We called in on the off chance that they might have space for my family of four, having not been before we didn't know what to expect, but from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left they were very attentive, polite and friendly. The restaurant was not too busy when we arrived, but soon filled up, giving a great atmosphere, the staff, both in the kitchen and at the tables seemed to cope admirably with the influx of diners. Perhaps the only difficulty for us was choosing what have have from the extensive menu, but everything we did have was delicious, perfectly cooked and very well presented! Just so relaxing. The place was reasonably busy for a Sunday evening at 7:30. We received a warm welcome at the door, there was an equally welcoming atmosphere as we were taken to our table. There was a mixture of ages which was good to see. I was with my daughter who is 25, she really enjoyed it too. The tables were so well set out I didn't feel over close to the other diners. Food was excellent. We started with the cold mezze to share (they also did a hot one) the staff were just great. Thanks guys! Not over priced, fabulous clean loos. (Even the loos had atmosphere!) We have been unable to get our fix for greek food this year, for obvious reasons, but our visit to The Agora was just like being there. We would certainly recommend a visit.

We visited this delightful restaurant recently which is situated in the old "Horsforth Gentlemen's Club" premises. The service was excellent and the food amazing. Our friends commented on the wonderful value and authentic ingredients. I was particularly impressed with the Manager who looked after us personally throughout the evening. We will be back. We've driven past Agora more times than I'd like to count in that past twelve months so we eventually decided to give it a try for my partners Birthday. We had a decent sized party for the event and I can't fault the food or the service as both were amazing throughout. Everything turned up on time and was certainty freshly prepared. The Seafood starters in particular were cooked to perfection. Nothing was rubbery as you'd sometimes get with Prawns, Muscles and Calamari from other venues. The mains were also exceptionally well done and full of flavour. Again nothing was too dry or over cooked all the meat was tender and moist. The only thing that knocked the full five stars was the Birthday surprise. I'd asked for something in the desert course to be done as you do and although my partner didn't order a desert something as simple as ice cream could have been given. Unfortunately they presented her with the surprise but in the form of someone else's desert. Yeah nothing like getting a Birthday surprise desert to then give it too someone else. Thankfully the rest of the evening more than made up for that minor blemish. Can't wait to go back when it's just the two of us.

This was the 1st time I had been to the Agora. My wife is Greek and we tend to avoid Greek restaurants as they are usually disappointing. This was booked for my sisters 40th, and I can say that the food was incredible! I had the Kleftiko. And this was nicer than I have had in Greece! Absolutely beautiful. The lamb fell off the bone and was so moist and tasty. We will definitely be coming back many more times and recommending to everyone. To top it off, the staff were very welcoming and super friendly and catered to our every need! When the food is this good, you don't mind paying the money for it!

I've eaten here a few times and the food is always of good quality served by friendly and enthusiastic staff that look like they enjoy what they do. The prices are reasonable and the quality of food including serving size is good for the money. There is a good range of drinks available from bottle of bubbly to draught Effes beer on tap. The Mezz is a really good choice if you are after a flavour of everything but some of the individual meals are really tasty if you don't fancy sharing. I can also recommended the Baklava for desert, so make sure you save room. It's worth mentioning that there is a large car park around the back of the restaurant so there is no need to panic of the on road parking is full. A fair priced resteraunt that offers you a varied menu with vegetarian options, Greek wines & beers as well as the standard spirits. I really would give it a go I'm sure only the cereal complainers wouldn't like it & they should just stay at home anyway.
