Been meaning to go here since it opened years ago but never got round to it. Finally went for our anniversary and got to say it was pretty disappointing. Yea the building is lovely and we sat outside as the weather was nice. However, it is a bar and grill so I would expect the steak to be amazing and cooked properly. I had the rib eye and always have it medium rare. As you can see from the picture it came out at least medium with some other parts even well done. The restaurant was very quiet so no excuse there and they did offer to cook it again but that would mean that I would be eating after my wife or she would have to wait. They did give us a free drink but again this is a steak restaurant so I would expect them to be able to cook the steak correct. Disappointing after waiting so long to go and probably will not go back.

This place is brilliant! The cook to perfection, everytime I have been I can't fault it not one bit. It was mother days and they were fully booked and they still accommodated us. Definelty will be here again lovely restaurant lovely staff! Thank you!

Very rich and tasteful, the food was superb quality everything you ate was fantastic. The gravey was full of flavour and the sweet chilli was fantastic. Steak cooked perfectly I had medium and the chips were lovely also. Service was good, very attentative and knowledgeable. Ambience is very warm and inviting, its a great setting and provided a throughly great evening.

Good food, amazing service! Had a business meal at 1573 Bar & Grill because my friend recommended it, not because of steaks as I'm vegetarian, but because of variaty of food they have. Was not disappointed, they have some decent vegetarian options and really good quality salmon. Really nice building with lot of history and realy nice atmosphere. Service was excellent! Staff friendly and professional! I will come back! Highly recommended the Salmon!

Great place to eat with friends....have been half a dozen times, at least, either as an organiser or by invite. Very pleasant and comfortable, with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff always welcoming and helpful... attentive but not intrusive.... gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal....food, as always, up to standard... had succulent chicken and medium rare sirloin (two visits in one week) both perfect!

Two course seafood or steak meal for 2 persons with a hot drink (tea or coffee) advertised on Groupon for £27.50. I purchased this voucher with groupons flash sale; 20% off local deals, bringing the total cost down to only £22!!! Bear in mind the voucher cannot be used on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays. We chose Garlic King Prawns starter and Rib Eye Steak main @ £2 surcharge and £1.95 per sauce. The restaurant had a classy atmospheric feel, well decorated and the customer service was spot on. Parking is available at the Highcross and this is a great restaurant for couples. Would definitely visit again.

Went here for a work meal, I don't drink and chose vegetarian options and I still really enjoyed myself. The staff were very friendly and the food was nice, only problem was receiving different food to what we ordered and being told what we want isn't available but the great taste made up for it anyway. We sat upstairs and the fairy lights created a cosy atmosphere.

Great food and great service! Celebrated a birthday with a large group so we had to pre order our food from a set menu. For my main I had the 8oz fillet medium, it was cooked to perfection, decent portion of chips and with the creamy peppercorn sauce made this one of the best steak meals I've had. Garlic bread starter was good, the chocolate cake with amaretto ice cream was delicious. The service was on point, i cannot recommend this place enough! Park in the John Lewis car Park after 5pm as it's a short walk and only £2.50

I used a Groupon voucher for two course meal with a hot drink for 2. We where greeted by friendly staff and our order was taken. We had brie and cranberry and plaice goujons for starters and 8 oz sirloin steaks for mains. We added mushroom Diane sauce to the steaks and it was delicious. We ordered drinks to have during the meal and finished off with an americano coffee. The staff asked if everything was OK with our meals and where very pleasant. I would go here again it had a lovely atmosphere and decor

I’ll start this by saying the food is so good that literally gave up being a vegan (6 years!) and had a steak here - that’s how good it was. And it was absolutely amazing, the staff were fantastic and service was really good, i really cannot recommend this place enough. In general it was a good experience. the staff are extremely pleasant and fun. the food is good looking and looks fresh. a bit overpriced and Sunday lunch menu wasn't available around 4:00 PM. I think I'll go again to dine in and see it from the inside. 3/5 is a bit harsh but to give place for improvement in terms of menu diversity and availability

Went with partner last night for a date meal,havent been in a while and have always rated 1573 highly and everything was great from starter, main too desert. Cocktails were amazing aswell and especially as they was 2 for 1. Whole meal cost just over £90 which for 3 courses and 3 cocktails each we was pleasantly suprised.

Very nice steak! The place itself was nice and seemed a bit historic. The three stars are purely for the food as the service was none existent. We had to ask for drinks and it was not the easiest task to get a member of staff's attention. Food arrived nice and warm and there is a good selection of food available. Highly recommend a visit purely for the steaks only.

We came here for our anniversary. The steak was good, but the chefs had the classic problems of a mostly-meat menu - the recipes for the vegetarian dishes were bland and flavourless. Went on a Thursday evening. Got in without booking. Pleasant atmosphere and lots if attentive friendly staff, especially the young lady with glasses. Decent menu with lots of choice, different from all the high street chain restaurants. Main course was slow to arrive but waitress did apologise. Got dessert I can totally recommend the treacle spong and custard, delicious. We can't wait to go again to try some more dishes.

Went here with work for a lovely meal. There were 15 of us and they managed to get all of our food out at the same time (starters and mains separately). They were very accommodating of my allergies, ensuring that all of my food was dairy free :) I had the mixed grill and I have to say the steak was amazing. Everyone who had steak agreed it was delicious. Only issue I had is that they cleared my plate while I was still eating. I still had a full piece of garlic bread in my hand and they just removed the plate, which I thought was a tad rude. Otherwise I couldn't fault the meal

If you want a good steak then look no further with some of the best cut and cooked steaks iv ever had. Quality beats quantity with how big the place is but for the price you get more than you pay for with large portions with mouthfuls of flavour. Went for the fixed price Sunday lunch menu. Whilst there was a good choice it was uninspiring. We then saw that ice cream or cream with your dessert was an extra 99p - really? I'm surprised they didn't try and charge for the veg as well... At the end of the day was no better than the local chain pub.

The food here is good, but it isn't that cheap. Service is OK and food is brought in a decent time. Be aware that if you cannot manage stairs you will need to specifically ask for a table downstairs as there is no lift. This is the second time I've been and this time it was better as regards to the paying of the bill, but when a large party of us went last Christmas and they said they could take out orders and provide separate totals for us, as we were paying separately, they failed miserably on this and we ended up with some being greatly overcharged. It took them ages to sort it out as none of the staff could add up and it took the manager to eventually rectify it after approximately half an hour of different staff trying and failing to do it. So if you're planning a trip there with a large group I would suggest you reckon the bill up yourself and tell each person /couple what they owe and don't leave it to the staff to sort it. Apparently they can't supply separate bills, so a party of 18 or so will be struggling, but it's easier if you only have 5 or 6 in your party. Apart from that and the lack of a lift for disabled customers, it was good and the food is really nice.
