Great Indian restaurant in the heart of Leicester. Vegetarian and vegan food. Great food. Has a wide range of food. You can ask the level of spicy that you want. Also has very nice desserts that you can even order for take away. Very nice decoration . Long history restaurant, nearly 40 years. Medium low price. Ideal for going on a date, with friends or with family.

One of the best places for vegetarian food in Leicester, I loved the wide range of choices on the menu. Just look how delicious the photos below look. My favourite was the samosa chaat, which they brought out quickly. I enjoyed this meal very much and hope to come back soon

We have been ordering takeaway from here for years. Nice authentic flavours and it's one of the few restaurants that doesn't ruin it's dishes with copious amounts of chilli. They always seem to get it just right! Our favourites are the chilli paneer, Hakka noodles and bobby's special chaat!

We ate like Kings. Get the Special Thali! Very tasty and was exactly what I was missing due to not being able to get to gam. Very friendly and helpful staff. We came on a busy Saturday at 2pm and they managed to squeeze us in. Very busy place so be mindful, if there is a wait time it is definitely worth it.

I live in Leicester and would generally recommend the food at Bobby’s to most visitors - however there are some improvements required. The staff initially seemed a little abrupt I would say even a little impatient/rude. Following which when we placed our order half the food arrived and after 10/15 minutes there was still no sign of the remaining food. Meaning half our party was watching their food go cold whilst the other half were sat waiting for their food to arrive. I ask 3 waiters what was going on before I finally got an explanation, apology and some action. Less than 10 minutes later the food arrived. After which the staff were nothing less that absolutely accommodating. They were attentive and even offered us a sweet and extra side on the house to make up for the delay in our food arriving. The food here is actually really tasty and the price is also reasonable. I would recommend visiting here, I would just say if you are not happy with the service - say so - and the staff will take the feedback on board and change it. I think that is the main thing - they try to change things and make their customer service better.

Good as always. Refurb has made the place brighter. Excellent aubergine stir-fry but where is the rest of my portion?. Crispy Bhajiya were a bit dry. Masala Tea was a let down - weak and from a packet. Standards slipping slightly - Come on Dharmesh please sort this out.

Rainy afternoon late lunch. Dosa was crispy with good filling. Okra and peri peri paneer were tasty, really enjoyed the Sambharo pickled cabbage but we’d give the bland millet bread Rotla a miss next time. Service a little spotty but staff were nice. This place has been going an unbelievable 50+ years. I've only known it for the last 25. If I go to Leicester, I go to Bobby's. Recently refurbished (again) it is a light airy space, serving the best of Indian vegetarian food. I'm not a veggy, nor are my children or grandchildren, but we all love Bobby's .

We came in the mid morning when it wasn't so busy to grab a small bite before hitting the shops on the Golden Mile. We love dhosa so obviously we ordered three plates plus some samosas and a sandwich. Unfortunately as we ordered the dhosa the griddle broke. The staff were happy to change the order but unfortunately the food still took an hour to come after we had sat down. Usually this would be grounds for me to leave a bad review, but the decor, the staff, and the food were good enough for us to overlook it. Not to mention the music, top tier playlist 👌🏾. The weather definitely helped, also. We went back later in the day to buy some sweets after our escapades and the griddle was working again and the place was packed. Really wished I had bought some of their mango lassi whilst I was there because it looked so fresh. The staff were generous to give us discounts on the food we had and the sweets a couple of hours later, which was a nice gesture. My advice would be to inform patrons as soon as they know that food will be unavailable as well as perhaps investing in more griddles as the dhosa seems to be very popular (two families sat and immediately left when the dhosa was off the menu, we probably should have as well, then when we returned there were at least 4 dhosa servings in the restaurant that I could count) for the restaurant capacity and the apparent popularity of the dish, two griddles seems insufficient in my humble opinion. Despite the somewhat mediocre experience I still hope to come back to try their dhosa when I'm next in Leicester!

My husband recommend this place whilst we were driving through Leicester. I saw the afternoon tea and immediately thought yes however we were told you have to pre order anyways we got the mumbai chip butty, pani puri, jeera mogo and potatoes paratha. The food is very good, defined nice favours , presented nicely and not oily at all. The customer service was second to none. Happy to help answers questions and get anything you need. Highly recommend.

One of the best all vegetarian restaurants in Leicester! This restaurant had extremely friendly staff and an amazing variety on the menu. The interior was really nice as well, very unique from many other Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Highly recommend getting the chaats, dahi puri, chilli cheese naan, paneer tikka masala and pick up some sweets from the deli on the way out!

A group of 4 went to Bobbys last night, for 3 of us it was our first time! After the meal we can safely say we will be returning for sure! Having travelled to Gujarat multiple I sometimes miss the more traditional food and this is amazing food! It has a homely authentic taste to it! And the price is amazing too! We order a few starters to share and then a few different mains between us and everyone of them looked and tasted great! The staff and service we received was amazing from start to finish! Great food, quick turnaround! As a recently converted vegan I was very impressed with the selection of food at Bobby's. The lentil gachori's were excellent as was the chilli mogo. We felt very well looked after and they were kind enough to check the food was dairy free. My only gripe was the toilet facility could have been cleaner. Other than that it was a great meal and would happily recommend Bobby's. We didn't try the dessert as most included milk powder or butter, however they did look tasty!

Ended up eating here as is one of the only places that has a baby change facility. Customer opened the door so that we could lift our baby's pram into the restaurant. Was a bit of a struggle. Place was a bit decadent and obviously set up for tourists. Had to go and find a waiter to order. Food took about 20 minutes to arrive. It was ok, nothing special. Decided to go and pay for the meal after the ordering debacle. Noticed that they added a £2.00 service charge. Probably because no one would tip the unhelpful/non existent staff. On the way out staff left me waiting again for my partner to come and help me open the door and lift our pram out of the building. Shocking customer service to be honest. I wouldn't bother going back here.

Me and my family have been coming here for over 20 years. I don't know a place better for traditional Indian food. They also offer a range of Indochinese dishes which are superb too! The Indian sweet desk is one of my favourites, they have a range of different milk/cream based sweets and also jalebi for those who don't take milk products. The staff are amazing, so accommodating and friendly and they remember a face so you'll always feel welcome! Overall Bobby's is in my top 5 for restaurants and would recommend everyone to go!

OMG WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT BOBBY'S. You probably won't believe this but my last time I visited this beautiful restaurant was back in 2002 it was an exceptional experience then and this time round Had another exceptional experience with my family. The hygiene of the place was a foot high standard and the food was just as brilliant as it was back when I visted in 2002 but to dig my teeth into the lovely food that was served before us was absolutely mind blowing. My wife had the SPECIAL THALI OF THE DAY which was so tasteful and explosive in style that I will remeber it. I personally had BOBBY'S SPECIAL CHAAT, BHEL PURI, PANI PURI AND DIMPLES SPECIAL MASALA DHOSA. The waitress MONIKA was so humble and tge Gentleman that also served us sorry that I didn't get his namr but if he reads this he will remember me and my family and my disabled son in his wheelchair he also was humble and great. Thank you agian to BOBBY'S LEICESTER BELGRAVE ROAD I will forever cherish my experience and will always keep you in my heart and I will never ever forget the experience that me and my wife and my family had at your lovely warm and amazing restaurant and I wish you all the best and see you agian very soon.

After searching for different caterers for our wedding, we chose to go for Bobby's. Our main reason for choosing Bobby's is their attention to detail, and their personal touch. Their customer service was excellent, always available when we called. They went the extra mile, and ensured we had no problems on the day. They took such good care of our guest, and the food was amazing. All our guest were so happy with the food. Even me, who is hard to please with food, was delighted with the food. It was truly amazing!

Really liked it, good prices and tasty food! I asked about vegan options and someone came out with very detailed knowledge of the menu and gave us suggestions of what we could eat. We had the bhaji platter which was really filling! I then had the Thali and could only manage about half of it I was so full. Would go again and recommend it to others.

The person who owns the restaurant said the main food will take time, which is fine, however the waiters could have come sooner to ask if we wanted a drink or some starters from the 'chaat' stand which actually come out very quick. I took my brother who has learning difficulties, front of house staff were very friendly and very accommodating especially Monica and Gaurang. I am giving 3 stars as the food took ages to come and using disposable plastic is unforgivable in my opinion. PLEASE STOP USING PLASTIC! We waited almost 20 mins for shrikhand which is a cold dish. You could see the front of house staff getting annoyed too. When it did come the food was very tasty. Thank you for the free kaju katri, it cheered my brother up a lot!

You can eat as much as you want but it's not like a buffet system, you have to order each item that you need extra from a staff and they will serve you in approx. 5 mins. They said its Gujarati Thali but some of the dishes were more of a Punjabi thali.

A fantastic place to eat if you like Gujarati food. We found it clean and the food to be exceptional value for money especially if you went for the buffet. The downstairs toilets were out of action so we had to go upstairs which was a problem as one of us is registered disabled and had difficulties with this. The toilets could have been cleaner.

And what a treat it was the food was amazing we started off with a special chaat , chilli paneer which where amazing the portions are huge great value for money .. for the mains we had thali we consisted of a mixture of curries rice dal let’s say enough variety. We held my mum-in-law’s surprise 70th Birthday party at Bobbys on 19th May 2019 and everything was just perfect including the venue. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. We invited around 70 people and the atmosphere the owners created was fabulous. Everyone had such a great time. We must say a big thank you to Enna, Dharmesh and their staff for making it such a perfect event for our mum and family.

We held our grans 80th birthday party here. The food was amazing, everything from the indo Chinese style food to the traditional indian food. The food was made fresh and hot. Would really recommend the chilli paneer and crispy aubergines! The service was amazing darmesh looked after us really well. They even gave a gift of mithai to my gran to wish her happy birthday. I had tasted the Masala Dhosa in most places in Leicester, so had to try Bobby's. I ordered a portion of Pani Puri and Chilli Chips to go with it. The seating etc was generally nice, the service was fast - but the portion size did not justify the cost. The Pani Puri in most places is served with the fillings inside, at Bobby's expect to get unopened Puri's with the mixture separately. The Masala Dhosa tasted nice with average size filling of potatoes etc but the daal with it was tasteless.

I have been going to Bobby's for many years, we even had our work celebrations there while I lived in Leicester. Mr Lakani was always such an inviting host and Mrs Lakani an amazing cook. Many years have past, and I happened to visit friends in Leicester, so I thought it would be a trip down memory lane to go for lunch at Bobby's. Mr Lakani has retired and his son has totally revamped the place, it is very nice and light but the food and the service are as good as in the "old days" I am happy to say. If you get the chance while on the golden Mile to visit, it is a must. We had a thali and it was fantastic! I would give it6 stars if that were possible.

Bobby's is an institution. A community hub. Generations of Leicesterites and people from all over the Midlands have revelled in the simple, homely and delicious Indian and particularly Gujarati East African vegetarian fare they have been dishing up since 1976. It is a no frills restaurant that is proud of its heritage and has a loyal fan base drawn from every ethnicity, though as a mark of its authenticity, is particularly popular among British Asians who eat there in droves. Bobby's does not seem to need to posh itself up and so can offer amazing food at economical value for money prices in a relaxed informal environment. Aware of its core clientelewho are cost conscious and can make the food Bobby's make at home but just want a treat, Bobby's offers the sane food as both sit down and the cheaper take-away. There is an extensive menu, staff are friendly, service is quick, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks though limited are avvailable and the restaurant and toilet are spotless. We had a masala dosa which was ample and crisp filled with a delicious spicy potato mash and accompanied by lentil sambhar and onion/chilli chutney. We took home a large selection of sweets along with aloo gobi, channa masala, cassava mogo any baingan bharta (aubergine) which were devoured instantly by the family at home. Parking is available on street and in car parks nearby and the are is lovely if u want Asian stuff to buy. All in all we loved every minute and morsel and recommend Bobby's as a must do in Leicester. It has been years since I have eaten there and quality has been impeccably maintained and the restaurant now flags gluten free and vegan items showing that it is attentive to customer needs and is moving with the times. Will be back soon.

Been here many times so I have both good and bad experiences hence the middle rating, on the good side the takeaway foods (when fresh) are amazing like the batata wada, mogo chips etc and the elderly man that owns the place is very social and always giving tasters, on the downside the staff aren't the most quick or reliable, very elderly men so not such good customer service skills and sometimes forgetful memories once I waited about 45 mins for 20 of the potato balls (batata wada) which they said they would cook fresh as they didn't have enough, however they forgot my order and once realised just gave me the ones that were on the counter (made me wait for no reason).. Never sat inside to eat only take away but if you get there early there is everything you need
