Visited Chiquito a few weeks ago, was a nice experience. Staff were friendly and the food nice. I decided to try out a vegan option and went for the Banana Blossom burger, if anyone wants to try the vegan option then I'd recommend it.

Much quieter here than some of the neighbouring restaurants - we hopped in as Nando's had a ridiculous wait time. Food was great, service was good. There is a separate vegan menu, although a couple of things weren't available, the waiter did swap a couple of ingredients for me to have a nice meal.

We've been a few times and one visit (Saturday night), everything felt rushed and it was difficult to order additional drinks and you just had to feel for the staff. They never stopped. We've not been back on a Saturday night since. Every other time we've been (evenings and afternoons), the service has been without fault.

Went there for my birthday meal last weekend. Great friendly fast service despite it being busy. Couldn't fault the food. Good atmosphere too. The only fault was with my fella because he didn't want to buy and wear a sombrero and live a little! Spoilsport! 🤣

Amazing vegan meal, lovely staff and overall a great experience. I went for a meal with my partner yesterday as a last minute date night. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a lovely waiter who asked for our dietary requirements (we are both vegan) and sat us down with the right menus in front of us. Then a lovely young girl came and asked for our drink order. She nicely informed us that the drink my partner had ordered actually wasnt within his dietary requirement and asked if he was he sure he wanted it still. He was so grateful she informed him there and then so he could pick a drink that suits him. We cannot fault the service of waitress provided - she made sure we were happy with our food and added to the great experience we had at Chiquitos last night. Highly recommend!

It had been years since I last visited, but this time was a very good experience. The menu had changed from mainly just Mexican food and is now quite varied, you can still have Mexican food but if your not into that they now have other non Mexican food as well at a reasonable price. We were served very quickly and the food arrived promptly, plentiful and hot. The waitress was excellent, really polite, full of energy and witty. Am definitely going to go there again soon..

Went here for a first visit. Very good it was as well. Great service from the waiting staff, without being over the top. Excellent food choice and most of all it came out hot. My only criticism is that tge menu stated thst my dinner should come with corn(i presume on the cob), however nothing!. It was still good, much better than a well known chicken place at Fosse Park. We will be back, so get out tge corn, if it states on the menu then serve it or offer something else.

What can I say. Standards seem to have dropped in the last 2 years. Went for a date night meal and had a chicken chimichanga. There was no seasoning in this dish. You got a slight kick of chilli at times but this definitely needs some attention on flavours, I mentioned it to the server/team leader. He just shrugged his shoulders. The starters of the nachos! Disappointed. God knows what you put on this. Can you not just use normal cheese!? ?

I just ordered from deliveroo, from them the 1st time. No going to lie this is the 1st time I received such a really good portion size of nachos with lots of flavourful topping on top. BTW, the smell of the nachos was soo nice and it's rare for vegans like me to find such flavourful food and good portion sizes for such a good price. I had the vegan nachos, I totally forgot to take pictures before eating them, it had included extra vegan ice cream that came with the chocolate coconut lava dessert cake and the tomatoes, guacamole and vegan mayo for the nachos. I had other vegan nachos, this beats other places I've ordered from on deliveroo. The box show is literally filled with nachos and toppings but of course, I couldn't resist myself so you're seeing the almost-finished results of the food I had ordered. I had called the staff up regarding my food writing 'VG' on some of the packaging, the staff was really friendly and cheerful on the phone. I was actually quite surprised because I had called up restaurants before, regarding my food dietary they didn't seem to care-less about it. The pricing is not bad especially I ordered with extra 20% off my order from delieveroo. The vegan cake and the ice cream is slightly small and pricey for a small portion. But, as from my experience from what I had today, I definitely wouldn't mind ordering from here again :)

Nice place. Good selection of food and a lot of it looks tempting. I opted for the tacos and they were lovely. Don't be afraid of the spice - none of it is really hot, so go for a spicier level than you normally would elsewhere. The decoration and music are nice touches, as are the sombreros! Staff were friendly. Come here if you want to eat Mexican food, but it's not like you can go elsewhere! I can't think of anywhere else that sells half decent Mexican.

It does seem a hit and miss place. Previous visits have been better and been worse. This time it seemed mediocre, the portion sizes have decreased and the prices gone up. The quality was there in some of the food and other parts lacked the quality and attention. Our waiter only took our order, then we had several waitering staff afterwards. The sombreros... Are they a decoration? Or do you get to take them home or try them... As nice it is, they should prompt to try them on. Overall, there are better places in meridian.

Set up with the new rules in place were really good and staff were very helpful. The food was good especially the nachos, i would recommend that. If you like 'TexMex'- you should enjoy this. It's reasonably priced but not great quality. For example, I am pretty sure the chicken strips are from a freezer bag. I do like the setting and the staff have always been pretty good.

Chiquitos Leicester is absolutely fantastic. I don’t usually write reviews but had to given the amazing food and service. The food was delicious (highly recommend the tacos, sweet potato fries, garlic tortilla and churros!) and the cocktails are amazing too. I cannot rate the staff and food/drink highly enough. The manager John is just brilliant. Will definitely be back!!

We have visited the meridian Chiquitos a few times since the lockdown have been lifted and we are consistently impressed by our experience. The food has always been great, and we are always able to try something new. There really aren’t any comparable Mexican restaurants in Leicester The staff are very good (in particular Aneta, and Nathan have both been incredible on our visits), making us feel very welcome and comfortable and going out of their way to make our visits as good as possible. The good food, and fantastic staff are what keep us coming back.

Food was alright, I have had better Mexican elsewhere. Wasn't very spicy and I quite like some spice. The meal sizes are very good for the price and they have a big range on the menu from burritos to burgers. The chicken didn't have much flavour either. Was alright. The rush died down as we received our first course so the atmosphere had calmed down. 1st course was lovely. Both our main courses had elements that were overdone. My dessert was dry. After being asked if we wanted the bill we waiting 20 minutes until we received it, probably cos we put our coats on. Considering the rush had died down things went a bit down hill for us. Maybe it was just a bad day. Overall the staff were nice and the overall taste of the food was good. Will just have to try again another time.

Visited late afternoon on a Saturday and was still popular but loads of seating so no problem at getting seating. Our waitress (Amie) was quick to appear with our menus and we ordered our drinks to have while choosing what we’d like to eat. There were lots of choices for all palates, very hot and mild dishes. Amie was very attentive and friendly throughout our time there, without being invasive, checking everything was ok with our food and if we needed more drinks. She also recommended the cheesecake on the dessert menu and it lived up to my expectations - it was delicious, perfect sized portion and very light. Highly recommend this place over the other restaurants due to having never been disappointed each time we’ve visited. Thanks Amie, it was a real pleasure having you as our waitress.

Service is always slow, so there was no exception on this occasion. Many beer and cider options were unavailable, which was very disappointing. Midweek lunch with friends. Service was a little hit & miss, despite the restaurant being quiet, but friendly enough. We ate from the lunch menu (main course only) and had bottomless drinks which came to £10 each. We all enjoyed our meals: they were tasty, a decent size, and freshly cooked. Its such a chilled out, relaxed place, the staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great and the food is amazing. My favourite item on the menu is the pulled pork and chicken fajitas, they come with lots of onions and peppers and you can ask for extra wraps too if you're extra hungry

Service is always really slow and vegan options are lacking (have to almost make up your own dish by taking away this and adding that, would be great it they could have at least one dish that is just vegan). Also for the price most of the food is pretty lacking in flavour and would probably be tastier and cheaper made at home. Went for student tacos a week ago, as advertised by "Save the Student". Unfortunately, when we turned up, the staff knew nothing about it, and I had to load the voucher on my phone and show it to the duty manager. On ordering, I told the server I had a 30% discount for the main meal we were ordering. He said that was fine. On payment, he said he couldn't use it on the same transaction. Although he did split the tab after I suggested it, I didn't feel very welcomed or that there was much 'customer service first' thinking. On the plus side, fantastic food and delicious strawberry margarita (which was not just the funkin mix that chains seem to use!!)

Very friendly and very fast service, at about 6 on a Friday evening, so quite impressive. Delicious food which was altered with zero issue upon request. Only possible negative would be the price, however as it's a chain there's little which can be done. Would definitely return.

Visited last Friday and used a Wowcher deal. The service was good but just a few minor gripes. I asked twice for guacamole which never arrived and they don't offer any additional seasonings for the chips other than salt and pepper, so they were a bit bland. I'm sorry to say I am yet to leave here and think I've had a good meal. Last time we went the food was so long coming out we had to ask and it was another 5 after that even though we were told it was actually just coming. We then sent two of the meal back because the starter was burnt, can't believe it was sent out like it. Othet than this nothing rrally wrong just not inspiring enough to make me want to go back. Update from 12th August. Reluctantly went back here as my daughter wanted to have their breakfast for her birthday. I can honestly say the breakfast was great and well worth a visit, good alternative to the usual breakfasts around. I had the breakfast burrito and it was tasty and filling. My only gripe would be the toilets which were not very clean, especially for that time of day. I quietly raised this with the manager and guessed I had beat the cleaner in there, he confirmed in had but to be fair did say that shouldn't of made a difference and he would address it. It was quiet but hopefully this will improve, definitely be back for breakfast at some point. We had a great waitress too, sorry but we missed her name.

Found a Groupon voucher for Chiquito. Eaten here a number of times and often find the menu has changed. Despite that we always find something suitable on the menu and we weren't disappointed this time. Service is normally good with reasonable time between each course and we find the atmosphere enjoyable with varied groups of diners. Good drink selection including a draught beer from Brazil which I enjoyed. With the Groupon voucher it makes for a fair price as we find the overall pricing a little high which is why 4 stars. Will visit again as we do especially like the menu and atmosphere. Thank you to the staff for the good service.

I must say the sweets are not value for money 3 scoops of ice cream for just under£5 and all the other others were not worth the money we had 6 different puddings we did not think any were special.

Their famous fajita dishes are always a good bet and churros for dessert with chocolate sauce was the perfect ending. All together a decent experience for just £55 for two people, two lots of drinks, starter,main and shared dessert.
