Great location and great atmosphere. Service is good and place is clean Unfortunately when I’m paying big money for a set meal it’s got to be good The food was a big let down, very bland and something I’d expect from a supermarket. Never seen so much for go to waste. 2 out of 10 for food. 8 out of 10 for venue.

Brilliant food! Unlimited poppadoms is a first for me and as a vegetarian family we shared 3 veggie mains which were all lovely. Plenty of space for us on Saturday evening. The building is lovely, really high ceilings. Only thing not making it 5star is that service could have had more of a smile 😊

Beautiful food served in a clean and quiet atmosphere. We visited before a matinee performance at the theatre, this may explain why it was so quiet. The food was flavoursome and not too spicy. Staff were friendly and the price was not too bad. Will definitely return when we are next in Leicester.

The main waiter was absolutely brilliant. Food was super yummy. Service was quick - we came for the pre-theatre dinner and it was perfectly done and on time. It was really cold but they noticed and changed the thermostat settings. Really great place for pre-theatre meal.

I had really high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately i will not recommend and won't go back. Social distancing measures in place and staff was very friendly and helpful though. The food was really disappointing, no flavor whatsoever. The sheek kebabs were dry and had no taste. The duck samoosas were ok but nothing special. The King prawns looked really nice but taste wise, couldn't really tell what tasted like. The mains were as bad. The chicken was alright, the lamb chops were spicy and should be more tender and juicy. I can go on and on about the rest of the meal but bottom line is the indian cuisine is rich in flavor and the taste should be intense, rich and remarkable. Presentation was good, restaurant environment was good, staff worked really hard to make a fine dining experience, however the food which is the main thing was not acceptable. The Chef came round which was awesome but yeh, for that much money, you much rather go elsewhere. Service is 4 star but food 2, hence I'm giving 3 star to kind of compensate.

Staff were nice, but the food was nothing special, the poppadoms were stale and had to be sent back, what came back was not much better. Most of our 5 dishes were ok, one was insipid. You can certainly eat better for half the price at any independent indian restaurant. Location and decor is good.

Food was amazing, but it’s the service that made this place excellent. Tablecloths, outdoor heaters, blankets and water bottles available on request. They really do care about their customers. Just ordered in take away from here and had a meal a couple of weeks ago in the restaurant. I emailed before hand to check a few things about the menu as I am coeliac and have to eat gluten free, I had a really fast response and the manager reassured me about the many options I had and was very informed! For anyone looking for gluten free food this is amazing! This is the best Indian in Leicester, Really good customer service as the staff are excellent and so friendly! We attended an engagement function here. The food was prearranged so not off the usual menu. There were many guests and the atmosphere was good. Food arrived casually with the starters. Nothing to shout about as it was the usual suspects, samosas and tikka. Mains arrived promptly and was very good with fish being the best of all. The rest were chicken and mutton curry which were also good. The service was good and the venue is great. Will have to try another evening!

What a fantastic atmosphere. High ceilings and bright lights that aren't harsh made this a lovely place to eat our set menu which was tremendous value for money and provided sufficient choice between 12 of us in-between shows at the Leicester Comedy Festival!

Gorgeous contemporary Indian food. Beautifully presented delicious dishes. Extensive menu. Relaxed setting, we weren't rushed or made to feel we took too long as we were there for a couple of hours. Lovely wine and drinks menu. Staff were helpful and efficient. Opposite the theatre so a lovely place to go for pre theatre dinner. Not cheap but perfectly priced for the quality.

Let's start by how I found this place..I asked 3 local people where I could get the best Curry in towm and they all said this place so I started with high expectations. Easy to find , I walked in and loved the decor, classy but comfortable. Talented musician playing sax loud enough to enjoy but enough to disturb ( cool feat ) outstanding service with a staff that was proud of their place. Owner comes over to walk thank us for coming and personally makes some suggestions. We took his advise out original and incredible shrimp appetizer in my life hands down. Two different meals and both we immaculate. Open kitchen format , made to order and healthy fresh approach. I am sad my dinner is over !! I had to thank this man in person.

Arriving late, we were worried that we would not have time to eat. The staff were immediately sympathetic and produced the pre-theatre dinner almost instantly. And then we found that the food was really lovely. One if the best dahl dishes we have ever had, really nice lamb rogan and lovely starters. We dined there on a Saturday evening with our children. The place is smaller than it looks from the outside. I have to say, I think the tables could be organised better. I think the staff also could be a little better organised - we had 3 or 4 different servers and communication seemed to get a little lost. However those are minor points. The food was delicious. The popadoms and dips were great. We are vegetarian and tried the veggie platter for starter which was lovely. I would suggest a dip or sauce would go well with this. For the main we tried a Dhal and the Chilli Paneer. Both were great. The Chilli Paneer was lovely. Highly Recommended. I wanted to write this just to counter the suggestions below that the veggie options arent great, I was very happy with the choice and quality. Would visit again.

Took my girlfriend to Chutney Ivy on her birthday last weekend - Shaf Islam and his team pulled out all the stops, the best popadums I've ever eaten, unbelievably good fish main courses, friendly, attentive and polite staff, and to cap it all my lady received a lovely little cake with a candle and everyone sang happy birthday accompanied by a live saxophonist.
