w. t.My first ever visit to such kinda place where u can get everything vegan. I just bought couple of stuff for my partner who is vegan for almost 5 years now. Very nice n friendly staff n service was great.

A. M.As a vegan living in the UK for six months now, I haven’t found more delicious vegan food than the takeaway snacks of Current Affairs (not even in London!). I often take a bus to Leicester just to bring a bag full of their quiches, jack fruit wraps (amazing!) and cookies (I strongly recommend the polenta with spinach as well). For vegans and non-vegans, it is a place with truly delicious savoury and sweet homemade food.
A.I am truly heartbroken because I’ve been in Leicester for two months, leaving it after two days, and I just came across this shop today! They definitely have the most delicious, chocolatey brownies I’ve ever tasted!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️& the shop lady was the nicest!

J. M.Such a unique specialist shop with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. A delicious seasonal range of homemade takeaway bakery items: sausage rolls, wraps, and a good range of cakes and tray bakes. Great grocery range too! Including chilled & frozen.

The lady was so very kind and offered lots of advice and an online ordering which was fabulous. I unfortunately do not live in Leicester and quite a while away but would be a frequent visitor if I did. Everything we bought from here was incredible Thank you, Thank you! E. R.Love this place. My favourite eatery in Leicester, I have pretty much tried of the menu and it's all so yummy.
I think they really reasonable too and the service is just the best.
Since lockdown they have been delivering my groceries and a nice friday treat lunch as I can't get into town.
If you are staying in Leicester and want vegan food delivered items message them. Or pop in if you are in town.
I wouldn't go anywhere else now as we have always been delighted with their food,they are very eco in their packaging.

I have become a bit of a regular here over the last couple of months, the great food and awesome people working here just keep me coming back :). I have yet to be disappointed by any of the cakes or sandwiches I have tried (of which I have tried pretty much all haha) and any questions I have about any of the vegan foods that the shop is selling are answered confidently by who ever is behind the till.
In summary, Currant Affairs is awesome and a great part of Leicesters city centre. I can't wait for my next trip there!

My favourite is the vegan lemon and yoghurt cake - so moist and light. The quiche is to die for.😛👌. Good range of products and they stock my favourite Booja Booja's too - After Midnight Espresso ☕.
G. P.Small, but beautifully formed! This place has been going for ages, and it's still there because it's excellent and honest. Loads of goods that you don't get anywhere else, and the daily selection of sandwiches, slices, pies and cakes are all delicious (I have tried pretty much everything over the years, and have never been disappointed). The staff are all lovely too. Thumbs up from me!
r.My whole family adore this little gem of a shop - from the freshly made sandwiches, cakes and savouries to the vast number of vegan cooking ingredients and frozen foods- you can find anything you want and even some new products that a vegan veteran like me has never seen before. The staff are wonderful and always helpful. Lucy always brightens our day. My favourite shop in Leicester! :)

L. B.It’s a long-standing jewel in the community. A place to get a range of diverse and useful organic and vegan products. I particularly enjoy the vegan fish sauce, as a huge fan of Thai and Southeast Asian cooking in general, this product has revolutionised my food world and enabled me to veganise some of my best loved dishes. The staff are always friendly and have a real personal touch. Their fresh snacks are super tasty. I particularly like their Seitan skewers and all the quiches.

I can vouch for the banana cake, its the best I have tasted in a long time! the quiche, the soup and the samosas are my other favourites. Everything is vegan which is what i love about it and this probably the only 'all vegan' shop in the city.

Easily the best samosas in Leicester, and the almond truffle cake is exquisite.
Current Affairs is the jewel in the crown of The Lanes.
