The restaurant was very clean and looked great. The kitchen is based in the centre of the restaurant so you can see you food being cooked in front of your eyes. The kitchen looked clean as well. The general ambiance of the restaurant was great. The complimentary bread tasted fantastic too. The steaks in this case fillet mignon was delicious and well worth it considering how well it was cooked and the quality of the meat. The only downside to this place I would say was it felt like we were being ignored by some of the staff but this may have been as we visited towards the end of the night close to closing time. Unfortunately due to the time we visited they had run out of mocktails and Turkish tea. All in all I would go back to visit.

Good Turkish food. Slightly on a higher scale where price is concerned for certain tasteful pieces of meat. The front house staff on Saturday was just brilliant. Very welcoming and pleasant. The waiting staff were polite and friendly too. Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service: ⭐️(starter and drinks came fairly soon) but the mains took 50 mins to arrive. KIDS MEAL too came after 50 mins. KIDS meals should come with starters by default. Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quantity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (platters and some dishes can improve on Quantity) Everything was okay. GRILLED Fish Quantity was Excellent. BEAUTIFUL size and fresh. My only complaint would be that it was too bland, no seasonings. Potatoes were seasoned better than the fish. When you eat such a large portion of white fish, you do need a sauce or leave salt & pepper on the table at least.

Interior of the restaurant is really nice, modern and clean. Defo got that Instagram aesthetic. Suitable for couples, friends and families with a huge range of seating. The staff greeted us as soon as we stepped through the door and seated us almost instantly. The menu has a good varied selection, and the waiter Ashik was extremely helpful in explaining the dishes and making good recommendations. He was really polite and attentive, 10/10 service. The wait for the food wasn't long and the layout of the restaurant allows you to have an open view of the kitchen. No complaints with the portion sizes - the bread and dips were given complementary to us. We ordered the ultimate grill and the chicken kofte dishes. Both of which were extremely filling and the staff provided us with boxes to take the leftovers away with us. Also tried the mashed potatoes side which was flavoursome, creamy and seemed freshly made too. No complaints overall, in addition to two drinks the whole meal cost just under £40 for two people but the quality and portion sizes do justify it. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to eat in Leicester!

I came here for lunch with friends on a Saturday afternoon. The decor was really nice, chic & modern. We enjoyed the range of food ordered, the sharing cold mezze starters were excellent! Both chicken and lamb kofte was tasty & flavoursome!

A great location, with a very nice interior. On London Road right next to the train station, they have parking around the corner too, but I would ring ahead to ask about that just in case the parking is full or unavailable. The food was really good, I cannot complain about the taste. Some may baulk at the prices but I felt it was justified for what I ordered. A group of 8 of us were seated pretty quickly and with little hassle. It is a big restaurant but I would book ahead if you are a large group.

Amazing food, atmosphere and service especially from Habibo Habibo really went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. I loved the cold sharing mezze platter, Kunefe and the Turkish tea at the end was a nice touch.

Attended on a busy Saturday night and have to say the service was spot on. Waited a few mins to be seated, ordered 5 mins later and food was on the table within 10-15 mins. The food was nice, good portions and the decor was trendy. Very thoughtful to include a prayer room. Only thing letting it down was the attitude of the waiter Ashiq. When it came to taking the order he only wanted to do it his particular way and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times for him to register what was being said to him. He should work on his general tone as well when addressing people. Try talking with more Love like your name suggests. Otherwise, overall good experience.

Truly the best experience was had this evening celebrating my daughters 7th birthday. The food and drinks arrived Pinterest worthy, plentiful and delicious. Every member of staff were dedicated in making it extra special when all the team from the front house/manager and kitchen staff singing happy birthday and bringing through my daughters lighted birthday cake. I have visited this restaurant a few weeks after it was opened. I will try to be objective in my review. And explain what I liked and what could have been better. I will start with the positive side: 1) Location: it is a few steps away from the train station on the famous road - London Road - very close to the city centre. 2) Atmosphere: As this place has just been refurbished, all decorations and furniture were new during our visit. I like the very relaxing selection of food tables and sofas. Low lights and soft classic music. Very suitable for people who like peace and quietness. It is also suitable for small families to enjoy a break with their kids. 3: food: I had a platter for two people, a combination of grill including lamb, chicken and kofte, served with rice and salad. I have good taste in grill because it is my favourite. I could see the meat served at this restaurant was fresh. I know how good the grill is from its fresh smell and this restaurant was just right for me because I could taste and smell how freshly made the lamb ribs were served to me that day. 4) Staff: The staff were very welcoming and hosting. Starting from people at the reception. Waiter/ess, supervisors, chefs. I had the nicest chance to talk to some chefs, namely Karim and his colleagues. My family and I were nicely welcomed by Ree and Daniel (supervisors), who were very cheerful to my kids. We were seated by Ree just next to the window view to the splendid London Road. We enjoyed talking to Daniel while we were leaving. Thanks, Daniel, for telling us about the restaurant and its beautiful history. Now I will move to the things I wish could be improved. Things to improve: 1) portion of food: I have been to many restaurants which serve Turkish food, and only one or two restaurants in my life did not serve Lemon, bread and sauces when I ordered a mixed grill meal. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not include these in the meal. I ordered a Sujuk, a traditional Turkish sausage, as a hot side dish during my visit. I found this dish tiny, and a larger portion could be served for my money. 2) prices: As a newly decorated restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere, you may expect a slightly higher price than other Older Turkish restaurants in the area. However, I would suggest that the portion of the dishes should be slightly improved to fit the price because other Turkish restaurants nearby would serve a larger portion for the price you pay here. I also think there is a high need to include some sides within full grill/steak meals as free starters because this, in my view what would make a Turkish restaurant stand out. These things include bread, and maybe a couple of dips served to the guest once they are seated.

The review based on what we ordered on saturday night without booking. I suggest to book ahead, nevertheless, we were seated in a comfy lounge, no longer than 25 minutes. The place was really busy, but there will always be someone to attend and help you. We ordered platter menu, salad and desserts, and they are wonderful. Visited here quite a few times and I’m always left so impressed, especially after my most recent visit where I got the wagyu steak! As a steak lover, it was most definitely the best steak I’ve had in Leicester and the price is so affordable considering the high quality of everything! Lamb in the tacos was tender. Sauce in it was awesome. Personally, I felt the tacos were too crispy. Steak platter was good. You can tell it was quality meat. Portion is small for 4 people. It caters for may be 4 women, not men. It filled the holes in my teeth, so at least that’s something. I can cancel my dentist appointment. The Baba’s Passion was dilute upgrade 2.0. Unimpressive. Again, it’s made for women or effeminates. I can gulp the whole glass in one go. Overall, food is tasty but portion size is disappointing. I was still hungry and I am 11 stones. If you had a cruiserweight or heavyweight come to eat, the diagnosis after the meal would be - malnourished. Decor and seating was good, but that too is catering for women. I’m not fussed if the chair is like memory foam. I didn’t come to a restaurant for my buttocks to be pleasured. If the place was named Etci Mama in might be more appropriate.

In a short statement I’d simply describe Etci Baba as the best Turkish Restaurant in the country. The food is cooked to perfection. The food is incredibly hot. All meat that me and my family had was cooked out of this world. Portion size was also great. The drinks are also fantastic the fact that they are fresh and no syrups are used I would say this is the best in the country. Service was fabulous the fact that they have two managers front of house they do an amazing job seating me and my family to the table and they could not have been more politer. Would like to say a massive Thank You and if younare thinking of Dining inside I Would definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed everything except for the Beef Stragonof that my older son ordered, he ordered Baba Ganoush as a starter and that was lovely.,my second son opted for Calamari starter and a Sirloin for main which was absolutely divine, I had a lamb sheesh and my daughter had a chicken nugget kids meal, also very nice, we had the Baklava dessert with icecream and the chef was generous enough to give extra scoop of icecream for me daughter since the one with Baklava was dusted with Pistachios. The pina colada presentation is fun more so interestingly intriguing, highly recommend.

What a treat this was! The stake cooked to perfection and was melting like butter in your mouth. We celebrate my husbands birthday today and had starters and Main which we all enjoyed. I’m a big fan of Turkish foods and in particular the Turkish restaurants around Leicester. As much as I was very excited about this place I have to say the environment and food was not up to standard. Considering that other Turkish restaurant around give free bread and dips etc and this place charges that was the first red flag. Generosity has always been the spirit of most Turkish restaurant so this didn’t get me off to a good start. Then the food was decent we had the platter for 2 and then a kids meal. Both tasted fine but nothing special if I’m honest and then the bill was just a bit extortionate. Considering what we had plus a drink it was over £50 and as much as I can understand the price of meat etc it wasn’t good enough to make me think I’d go back and spend that money again for that standard.

I think "exceeded expectations" is a good two word summary for our experience last night! The unassuming London Road location hides a relatively classy Turkish restaurant. Walking in, we were met with the sound of gentle jazz and the striking decor - a blend of natural, art deco and industrial styling. The service was very good - the staff were polite and reasonably attentive. And the food... the food was sublime. Meat cooked excellently, perfect rice and tasty mezes. I'd always go for a starter and a main so you're not left wanting - I'd recommend the humus kavurma and the bread basket to start. And to drink, the "Baba's Passion" which was delicious! Overall a delightful experience and one I'd love to return for. Considerations: Parking - opposite the restaurant on Nelson Street, £1 for parking 2 hrs which can be reimbursed at the restaurant if you take a photo of your pay and display ticket. Alcohol - none served here

Never mind the food , yet. When you walk in this restaurant beautifully decorated, ergonomically design for comfort, the furnishings are sumptuously displayed in arays of different colours and so comfortable, just like being at home. While sitting awaiting to order, the waiters are so polite, and helpful, knowing the dishes they easily explain the various dishes. Good portions, super ambience and definately a step up from the usual. A more personal service than Konak, which often is too noisy and like a cattle market. The service we received from Nikusha was excellent. She was attentive, polite and highly courteous. Individual dishes are a bit pricey though, but if u share or go for the platters the bill can be a bit more reasonable. Portions are generous. Overall, we enjoyed our visit.

Went for the first time as a large group booking. Polite service from waitress (Hilma) who was outstanding, everything was on time, portions were good size, food was quality (we had the steak platter for 4 and the platter for 4). The staff were very good especially Hilma who was assigned to our table, pleasant, friendly and delivered what we wanted. The baklava hits the spot as always. For anyone who is thinking of going it is quite a pricey place but you get a good serving and for those who love sizzling meat cuts this is the place. I would like to congratulate the owner Dana who has overcome the initial troubles with the previous owner, provided clarity on the ownership and the halal certification of the produce. Hindutva free zone too! Etci Baba well done 10/10!

We visited Etci Baba as a spur of the moment decision, it was busy at 7pm but we managed to get a table within 5 minutes. Atmosphere was lovely, starters came quickly but mains took time. We had a child with us who got slightly impatient with waiting for food, our waiter kept on top of this by asking the chefs regularly unfortunately to no avail, so when the manager came over we asked him to chase up the food who made sure our little one got his food very quickly! We received our mains after 1hr 15mins and it was lovely, portion size was more than enough too. Despite the delays we made sure we ordered some dessert too as we love our turkish kunafa and asked the waiter how long it would take, he checked with the chefs before taking our order. Thankfully this arrived within less than 10 minutes. Imran the manager came and spoke to us as he realised we’d waited for our mains for a long time. He was extremely apologetic, asked if he could do anything to rectify the situation, but we understood it was a busy evening for them with some tables that had over 10 people in a group. We were given baklava and turkish tea as an apology and we were greatful for this even though we felt that there was no need. Etci Baba is a lovely place and we hope others enjoy it as receive the lovely service that we did.

Travelled to Leicester for this place. Overdue for sure and it didn’t disappoint. Had the Wagyu steak with the mushroom sauce and triple cooked chips, it was cooked to my liking and was deliciously divine!! Went for a meal with a friend for the first time, the restaurant has been done up really nice it’s got a lovely Ambiance. Staff were very polite and came to the table regularly throughout the evening. We ordered a couple of mains and the order for my friend was mis made so we sent back the dish including my own. My friends was remade however both our chips tasted re fried, my chicken was cold and a 3rd of it was undercooked I found. We complained to Manager they were very apologetic and gave us a discount. The food it self I felt lacked flavour, also considering the cost of the dish in comparison to other Turkish restaurants near by, I didn’t feel I received value for my plate. We received chicken and chips no Turkish salad on the side just a 1/4 soggy tomato and 1/2 chilli pepper. All Turkish restaurants I’ve been too around Leicestershire bring complimentary bread and dips and each main always comes with Turkish salad and dips. I understand not all restaurants offer this but when you have other similar restaurants nearby that offering more for your pound in todays climate. The customer will eventually go where food is good and value for money.
