Lovey decor and parking very easy, I feel the price is a little high for the food served, I was happy with my starter and main but my partner wasn’t, his starter of cold meat platter was very bland served with cold onion which wasn’t even a relish, maybe could have chosen better. But paying those prices you expect wow. I had the pigeon salad and trio of pork, would recommend for a special occasion but we wouldn’t rush back.

A beautiful building awaits your arrival and exactly opposite a free car park. The Staff are extremely attentive throughout your visit. They want to listen to your comments and deliver an exceptional service. The menu is on a huge board in the bar. A board you can actually read , as let’s face it menu print is getting more difficult under low lighting to look through. You could be there for hours just choosing the menu itself. Everything is there and definitely something for everyone. The wine menu is exceptional and the choices available compliment the food admirably. The food is cooked to perfection and one of the sides that can be ordered (peas and pancetta) is an absolute must. You could eat that dish just on its own. The 3 courses my husband and I had were completely opposite. Meat and fish choices, except for the pudding and cheese, but non the less perfect. I highly recommend a visit to this exceptional restaurant and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Guys for the most relaxing evening. See you all again soon.

We went for a family meal. I Had the steak, the flavours were great, and all meals were cooked well. The steak came with a good range of sides, and the rest of the family were pleased with their food. A few things stood out to me, that i would expect to be better for the high prices they are charging. Upon arriving we had to wait at the bar for twenty+ mins and have our order taken there, while there was loads of seating available in the restaurant and we had booked. If you have booked and arrive on time you usually are able to go straight to your table, this was strange way greet and serve us i felt. The pre booking / reservation system asks for a ridiculous £24 per person if you cancel inside 24 hours. This is Earl Shilton not London, £10 is the going rate. £24 is just greedy. This was enough to put us of going for years. We have never cancelled on restaurants before, but i think this sets completely the wrong tone, before you have even eaten. I appreciate its a small family business, but this high cancellation charge is just the wrong way to start. Service was very good, food came fast, but the lack of menus, made it hard to make a decision for desert, i understand you change the menu regularly, people expect menus, its a basic restaurant standard. Desserts were divine when they did arrive. The flavour and presentation of food was absolutely great, so i cant knock that. Overall we would dine again, now we know what to expect.

Would highly recommend eating here. Lovely decor inside with parking opposite the restaurant. They were extremely accomodating to my gluten free intolerance and even tweaked things on the menu and gave options of two new deserts. Service was amazing too! Will be visiting again.

Went here tonight for dinner. Being vegan we spoke to them ahead of booking and they advised of this months seasonal menu for our requirements. The food was absolutely delicious. My partner did prefer more well cooked risotto however that was just preference, but we both thoroughly enjoyed the starter and main and their service is fantastic. The interior is also so beautiful. We will be back again to see what their next options will be! 💗

We came here about a month ago to celebrate my birthday as the lockdown eased in Leicester. When we made the reservation, we told them we were celebrating my birthday, and they placed a birthday card on our table on arrival, which was incredibly nice and thoughtful of them. It was a Friday evening booking and, while busy, they maintained social distancing guidelines. The food we ordered was lovely and varied. The knock-out dish was their signature MasterChef dish, which was cooked perfectly. And I especially liked their praline crème brûlée. The price was reasonable too. And there's also a public car park opposite the restaurant which is free in the evenings. I would highly recommend this place if you're after a friendly, family run restaurant that offers a good variety of food.

Newly decorated from front to back. Very clean and tidy. From the moment we walked in the service was second to none. Drinks in the bar area was pleasant. We had starters, main and desserts. Could not fault any of the food we had. Cooked to perfection (Good effort chef). Table service was fantastic and any demand made was sorted for us. This is a great restaurant for family's and couples. Do book in advance as this is a popular restaurant. Car park is located opposite. Keep up the good work. Will be back at soon.

A beautiful restaurant. Cosy, modern and bright interior with a luxury feel. A small outside area, again very tasteful with comfy outdoor sofas, chairs and a few little tables. Inside and out very clean and tidy. The 2 staff that we spoke to were very welcoming, helpful, friendly and professional. The only downside was the lunchtime menu. The only option was 3 courses for £30. The most fancy, delicious, posh food on the menu but definitely more for a special occasion or evening. Shame they didn't have lighter options for a much reduced cost. There was only our table plus 1 more there at lunchtime so very quiet for a Friday. It really is a beautiful place with great staff. I'll definitely go back but for an evening meal. Think it would be much busier with a lighter, lunchtime menu.

We chose Fourwards for our wedding anniversary meal. I like the idea that they change their menu regularly. It keeps the restaurant quite fresh. The quality of the food was amazing and service was decent. There were some very minor errors but nothing that was not resolved imidiately. I would say that it would be a great idea if the staff could explain a little more about the dish when they bring it over to take the client on a journey as there is a lot of work gone into the meal.

Yesterday, 7th August 2021, we were lucky enough to attend Richard and Rachel's wedding reception held at Forwards. We are from Kent so had no idea of what to expect. All l can say is, it was exceptional. The decor was beautiful, the food outstanding, and the service excellent. If we lived in the area, this would be our place to eat. I really can't praise it highly enough.

Arrived at exactly 7.30 for our booking and essential for the restaurant as covid rules still apply. For 15 mins a gentle trickle of dinners and then it went pear shaped and some 25 people,some early some late , arrived and the staff had to go into hyper drive. I therefore think it unfair to review as it is impossible to provide normal service under those conditions. I would just suggest that if the market price of the sole is that expensive you can only offer 1/2 of it then don't have it on the menu.

I very rarely leave reviews although I felt the need to after eating here tonight. We had a 3 course meal and every course was outstanding along with the presentation in which it was served. Starter was o.k, my main was the chicken Kiev, too overcooked and dry oh and far too salty.My husband had fillet of beef which he enjoyed but had to ask for a steak knife and asked for salt which he never got. It was a present so we didn't complain but if we were paying I definitely would have.

Have been to Ashfields several times and will keep returning for their great variety of delicious, well cooked food from both the menu and constantly changing specials board. Best value for money is to be had a lunchtimes and the finest Sunday lunch we've managed to find for many miles around. Service is always polite, efficient and friendly. One of our favourite places to eat and just round the corner too!

Quality on every level, Ashfields makes the promises others can't keep and delivers in style. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, enjoyed drinks in the lounge area and browsed the menu before being ushered to our seats in the main restaurant. The plates on offer are high-end and the talent in the kitchen ensure they're presented to you exactly as intended. With the current almost draconian restrictions my experience might have been clouded, however, I found it a little "up itself" and the staff over formal and wooden. There was no warmth or engagement from the staff to the diners. I eat out all over the country and especially in London where I usually live and Ashfields could do with lightening up and easing off a bit witheir their attitude. Far too formalised and scripted with their communication. This doesn't lend itself to making customers feel comfortable and relaxed, and there needs to be some sense of humour injected into the service rather than the cold, formal tight-arsed waiting staff. The food was OK, well presented and quite tasty, however, the dessert was way too big and the restaurant could easily double its profits by serving half portions. In fact a little more on the main course instead wouldn't have gone amiss. My comment about tgat was lost on the waiter who just appeared to be offended rather than recognise the humour intended. I can get a far better meal in London at almost half the price in a restaurant with better service, more relaxed and warmer staff. Because there's so much more competition in the capital standards are higher and prices are lower for an equivalent menu. Thank you for the evening anyway, but I'll choose elsewhere again.

I was shocked to learn (en route to our annual Christmas dinner) that Ashfields had changed hands, having been there at least annually for the last 20 years. I wasn't sure what to expect . Oh please not nouveau cuisine with just a splash of 3 colours on the plate in a different small shape! But I wasn't disappointed. There was plenty to eat, very nicely presented and very tasty. And very attentive and polite staff (with a great sense of humour which we appreciated). It's not quite the original Ashfields (and of course it isn't meant to be) but I believe when I come again I'll be giving it 5 stars.

I cannot fault the food it was well presented & excellent tasting so I would rate it a 5 the restaurant was clean & very well set out, the service however really let it all down, I think there needs to be a front of house/ mai'tre d . When we arrived there was no one to greet us the person at the bar was busy & didn't acknowledge we were waiting,the girl who came over to give us a menu & took our order was very efficient. A waitress when asked did not know the soup of the day also our wine arrived & was just left on the table for us to pour the first glass although during the evening mine was refilled as it was empty by one of your male waiters. So this is why a 3 rating because the service was noticeably poor which is a shame because the food was faultless, we will come again

Still a good restaurant but service has slowed a little of late and a substance suspiciously like aerated tinned cream in a pudding was disappointing. It has become noisy since the carpet was replaced with a hard floor. This makes life especially difficult for those who wear hearing aids : the clamour is now such that I can't hear anything in the hubbub. New owners will always want to introduce new ideas but in an establishment with a reputation such as Ashfield's many regulars might not welcome too much change. It's a delicate balance and I am not certain that balance has been maintained. Time will tell.

We recently held our small, family wedding reception at Ashfields which was a wonderful experience. The professionalism, care & attention to detail was second to none. Everything we asked for and more was put into place for us by the hard working, friendly staff. With 4 young children under the age of 4 in our party, everyone was catered for. We visited last night as a 4. Taking our friends for their first visit. As usual the welcome, service and food were excellent. The ladies loved the extensive selection of gins available. The new owners Adam and Stacey have done an amazing job of breathing "new life" into Ashfields. Updating the decor and introducing a new exciting menu. The "amuse bouche" was a lovely touch. Fourways at Ashfields is a must visit restaurant if you like good quality food.

Just had a 3 course meal there, services was extremely good, very attentative & the food was fantastic. All the deserts especially are freshly made as got a pastry chef and since its been taken over 6 months ago ( i visited about a year ago so new hands ), i can definately see & taste the difference. The only thing i would say that needs improving, is attention to detail on decorating and lighting. I prefer the lighting to be a bit softer and warmer, probably to make my ugly mug look better under dimmed light ! 😂. & im a bit of an ocd with detail such as the care taken into paint lines being straighter ( but i am ocd ), but very clean and tidy & glasses clean. But besides that, truely great experience & really enjoyed the food, would definately go again and recommend to friends / family 😊

Quantity over quality. Lamb was a bit tasteless and the creme brulee was not set, very runny with too much sugar that just tasted burnt. There was however tons of food, so if that's what you dine out for then fair enough. I'd prefer if they dialled back their portion size and either improved the quality or lowered the price.
