Absolutely great food and equally great service. We were recommended the special chip buttie with mild and hot sauce and the VJ special jacket potato. Both meals tasted lovely and I cannot wait to return to hot potato shop soon. Great work by the owners and they were great and recommending best sellers and listen to what we like/don't like See you soon :)

Food was fantastic, I'll definitely be making hot potato a regular. Staff were very friendly and welcoming dealt with the order and food efficiently. I had the soya burger and special chips, tasted amazing, freshly cooked to order and generously portioned.

Been coming here since I was a kid and still do as an adult and always will. New owners and management but same flavour, its deffo an upgrade...you'll see go check it! Best chip butty in Leicester hands down!

I placed an order yesterday- wow. The customer service and the level of kindness is definitely top notch 👌. It doesnt hurt to be nice and extra friendly when speaking to customers but definitely something thats missing within the industry at the moment. The potatoes was just so tasty , huge portions.we also had some chana daal which was very tasty too. The jacket potatoes were also huge ! Lots of filling -was moist and very flavourful . Me and my husband enjoyed it. Definitely a revisit and a must try for others. Would like to try their chips with cheese and onion relish🤩 They are also on Instagram so check their social media page out.

We used this caterer for my sons party. Something other than pizza! What a great service! The kids love the cheesy chilps and wraps so did the adults! It went down really well. Everything was thought of by the owners including napkins, condiments. Delivered with care in insulated bags. Will definitely use them again!

This place is a Leicester institution. If you've not been. You need to go. Home of the special chip butty. Totally vegetarian. So don't go if you're expecting non veg. It is only a takeaway. I took the family today as my two young lads have never been here and I wanted to take them to experience my childhood. I used to go all the time when I went to college just up the road. But having moved away its now a rare treat. Also the management has recently changed but I'm pleased to say the food and quality hasn't.

I’ve been coming to this iconic shop for the last 20 + years and in that time clearly a number of owners. Good luck to the new ones and I hope you guys do well but I have to say, if it aint broke, don’t fix it…. My order was good, but it’s just not the same taste. Can’t put my finger on it. Their Special chips is one of the best you can’t find that same taste across the area. I have also tried their Special Chip Buttie which is so unique and tasteful that you cannot avoid it. They have also introduced their new items like Wraps, Burgers, Panini and Special Vegan Donner series Whenever you are in Leicester don’t miss to have food from Hot Potato Shop.

I've been visiting this little gem for many years. Their special chips and jackets are always on point, and the quality of ingredients used. New menu was added recently, and the vegan donner is something to try👌🏽

Tasty chips and spicy paneer tikka with a sweet chilli sauce. The chilli cheese bites are the same as bk. Good variety of veg take out options. I am a meat eater and i would happily swap with one of the veg options. Have to wait a bit while chips are cooked fresh which, after tasting, is well worth the wait. Based on the location, the service is as expected. Yes, as per previous reviews the owner doesn't smile, but nor do i so it don't bother me.

Today I would give my whole experience 6 stars. I enjoy the chips and curry served with onions and abbli. Today my expectations were exceeded. My order was almost ready when I walked in. The flavour was perfect. I should have bought 2 as I could keep eating. Diwali 2022. I went for a quick takeaway before the road closed. I had a Donner. It was very tasty and real tasting. Brilliant idea.

Absolutely stunned by the taste of the vegan "doner kebab" which is the best I've had. It was the perfect texture and flavour. Unbelievable! I had it with their famous chips. Great portion size, I was nicely full and so saved the rest for later and it tasted just as good then. Will definitely be coming back soon...yum!

A staple of Leicester! The food is unbelievably good here! The new owners have elevated it to a different level. The portions are fantastic and the taste is amazing! The new seitan donor wrap is one of the best things I've ever tasted period! Do yourself a favour and go try it and everything else! From the potatoes to chips! You won't be disappointed.

There are many positive reviews about this place and their food but can I say it's not just their food that is fantastic but excellent customer service needs a definite mention!! I ordered a couple of weeks ago and one of my items wasn't something that was right with me. Upon contacting them via FB, they not only were so polite and understanding of the feedback, they offered such a generous outcome on my visit back yesterday!! I couldn't take photos as the chip butty special and veg burger were too demolished too quickly!! Thank you Hot Potato Shop for the food and the top service!! Amazing place to eat if you want a jacket potato, chip cob this is your place to go! Their specials are the one! The staff are helpful and when your abit stuck with what to have they never fail to surprise me and the foods never let me down! They also helped cater for my mum who does not eat certain things in her food due to dietary and religious reason they checked the beans for us to see if it contained any of the ingredients! Good customer service, great Special Chip Buttie” and reasonable price too. Customer just dropped one pound in his shop but can’t retrieve at the buzy time and owner didn’t charge for it. You don’t need smile all the time from the owner but what you need is reasonable and hard working guy.
