It was alright! Went there for lunch! Lobster, Squid and Prawn was good! Not the best, but still good! Chorizo was nice too My friend had Burger and he did not like it! I can’t comment on it as I did not have it but he regretted having it! Staff was friendly but could do better!

This is the place I go if I fancy grilled food. The service here is outstanding. Environment as well. The building itself is elegant. Fresh salmon and salad Chololate pudding is the cherry on top. I chooses the set menu Great deal less choices Enjoy everyone 😉

I’ll start by saying the waitress who served us was polite and friendly. However after that is when the night kind of went downhill. The location is great and the interior of the restaurant is great too. But I must say that the food just did not taste great, especially for the price paid. This was the second time of visiting this place and ordered 2 different things but left both times feeling unsatisfied with the experience.

Middleton's is a smaller group of chain of steakhouses starting out in Middleton near Kings Lynn. I decided to visit Leicester's branch with a total of 9 in their group now. The exterior and interior of this restaurant was gorgeous. It had really tall ceilings and it's chic touch without going over the top help retain the buildings character which used to be NatWest bank. I was seen my a host and shown to my booked table promptly. You can also pre order your food online which I had never seen before and nice to have that option. Likewise when seated I was given water automatically without asking. This was a lovely touch to see more restaurants adopting also. I opted for their very reasonablely priced Fixed Price Lunch Menu which at 2 courses for £10.95 or 3 courses for £11.95 this is excellent value. The rest of the menu is also reasonably priced and is cheaper than Miller and Carter overall. Cocktails are priced at around £7. I did note that I had to order from the menu manually as I was not offered this menu on entry and had to get it off their website. The restaurant had nice ambient background music on and given it was warm outside it was suitably air conditioned. Exterior dining tables were avaliable and busy at the time but quieter inside when I visited. One thing I liked was that the starter and main dish came with tissue underneath it which helped given there was only one napkin on the table for those messy eaters. I had the following today: Starter - Garlic Mushrooms Mushrooms are my favourite thing to have. It was in a lemon and herby sauce with sourdough on the side. The sourdough was on the hard side with that extra crunch to it. It was nice that it was separate to the garlic mushrooms as opposed to being on top of it to avoid it going soggy. They tasted fresh and a good pallet cleanser to start with. I received this in around 7 minutes. Main - Minute Steak I opted for this medium rare as per the hosts recommendation. A steak knife was already on the table in advance and I did not need to ask for this. I opted for wedges as a side with this. The steak was cooked exactly to how I wanted it and had a distinct chargrilled taste to it. It was a little chewy but nothing excessive to expect of a minute steak. It had a lean and tender flavour to it and tasted great. The mushroom tasted as expected alongside the tomato. The wedges were a good size and well salted with a crisp outer layer to them. Overall I had no issues! I received this within 12 minutes of the starter being cleared. Dessert - Eton Mess Cheesecake Eton Mess crossed with a cheesecake. I had never heard of a combination in a restaurant before. This worked so well and was very rich in its flavour. A generous amount of berries on the top of it coupled with the vanilla ice cream made it an awesome summer dessert. I received this 7 minutes after the main. Overall, I was very happy with Middleton's given it was my first visit to one. Great value food with friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and good quality for what you get. I did report a hand dryer issue to the team who said they would get it sorted. Toilets are unisex here with individual cubicles. The location also offers Blue Light Card 20% discount Monday - Friday on the a la carte menu only.

The decor and the facilities here is top notch. This place used to be a bank, which is where the high ceiling comes from. It gives the restaurant a spacious and airy feel to it. We had to wait for a while to be sitted. The starters and mains were very tasty, however the dessert was a let down. The cream had split. Cocktails were nice and well presented. The staff were quite friendly despite their busy schedule for the night. All in all, good value for money and I'll be back again.

A terrific steakhouse. We arrived from out of town as a group of lads, Middletons probably wasn't the perfect fit. I would say it is well suited as a date night restaurant, or for any intimate occasion. Even so, the staff looked after us splendidly, the food was incredible, all eight of us enjoyed multiple courses without a single fault. Some of the guys had cocktails, they all really raved about those too. The building is spectacular. An incredible environment, to which the restaurant has done justice. Strongly recommended.

When I had a steak sandwich for my main and was asked how I take my steak, I knew that I had chosen the right place to eat. Kids meals were good value too. All in paid just over £22 Inc service for an adult and child to both have 3 courses and a soft drink. Ate at Bill's the week before and only got a kids 2 course and 1 for myself for the same price. Photos are of the garlic mushrooms, rare steak and lettuce sandwich and Eton mess cheesecake. The building itself is lovely, with its high ceilings and decorations giving the place an upmarket feel, which is matched by the service. Would happily eat here again.

Food was just ok. Chipped crockery doesn’t inspire. I liked the hot chillies garnish. Steaks were cooked to our liking. Didn’t like that food was cold when it arrived. Definitely short staffed on Sunday night. Even tho we booked for birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this. We didn’t appreciate the inclusion of the 10% service charge that comes with the bill! It makes the diner feel guilty asking for it to be removed. Don’t do that. It’s just classless.

Made a reservation and my party of 2 ate from the set price lunch menu, the vegetable tart was nice i was told and the minute steak and baby potatoes were delightful, steak cooked to my liking. The brownie and sundae were good. Toilets were lovely well kept. Only thing I didnt like so much was the service was slightly patchy (we had to ask twice to pay the bill), a 10% service charge was added on and we had to ask to take it off although we were told it was added on as well as the tables were a bit too close together for comfort. But Overall brilliant quality and value food would recommend again.

Lovely place for a date depending on the time you go. The interior is very well designed and the seating areas are plentiful. However, just be aware that some places (the booths) have the chairs very close to the table and cannot be moved.

Advertise 11.30 for breakfast, but don’t want to seat you at 11:25….. travelled 30 miles for the steak breakfast just to be turned away despite being in time. Extremely disappointed with a place I have only been complimentary about in the past. After another visit this weekend we pushed our luck at 11:25 again expecting to be turned away, but couldn’t have been more pleased to have been accepted for breakfast and had absolutely fantastic service and a very tasty Middleton breakfast. 🤤

Starter of garlic mushrooms was very good. The main courses, steak and chicken were dry and unappetising, and the accompanying salad rather poor. Conversion of the building well done. Pity the meal wasn't up to the same standard.

Fantastic building, nice atmosphere too. Food was alright, had the Calamari starter which tasted unseasoned in my opinion but also had the Filet steaks which were very good. Not crazy expensive but not a cheap night out by any stretch. For comparison, Middletown is similar to restaurants like the Botanist.

Nice enough decor, was originally sat near the door which had a cold draft every time the door was opened, they moved us upon request, really they need to get rid of that table during the winter. Had the prawn cocktail to start which was nice but small, not worth the money in my opinion. Had the rump steak for main, it was cooked as asked and nice, the issue is I didn't think it was as good as my local steakhouse which I won't name to remain impartial. They also don't serve beer on tap, in a steakhouse no draft is a big 'no no' in my book. In summary, acceptable but I doubt I'll be returning.

Certainly not enough bread for the portion given. The person that greeted us was barely audible and had a very lack lustre attitude. The main manager was very good, polite and good service. We have been before and enjoyed our meals, unfortunately not yesterday . Expensive for what you get, no rush to return.

First visit was a disaster... Cheese was sent back as wasn’t melted and the new one was not melted either Steak we ordered medium rare... and... was medium well... that’s the 18oz Chateaubriand which cost £49.95... and look at that plate, the presentation... 😒🙄🤮 they called themselves a steakhouse? The second one was a lot better at least I see blood but the cut itself and the seasoning was not up to a steakhouse standard. Am I expecting too much?!?! Anyway the service was absolutely amazing and the manager came out to check on us too. So we gave them a second chance to try their “set menu” which was a lot cheaper and more popular and so we thought maybe the food will be better... We were wrong... with that price maybe miller and carter is better, well, at least better presentation. Food wise alone this is 1 star and service is 4/5 starts... some waiter could do more with a smile. 3 stars overall but I will not return anytime soon.

At last a chef who cooks to the taste of the patron. Service by the all the staff first class and friendly. The food was cooked to a high standard and delicious and you are not charged ponsey prices. If in leicester it's well worth a visit

I’ve been to Middletons on many occasions and found the steaks to be generous and delicious. However, my visit last week was disappointing due to the chef constantly shouting orders at the top of voice, killing any ambience in the room. I understand the chef needs to communicate with the staff but there’s not need to scream at the top of your lungs. At one point he was so loud one of the servers had to tell him to be quiet. Ended up skipping dessert and coffees as just wanted to leave. Like I say, great food but please please ask the chef to turn it down !

Food is amazing and offer a big variety including options for set menus etc. Current on coronavirus means you scan the menu through a QR code so it's all accessible ahead (same menu as on the website), service was still great and would definitely return.

My wife's meal was very nice but my burger was not good at all. Not worth the money in my opinion. The restaurant was noisy, they need some acoustic solutions but decor and setting was good. Staff were good but we felt a little rushed, drinks and starters within 10 minutes of ordering, they do have limits on how long you can keep your table for so maybe that's why. It was ok, no more than that.

I had a great meal in Middletons while I was in Leicester visiting a friend of mine. The restaurant has lovely decor that fits in with the building that it inhabits. I opted for the 22oz porterhouse steak with dauphinoise potatoes and was extremely happy with it, it was seared to perfection and cooked exactly to my liking. My friend ordered a rump steak and was also not disappointed. Overall I'd have to say it's one of the best steakhouses I've been in and the staff were great.

A beautiful building, fab decor. Service was good but the waitress could have been a bit less sarcastic about everything.. For starters I had garlic mushrooms. This came in a small bowl and was more like mushroom soup with a few mushrooms in it plus 1 tiny piece of little round bread/2 bites and it was gone. Needed a spoon to eat the soup! Mains I had the spicy salmon. This was delicious, about the size of the palm of your hand. Came with 1 side so I had new potatoes, again maybe 3 small potatoes cut in half in butter (they were delicious too but not enough) but no veg at all! A very empty plate and I'm not a big eater!... Overall it was over priced for what I got... Disappointed.

Although my partner and I turned up early, we were welcomed promptly by a male server who read our requests that we provided when we made the booking and seated us where we would feel comfortable.. we were then approached by Josh who was friendly, efficient and professional. He demonstrated immense kindness and understanding in regards to our anxiety, quite possibly being the best service I have ever received in a restaurant.

One of the best steaks I've had for a long, long time. I had the 10 ounce rump steak medium rare and it was perfectly cooked and very juicy. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the only downsides were that we only had one drink as we had to wait over 35 minutes for them to arrive. Also, the mayonnaise was very bland and lacked flavour, but all in all a good experience and I would eat there again without a doubt.

Absolutely outstanding service for a recent surprise visit for my 40th! My mum liaised with Kate ahead of our visit and made her aware of the occasion and Kate went above and beyond to ensure I was made to feel special and welcomed. Our table was beautifully decorated, we were greeted by Kate on arrival and nothing was too much trouble throughout our time here. This is not the 1st time we have visited and certainly won't be the last. Special thanks to Kate and her team for adding to what was an amazing day ❤

Excellent steak restaurant. Have been a few times on special occasions. Had chateau-briand on both occasions and this was cooked perfectly. Had the shared starter platter with a party of 4 and found this to be generously proportioned and all was cooked very well. Only criticism is we had one curdled creme brulee but they removed this from the bill with no fuss whatsoever. This restaurant is not the cheapest, but you will be well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cocktails were delicious. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good steak.

The food was really tasty! The Downsides were that we were sat down just over 2 hours before the mains arrived. One of us had to change his food choice 4 times because they didn't have the ingredients. They bought out the steaks and sides on the wrong plates so there was a lot of passing food around when it arrived. And we couldn't swap lamb for gammon on the meat mix grill because they 'can't mix fish and meat'... 😅 Unless you order a surf and turf I guess!

It was a Monday night, so quite quiet. The food was lovely, it was hot where it needed to be and cold where it needed to be. My first time there and I would say just niggly things. Someone of our party specifically requested for something NOT to be on their plate but it came anyway. I asked for cream with my chocolate fondant but it came with ice cream, so had to wait to get someone's attention to change it. But I will go back and give it a 2nd chance!

My experience with Middleton steakhouse was incredible!, The architecture of the old bank was beautiful and the design of the astronomy y signs was like eating under the cosmos, First of all, My mozzarella salad was just devine the buffalo mozzarella and beef tomatoes was the perfect starter, The sirloin medium rare steak was so nourishing and juicy, not a trace of fat on it and the peppercorn sauce was delicious touch. Then the Cheese board just finished it all of nicely, sweet Chutney, Creamy cheeses and lightly salted crackers. Our Waiter Josh, Was amazing, His waiting skills and polite manners were very welcoming and a very helpful young man, He served our drinks with such precision and asked if we needed anything else.

So I suppose I didn't have high hopes for vegetarian options from a steak house, but was pleasantly surprised. There were lots of things to choose from. Disappointingly for a Sunday, we were informed that no roast dinners were available, even though we had booked a table and the restaurant didn't seem overly busy when we arrived. The interior has been beautifully restored, making it a very pleasant space. Our waitress was welcoming and friendly. However, service was slow, and although our orders were taken in good time we waited for everything. Food took ages to arrive. It was all very nice, but definitely on the pricier end of what you might expect to pay. So, not really punching above (or even at!) its weight at present, but all issues that are easily resolvable.

Went for our works Christmas meal. First impressions were good. We were not disappointed; food was all lovely. I had a prawn cocktail; very nice, a good size. I then had a fillet steak which was served with fries, a large mushroom and half a large tomato. Dessert was chocolate sponge pudding with chocolate sauce and custard. My steak was cooked to perfection, I can honestly say it's the best steak I've ever eaten. So tender it melted in the mouth. Fries were crisp and not greasy at all. If I had to criticise my only complaint would be that the steak did not come with the offer of any sauce, just mayonnaise, which I love but felt wasn't classy enough to compliment such a lovely steak. There were 10 of us and we were all served our steaks medium rare, closer to rare, which 2 of our party sent back as they preferred well done, that would be my only other criticism. My meal was fabulous and I would definitely reccomend to those looking for a decent steak! We paid £29.95 for 3 courses.

They do an early bird set menu which is fantastic for the price with the amazing quality still.. And also the main menu is incredible wide range of choices of steaks and sea food. I'd definitely recommend this place for a date night with your partner as the setting is nice and being inside the old bank building the level of detail in the architecture is pretty. Price wise it is expensive if esting from the main menu but you get what you pay for regarding the food which is top notch. They serve only bottles drinks. The dauphinoise and the onion rings were also great but my sister in laws dauphinoise just cannot be beaten. Booked a table for 7:30pm. Actually got our table at about 7:50pm. I don't see the point in booking the table if you're still going to be made to wait, especially when there are tables available. Was directed to the bar which was quick to serve but took at least 10 minutes to be able to pay for the actual drinks. The waiter was great when we actually saw him but the place was way too busy which is not his fault.

A top quality transformation of one of Leicester's historic buildings is a joy to behold. Just a short walk from Leicester Cathedral, this restaurant offers a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The menu is the same as any other Middletons so if you've eaten with them before then you know pretty much what to expect. Service can be a little haphazard at times, but if you can attract one of the server's attention then all is well.

The £10 set menu 3 course lunch is incredible value and the food is lovely. Drinks are a bit pricey but chilled water is provided, highly recommended.

Haloumi and vegetable kebab followed by bean burger, fries and two salad sides, one included in the price. I chose the beet and Waldorf salads. My guest had the mixed grill medium rare and chose ribeye over sirloin. Haloumi kebab was lovely warm and soft but a little too salty for me. Salads were fresh & crunchy but quite small, I would have gladly exchanged some of the extra mayonnaise for a few more Waldorfs (thank you Mr Fawlty), I mean walnuts. Bean burger was perfect texture and really nice, as was the bun. Mixed grill was good too but if you order medium rare explain you want the rib eye medium rare and not the lamb chop as well. Really good service throughout and nice to have Estrella & Peroni available. If you leave a tip try to pay cash direct to server because I think the company does not pass the full amount on if you add it to the card (shame on them).

10/10 garlic & chilli skin on prawns 10/10 brie wedges and chilli jam 10/10 lamb rump 10/10 for the softest medium rare 12oz ribeye i have had for a long time and another 10/10 for the half lobster I had with it. 9/10 for the Barolo Riserva only because I think it is £10 over priced The only negative for us would be the fries (not good at all) why not change to steak cut chips.

I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately on both special occasion meals with the family I've asked to sit upstairs and been told I could on the phone when booking the table and then when I get there I cant because it's not open sunday only Friday and Saturday but on the phone when I booked they knew it was a sunday and said I could sit upstairs, very disappointing, however the food was lovely and staff were nice but I dont understand the point of the upstairs it never seems to get used!

We've visited Middletons on four occasions now, and each time is just as good as the previous.... the service is outstanding, it's attentive without being overbearing.... food has been cooked to perfection each time and the wine list is great, so much so that the Malbec we had on our first visit was so good we haven't tried another one yet..... Leicester has itself a fabulous eatery with a great atmosphere .....
