Amazing Service, the staff were attentive and friendly. We got the lunch menu we both got cheddar mushrooms and bread for starters which were lovely and then steak frites with an additional peppercorn sauce each and also mac and cheese. The food was really tasty and good value for money. The only thing is there was a 20% tax added to the food which we only learned of upon receiving the bill but it was great value for the quality of food we received.

In all honesty we were looked after brilliantly. The service was impeccable and the food was exquisite. Had the Chateaubriand and Rothschild Wine. I particularly enjoyed the Camembert mash! Finished off with a wonderful Tiramisu :D Even rang the bell on the way out!

The Pork Belly starter is woefully inadequate.. Two little slivers of ... something.. I barely got to taste it. That is just greedy. Our steaks were underdone when it was clear we said "medium rare" .. now mistakes are mistakes and so we were swiftly assisted with good food returning.. But A STEAKHOUSE specialty is getting their STEAK RIGHT, not so! By the steak was nice and tasty and adequate. Please note, damaged steak knives are not a good reflection neither. The steak knifepoint was broken off and bent inwards, seriously, no one checking this?! The main gripe be far was the rip-off two sliverings of piek belly on the starter menu.. DO NOT ORDER this..

I've never seen this place as your typical chain. The food and service always match the menu pricing and the quality was as high as I'd ever expect from this place. My sirloin was a fine definition of rare and the porcini mushroom sauce spot on.

Went for lunch with my hubby, had the lunchtime menu he had meatballs and I had mushrooms oh my word they were lovely. We had the 50 day aged steak for mains thinking we would get a small steak how wrong we were it was gorgeous cooked to perfection. I had the chocolate ice cream and we both had a hot drink . Can't recommend highly enough we shall definitely be going back soon . The young lady who served us was really lovely as well . So thankyou for a great lunch x

My first time at a Miller & Carter, and of this one is anything to go by, it won't be my last! The service was quick and friendly, the food was absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the girl serving us. The prices are higher than some restaurants, however, you are paying for quality. Excellent!!

Always a good meal here. Decent parking and customer service. Reasonable value for money and the steak is always good. Wine is good and decent selection of other drinks on offer too. We had the butcher's block to share and it was plentiful, well cooked and tasty, tiramasu and crumble for pudding which were delicious too. Went again this evening and enjoyed another butcher's block although not quite as good as previous times. What was frustrating this evening was the slow service time which was not the waiters fault but the skeleton staffing structure especially for a night with an offer on that brought more people in!

Went for birthday meal as our birthday boy wanted a good steak. First time at M &C. I have to commend our waiter as service was exceptional! Food for 3 year old good. However our steaks varied in chewability but we're well cooked! Some were tender others quite a challenge. Lager had gone off and taken off bill immediately, also an Espresso was replaced as watery. Had a good social evening but still looking for the ideal steakhouse.

Today we were served by Mark who was fantastic. He’s was on his own serving more than 15 tables during a busy lunch service. He never stopped, absolutely worked his socks off with the customers. The service was fantastic and the food just as good. Kids loved the mac & cheese and the apple pie was also a winner. Thanks mark!!!

I'll preface this review by saying I eat at a lot of steak restaurants and can cook steak to order myself. (In my household our order is blue, rare, medium rare and jerky!) The menu for this chain is great. I thoroughly enjoy the wedge/sauce/chips combination with the steaks. The steaks themselves are generally very high quality. I particularly like that the lobster tails are very reasonably priced and very delicious. The macaroni cheese is also a delicious side dish. Only criticism is that chain-wide (we've also tried Enderby) the chefs tend to undercook the steaks by a little bit. It could be the difference in resting time, or time on the heat, but its consistant across the whole table and chain. Rare comes borderline blue, well done is still quite pink etc. Better under than over as they can always cook it more but if you're squeamish err on the side of more done. I'll be ordering medium rare rather than rare on future visits. Our waitress on our last visit seemed a little bit flustered and made some minor blips on our drinks orders (a missing drink and they came after starters had already arrived), but everything was solved very quickly and we still tipped generously. We ended on cocktails and mini puddings which were very pretty. See pic. We were too hungry before this to take pictures! If you have the choice to attend this outlet or Enderby, I'd go here. Generally a calmer atmosphere. The kitchen, which we could see from our table, seemed calm and in control and steaks were cooked closer to where I'd expect. (Enderby serve everything mooing!) Overall, a really excellent menu structure which gives them the edge in some ways for me. Just order your steaks a smidge more done than you would normally for the optimal experience!

I decided to book a table on recommendation from a family member. As I had not been in many years for a meal. So booked a table for my husband's birthday. We went for 2.45 and had the two course special menu we had the starter and a rump steak witch you pay a small supplement for. We'll the starter was excellent and hot and the rump steak was excellent too and cooked to perfection. The meal altogether was superb and of excellent quality food The service was excellent too our waiter who was Santino was very polite and very professional we we're very happy overall

Woww! If you want AMAZING service, this is the place✨ I was SO impressed by the food but mostly by the service!! Can't fault this place. Our waitress Emily made the whole experience perfect, she had patience, she was so polite and friendly, she gave advice on what to have, was really knowledgeable about all the food, literally went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional! And it felt so natural and not fake like some service you get. She was always happy to help out, super speedy, made sure everything was exactly how we wanted& was such a lovely person👌🏼 we briefly mentioned it was my Dad's birthday when we arrived and when I went to the toilet she asked my Dad's name then when I came back she brought over his desert with a candle and his name written by it💖 I've eaten at so many high end restaurants and the service here beats every other place I've been to! We booked dinner for Christmas Day. One of our party had a bad fall and couldn’t make it so they packed everything up for her in containers so we could take it to the hospital and didn’t charge us for her meal! The staff are absolutely lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating. We all enjoyed our dinner and will be returning next year.

We come to Rothley often as it is our go to place for food and drinks. Never once have I had a bad meal or drink, staff are friendly and inviting always a warm welcome from the moment you step through the door, nothing is to much trouble. We booked Miller and Carter Rothley to celebrate our daughter's A Level results. As we drove onto the car park, the building seemed a bit tatty and grubby. I requested a quiet table when I booked online but we were shown to a table under a speaker playing loud music and next to a table of several noisy young men. I asked if we could move and it seemed to be a big ask / an issue with questions and unnecessary comments ... Just move people if they aren't happy - there were plenty of tables as it wasn't busy! We were moved to another table, away from the speaker but still near the noisy lads. This table was sticky and dirty and wobbly and I didn't want to handle the dirty, dog-eared drinks menu that had seen better days. Sigh. Please clean your tables. The highlight of the evening was the food. Our fillet steaks were excellent and served within a reasonable time, if a little overpriced. My daughter was told they were both rare when they were served as she asked the waiter which one was the rare one (I had ordered medium rare and I wasn't at the table when they were served), so I had to call the waiter over just to make sure. My daughter had to ask for ketchup and mayo - we weren't asked if we wanted any condiments. People pay a lot to eat here and the food is great but everything else is lacking. What about the 'dress code'? There isn't one. The music pumped through the speakers is annoying and unnecessary. Perhaps the price would be more justifiable if everything else matched the quality of the food. I can buy a good fillet steak for £10 and cook it just as well as the chef did. What a shame I can only give three stars and they are purely for the quality of the steaks. I really wanted to sing your praises to other steak loving family members and friends and to come back with them but I won't be returning.

We visited you on what was our 33 wedding anniversary with two friends I did ask a few people what it was like before I booked Iwas told it was good .But I must say it exceeded my expectations The service was wonderful from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out we were treated with respect and the food was wonderful. I've heard so many good things about Miller & Carter and most recently from my partner who visited with her son. She enjoyed the meal and ambiance so much she insisted we all visit as a family... table for six please. Being greeted by the Manager at the door front desk is a touch i was immediately impressed with. It gives a confident 'I'm running the show tonight, I'm responsible for your experience here' message that should reassure the customer. The staff were courteous, timely and efficient with the right level of friendly. The ambiance, comfortable seating and quality surroundings ranging from the super clean gold foil blocked menus to the decor gave the experience a feel of class. And now for the food. We had a mix of mains ordered, mine being the 12oz rib eye steak. As is sometimes the case, I was a little unlucky with my steak and its fat content and felt a touch disappointed. That said the rest of the cut was cooked to perfection. Everybody else in the party enjoyed perfect cuts of meat, the presentation, a simple statement of less is more. The food was delicious, the night was perfect, thank you to you all.

This evening (13/10/22) we celebrate my dads 60th and Mark our waiter was amazing. The food was obviously amazing as usually and I have been coming to Rotherly Miller and Carter for years now and have never been disappointed. Tonight at the end of the meal a family member in the group became very faint when walking and collapsed. I just wanted to say a huge huge thank you to Mark because without even thinking he caught the family member that had fainted and lowered him to the ground safely and called other members of the team which where all extremely helpful and caring. The manager at the time was extremely helpful too and caring and everyone who was involved was very understanding. Thank you so much for all the help and want to make sure Mark knows how grateful we are for being there for my grandpa without Mark he could of hit his head and things could have been very different. Thank you Mark and to all the team.

Asked for medium rare, it did come rare but tasted good so didnt question but watch out for that if you prefer beef to be exactly how you like it. Would go back for sure!

Absolutely amazing. Desserts where superb. As always. A fabulous time out. Cant wait for the next visit.

Amazing food and excellent service. I took my mum for a last minute lunch. We had the 3 course lunch menu. We were blown away by the taste and care that had gone into each dish. All the dishes were absolutely amazing so tasty. We had the mushroom starter then the sea bass followed by the apple pie with custard. So many incredible flavours! We usually always go for the steak which has always been top quality but thought this time we would have a change...thank you, amazing food and service. See you very soon.!!

She didn’t want a tip from us which we were happy to give to her which is rare in service she said she just hoped we’d had a great time. She was knowledgeable about allergies and quick to identify the menu choices that would be safest for the customer too. All of this lends me to feedback a glowing reference for the quality of the experience but mainly made perfect by the allocation of Emily to our table! We came here for fathers day. It was an okay experience, starters came out differently to any other Miller & Carter I've been to with the Chipotle sauce separate to the chicken not on top. Lettuce wedge had puddles of water in every layer, & hardly any topping on it (ranch & croutons). Steak was nicely cooked however it did have fat on which I wasn't expecting for a £30 fillet steak. Service was nice and friendly.

I am unable to eat black pepper so struggled with the menu - I had to have prawn cocktail to start as everything else had black pepper in it. Then I was not able to have any sauce with my steak as they all had black pepper in. I was very surprised that the chefs were not able to make a fresh sauce without black pepper in it.

Everything was fantastic. We were with our children and grandchildren, celebrating my 70th birthday and as soon as we arrived, the staff were lovely, no rushing us , just whenever we were ready to order was fine. Then the food arrived, our son in law had a nachos starter, I don't really like nachos, but these were amazing!!! Poor Stef couldn't believe how we all ploughed into his starter. Then the steaks arrived.....oh my stars, totally delicious, how they cook them like that I'll never know but they are the very best I've ever had! I cannot think of a single thing that was off with the meal, the onion loaf is to die for and even the lettuce is something else and the service was excellent, all eight meals arrived at the same time and all really hot. Although the price tag was a lot more than we're used to, our son and daughter paid, but it was worth every penny and we can't wait to visit again.

Really good choice of steaks and sides, probably not great though for the vegetarians in your life! Three courses for two, with sides and cocktails came to c£80, not cheap but certainly not bad value for quality of food and service.

Everything was fantastic, I wish I could give this place 5 stars! Excellent options on the menu - I love steak and there are many different options to choose from. I ordered a medium 12oz sirloin cooked to perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I didn't have room for dessert (although I fancied 2 of the options they had on offer) so I opted for an Elder and Wiser cocktail instead (it contains egg white so bonus protein) - fantastic! The reason I had to rate my experience 4 stars is because I ordered the pancetta, avocado and mozzarella salad on the side and they gave me the salad with lettuce instead of avocado and didn't even say anything! But I noticed! When I pointed out the error to the waiter, he offered to bring me a new salad with the avocado in, or simply add the avocado to mine so I opted for the latter option... He came back with the salad and said that unfortunately they had run out of avocado and he didn't know and apologised. Poor service/communication between staff at the least! That was a great shame. Nevertheless, I shall definitely return to Miller & Carter for more steak - not necessarily to Rothley though.

It was our first visit to Miller and Carter today for our mother's day meal. We were were warmly greated and very promptly directed to our table by very welcoming staff. The food was absolutely fantastic and well worth the price. The steaks, lobster and the scallop and prawn dish were all cooked to perfection. A special mention and thanks to our server, Saxon. He was very professional and was attentive without being overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. If we have one little quibble it was that the restaurant was a little on the chilly side but that wasn't enough to ruin our visit. Many thanks.

Very hit and miss. Great when it first opened and the staff have generally always been friendly. Feel standards recently though have slipped. Steak experience; was ok but cold, could be better seasoned, bernaise was served warm (you could tell it had been sat under a serving lamp for some time). You can usually excuse a long wait for being short-staffed but they seemed to have adequate staffing on this night (the restaurant wasn't even full!) Disappointing considering you're paying an average of £36 per head. 20mins - from seating to our first And ONLY drinks order; we were asked whether we wanted to order another bottle of wine AFTER the main course; poor form considering this is a meal that would leave one very thirsty! Was given the Set Menu for Dessert. Another 20 minute wait before the waiter came up to us and found this very limited, so didn't bother (it would have been good to have seen the main menu for dessert and been given the option!) Asked for the bill...Another 20 minute wait! I eventually had to get up and ask one of the waiting staff for my bill given how long it was taking. I found our waiter had added on Side dishes we hadn't ordered and requested this be changed. All in all, food was okay - good variety of options and a great place for a birthday or celebration.. but not as special as it once was. Our experience could have been made better by staff who were more attentive, and less confused and those with a little better knowledge of the menu.

Hi I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant and have a loyalty card. We went for a birthday meal and when paying the bill I said i'd pay and they could transfer into my account to make it easier. All well and good I thought, I have a £25.00 loyalty voucher to use as well. Then one of the guest said they had a £40.00 gift card which was fine with me. The complaint I have is that I couldn't get my loyalty stamp for them saying I was using 2 vouchers. This type of scenario is the 2nd time now and reason for my complaint. The £25.00 loyalty voucher is a voucher yes but the gift card is basically cash. So loosing out on 2 of 4 stamps which equals £35.00 I have basically been denied £17.50 worth of loyalty stamps in less than a month, The last receipt number is 49/4610 I would appriciate some kind of redemption for the 2 vouchers stamps lost due to a system that cannot tell the difference between a voucher and a gift card which is basically cash as someone paid £40.00 cash for the gift card. If there counted as a voucher then they are quite a waste of time to gift someone!

However the till system seems to be prehistoric, they mess it up big time when it comes to splitting a bill between a table. Sort your EPOs out or train your staff on how to use it correctly, poor staff attitude ruined a nice night out. We live in the village and this was our first time visit, since it changed to Miller & Carter, which was a delayed birthday meal from late March. We had booked a table for 3 and where shown straight to it, there was lots of space between tables, so no need for any dividers which made it feel so much better, very welcoming, relaxed and reassuring. We were looked after really well, some initial drinks and a chance to look at the menu, then food came in a very reasonable time. We had sirloin steak, upgraded to the chunky chips and two of us had an extra side of mushrooms. The food was perfectly cooked, the chips were awesome and the sauces were great, but it would have been good to have more than a quarter of a beef tomato. The side of mushrooms were really nice, button mushrooms and plenty of them. We finished with a final drink, with two of us ordering coffees, which were not on the menus. We asked for a weak Latte and that is exactly what we got, we have asked many places for this and most can not get it right, so bonus points. We were expecting it to be a but more expensive, compared to many places, which it was, but the quality of the food, the great service and surroundings, meant it was good value for a special meal.

It has a well decorated, classy bar area and there are three areas for dining that are light, airy and spacious. I imagine this would also be a great summer venue with its well laid out outside areas. The choice on the menu is excellent and prices are reasonable. Our waitress, Kathryn, was professional, knowledgeable and friendly without being overly so. The food arrived promptly and looked and tasted excellent. I really like this franchise and have been to the Wollaton one many times. We went on a Monday night to the Rothley one and it was quiet, but it still took a while (15min) plus for the drinks order to be taken and at least 10 minutes after that for the food order. The food took about 45minutes to arrive and though we were a big group the restaurant on a whole wasn't that busy. I can understand its the time of year where the staff get ill and aren't available, but when my steak arrived medium well instead of medium (which is the best way to serve the steak I ordered) it was barely warm as were my fries others on the table said their food was almost cold too. It didn't help that the restaurant was also cold and we weren't the only ones still wearing coats. It wasn't bad, but I didn't want to stay to try any of the new desserts that I was excited about either.

Very disappointed, ps the server the first time we visited was older than the staff today but had charm and character and made you feel welcome and special, all your staff need to be of the same standard and business would triple when word of mouth gets around.

Second visit with my wife, son and his partner. All Covid guidlines in place and the place was spotless and every table is spaced out so no problems with social distancing. The food is very tasty and cooked to perfection. Starters, mains and desserts all very good along with very good cocktails. The service is the best we have had in any chain pub/restaurant and really made us have a quality night. Slightly more expensive than a gastro pub but definitely not over priced for the quality and service. Will be back without a doubt.

I visited here on Saturday night with a friend. Upon arrival we where taken to out table quickly. I ordered the prawn and crayfish as a starter, the prawns were still frozen! I dont like to make a fuss so I just did not eat it. It was really unpleasant, no one wants to pay £7 for a starter that's frozen. I decided to try the buttermilk chicken instead of steak and it was ok, 2 huge chicken breasts a sweetcorn puree, and cheesy potatoes the sauce I did not try as it just did not look appetising at all. The pudding was lovely. The service was quick and the staff are friendly. I would not go back as I paid £42 for a meal I was unhappy with.

Dinner took a long time to be served despite making a booking for an appointed time, we were kept in the bar but unfortunately all of our party were teetotal requiring food not alcoholic drink. It was disappointing to find that not one single energy drink was available from the bar tariff, though the food was nice and staff were attentive, the order itself took a long time to cook. We had an 8:30 booking, the children fell asleep at the tables, and we finally got our bill just before closing time.

The bar is located on the left hand side of the restaurant if you get there early and fancy a drink before or after your meal. Me and my partner went there for Valentine’a Day this year. The food was great, we had the Chateau Briand and it was cooked beautifully. We waited around 40 minutes past our booking time to go to our table which was a bit of a disappointment. The bar staff were less than enthusiastic and not welcoming. We were going to go to a local café for brunch but it was so late I decided it was a better option to go for lunch, we picked the 3 course option at £13.95 pp I started with the BBQ wings and my partner had the deep fried calamari, both great starter's. We both had the sirloin (this did have a supplemental charge) it was an excellent choice and couldn't fault the cooking time, just as we requested, medium rare. For sweet we both opted for the profiteroles, naughty but incredibly nice, no need to splash out on drinks either just ask for water. Ok so not a cheap lunch but for a bit of a treat was really enjoyable, service was also very good

Been a few times. Poor night tonight Sat 28th April. Ordered sharing platter, the Nachos were soft and soggy so we returned them, second lot were just the same, third lot were only just marginally better. The main course chips were stone cold and had to be returned. T bone steak was very dried out and not at all juicy( med rare). But on a positive note my wife's 16oz Rib eye was absolutely perfect. Not really good when you are paying over £100 for a meal for two.

3 stars is excellent for a steak restaurant in the UK. Had an enjoyable experience. Always a little surprised when in the UK to hear something can't be done because, "that's the way the till (check out) is programmed". Steak was good. I took a dry aged rib-eye, depth of flavour suggested 3 maybe 4 weeks. Personal preference is to stay the heck away from wet aged steak. Heard good comments from table near us regarding their wet aged. Im sure this restaurant will develop.

First time visitors with no booking. Put on a 4 person table so plenty of room for 2. To be honest I would go back in a heart beat. Place looks amazing our waiter Chris was knowledgable and attentive. No repetitive "is everything ok" rubbish. My steak was perfect. (Medium) her burger was amazing. I've had the lamb steak dish before and a special - Prime beef and reef burger - the lamb was excellent, and I wished I had it again instead of the burger on my second visit. The burger was ok, cooked well done rather than medium but was good quality meat and the lobster fritter thing inside was nice too but I wouldn't go for a burger here again. I tried a friend's beef steak, ribeye I think, cooked medium- that was excellent and would recommend. Service was good, friendly staff fairly quick service of food and it's a very nicely furnished restaurant inside with loads of parking outside.

Went here on a Tuesday night at about 6:45pm, no booking. Was told by a pretty stressed guy that they were very busy, but a table for 2 could be ready in 30mins, had a drink at the bar. After 40mins no sign of a table, gave the guy a nudge and he said it was free, he just needed to clear it down. Another 15mins passed and eventually he came back to walk us through.. but the table wasn't ready! He had to sit us hurriedly on a table for 4 instead... Looking around it was clear the problem wasn't how busy they were (half of the restaurant wasn't being used), it was how under-staffed they were! 2 guys rushing about trying to do front of house, serve and clear tables when they could, then only 1 waitress covering off everything else. However at least it seemed the kitchen was on top of it, as food was prompt and really decent (although bresaola had been under a hot-lamp for a bit too long - a symptom of the staffing levels, not the quality of the food). In summary the food was really good, the service and front of house was as good as it could be under the very stressful circumstances, tough for serving staff when customers are coming through already pre-cheesed off before they even sit at their table. Shout out to all of the staff for trying their absolute hardest (didn't get any names). Get some more staff and this would be a really decent place to go I reckon!
