Location: Great - Loads of parking around - although at peak times you may struggle! bear in mind. Restaurant itself is very clean and very busy, it has a indian sweet section as you enter ( must add these are AMAZING) The food: absolutely spot on, very high quality food, generous serving of what you actually order, for example, you order paneer karahi, you will get a karahi dish with LOADS of paneer pieces. (typical of some places to give more "gravy" and only a few pieces - SO WELL DONE GUYS!) The chapattis taste exactly like home made style, same goes for naan, another huge plus! The customer service is brilliant, the waitress serving was lovely and even the other staff on the indian sweets section were great. This is a VERY busy place, I went on a Wednesday evening and it was packed out! This speaks volume Highly recommend this place to anyone, I will be back here. Impressed with everything, the restaurant does not ask for tips, but I HAD to leave a tip for the waitress. (hard to find smiling service nowdays) The wait is very little, even with 75% tables occupied, we only waited at most 10 -15 minutes. Will certainly be back here again.

A very nice restaurant and takeaway. Food was very tasty. We loved the chilli chips. Service was excellent and fairly speedy. We came quite early and by the time we finished there were people waiting for a table. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant however I believe they do serve alcohol. Overall worth a visit.

Lots of great vegan options. Best Indo Chinese food I've ever had. The only criticism I have is that some of the waiting staff might not clearly know what the vegan options are so it is better to query management directly. The other thing to expect is a long wait. But in this case I would say it was worth it because the food they served us yesterday was amazing.

We love the food here and cannot rate it highly enough. Mithaas is a very popular restaurant and take-away, they have regular customers who enjoy the atmosphere and food quality. They cook everything from scratch so that it tastes the best it can be. The chef will cook to your specifications and is excellent when it comes to dietary requirements. They are used to their customers asking about dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free and have a good understanding of allergies. I never feel awkward or uncomfortable like I have done in other restaurants. Mithaas is a paper napkin place, so very casual, but many people reserve a table here,dress up to celebrate and take advantage of the bar. Our favourites from the menu are the Potato Bhajias, Bel Puri, Vegetable Methi Tawa Fry, and their lovely steamed Basmati Rice. Please see the photo of it piled onto my plate. This restaurant offers high chairs for the little ones and has separate toilets for male and female. The premises is on the same level and the entrance is a standard single door size. The staff are very accommodating and will do all they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Absolutely amazing takeaway food, paneer curries are full of flavour and naan is perfectly soft and fluffy. The desert items available behind the counter are delicious as well. Be sure to order well ahead of time as the restaurant is often extremely crowded in the evenings and waits can be very long with big queues to order or collect. Because of this service isn't the most friendly or attentive either, so it might be worth ordering over the phone before you come to the shop.

Really tasty Indian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Great location on the busy Narborough Road, not far from town but on the way to/from major routes in/out of the city. Thali meal, which includes rice, two curries, dhal, onion bhaji, chappatis and a little sweet is an utterly brilliant bargain at £5 for a decent portion, which comes in a little plastic tray that seems recyclable. Staff are occasionally quite aloof and not always that attentive, which can sometimes feel like rudeness, but they probably don't intend come across that way. Apart from potential delays that are probably attributable to the casual nature of the atmosphere and relaxed manner of the staff, the food is usually served quite quickly. Highly recommended.

Been to mithaas for a few take out items before and was very pleased, this time we sat in, we had to chole bhatura and the special thali , recommended by our waiter Chetan, a great selection of tastey food which cost 13.98 pound, very clean, plenty of choice, and if you want to take out a selection of Indian food including indian sweets you have a counter in the same restaurant .the disable toilets are in the ladies.this is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant accessible for wheel chairs

Amazing take away restaurant although they have a dining in section as well. I prefer their take away food though. £5 for a thali meal with 3 chapattis, rice, 2 curries, a savory treat, a sweet... Amazing value and great flavour. I love that they're vegetarian as well. Their 3 for £1 samosas are famous in the area (ask for the green sauce with it!!). And their selection of sweets are out of this world. In summary, it's good value for money, amazing flavour and variety.

Moved to the area not long ago; this place was highly recommended by my Landlady so I tried it... Amazing... The food (despite my inability to know what they are or how to pronounce their names) is delightful... You can tell that the food is homemade and fresh; I'd never had a "real" Indian sticking to the British Indian Kormas and Tikkas instead... But I'm glad I took the leap... The Staff are so friendly and helpful... I have an uncommon allergy (to bell peppers/chilli/the family) and they were more than happy to ask the chef's (for dishes they didn't already know) what didn't contain this! Good work, Mithaas Team, you've made a new regular!

It was popular and so service was a bit slow, however all starters came out at once as did mains, but after nearly an hour. Quality of food was good, not too much oil, good blend of spices we finished it all despite having over ordered! Although the food is worth the trip, the wait makes a special trip less worthwhile.

The Thali was amazing and very reasonably priced at £6 per person. The only thing that let this place down was the service - had to ask three times for my drink. Great variety of vegetarian food. If you like Indian food, you must visit Mithaas in Leicester. Parking is easy and free for an hour just outside the restaurant.

Excellent for good quality, gluten free, vegetarian food. When I made an order, I inquired about some of the dishes being gluten free. The man was very knowledgable and even offered to make gluten free versions of some of the dishes that ordinarily contained gluten. I opted for the chilli paneer, which I found to be extremely tasty. The food is always great, and there's lots to choose from on the menu. Sometimes service can be a little slow though. If you order takeaway, my advice is either to phone and then collect when it's ready, or choose from the more limited selection of curries in the chiller which you heat up yourself.

Really nice little restaurant. Most trade is in the shop side which is a deli counter selling a very wide range of delicious treats. Service can be slow as the deli is very busy Nice and relaxed and very good value for money. I must stress I love meat and have it for most meals, mithaas has taught me so much about flavour and to stop focusing on the meat! Give it a try the staff are always very happy to help if your not sure what something is I recommend the sizzler..

The most authentic Indian food in Midlands for sure! Totally reminds me of the food back home. It is low on oil generally, freshly made, served hot and wholesome food with loads of variety too. Not to mention, it is reasonably priced too. Their Thali is the best. It is a family run business. Generally, you have to patient for food to be served. But if you do not go there with a ravenous hunger, you will give it 5 stars. All they need to do now is crash the time between order and food on table. then they will have nailed it totally. ALL IN ALL - TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Food is normally very good. Quite local for us and lots of choice. Minor niggle is that they don't always deliver (depends if they're 'too busy or not'), and sometimes the curries can be a little too oily. Because I like living on the edge, I froze my leftovers and finished them 2 months later, and did not get any stomach ache either.
