We have visited this restaurant on 29th march 2022. We have ordered for tandoori mixed grill sizzler, jeera chicken and few parathas. Order got delay so we have asked for take away. Food was not good, I don't want go on very details. Please check you marinated stuff how old is it? I have thrown out the entire food, was not edible and ordered some pizza for our dinner.

Absolutely stunning meal delivered by two lovely lads, one even apologised for using a car because his bicycle had broken. The meal we ordered was amazing, the best Indian meal we have had in Leicester. Full of flavour, piping hot & delivered promptly. We had some lovely complimentary sides too which we thoroughly enjoyed, a very nice touch for two new customers. I highly recommend this take away service, exceptional.

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Like most of us theses days I've probably eaten thousands of Indian/Bangladeshi meals most of which I've enjoyed; but the Nawaaz Restaurant delivers the experience in a completely different way which makes it a really lovely and authentic experience. The food is very very good, looks to be made on the premises. We had about 8 waiters serving us all at the same time, when the food is ready it's served altogether, the table is empty one serving and full, over full the next. There were 4 of is eating, we ordered 5 starter's the extra one as our neighbouring table ordered it and it both looked and smelt amazing so we had to order one. We then ordered for main meals. We'll give arrived along with four complementary side dishes and a beautiful salad. We asked for wine 🍷 and were asked red or white, we went for white as us bloke's were beer, bless them they went out and up the road to Sainsburys to buy a bottle of wine for us and only charged us what it cost. This is a fabulous business where the customer comes first. The service is authentically Indian, friendly, with a smile and by people who really really want you to have a great experience. The food is great, no, it's better than great its real, it's not all lardy de dar, it's rustic and lovely. Buy your wine before you go, but go.

Went here at around 10.30 on a Saturday night, quite busy given that they close at 12. We were given popadoms and a portion of onion bhajis on the house. The pakoras (onion bhajis) were very tasty, quite a large portion too. For mains we ordered bindi, chicken tikka bhuna masala, nan bread and one pilau and one mushroom rice. We were also given complimentary saag aloo, tadka daal and tandoori chicken. The food was fantastic, I actually ordered the wrong dish I wanted a creamy dish (tikka masala) but a bhuna is definately now an option I would also order. I liked all the dishes, in particular the chicken tikka bhuna masala it was full of flavour but it also had a bit of a spicy kick. To finish the meal we were served free fruit (melon and oranges) and then ice cream. There were lots of waiters in the restaurant and it actually meant the service was brilliant. It was great to the point that I felt like a regular loyal customer (even though it is the first time I have eaten here). The way the staff treat you makes you genuinely happy and positive that you are a customer here.

Absolutely gorgeous! The service here is impeccable and the food is delicious. The chicken tikka comes sizzling on a hot plate and the sag aloo was a great side dish. Nothing was too heavy and I feel fine the next day, if you know what I mean! They brought out complimentary dishes as well - I don't know if this happens every time or if it was because it was close to closing time. It is BYOB but they also serve alcohol. My only regret is that I didn't discover this place sooner!

Had a fantastic experience from start to finish! The staff greet you at the door with friendly smiles and helpful suggestions. We had free flowing water at the table, free of charge, apart from some complimentary appetisers. The food was fantastic, delicious Indian food. After we were done, they brought us completely fruit and ice-cream! And the overall price was so cheap, we couldn't believe we were paying so little for so much food!

I last came here when it was called the Akash. Thought I would try it again after so long. Food was really nice and better than when it was the Akash. Not too expensive either. They don't sell alcohol, but there is a Sainsbury's Local over the road and the restaurant allows you to bring your own drink. Staff and owner are really friendly. Would recommend.

Visited as a family of 4 our son recommended and it did not disappoint. The whole experience was great. The food was excellent in both quantity and quality each dish tasted fabulous. We had a good mix of vegetarian dishes and meat dishes, they were all pretty good. The sizzling tandoori mixed grill was probably the best dish. Definitely left there full up. Staff were very nice and looked after us well. The decor was pleasant, fairly standard for an Indian restaurant. Toilets could do with a refurb. Price was very reasonable and we were happy we got plenty of good food for our money. Will definitely be returning in the future.

I really love this place. For the price, they offer generous portions and always provide complimentary extras. I usually get takeaway - which is quickly delivered - but have eaten in before and the service was great. Will keep coming back and I definitely recommend to others!

I've given 4 stars purely because of the service but if you want real indian food then I wouldnt recommend this place. We sat down and ordered papadoms but the gentleman taking the order said they will give the papadoms for free as a compliment so we are all really chuffed however when the papadoms arrived they tasted like they had been sitting in a pantry for decades! I didnt complain as they were complimentary anyway. Along with the papadoms they also gave us Dal Soup, Sagaloo and Rice as complimentary dishes. For some reason all the curries we ordered were overpowered with turmeric. It's a shame really because the service is really nice but the food is no where near up to the standard. If you're a curry muncher like myself and love your desi indian style curries then I'm afraid you will not enjoy the food here.

Honestly this place deserves more 5 stars! The service was amazing. The staff was so humble and so welcoming. Before we even got our food, the starters just showed us that we’re up for something here. When I got my food, it was sooooo worth the money! It was the best curry I’ve ever had in my life and I regret having a bit of food before going to the restaurant because the taste took me by storm! Whilst digging into our food, we received two more plates of curry as compliment food from the restaurant. It’s not everyday you see restaurants offering compliment food. We thought it would stop there, but no, we received another tray of sizzling chicken tikka straight from the grill and the way it was sizzling and smoking it was like something you’d see in a movie. Another compliment food! 🤯 Honestly this place deserves more credits and more people need to visit. I knew I had a great experience when me and my friends were super exhausted from all the food we had. Guess what comes next. More compliment food! Don’t worry this time it was a light one 😂. We were offered ice cream before leaving. So to conclude, I’m definitely coming back and this time I’m bringing every single person I know. A piece of advice, make sure you go there on empty stomach. Enjoy!

Delicious curry and excellent selection, between the table we had good coverage across the menu and everyone really enjoyed what they had. All the staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. This is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been too . The stuff a very friendly and the food a so nice . Before you order you get portions of varieties of food . After the main course you get fruits and ice cream all complimentary of the house not including some random menu that they include just to make you feel at home . The best place for a good Indian and amazing customer service! The staff here really know how to treat a party and make service effortless. They cater to vegan, allergies, vegetarians and the rest! The owner is a delight who has such a warm friendly nature you'll want to go back just for him. They allow large bookings and handle with ease. The food at Nawaaz is really good. They can accommodate gluten free dishes and have good knowledge about the allergens for gluten free meals. Additionally the food is lovely. We have only ever had a takeaway but, if the takeaway is good then I am looking forward to eating in house. Thank you for great gluten free curry.

Delicious food, friendly and efficient staff, and to call the prices reasonable would be an understatement. There are many complimentary dishes, starters, sides and desert - it is easy to order more than one can eat. "Bring your own alcohol" is great, although some alcoholic beverages are also served. It is inconceivable how some people manage to see so much at fault in this place as to give it the worst possible rating.

The best dining experience ever. After travelling 4 hours from London me and my family were extremely tired and hungry wanting some delicious food. We stumbled across this restaurant which is just a street away from some of the more famous restaurants in Leicester like salt n pepper.. The service was unbeatable we were seated immediately so we had no queues to wait which was ideal as we had another 3 hour journey left to go. We have never felt so comfortable and well treated in any restaurant in our lives. The manager recommended some of the specials we were not disappointed. The food was divine, but the experience was something I will not forget. The manager knew we had a long journey and he immediately brought us complimentary poppadoms and dips before our order. After the meal we were astounded at the hospitality we were given so many complimentary desserts, ice cream for every one of us followed by fruit and then tea. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is wanting to experience excellent service along with exquisite foods and flavours. Thank you nawaz restaurant for this experience we will definitely be travelling back especially for this restaurant all the way from Leeds ... This is a unique restaurant suitable for anyone who desires a tranquil evening with loved ones.

Excellent place, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice Indian meal. We (2 people) ordered a set menu for 2, and it was a huge amount of food, especially for the price. We had to take almost half of it home with us! We were also served a couple of extra dishes not mentioned in the set menu for no extra charge. The service was extremely kind and friendly, and the food appeared pretty quickly. If I had to mention a negative it would be that the curries weren't as spicy/hot as I had expected, but that could just be the dishes we ordered, and the food was so nice that it didn't matter how spicy it was. Seriously, just go there. I know I will next time I'm in Leicester.

These guys know how to woo you and get you to come back for more! Went here before a gig at de Montfort hall so pretty early but the place filled up fast yet nothing took too long. We were a group of 7 that arrived in dribs and drabs and they brought out some poppadoms and some potato hash bites type dish for the early arrivals, all free of charge. It's also BYOB and they are very chill with it, they clear away the empties and provide a bottle opener on the table, so not awkward at all. One of my friends had been before and was basically able to order vegetarian ala cart, he asked for an aubergine and mushroom dish and they just whipped it up for him, it wasn't on the menu. The rest of us had some standard fare and it was great. Then they brought out even more complimentary food, a plate of sizzling chicken thighs, some aloo chat and some mushroom dish I don't remember. Not everyone ordered rice with their main but they still gave everyone a small mixed rice plate. Finally we didn't order any dessert but they brought out some cheap vanilla ice cream which was nice. At this point you must be thinking they're cutting corners somewhere... Well the decor isn't modern, or even this my lifetime, but who really cares. The atmosphere and service is amazing for the price of the food. One more area where they aren't cutting corners... They send your cheque out with bonafide Foxes glacier mints! What more can you ask for?! I was going to say they didn't pay me for this review, but I guess they did with all the free stuff they gave me. Clever buggers.

Nice, and very reasonably priced. We arrived 6pm on a Friday, the restaurant was empty except one table, with the restaurant becoming more full as time went on. Like others we received lots of complimentary items and were over run with food. My king prawn curry was nice and cooked well. I think they used a lot of ghee, which I love in moderation was a little too fatty for my personal preference (some people may love this). My partner had a lamb biryani, had small pieces of lamb throughout. There were about 8 people waiting in this restaurant, (when we arrived this was a 2:1 ratio staff:customers) as as you can imagine the service was great. Probably the best meal out I've had in a long time. Immediate service from the second we set foot through the door, beginning with complementary appetisers meaning there was rarely a moment we were sat idle. Quality food with a balanced range of spices and flavours at a more than fair price. If you want a traditional English curry house, this is the place for you! The menu features all the dishes you'd expect, and service was faultless. I went as part of a large group, with plenty of other tables occupied, and food arrived promptly and was all very good. Excellent service during these tasty Corona times. Was craving a curry and the menu + prices looked very good so I ordered a Tikka Masala set meal for £12. It arrived in 20 minutes, VERY fast. The meal was delicious and HUGE!! I was even given what I believe to be an additional free dish, some sort of vegetable curry. This was hugely appreciated... i ate the Masala with some of the rice + naan, and half the pickle tray. The next day I finished off the naan and pickle tray with the vegetable curry...delicious! Overall 10/10 for speed, taste, price and portion size. very good highly recommend

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time last night before going to Demontfort Hall. Firstly the staff were lovely, happy smiley and friendly. The food was really good but what amazed us was the extra complimentary dishes, it was literally amazing: Complimentary popadoms, chutney, pakora, chick pea with potato, sizzling tandoori chicken, fruit and ice cream. oh i forgot an extra naan. (don't expect to get all these dishes because I would guess it changes) but as our first time I would highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are unbelievably reasonable too. We didn't realise it was a bring your own alcohol but not an issue as we popped out to the supermarket across the road. They do have Cobra and one or two other beers. Wonderful experience from start to finish, been many times and is always our first choice when eating out in Leicester town centre. Within walking distance of the marquis and old horse pubs if you fancy a drink or 2 first, opens early, 5ish I think, take your own alcohol, some served on the premises, we had wine and cobra, just like the food very reasonably priced, lots of complementary food served up, popadums, bahgi bites and a couple of dishes with the meal, including fruit and icecream afterwards, I'm veggie and have a chilli paneer starter followed by mushroom vindaloo, always first rate, my wife generally has a mild chicken dish and what she doesn't finish she takes home.service has always been first rate,we have never booked a table, just dropped in, on one occasion the place was heaving, we were still squeezed in and the service was just as fast and attentive as on all our other visits. Water is provided as standard.can't vouch for everything on the menu and as you can se our choices are fairly typical, but never had a bad meal, look forward to our next visit. The most pleasant surprise you will have is the bill, unbelievably reasonable prices. Thanks nawaaz just for being there, awesome.

If you're considering a curry make sure you head here for world class treatment at a ridiculously good price. We enjoyed a variety of main dishes with expertly cooked naans and were spoiled with complimentary extras throughout including poppadoms and pickles, a sizzling chicken dish, a delicious chick pea with potato side plate, ice cream and coffee. You can’t not love this place. What a fantastic find on London Road. There’s a group of us that usually goes to Nawaaz with the unbeatable combination of booze and curry.
