I've been coming here for over 35 years!! It's one of Leicester's greatest little institutions, great then and great now. Good wholesale vegetarian and vegan food and their help-yourself salad is always fresh and delicious. It's such a shame they've stopped doing their fruit crumbles. Bring it back!!! Once you discover this hidden gem you will always come back again and again.

Visited today for lunch with my friend. The staff are alway's friendly & welcoming. The tables we noticed were spaced apart allowing for socially distanced diners. Everywhere looked spotless including the toilet facilities. We also noted that decorating had taken place with a lovely new carpet installed. Our meal of butternut squash with goats cheese risotto & lentil shepherd's pie with large salad was delicious. We made sure that we had enough room for their famous carrot cake afterwards. We are biased but considering everything is freshly made in house on a daily basis we think this represents exceptional value for money. We would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous little gem of a family run restaurant the next time you are in the city centre - you won't be disappointed!

Love this place went for lunch with Hubby I ate fat too much as the vegan meal was amazing Friday lunch times are booked most weeks as Hubby finishes at lunch time. Lovely people that come in and chat as well feels like a home from home kind of place with really friendly and helpful staff 👍😋

I love this restaurant. Great variety of vegetarian meals and sumptuous homemade cakes. I’m not vegetarian but this is one of my favourite places to eat in town. Service is always super friendly and such a cosy place to take a break from the hustle & bustle of town. A real treasure for Leicester!

Mum used to bring me here as a child and now my daughters enjoy the food here. It's not changed much. Always try and pop in whenever I'm in town. An oasis of calm and tranquility. Their salads are so fresh and tasty and love the cooked from scratch wholesome mains. Rissoles are a favourite. Usually do a 'cake away' too...has to be done. NB its cash only here.

Totally charming with wonderful, wholesome and healthy food. We love the Good Earth. Have been eating there since I was very young. They still make the best rissoles I've tasted and the decor is full of old world charm. The Gourmet evenings are a great night out.

This is a family favourite for both myself, my mum and mother in law, we all love it. Great delicious, healthy and tasty food with good variety of vegitarian dishes. Lovely puddings and friendly staff. I’ve been going since I was 9, I’m now 35 and I absolutely feel like home in the good earth. I’ll be continuing the tradition by taking my kids.

We've known The Good Earth since it was originally The Hungry I and did pancakes. We came here years and years ago when we first got together as a couple and call in every now and then, when we're back in Leicester. It's a bit of a nostalgia thing. However, setting that aside, this is an excellent vegetarian restaurant serving really great food at decent prices. Lovely cakes if you've got room and I rarely have after my main meal.. The Good Earth tends to do a range of vegetable bakes in sauces then gives you the option of adding a small or large salad, loading a plate yourself from a range of salad mixes in bowls. Juices, tea, coffee, wine and beer, though the choice there is limited. Soups are always available and it is worth looking at the menu as there is quite a choice. I think they also do live music now & then in the evening with a special meal. All in all a great place to eat. A bit of a Leicester gem! You don't have to be a vegetarian to eat here as the food is really good and is all made on-site. Staff are lovely!!!

Lovely veggie and vegan place. Loved the inside that felt like a total time warp. Good place if you don't fancy waiting for food as its all kept hot ready for you to pick and eat, good prices as well. Nothing fancy, just good old fashioned homely meals. My curry was a little watery but it was really tasty!

Tucked away down a side street, this place is a little gem. It's been serving delicious, wholesome veggie food for as long as I can remember. Flavoursome, mostly baked, mains served with crunchy salads. Best of all is the charming retro interior - it's a complete time capsule! The prices are very reasonable, which is a good job because it's cash only. Definitely recommended.

Visited for the first time today....I chose my food but wasn't able to pay by card. Staff said it was no problem and to pop cash point after I'd eaten so my dinner didn't get cold!!bless their boots!!not many places these days woul allow or trust you to do that! I will absolutely return...it's a hidden gem...friendly staff...felt like I was eating within a home environment. Excellent food...and reasonable too.give it a try...Leicester needs to ensure we don't loose this delightful place. Thanks!!

Amazing vegetarian and vegan food. It has to be tried to be believed. The salad selection is always different and interesting and the specials never seem to be the same each time i go in. There was a delicious vegan chocolate cake which looked stunning and tasted amazing.

My favourite restaurant in Leicester! The staff are always friendly and helpful, pointing out what specials they have and explaining every different dish they have. The food itself is either vegetarian or vegan, and the staff help you out choosing your dish if you have any allergies or food intolerances. The food has never let me down, and I always look forward coming to this "oldy-worldy" decorated restaurant. Even my meat-eating friends enjoy the food here!

Good, wholesome homecooked food at it's best. Portions are a good size. Staff friendly and helpful. I've been coming here for years and I'm not even vegetarian! I do like to know I'm getting good fresh ingredients cooked in a clean environment though and this place is it. The Lemon Syllabus is to die for and whilst you're here check out the Pot Pourri Shop below. Wonderful little gift shop owned by the same people as the restaurant. You can even buy your favourite dish from the freezer in here!

Lovely, affordable and quirky. My parents took me here years ago and I finally popped back for delicious vegetarian fare the other day. I had tea, a large mixed salad, a roast vegetable bake and an egg all for less than a tenner. I will be back!

Honest, homemade vegetarian/vegan food. There's no menu; you're options are simply what's been freshly made/prepared that day, which is awesome. Staff are super friendly and helpful, especially if you don't know what's going on when you first enter! Recommended :)
