Simply the best food and service on the planet. I am so very fortunate to have this incredible restaurant on my doorstep. The food is just incredible, as are the wines. The espresso martinis are perfect. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Simply wonderful.

Went with my family and had a wonderful experience. The service here is just wonderful as is the food. They specialize in great fish but have lots of other choices too. The food plus the service made it a great family get together. They answered all of our questions and it’s always good when the staff are willing to make recommendations to help choose between the wonderful things in the menu. Also worth visiting their sister restaurant Boboli, not far away, which we did a couple of days later. Both places are fantastic.

Amazing restaurant with excellent food! We booked for a special birthday and staff were so wonderful with all the arrangements before hand & service on the day. Food was delicious, freshly cooked and portions generous. Definitely a place to recommend and return to time n time again. 😊

I have to say, this Restaurant is an absolute gem a small bite of proper seafood, in a non-seaside town! not only do you feel like your eating by the sea when your inside but you leave smelling of the sea!!, food is outstanding and cannot be faulted.... Best seafood I've ever experienced without being abroad! Amazing chef and very thorough staff! 5 star rating. I've read some of the other reviews before posting mine, and experiencing the food myself and to be honest people should take no notice, we all have bad days, were human beings and unfortunately when it involves food thrown in the mix of stress, hard work and a small business trying to keep everybody happy as well as expand their business, paperwork, keeping staff happy, getting the right staff amongst many other issues that arrise when running a small business people should give them a break and not leave a bad review and move on from their experience.. small businesses rely on their reputation and one over reactive person can spoil their lively hood.. be kind people and this restaurant is 100% very good..

One of the best meals I have ever had. A lovely warm and welcoming restaurant with a great menu and very friendly staff. Service was excellent from all of the staff. Food is superb with a wide choice of all courses. For the mains you could choose to have a small or large portion of some dishes which is a great idea. I cannot wait to go again it was that good. Very highly recommended.

We had expected more given the number of stars. One of the starter portions was frankly taking the p*ss, consisting of not much more than three mouthfuls. Mains were average and also on the meagre side. Failed the basic test that matter no how good the food you shouldn't leaving hungry.

We were a bit disappointed with The Lighthouse, having heard many good things. The set supper menu seemed like good value, but we decided to order from the standard “Bill of Fare” because there was only one fish main course on the set menu. When our nibbles arrived, we thought one of the dishes wasn’t what we’d ordered (we got smoked salmon on crostini rather than salmon mousse on sour dough toast) but didn’t make a fuss, since we thought I may have ordered the wrong thing. The bill later confirmed they had got it wrong. I pointed this out to our waitress, but she just said they have similar names and that they’d already told the kitchen it’s confusing, but offered no apology. Everything was cooked well and tasted fine, but the portion sizes were quite small considering the price. When paying £17.50 for six scallops, a bit more pea risotto would have been good, as would more than one prawn in the Thai fish soup (“an aromatic bowl of fresh fish and prawns”). If you want to try The Lighthouse, I’d recommend visiting Tuesday to Thursday and having the set supper menu so that you get better value for money.

The scallops were divine!! Went with three friends and we had nibbles to start and then I had scallops for main - perfect combo! Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. Great wine to match each dish. One of my absolute favorite places to eat - everyone needs to try!

Recommend the captains table tasting menu, all 5 agreed it was perfectly delicious. On previous trip we had paella with tapas starter and sangria. I hadn’t enjoyed anchovies until then! Excellent service not overly attentive. The quality of ingredients, cooking and service is wonderful and we’re looking looking forward to fourth trip.

We had a fabulous take away meal from The Lighthouse ( Wedding Anniversary treat ) It was very easy to order from the menu and pick up exactly at the time we wanted. We live 15 mins away and it stayed hot ( in the insulated containers they package it in.) Would highly recommend and really enjoyed a very delicious meal, especially during lockdown when we are unable to book a table.

We ordered take away from The Lighthouse this evening. The monkfish and Prawn Thai Curry was amazing, the turkey and sausage pie was delightful and our son hasn't stopped raving about the pizza. Cannot recommend this restaurant take away highly enough. Give these guys a call to get first class restaurant quality food in your own house

Good restaurant serving fish as well as a good range of Italian food. Cosy and welcoming. Often very busy since it rebranded from Firenze to the Lighthouse. Service is always reasonable but is better when owner is present. Used to be our go to place for special occasions and we still visit several times a year. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been coming here on and off over the past seven years. It is still pretty good but I didnt like the uncomfy chairs or the price hike on drinks. The food is as good as ever - as is the service but the value for money ratio is certainly less than it was two years ago

Delightful food here, dealt with a large party very well, food was all prompt with very little waiting time between courses, absolutely would recommend to any seafood lover! Only downside is that there is no designated car park and as such you have to park down the road somewhere.
