Visited the lime tree for a family Boxing Day meal today, and wondered why it’s been so long since we last came. Lovely peaceful atmosphere, all staff were friendly and helpful and most importantly the food was amazing!! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice place to eat with the family that is reasonably priced. Compliments to the chefs, and a certain waiter named Jake who was apparently responsible for this wonderfully presented delicious tasting desert. I’d ate my food and hadn’t ordered a desert but when I seen one of these come out for somebody else, it was time to loosen the belt and add a desert to my order! 11/10 guys,,keep up the good work!!😍

Lovely place to eat or to have a relaxing drink at. Brilliant for kids as there is a great kids menu plus a big garden for running around in, 2 bouncy castles, a park and also a woods that leads to a brook to explore. Tasty menu and there is a serve yourself carvery on Sundays. Good choice of desserts too. Highly recommend it and I wish we lived closer to we could walk to it! Lovely decor inside, nice patio area to eat and drink at and the staff are helpful and lovely. Lots of drink choices too.

Came here for lunch for the first time and it is a lovely wee place. Service was ok. A server did spill a glass of coke but did apologise. Accidents happen but obviously does impact the visit. Service was not bad but didn't stand out. The absolute highlight though was the pork belly. An amazing bit of meat cooked to absolute perfection. That by itself is a 5/5. It was meant to come with bubble and squeak but it was more like mash (which I wouldn't have chosen). But good value and portion all in all Inspired by the quality I chose the crumble of the day! It was toffee Apple which sounded amazing. But there was NO CRUMBLE!!! Just a mush of filling with no crumble the texture was off. Was like eating baby food. It was super disappointing after the main.

We had a great night here with friends. Food was delicious and tasty. Good selection on the menu. a wide selection of beers and ales available. It was a busy night, but all the food came out together and warm. I would recommend you call in and try it out.

Food is lovely, staff are great. Massive garden with lots of seating play area and bouncy castle for kids is fab and we will definitely be back. My only slight issue was that a pizza cutter was served with a kids pizza... bit odd especially when my daughter is only 3. Maybe some judgement from staff or ask the parents if this is OK before putting the plate in front of a small child. I did mention this to staff who said they also thought it was weird. Also the kids portions are huge, definately not complaining but maybe having a choice on sizes or something would be good, as there was a lot of wasted food and I think it might have over faced my daughter a bit.

My lady and I lunched at the Lime Tree for the first time today. The staff were smiley but the service was a little slow. The menu was adequate and the grub freshly cooked. A major downside for us was the intrusive and awful background muzak.

Well this a 1st for me. This place was fantastic. From the outset kids were happy playing in the garden. Wife was happy and service was great. Food was well presented and tasted lovely. Front door closed so we were about to walk a way, when someone else came & walked around the Lime Tree and found a rear entrance. Food excellent which we would have missed having only tried the front door. Worth another visit. Might be useful to put a note on the front door advising entrance now at the rear.

We held our sons 5th birthday party at the Lime Tree this weekend and can't speak highly enough of the venue. We were in the marquee which was lovely, warm and roomy enough for 14 children and their adults! The catering was excellent- fresh, tasty buffet food which tailored to our requirenents served with cordial for free kids , tea and coffee. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were kind and attentive throughout. They even arranged for the pub to be opened an hour earlier to accommodate the party. Fantastic job. Very very highly recommended.

Beat all expectations, all plates were cleared and all drinks were gone. My pizza was delicious and very very cream with the two cheese (one being Camembert) - Perhaps overly creamy for some but once I got a bbq sauce, the dish was devoured. The one main dish was plenty which made pudding a choice for another day. The bar staff are outstanding made brilliant recommendations when choosing the drink of my choice - Elderflower gin with lemon tonic water. It was an exceptionally busy day but food came quickly and bar staff were still smiling and happy to give assistance. Would recommend. The outside area had a great atmosphere and it was lovely to enjoy dinner in the sun.

Can't fault this place, especially when the sun is shining and you are able to enjoy the huge beer garden. Very tasty pub food that is reasonably priced and friendly service. They also have an outside bar, so you don't have to trek all the way back down to the actual building each time for a drink. Just recently, they have had bouncy castles in the back garden for the kids. There is enough room for it not to be unbearable. Really like this place and will be back again.

Great place for lunch. Been here a few times since reopening post covid. Personally I've found the meals have improved a lot since and staff and manager at the bar etc are so pleasant and welcoming. Great bouncy castle in action through summer to entertain the kids. Only minor point is I would say that the toilets are in need of a complete refurb as noy very nice and one of the ladies was out of action. All in all a great pub and would recommend.

Pre booked wonderful efficient and polite staff. Very busy and amazing how they keep within the government covid guidelines. Polite in their reminders to customers. Service and food fab. I am gluten free food so enjoyable presentable and good value. Hats off to the chef and waiter service. I have been twice now sat in garden and plan to go again soon. A big thumbs up from me. Remember umbrella and warm clothes!! My only negative is update ladies toilet !

Local pub that is a great family pub. However, food is bang average and pricing of certain items on thier menu is borderline robbery. £3.50 for a extremely measly portion of chips and £3 for a small glass of coke, the management need to look at the pricing structure of their menus.

Enjoyed the food and surroundings, but wasn't as amazing as I'd been led to believe. The young girl who served us at the bar was lovely. Nicely spoken and well presented. When a problem was raised regarding one of our meals, it was dealt with by the duty manager, but not in a quick, direct manner. My horror came when I needed to visit the ladies - yes, they were clean, but for a very lovely looking place, the inside of the door sent a chill down my spine (see pic). Will visit again though.

Large, modern decor, dining pub, rather larger than expected for our lunchtime visit. Quiet on arrival just after noon on a Saturday but rapidly filled up and clearly popular with locals, old & young and several families. Plenty of staff available in a small bar area, very efficient and friendly. Good range of beers (Fuller's London Pride & Sharp's Doombar), lagers and wines. Extensive menu that would suit most palates, reasonably priced for both quantity & quality. After ordering, short but acceptable wait for food, as cooked to order. My 10 oz gammon steak was succulent, served with "proper" chips, fried egg, mushroom, tomato & onion rings was well presented, tasted great and was good value. My companion swapped mash & roast veg for chips & peas, to go with his large steak & ale pie & scoffed the lot. Throughout, the pub is very clean, well maintained and benefits from no TVs. (If I want to watch TV, I do so at home.) Certainly return if again in the area. Good access all areas, with decent loos.

We had a wake at the Lime Tree. 19 adults and one child, all sitting on one long table We opted to choose from the main menus, rather than have a buffet. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive The food was hot and tasty We were all serve quite quickly too. Delicious deserts finished off a very pleasant time. My only gripe was that the restaurant could have been a bit warmer.

A great family restaurant. Every time we have been the staff are very welcoming and helpful. I've not had a bad meal. The food is reasonable priced for the quality of the food. They have a large play area for children in the garden at the back and a beer garden too. The parking is limited tho. I would say book a table as it can get quite busy sometimes at night and definitely at the weekend. Would highly recommend.

Last minute decision to have early dinner out on a Thursday. Didn't book but table for 6 found. Very friendly, professional staff. Very good choice of menu with some dishes not on the menus of 'chains'. Didn't have to wait too long for food and clearly cooked to order. Hot, tasty and well presented. Staff checked all was ok and were appropriately attentive. We didn't have room for dessert but choice again was very good. Will definitely visit again

Great pub with some excellent family facilities and a massive pub garden area. Nicely appointed clean pub with a more formal restaurant also attached. Excellent food at affordable prices and well prepared. Some lovely diversity to the menu. Usually fairly busy which at times can slow down drinks and food ordering. Staff are welcoming and courteous. Parking however at busy times is a nightmare. Only two very small car parks on site, and no street or nearby parking available without stealing places at the local Co-Op store opposite, which everyone does rather frustratingly if you are visiting the supermarket. But a lovely place for a good meal. Recommended.

Lovely food, good choice and good value for money. Staff were pleasant and helpful. New outdoor seating and play are wasn't open when we visited recently but everything else was great. Was getting busy when we left so could imagine it being hectic when at peak times. Book in advance ! Returned 21/7/17 Brought the family back here for brothers 40th birthday. Dropped some birthday party bits off before they opened which they were happy to hold on to and even set up prior to our arrival.(large balloons, confetti, banners- all those things to rub in the age) Service was swift and efficient (even patient with our late arrivals) Dinner was brought out all together (6 staff all brought a pair of plates out each) everyone had their meals at the same time 👍🏻 Needless to say the food was great and nothing was left on the plates. Desert followed on shortly after. Staff kept checking up on us and even did a few drinks orders to make life easier. Service was outstanding, food was brilliant. Outdoor area is now open and looks great (bad weather so couldn't play out) Only downside is a lack of parking

Great food, carvery on Sunday is particularly nice. The burgers are also worth a mention. An ever changing range of guest ales, usually 3 on at a time. The children's play area is brilliant, a large area with quite a few different items. During the summer months there is normally a bouncy castle as well. An outdoor bar for the adults is also open.

Great service! When you are a group of mums with babies, you don't want to hang around for too long. The food was brought to us swiftly and there was never much of a long wait at the bar. A nice cosy restaurant. Simple menu choices, priced low to mid-range. Visited with family late evening on Sunday. Staff were courteous and welcoming. Ordered sweet potato and chickpea curry with rice - a good choice. Very tasty and a cut above the same dish in some other establishments! No hesitation in recommending.

I live round the corner and have been many times. Generally, it's a great pub and serves decent food for the asking price (£10-15 for a main course). The beer garden is large and in the summer they have bouncy castles for the kids, they also have a play area that's there all year round. It can get very busy when the weather is good, but that's generally not an issue as they've got the space to cater for it - they've got a bar in the beer garden too. In terms of the food, the less generic dishes tend to be higher quality. The beef burgers in their burger options could do with being changed up, they're always a little overcooked and aren't the greatest quality. The chicken burgers are good though. Pizzas are okay, but if you're a big fan of pizza you may be a little disappointed. The katsu chicken curry is awesome!

Family birthday lunch. Booking was for 2.00.pm, but we were not seated until 2.25pm. A disappointing start with no apology . The carvery made up for it though scoring 9/10 for presentation and taste. The dining room is light and airy, and we were sat near the window . The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The car park is always tight and full, meaning our party could not park onsite. The short walk afterwards helped the lunch go down. Good job it was dry and sunny.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the Lime Tree, I only live around the corner, but have always preferred the Dovecote, however tonight the food was good but we were served by a really lovely lady called Charlotte who restored my faith in the Limetree. She was so lovely and attentive, however I wasn’t impressed by a man who I assume was her boss who was quite rude and needs to go on a customer management course. Having worked for a high Street bank for 40 years, believe me I know about customer service.

The menu has a few vegetarian and a couple of vegan options so that is a bonus. Unfortunately no soya milk or alternative milk for coffee or tea. It's a bit of a shame as they are letting themselves down. We had mixed reviews on meals on a large table. Mine was fine I had the curry. Husband had pork belly and liked it. Friends had the chicken and goat cheese pizza both were happy but no one raved.....

Meal was ok however as one of our party wasn't having the carvery the waiter said he would let us know just before the ordered meal was ready so the rest of us could get our meals from the carvery. This didn't happen so my dad who's birthday meal it was ended up eating alone while we fetched ours. The food was ok but would have been better served on a hot plate not a cold one.

I love coming here especially with my family, the food is great and so is the kids outdoor play area, they are happy to switch food around on your order so if you're fussy, following a diet plan or just don't like something just ask, I've never had a problem with food. Only reason its lost a star is the bar, its to small and understaffed as soon as weather is a but nice. Sadly you'll find yourself queuing for upto 20 minutes at times, so always make sure you order drinks with your meal.

The main course was really nice, had the steak which was a good quality cut of meat and cooked well to order. For dessert I don't know what the obsession about Mr Whippy is, I ordered one of the things which said it had just ice cream rather than specifying Mr Whippy like most of the others did and it turned out to be guess what...Mr Whippy. Also squirty cream rather than actual whipped cream was disappointing. All in all I'd avoid the dessert if I went again.The service was ok but honestly I felt a little rushed and it wasn't even packed. Hadn't been sitting down for more than a couple of minutes when they asked for the drinks order, good job we weren't drinking wine as we hadn't had a chance to look at the wine list. When we asked for more time to decide food we weren't given much more and then they tried to clear the table when people were still eating. If you are only allowed a certain time at the table they should let you know in advance and since we were only there for an hour and a half from sitting to leaving it's not like we were lingering.

First visit. We had been wanting to visit for a while. It was not full and got a table straight away. The advertised free wifi didn't work on both our phones. The current wine menu is different and more expensive than the one on the website. The waitress seemed to want to hurry the table along. The wine arrived in a plastic gift bag with ice. Very creative however impossible to get the ice out, the waitress who dropped the closed bottle without opening it, had dissapeared. Started with a garlic ciabatta and dressed house salad, @£2.5 each from the sides. Very fresh and crispy. Excellent dressing. Pushy waitress trying to take orders while my wife is still eating. Told to go away till I call her. Stilton and mushroom chicken for me and handmade salmon fish cakes for my partner. We had to order extra sauce as the tiny amount provided wasn't enough. The food is good. The service is terrible.
