Food is great tasting which is great, atmosphere is nice but they try cut back in things which ruins the experience. For example the chutney tray with the popodoms has about 4 spoons worth in which is not enough when sharing and the lamb chops are small and anorexic. Feels like they’re trying to cut costs but it just makes the experience less attractive. Been going here years but only noticed this post pandemic, before that it was 10 stars now a 3 in my view, especially as the competition gets stronger.

Absolutely amazing food, all very fresh and piping hot. Have to recommend the Galic Chilli Chicken was the star of the show. The young lady behind the bar was really professional and brilliant in handling our group. However there was a waitress who did not always get our order right and there was a language barrier.

Went this evening, 7th wedding anniversary and the gift is wool so 'the WOOLpack' fitted the bill! The food was lovely! Staff all very polite and friendly, service was efficient. We sat outside which we enjoyed, nice area and also non intrusive. Little hidden gem here, we will definitely be returning thank you so very much!

Great place to get a decent indian meal. Tasty, flavourful and the meat was ever so soft in the curry itself, naan and aides also were great . Only issue I had was I dont think the waiters believed me when I said I wanted it hot hot, and it came out mild (in my eyes), even witht the extra chilli on the side

I was pleasantly surprised by Wool Pack. Service was attentive, friendly and polite. They even heated up Indian food for my son, that I could have bought from them (at no charge). They accommodate our request to change tables. My son was able to run around, and I did not get disgruntled waiting staff. We ordered tandoori king prawns for starters. They came out sizzling and massive. Cooked just enough with spices and still juicy. For mains we shared Ginger Chicken, which was very tasty. The balance of ginger and spices was perfect. They even garnished it with sticks of fresh ginger for a bit of extra kick. Perfect. It went down with a large and light man bread. We shared a starter and main, with food still left over for a doggie bag. See picture for the bill. The main thing i would request is for some fresh passion fuit juice and a variety of lassies. I will definitely go back to try the other dishes.

Excellent food! Wouldn’t go anywhere else now I have found a reasonable priced takeaway yet tasty and freshly cooked. Butter chicken is my favourite and chicken karai. We have received a great service from Malvika during our visit to the Woolpack restaurant. She was helpful in suggesting the food that is suitable for our vegetarian diet. The food we ordered (veg paneer chilly garlic and veg kohlgapuri) is great and the food was very tasty. Thank you Malvika and Woolpack for this experience. We look forward to visiting you again.

when you are sat in the front room it's isn't and warm and atmospheric as in the back. The service is friendly but rather slow and the food is quite expensive compared to similar places. We really enjoyed the food and the show live sport so we cold watch the football too

Decided to go last minute instead of another local place based on my mates' recommendation. Ordered the paneer tikka and lamb tawa and both were pretty good. Portions were generous and the service was spot on. I will go back to see if it wasn't a one off because I did read some poor reviews previous to this visit.I guess they have tried to up their game? I will try when it's a bit busier- that's the real test of a good place. But all in all, very happy with my first experience!

Great staff but dont book parties of more than 15 people as their chef cannog copewith big orders, even if you pre order. On the plus side, the staff are welcoming and friendly and work very hard to ensure you have a great visit. The food is Amazing... first class indian food full of flavour, will keep going back

The good: The food is absolutely delicious (top notch curry :-) ), the service is friendly and quick, the prices are very reasonable. The odd:The dining options are a) takeaway, b) eat in the little canteen area next to the kitchen, or c) eat in the lounge of the attached pub. We chose the latter, which worked fine for us, but it's not what you'd call a fine dining experience. The summary: Definitely recommended: The food really is excellent. A hidden gem.

Staff are welcoming and friendly and the food is good, however the floor manager could be a little less 'stressed' towards our group by pressuring us to leave at 9:45 pm when we sat down at 6:30 pm so we did feel a bit singled out as nobody else was treated into the same manner but a good experience overall considering the new legislation

Beeb a regular here for over 20 yes but the management have changed the whole environment of the pub..now it's more of a restaurant with long standing locals as myself now forced to go elsewhere as the prices have increased so much over last 6 months ...restaurant yes. Pub no!

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight - One of the items ordered was 'Crispy Bhajia' as stated on their online menu - when I collected the takeaway I noticed the bill said 'Aloo tikka masala' instead of the bhajia ordered - so I queried this with the bartender taking my payment and he said that they only put that on the receipt but the bhajia will be in the bag instead of the aloo tikka masala. The server then took my payment, and as I was sceptical I asked another server - and I also informed him that the aloo tikka masala they have placed on my receipt is more expensive than the bhajia starter I ordered - he apologised, and refunded me the difference however again stated that the correct item is in the bag regardless of the receipt being labelled as aloo tikka masala, and showed me their own receipt where they had crossed out aloo tikka masala and roughly written bhajia next to it (however they had left the price as the higher price of the curry). When I got home - surprise surprise - no bhajia in the bag, instead there was an aloo curry. I phoned them back and spoke to a member of staff named 'Kudri?' - and he apologised and offered any one free dish next time an order is placed for eat in or takeaway - I'd like to see if they actually honour this if we return. Furthermore, they need to have a better system in place rather than putting items of a different name on receipts and then scribbling corrections on the receipt and expecting the chef to make the correct orders. Food was decent hence the 3*'s.
