I saw the big sign on the back of this building while I was walking over the castle wall. I finished my tour and thought I should try this restaurant that took my eyes. It was an excellent choice. The place is spotless clean. Smiling helpful ladies. Food was freshly prepared and quickly served. I tried the signature Cod fish and chips. Very well prepared. Tasty. Decent portion. Price reasonable. Nice interior decor. This was the cherry on the top of this magnificent trip to Lincoln.

The food was really lovely, however it is missing a start due to the poor service. One of the girls working there acted like she was forced to be there, rolling her eyes and being rude when talking to us. Not a service you want to experience when you pay £95 for a standard fish and chips meal 🙃

What a treasure of a place we hadn't realised was so good in our home city! The service here was exceptional! To top it off the food was delicious and perfectly portioned. We went for for traditional fish and chips (minus the fish for me as I'm veggie) but were surprised to see other things on the menu too. We will definitely be going back to try the other choices. Highly recommend the chargrilled pineapple dessert, just wow. The brownie was super yummy too. Not sure about the 2 menus though, would prefer all of the choices on both menus to be available throughout the day and evening. We were lucky we were there around 6pm so were able to have a choice from each menu on the desserts. Still, well worth a visit and will be one of our firm favourites to dine at now!

Fab service and best fresh Fish I have tasted in a long time. Salt and chilli quid starter was to die for and could maybe have done with a couple more pieces. But this is not a complaint just how good it tasted. Staff were fabulous and couldn't do enough. Would recommend this place very highly.

Lovely restaurant, staff were very friendly. I ordered the sea bass with potatoes and it was completely tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever. Was the most miserable piece of fish I've had in my life. Someone else reviewed this exact meal with pictures on Google and I regret not looking before ordering. What I will say is everyone else really enjoyed theirs. Lemon sole, haddock etc. So the takeaway would be avoid the sea bass at all costs, but it seems most other menu items are great.

Good fish. We ordered the haddock without chips. The haddock was tasty, recommended that you eat right away though as time is not kind to hot fried food. Will come back again to eat with chips as well.

Really enjoyed our visit in a summer. So much so we just talked about it again! In November. Food was great, very good value for the quality. Excellent dine-in experience and superb take-away. My wife and I have collected here three times and the food has yet to disappoint. The large cod, and chips with cheese are now our go-to. Our experience dining in the restaurant was outstanding. Started the meal off with seared scallops and chorizo. Wonderful flavor and very well displayed. My wife and I ordered each of the daily specials and both were full of flavor and perfectly portioned. Wait staff was very attentive and the owner even came and talked us up a little. We will absolutely be returning soon.

Elite on the Bail is a great gem in the historic quarter of Lincoln. The decor is beautiful and I love the little quotes on the wall too! It’s a overall lovely atmosphere to enjoy your meal. The Food. I can not rate their Moules Mariniere enough. The creamy sauce was so delicious and the mussels tasted fresh. I seriously think I could’ve eaten my body weight in them. They were just divine. For my main I had crab linguine which was really yummy and again, tasted fresh. Something I did note was that the meals were really hot, which was fantastic because too often places serve you warm food which gets cold before you’ve finished eating it, but everything served here is hot and enjoyable. I also want to note that my stepdad said they were “the best fish and chips” he’s ever eaten, which is high praise indeed from him!

Lovely meal, the most friendliest of staff I’ve met. Despite the items I asked for not on the main menu in the restaurant, they were happy to accommodate my requirements, so if you fancy something like sausage and chips they’re happy to serve that to you. Prices really reasonable as well. Hands down recommend to everyone.

Enjoyed a nice meal this evening, a generous portion of cod and chips, but not the best I've had by a long chalk. Both the pre-dinner menu and evening menu sit alongside each other, so you can see that the price is a fiver more for the same thing at dinner time. I do understand that this needs to happen for businesses, but taking the early menu away would do away with the nasty taste the higher price leaves. The staff were kind and attentive. If you want fish and chips in the Historic Quarter then you won't go too far wrong here.

Two menus, lunch till 6pm ,then 6 till 11? Lunch menu is a little cheaper but still has a good choice. I had the seafood basket which was great, plenty of chips with garlic mayonnaise. The staff were delightful and we didn't feel we were rushed at all. Great experience for the family. We WILL be back !!

Really lovely place, with great staff and a diverse selection for food. One development point I have is that the portion sizes were quite small, so to feel as though you are full you would need the full 3 courses! I had the Plaice, which was delicious! Broke apart nicely and the sauce with it was perfect - there just needed to be more of it in my opinion Definitely recommend going, however!

Just one criticism & that was they serve crushed peas with the meal & when asked if we could exchange one serving for normal peas we were told we would have to pay on top of the meal price just for a replacement portion. This is the only restaurant I have been asked to pay, therefore we went without.

Service made up for it though, very engaging, friendly and helpful staff. Would visit again. Not sure whether the hand gel dispenser worked when we went in, so used our own instead.

The fish and chips at the 'elite' are always delicious and it is always our first choice of fish and chip restaurants. If you are travelling to Lincoln for a day out and want fish and chips, as a local i will tell you this is the best fish and chip shop in Lincoln and ALL the locals will tell you the same. They have done so well that this is the second restaurant they now have in Lincoln. (Which also opened during this COVID pandemic) which just shows you how popular they are.

What a find! Absolutely fantastic food and great staff. I had muscles in cream, leak and bacon as a main course. Now, I'm a bit of a fan of muscles, but these were on a different level. They were the best I have ever had ( and I've eaten them in quite a few different countries). The starters and deserts were also top notch. It's a new venture, only open a week as of 15th Feb 2020 and the waiting staff are still getting used to their role, so service could have been a little slicker but it didn't detract from a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and will return as soon as I can.
