We went for a day out to Fromby beach and ended up here for Dinner. After visiting many Indian restaurants in Manchester, I must admit that this restaurant is by far “THE BEST”. Starters were cooked to perfection. Proteins like chicken, if cooked for a long time becomes rubbery and chewy but this wasn’t the case here. It was soft and succulent. Indian Breads were freshly cooked in the clay oven whereas if you visit other places, breads are pre-made, reheated again and natural raising techniques will be missing. Desserts was made to perfection. You can tell that making customers happy is the main priority of this extremely talented team. Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant!

I’m originally from the Bradford area so can be fussy about Indian/Pakistani cuisine. I have found sometimes curry’s in the Liverpool area could be of a low standard. However, my wife and I decided to try this place out for lunch. The venue was clean, the greeting was friendly, and the menu is a good size. Service was quick, my pint was nice and cold and the food looked and tasted great! Definitely worth a try if you want to try curry with a little difference.

This is one of the best restaurants serving authentic Indian food. When you are in Formby you should definitely go here if you want to eat super tasty Indian food. Once you try food here you will be the next one to write a review for sure. Prices and portions of dishes are decent. Also, the Chef and staff are very courteous and hospitable. Can’t believe I waited this long to eat here. The only restaurant in the northwest that has authentic Indian food. Being an Indian I’m picky, I love my food mild and my hubby loves it spicy and we both couldn’t find any fault. Warm and welcoming staff and the owner himself is a gracious host! Amazing portions as well. Will definitely be going back every time I crave Indian food !

Had an outstanding experience here. The food was freshly made and really delicious. My Lamb Yakhni was a revelation and my wife's Lamb Bhuna, which catered for her lactose intolerance, was also commendable. We were looked after exceptionally well. Even the background music was uplifting. Thoroughly deserves the full 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fantastic little gem! Truly authentic Indian food. The Seek kebab was delicious and the Lamb Nihari by far the juiciest softest tastiest ever. Great place and will definitely comeback The manager was polite professional and the waitress couldn't have been any better.

This fabulous restaurant has just catered for my party of 18 people (60th Birthday) who all ordered off the main menu. The food was all cooked fresh and delivered to the table in a very timely manor, piping hot and tasting fantastic. To prepare 18 different starters and mains is amazing. Both Tatar and his team deserve well more than FIVE STARS !! Keep up the good work and I look forward to going again soon.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Sensational food. Fantastic flavour with a great range of traditional curries and starters. If you live in the vicinity and want the freshest most balanced curry you can get, this is a must! Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome!

I love Indian cuisine and have now visited this restaurant on several occasions. The owner, Tatar, told me that the inspiration of his food comes from his home town of Calcutta which is the only town in India to have a China Town. As such, the Chinese spices and methodology of cooking have bled through to the Indian offerings and bring a unique flavour to the the freshly prepared food of the Ajab Gajab Cafe. If you have not yet tried this place you are missing out. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB FOOD and GREAT SERVICE. Can't wait until my next visit !

This cafe/restaurant has an interest take on Indian food. Features a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Very friendly manager with good customer service skills. We tried a selection of chicken dishes with rice, curry sauce and salad. Interesting flavours which we liked. We would try again to explore other dishes. On the whole well worth a visit.

Excellent experience today dinning in. Stir-fry Indian cheese with tangy chilli sauce is a great dish to start. Lamb shank cooked in to perfection in a lightly spicy curry sauce great companion for tandoori butter nann. Overall the experience was great with food and service. They deserve five star plus.

Tried the delicious lunch time menu at Ajab Gajab Cafe today. We had a Chole Bhatare , Paneer Tikka Kathi roll and a Masala Dosa. All were excellent, really brilliant authentic Indian cooking with fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back for lunch again when next in Formby and will aim to try the evening menu too !
