M. F.Classic steakhouse with plenty of choices of beef, the sides are also good, desserts as well. Service is great. Lucky to get a table without able to reserve. The staffs are very helpful and give good recommendations.
V. f. O. T.Not been to a Miller and Carter Restaurant before, so we thought we'd give it a try.
Service and food were fantastic, my fillet steak 8oz was cooked exactly as ordered and my wife had the Cod and Chips, which she really enjoyed.

V. H.Absolutely unreal. The server was spot on she was so friendly and unintrusive very friendly and cheerful.
The food is absolutely delicious. The only criticisms I would have is that the nachos for the kids had an odd seasoning on them. It was all spice or something I think but they were over spiced for kids so probably wouldn't recommend them or order them again. The mac and cheese from the kids menu is a very small serving but that's literally all I could fault if I was looking. My husband and I both had steak and it was just spot on as you'd expect. I had a creamy potato bacon and cheese extra - 10/10 would highly recommend. Husband ordered the lobster tail side and again wasn't disappointed.
Its not a cheap meal out BUT it was delicious and worth every penny especially as a nice treat.
Would recommend and will definitely return.
D. M.EDIT in response to reply: I appreciate the effort to take action on my review, so I will move it to a 3 star from one. However I would like to be clear that I said we didn't get a read back at all, it's not like we sat quiet when given the wrong read back. As for the desert we ordered we got that one to make up for the fact we had spent 10 pound on a quarter of a lettuce which I'm glad to hear you clean properly.
Was recommended this place by a friend only to be left bitterly disappointed by the food on offer. It's basically a harvester that thinks it's better than harvester. I came here for a slightly more expensive dining experience so the prices were as expected however with a higher price I expect a higher value. This was not the case. Our waitress made the honest mistake of hearing our order wrong, and when asked if our meal was okay we said it was only to discover a member of our group had stayed quiet and had infact been served the wrong thing - this was our fault. And respect to that waitress for bringing it to the managers attention who offered us a free dessert presumably in the hopes that it would distract from the honest mistake, which could of been avoided if A. The waitress read back our order to us before sending it to the kitchen B. We had identified that it was actually not the meal we ordered (they were similar it's not like we were served soup instead of steak were not stupid). The meal that did arrive was a hake salad, I'll pop a picture onto this review so you can see it. I have no idea how this lettuce was washed all the way through and it can be guaranteed to be clean but I assume the food hygiene rating takes that into account? However for 11 pound (not including the fish) you get a quarter of a lettuce, like straight up we joked about saving it for our tortoise but instead decided not to when we realised we couldn't verify how clean it was, we genuinely put more effort into our pets salad then they did ours. Which is why I'm leaving this review free desert aside I just was bitterly disappointed and although I appreciate the efforts by the manager. I don't think I should leave a gleaming 5 star review that could lead people into eating here when there are plenty of alternative places to eat at this price point with a far superior quality.
S. W.Food was delicious! Majority of the group had steak which they praised, I got myself a juicy burger. Burger was tasty, nicely cooked, thick and juicy and it came with fries. Even crammed in dessert, cookie and ice cream. Cookie was nice, loved the ice cream! Prices are reasonable and our server Grace was lovely. She was attentive, but not in our face, friendly and even wrote a happy birthday message on my Mum's dessert as a surprise. Lovely meal.
E. N.I had lunch with two other friends. Found the outside setting was very welcoming as was the interior. We had a substantial lunch which all of us enjoyed very much. We were asked what drinks we would like quite soon after we sat down, which was very much appreciated as we were all thirsty after the flight. Our choice of meal was as described on the menu, I had Hake which was delicious. Our server Emilie was extremely courteous and kind. Helping to explain the menu.
As to what you could change nothing as everything was perfect. Thank you 🙏
T. M.This was a very nice M&C which provided the normal menu well. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent and when there was a minor problem they fixed it immediately. Really nice setting just by the Mersey, nice ambience in the building.
C. O.By far hands down the BEST Miller & Carter i have visited, everything was perfect! We had starters (halloumi fries, s&p calamari & cheesey garlic bread), mains and desserts and can not fault anything with the food. I had the 10oz rib eye and the other half had the Chateoubriand. Our server Charlotte was fab and made sure everything was right! The only negative was they ran out of the wine we were drinking but that cant be helped! We are lucky to have a motorhome so spent the night on the prom after! Perfect!! 1 million percent we will be back!
T. G.Amazing roasted lamb rump COOKED TO PERFECTION!! we did have to wait a while as if they had lost our order and was chased up by staff even though we were sat next to the chefs but definitely worth the wait. Garlic bread was divine!!

B. T.If you want a bit nicer than ordinary pub food then this is place to go. Friendly staff but check your bill! We went on 2 courses for £17ish and had to remind waitress when she gave us main menu for desserts then she forgot this offer when billing us. Other than this, this is nice place to go and we'll definitely go back soon.

J. W.First visit to miller and Carter. Had an amazing time with family for my 60th birthday. Emma who greeted us was so lovely especially after being let down by another restaurant, she was so helpful and friendly, absolute star! Then there was Adam our server, so helpful and made us all feel welcome even the two extremely loud toddlers we had with us, he was so chatty, recommending the food and drink, such a lovely young man. Can't fault your staff at all. Such a relaxing day was had by all, will definitely be visiting again.

J.We have been to miller and carter a few times. it was dads 80th birthday and he didn't want any fuss so I persuaded him to go and he was happy he did, this is the first time he has eaten out since lock down and we were made very welcome they also put a birthday card on the table which he was very touched by, the staff were very patient with him because he takes a long time to decided what he wants that was lovely of them, he really enjoyed his meal because he has problems with his stomach and nothing he ate affected him so thumbs up to all staff and the chefs , thank you x
H.Accommodated a table of 9 last minute for us. Unlike the the Albert dock restaurant who made the booking for us in the first place and left us high and dry with awful service to be honest. But the otterspool restaurant is different class, Adam the young lad who waited our table was exceptional. And special mention to Emma who accommodated to our large number of guests.
P. V.The staff are Excellent, from the lady who greeted us at the door to the amazing young man who waited on us …… we eat here a number of times a year and this waiter literally makes our experience

B. N.I came here today with a large group of my family and our toddlers. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. All staff were lovely and friendly but our server shone out to me!! Grace was absolutely amazing and couldnt do enough for us. By the end of it we found out that she knew people that our group knew and what a small world it was. We even invited her to Xmas as an adopted family member haha Grace is a credit to have working for you. She definitely deserves an award dealing with us.
I would also like to say that when out as a large group with children I know its hard for other customers to be put off by it. We noticed that a table by us moved after their mains and I'm assuming it was because of us. I wouldn't say we were overly loud but with children esp toddlers it can be challenging. I'm glad that the staff members didnt make us feel bad as I was a bit upset by the people moving. I actually find it hard going out with my toddler as I'd hate us to make people feel bad and I'm always aware of other people wanting to have a nice meal. So again thanks you to the staff and Grace for making our meal the best and will definitely be back.

However, if you are going there for drinks only you are not allowed to sit outside unless you would order food. Also dogs are not allowed outside. C. M.We arrived without a booking on a Friday night. The place was full but despite this the staff were amazing. They originally had said that it would be at least 45 minutes before a table would be available. However by the time I had purchased our drinks at the bar they had managed to find us a lovely secluded table for 2.
The food was incredible, you could really taste the quality of the meat. The staff that were looking after us were great and the prices of what we ordered was not particularly expensive.
Overall this place had a fantastic atmosphere which was relaxing and quiet and amazing food to match. I will definitely be going back.
I just wanted to add, this is not a pub. It is a well balanced up market restaurant. There is a dress code of smart casual. This isn't somewhere to go to be loud or to just have pint with some friends.
This used to be a struggling harvester so most of the negative comments are from those who miss the much more casual establishment.

M. C.Steaks were very good. Choice of drinks for diabetics were too limited. They only had diet coke and Pepsi max. No fanta zero or 7 up zero. Just diet cokes which my wife does not like. Our waiter Adam was a lovely young man. He did an excellent job despite being very busy. Have booked again for Christmas day.

noticed staff on mobile phone by the pass serving food and drinking drinks doesn't look good from a guest point of view wasn't very friendly until we where paying as we left a tip
Also noticed the toilets are very cold over all not bad but not good either

P. A.I really enjoyed the black angus bistro rump served with fries and a wedge of lettuce with croutons and a dressing of choice. Steak was full of flavour and went really well with a bottle of Malbec. I chose the mini dessert which was creme brulee and a coffee. My partner chose the lamb which was delicious and a mini Eton mess with coffee. The lamb portion was quite small though, and about an hour after leaving the restaurant he made himself a ham sandwich🤣. I have been a couple of times now and really enjoyed the food.

P. L.For a chain restaurant the steaks are usually cooked very well. They've now introduced a 50 day aged range which is great. Probably over priced for the fact that most of the sides are mass produced rather than prepared fresh on site.
I. C.This has been our first time at this restaurant, it is also first time in any restaurant since the arrival of covid. The meal was great at the staff were both organized and friendly, other than having to wear a face mask to get to and from our table it felt normal. Had a great time.

Have to say was disappointed. The standard has previously been high.
I ordered lobster and fillet steak dish with borderlaise sauce. Husband had 10 oz sirloin with pepper sauce. Appreciate medium rare steaks are not piping hot however our onion loaf and sauces were lukewarm also. I had to wait for fresh cutlery too for my steak which probably didn't help with the temperature of the food.
It was a very busy time and appreciate this but spoilt our experience and will not be rushing back
Our server Adam was apologetic when we advised him at the end of our meal and did say he could go get a manager but we declined this offer.

B.Staff are really nice and the service was very fast! I actually enjoyed this more than a regular Miller and Carter visit. It went very smoothly. We booked a table, which I'd recommend due to the small number outside, but they did try to fit in people who had not booked so you might be lucky if you don't book.
S.I came from down south for thw weekend visiting family and I must say this is one of if not the best Miller and Carter I have ever eaten at. Food was superb, starters, mains and side orders.
But the highlight of the service was our server Lauren who was a credit to your establishment. Top service provided will definately be coming back next time I am in Liverpool 👍

m. m.Good example of a Miller & Carter restaurant. Visited on a Saturday lunch time, there was only 2 other cars in the car park. Staff put it down to LFC playing at home. Got the T bone steak, good quality cut, cooked as ordered, tasted brilliant with the beef dripping sauce. Kids ordered several sides each instead of one main, this wasn't an issue for staff. Will definitely be back to this one.

Our waitress, I think her name was Kay from the receipt, was so attentive and friendly. She constantly thought of everything we might need and knew what we were going to ask for before we even asked. She was really smiley the entire time. We were amazed when she said she'd only been there a few weeks!

l. s.We visited the otterspool restaurant which was very pleasantand staff were brilliant . The starters and main were great but I ordered the Eton mess which was a big mistake as it was just a dish of cream no fruit and crumbs off meringue. I could not eat it because it was so sickly nothing like an Eton mess at all. The waitress was great she offered to get me another one but I said no it was alright. The manager did take the sweet of the bill which was good without me asking.
When I got home the whole meal came up and I was ill for 5 days with an upset stomach.

M. P.After 3 visits over a long period of time I am now convinced the little problems we've experienced each time add up to a fundamentally broken experience.
The food is always just about quite good. That's fine if the prices were similarly middle of the road, but they are not. The best steaks don't taste that much better than those I could get for half the price at any old pub. The quality is especially disappointing, with grisly bits in every cut, no matter which option is chosen.
The staff, all very pleasant, have on each occasion made little errors here and there.
Service always seems stretched, and the usual "second wave service" problem found in too many establishments these days, is unavoidable here too.
It's a pleasant experience being greeted and seated. Indeed the first round of drinks are quickly ordered but then there are long absences when you start to wonder if your order has been forgotten, or you've turned invisible and it all adds up to a slightly disappointing experience.
I have visited other Miller & Carter restaurants, both locally and nationally, and most of the issues seem to be specific to this one location.
A location I won't be returning to, sadly.
S. F.The whole place has been nicely redone. It feels more spacious than it used to. The lady who served our table was great, we were a large group of 11, and she was very attentive and ensured that everything came at the same time and our drinks were quickly made. She even popped back to let us know our mains were being plated and would be a few minutes. The menu is large and obviously there's a lot of steak. There is also a kids menu and there was plenty to choose from on that. It's not too expensive and the price reflected that it was better than average standard pub grub. All in all a very nice place with excellent staff. Food was was good too. My only tiny gripe, and I knew this before we went, was that the choice for vegetarians is a little limited. I appreciate it was a steakhouse that was booked, but even one or two more items on the menu would have made a difference.

O. D.First thing to point out was service was outstanding.. Felt extremely welcomed by the lady who sat us down. The covid safety measures were excellent and clearly explained.
Then our server Sam, was absolutely outstanding, if Carlsberg made servers, Sam would be it, charming, helpful, professional and attentive, and all in just the right amounts.
Couple of mistakes in there, sisters fries we're cold but they changed them no problem and we ordered two medium T Bone steaks, mine was medium well, and my sisters was medium rare, I still really enjoyed mine, my sisters need putting on grill for couple more mins as it was still bleeding on the plate.
My mum absolutely loved her fish and chips, and her salad.. She said it was absolutely perfect, fish was beautiful and the chefs set plate exactly as we asked.. Perfection...
We had a lovely evening, enjoyed all our food and the desserts were to die for.. Please pass on our thanks to the whole team.. Lovely evening, great food and we will be back again.

However, I must say we've had an off putting experience when we found a hair in one of the dishes. Although the server, I think her name was Hayley, was very attentive and apologetic, I lost my appetite after that finding. Food hygiene should come first, always.

C.Always a great experience with typically high quality steak. As a sufferer of multiple food intolerances and allergies the staff here are always very accomodating to that.
Last visit, there were some consecutive mistakes unfortunately. I received the wrong fries, then they came with cheese which I had said I was unable to have and finally the correct side arrived. It was New Year's though and I'm not going to verbally beat down staff who clearly try to accommodate special requirements of customers.
I think it just wasn't well communicated to the entire staff perhaps, or those involved in my process anyway. Even so this is a great restaurant with no overbearing music and a good decor. Also in a nice location, that being just by the side of the River Mersey.
Quite pricey but worth it, and I hope it's just as good for anyone else reading this and thinking of visiting!

The restaurant also caters for all tastes by providing a large selection of the best wines of the region, which are pricy but worth it.

J. O.I came in with my family on Saturday 19th it’s the first time we have been here and it was a lovely atmosphere and the food was great. The steak was cooked to the way we liked it. The only little criticism I have was our server he was a great young man very political but he really needed to be on the ball a little faster what I mean by that is when we finished our mains we wanted the desert menu but it took him a while to see to us I wouldn’t normally say anything about that but my young daughter was getting a little restless while we waited.
I give 5 stars because it wouldn’t let me give 4 and half. But apart from that I would definitely recommend going it’s a lovely place.

We had the set menu which was excellent.will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Also all the waiting on staff had long sleeved shirts and ties which look smart but isn't ideal given they were all roasting... Our waitress was excellent, but she had problems with the order - we were told a sauce was out of stock, so we re-ordered and then the original one arrived, one person's order was not recorded so was late to the table (it was removed from the bill - thank you) and left us wondering if old fashioned pen and paper ordering would work better? Good food and good location though, so recommended. Just need to sort out the heat in there with summer on its way!

Staff helpful and friendly, large wine list, kids menu was great value and all portion sizes big. Very cozy if you get the right table. It is expensive and a treat when we come here, but for 2 adults and 3 children, all had dessert (kids menu doesn't charge extra for dessert) children had a soft drink each and we had a pint of Peroni each, it was £105. Which to feed 5 of us works out to £21 per head, which isn't bad at all for a high class steak house.

Manager offered dessert as an apology after the standard lines and that was fine but I certainly wouldn't bother again. My 22quid steak wasn't as nice as the one we did at home bought from Aldi to be honest.

The steaks are top quality and Cooked to perfection, they have menu of the day that’s very reasonable price and the sides are amazing! The deserts are pretty average it’s all about the steak this place!
C. D.Cheap food. Friendly staff. Somewhat chaotic though and erratic service. This time no chicken, no burgers, no credit machine working and a half hour wait for first course. Choice of beer was also very limited. No white rolls for about fifteen minutes and then suddenly issued with a very big plate of them - a bit like buses nothing then too many. It would have been more understandable had there been more than a handful if customers at the time. The food was OK although two of us had fish and chips. The oil must not have been hot enough as the tempura batter was very oily and a little soggy. Rest was standard Harvesters fare.
L. K.At lunchtime it was quiet with only a small area of the restaurant used. However this area was busy with mum's and babies chatting, more senior diners taking advantage of the 'two for £10' menu and lots of people enjoying a lunchtime catch up with reasonably price food. Myself and friend both chose to eat from the 'two for £10' even though we don't fall into that age range! There was a reduced menu but it had enough choices. At Harvester there is a free drinks refill on cola, and other carbonated drinks. The food was hot and well presented when it was brought out by one of the efficient waitresses. Also available is a free salad bar which you are free to visit as many times as you want. I chose to take advantage of the dessert menu, purely so I'd be able to rate it. I can't remember what I had but it was good value for money as well as yummy. As people were leaving tables were cleared and reset so there were no dishes left out.
As a lunch time dining experience it was a pleasant experience despite the inclement weather. Out side is a large car park with a few disabled spaces. A large grasses area looks out across Otterspool prom and beyond that the River Mersey.

The accompanying fries were again, textured and cooked "ok", but lacked any potato flavour. Very obvious these were "cook from frozen": fresh fries would be something I'd expect at this price point.

J. C.Dined here last night on the date night menu. We had a gift voucher from our wedding a few months ago and decided to try the otterspool restaurant as we hadn't been to that one. From arrival to us leaving it was superb. We were looked after by Martyna and Johnny. who were both attentive and professional. We explained to Martyna we were using a gift card from our wedding and we were both overwhelmed when she had organised for our desserts to be brought out on a shared plate with congratulations piped on it. Such a lovely thing to do for us and it goes a long way to show the level of service you can expect there.The cocktails and food were amazing and we are so looking forward to returning. As suggested there are offers for cheapee prices and i do fully intend to return on a date and time when i can take advantage of them. When it comes to price i am just more used to going to cheaper places like a weatherspoons but this is obviously of a much better quality and a fair reflection in that price and people will know that.

The only good things were Claire the waitress and the place itself. The atmosphere is great, very friendly.

H. D.Four of us went for lunch, the lunch menu had 2 courses for £10.95, but we only wanted one course so we settled for 2 sharer platters, the taster platter and the chef's platter, and 4 teas. The tea came in 4 individusl pots, 2 milk jugs and of course 4 cups and saucers. Nice ceramic pots, not the stainless steel type. We had finished our teas by the time the platters and 4 plates arrived. Not much room on the table by then. A passing waitress, not Sam who was serving us, was asked to remove the empties to give us some space, she took 2 teapots and a cup and saucer and no one came back for the rest. The taster platter was only warm, 2 chicken wings, some macaroni with barelt 2oz of beef some garlic sauce 4 small strips of garlic bread and nachos served in a paper funnel balanced on the top of a silver chip holder weth a mixture of sauces that had run into each other and made the psper sloppy and they were hard to eat elegantly. The chef's platter had mixed cold meats on a few salad leaves, a small Yorkshire pudding with a little more beef than we had snd a pot of gravy. Again not very hot. Both " sharers" would each have made a starter for one elsewhere! I have eaten at other Miller and Carters and yhis was below parr.
R. G.The food never fails to please with reasonable prices and dispite being so busy due to Otterspool Prom, the staff are always polite and helpful.
Be warned, it gets very busy on sunny days and even with reservations, you may have to wait an hour. If your going on a nice day, make it a proper day out and you will not be disappointed. On their bussiest days they will provide you with a bleep so that you can sit outside or go for a short walk along the riverside.
J. C.5⭐ FOOD EXPERIENCE - ordered 4 steaks, all cooked perfectly (we have tried many Miller and Carter, Otterspool have done well on this visit).
1⭐ CLEANLINESS - our cutlery were dirty, asked to change them a few times through the evening with dried in food on them including dessert course.
2⭐ SERVICE - taking the orders was ok, serving the food was good, to get someone's attention was poor (to change our cultery), brought our desserts over with no cultery, sat looking at it for 10 mins, while we tried to attract someone's attention.

a.Went there for lunch on a bank holiday but lunch menu removed for the day. No atmosphere couldn't wait to get out.
We have been back in the evening and found it very good but prefer the Warrington restaurant.

Prices are reasonable, not a lot for kids to do but again it's a pub, facing the pub is otterspool promenade and a little further up the road a kids play area called otterspool adventure centre.
