Reviews of Roski Restaurant

Firstly the reservation process was very easy even got a text message confirming my reservation.
The welcome of staff as you enter in the 8 table restaurant is warm and friendly.
Then the food 😋 😌 is absolutely 💯 awesome. From the freshly baked bread to dessert all very in depth flavours flow though .
Thankyou to all the staff for an amazing experience. Filippo. And all the chefs compliments. See again soon
C.
Amazing food, ambience and service. Highly recommended.
Had the 3 course lunch set menu which was incredible value for the quality of the dishes.
The “roski martini” was probably the best martini I have ever had. The sommelier was kind enough to give me the recipe
The bread was great with a lovely caramelised onion butter.
The quail amuse-bouche was simply divine. Was very light and airy with an incredible flavour.
The cod with ponzu was wonderful.
The whole lemon sole main was great but perhaps a bit lacking in seasoning.
The peaches & cream was fantastic but the “biscuit” was a bit dry and felt stale.
The service was incredible and the wine recommendations were great and very fairly priced. The set menu, martini, 2 glasses of wine and 1 dessert wine plus service came up to about £105 which was very fair, compared to all the dishes and quality.
The only thing I didn’t get was the music selection. It went from 60s soul to 80s. Maybe it’s a Liverpool thing as another Michelin recommended restaurant I went to also had similar music.
All in all, highly recommended

I was surprised with the quality of this restaurant. Excellent staff who were courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was inventive, yet approachable.

Amazing experience and amazing food. Also the staff is amazing very friendly and considerate, always happy to help and explain everything.

Amazing food and wine, in a relaxed ambience. We enjoyed the taster menu, and opted for a cheese board at the end - it was all sensational. The service was also excellent. Would not hesitate to return.
S. G.
Best meal we've had and the staff and service were amazing, the plates of food were like works of art and the ideas behind all the dishes were explained. Best place to celebrate a special occasion as it's unforgettable. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
B. R.
Delicious and beautiful menu. The restaurant is also beautiful, and the staff super attentious. The only reason I'm rating with 4 starts is because I found the service quite slow. Too much time between one course from another... We spent almost 3 hours there for 5 courses.
D. C.
A really great restaurant. Everything about the place struck the right chord. The food was delicious. We tried the taster menu and a couple of the dishes were up there with the best I've ever had. Wine flight was definitely worth it. The service was amazing without feeling orchestrated, and it integrated seamlessly to create a fabulous experience. Thank you very much.

A place worth visiting for a special occasion. Dishes were absolutely delicious, a poetry of flavors. The wines were great match to the food. The atmosphere with a perfect playlist, personnel and ambiance unmatched. Highly recommended!

Absolutely incredible food - out of this world. Superb (+ charming) Spanish waiter. No courses are rushed so you can devour and appreciate every meal. A real treat.
P. S.
Fantastic evening, staff very well educated in fine dining cuisine. Made to feel special. Well worth a visit.

I'm 13 years old in 2 days and we went yesterday evening. It was an amazing food experience from the moment you walked through the door. Although it took around 3 hours to eat everything on the taster menu, you have to keep in mind all of the food is cooked to perfection and by around 8 it it's almost full. It is by far one of the best food experiences to have in your life. Each dish complements the next which is why it is such an amazing restaurant and the best birthday treat.

Had my first fine dining experience here, and it was amazing!
I went for the dinner tasting menu in November. There were 11 courses, almost all of which were amazing.
Service was good, the waitress not being too chatty which i didnt mind because im not such a big talker.
The atmosphere was nice and there was a lot of 80s and 90s pop playing in the background which gave a nice relaxed vibe.
The green tea marinated cod, with wasabi mayo and yuzu sauce was exceptional, as was the red cabbage Bolognese, which was completely vegetarian and my personal favorite dish of the night, blowing my mind with its near identical texture and flavour to a beef Bolognese.
The "baltic bakehouse" (sourdough bread with smoked butter and marmite butter) was delicious, some of the best sourdough I've ever had.
Other notably delicious courses were the Cajun goat, where the goat belly was mouth watering tender, but with a fantastically crisp sear on the outside.
The crab and corn, with some delicious and creative ways of preparing corn to match the flavour and texture of the crab.
On the more critical side, the "cep" dish was a bit of a let down, being topped with truffles my expectations were high but there was almost no flavour nor fragrance from them, with the rest of the mushroom elements being "alright".
Also for the "apples" course (pre-desert, i think?) Everything was lovely except the apple granita, which was a huge contrast in texture and temperature to the rest of the dish, but not in a good way. The shards of ice were large and almost sharp, and the flavour was watery, basically watering down the amazing flavours of the rest of the dish.
In total it cost me about £90 per person, including service charge and some non-alcoholic drinks.
All in all, it was a fantastic night, a great experience with delicious food, and i cant wait to go back and try the new dishes!

Beautiful food and service.
They made great wine recommendations.
We had the Christmas menu and it was stunning, some real stand out dishes included the chestnuts on an open fire and the langoustine.
A must visit when in Liverpool

Some lovely food, and friendly staff who made every effort to celebrate a special occasion. The menu though didn’t always seem cohesive, and there were some very long waits between courses (so it took from 7:30-11:30pm to complete dinner; even for a tasting menu this is probably a little too long!)

Absolutely delightful experience, great food, lovely front of house!

First time up Liverpool visiting my mum who just moved here.
What can I say the food was outstanding, I am a chef from London myself so the standards were phenomenal, amazing service all the FOH were incredible very friendly, welcoming. They explained the menu very well in detail, like it was explained to me as a chef. Happy to answer all are questions. I was very happy with the price of what we got it for, worth every penny.
Love how it is only a taster menu and nothing else, I would of loved to go and see the kitchen and see the chefs they were busy soo another time.
One of the waiters were saying you guys are pushing for a Michelin star, that can be definitely accomplished. They could be some improvement, my mum is a GM so she pick out a few things.
Bread plates need to be taken after are bread and butter course they were taken before are Yuzu cheesecake.
Few of are cocktails it was spilt on the side of the glass soo it looked dirty, but they cocktails where amazing.
Add some decor on the air con unit to try cover it maybe
These little things with make a massive difference.
Well I will be up every month to eat and enjoy, Thanks to the whole restaurant team for making are stay amazing
A. W.
Pictures from a second visit to experience the Tasting menu.
Each dish was well balanced. By the end of the meal, you realise how full you are!
They are extremely accommodating as my girlfriend has a Tumeric allergy and were willing to swap the dish out.
K. T.
Wow!! Had such a lovely night, amazing service thanks to Ashley and Connor - so informative, nothing was too much trouble! And the food, well, outstanding!!!

Mrs T and I had a great time at Röski one dark and damp Liverpudlian Thursday evening.
We had the taster menu with the wine flight each and, because we're gluttons, we also shared a selection of British cheeses and a "Roski's gone carrots" which we followed with a couple of coffees.
We sat down at 2030 and were very surprised to be getting up to leave after midnight, the time had flown (scoffed?) by...
The service was perfect; informal, friendly, caring and informative. Jay Rayner described Röski as note perfect and our experience was just the same. The food was the star of the show, each course being a delight to all of the senses. From the theatre of the smoke filled bottle jar revealing the delicious chestnuts on an open fire to the creamy crackle and cinnamon richness of the "Röski's gone carrots" and everything in-between, the food was perfect. Each course was well matched with great and interesting with parings too.
This has to be one of the best dining experiences I've had anywhere and while the cost could seem steep in isolation it is entirely deserved on all counts. I could not recommend this place highly enough; you must go there now!
L. B.
Absolutely delicious food and excellent service
A. W.
Excellent, balanced, creative food, attentive service. Deserved to be busier than it was on the lunch time we visited. Lunch set is excellent value for high quality cooking.

Ive had the best afternoon in a long time with my goid friends Karen and Kevin the company was amazing as always the food is an absolute explosion if fantastic tastes to the pallet every dish was mouth watering didnt want them to end and the service is amazing i whole heartedly recommend you try it x
D. B.
On a short break in Liverpool and went to Roski for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have eaten at similar restaurants back in the west midlands which are Michelin starred and this compares favorably.
N. H.
Excellent tasting menu, lovely variety, inventive ingredients, cosy atmosphere, helpful staff and service , reasonably priced
c. m.
Amazing experience, would definitely recommend. Lovely pretty restaurant, very nice waiting staff very knowledgable. Food was creative, delicious and good value for money. Could not fault the lunch, perfect. Definitely deserves a star !
M. B.
Amazing tasting menu, one of the best in the North West
J. M.
Absolutely amazing, I won't be surprised if you soon get awarded a Michilen *. Lovely atmosphere, very attentive friendly knowledgeable service. Lots of tips on paring the wine. Will hopefully visit again.
S. B.
Great service, and some very interesting dishes, although I could have done fine without the foam, the edible silver 'paper', and the edible 'plastic' sheet. Those things added nothing but pretension, and probably money on the bill!!
A. V.
Brilliant food - should be on Michelin status soon. Great service and well prepared staff.
R.
Looking for a favourful experience delivered with drama?
Clearly this is the place. Delightful and welcoming are not only the courses but hospitable staff in a cosy environment.
D. W.
Because you can't give 6 stars
H. M.
Outstanding lunch, delicious and fun deconstructed starter and dessert with a simply delicious main course.
L. L.
Lovely food, nice ambience, good staff: a great evening!
t. w.
Probably the finest food in Liverpool. Possibly the finest in North West. Definitely the best value dining experience. Not trying too hard to be perfect but managing nicely.
M. H.
My husband took me to Roski for a birthday dinner and we ate off the tasting menu. I can honestly say the whole experience, start to finish, was amazing. The food was great (although some courses were admittedly better than others) and we loved how the chef had manipulated simple ingredients to make some really special courses.
Most overwhelming for me though was the amazing service we received. I am pregnant so we had called ahead to explain there were some things I could not eat. The chef and waitresses had gone out of their way not only to create alternative dishes, but to explain exactly what it was I was getting (all amazing). I mentioned to the waitress that I really love pigeon and was jealous my husband got to eat it and the next thing I knew I was brought a small piece which was slightly more cooked, so I was able to try it! I was also offered a half glass of wine (I had been concerned about the size of a 'small' glass given the alcohol percentage).
Overall, the service here was truly exceptional and made an otherwise great meal even better.
T. M.
Superb food, great ambience and excelling service as always. The waiters and waitresses and so friendly and welcoming, that you're greeted like old friends and they know you could eat elsewhere if you decided to so are always grateful you choose to eat here. This, however, will be one of them. 100% recommended.
z. u.
Excellent restaurant and amazing evening. Fine dining can sometimes be a quiet, lifeless experience, not here, the whole place has a buzz created by the music and the staff. The food is amazing so overall it’s a perfect and would recommend to anyone. I can think of no where better to recommend you will love the food and the atmosphere ten out of ten
D. D.
Great experience with amazing food accompanied by wonderful wine.
A. B.
Have used Michelin star restaurants back home and roski is as good should be rated as well . Excellent food
V. R.
An absolute must the most interesting meal I've ever had. Special occasions.
A. F.
Good service, some dishes not to my taste. Not good value for money
G. P.
Fine dining at is best well dune to the team absolutely love the food and service.
Cocktails to start your night and food to perfection. Grate 26 weding Anniversary.
Will hilly recommend for special occasion
One detail that stand out cold not understand a world with mask speaking is spoiling the absolute professional effort from the service .
J. R.
Fantastic. This restaurant is spectacular in every way, we came here on Friday for the very first time and it was amazing. The food is out of this world and the staff are incredible. I cannot wait to return.
k. p.
a friend who recommended this place and we were not disappointed. we were greeted and introduced to our waiter called Daniel which was nice, we were shown to our table and drinks served within minutes, the food was on our table within around 15 minutes and was first class, the portion sizes were OK for me but were a bit small for my partner but he was not complaining, prices was about what we expected fro this kind of town restaurant, the restaurant t self is quite small and quaint which is just what we like - 5 from us
C. C.
This is a dining experience. We went for the tasting menu and each course was interesting and quirky and came with all the info you need. Staff were attentive and pleasant and the food was fantastic. We went here for a birthday treat 10 course taster with full wine flight. This was genuinely the best food we have EVER eaten!
F. B.
Roski restaurant really is a shining star in the Liverpool culinary scene.
Owned by Masterchef winner Anton Piotrowski and his lovely wife Rose they are helped by a wonderful team that have created a really joyful place to experience Antons eclectic and magnificent menu. The music is carefully chosen for each service and creates such a welcoming atmosphere . All in all somewhere you really need to try. The cook at home boxes that the guys have been providing during lockdown have been extraordinary. *****

Everything about this resturant is outstanding. The space itself is relaxed and comfortable the decor simple and intimate. The staff are all spot on, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. The chief very talented. The star of the show is the food. All of your senses are in for a treat. This is not a cheap restaurant but if you take pleasure in fine dining then this is a definite on your must do list.
F. P.
Exceptional on every level! From the front of house service, sommelier selections and knowledge, the fun playlist and ambience, through to the star of the show... the food. Wow! Huge credit to the magicians in the kitchen. I live in New York and eat out a lot there (pre-pandemic..), and can honestly say that Roski blew me away. This place has it all if you’re into relaxed but excellent fine dining.
A. E.
Tasty food . Super quick service. Will surely visit here again
T. L.
Absolutely incredible...Best meal of my life and the staff were all wonderful. I plan on recommending it to everyone I know! Thank you so much!
M. S.
Stunning food, delightful staff and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you!
R. S.
My wife is a Beatles fan and I am a Masterchef fan so Liverpool was a destination on our current holiday aimed to satisfy both our interests. The dining experience at Roski was sublime. We have been to this amazing restaurant for quite a few lunch time meals and have always been so amazed at the quality and flavours of the food. The staff are very friendly and attentive and recommend really good wines!
S. H.
Can't believe some of the tastes and textures we had here last night.
Loved "Scallop. Red Thai Langoustine Curry. Coconut" and the "Aged Sirloin. Pork Crackling. Boquerones. Jerusalem Artichoke. Truffle" (I think I had this but my hearing was tipsy by then).
She had the veggie menu and we both were amazed at the "Red Cabbage Bolognese". How? How??? Stop it!
The desserts at the end were tremendous as was the wine chosen and also the service.... Personality goes a long way. My face must have been a joke throughout. I'm happy nobody recorded the noises we made while eating. We will be back. Thank you.
k.
We've been trying to get a table here for ages, so glad we persisted.
From the minute we stepped through the door the service was great.
It's a good looking place, simple and tastefully decorated.
We ordered the taster menu and enjoyed every last morsel. I couldn't pick a favourite it was all divine.
Total cost with drinks for the 2 of us was just under £250 but worth every penny. Perfect place for a it special occasion or treat.

Yowzer! Only ever had food this good in Michelin starred restaurants. I had the taster menu, which was about 9 mini courses for £75. Yes, expensive, but delicious. Service is excellent and you have the table for plenty of time. Should be 5 stars, but bear in mind two things: there's a tip that's required, which at 76 per head adds up to a lot. The service is however excellent. The second thing to be wary of is if you want water, order tap water. Otherwise you'll end up with an unpleasant addition - it very expensive for bottled water. If you're aware, should be no problems. Save up and enjoy it.
M. B.
Ive been lucky enough to eat in some wonderful restaurants but the experience in Roski on Saturday was exceptional!! If you are a foodie lover, save up (its not cheap) and treat yourselves!! Beautifully presented, tasted amazing , and served by knowledgeable, polite, and friendly staff. Cant shout loud enough, well done Roski. We will return!!
A. B.
Haven’t lived in the U.K. or Liverpool for years so missed master chef. Picked on a whim and though expensive you more than get value for money. Food was incredible and each course paired perfectly with wine. Make sure to leave at least three hours for the tasting menu and be hungry! Looking forward to our next trip home to go again! Great to see food of this quality and with so much style in Liverpool!
R. H.
Really love it here. I went with friends for lunch and was spoilt for choice. As a veggie I had so many options but I went for the halloumi burger. It was really lovely. The atmosphere is warm, the service was excellent and the food gorgeous. The restaurant is trendy and elegant. Will definitely be returning and I highly recommend.
M. R.
The chicken skin sandwich was divine, the tikka lobster mouth watering, the guinea fowl out of this world and the after eight dessert an Arc de triomphe to quite James Corden. I think this is our 7th visit. There are very few restaurants we visit 7 times but we'll be back many more times to come. Just lovely!
K. M.
We visted here when coming home to see family, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table The food was of excellent quality and care to detail was reflected in the plating We will recommend and no doubt visit when back home. The dining experience at Roski was sublime. The restaurant is small but very comfortable.
l. j.
First class service and a well presented tasting menu full of variety and vibrant flavours. In particular the scallop and the wagyu fillet dishes were just perfect. Wagyu comes at a £28 for 2 people supplement and well worth the extra spend. Staff are attentive and show a passion for the business
M. C.
Outstanding lunch set menu for £25... Unbelievable good value for an amuse-bouche and three stunning courses. Don't be put off by the simple stark menu descriptions - Beetroot Bolognese or Rice Pudding doesn't nearly begin to describe the outstanding taste sensations to follow!
J. L.
My wife and I enjoyed the best dining we collectively had ever experienced at Röski for my 30th birthday last week. We were greeted by warm, friendly, attentive staff who took our coats and showed us to our lovely window table. We started with an incredible champagne before commencing the thrilling, delectable, eclectic wild ride of the palate that was the taster menu. 12 or so courses later, including a gorgeous glass of Argentinian malbec, dessert wine and the signature carrot dessert, alongside impeccable, amiable and helpful waiters we finished our meal. Our night ended being given some lovely chocolates to go home with and a delightful birthday card. A special thanks to Rose, one of the owners, who looked after us for the majority of the evening! Thank you all!
I. R.
One of the best dining experience I’ve had in my life. Every dish was outstanding. Thank you for such a memorable evening. It surpassed most of the two Michelin star restaurants we’ve eaten at.
Well done to all at Röski. I’m sure a star awaits ...
F. H.
Incredible dining experience with outstanding service. Couldn't wish for a better atmosphere, and most importantly the food was AMAZING!!
j. m.
Another wonderful dining experience at Roski last night, why hasn't this restaurant got a Michelin star? This was our fourth visit and it gets better every time we go, the tasting menu is just amazing, well done to all the staff for making making my birthday perfect
B. C.
The 7-course taster menu here was the best meal of my entire life. A really sensational range of flavours and textures, intensified to a level you wouldn't believe by one of the country's most talented and original young chefs.
There's a sense of humour to the food (scouse presented as a delicate work of art but with the meaty richness of the best hearty scouse you can imagine), but the key thing is powerful flavour in amazing combinations.
If you are going for a celebration I'd heartily recommend the paired wines. It costs as much as a really good bottle, but you get seriously good wines that are brilliantly chosen and add another layer of excitement and nuance to an already amazing meal.
Lunch is the best value meal in the North West.
N. N.
Brilliant food - best in Liverpool
Went to Roski for lunch yesterday for the second time. The lunch menu is excellent value at £25 per person and the food is outstanding. Also had a great bottle of Rioja. Staff helpful and friendly. This must currently be the best restaurant in Liverpool
N. F.
This restaurant has extraordinary service as well as yummy meals. One of the best place in the area. The meals came out fast and the prices are fair. Will definitely recommend this place.
J. L.
Fantastic place, excellent service, amazing food
C. E.
Very well kept and accessible restaurant. They provide generous portions and for affordable rates. I loved the meals a lot and the staff were very affable and explanatory. Highly recommended.
C. L.
A truly chef-focused restaurant should serve food that is seasoned to perfection. So why is the first thing that strikes me about Roski's dishes always "It needs salt!!!"?
I say 'always'...but I have only been here twice. But on both occasions my partner and I have been infuriated by this. Do the kitchen staff not taste the bloody food before it goes on the plate? A soon as you have your first bite, you should tell right away that it has been seasoned (at the very least). Obviously it is subjective... but these guys are way off-beam and in all fairness this is supposed to be an elite restaurant! I don't mean to give the people who run this place a hard time. Yes it's great that the chef won Masterchef and is trying to get his restaurant off the ground. But unseasoned dishes are my bugbear. I find this a real turnoff (and also I feel the staff should get their act together in terms of being welcoming to guests. A friendly smile here and there costs nothing). I can't stand being in places that are not as good as they think they are, like it's the customer's privilege to even set foot in the place.
My partner and have been wanting to show off Liverpool's food and drink to our friends visiting from Italy (who really know good food but are in no way snobby). We thought Roski would be definitely be one of the places on the list to take them to. But after these two visits, I genuinely feel that if we took them to Roski it would be embarrassing and we'd all have a much happier time and a better food experience at the other Liverpool restaurants (many to choose from) which have seasoned food and a good amount of charm and atmosphere.
L. M.
Don't be scared of the mad sounding food. Start slow with the £25 lunch menu and then you'll be ready to embrace the whole bloody thing cos it's amazing gear A lovely non pretentious atmosphere filled with brilliant tastes . A treat worth having regularly ..
G. L.
Lived up to all the expectations offered following Jay Rayner's review. Superb food, the taster menu was exquisitely prepared and presented in a lovely restaurant. Service was second to none and needless to say the whole experience is highly recommended.
S. O.
Lovely intimate dining space, fantastic service and outstanding food. Well worth a special visit.
J. R.
Honestly the best food I have ever tasted, every course of the 7 course taster menu was delicious my personal favourite was the smoked haddock. I would deffinately recommend to others and am looking forward to my next visit. The service was great really relaxed and seemed genuinely nice people.
E. S.
We were pretty underwhelmed with the service and food. It might have been partially down to new staff but that doesn't entirely make up for some of the issues. Amus-buche was the best thing and it all went downhill from there. We'll stick with other nearby options for celebration meals from now on.
k. w.
Five star dining experience with the tasting menu, thoroughly enjoyed the evening it was more like a theatrical event. Front of house staff were very attentive and informative about the whole menu throughout.
L. J.
Really relaxed evening with quite honestly some of the best tasting food I have ever eaten. The waiters where great and looked after my wife and myself. I would definitely recommend and will be returning
J. F.
Very high quality food and wine. The service could improve a little, but we were there over Christmas when travel problems had left staff stranded.
Overall an excellent meal and a very strong addition to Liverpool's restaurant scene.
D. B.
Beautiful food
Service was incredible
Highly recommended

After a weird start the meal at Röski ended up great. I was presented with a rather cryptic menu, when I asked for it to be explained I was given a rather perplexed look. Apparently that was the menu and that was all there was to it. As I don't eat sea food this presented a challenge. I was then told the other menu, an even more mysterious one, as also heavily fishy. When the second menu arrived, almost reluctantly it seemed, it was great and had a range of options all of which turned out to be wonderful and good wine pairings. The evening was topped by one of the waiting staff overhearing me talk about Warhammer World and suggesting indeed it was a great place to go. My main thought was that The Art School needs to be seriously worried about its reputation as the best 'fine dining' in Liverpool, it's not, Röski is.
R. H.
Amazing experience food and service was immaculate
A. R.
Service excellent, impressive cocktail list, recommend the Old Fashioned made with Diplomatico Reserva rum, both favourites and a great drink! Good superb, looking forward to coming back!

We had the 11 course taster and it was superb! The service was faultless! The overall dining experience was excellent. Highly recommended!
J. C.
We had lunch for a friend's birthday with a table for 10 and they really looked after us and we had a great time. We had the lunch deal which is great value and it was fantastic, it is the best food in the area.
E. S.
Incredible experience, amazing food, staff were brilliant with lactose intolerant alterations, top service and great music. Overall brilliant time, thank you
L. C.
Good food but the space could do better. Uncomfortable bench seats that are too high for the tables and guests sit at differing heights relative to each other.
J. B.
Marvellous food, imaginative and tasty, great combinations of ingredients. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. For a special occasion this would be hard to beat.
P. S.
Great food and service; thanks for looking after us and our nieces!

This is without a doubt the best meal I've ever had. The menu was superb. Every dish was delicious from start to finish. The depth of flavour in the courses was second to none.
The food was complimented by the wonderful service. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to help. Special mention to the sommelier who answered all our questions and showed his passion for the wine throughout.
It's definitely a place for a special occasion. The full tasting menu and wine pairing was expensive but well worth it. Fantastic experience from start to finish.
