Possibly the best 'old fashioned' chippy anywhere. I've tried most items and have to say their scallops are the best ever, cooked to perfection every time. Everything they sell is cooked fresh while you wait and they only cater for English tastes, no chop mein or poppadoms in this shop. It is a throwback but in this day and age it is a welcome twist

Slither of overcooked Cod in bubbly overdone hard, crunchy, oily batter 3 times the size of the fish - it was passable but considering it was £5 a fish found quality didn't match the price. Chips were amazing and box meal came in full of oil like they'd not shook items as they came out of fryer.

Fantastic fish and chips. Great portion and very nice tartar sauce. I love their paper boxes which keeps your food nice fresh when you take away. Lovely friendly staff too.x

We often go to their Hale fish shop so tried this one and found it was up to their high standard. The Fish and Chips were very good. You can eat in and there is plenty of parking.

The restaurant lives up to its name and the fish is fresh with a crispy batter and not too oily . The chips were cooked well and all in all a very nice fish supper . One draw back no seating area

I've never had a bad meal from this chippy. Always really tasty fish and chips and the staff are always friendly. The homemade tartar sauce is really good too.

The good catch is one of the only chippies in in the area that I would visit time and again. There are a few of these in liverpool ( run as a chain) but all pride themselves on fresh fish being cooked to order. The difference between their food and 95%of other chippies is obvious.....after going here you realise how bad other chippies standards actually are. I couldnt recommend their fish and chips highly enough. Staff are always friendly as well.

Amazing fish and chips. Love the home made Tartar sauce and the kids love the homemade fish fingers. We have other chip shops that are closer to home, but we prefer to make the journey for the quality. We use the shop on Sefton Road.

Got a lovely freshly made beefburger with salad and ketchup. I mentioned, to the very nice lady behind the counter, that I wanted to try their Madras curry sauce but it didn't really go with my burger. She got a little tray with a few chips on it and poured half a ladle of Madras sauce on. All free. This Chip shop is the only one I have seen with mild curry sauce and Madras curry sauce. By the way the Madras sauce is delicious. Highly recommended! (Also all the fish looked delicious.)

Not the cheapest but defo the best fish n chips in the area,very covid safe and staff very pleasant.We always go there for our weekly chippy tea.Highly recommend to anyone.

Fish is always lovely from here, never too greasy and batter is always crispy. Chips are never soggy either! Crispy squid from here and the curries are quality too. Finally, a chippy in Litherland that I will always choose first over any other!

Food is OK. Bit inconstant though. Been twice this week. Monday the fish and chips were cooked perfect and we're lovely and today it wasn't as nice. It's also a bit overpriced for what it is.

Oh my days! The name does not do this place justice...The walls are covered with awards and recognitions not garnered by flogging greasy spuds. Efficient, friendly staff will ask for your order as you walk in to reduce waiting time, which is sad in a way as you have less time to gas with Formby's finest such as Norman and Joe who can be found in here.
