Reviews of The Watering Can - Liverpool
G. A.
The place is amazing, the service is amazing! What a lovely place to go for food or just a cup of coffee. They also have bunch options of cakes. Will comeback for sure.
Edit: i went again for coffee (flat white) and cake. The coffee was awesome! Ain't nothing like costa, you will expect something stronger. And the pecan and carrots cake is awesome, not to sweet.
L. L. R.
Absolutely gorgeous place! Went for breakfast with guests, ended up taking home cakes for the afternoon, which were as delicious as they looked. Had three different breakfasts, all were very tasty and portion sizes generous. Staff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu.
M. O.
I was out on the town with my friend and we had to decide where we wanted to go for lunch and he recommended The Watering Can as he had been there before and the service was great. We tried it out and the service and food was lovely. The ambience was great too. I would definitely recommend.

Absolute delight!!! Delicious food, gluten free menu, lovely cocktails. Loved the chorizo in honey. Tandoori thighs -- TO-DIE-FOR!!!
H. L.
Lovely place for tea and cake! I had the strawberry milkshake flavour and my friend had lemon, they were both gorgeous! Would come back everyday if I didn’t live 180 miles away 🚂
C. M.
Very nice location & interior. The food is generally good but for the price the presentation of the burger was not great.
This place gets very busy during sunny days so make sure to book ahead.
I was super impressed with the variety and taste of the homemade cakes. The bakewell cake was my favourite.
J. N.
Perfect location to gather your thoughts and relax. Indoor, outdoor and orangery areas and a perfect menu of beautiful fresh local produce put together expertly by the talented kitchen team. Great coffee and fantastic staff. Can't fault the place.
V.
Beautiful food in awesome surroundings. Wouldn't recommend if you want a leisurely experience as the staff rush you while you're eating and constantly keep coming over which we found very uncomfortable. They don't take bookings which is brilliant but the desire to seat everyone who enters makes the experience for those who are eating less enjoyable
B.
What a wonderful lunch time dining experience from start to finish. Can't praise the attentive staff, beautiful food (one vegan; one steak) or perfect coffee enough. Wouldnt hesitate to go back. Dan our waiter and the rest of the team were absolutely fantastic. We'll be back to try the cakes! Thank you
J. H.
One of my new favourite places !! Amazing food and cocktails. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The decor is cosy with an outdoor heated conservatory to sit in with blankets 🤩
B. R.
Me and a few friends popped in for a few drinks and food. All I can say is that it's nothing like I've ever experienced before. Food was spot on, they even have a gluten free menu which was perfect for my friend with celiac.
The decor is out of this world, staff are really friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be popping in again :-)
J. S.
What a lovely cafe! Food amazing and the best black pudding I have ever eaten! Great space and love the outdoor seating. Just wish they had WiFi so could work and drink here all day!!
S. B.
Lovely place, amazing food and staff, was my first time here, but definitly not the last. Highly recommended!
L. M.
So I have been coming here off and on since it opened. Never fails to be the most wonderful experience! From the impeccable service and friendly staff, to the deliscious and ever changing menu. They also have the most deliscious cakes! Visually it is just stunning with reclaimed vintage items and lots of flowers creating the most gorgeous relaxing vibes whilst you enjoy your meal. If you still haven't been you better change that!
A. R.
Definitely the best breakfast I've eaten in Liverpool. Nice setting in the park and the staff are great. Good selection of cakes to take away, too.
P. K.
Wow...what a great place to stop for a cuppa and something to eat...if you wish. Fantastic atmosphere overlooking trees and gardens...perfect place to de-stress.
L. L.
Beautiful beautiful place to eat , the food was a dream the staff are lovely , good quality food ! Yummy

The food and service here is just gorgeous! Dont know how else to describe it. We have been a few times and every time we have loved it. On our most recent trip there we had the best server in Helen 🤩 she was amazing, she really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and made such a fuss of our little boy, who said when we left 'She was really nice and kind wasnt she Mum.' Absolutely fabulous place!! Feel like we are on holiday whenever we go. Thankyou to everybody who works here and makes it so special! We appreciate you
D. D.
Visited yesterday morning with my elderly mum for breakfast. Meg our waitress went above and beyond to accommodate my mums request for a simple ' scrambled eggs with toast with crusts cut off ! ' she was so kind and friendly I just think she deserves a special mention ! Breakfast was delicious and coffees too !
We will be back, thankyou so much
Deb and Pat xx

My friend and I just had a beautiful takeaway at this lovely restaurant in Greenbank Park. We were allowed to sit at an outside table to eat. Phil, the owner, went out of his way to make sure we had the best time. We would highly recommend this place for lovely, tasty food and happy and helpful staff. Phill & Julie.
W. A.
Nice place, nice food and lovely staff. Bit expensive though to be honest for what you get portion wise. I’d go again.
R. M.
Short and sweet, heavy flavour with a extra heavy price. Man on his own £50 for a roast with 1 bottle of beer and thats without a dessert. Had better for less in the nest (Breck Rd). Next week Kelly's bar (smithdown rd) roast is up for the test 😋
L. T.
Absolutely amazing we went as we seen this on Instagram we live the other side of Liverpool well worth the driver. Beautiful setting, cozy and clean with excellent customrr service. Food was delicious, my favourite was the salt and pepper pork 😋 and the kids fish and chips was yummy too. We willbe back
E. J.
Went here (Good Friday) with my sister, brother and niece, we had the Best fish chips and mushy peas, excellent service, great location on the edge of Greenback Park, would definitely recommend and will be returning, 4 very satisfied customers xxxx
T. A.
Sweet (pun intended) little place! Stumbled across on visit to the hospital across the road
C. H.
Lovely food and a great selection on drinks and freshly baked cakes. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. It's a great place to go with family or friends.
S. G.
This is honestly one of the loveliest cafes I’ve been to in Liverpool. I went there for some late breakfast with my toddler, and the staff made us so welcome. Gorgeous atmosphere and very nice food, plus the park is right there for a walk afterwards.
S. J.
I recently arranged a surprise birthday meal for my partner and all his friends! The staff at The Watering Can were amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night! Food and service were great! I'd highly recommend for meals with family, friends or birthday celebrations!
H. T.
Been here for breakfast and lunch now and both times have loved it. Love the atmosphere and the place is really nicely decorated.
N. R.
Really friendly staff, good food. Decor was beautiful, really cosy
H. D.
Great place, lovely staff, excellent menu and food was delicious!
l. d.
Lovely breakfasts and selection of drinks. The Watering Can is a beautiful place to go for food, it has a really nice vibe. Staff are lovely, service time was fair, prices were good too. Today was the first time we went there for food and we will definitely go back again.
M. C.
Lovely place with a rustic, cosy interior and atmosphere. Delicious food and good service. Will definitely come back 🙂
A. B.
Great setting in a park, great bar tending, great greenhouse, great cocktails. Over.
g. s.
Amazing cocktails, atmosphere, decor and staff.
D. J. (.
Visited 21/8/19. Had coffee, which was good, but bacon sandwich was difficult to eat as bacon arrived on brittle toasted sour bread. The bacon was delicious but toasted sour bread - think again !!!
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. One room looks out on to the famous wall garden.
C. O.
Went for a coffee but ended up having small plates with glass of wine & coffee. All of which were excellent quality and tasted great. Decent portion size and good presentation. The Staff are lovely, all in all a 5 star experience!
A. M.
Absolutely loved this place, the breakfast was delicious and the service fantastic. We live locally and this was our second visit with many more to come I'm sure.
V. M.
Really fab cakes on offer, and not Costco special ones, but proper homemade cake 😋
M.
Nice place with good food well worth a visit especially when the sun is shining
p. t.
food very very nice, unfortunately a little bit cold but tgat could of been just where we were sitting.
C. B.
Lovely place. Very unique in its design with 3 different styled rooms. Food and drink all good quality and reasonably priced. Staff are all lovely too.
E. T.
Came here this morning with my daughter for breakfast. Lovely food, great friendly service & unlike a previous comment we definitely weren't rushed! Would recommend
B. P.
Pleasant atmosphere. Nice food and fab cakes. Well done!
S. B.
I have been to The Watering Can loads of times and could not recommend more highly to friends and family. I am always spoilt for choice in the forever changing menu and variety of specials they offer. The range of bespoke cakes makes the restaurant a Mecca for any dessert lovers. The place always has a great atmosphere regardless which ever time I pop in. Having been there many times I feel I have sampled the majority of the menu. The food has always been delicious, made with quality ingredients and good portions. The staff are always friendly and efficient striving to provide excellent service to customers.
The place has a great atmosphere and location literally being on the door stop of the park. Looking forwards to my next visit as always. Could not recommend this hidden gem more highly.
A. D.
This is such a lovely little gem of a cafe. It's been so nice to be able to still get take away from them, it's been the highlight of the day sometimes for us during the last few months. The food is always first class, especially the steak sandwich, the hot chocolates with chocolate orange on the top and the fish and chips for the kids, they love it too it's a real treat. The staff are always really kind and friendly too. Can't wait to go back next week.
S. S.
Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at this great restaurant. Fabulous sunroom with glass outlook overlooking the beautiful park. Comfy couches for coffee or wine and tables for dining. Exceptional customer service from everyone involved; particular Lilian the welcome host who is friendly, welcoming and efficient and Kate our speedy and effective server. My Falafel wrap was delicious and wholesome. My partners mixed seafood linguine was let down by the fact that they had run out of mussels and so there was just a bit too much calamari. Calamari and prawns were very tender but the sauce was a little bland. However, there are other interesting options on the menu. Great coffee which was piping hot and in reasonable size cups; a change from other restaurants. Fabulous range of cakes and desserts. I will definitely be visiting again. We loved it. The only improvement next time would be to have the wine chilled. Thanks everyone.. 😊
A. K.
One of my favourite places to visit for coffee and food. Great for a quick bite or an evening meal. The staff are brilliant and friendly and the location is great as it sits at the entrance to Greenbank Park which has a lake in the middle. Only downside is that it can get quite busy due to its popularity so make sure you book in advance for an evening meal or get there a bit earlier for lunch.
i. m.
Amazing food in a great location. Only downside was service was slow and it took a while to get the bill, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was busy. Would definitely recommend the restaurant.
s.
Very nice ambience with a real quirky feel. Unfortunately the coffee machine was out of order so had to make do with water as don't drink tea. Spoilt what would have been a lovely breakfast with friends.
S. P.
Super tasty cake and gorgeous decor. Staff were really friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Very covid safe.
Love the unique loos and cheeky sign in the cubicle!
I look forward to visiting in the future!
K. F.
Superb breakfast but get there early as it's very popular.
H. M.
Love this place! The staff are just so amazing and helpful, always so friendly. Can definitely recommend the pork belly burger and Korean chicken burger... unreal. Looking forward to having some of their fab cocktails when they reopen after lockdown, their gazebo is the best spot in Liverpool for drinks in the sunshine!
L. B.
Great venue, which goes above and beyond in terms of customer service and quality of food and drinks, even during the busiest times. Amazing selection of food, drinks and cakes to choose from, and well adapted to takeaway service despite the current Covid restrictions. Dietary requirements and allergies taken with extra precautions, where staff are always on hand to help and go the extra mile for the customer.
S. W.
First visit here for a full meal (sausage butty as takeaway previously was the nicest I'd ever had). Absolutely brilliant food, well presented and friendly, prompt service. One of us had Sunday roast dinner and the other a fish and chorizo mix and couldn't have been better. Definitely recommend
C. p.
Food was great, and a really good service. Highly recommended.
j. w.
Lovely afternoon walk at Greenbank Park and delicious Mocha to finish the afternoon off from The Watering Can. I had the Mocha and my Husband and Daughter had a Latte, which they said was lovely too. Quick service, lovely and so friendly the staff as well. Not forgetting Frank 🐕🐾. Love this place, next time we go we will have something to eat for sure. Thank you 5☆
C.
Staff are very good. Great service. Food is lovely and just the right size portions. Nice setting and atmosphere. Good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
M. K.
First time here heard a lot about it very nice would go back nice staff good food
D. K.
Beautiful space and surroundings. No sit in due to covid but decided to order takeaway as was recommended to me. Lovely hot chocolate and fish finger butty was excellent! Really good value. Can't wait to sit in when they reopen properly.
t. b.
For a Thursday service started fast, but from then on did not keep up with a standard of which it is portrayed, they seemed to be very busy with takeaway orders rather than focusing on dining guests, asked for a bottle of water with my meal it didn't come although that's because it wasn't put though when I asked for it. Overall very average cafe for breakfast and lunch.
T. S.
EDIT: Since my last review I've been back several times for takeaway coffee and treats with family and happy to say that I've not had any problems. There appears to be a new outside ice cream stall which looks extensive. I look forward to trying that out in the future!
[Have been to this cafe many times pre-covid and during, the food is usually very good and there's an excellent cake selection. This place has however always been dogged by service issues generally coming from the door and communication from inside the kitchen, rather than the waitresses.
It's still a pleasure to get takeaway during lockdown when at the park.
This weekend however there was some long delay issues with food and the quality of the drinks. 20+ minutes for a takeaway sausage and egg sandwich is excessive and our coffees had an awful taste of mould. Hopefully next time will be better.]
N. D.
My first visit for lunch with a friend. Friendly and efficient service, a good selection of Vegan options on the menu - food was delicious! Would definitely visit again! Xx
G. B.
Been here loads of times and it's always been excellent. Went for lunch today and was a bit disappointed, food wasn't great and the honey roast ham sandwich used the cheapest square ham slices a supermarket could offer. The beef in the salad was very very rare, personal choice of course but it didn't feel cooked. Service was excellent as usual but food wasn't as good today.
I note the reply off the team. Very fair and honest. If you're reading this I've been back since and it was fabulous as usual. Excellent all round, looking forward to my next visit 👌
M. C.
I’d heard from friends that The Watering Can did vegan and gluten free foods, and especially cake, so we thought we’d try it. We weren’t prepared for what a beautiful place it was going to be, and such a peaceful setting in the city. The staff were superb, the menu was fab, and we could even take the dog in. We opted for coffee and walnut, and carrot cakes, both vgf, but there were more to choose from. The teas and coffees, and non-dairy milks had plentiful choices too. It’s quite unusual to get so much choice, so I’m making the effort to write a review. In short, we loved the place, and I’d go back just for a cup of black tea it was so lovely!
S. S.
Amazing new menu. We had the calamari, chicken thighs, and salmon & whipped goats cheese. Good portion sizes, beautifully presented and very reasonable prices 🌺
K. S.
Amazing breakfast in beautiful surroundings. Very efficient, friendly and safe service. When you arrive, you're greeted at the door, where someone (wearing a mask) takes your details and gives you hand gel. You're then taken to a table. Coffee was excellent and food arrived quickly and was very tasty. It's definitely one of the best fry ups in South Liverpool.
C. R.
Not been for a while and I'm wondering why. It's Outstanding! Went today for breakfast. I had the veggie breakfast, everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. My plate went back spotless 😋 I had apple juice and a couple of latte's, the coffee is soo good. The place is amazing it's really lifted the area, there's a steady que to be seated but not too long where your waiting for ages. Theres other places that try and emulate what they have achieved here but fall short in many areas in my opinion. Keep up the work, I won't be leaving it as long for my next visit.
A.
Absolutely amazing place, amazing food, even though the sausage was left off my breakfast. Only 1 downfall was that u are basically sat on another persons knee, any other year that’s fine but not when we still in a pandemic. Was literally less than a metre.
j. b.
Absolutely amazing food, delicious cake, staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough for you, made us feel right at home... beautiful surroundings 😊
C. R.
A lovely setting with a friendly atmosphere. We've drove by several times but decided to stop for a drink. It was fairly busy but we were shown to a table at the back and told someone would be over shortly. No one came so we had to get up and ask for service, the waitress apologised and took our order. The menu isn't huge but there is definitely something for everyone and the food smelt lovely.
I haven't rated it 5 stars as the service was slow and we felt like we were sat too close to the other tables.
A. W.
One of our absolute favourites in Liverpool. Lovely space and staff with great food. A bit more convenient for groups bigger than 4 as many places struggle. Changing menu means there's always something new to try. The staff are really friendly and will always recommend something if you're stuck.
E. B.
Good Food and great vibe. Had to chase a couple of missing items but it was really busy. Food on the dearer side but it's excellent quality so don't mind paying. Will be back.
M. D.
Found the Staff very friendly.
The food is lovely. They have a few new items on the breakfast one was a very large pancake with smoked salmon and fromage crèche warmed and delicious.
A. S.
Covid protocols where good and the cafe is situated in an idyllic location. The quality of the coffee and the full english breakfast that I had, was great. They should be praised for sourcing locally procured ingredients such as the Aigburth bacon and Bexley's sausages. Unfortunately, the execution was somewhat lacking in certain areas. The black pudding was overcooked, as were the Bacon (which didn't seem freshly cooked) and eggs. It was disappointing not to have either of the eggs, runny. The sourdough bread hadn't been toasted and was tough. If a little more care was taken, this would have been a lovely breakfast. Service was very good too.
D. J.
Had lunch there today. Seafood Linguine.
V. R.
The best club Sandwich I've ever had. Service was seamless and so quick. Credit to Keith and the team for keeping us and themselves safe during this pandemic. I haven't been for a while and it was the best experience I've ever had there. Can't wait for my next visit.
R. M.
Really excellent food as ever.
J. B.
Really enjoyed our meal here, great service, gorgeous setting, lovely coffee and cake.
The chips were SO GOOD.
I would ask for more vegan options as a whole though, there were only two, a bagel "BLT" with tofu that hadn't really been prepared properly (sorry, tofu is a little sh** to get the texture and taste right, I know this) and a sandwich that I didn't try.
My friend had a steak salad which just looked incredible, and I don't think it was much more money wise than my floppy piece of tofu on a bagel.
Why not just swerve the blt that is not a blt (even by vegan standards) and give us the steak salad with tofu instead?
Would definitely return, if only to watch my omi friends eat whilst I enjoy my coffee and cake.
P. S.
Really good visit here! Tried their Fizz and chips which was delicious... Will be back soon
E. H.
A beautiful cafe in a stunning setting. Very busy so would recommend booking ahead. Nice menu. My friend and I ordered the deep fried halloumi baguette, but it was soggy with oil and we couldn't eat it. The other food looked lovely and fantastic selection of cakes.
F. h.
Nice place, service ok although they constantly pester, there's a time limit on your stay, regardless of the size of your order or the number of people in the group - it's not the place to meet a group or have a leisurely relaxed chat.
S.
Beautiful place, staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to make everyone feel welcome. The food was amazing, lots of choice. It was really busy and I could not fault 1 thing. Great prices for both food and drink. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back a lot x x x
K. (. W.
Kinder Bueno hot chocolate 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
R. P.
great place , great service quality food & pooch friendly
A. M.
The Watering Can is such a lovely place to visit. It has everything; a relaxed atmosphere, excellent food, and staff who are both friendly and efficient. Helen, who served us our english breakfast order today, was so nice. Thank you Watering Can, we can't wait to pop in again.
E. P.
Environment: Gorgeous place, lovely decorations and outdoor seating too. The table we were on though was wonky, moving around and the chairs not comfy.
Food: For the price, I am not impressed. Got cold sandwiches and they were falling apart, and the salad was like buying a bag of mixed salad from Aldi - except more expensive. But the chips were good and the coffees were delicious.
Service: Great staff, friendly and ready to help and make your experience as good as possible.
If the prices weren't as bad and the menu itself was better, then this place would match the gorgeous surrounding, decor and service!
S. S.
The service is always amazing. All the staff are very friendly, polite and professional. The interior is beautiful and the outside area is perfect for enjoying the sun. Food is brilliant too.
Would fully recommend The Watering Can.
S. M.
Bit of a mixed review. The location and actual cafe is lovely, particularly the back room which looks out onto the walled garden.
But...service is a bit disengaged. No welcome or eye contact on arrival on the two occasions I've been. Service is just this side of ok, but no warmth comes across. Coffee was good both times, my Caesar salad was nothing special, the cakes do look good so I'd probably come back for coffee and cake but overall it's a bit neither here nor there.
T. N.
Really nice building that feels quite cozy. I highly recommend the vegetarian full English. Coffee was really nice as well. Certainly worth a visit.
M. T.
Great place to come for a cake and a coffee after a nice walk around the local parks. Also great for lunch when you are allowed to! The Norwegian almond tart always goes down a treat.
M. R.
Lovely place in beautiful surrounds. Pre-COVID I loved going for a sit down with a coffee and cake to watch the world go by or read a book. During the pandemic they've offered a takeaway service which still allows me to enjoy the park when the weather was nice. They also did lunches for kids on Free School Meals which shows a great sense of community spirit.
G. H.
ABSOLUTELY LOVELY!
The Watering Can has been offering up a takeaway service and it’s been as saviour during the lockdown and breaking up the long days . The staff are really friendly and accommodating and the food is amazing . I ordered the Belly pork burger and it changed my life
S. C.
I went to this place for the first time last week with the craft group that I go to & we all enjoyed ourselves . The food was absolutely delicious & the service was excellent, I would definitely recommend this place .....
S. R.
Had a lovely coffee and light meal here. Everything was just right, fresh food, outdoor dining available and really friendly and helpful staff 😀
T. N. G.
Excellent located takeaway spot for hungry park visitors (it is at Green Bank, but also just a walking distance from Sefton Park). The namesake burguer was godly good, with an explosion of flavours and textures. They are open from 9 till lateish, 7 days a week, dog and kids friendly, but with a high tolerance for adult humans as well. I will most definitely come back here next time I come to the park with the wife.
S. M.
Such a treat to sit in such beautiful surroundings, eating scummy food served by such lovely staff. Special thanks to Helen, who gave us more than just service with a smile and bent over backwards to ensure we had a enjoyable time. So impressed too with their efforts to keep everyone safe from Covid spread.
c. t.
Visited this lovely bistro today - what a fabulous place- beautiful location and such lovely staff.
Only had coffee and cake but was so lovely watching the world pass by fir an hour- dog friendly - would love to come back to eat - such a lovely place
S. P.
Coffee was lovely and the full English was very good..but I ordered an extra sausage and a extra bacon...when the bill came I had been charged £2.50 per item!!£5 for a extra sausage and piece of bacon is a utter rip off!! If you are going to charge that much for extras then put the cost on the menu!
K. N.
Great place for meeting friends, lovely atmosphere, food was delicious.
Definitely recommend it x
J.
Ambiance is absolutely excellent, service is generally very friendly and attentive. Decor is stunning and the atmosphere is relaxed. I have mixed feelings about the food. The freshly made cakes/brownies etc are very very tasty indeed. I ate from the original evening menu and found all of the dishes that I tried to be very nice, flavourful and well put together. The coffee served here is very tasty, too. However I agree with some other reviewers that serving sourdough bread for sandwiches and as toast for breakfast is a bit frustrating and can generally make for a dry eating experience. Also, the method the cooking of their poached egg tends to leave the white semi-cooked and slimy, which is quite off-putting. (Waiting on staff warn customers about this prior to serving.. If you need to pre-warn customers then perhaps a different method that thoroughly cooks the white would be better). I recently ate from the new evening menu and found the quality to be a little lower than before. The mushroom Wellington lacked flavour, the halloumi fries dry and overcooked and the sausage mini pizza was frankly disappointing..One other minor note is the choice of beer isn't that great. I really enjoy visiting here and I hope that the recent disappointing eating experience was a one-off. I really want to give a 5 star rating but I think that some of the inconsistencies in the food need attention before this is deserved. Incredibly impressive and well though-through concept overall, especially given that it is a new business. I'm sure the teething problems will be ironed out soon.
A. C.
There today for first time when visiting City. Had French Onion Soup and combo Chicken / Bacon Sandwich. All very Tasty. We would definatley go back. Thanks for fast and pleasant Service. 👍🙂
A. S.
Love this place. Every time I’ve been it’s been great food and service and even in lockdown they’ve made such an effort to offer what customers want.
Would recommend the Korean Chicken Burger as a takeout (and their cakes of course!)
Can’t wait for it to reopen!
A. O. i. a.
Fantastic place to eat, food was wonderful and the staff where all lovely and friendly.
Great prices, especially for a park cafe close to town.
I would have given 5 stars but there was an unfortunate intrusion of a pesto lid within my salad (oh dear) the staff were lovely and apologised profusely and provided my wee one and myself with a slice of cake, which was as yummy as our main meal.
Thank you for a nice experience and for being so ontop about hygiene before we had even sat down, made me feel more comfortable about eating out during this 'pandemic'.
E. P.
The Watering Can has kept me going over these cold months with their hot chocolates, I can't wait to move onto an iced coffee in the sun when the seasons change! The service is always amazing and brings a lot of joy to Greenbank.
S. B.
Lovely little cafe in Greenbank park. Offers both takeaway and sit down food and drink. Always had great service when I've been here.
K. M.
A proper hidden gem, had the full English breakfast which was perfect also good value for your money, the hidden garden and the park were a bonus to walk off the food.
L. B.
So tastefully decorated. Considerable thought and expense has obviously gone in to creating this venue . The view from the conservatory dining area, overlooking the enclosed garden in Greenbank park, is beautiful. Not cheap, but the food is of very good quality, a huge array of cakes, and the staff are always so very helpful and friendly. I've just been served by Bev, and Amy and nothing was too much trouble. I live locally and come here often. I consider the Watering Can a great asset to the area. I have no doubt that this cafe/bistro will be one of the most popular in Liverpool, and deservedly so. I have recommended it to all my family and friends. It deserves to do well.

Lovely much needed cafe in Greenbank Park.
Here’s my problem....
Myself a friend & my dog visited there 2 weeks ago and we were led through to the back room by a staff member. There where a total of 3 well behaved dogs in that room. Most enjoyable. So we decided to go back a few days later, as we walk dog in park & stop for a coffee & cake on our way home. Great!
We went through to the back room with the dog, as before....To be told No Dogs Allowed in this room ‘Dog Free Room’ they’ve changed their rules ... as they must keep a room dog free for customers with dog allergies?!? Therefore we had to move to the middle room were dogs could be? This is the main room that customers (with allergies) have to travel through to get to the dog free back room. All the food, cakes, & drinks are prepared or travel through this dog filled room!
It does not make sense people!
Dogs in the back? Out of the way?
Makes perfect sense to me.
Sort it out Watering Can!
You are a park Cafe!
Dog walkers will be your bread & butter ❤️🐾
Bit of common sense
M. C.
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent food and wasn't rushed. I would recommend the fish finger sandwich. 😊
J. T.
We had breakfast here yesterday and it was beautiful! We returned as we had called in for a coffee and cake the previous Sunday after being out for a walk with our dog! We loved it so much that we decided to come over from the wirral for breakfast yesterday, we weren't disappointed! We will definitely return! 🍰☕
H. M.
Friendly, clean, lovely food, fabulous cakes, great atmosphere! I love it! ☺
A. S.
Some outside covered tables at this time of restrictions (and rain!). Tea, coffee ice creams and cakes available. Unsure of hot food at this moment. Staff are pleasant and prices reasonable.
J. G.
Not entirely sure how it takes so long to be served for a take away coffee. The cakes are nice but overpriced. Their service, when eating in is slow. Always seem to be loads of staff with no one knowing what is going on.
T. S.
Only had coffee & cake but plenty of choice and the meals I saw looked nice
D. H.
Always amazing food and all the staff are lovely.
M. E.
It is situated within the beautiful greenbank park a good selection of food also a kiosk that sells ice creams and drinks. The staff are loverly I would definitely Italy recommend a visit
P. K.
Beautiful location & very polite staff. Relieved that takeaway option is provided to help COVID rules. You can’t knock the manner in which any concerns or complaints are responded to on here or in person which is every time & in as quick timeframe as possible which demonstrates the professionalism & dedication to the service they provide. While we are all entitled to our opinions, it’s a shame that some internet trolls & ‘Karens’ are trying to ruin the reputation of a business that responds as fairly as it can to issues raised so do not be fooled by the unfounded negativity of a minority.
T. P.
Great atmosphere, great team, lovely interior, delicious food and superb coffee. You'll never have a bad experience here- it's a MUST for anyone in Liverpool
M. G.
Love this place, is always busy, service is good, just wish they had more on the menu especially breakfast items.
C. H.
Had a great time there staff very polite
P.
Visited today with a friend. We both had Scouse. There were only 2 potatoes and 4 small pieces of carrots. I asked for more vegetables. The young lady went and asked she returned to tell me it had been portioned??
It was very nice lots of meat but I felt like I was eating a bowl of meat.
Surroundings very nice
Think the chef needs to add a lot more veg to his Scouse. Bread was delicious.
R. D. R.
Great place. Small food menu but really good quality. Amazing cakes
C.
Staff here are very polite
Covid rules are clear and adhered to. The layout is great and so interesting. Such lovely surroundings. Good food choice and very well presented.
A. B.
Fabulous food and coffee - pleasant surroundings with outdoor dining helpful friendly staff.
p. j.
Went at lunchtime to celebrate a birthday. Wonderful service and gorgeous food. Will definitely recommend.
A. B.
A amazing cafe with great choice of food and drink. I can't wait for it to be open to sit in again. Lovely.
M. D.
Limited menu, understandably. No soups which you would expect. Hot chocolate was good but decaf coffee was burnt, and extremely bitter, three types of alternatives regarding milk alongside the normal varieties. Staff very friendly.
G. D.
Delicious breakfast, excellent service, beautiful setting. Thanks! Xx
S. H.
A pleasant, clean, nicely decorated venue with a good choice of food and drinks. Unfortunately it seems to be a restaurant that takes advantage of park views rather than a place that offers anything for park users. Service is fairly efficient but lukewarm.
D. P.
Food excellent, service good bit too hot in the garden. Korean Chicken burger and the IPA was a definite good choice.
T. S.
Very nice cafe. Very clean and staff very pleasant. Even thought it was around 2.00 pm it was very busy and there was a queue for tables. We'll worth a visit.
L. B.
Lovely spot for a relaxing lunch, very tasty club Sandwich and the lime and courgette cake was fantastic.
n. g.
Hidden gem in Greenbank Park. Excellent food and drinks at great prices. So covid aware too. Just love this park cafe
P. S.
A little gem tucked away in Greenbank Park near the lake serving superb meals & drinks from 9am til late-ish 7 days a week. Highly recommended. ( say hello to Frank the puppy
H. H.

K. B.
Great food and coffee with lovely people giving excellent service. Wonderful location, very special place.
i.
Such a lovely place, lots of atmosphere and the food is very good, the cakes are to die for. The service was very good and efficient, nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
J. B.
Beautiful setting, tasteful surroundings in keeping with the park and gardenening theme. Friendly staff and excellent service. Food is amazing with so much choice.
S. B.
Only had cocktails, but they were great.
Menu was a bit short on Veggie options considering its next to the Student Halls.
A. T.
Amazing dogs, amazing coffees, and the chunky chips are to die for. My wife and the kids had one chip each as I ate the rest in about 3 seconds.
M. P.
Pretty good, had to wait for an hour but service was then quick and the food was good, if a tad expensive.
B. T.
Love this little cafe in the park
Staff always lovely and helpful
Just had drinks but will be back to try food very soon ...Hot choc is yummy.
N. S.
A beautiful warm and cosy space with a very friendly staff. The food is so good.
I would go again and again.
J. M.
First time at the Watering Can . We ordered burgers and were disappointed that ithey were so basic - no garnish etc.
J. P.
Went for a light Sunday lunch, the staff, food and setting were all amazing, thanks so much!
M. T.
Very pleasant place. Food a good average and the staff very attentive and thoughtful. Great cakes and large range available.
A. M.
Advertised as dog friendly but, whilst dogs are technically allowed, it's not really well set up for dogs to come in. There isnt enough space and staff don't seem to welcome the presence of dogs. Ends up being quite stressful so I'd recommend going to another local dog friendly place or leaving your dog at home. Otherwise it's OK.
T. G.
We travelled over to" Imagine That" to celebrate our granddaughters 3rd birthday, a party of 10, without a booking on a Sunday afternoon, an incredible experience, customer orientation, will return, and well recommended.
C. N.
Great cafe in the lovely Greenbank Park. Burgers were delicious and the staff were very friendly.
M. H.
Pricey, but worth it, which I think makes it good value. Food is delicious. Great spot for cyclists
j. c.

E. L.

S. W.
Lovely little restaurant, great quality food and attentive staff.
M. B.
Ace location and food and drinks were nice. Friendly staff and great baby changing facilities. The only thing I would have liked is a few more veggie options (there are a few, but would like more!).
S.
Keith and Phil,
Thanks for a lovely afternoon. You have a fab place, very chilled, service was excellent, food was to die for. Highly recommended.
We will all be back very soon.!!!
Thanks again 👏👏👏❤❤
W.
I want to like this place. I do as it's a great space in a great location but to a not insignificant extent covers up some inadequacies. Truth is they need to up their game on the food, organisation and service. Friendly enough but far from where it needs to be. I'll try again one day but confess I won't be rushing back.
T. G.
Lovely staff, great coffee, amazing cake, just a all round nice place. One of my favourite places to go in Liverpool
B. H.
A really cute place! The breakfast was really nice and the coffee was top notch. Warm in the winter and I imagine a great place for a Pimm's in the summer!
