Reviews of Amber Restaurant
Z. C.
Short, fresh, Mediterranean menu. Came here for Women's Day lunch and loved it. I recommend their fantastic aubergine starter and a vegetarian kofte, with Turkish coffee to finish off. Beautiful interior with lots of plants and attentive staff. It's a dog friendly place! Tip: salad portions are quite large!
B. I.
Amazing place! Came here for my partner’s birthday and the food was delicious, we went for a la carte but the tasting menu was super tempting. The flavours and textures went so well together. Def recommend the salmon, lamb, fried cauliflower and hummus!
C. W.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and staff. Chicken was tender and had great flavor. Zucchini was flavorful. Lamb pizza had wonderful flavor and the fries with aloi was my favorite. Highly recommend.
L. T.
Delicious! Very pretty food, lovely decor and service. Had the shakshuka and burnt aubergine plates. Food arrived quickly and my goodness the egg yolks were so deep orange and poached to perfection 👏🏼👏🏼
C. L.
Excellent place and friendly service!
Highly recommend kofta, which is vegan and super tasty. The steak is perfectly medium rare.
Can’t wait to come back!

I am very biased when it comes to Middle Eastern dishes that comes with a modern spin or twist to it! Amber did a great job delivering such twist! Every dish has an explosion of flavours and colours! To top this up the service was just amazing! You leave the place telling your self this was a great experience an evening well spent
T. K.
Delicious food, friendly staff and good atmosphere! All you need for the perfect meal out, will be visiting again :)

Came around 1pm/13h midweek. Not busy. Super fast and friendly service. Had one of the best Turkish coffees I've had before. The tabouleh salad was bright and tangy with pomegranate accents. The aubergine was so tender and just a delightful flavor, with the addition of the yogurt topping and spices. I had the lamb pita sandwich and like everything else it was delicious. I just might come back before I leave in a week!
F. J.
Nice and calm place for lunch, very welcoming staff. Food was good and tasty. Reasonable prices.
J. W.
A lovely evening out @amber.ldn We had the superb tasting menu of Middle Eastern dishes. Crisp roasted cauliflower, lime leaf oil infused trout, smoked potatoes, aubergine, lamb. Each dish delicious and packed with flavour. The wine and cocktail list also impressed as did the perfect service and excellent value for money. Can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu.

(Dinner) Delicious, fresh food, very affordable if you share. The portions are generous and the flavours sophisticated, with an excellent service (the food even arrives a bit "too" quick!). Very nice setting as well, definitely an amazing place to go in London, we cannot wait to try the brunch!
L. M.
Great food, very nice and accomodating to dogs (will sit somewhere with less people walking past next time!). Chicken was lovely, nduja pide was very filling (left of the photo below), and waitress correctly advised us on the perfect amount to order, roughly 3 plates each.

One of the best restaurants we've been to. And there has been many! One of those rare restaurants where from the second you walk in you feel wanted by the restaurant staff, not like you're a hassle like so many London restaurants. Food was amazing. Absolutely beautiful. Everything we had, starting with simple hummus, to the aubergine, cauliflower, chicken thighs, lamb and zucchini, finishing with the mango baklava. Just all sensational! Will be back for sure!
D. C.
Absolutely fantastic. Lovely bright restaurant serving Mediterranean food and drink, with a breakfast menu that is serving most of the day and a lunch menu from 1130.
Unsurprisingly it was fairly busy, but managed to get a table on a Sunday late morning nevertheless.
Food was brilliant in size and quality, and the service was excellent. Can recommend the grilled chicken pita & salads.
Will be visiting again.
A. M.
Really, really tasty food - the cauliflower in particular was an absolute standout. Lovely restaurant in an interesting area, very friendly and helpful staff. What more could you want?
B. H.
Reasonable price, tasty food, good service, spacious and lowkey atmosphere. Had the Grilled chicken plate with broccoli and tabouleh salad, all was delicious.
Y. C.
Delicious food: fried cauliflower, grilled seabass were the real winners. Very spacious restaurant & good service. Definitely worth a repeat to try the rest of the menu.
A. X.
Great restaurant, loved the avocado toast & granola muesli. The staff is friendly. The redtaurant looks very clean and smells good. The price is fair.
A.
Genuinely, I think this is one of the best meals I have ever had. We had the tasting menu and every element was delicious. I was especially in love with the imagination of the vegetarian plates, and the mixing of textures. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
A.
Loved it ❤️❤️ Had breakfast here and the food was absolutely delicious! 😋 Food presentation was nicely done. Portions were good. Wasn’t a fan of the carrot juice. The environment was nice and the staff were friendly. Would highly recommend.
D. M.
We visited on a busy Friday night and had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the vegetable small plates in particular were amazing! Definitely will be returning, thank you! 😀
S. H.
Excellent brunch spot. The Shakshuka is good with fresh bread. The French Toast is even better with a great cream.
A. B.
Very nice high quality Mediterranean food. I had hummus and cauliflower. And the baklava dessert. Everything was amazing. My favourite was defineltly cauliflower. So delishous!
J. C.
Beautiful restaurant with some great flavours and fusion food. Open through the day with different menus at different times. Recommend!
A. W.
We visited for lunch on my wife's birthday and we will treasure the experience. Great menu, the food was lovely and the staff were beyond good. I'm sure we'll be back very soon. Our thanks for a memorable time!
N. B.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and good selection of salads and hot foods. The slow cooked lamb shoulder pita is the best!
F. O.
Fresh, value and wide-ranging food menu with healthy options, my favourite lunch spot with plenty of tables. The lamb pita pocket was generously filled and tasted mild and great. For a few more pounds you can add 2 salads. I love the idea of super menus from breakfast to dinner, really unique at this price
J. A.
Really enjoyed the food and how colourful it was! The coffee was not the best and I did wish the chicken portion was bigger, but the salad with pomegranate was really tasty! All in all it is a worthy visit for something new.
M. B.
Staff were very nice. The food was lovely. Would highly recommend the tasting menu.
B.
Went to the Amber today to have a bottomless brunch with a friend. We arrived 20 minutes earlier and nonetheless were welcomed by the staff. Our waiter, Debora was bubbly and friendly throughout our staying. The food was amazing and the service was spotless! I will definitely go back and raccomended it to all my friends!
E. O.
Had a fantastic night at Amber. Food was really delicious, and the staff were incredibly attentive, warm and welcoming! We were even treated to a celebratory "shot" on arrival as we were celebrating a special occasion! We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends/family.
d. r.
Food is outstanding. One of the best Middle Eastern cuisines you will find in East London
L.
Fresh and tasty food
One palate with two salads for 14, quite good deal
Recommend the beet root
T. P.
Easily one of the best restaurants in London!
We ordered a lot for my fathers birthday and have to say without any exaggeration, every single plate was absolutely superb!
Fantastic mouth watering Middle Eastern cuisine with attentive knowledgable staff and a welcoming atmosphere. A really wonderful dining experience.
Will definitely come back again and highly suggest you do too!
Be sure to book as there was a queue going out the door for walk ins, but very strongly recommended.
H. W.
Visited there twice and both times it was great. Despite being so busy, the staff is always smiling and welcoming. The place is well organised and the food is amazing. The pide bread, the aubergine, the hummus and the eggs are always a good bet. Tried the brunch set for 2 and could not finish the food. The cocktails are also competent. They know how to run a restaurant. A place to definitely go back to!
M.
Absolut amazing food! What a great restaurant.
We were two person and shared 2 "snacks&dips" and 3 "small plates" and we were both very full after that. All 5 dishes were absolutely perfect and I bet everything else on the menu would have been delicious as well.
The staff is very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere is comfortable.
I can absolutely recommend this restaurant!
D. B.
Brunch is delicious. my partner had shakshuka and I had burnt aubergine. It was gorgeous.
S. P.
Just had brunch here. The food was amazing, the Granola bowl and scrambled eggs and pita bread was honestly so so good. 5 stars for sure.
C. B.
What a fantastic little restaurant and ideal if you want something a little different. Highly recommend the crispy chicken, that was delicious! The service was amazing too. Can't wait to return
C. E.
Authentic middle Eastern food combined with excellent service and great atmosphere made for an outstanding evening. Every dish was so different and delicious. Highly recommended.
M. F. P.
If I need to recommend anything, you will have to eat the full menu and drink all the cocktails. I absolutely love it! My very favourite is the aubergine but everything was so delicious that is difficult to say. The pisco is also amazing!
Staff were very prompt and professional (not easy to find nowadays)
E. S.
Just had the most amazing dinner here! The staff was ever so friendly and did a really great job in accomodating the dietary requirements my friend and I had. As somebody who is often snubbed for my dietary requirements the treatment was so welcoming and it felt very inclusive.
Not only that, the food was simply amazing! Will definitely come back for more!
H. H.
Amber was great! We had everything from their shared appetisers to their wraps to their dessert. We easily spent over two hours there and did not feel rushed. The waiter was training and made some mistakes, but her team was really supportive and helped her which I enjoyed seeing.
I recommend coming here with a friend from out of town. Maybe a Sunday after hanging out thrifting in Shoreditch.
G. Q.
A great new place for brunch in East London. 'This is Amber' has a wonderful menu with perfectly crafted brunch dishes with Middle Eastern influences. The burnt aubergine and Shashuka dishes are definitely ones to try. Super tasty food, great value, perfect portion sizes and wonderful staff in this upcoming area of Aldgate. If you just want to pop in for coffee and cake then these are also worth coming for.
F. C.
Amazing food, service and vibe. It made me wonder how come I had never heard of it before.
Will be coming back multiple times to try everything on the menu
L. C.
this place just has it all. incredibly scrumptious food, impeccable service, and great location with plenty of al fresco dining space. our brunch of shakshuka, pide, and miso aubergine was so so flavoursome. despite being quite full, we had to try a dessert from the counter: orange and almond cake, yum!
D. R. C.
The food was fantastic. The drinks were amazing. Will recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal. Andrea was very polite and attentive to our needs. Will definitely come back here.
g. s.
I visited the place 2 times, and I will definitely return soon. The food was from the have. Is not cheap place but worth hall the money. The place is nice inside, clean but the food…. Is amazing 🤩
b. l.
Service was very friendly. I definitely did enjoy the pide. I went for the wild mushroom with egg yolk, truffle oil, garlic and chives. They were out of taleggio (boo! - not their fault) but the blue cheese did work really well with this as an alternative and it was really tasty.
Others in our group had the slow cooked lamb shoulder (apparently very recommended -sorry no pics!), salads, chicken and halloumi and courgette fritters (from what I saw I assume similar to mucver!?).
The only downside was the 1 and a half pieces of pitta for three dips amongst three people! Come on! The labneh was really good, as was the harissa humus, in fact all were to be honest, we just needed more pitta to be a vehicle for these!
I was too full to try the ice cream but apparently the pumpkin seed one was also pretty special!
Other than that the food and service was lovely and I would definitely recommend!
C. O.
Ate here when going down to visit an office of someone doing work for me. The food was amazing, very tasty. Good service too. Amber was amazing with us and I will definitely be back for more if I am in London :)
C. a.
Nice food
Courteous staff
Noce ambience.
I feel the menu could have more things such as pancakes.
Nice experience.
Definitely recommend.
Z.
I want to start off by saying the customer service was really nice here, they were very attentive and lovely. However the food was a little bit of a let down. The Lamb pita burger was ok and tender, however all rest of the food and the drinks were a little tangy/sour or very salty. This place is also a little expensive for the amount you’re receiving, as the portions are relatively small.
R. c.
Amber is one of the best restaurants in London; a hidden gem. We ordered all the small plates and the traditional pide and boy oh boy, it was delicious. Every dish was an explosion of tastes, a discovery, a delightful experience. We also ordered both desserts, and they did not disappoint; they were terrific. The waiters were so friendly and professional. I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you, Amber!
M. Z.
Food was delicious! Especially the cauliflower dish. Atmosphere was really nice as well as the staff.
D. E.
Burnt Aubergine (with side of 'Amber Hash') breakfast was divine. Prompt service; staff so friendly. You must check this place out!
V. P.
Always a pleasure to eat here.
K. G.
The challah toast was delicious, excellent service, love this restaurant (have come for brunch a few times) and am still excited for my next visit!
Z. K.
The food was soooo good, I highly recommend! My favorites were the cauliflower and chicken. The service was also very nice and friendly! :)
Z. C.
Great ingredients, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere!
S. M.
If there are a traditional English food it is this one. No matter where You travel if You are staying in a Hotel You know they will have this to offer as breakfast option.
The other day went to do some early chores with Alex and we stopped for breakfast at Amber. The place looked great and had a very nice vibe to it.
By now You already know that He was the one having that for breakfast. They had a couple of vegetarian and vegan choices and I went with something lighter but very filling. I hade some cereals with Yogurt and berries. Along side with my coffee that can't never be missing on my breakfast.
The music, decoration and staff were all great and I would for sure stop again if I'm around.
when it comes to the prices they were a little bit higher than the average of breakfast places but nothing to crazy. For what You get with the general experience I feel it is worth it.
So if You want a Traditional English Breakfast this is a good place to have it but You can get it anywhere else for a way more affordable price.
Can't wait to go back and try some other stuff.
S. M.
Good food, great service. Had a lovely brunch here. It was busy and lively but not cramped
C. M.
It's nice to have an option like this in the area. Portions are a good size, and the staff are lovely and attentive. It felt rather warm and stuffy inside though, and the ambient noise from echoes and music made conversation difficult. It's okay overall with average value for money.
A. S.
Went for dinner, absolutely delicious food. Lovely atmosphere and great food.
E. F.
Delicious breakfast plates! The Turkish fusion gives a perfect touch! Try the pita with burned aubergine is my absolute highlight! Friendly service and very nice place to relax either alone or with friends .
Try the pitas as well!
Lovely decoration.. so cozy!!!
Nice vibe, fantastic food, I would come back again and again. Yes
S. H.
The customer service was excellent and they explained everything very well. I tried the lunchtime menu, had the 14hr lamb pita burger and the lamb was very tender. However, personally the food overall tasted very salty. Factoring quality and quantity to me food was over priced.
L. Z.
Friendly staff and the food was delicious. Fully recommend the tasting menu. All the facilities were clean and nice
F. H.
Such a vibe. Decor is amazing, halal.options, mediterranea menu, mocktails available, and need to try the breeakfast next time!
D. K.
Shakshouka is not easy to get right, but they did. Nice atmosphere, very attentive staff, and, most importantly, really good food.
M. M.
Food was delicious, seats surprisingly comfortable. The service was polite, kind and very helpful. My partner and I loved the food, the only downfall is the portions are somewhat small compared to what you pay.I would still recommend this place and will be visiting again.
J. A.
🍳🍅Brunch time again! Last Sunday we were invited to the @amber that combines eastern mediterranean roots with modern London spirit. They offer wide breakfast and lunch menu and I was amazed by the delicious looking food and pastry 🥗🥐 they had on a display. We tried their ‘Shakshuka’ which is basically poached eggs in a sauce of tomatoes, chilli peppers and garlic. We also had the brunch classic - sourdough with avocado and two poached eggs 🥑🍞
When looking at other pictures from Amber I really liked the look of their Pide which is Turkish flatbread with various toppings baked in an oven. We tried the aubergine one 🍆 but they had many other topping choices including shakshuka. I would definitely love to come back as there were so many other things on the menu that I would like to try such as sweet challah toast or amber fry up with bacon and egg 🥓 So thanks again for having us, we can only give you big thumbs up! 👍
A. Y.
Excellent and visually pleasant food at affordable price, kind and polite staff. I loved that turmeric Latte!
H. A. M.
Cozy restaurant with a relaxing decor and ambience. Many interesting items on the menu. Some are innovative. We came here for breakfast and liked every dish that was served. We came another time and were not disappointed. Good and friendly service.
S.
Delicious food. Love the shashuka and the acai bowls. Doesn't look special from the outside but once you step in its a really warm and nicely decorated space that I really enjoy on weekend brunch
J. P.
Our lunch was tasty. Delicious salads. Definitely worth visiting.
J. C.
Had a great brunch here with a small group. The bottomless breakfast had a great variety of different dishes and we were very full by the end of it. Staff were very pleasant and there was a nice atmosphere.
A.
Probably the best breakfast in central London with a Middle Eastern influence. It is a shame there is only one branch! Menu is delicious. Food quality supreme. Very reasonably priced. Service is impeccable and staff super friendly (‘eye-smiles’ brighten up the room in spite of Covid-safe faces.) Again the food is delicious.
W. D.
Every dish was 5 stars!
D. N.
Fantastic food, lovely flavours and very well presented. Service was excellent.
L.
This place was quite hidden behind the busy streets in Whitechapel. It is surrounded near new developments so quite a nice relaxed chill vibe. The food was really good though I still felt hungry after! We went as a large group so it was slightly slower in terms of service. I love how they have a salad bar and would definitely like to come back to try more on their menu.
A. M.
Amazing food, so delicious, well presented, very friendly staff.
Highly recommended
A. L.
Authentic and delicious food! We loved the Shakshuka and Burnt Aubergine plates, filled with flavour and wholesome ingredients. Highly recommend the amber hummus on the side. The decor is super cosy as well. Would 110% come back again!
S. F.
Beautiful decor, great atmosphere and warm service, and yet the best part is the food. Each dish was creative, full of flavor, light and fresh. Reasonable prices too. Absolutely amazing!
B. C.
Popped in for lunch with some colleagues one Friday. The food was delicious and good value. I'll be coming back!
A. C. -. M. I. P.
My new fav spot in Whitechapel neighborhood, the concept of menu is very refreshing, you get to choose multiple dishes as a set to experience the different flavors and ingredients. The space is very charming and eclectic. The weekend brunch and the bottomless brunch option is a great value and the food is always fresh and healthy. One tips that don't go too late during the dining time as many dishes may run out already and reservation is highly recommended for the weekend. The service is also very welcoming.
t. m.
This is the best restaurant we visited during our London stay. The staff member that served us was so lovely and gave us dish suggestions, which were delicious. Next time we are in London, this will be top of our list and I would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you Amber for a lovely meal x
p. h.
One of my favourite breakfast/brunch places in London. The food is delicious, the service extremely friendly and the location is really nice. There's definitely a dish for everyone.
V. B.
Really flavourful food. Fantastic ambience and amazing service. Highly recommended.
H. S.
Tasty, well cooked Mediterranean-inspired food. However, for the main courses especially, the portions are small and prices are high. I had the sea bass, fattoush salad, simit with hummus. And a Forbidden Tonka dessert, which was in a small dessert glass.
S. A.
Nice place for dinner. Starters tasted great. Really recommend to try the kofte, it was delicious. The hummus and trio dips were good too. If you are a meat eater go for the lamb pide, the mince tastes flavourful. I was put off by the Burnt Leeks pide beacuse of the blue cheese probably. To me personally it tasted a bit medicinel. You might like it if you have a taste for cheese. Also the mango baklava was a disappoint - there was not enough mango flavour to it and pistachios tasted bland too. Can you add more chicken dishes please.
C. B.
Marvelous food, great friendly staff (we had Lucy who was awesome) definitely would come here again
F. A. Ç.
The taste and service was on point. The place was well designed and modern. Looking forward to coming again.
P. D.
Love the food, love the decor, love the staff, always positive and welcoming and were there with take-out options during the later stages of Covid-19 lockdown when nobody else bothered to open. Only downside is coffee is always a bit burned tasting, but the food is fantastic.
M. B.
The vibe is nice. The waitress was very attentive though was extremely pushy with the dessert menu! I respect the hustle but please....no means no. Word of advice: don't sit outside. The neighbourhood kids are as loud as they are cute.
Will go through the food items one by one.
1. Mango butter and bread
Strange. The butter is just butter with mango. No other kind of seasoning. Plus some nice sourdough. I don't recommend this.
2. Ceviche
Incredibly sharp dressing on this. Bit too much for my palette so I didn't enjoy it and had to force myself to finish it. I would have appreciated some salad or things to offset the sharpness. It was served with mango and mint leaves.....a lot of mint leaves. Even more kinds of seafood that could balance it more would have drastically improved it, e.g. shrimp. The mango served with it was not very ripe and unpleasant to eat. Would recommend to stick to other options for mains.
3. Potatoes and mystery sauce.
Fried potatoes are always nice. The sauce was so weird. It wasn't ketchup. It didn't have any strong flavour at all. It was very mildly spiced paste.... Only recommend this because it's fried potato. Desperately needs something else to dip them in though.
4. Cold aubergine main.
We actually ordered the aubergine wrap but the waitress misheard and gave us this instead. Actually tasted pretty good! Definitely recommend.
To conclude:
I don't hate it, was just a bit underwhelmed. I'll give this place one more chance before I write it off completely....maybe.
A. P.
An amazing brunch choice but highly advise booking for a weekend as it gets busy. Saw 3 parties turned away who hadn't booked in the space of 15 minutes but it's definitely worth booking and making a visit!
D. Z.
The food here is excellent and the price point is pretty on point. Most dishes are mezze... which are often served cold. However the one thing I didn’t like, was the fact that the main dish... the trout is also served cold. For a trout main, I would have expected to come out freshly grilled... not precooked and served cold. I told them and they said next time they will heat it up. So keep that in mind when ordering this dish. The hummus was amazing and one of the best I had in London and so was the pita that came with the hummus, exactly the way I love pitas to be. The Miso Auberginewas also amazing. Here is a list of things I got with price and picture.
Miso Aubergine 4.5
Tabouleh 4.5
Blackened Trout 8
Amber Hummus 5.5
Jerusalem Pita 1.5
I think they have option of getting Main with 2 free sides for £12. Since that’s what I got charged... so the Aubergine and Tabouleh came out for free. Which saves you £2.

A beautiful restaurant for breakfast and coffee. We got the bottomless brunch, big portions and loads of tasty food. Service was polite and fast. Social distancing measures were sufficient.
J. L.
Was in London for 8 days. Had a meal here 4 of those days. Great food, great service! Hidden gem in Tower Hill area
H. C.
This is a gem in heart of Aldgate and staff are so friendly. Andrea you are a star and you make our visit more enjoyable every time we visit. Go visit, you’ll love it…
F. W.
This is a hidden gem! Both food and service was really excellent. We came for lunch and it's not an exaggeration to say every dish was delicious. Waitress could not have have been better at addressing very specific dietary requirements. Stylish decor, felt very Covid safe, all in all highly recommend.
J. C.
It's a little bit hidden amongst the concrete forest in Aldgate East but there's enough signage around to help get you there. Once you walk in, you'd be forgiven if overcome by a sense of deja vu - that you must've seen this before somewhere. Then you sit down on the hard, uncomfortable chairs and you'd start thinking about how long before you can leave.
Food wise, I'd sum it up as Ottolenghi-lite. It's serviceble, if a bit overpriced. Busy enough on a rainy Sunday afternoon to suggest that many punters don't seem to mind; but it's hard to muster any enthusiasm for what's on offer
J. S.
Amazing place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch or simply a drink ( the yellow submarine smoothie is a must if you like ginger) ! we went for the bottomless brunch: simply amazing and a great deal! i loved the humous, the sweet potato with salmon, the aubergine,.... Overall fantastic food, excellent service and great ambience.
R. G.
Amazing from start to finish. Reserved a table via Open Table. was greeted by a friendly member of staff, reservation was found and we were seated. This restaurant is a lovely spacious and airy environment, ALL staff were very nice and helpful. They recommended about 5 or 6 dishes for sharing. We chose Hummus, beetroot, roasted cauliflower, trout, chicken skewers and lamb shoulder. The hummus was delightful and was served with a tasty salsa. The pitta bread that came with it was amazing. Every single dish was simply spectacular. A lovely dinner.
S. Y.
Came for a late night snack and had some great food!! So happy to have this joint near by. Great ambience and good mix of freshly made food. You can taste the difference.
J. S.
Stumbled on this place in google maps, something new, great reviews, so gave it a go. Wasn’t disappointed, amazing food and lovely service. Check out the veggie kofte, lamb shoulder or sea bass. We had almost the entire menu and everything was great. Wine was good, they even gave us a glass of the Turkish wine which was a delight.
A. K.
Limited halal option hence 4 stars. The meal was yum - really tender meat. The staff members were incredibly attentive and warm - thanks!
c. m.
The closest to a perfect restaurant I’ve found. Incredible food, lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices and a fantastic service team that makes every dining experience feel special. Feels like having lunch at a stylish and culinary gifted friend’s house
S. M.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere and food! The Lamb dish was so good!
J. D.
The food and service were excellent. The place is a bit loud to speak and the chairs aren't very much comfortable, however, the place and the food were both very nice as well as the level of service.
A. P.
Something different than the standard breakfasts
A. R.
Delicious food, been for breakfast lunch and dinner! Really friendly staff who are always happy to help
I. F.
A great brunch place with a middle eastern twist. The interior design is very hipster-like and the food variety is significant but also delicious! Worth a try if you are passing by East London.
E. N.
Visited in early March pre-lockdown. Beautiful space with great service. All the dishes we had were really delicious, but some had interesting combinations of flavours. Cauliflower, hommus and eggplant dishes were my fav. Flat bread a must to mop up all the sauces. My only feedback would be that the dishes are meant for sharing, but are quite small, even the larger ones. Definitely need more plates than you think to be full.

Turkish coffee 🙌 and nice brunch with a middle eastern touch
M. M.
We had a great lunch here. Tried the poached eggs with burnt aubergine plate and the pide flatbread, both were very tasty and filling. Good prices and excellent service. Looking forward to come back soon.
E. G. M.
Amber really is fantastic. The staff are so friendly & welcoming - I would often go in there to do some work & they would remember my order which always made me smile. The cakes are also always so delicious. Would 100% recommend for coffee, cakes and food, basically for everything!
M. I.
Very good food and friendly service. Superb baked aubergine!
H. J.
Really great small plates Inc for veggies. Even got a welcome drink on arrival!
D. L.
I had a very wonderful dinner with my friends tonight, the foods are amazing and delicious, staffs there are super friendly and welcoming. I can't find anything bad. Definitely will come again.
G. V.
Beautiful place that really cares about details.
Very pleasing environment with a great atmosphere, anyone can really notice the extreme cure behind the menu and the very concept of it that encourages to share and try different dishes. So many interesting combinations of flavours, wise dosing of different spices, anyone can find something to enjoy. I went for a Peruvian Petal drink which I think really shines with the overall menu... But I would recommend them to serve some Riesling by the glass!
Great service, Massimo really made our evening and I can't thank him enough. Definitely coming back: recommended for both an apertive or a dinner!
M. T.
The food is unreal! Such an amazing place seriously. You should try koftas! Thanks for making London a better place.
T. T.
We had the big sharing breakfast and a green smoothie which is the best smoothie I've ever had! They have different evening menu as we. It's a nice local place to go on a lazy Sunday morning.
T. J.
Probably the nicest food to be found in the east end! Stopped in for a late lunch on my own and had the borek with salads. A gorgeous plate to look at, and it all tasted super fresh, flavourful and delicious. The aubergine salad was particularly delightful. Finished off with a turmeric latte, my first, and it won't be the last. I need to get back and try breakfast, and dinner too! Prices very reasonable for the excellent food quality and portion size, and service was considerate and very welcoming. A gem for sure!
R.
A delicious lunch with some amazing salads that would satisfy any vegetarians out there. The food was good value for money as well (all this for £16). The miso eggplant is a must for any eggplant lovers and the lamb shoulder is just melt in your mouth.
T. L.
We visited Amber at the last minute to wait for our slot at a nearby Escape Room, and it's already on my list of local favourites! Walking in for a late lunch, the restaurant was still pretty packed and we were lucky to get seats at the bar. The combination of aesthetic, bustling open kitchen and 80's pop music all added to a comfortable yet lively atmosphere, and the friendly staff were quick to see to our needs and take our orders.
The food itself was varied and delicious - something for everyone. In fact the only reason Amber, for me, didn't get its fifth star was that the gluten free options were there but weren't immediately obvious. I opted for the Amber Fry Up just to be safe, and was instantly jealous of the Shakshuka and salads the rest of my group ordered! I will certainly be exploring more on my next visit.
K. D.
Nice spacious cafe with a wonderful floral design. Very good brunch menu, challah toast is must try - it is an interesting twist on a French toast with sesame seeds and pistachio.
R. A.
Delicious food and really nice cozy atmosphere. Excellent for a brunch or casual lunch/dinner.
G. C.
Sharing food plates. Great food both small and large groups. A bit of everyone to suit people's palette. Chilled and relaxed vibes and the staff is attentive. I thought the dishes were well executed and delicious. Focus on flavour and fresh ingredients. Highly recommend. Only feedback is that the lighting is a bit dark in the evening.
S. F.
great place for brunch,
porton sizes are not too small,
but definetly delicious
P. R.
Great all you can eat brunch menu at a very affordable price. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
B. F.
Amazing lunch! The salads were absolutely delicious and the interior is really beautiful too!
G. H.
Great restaurant, the food tasted amazing and the staff was friendly and warm. I am vegan & have nut allergies, the waiters were very accommodating. I’d recommend management to create a menu with “v, vg, gf, N” or if the option is available, beside each item. Meanwhile, staff made me feel comfortable & were happy to write on the menu.
D. A.
Amber Restaurant is our local coffee shop and Middle Eastern restaurant, so as you may imagine we love it! The staff is friendly and professional, the coffee is always perfect and the food to die for. I highly recommend whether indoors in their cool environment, or outdoors on the Piazza walk watching stroll past while enjoying a drink and good food.
S. F.
Highly recommended for both food and atmosphere.
The hosts are very welcoming and careful to every aspect of the service.
The place feels like home with no fuzz or formalities, fresh homemade food, good selection and fantastic decor.
Keep up the good work!
D. P.
totally recommended! the original kofte was a happy surprise! cosy environment and very welcoming stuff. certainly will come back soon!
L. M.
Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. Food was beautiful, fresh, interesting and exotic. Decor was bright, clean and inviting.
If I'm in area in the near future I will definitely be going back again.
R. V.
Just pop in for a great coffee Take away, but I finally had a brunch, a Matcha latte & cocktail, delish! Friendly staff and gorgeous furniture. My adress when I'm coming to London. Recommanded
J. s.
I'm currently sat at a table inside the restaurant and I have just eaten one of the best meals of my life. We had the tasting menu and it's worth ever penny! I will be recommending this place to everyone I know and coming back as soon as I can!
V. V.
Lovely brunch place in Aldgate area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is great! Their shoukshuka is amazing! Also one of the best coffees I've tried in London
t.
Amazing food, so tasty. Went with a group of friends and had multiple different plates. All plates had multiple different textures. However if you are allergic to nuts I do not recommend as there where nuts in most dishes.
A. P.
Absolutely fantastic! Staff were friendly and super nice, the decor is cozy/romantic and the food is delicious. The spicy pidas was very tasty but the lamb shoulder was to die for! I would give 10 stars if I could!
C. M.
Amazing food combined with very friendly staff. I will definitely be back.
The servings might not be the biggest, but when it comes to freshness of products, spices and presentation, there is nothing to be improved.
Thanks to the team for an amazing dinner.
M. A.
Came here at the time of the soft launch earlier this year and the quality of lamb was phenomenal then. Came back here for the lamb...disappointed it was lacking a lot of flavour. Loved the grill chicken big fan..
H. M.
Great atmosphere from music to decor. The food is tasty, sophisticated-relaxed plates rich in colour and taste! Good size for tapas style, very good value for money.
Too bad this place is a bit hidden and hard to find :)
M. P.
Bright space, wonderful Middle Eastern flavours, alongside coffee and cake. The staff is incredibly friendly and this place is accessible and welcoming to all.
F.
A fantastic find tucked away just off Aldgate East. Absolutely delicious food, the cauliflower, burnt butter challah and pumpkin seed ice cream were terrific. We can't wait to go back and work our way through the rest of the menu. Lovely friendly staff and great decor topped off a really enjoyable dining experience. We'll definitely be back!
V. A.
I had a very nice shakshuka and a great flat white.
The place feels bright and modern yet still cozy, while service was quick and friendly (granted, there weren't many people around when I was there).
I'll definitely come back.
F. K.
Ok for a local restaurant. Chicken and lamb shoulder is halal which is very helpful and a bonus. Food is of great quality especially the hummus, flat bread, and chicken. Friendly staff and a ambient atmosphere. The lighting is quite dark so not the best place to take selfies.
L. K.
Cool space and overall nice food, but odd to see things like ceviche on a 'Middle Eastern' menu. Cauliflower and pide are the highlights. Don't miss the Amber Road, their take on an old fashioned with rose syrup.
e. a.
What can I say these guys defenetly taking there job seriously we always enjoyed the food and the service in Amber.
B.
Decent food, nice atmosphere, fast service
J. M.
Spacious bit lively Turkish / middle Eastern restaurant, with a great array of homemade sweets. Good service, delicious cocktails (with a happy hour until 7pm!), Generous portions. The food is very good, though perhaps not excellent. Been twice, quality is consistent.
J. M.
Amazing. very friendly and attentive table service. very tasty food. we are going back tomorrow. Thanks
B. W.
The best brunch we have found in London. Imaginative Middle-Eastern food in a lovely, plant-filled space with very friendly staff. The bottomless brunch is great value if you go in hungry.
m. m. r.
Just amazing afternoon with my friend in this new restaurant... Very fine and tasteful cuisine... I will come back for the charcuterie and cheese bord... Staff is adorable... Perfect for lunch and happy hours too.. See you soon
L. E.
My new favourite local eats! So far this month I’ve been in 4 time (twice on eat out to help out and twice full price) and am really amazed at the quality of the food. Every time the staff have all been incredibly friendly and personable, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the food. I can personally recommend the brunch lunch and dinner menu. Food is completely unique in the area. This restaurant is everything you want from an independent establishment.
If you have any questions about what to order to what’s in the dish they offer great advice. Great restaurant without being up themselves
n. d.
Fantastic food and service. Best food we have had this trip.
S. G.
Really nice food. Service good. Prices fine for London
D. L.
If I could give this restaurant more stars I would. I would even go as far as saying it is one of the best restaurants in London! The food is exceptional, everything is so good it's hard to single out the best dishes. And you get a good amount of food as well, always end up ordering too much but must finish it as it's so delicious. The staff are absolutely lovely, super attentive and really friendly which I actually find quite rare these days. Can't fault it.
A. L.
Delicious, fresh ingredients make up for some amazing dishes. Hard not to come again.
M. E.
Affordable, high quality middle eastern with amazing service!
L. K.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding! Fantastic experience!
M. F.
Great food, different dishes. Nice quality and great mix of tastes. Also very friendly staff.
L. R.
Amazing service. Beautiful food. Olives were the best ive ever had. Bottomless was so attentive. We were looked after by Lucy and she was incredible. Was my hen do and couldnt have been happier xxxx
J. C.
Absolutely incredibly food (would particularly recommend the burnt leeks pitta, lamb, and chocolate bakba), lovely ambience and very courteous, helpful and efficient waiting staff. So reasonably priced, cannot wait to visit again!
L. H.
Best breakfast in London. Superb coffee, great food, nice airy interior.
A. A.
Delicious, the kind of food I usually make at home and enjoy when eating out!
C. M.
Good experience as have not had this type of food before. It was delicious.
S. T.
Good breakfast ,lovely staff, clean and well presented
A. I.
Amazing place! Great food, very professional and friendly service. Will return.
t. a.
The food was nice and the atmosphere was excellent, i have marked it down due to its location hard to find but this is what most interesting can be found. 2nd for the prices, the portions to price is high.
S. T.
Love this restaurant. Food is simple, fresh and delicious. Perfect service and located in a quiet, less crowded residential area. Perfect for a catch up over a meal or a simple coffee and dessert.
S. M.
Pricey but good location, breakfast/ brunch made well. Nothing special
K. F.
Great experience, food was on point and the decor was really cool as well!
J. I.
Food was excellent and the take away service was pretty speedy given the quality. The cauliflower (main I had), was so well flavoured and probably the best cauliflower I've ever had - one of the few times cauliflower has been exciting, and exciting it was. Carrots and parsnips side was excellent too - flavours rather similar to cauliflower but not a bad thing at all.
In a rather out of place gentrified block of flats sadly, but excellent food
b. s.
The food in this restaurant is amazing! We tried a few different dishes including the slow cooked lamb in pita (WOW), seasoned potatoes, salad, meatballs in a deliciously flavoured sauce with vegetables and some light bread with cooked seasoned mince on top, maybe called PIDA. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavour.. The staff are really professional and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend and I will be back.
B. A.
Amazing food, great service and in a beautiful setting. New favourite restaurant!
J. L.
Beautiful food and atmosphere, and lovely wait staff. Very much enjoyed the koftas and turmeric latte.
I. W.
A really nice place for breakfast. The owner is very nice and cares about his place a lot. I recommend!
m.
Best place for avocado toast and poached eggs hands down. Keeps me going back and consistently excellent!
A. j.
Awesome tapas food .. I would definitely recommend you to try If you like middle eastern food.. A happy satisfied customer..
N. D.
Great food for a very decent price. Portion sizes we very good value
A. M.
Collected a takeaway tonight and really enjoyed the food! The slow cooked lamb shoulder is to die for. It's really good value as well - we ordered one main and three sides between two people and if was plenty of food, all so delicious! Thanks guys 👍 will be back soon!
Y.
Incredible food experience ! The lamb shoulder was fire !!!
Kind staff & cosy place 🔝✔️
S. S.
Could not recommend more highly. Started off over the phone being very accommodating to our large party size rather last minute. Beautiful decor, comfortable but lively atmosphere. The food was incredible... with a good sized group we were able to try over half the menu. Standouts were the squid, lamb shoulder, striped bass, cauliflower and kofta. Turmeric latte and a great apertif and desert list to finish it off. Wine was reasonably priced as well and service was top notch.
K. S.
great service . nice athmosphere and good breakfast. recommend it.
L. C.
Such an amazing place to eat relax and enjoy this fantastic restaurant, The food was outstanding and the staff were very lovely, helpful, and warming. I would recommend eating here if you want to try Mediterranean food as we both feel this is the best you can possibly have in London. We will be coming back again on our next trip to London. thank you for a meal to remember.
L. R.
Excellent restaurant, great selection of food and the service couldn't be better. I thought some dishes could be bigger, but maybe it's because they were delicious, I mean... the chicken burger in pita bread... was 10/10. The drinks selection could be more appealing though... maybe some more craft beers, a few more independent wineries? It felt like a great place for a nice cocktail. Yet the options were really limited.
E. H.
Nice and spacious, lovely decor with plants everywhere. Food was delicious: fresh ingredients & intense flavours made for a party in my mouth. Staff were all lovely too
r. n.
Delicious food with excellent friendly service. I have been to Amber now for the last 3 months and have water breakfast, lunch and dinner there.
The lamb shoulder, avocado and egg on toast and the pedi are my favourites.
Definitely worth going to in London given their reasonable prices.
S. C.
Love spending the afternoon here working and eating tart 😍😍😍 They have a great lunch menu too but you definitely have to try the raspberry almond tart!
K. V.
Tasty food, good atmosphere and great service!
A.
Love this place! I go here almost every week for brunch. Their food is pretty healthy in general, good value for money and the staff are extremely friendly. Amber is dog friendly as well! Regarding food, I would highly recommend their lamb dishes (lamb pitta for lunch or lamb shoulder for dinner). The dinner format is tapas style whereas brunch and lunch are regular portions.
J.
Nice big portions, juicy chicken thigh, tasty and well-presented
D. B.
This was a hidden Gem for us, superb food and lovely staff.
We went for brunch but up for trying the other menus.
D. B.
Tasty food. The hummus was excellent, as was the challa and burnt butter. The smoked potatoes less so. Good service, not too busy.
M. L.
Stunning restaurant with delicious food. We had the tasting menu and every course was full of flavour and beautifully cooked. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.
L. P.
great service. All the food is wonderfully prepared and cooked except the squid which is utterly sublime...do not deny yourself this experience...book now.
L. O.
A Peruvian cuisine restaurant for breakfast sounds strange, but it was the perfect start for our 2nd day in London. The friendliest waiters we every met!!! I asked how the prepare their perfect pouched egg and I ended up in the kitchen where they showed me how to do it...We will definitely come back!!! Now that sounds a back handed complement, it is just the location amongst the City's sparkly new buildings lowers your expectations but this one is probably worth seeking out rather than our passing visit. Staff are great, menu is interesting in that fashionable small plates way, food is tasty and well cooked. Atmosphere works well,
S. M.
This is a great little hidden restaurant, my first visit was a couple of months ago for dinner with friends and the food was absolutely beautiful. Being a vegetarian, there is a great selection of dishes of which all were ordered to try. Every dish was excellent and for someone who doesn't like cauliflower, it was lovely! My second visit today with some work colleagues was an equally great experience, consistently tasty, fresh and healthy food with attentive staff and good service. My only disappointment is the dessert I'd been raving about to everyone is no longer on the menu, bring back the chocolate tahini fondant! 😀
J. L.
Came here for dinner was a group of three. Had a lovely selection of dishes; the 14hr glazed lamb is the best lamb dish I've ever eaten. Friendly staff and good social distancing too!
S. B.
Lovely sharing platters. Fresh food and amazing service. We went for a family meal & it was a lovely
A. L. D.
I've come here several times now and never been disappointed! The food is excellent and the service is very good too. I would definitely recommend the brunch (that can fully be vegetarian if you specify it to the waiter) and the nutty vegan cake :) The place itself is really pretty too. One of my favourite spot in London!
S. F.
Amazing restaurant. The mango butter is just 🤤🤤
G. D.
We had a fabulous meal.Service was excellent.
J. C.
Regulars here. Always great food and service
D. A.
Love this beautiful restaurant for brunch!😍
The burnt aubergine and shakshuka are to die for, absolutely delicious! Really good middle eastern flavours and cute ambience! Also, really nice service and overall an amazing experience!
A. W.
This place is a hidden gem! I visited today for brunch. The ambience in this place is so relaxing, the wooden minimalist interior and plants give the place a really clean earthy vibe. Now the food, my friend ordered the shakshuka and I the "burnt" aubergine. This has got to be one of the most delicious breakfasts I've ever had. With lovely flavour combinations that really take you to the Middle-East, and generous portion sizes, I think this will have to be my go to fancy-breakfast spot.
Our mocktails were slightly delayed in coming to the table but we didn't mind, the floor manager was so apologetic and lovely and ensured it was taken off our bill! Such a kind gesture that we weren't expecting, Lovely staff, can't wait to come back
H. W. H.
Wow. After a long time, I enjoy my food. The food is too delicious. The environment of the place is excellent. The service is so fantastic.
M. B.
It was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance, the music... Everything was perfect. I strongly recommend this restaurant!

Good food with knowledgable staff regarding allergens.
A. J.
Amazing food. Combinations so tasty. Ceviche 👌
s. c.
Exceptional taste, value, style and service. I absolutely loved my food which was made with imagination and flair, whilst having input from all the sorts of cooking types that I love the most (broadly: middle Eastern, but more specifically covering many of the Stans, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Sicily etc). I went on a Sunday lunchtime and didn't have to queue, which was a surprise for such a lovely place. Only negative - slightly noisy as not many soft furnishings. But really not that much. Staff were exceptional and really dedicated. I expect this will soon be a place with a queue...
C. B.
The perfect place for brunch! Friendly staff, a wide, tasty, menu including vegan options and good atmosphere. My only down point is the music; I understand this place needs to be all hip and young but it’s impossible to have a proper conversation without shouting here. The noise is definitely 80+ decibels at busy times. It would be great if the music could be turned down a notch.
Edit: thank you for the fast response!
L. 2.
The salads are fresh and so tasty especially their aubergines. You can take away a box for about £6. Considering how tasty the food is that’s the best deal in the neighbourhood!
Staff was always polite and very friendly. It’s a bit off the Main Street but well worth walking the extra 50 meters. I go there at least once a week.
E. S.
An excellent dinner experience for all of us. The food is top notch and the service was great. Reasonably priced too. Plenty for pescatarians/vegetarians.
T. P.
Awesome food. Awesome service. Awesome night out.
V. B.
Outstanding service with fantastic food. The food is so flavour rich is just unbelievable, everything is fresh and prepared with upmost care. Our respect and thank you to the chefs and the whole team.
D. T.
Wow! Deep flavor, friendly service, an imaginative menu that caters equally to carnivores and vegetarians or even vegans...what’s not to love? Compared to other places specializing in small plates, Amber offers exceptional value for money, with twice as much pork cheek, lamb shoulder and roasted leek pie as we were expecting (we polished it off because we couldn’t leave a bite behind). One tiny quibble: Our drinks arrived halfway through the meal. Amber could sell more drinks and make guests even happier by sorting this out.
M. S.
We really enjoyed our brunch here. Great flavours and super service. Going back soon.
C. B.
Excellent food very original recipes tasty ingredients super friendly staff had a nice atmosphere all round. Not a lot of wine selection and perhaps lacking in gluten-free options but but has a very appealing high and rustic feel to it it as well as a great vibe All Round 4 Dates friends catch ups and long overdue get-togethers highly recommended
C. E.
I went for Sunday breakfast it was delicious and I can wait to comeback thank you
A. B.
Great food. As a vegetarian there was lots of choice and the wine was fab too. Recommend the Rose (which ever was closest to a Provence? I think the Moroccan one) Lovely restaurant in a good area!Together with 4 friends we visited Meatopia in the Tabacco Dock in London. For breakfast we found Amber and what a pleasant surprise this was!
M. S.
Highly Recommend! AMAZING FOOD, customer service, and great time had by all! - They have a huge variety of meat and non meat dishes (half our party were vegetarian) and it was delicious and great value...I booked a table for me and my friends, when we arrived we had good seats, attention from the staff and that was all just bonus material after the food!! Every one of us walked away from the place looking extremely forward to coming back! Thankyou for building such a high class venue!
s.
Interesting menu and delicious food... Especially the lamb! Good friendly service too
f.
We adore amber. The menu and food is amazing. It’s great for brunch. The service is ok and the stuff they start putting out for lunch looks amazing. When in London we always stay at Tower Hill and enjoy the short walk here. We’ll be back
M. A.
Amazing wow👍
G. C.
Best breakie I've had in a long time. Have to try the challa
A. W.
Really tasty food and unusual flavour combinations, enhanced by lovely decor and reasonable prices. Go with several friends so you can try as many dishes as possible! 3 of us sharing a bottle of wine and 7 different dishes came to just £25 a head. I especially enjoyed the charred cauliflower and the pork belly.
It's a shame for them that it's hidden away so it doesn't get all the foot traffic it definitely deserves, but at least you're likely to get a great table without having to wait.
D. D.
Exceptional spot! The food is really good and homemade. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They also have an amazing, well priced, wine list (the best in the area to be honest) and incredible craft beers!! An instant classic for the area! Oh and the coffee is excellent!
H. E.
My favourite restaurant in London.
The food is creative and tasty, the international staff are friendly and pampering. The menu, which changes quiet often, is always a genuine feast.
Amber is also one of those rare restaurants where you can have a nice conversation (laid-back atmosphere where you can hear each other!). Go there anytime, breakfast/lunch/dinner or coffee/cocktail - you will not be disappointed!
E. R.
Stopped by for a really tasty brunch. The food is very hearty and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Don't forget to get some cake as you leave - scrummy!
N. B.
We had a very nice breakfast and when they setup their lunch, it was really hard to leave!
J. C.
I can’t speak highly enough of Amber - I live locally and have probably taken at least 5 or 6 different sets of friends there. Most recently they hosted my daughter’s baptism meal, where they accommodated 25 people amazingly. The food is absolutely top drawer and the service and personal touch takes it to the next level. A great restaurant and great owners and staff - you can’t go wrong by visiting :)
M. N.
Every time I visit London I will come here without fail! I get excited to discover another item on the menu as everything looks too good to miss. The presentation of the food reflects the entire cafe; stylish, colourful and ridiculously appealing. Not to mention the friendliest staff who always look so pleased to see us walk in.
Already excited for next time to try yet another delicious meal.
D. H.
Venue, food and the staff are just fantastic! We booked a table for a party of 8 and enjoyed the bottomless brunch + prosecco option. The food was delicious and came in generous portions. Great selection for veggies and vegans as well. We'll definitely visist again soon! Thanks Amber!
C. K.
Kind and polite staff, lovely interior. Delicious, light, colorful and fun food. This restaurant made our stay in London so much better with its brunches and lunches. Thank you so much!
A. S.
Great staff, fine deco, good food. The lamb pita burgher is just a blower mind! Also try the trout with beetroot salad! My son love their freshly squeezed apple juice! Definitely raccomanded!
А. В.
Extremely loud! Aubergine wasn't great, couldn't finish my salad
F. D.
Very good food, drinks, and service
N. A.
Friendly Staff, Food is delicious (salad 👌🏻👌🏻- pide 👍🏻👍🏻- burak )
D. N.
I was amazed by how beautiful this place is as you can see in my posted picture. I tried the fish of the day (can’t remember what it was) with salad for takeaway and it was incredible! The salad was so tasty and it didn’t have excessive oil or anything! I really want to go back to that place for a proper dinner!!!!
B. O.
One of the best casual restaurants in London, hands down. Food is amazing, coffee is excellent, great to just hang out. location bit tricky to find but worth it. Go there every time I’m in London.
J. A.
Delicious breakfasts and coffee is superb.
Book ahead for a larger table as it's popular with groups.
The bottomless breakfast is a really good deal of you're especially hungry.
H. N.
Its actually a hidden gem.
Like diamond, if you find it then you'll get crazy about their food. I think they serve the best food in this locality. Every time i dine in here, they actually make me think that regular dishes can be amazing.
I am not a review person but this is so tasty that i couldnt resist. The location is surrounded by luxury apartments.
I am a vegetarian so cant comment about meat dishes but whatever i have eaten at this place is just yummyyyyyyy. You should try it once and thank me after that.
M. H.
Very lovely restaurant with friendly staff, delicious food and hart warming atmosphere.
Perfect for couples and groups.
Must try the lamp shoulder, and chicken skewers.
Down point in the desert the was a little tough, don't misunderstand me it is as amazing as your taste buds can handle.
S. R.
Cannot get over how delicious my burnt aubergine breakfast was yesterday!! Definitely a new favorite eatery. Absolutely love the vibe of this restaurant.. great for large groups too as the space is decently big. Looking forward to visiting Amber soon again!!
D. T.
This was undoubtedly the best lunch I’ve had in a long time and served with a huge smile too. 2 tasty salads and beautiful moist salmon. The flat white was terrific as an added bonus! Absolutely, definitely coming here again and would highly recommend 😁 x
A. D.
Really nice food, challah toast very tasty but on a small side. Decent coffee
E. N.
The restaurant offers really good Middle Eastern food full of flavours, bringing sun on rainy London. Good service.
y. r.
Delicious! We just had the best meal here before our movie screening at Curzon. This is a real new gem in Aldgate and a perfect spot before a movie at the local cinema.
The aubergine in particular was amazing, as well as the homemade hummus. Each dish was a taste explosion! The best meal I’ve had in a while.
Generous portions (3-4 per dishes couple) and such high quality food- we will be returning :)
A. K.
Absolutely delicious food and friendly staff. I love every item on your menus
L. W.
Lovely food in a beautiful little restaurant. We were served by a charming waiter who was so helpful when dealing with a birthday cake. Great for vegans and dietary requirements too!
M. R. F.
Loved the vegan cauliflower pita!🤩
S. B.
Amazing food, always fresh and really tasty. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.
R. A.
The atmosphere is classy and the breakfast food is simply amazing; the flavors are quite unique and memorable. Also, in my experience, the service has always been timely and friendly. I love this place!
K. C.
We headed up there today for brunch. We got bottomless brunch and it was delicious. We all were delighted with what we had. Great service also great staff very friendly. Great place to have a brunch. I'll definitely go there again.
D. W.
Tasty breakfast - good mix of healthy and not so healthy dishes. Shakshuka was great! Coffee ok - not the best. Spacious, clean and welcoming interior which was nice and quiet first thing on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff. Definitely returning
L. S.
I really liked this place. The toast was great and the staff extremely friendly.
S. L.
Modern take on classics, the place is incredible inside, the food is on par as well. Highly recommended.
M. G.
Warm and elegant place, fresh food and drink, prepared at the moment.
Since I came in I felt really comfortable; the restaurant design, woody and realistic with exotic plants to make that place, a perfect place to enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch like I did.
I love Mediterranean food and the full range offert of Amber is the perfect combination for a healthy and a great meal .
Lovely and professional waiter Miguel and a perfect owner, Pierre, they made my experience there truly great. I was in love with the desserts proposal, the spinach and pistachios cake, it was my choice but the brownies had a look really “ gnammy “
I want to come there again, to try the dinner !
Thanks to all Staff Amber
O. R.
What a Surprise! From the tasty and freshly prepared meals, to the pleasant atmosphere, the accurate wines and tipples list, and last but not least the lovely and passionate staff, Amber is genuinely OKAY! Can't wait for my next visit.
S. M.
Nice outdoors brunch, thanks!
C. M.
We tried amber today (having lived in the area for almost a year!) and were blown away. Food is excellent, interiors are carefully thought out, and the staff were all friendly, welcoming and engaged. Every item in the menu looked divine; we will definitely be coming back to try more
J. B.
Every single dish we had was tasty, I've been for both lunch and dinner now and this place deserves to be on the map for top restaurants in the area. Even the mulled wine was excellent!
V. W.
i have only been once for lunch. I reserved a table for three as it was a work lunch - but was really not that impressed by the table that has been reserved for us. The food was nice and in that respect i have no issues. A little bit annoying to me is that I asked for the bill at the end and it was then given to someone else in my group - this is quite a rude thing to do in my book.
M. M.
We had: Burrata; chicken skewers; pierogi and panna cotta. All food was delicious and very well presented. Very nice, chilled out, easy going atmosphere. Food is as beautiful as in the pictures online and tastes really good. The panna cotta is amazing but is hard to choose... everything was perfect.
M. M.
Cool place tucked away in Aldgate and my goodness does the food pack a delicious punch! Went for breakfast at the weekend and had the Aubergine Poached egg with a side of bacon, and it was incredibly good (seriously). My friend had the Halloumi Fritters and was raving about them as well. Looking forward to trying the lunch menu another day.
E. S. E. (.
Delicious food, friendly service, instagrammable decor of grey walls, round lights and green plants hanging everywhere with candles on every table. And did I mention the delicious food?!
A hidden gem right now, as you have to really look hard for it and walk in from Leman street. Absolutely worth it!!
M. G.
Absolutely delicious food. I had dinner here and it was truly excellent. The reason I dropped a star was due to the pricing and I would be interested to see what amber’s reply is.
For example a side of aubergine with labneh and chimi churi is priced as the same as chicken chop? That seems a bit unfair no?
As a veggie it made for quite an expensive evening - 40 pound a head and I have to say I had some toast when I went home.....
N. O.
Food was very nice, although when we booked the table we didn't realise that everything was actually tapas so it was a lot more expensive than we expected. But everyone enjoyed themselves and the food was great. The recommended amount of 2 plates per person was just the right amount for us.
J. B.
Amazing menu (with Turkish, Middle Eastern and Eastern European influences) great decor and ambiance, friendly staff and delicious cocktails. One of the best meals I have had in London for a while.
E. F.
Can't believe I waited so long to come here. Like an Ottolenghi for boozy millennials. We had the aubergine, cauliflower, burnt leek pide and veggie koftas. Great wine too and the lovely waitress gave us a free shot after our meal 👍
M. L.
I adore Amber, the food is refreshing and can make any day one of the best. The staff are so lovely and attentive, the management is great and the overall experience warms my heart. Very rare find in London and I highly recommend everyone to visit at least once as I guarantee you will be hooked!
S. C.
I’ve been here 4 times now - it’s been great every time. Highly recommend this spot for brunch. Pictures here - huevos rancheros (would’ve preferred a softer tortilla but still nice) and a smoothie (it was great!).
D. B.
Service was great. Really loved the hummus - it was silky smooth and favourful. The lamb burger was amazing - full of meat and veg and absolutely delicious!
Q. C.
Such a great place, food is so delicious. The hunger steak is the best!
V. G.
A nice place for a team lunch, definitely not a place for a date. Attentive service and a nice but rather limited selection of dishes. Ambiance is great. Was extremely easy to book a table for seven.
H. H.
Serving creative middle eastern tapas dishes and refreshing cocktails in a sleek Scandi inspired setting, Amber is easily among the best new restaurants in East London. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere relaxed, yet smart and the food incredibly tasty; truly a pleasant dining experience.
f. d.
Dear Amber, thank you for your response. I think the food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the staff was very friendly. The portions were on the small size in terms of value for money and as a hard hearing person it was very difficult for me to understand my lunch companions due to the loud music + amount of noise.
T. W.
Very interesting menu and incredibly flavorful food! The staff was delightful and the service was fast and impeccable.
K. S.
There is not many places like this in london! As a vegetarian I’m always struggling to find good quality, fresh lunch! Here you have this beautiful selections of salads and veggie main dishes! They also do amaizing coffee and mocktails! Plus the place looks gorgeous and you just want to stay there all day! Stuff is very cool and friendly! I definitely recommend 👌
W. S.
The perfect place for a hip brunch in London. Amber has delicious and unique cocktails with well crafted and delicious dishes. It works perfectly for a breakfast date or as a place to go for a group brunch due to the variety of its mix of lite and heavier dishes.
J. S.
I ate here for brunch last Saturday and what a treat. First of all the seating/setting is very cool: modern but also chic with polished wood and chrome, but also hanging vines and an open kitchen. Plus the salads and desserts are spread out on a low table for you to gawk at.
I got the avo and kale on sourdough and my god it was amazing. It went far beyond the boring avo on toast as the kale and cauli rice, almonds, goat cheese and herbs were wonderfully mashed together atop the enormous slice of toast. Wonderful flavours of spiciness, sweet and savoury. I ate it all. The chai latte I got as well was creamy and frothy with the perfect taste of cardamom and nutmeg.
I also got the veggie quiche and the miso banana aubergine, pumpkin and carrots and parsnips salads for takeaway. The slice of quiche was HUGE and filling for lunch a few days later. The mix of salads was fantastic: similar great blend of flavours.
I would love to return here again. Defo a new favorite!
C. H.
Very good service staff. Food is great
G. L.
Very good middle eastern food. The appetizers are particularly good, including the hummus and the cauliflower. The place is nice and quite new and the service is very attentive. The price is surprisingly low for London standards.
S. P. Ś. B.
Great food and nice place in very strange part of London. Just change music from this Latino pop 😆
H. W.
Modern, friendly, chatty, bustling middle Eastern all day cafe/brasserie type place. Good prices and great for a sharing mezes feast for 9 mates. In a super new development near Aldgate with 6 fabulous horsey statues.
C. H.
Nice location and friendly staff. Slightly disappointed by the brunch - ordered the “açai bowl” and it was some granola with yogurt and tiny sprinkle of açai powder... definitely false advertising and would suggest their names reflect the items instead of glossing it up for something its isn’t
T. F. (.
Really good. Fast service, friendly staff, good food at reasonable price
N. Y.
Good salads, plates, etc. But we waited 20 minutes before anyone serves our table, and that wasn't for a lack of trying to get staff attention. This may have been the 1 in 1000 time that happened. But it was our experience.
M. D.
Great job guys. Breakfast was a dream. To lunch i had a chicken pita burger. I find no words to subscribe it.. Perfekt taste!!
Nice atmosphere with good sound👍
E. B.
Lovely decor, great food, london prices i am afraid but the quality of food is fantastic. Friendly staff
F. A.
Good vibes, food was good. Clean and great service.
S. S.
This place is fantastic. Great for any meal of the day using quality ingredients and healthy cooking. Friendly staff and dog friendly too.

Cosy place , tasty food , nice coffee
Ideal for breakfast , lunch and Brunch

I went to Amber for breakfast a few months ago and had a wonderful Shakshuka. I went back today and ordered a Shakshuka, and there was some confusion as I ended up being given a fry up but I didn’t mention it because the fry up looked wonderful. Then the gentleman came over and apologised for the mix up, and said he had made the Shakshuka and boxed it up for me. So I had a wonderful fry up and I have a Shakshuka to take home, I couldn’t possibly rate Amber highly enough. Great food, lovely staff, my favourite restaurant in the world!
L.
Another place tried with the Eat Out Help Out Scheme. Really good if you want to something light and fresh. This doesn't mean the portion is small. Its the ingrediants
G. P.
Beautiful design , lovely, refreshing and original food ! Spacious, luxurious , a real oasis in the middle of a concrete desert. Suitable for any kind of experience- "from mild to wild". You won't regret it!
A. F.
I must say this is one of the best places to eat in London! The combination of flavours is the best I have ever had! Staff is very friendly and professional. It is neat and clean. But the food is outstanding!
M.
Love this brunch spot, plenty of delicious choices, service is great too
G. P.
My favourite place for lunch in the area! All food are beautifully prepared, ingredients are visibly fresh and everything tastes deliciously! Try the aubergine salad, my all-time favourite!
L. “. A.
Excellent food and smoothies. Service is great and caring
A. v. B.
Have been for brunch and dinner quite a few times and every visit the food and drinks have been very good. Staff is very friendly and the interior is beautiful with plants hanging from the sealing and wooden design furniture.
D. I.
Exceeded expectations. Friendly staff and super tasty food. Recommend the cod fritters, pork belly, and mango baklava.
L. R.
Loved the vegetarian options: cauliflower, aubergine, beetroot. Good sized portions, reasonably priced. Friendly staff, nice interior and good atmosphere. Highly recommended for both lunch and dinner!
D. P.
Nice staff, great interior design, generally it has a good atmosphere... however, food was not as good at all... plates are a bit over pricy for the amount you get and flavour was 3 out of 5... Also, be careful because they charge you for the tap water, just 1£ not much, but they should tell you before asking for it...
E. K.
Great food options and friendly staff
M. D.
One of my favorite places in London to have Breakfast and Lunch! The staff is really friendly and the food is great, there is a nice vibe in this restaurant and I would defenitely recommend going here either when you live in London or if you are here on a Holiday :)
F. F.
My favourite restaurant in east London. Food is tasty and the menu changes every so often, with always the same quality!! And of course the staff is super friendly — just come and enjoy :)
T. O.
Amazing food! Great atmosphere! Strongly recommended. It is away from tourists routes so it is mostly locals here or tourists like us.
M. R.
The bottomless brunch is great value for money and the food is pretty good. It’s just a shame the locations isn’t a bit more luxe.
T. P.
Came for a late night snack and had some great food!! So happy to have this joint near by. Great ambience and good mix of freshly made food. You can taste the difference.
K. J.
This place rocks!!! Lots of awesome veggie options too.
E. s.
Came here for brunch, the staff are really friendly and the food was delicious, the only thing is that because of the quite hidden location and it being Easter Sunday it was quite quiet but that ultimately didn't bother us but might if atmosphere is what you are going for. Great though, looking forward to coming back
F. F.
Great place for any type of meal really.
Super friendly staff and great food.
Probably best for the bottomless brunch though, lots of amazing little plates to try out.
J.
Excellent food,polite and swift service😍
T. F.
Amazing flavours. Such a mix. But it works. Haven't had such delicious, unusual food for a long time. Asked to try their best sellers as menu so out there. Coming here again.
M. G.
I’ve been here 3 times, superb every time. Healthy food bursting with flavour and it’s pretty good value for money. It’s a local restaurant but the quality of the food is more like something you would expect to find in Shoreditch
S. M.
Great! One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in London. And beautiful decor!!
Will be definitely be back to test the evening menu.
A. S.
Delicious food and lovely staff.
C. B.
Excellent food! Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff :)
s. m. K.
One of my favourites places, I am always there , the chicken pita and the orange almond cake are to die for ❤
E. K.
Great place, friendly and quick service, tasty food. Great atmosphere too. Only thing I did not appreciate was the odour on my clothes because of the open kitchen (but that's only me being peculiar about odours)
D. C. T.
Amazing middle Eastern food. The aubergine was out of this world. The space works great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even takeaway for eating in the park. Wonderful staff top it off.
S. C.
Quite hidden away with the ongoing construction but worth trying when you are around the area. Good food selections on the menu. Particularly enjoyed the turbot dish!
u. g.
Beautiful place ! Delicious authentic food and amazing people :) great warm atmosphere, wide range of choices on the menu and excellent coffee. Highly recommended!
R. M.
Amazing service with attentive staff. The fresh hummus and pita bread was delightful, as was the nduja pide and chicken.
C. K.
absolutely love the food, great gluten free options as well. Very friendly service and good atmosphere! Will definitely come again!
D. P.
Great food and the service is warm and friendly. The Curzon cinema is next door so this is a great place to get a nice meal before watching a movie.
L. F.
I love this café. Décor is great and really fun. It's hidden away a little but the menu is wonderful and staff are friendly. They use a great mix of flavours.
A. W.
Delicious. Wonderful service from all staff.
Try the Turkish pizza!
F. G.
Great menu selection and bang for buck. Spacious and the staff is quite gentle and atent. Would recommend for groups.
G. B.
A really good middle Eastern-tinged brunch with a bottomless option (with or without bubbles). Doesn't hurt that you can double dip and get some lunch options too, as the clock ticks closer to noon...worth a try in a cool, up-and-coming block of East London
R. D.
Love the sharing style dinner menu - great for an evening with friends. Aubergine and 14hr glazed lamb shoulder dishes are a must!
N. B.
Lovely dinner at a great little spot with outside tables. I will return!
C. P.
Everything about this restaurant was great. The place was clean and smelled good. The staff and greeter was very nice.

Nice strong coffee and friendly waiters.

B. B.
Super delicious food. Really lovely staff. Just a bit hidden out of away but definitely find it, well worthwhile. 😊
M. H.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. A nice change from all the standard food in London! We went back twice on the same day :-)
M. C.
Great service and very good food. Will eat here again. Due to the construction nearby it's hidden away next to the movie theater. Hopefully people don't miss out on it.
R. D.
Set a little back from the main street, Ambers food is a joy, best to choose many small dishes. The salad bar is always entrancing. A+
C. W.
Five stars and more! Absolutely fantastic meal! Wow! Great service! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back there soon 😊
E. Z.
Amazing food, decor and service! Absolutely loved it! Every single item we ordered tasted great!

Best thing on the menu Burnt Aubergine. Such a delight to dine there

Hidden gem, easily one of the best restaurants in London for breakfast lunch or dinner (in some cases I’ve been 3 times in one day)
T. A.
Staff are lovely, portions are quite small in the evening but have not tried lunch menu. Definitely worth a visit as staff and decor are lovely
A. Z.

Very nice food, good service and nice atmosphere
L. Z.
Nice middle East Mediterranean food. Good service and nice atmosphere. Good covid measures too!
A. T.
Although the food was good, the portions were small and for that matter rather expensive. Service was not great either as I had to wait a long time for my food
J. F.
The best Shakshuka in London, bit pricey at £10.50 but totally worth it!
m. b.
It would be easy for an old gosh out of towner like me to dismiss this place for it's unfinished urban decor and over achieving style but the food was wonderful, I have been vegetarian for 35 years and am overjoyed to say the beetroot dish was the best I have ever tasted followed closely by the cauliflower wonderful wonderful not cheap but really wonderful, can not recommend enough beautiful.
M. H.
After a long Travellingday from Germany to London, on a nice warm Evening… we had a very good meal and a very nice time. The place is open and clean an the service is good.
O.
Lovely bright and friendly restaurant. Good choices of food and drinks. Excellent for a brunch meet
T. H.
Excellent, friendly service. Fantastic food. Good cocktails. Very cool decor. Highly recommended.
D. A.
Tricky to find without a sat nav, just ask directions from a builder on the street. Clean, staff nice and helpful Food tastey a little cold, coffee tepid. I would go again but check prices before
ordering.
J. H.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and very delicious food! Just a little expensive but you definitely get a lot for your money
A. S.
Definitely best cafe in Aldgate East. My favourite place for brunch as well!
Super cosy atmosphere and always friendly & helpful staff.
Love it!

P. C.
Food is absolutely wonderful! Full of flavour, colourful and healthy.
I order it to the office every week- I'm hooked.
O. T.
Very good food at a reasonable price, cosy atmosphere and a lot of light. Definitively recommend!
J. N.
Loved our first visit. Good food options, super tasty, excellent service. Unexpected flavours and lots of new things to try. My only negative was the deconstructed baklava which tasted nothing like a baklava without the super sweet syrup. Otherwise, amazing.
S. S.
Friendly staff, excellent service, vibrant atmosphere, outstanding food. HIGHLY recommended.
L. M.
Very welcoming and tasty food 👍
d. i.
Hmm, to be fair the food tasted really nice, prices were just a wee bit high and I wish they had more options on the full menu side ... But that's me
J. M.
Little hidden gem, delicious, and friendly staff
c. h.
Always a joy to eat at amber restaurant, great range of simple and delicious food from breakfast to dinner. Small criticism sometimes the waiting staff could be friendlier.
