Reviews of Arte e pasta
J. R. S.
The staff made this place - knowledgeable, friendly and on the right side of relaxed. A quirky, beautiful setting with delicious food and good wine. My only criticism is that the pastas were the size of a starter portion however advertised and priced as a sharing plate, even for premium grain and handmade pasta I felt the prices of pasta were too high. This however will not deter us from returning but would do so when the menu is varied so we can try different dishes. Dog friendly too. Definitely worth a visit.

Had great expectations from this place but sadly won’t be returning back. The price is high for the food served. However our waiter Sophie was very friendly and attentive 🌟

I am amazed! Wow! Everything is amazing in this place. Been here 3-4 times and tried everything in the menu. Steak is super nice and tender. Pasta gives you Portofino vibes. Tiramisu? Dear God! Food is bomb! ♥️
A. H.
We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon on the terrace enjoying plate after plate of delicious Italian food. It felt like we were on holiday!
Everything we ate was delicious, but highlights were the bream (pictured) and the steak with courgette fries, the burrata with loquats (like eating gelato), and the seafood pasta.
We could have ordered the whole menu, it was so tempting.
For dessert, you HAVE to order the bombolone - a mountain of hot, sugary doughnuts with a rich chocolate sauce. The Italian meringue and tiramisu were also great.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Thank you! We can’t wait to come back (and also to try Bombetta)!

Today we went to this restaurant for the second time. The first time was when they were doing a smaller menu during COVID restrictions and it was one of the best meals we'd had in a long time. I began to worry I had blown it out of proportion in my head but today has shown me just what a powerhouse this place is. The food was excellent- bursting with flavour and a great range of colours and textures. Add to that the beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and delicious drinks. We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Lovely restaurant, we had a table in the little terrace and it was lovely. Great service and super friendly waiter. We order octopus carpaccio and beef ragu, everything was so tasty, homemade pasta. We really like the vinaigrette onions. Desserts, nothing to say, you have to try them, donuts highly recommended.
Great value for the fresh homemade food

Great little gem for this area. We really enjoyed the small plates / starters and the pasta we ordered was really good! Reason for 4 stars, we thought the vegetarian main we shared overpriced for what it was, and tasted only okay. I would visit again but maybe try more pastas instead.
Staff were really friendly and attentive.
E. H.
Absolutely incredible experience at Arte E Pasta. The member of staff who served us was so attentive, giving us recommendations and even letting us know that the chef could make us a unique, off-menu vegetarian pasta dish. The space is cute and quirky with great outdoor seating; and the food was so, so tasty. It was so fresh and original, it felt like a really special night out. It is a little pricey, but the food and experience is well worth it. It's all authentic Italian ingredients, too - and you can tell! We had four courses between two, and a drink each, and it came to £90. Come here if you want an especially tasty Italian feast!
D. M.
Lovely meal last night, the whole experience was faultless. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable advising what portions you might want to order. Hard to pick highlights as each course was excellent with clearly fresh ingredients prepared very well but the asparagus was fantastic. Very relaxed vibe in an interesting room made for a perfect evening.
M. D.
I had originally written that the food was good and it is. The seabass was cooked well and had good flavours. The steak looked like it was done just right. The salads were fresh.
But this place is pretty expensive for what we had. It came to roughly £70 per person. The food is supposed to be shared but, honestly, I'm still hungry.
I have been to Michelin starred restaurants that have better quality for less and left feeling more full.
It's a shame because, aside from being over priced, the standard is good.
B. G.
Wonderful evening at Arte e Pasta. We were a group of 12 so had the set menu of 5 courses, which we would highly recommend. It was absolutely sumptuous, a really generous feast. The huge variety, range and quality of the food was spot on and beautifully presented. A total knock out and hard to pick highlights as it was all fantastic. Staff were welcoming and attentive without being fussy. We loved showing off our local restaurant to friends - thank you for a great evening.
A. J. C.
Been here 4 times now. It's on the slightly more expensive end but the food is absolutely unreal. Easily my favourite restaurant in London. The food is seasonal so the menu changes often but there isn't a single thing I wouldn't recommend. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is perfect. Don't be deceived by the somewhat random location, this place is perfect. I've come here for Birthdays, Reunions and Anniversaries and I'm always blown away.

We visited here on Saturday night and the flavours and options on the menu was really interesting and diverse. The place itself has a nice enough neighbourhood vibe and we had a friendly welcome. However, the portion sizes seemed to have reduced since we last visited. Mains, and especially those described as ' main sharing dishes' (there were three of us) were very small. Three to four mouth falls each between 3 people for main sharing plates - we were there for dinner. For the price of the dishes and the size of the offerings this is an overpriced offer and not sized for sharing or main meals. Again, customer value and business profits go hand in hand, please reconsider portions guys.
C. Y. L.
We love the food here! All of the dishes we ordered are very good🤗
D. L.
The food is fantastic - some of the best Italian food I've had in London. The wine is also great (we only had the house and it was beautiful). However, the service was extremely slow (over an hour between starters and mains is not normal), so you should either be prepared for a long evening or be prepared to be very pushy (on the second time that we chased, the food appeared).
E. H.
No hesitation in giving Arte e pasta five stars - not only was the food and drink incredible but the staff were super friendly, helpful, attentive and made the whole experience. It was also great value for money - 2 of us had a seabass to share for our main and it was absolutely huge, and was cooked to perfection. Oysters were clean and fresh and the courgette fries were a lowkey killer. Will visit again. And again. And again.
C. R.
Great location, great atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. The food was tasty and well prepared. However, presentation of the plates (e.g. crab gnocchi) was rather lacklustre. Whole meal about 15% overpriced in my opinion.
L. B.
I had high hopes as other reviews were glowing and friends had praised this restaurant. However sadly our visit did not live up to expectations.
The ravioli we had was hard and chewy, it didn’t taste like it was undercooked but rather a fault of badly made pasta and the filling was dry and overcooked. The rest of the dishes were a good size and tasty.
On arrival the staff were attentive and helpful however this ceased throughout our visit and not once did anyone ask us how our food was. The late arrival of our pasta was apologised for but not made up in any way. For the price of the food we expected better service, we had one drink each and the bull came to £100. A few of the staff members were dressed in hoodies which didn’t feel right with the rest of the vibe of the restaurant, which is relaxed, but stylish.
All in all a bit of a mismatched experience.
K. L.
Definitely Recommend! Food is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fresh and so nice, the flavours were unreal ! The atmosphere is really nice and buzzy, staff were very helpful with the ordering and very friendly, our waitress was Sophie, she was brilliant ! Lovely girl and nothing was too much trouble ! My 2nd time there and we will definitely be going back !
C. W.
We loved the venue, the atmosphere was fantastic but the food felt confused. You can't doubt the quality of the ingredients but it didnt seem to be done properly. Food was below our expectations unfortunately. We'll come go try again though and hopefully change our minds
G. H.
Somewhat of a mixed experience when we went for dinner on a Friday night. The space is nice, and the staff were lovely, with prompt and excellent service. We ordered some wine, oysters, two other antipasta salads and two pasta dishes. The wine and oysters came quickly and were delicious. However the rest of the food came out so slowly. We waited 30 minutes for our salads, and then another 30 minutes for the pasta. In terms of the food, the salads were nice, although not outstanding. One of the pastas was lovely, the other unfortunately somewhat underseasoned. Overall, the experience was ok, but almost 2 hours at the table for 2 salads and 2 pasta dishes is far too long for service. The prices are also quite high, which I don't mind for good food, but the quality of some of the dishes was in my view not worth the cost. This place has loads of promise, it just didn't quite live up to expectations
B. L.
Really love this place. The food was so delicious, especially the blue cheese salad, oysters and mussel linguine and the house wine wonderful. Really friendly staff, lovely setting. Not too fancy but welcoming and u pretentious. My new fave place in walthamstow!
E. G.
I’d love to rate this place higher, but both times we’ve been the service has just let it down. Broadly friendly but really not attentive. Last night for example, we waited ages for starters to be cleared, had to ask three times for water and twice for our wine (only to be charged twice for the one bottle), variously had to actively go and get someone if we needed something. The list is longer for the first time we went. The mushroom pasta also tasted a bit odd, but we were so fed up of chasing people down for things we didn’t want to have to deal with it at the time. Honestly the venue is great and I’ve mainly enjoyed the food so we will be trying it again and hoping for the best!
E. W.
So lucky to have this gem on our doorstep. Delicious food with plenty of vegetarian options, friendly helpful waiting team who gave excellent wine advice and a great vibe. They kindly gave the birthday boy a tiramisu too.
C. B.
Just fabulous. We are really lucky to have these guys, what a welcome addition to the Walthamstow dining scene!
Attended on both nights it has opened so far - once the night before lockdown to sample the pasta, and the first day of outdoor dining, for the Tear4Fritti pop up on the newly kitted out terrace.
Food is exceptional, and reasonably priced for the quality, with lovingly-sourced ingredients and friendly staff. The house wine is a real treat.
The first and second of many memorable nights here... if we can get a table once people catch on!
F. B.
Enjoyed a second excellent visit here, perfect for a special meal. This time we actually chose to sit out - yes it was a chilly evening but fleece blankets and heaters made it a cosy and enjoyable evening. Really delicious food and excellent service from the friendly staff.
J. J.
Great local spot, friendly service. Food was delicious with really high quality ingredients - particularly enjoyed the prawn tagliatelle. Will be back to try more from the menu!
C. Q.
Stunning food, delicious taste combinations, interesting but not wacky. The staff were lovely too. I almost don't want to recommend it so we can always get a table...
R. J.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Phenomenal tiramisu.
L. A.
Beautiful place, incredible food, and such amazing service . We have lived in Walthamstow for years and this is by far and away the best restaurant we have ever had the good fortune to enjoy!! Highly recommended!!
J. M.
Food here was absolutely delicious and great wine options too. Lovely airy setting and friendly staff.
M. S.
Excellent addition to already growing vibrant restaurants scene in Walthamstow Village. Ordered delivery from here as we were just four houses away. Menu was limited due to lockdown so we ordered Calamari and Panacota dessert and for our total surprise they also added complimentary veg frits and samolina savory cakes(not sure what they are called) to our order. Food was super delicious and portions were of good size. Definitely recommend this plat.
D. C.
Impossible to fault - excellent food and great service in a lovely setting. Not our first visit and certainly won’t be our last!
P. W.
Phenomenal! Me and my girlfriend are new to the area and thought we would try this place out and we have left with huge smiles on our faces. Food is unreal, service is unreal, the whole place is unreal! we cannot fault a single thing. Best Italian meal we have ever had. We will definitely be regulars. Thanks Arte e pasta
M. K.
Firstly I had emailed the restaurant directly to make a reservation and a week later my email has still not been acknowledged.
Made the reservation via Open Table, mentioned we wanted to dine outside and that it was a special occasion. Neither was known or mentioned by the staff, who were going to seat us inside. Inside is quite cavernous and noisy and not what we were after on a special occasion meal for two.
Anyway, got a nice table at the end of the alley which was cosy and nice atmosphere.
The staff looking after us where nice, unfortunately he didn’t say his name but he was very passionate about the dishes and ingredients.
We ordered a couple of cocktails, we noticed when the bill came that the gin and tonic was a double. We weren’t asked……
The food is delicious but the portion sizes seem quite small for the price and the sharing concept.
Overall it feel that little bit overpriced.
C. E.
Food is good here and it's a really lovely setting. Service has been quite chaotic a few times that we've been now. More than once we have had to ask for dishes to be sent out after a long wait, or just ask for them to forget about it all together.
This is a really nice place and the food is of high quality, they just need to improve how quickly they get the food out. We waited an hour between our pasta course and the sharing steak, at which point we didn't really want it.
I would also say it's a bit pricey for what it is - easily £50 a head if you have a bottle of wine. Could do with reviewing prices - £16 for a plate of pasta in London is a bit much - especially when you have Lina Stores and Bancone doing much cheaper.
However, it's a good local spot and a good addition to the area.
J. B.
This restaurant is a undiscovered treat. The food and service here is second to none, try the fresh oysters to start then enjoy their brilliant food pairings on the menu, I love the small plates, sharing menu! The portions are good size and the quality of the ingredients is clear is fantastic. They offer a Michelin star quality, this neighborhood restaurant definitely worth a visit.
B. C.
Great combo of small plates with fresh ingredients and we'll crafted pasta dishes. Ordering carefully is key, treat the small plates as sharers that work well with whatever you're drinking. Ask the staff for their recommendations as they know their menu well
N. H.
We loved this place the first time we went, so we went back again and enjoyed more things from the interesting menu. The burrata orange thing is amazing, the pear and blithe cheese salad is ace. We’ve had fish of the day, steak, gnocchi. It’s all been really nice. The wines are good. The service is good.
E. A.
The food was nice. I am not crazy for pasta but my offspring are but I know it's handmade on the premises, I saw the bags of flour! The mussels were very tasty as was the Tiramisu, which I love and the house white was decent. Lovely friendly staff
V. G.
This place is the real deal. Maybe the best service of any restaurant in london. It really feels like family. Food, drinks, sweets, all divine
A. B.
Food is excellent. The fresh pasta is what you need to try here. A little pricey but the ingredients are top quality and flavours are deep so it’s justifiable. Strangely, the balsamic pickled onion punched so much flavour - it was quite unexpected but memorable. Lucky to welcome this quality place to the neighbourhood.
A.
Nothing but positive things to say: staff are very friendly, especially the red head lady (didn't catch her name, but she's very funny), the decor is nice but the food is absolutely amazing. Honestly just go and try it. But beware! The two main sharer section portions are much larger than they lead you to believe - if you're getting one from the 1st sharer section, I wouldn't get too many of the small starters. And the steak is enough to feed 3-4 people, not the two it suggests on the menu! But not a problem if you have left overs as they can give you a box to takeaway. The pasta was more Al dented than I'm used to, but I got used to it quickly and the flavour (I had the porchini mushroom pasta) was incredible. Best dish: the chickpea ragu. Overall a great place to go for a date or with a group of friends.
k. b.
The food was delicious, especially the beef cheek ragu and the bruschetta. And the staff were very attentive. However, we did have a few issues. Firstly, all our food came out at once, every course! It literally all came within 20 minutes of sitting down which is ridiculous when you're trying to have a relaxed dinner. I sent the mains back and asked them to wait 20 minutes which they agreed to. Queue over an hour later and no mains. We had to ask for them in the end, for which the staff were apologetic. It did feel quite chaotic in there, and we had to ask for our drinks 3 times. I would also say that the cocktails are VERY overpriced. £12 for a cocktail is excessive, even for London. Lastly, the men's toilet lock wasn't working. The toilet is literally in the restaurant and quite a few men got walked in on, with people in the restaurant seeing them, this is really not OK and should be fixed ASAP
A. C.
Ate here last night and had a wonderful time. What a cool, sexy place! Great addition to the neighbourhood. Perfect for groups of friends or date night. Stunning venue. Food delicious, fresh and fun. The Beef cheek ragu was exceptional. Lovely House wine (Barbera) and the doughnut balls for dessert were an easy winner. Service could have been a touch slicker but very friendly and it's a new restaurant and didn't bother us at all. Menu changes regularly so we plan on becoming regulars. Can't wait to go back.
C. M.
I was really looking forward to eating here but ended up feeling disappointed. Service was chaotic, food and drink very expensive for what it is. Shared 5 dishes and didn't love a single one - found it generally lacking in flavour. Crudités that are supposed to accompany one dish arrived 10 mins after it. Shame! Maybe we were unlucky as others clearly have had a wonderful time...
K. M.
Spent a lovely afternoon eating lunch in the sunshine here. Really delicious food, delicate flavours, fresh and tasty, well presented. Friendly service without being intrusive.
We'll be back on a day we can tuck into what looked like a top-notch wine list.
Would advise booking for the daytime to get a sunny rather than shady spot.
R. M.
Very overpriced for what you get, £17 for five ravioli. I left hungry and got a pizza round the corner at the local pub. The wine is also very overpriced £30+ for a standard bottle. The pasta was the star of the show and very tasty, just not enough of it. Service was friendly.
M. D.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and food. Mushroom tortellini was on quite the salty side, so one of our friends who had hypertension couldn't eat it unfortunately. Tiramisu and doughnuts were delicious, though.
T. M.
Absolutely delightful - incredibly friendly and welcoming staff and delicious food. We sat outside (blankets, cover and heater provided) and had the small plates menu. Looking forward to returning and excited to try the pasta when they fully open!
P. M.
Lovely neighborhood Italian. The interior decoration benefits from the art on sale and the food is of high quality. Waiters are friendly and service is good. A nice addition to the neighborhood.
C. T.
Delicious, well prepared dishes, fresh ingredients. Lovely atmosphere and great team.
N.
Nice to have something a bit different on the doorstep but we weren’t overly impressed with the food. It all lacked seasoning and there wasn’t any on the table either. The mussels and clams were very gritty which ruined the dish. Pasta was either too al dente or overcooked. Scallops were lovely but missing the guanciale that was listed with them on the menu. Overall, overpriced for what it was. Wine and service were good.
I. F.
Great food, great drinks. The melonchello drink was fab. Burrata so good. Tomato salad was exciting. Cant wait to go back to try the pasta dishes when they are allowed indoor guests. Staff were fab too. Lots of blankets and heaters too :) Thanks to Jo as well for being such a fab host
B. B.
Fantastic food, airy and well ventilated. The food and service were top notch. One star docked as it was so noisy. Please install sound dampening! I could barely hear my dining partner at the end, we were both shouting at each other.
P.
Excellent, reasonably priced Italian - great for groups - well worth the trip. They missed a dish but were very apologetic and comp'd dessert. Recommended.
J. W.
Wonderful, creative, delicious food, very friendly and attentive service, as a plus they are child friendly
J. F. P.
Great ambience, really friendly and attentive staff, superb food. Some of the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy. Combination of sharing plates and traditional antipasti - primi - secondi format that works really well. I heard they are considering another premises near Blackhorse Road.. please let this be true!!
T. L.
Great food and friendly service. Ambiance is great and love the art on the walls.
S. T.
Every serving of food was full of flavour, amazing food and great service, very tasty. Would go again.
B. T.
I came here for a birthday lunch. It was a little quiet but the food was great - particularly for vegetarians. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Walthamstow
K. H.
Delicious! Such good food, such lovely service 👌❤️
S. B.
The best Italian restaurant in the area. Good menu, quirky location and excellent service.
A bit too pricey and portions are slightly small.
P. F.
Attentive service and delicious Italian food. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood!
N. D.
Great atmosphere, really good food and advice from staff. Transportation to southern Italy
J. W.
This place is a find. Even with the restricted menu and outside dining, it was a fabulous experience. Good food, wine was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit and we'll definitely be back.
A. S.
Wonderful menu, authentic Italian food. Sharing plates but not tapas. Vivacious atmosphere, friendly staff. Wheelchair friendly.
K. S.
Overpriced for the portion size and quality of the food. The edges of the 18 quid lobster ravioli were hard as it if had dried out and 20 quid for a sharing Camembert was too much. I was underwhelmed.
J. M.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. The service was fantastic making sure we had everything we needed, but also left us to enjoy our meal.
D. O.
My favourite place to eat in Walthamstow. Great cocktails, brilliant food and the staff are really friendly.
D. K.
Unbelievable! What amazing food. I have not tasted Italian food this good outside of Italy.
A true trattoria!
C. D.

Incredibly friendly staff, fantastic freshly made pasta and other charcuterie. Highly recommend.

Excellent. Lovely menu. Had a wonderful sharing main course of sea bass. Excellent service.
E. P.
Place super nice ... service super super super .... the people working in there giving the best to customers and they are a tremendous asset for the restaurant......I didn't gave 5 star because the food quality is good but need some improvement expecially on seasoning but worth the visit anyway .......Well done all
J. N.
Great service. Excellent food.

Very rich but expensive food, not for value but definitely great for quality
J. L. D.
Tasty food, small portions, expensive bill. Waiter was pushy trying to make us order more food.
It is ok but I'd not come back.
