Reviews of Aubaine Marylebone

Stopped by to grab a bite to eat and a coffee with my friend. Had Avocado Toast, which was yummy, but the poached eggs were slightly over cooked. However, the service was excellent 👌

I found this lovely little restaurant by chance today and was looking for something nice to eat but didn't have a lot of time to spare. I was given a nice window table and service was excellent. Plus, they made me my salad exactly as I asked. Also had home made lemonade which was delicious. I will be going back here when I next visit the area. Highly recommended by me!
M. F.
Delicious food and nice ambient for a work lunch. I had the burrata with the bread basket and it was enough to fill me up for lunch. On the expensive side but worth the money in my opinion.
J. M.
I had a great French Toast Brioche with a perfect cappuccino. Interesting and varied Breakfast menu and not too pricey for this area of London. Bright and airy classic french styled restaurant with young and polite waitresses.

This is a chain of restaurants, and been to them before, but at different locations. Very nice layout of the restaurant and the staff were very attentive. Food was great as well; would recommend trying it

Gorgeous setting, waiters very friendly and helpful. Went for Sunday brunch and it took over 50 minutes for the dishes to be delivered. Once it had arrived, it looks delicious but really lacked in flavour and seasoning. Asked for eggs to be easy over but they were rock solid in the centre. Found it all to be quite dry.

Excellent service! The happy hour specials were fantastic, and the food in general was quite good!
M. L.
Great breakfast menu with a good selection. Food delivers on the taste.
Place is bigger than it looks!
H. S.
On the expensive side but really good and worth it. The service is great and personal, and the place is really nice: calm and tucked away from all the buzz on the main street. Their pistachio cake is amazing- one of the best desserts I've ever had.
R. W.
Nice place for appetitivo, and desserts. Main course is a bit of let down.
M. Z.
The ambience is nice.
We were a group of thirty five people book the upper floor for dinner. We were served a 3 set menu.
The food presentation is nice
the quality of food and the taste is good
The staff are very friendly and helping
There is a ground level seating which is also nice
Small tables outdoors
The beetroot with goat cheese salad is amazingly simple and tasty.
Fish plate was good also
G. W.
French inspired menu with a range of light and healthy dishes in addition to brasserie type options.

The Food was amazing!!! The Maitre'D was super professional, made our experience unforgettable. We must go back there upon our return. The lamb was exquisite!!
A. K.
Very nice location. Staff are kind, prompt and proper. Excellent Coffee. Will definitely repeat
M. M.
The food was good and the staff members were very friendly. I thought the space would be prettier!
R. S.
We only went in for coffee and a delicious fresh juice. The menu looked good but quite expensive.
V. B.
We had our company Christmas party here. Everything was delicious and the service was absolutely amazing.
S. S.
Busy construction site with lack luster coffee and indifferent staff perhaps having a bad day
H. M. A. B.
Relaxed environment with quick service and friendly staff. Recommend for everyone.
S. F.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, friendly and attentive staff. A lovely local hotspot that's worth checking out.

Normally we come here for the breakfast and afternoon tea. Today we decided to come for dinner. It was a wise decision as we really enjoyed it. I always take photos before I start it. But this time, I only remembered it when I was already half way😅.
For main, I would recommend the VE dish - miso glazed aubergine. I was wondering if aubergine would get much flavour, it could be still hard and not cooked enough or it was just full of saltiness . But I was wrong, the aubergine was cooked really well and full of layers of flavours, firstly it is miso giving salty pouch to open your palette, followed by soft silky aubergine hugging to your tongue, then farro grain mixed with herbs added freshness to you. It was very nice.
For dessert, we chose the Vacherin : strawberry meringue, vanilla cream, and vanilla ice cream. It was beautiful 😍( look at it in the picture) meringue was crunchy not sugary. One mouth full with meringue and vanilla ice cream wow , so good!
For drink, I highly recommend their Marco Polo tea. It tastes different before the meal and after the meal. I had it before the meal, it smells and tastes like milky Earl Gray a little bit fruity flavour hiden in the background. Then, I added more hot water after the meal, it starts to give more tea flavour and makes you feel satisfied and relax.
The staff here are always nice and friendly. Love it.
J. R.
Beautiful and calm experinece. I enjoyed the food immensely. Thank you 🙏

Great food, great service and lovely setting.

Very good food and service. Really nice ambience.. washrooms need attention.
Overall, staff are helpful and friendly. Will recommend to friends...
B. Y.
Perfectly cooked high quality food. The restaurant has a great atmosphere.
N. M.
Good spot for breakfast/brunch
N. T.
Very very average. Can't fault the staff. V friendly and attentive. Food was like warm or cold across the board. Cold plates.Disappointing portions for the price. Didn't have the booking either when we came in - had confirmation email for Google. Better places for brunch and for the price I would suggest.
P.
Always a pleasant time at Aubaine ! the food is amazing and the service is great ! really recommend the French toast.
S. L.
Nice, just nice. Fish undercooked. Good server.
S. S.
Have returned twice for group dinners (20 or so each time). They do reasonable priced fixed menu for such occasions with good wine list. The food on the whole is good. The calamari is better than London average. Didn't feel rushed despite it being very busy.
L. S.
The deal was £15.50 For 2 courses. Starter was good: Mushroom soup, walnut salad. The main was very disappointing. Steak absolutely inedible. Rubbery, chewy and was sent back. Chips were great. Got Sea bream instead...not fun of this fish..but the sauce and veg were good. Good atmosphere and interior.

Chain of French restaurants, this one being in Marylebone. Very quiet on a Sunday night although they seemed to have a lot of takeaway orders. The waiters were friendly and attentive. The baked camembert was very good. There were some very typical French dishes on the menu.
H. K.
To be honest we only had breakfast so not fair to judge a restaurant on them alone but a comparison to the Cote up the road on a like for like basis is. The food was okay with exception being the potato rosti which was tasteless. The 3 star score is based on value for money, it was very expensive by comparison and the food no better. I know where we will breakfast in the future.
B. A.
This cafe is definitely a step up offering good coffee and tasty meals which are not only prepared well but creatively. The service is efficient as well. Nestled a few steps away from the main Marylebone street it offers some peace without being isolated. Definitely recommended
R. D.
Delightful Sunday brunch venue. Recommended by the staff at the Ginger Pig across the street.
M. J.
Loved this place. Really great menu across the starters to the desserts. Food was delicious, drinks good, apart from a limited beer menu and really loved the brightness with the floor to ceiling windows. Secret dessert item is cheese board which is the best option!

Good customer service, quite a Posh restaurant

Lovely setting, but less impressive in most other respects. I visited Aubaine for a birthday brunch at the weekend — the decor is pretty and the place is much bigger than you might think from the outside. That said, the service was really slow — from when we sat down, it was over an hour before we were eating. When it did arrive, I had the eggs Royal, which came on really solid toasted brioche. I'm probably just not a big fan of French cuisine (rubbish coffee too!) but it was very odd.
L. A.
Fantastic little spot this one! Yesterday I dabbled in the French breakfast which was a delightful cacoffiny of Gallic favourites (including some surprisingly delicious kale - see photos for details). I rounded off brunch with a creme brulee to avoid any sort of rudeness. Today (I went back again) I plumped for a lobster brioche - also blummin lovely. Overall it's pretty mega and there are lots more options on the menu to tickle any of your particular fancies. Lucky I'm in the area tomorrow 😉
W. K.
This place is much cosier than the thumbnail would indicate. Try the french toast brioche!
C. D.
I came yesterday, with my dad in Aubaine Covent Garden on the terrasse( sunny day), the manager offered to me a dessert because we waited for our plates and because some starters ordered were out of stock! Thank you dear manager! The quality of the service and the meals were perfect. I will definitely coming back and spread the word! It is so rare, much appreciated.
See you soon! CHD
M. A. A.
Very good service, may suffer slightly if full. Great food, amazing dessert selection, friendly staff, delayed atmosphere.
G. B.
The place is amazing, a little dream. A perfect outing with your friend or a date!
The dishes and drinks are made to perfection and the desserts are delicately made. I believe however that the place is a bit pricy but worth going to!
C. G.
Nice spot for brunch. Just docked a star because some portions were comically small. Suggest checking with your server before ordering.
l.
Good venue for a quick dinner. Shared a selection of small plates and good selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Lacked a little atmosphere.
R. a. S. L.
Been here a couple of times. Food was good and staff was lovely. Went for dinner on Mother's Day, and my wife for a complimentary glass of bubbly and some biscuits.
L. L.
The food is seriously good and fresh, waiters are great and really care about your experience in their restaurant.
C. G.
Was looking forward to visiting here and although there was nothing particularly wrong it didn't have any wow factor that would make me want to rush back. Nice enough but definitely special. Top tip, try Le Vieux Comptoir across the road for a better experience
L. B.
Another favourite in W1, always good food and good service at a reasonable pricing. Refuse to pay the service charge and pay the waiter instead in cash, the restaurant pays only 1/3 of the service charge to the staff, that’s so unfair!
L. W.
Chocolate éclair is to die for! Marylebone is one of my favourite places in London and Aubaine, a great cafe.
P. G.

Great food and service. Absolutely delicious. My only complaint is the lack of gluten free desserts
A. Z.

Limited choice due to lockdown but what they had was delicious!

F. A.

A. S.
Had a great meal in lovely surroundings. Sea bass and roasted veg was very good Thought the price was reasonable.
R. H.
Meal was ok if a little meager for the price. Service was a little slow. It's a chain so don't expect too much.
K. C.
A varied and reasonably priced menu. Well prepared food served by friendly staff in a relaxed environment.
C. H.
Great food and excellent service for a fair price. I had a delicious Œufs Benedict and Marco Polo tea.
N. D.

A. T.
Love love love this place! Miha is just amazing, she made my birthday brunch very special😊
E. E.
Sometimes you may get nothing as once I waited for my main for an hour, sometimes the service can be excellent. Its just up to you to try it as these kind of things can happen but the staff were helpful.
K. 1.
Relaxed yet contemporary venue serving modern French dishes with a nod to the traditional.
