Reviews of Aubaine Mayfair
L. A.
Really fantastic food and drinks.
We had a lovely today and Anaise (sorry if we spelt it wrong) was brilliant as was our male waiter.
Our only point is that for a bottomless brunch we felt the drinks could have come out a little a quicker.
H.
Amazing quality of the food. Exemptional service. You can clearly tell that all of the ingredients are fresh.
K. R. -. H. L.
We had a fantastic time at the restaurant. The food is amazingly delicious, the service is excellent. We will come back for sure.
D. S.
Very nice food and staff - only issue was portion size was a smidge small (mainly a consequence of my choice). Otherwise a fantastic place and would recommend!
T. C.
I had a lovely brunch at Aubaine. I wanted somewhere nice to take my mother out for brunch and for that, Aubaine was perfect. It is on the expensive side, but you get excellent quality of service and food for that price. I had a filter coffee that was prepared and filtered at my table. The pistachio cake I had with it was delicious, with a delicate balance of flavours. I had the scrambled eggs with black truffle which was simple, but delicious. My mother had the goat's cheese which was also delicious. The decor is simple and rustic. Would recommend for a nice brunch, on the higher end of the budget.
L. B.
I had a meeting with one of my friends. She took me to this place since she works around the corner. The restaurant is big and spacious....
The service was polite and friendly. Impeccable. Very please with that
The food was delicious, they even gave us ...complementary sweets... that was a nice touch
The toilets are spacious and clean
L. B.
Went to this one as the Selfridges branch was fully booked. Cocktails (and food) are soo good, wish they had more cocktails the menu! Staff, Sara, in particular was so nice and friendly! Definitely going back very soon
M.
Great set menu - two courses for £17. We enjoyed the warm bread baked on site, the octopus carpaccio then the steak (£3 supplement) and fish dish. Food was good for the price and a lovely menu for a summer’s evening.
Where Aubaine excelled for us was the superb service. Staff were energetic, friendly, thoughtful and very attentive. It’d definitely be the staff and experience that would bring us back again.
J. J.
The food is delicious!!! The lobster Benedict and wagyu burger are mouthwatering. Our waiter was amazing. A relaxing atmosphere that you will love.
O. A. N.
Had a rather nice breakfast 🍳
M.
Did not book a table but there was plenty of room. Food was good but portions were small. Staff were attentive and helpful.
S. S.
Great service, ambience and I had the best Mille Feuille ever!!
T. L.
A fine, reasonably priced place that's well worth dropping by. Had and thoroughly enjoyed the mussels (pictured), served with fries - a decent portion, cooked in a delicious garlic sauce, just sublime. The staff were friendly, and the decor was well-suited for a relaxed meal on a Sunday afternoon.
E.
This used to be my first choice for brunch but today’s experience really left me disappointed. The service was very slow and not at all up to the standards. On top of everything they forgot my side and this is how a portion of chips looks like...overpriced frozen chips... too bad.
Update: we’ve been offered two complimentary cakes without even complaining.

Great food wonderful service

Pricey but eggs and hollandaise sauce was perfect. Staff were polite a lovely place to sit and chat with friend or business
A. V.
Great food and super friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

we had lunch here and the food was incredible. i had the chicken paillard and it was so flavourful without being overwhelming. the atmosphere here is also great. would highly recommend!
E. C.
Delicious coffee & croissant, with super nice service & ambiance. Thank you :) will be back
J. R.
This is a great restaurant. The back wall is covered in flowers and decoration or you can people watch from the front window. Great menu and service at all times of the day.
R. R.
Lovely place to discuss art while sipping your macchiato or Earl Grey after a tour through the surrounding galleries. Lovely staff.
C. T.
Super nice and friendly staff with a great tasty food. The Chicken breast croquettes and Baked Camembert is a must try 😋👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
J. C.
Food is fine, the atmosphere is really nice!

I had my birthday brunch here for my 25th, they kindly provided us with a private dining room for 14 people which had a lovely decor! We did have to wait for a bit at the entrance as there was nobody to greet us and the service could have been a bit faster but there was a lot of us. Overall, the bottomless brunch is good value for money however the menu could be a little bit more extensive but my friends who weren't doing bottomless had a choice of the other brunch menu which was nice. Really and truly the experience was made so enjoyable because of our waiter Jean Pierre, he was so accomodating, making sure we never had an empty glass, super friendly and never got flustered with 14 hungry girls. Thank you JP!
G. P.
This was my second visit to this branch and a bit of a last minute decision as the restaurant of my choice was fully booked and it was my birthday..
These guys were on it from start to finish, they managed to fit us in an hour prior to our arrival.. They asked if i had any special requirements so I mentioned it was my birthday..
Upon arrival they gave us a choice of where we'd like to be seated.. Our waitresses were excellent and very helpful in choosing the right wine for our meal, they were super attentive delivered the best plates of food with warm smiles and knowledge of each ingredient used. They even brought me a raspberry tart with a candle on at the end as a special birthday gift.. The sweetcorn and popcorn soup was creamy and worked wonders on the palette.. I had the special which was hake with capers in a creamy sauce with baby courgettes.. The meal was filling and exceeded my expectations...
This team know exactly what it is to provide fantastic customer service. We'll be returning very soon.. An absolute must, food, atmosphere, service, all excellent..
J. W.
An amazing experience with Aubaine - my partner’s favorite raspberry tart in town is from Aubaine. Since the first time we ate their tart 3 years ago we had kept going back for a single tart. However Aubaine improved the recipe to the current raspberry cake but I really hoped they could make an exception for my partner’s birthday to bring us back to the old time - I called with no hope to be honest. The nice staff JP and his manager helped me to get the cake order to the bakery and fulfilled all my requirements. Special thanks also to Lucas, who confirmed the order for me with patience and Miguel (not sure about his name but he was working on the evening of 21st Jan), who offered top service when I went to pick up the cake. Thanks to the whole team!
M. A.
Service was great, staff very polite & professional. The food was good, I like the smaller plate option as I only eat small amounts, which means I often have to leave the bigger plates. Would definitely recommend if you’re ever passing .
V. D.
Quick service, excellent "avocado breakfast" set. Friendly staff.
C.
I've been here three times, and it has been very average (bordering below avg) every time. The restaurant is beautiful with nice decor and situated in a good part of town. I've found the service to be snobbish and unwelcoming. The food is fine but not memorable, and on none of my three visits did I receive the coffee as I ordered it.
K. M.
My friends and I had a very enjoyable brunch here. We asked to move into a nicer part of the restaurant when we arrived, and as it wasn’t busy, we could choose where we sat. There was a nice little conservatory area that we sat in. The food was good and the drink was free flowing. The staff were attentive and friendly. I’m vegetarian and I had a good choice and my friends enjoyed their non-veggie meals also. I would recommend this place as a quiet place to visit just off the busy tourist area near Green Park.
R. L.
Top-notch service, cosy ambience, flavourful food, a bit on the pricey side, but a good experience. We had breakfast here and enjoyed the bread basket...the only comment would be that the jam pots given us looked communally (and very well) used and we were a bit terrified to dip our butter knives in. Maybe the management can consider providing fresh (and unequivocally unshared) jams for diners? The loos were very clean and comfy, and we really liked that aubaine means opportunity in French...it seemed an apt name for the spot.
P. S.
I enjoyed the calamari, and had a fabulous fillet steak here.
Pleasant (if a little slow) service. Rose wine was pleasant, and reasonably priced. Overall - a very good spot for lunch, I'll be back soon.
B. H.
Went there with a group of colleagues. A very enjoyable experience. Food tastefully combines creativity and tradition. Wine was excellent.
I don't know if it was expensive or not as the bill was picked up by our organization. That made the experience even better !
G. F.
Lovely food and a great atmosphere
W.
Always a favorite for a casual lunch with colleagues, friends or interns. Try to get a table in the conservatory part as the rest of the restaurant can be loud. The salads are delicious, the bread is good, desserts are great too.
B. T.
Great food and amazing service - thank you
A. W.
Great decor. Expensive but not surprising for the area. Had roasted tomatoes with my meal which came out as 3 cherry tomatoes that were overripe and just slightly above room temp felt like they had been put in a microwave not an oven
L. L.
Stopped in for lunch today. Busy place with a lovely atmosphere. Had the sea bass which was fantastic. Would also absolutely recommend the desserts! Hard to choose just one. Great experience.
C. F.
Had a really lovely evening at Aubaine. The decor is very upscale Parisian with fresh flowers and pastries adorning the dining room. We started with the cheese plate, which we were pleasantly surprised to see quite an extensive selection of cheeses. However, the shining moment at Aubaine was the dessert. The waiter brought around a tray with a beautiful selection of about a dozen desserts to choose from. Next time I might just come for coffee and dessert.
J. S.
Lovely restaurant. Great place to take someone for a meeting or a light and/or hearty meal. Staff are warm and attentive with their top ups and recommendations. I would recommend this place. Most definitely will visit again 🍴
L. B.
Nice window seats and a reasonable breakfast. Service could be a bit sharper for the area and price. (£26 for 2x coffees and 2x breakfasts...omelette and porridge) is about the norm around here so not outrageous.
J. B.
Always nice for a coffee, very easy generally to get a table. I sometimes go there early for their poached eggs / eggs florentine. They use very very good eggs.
J. L.
The food is amazing and the staff lovely too. Right in the middle of Mayfair, so perfect to start the night before heading out to a bar or club nearby. Definitely good value for money.
D. J. M. L.
Extremely nice restaurant to share a romantic dinner or to catch up with friends. The have a great pre fix menu with tasty soup and great han, figs and cheese salad and gnoqui as the main dish. Really nice atmosphere. The desert was also amazing both the pistachio cake and the chocolate cake are super tasty
C. K.
We were there for a brunch on Sunday morning and everything was great! From the eggs benedict to the jam and the coffee! Plus very friendly staff, always there for us! We’ll be back.
f. d. c.
Been there a couple of times with work colleagues and I must say I was always rather disappointed with the level of service.
I would imagine that being in Mayfair would imply good manners and politeness to guests. Instead we got really bad attitude from the waiter who mocked us because we asked if they could turn the AC down which was creating an air draft just over our table.
This episode could have been offset by the food. But nothing worth mentioning here.
It seems that now that they have created a good name for themselves, the Aubaine is not making much of an effort to keep the quality high and the service welcoming. Which is the bare minimum you would expect for the price you pay.
S. E.
Excellent service and good food!
A. S.
Nice food (acceptable for the price), nice ambiance. Tables a little close together in places.
Automatically added 12.5% service, which is annoying given service was much less swift/attentive than one should expect at this price point. Should let people tip in traditional way.
D. T.
It was good but not good enough for the price. Dishes were reasonable but lacked the special something I expect from a top end French restaurant. The Sancerre and Sauternes were however rather good.
C. Y.
Great coffee and a nice selection of pastries. The lunch menu looks good too and there's a nice atmosphere. Great for business meetings.
S. E.
Most enjoyable. Good food, lovely service and nice area to accommodate a party of eight of us. Have been before and will go again.
M. S.
Because Wolseley around the corner is out of our budget for client entertaining, we settled with Aubaine....... It’s a chain, but a very good chain! You’ll pass by unmistakably posh boutiques on the way from Piccadilly, just make sure you keep your purse shut tight! Aubaine is a French Bistro with an English twist.
Good service, good food, and attractive atmosphere. I had the fillet de beouf and my dining companion had the salmon. Perfection! Four stars only because the seating is a bit cramped. Worth trying and definitely a great candidate for a go-to business lunch, reservation suggested.
R. C.
Really friendly and helpful staff, nice decor, service good, food ok - have had much better lobster rolls, and the superfood salad was mostly just leaves, expected it to be much heartier based on the description.
P. D. N.
Absolutely amazing! Gorgeous setting and very well managed, Denis is an absolute dream ! Would definitely recommend Tralala and Champagne upon arrival. Many thanks! Shokran !
S. W.
Really great food reasonable price. Tables a little too close together for my liking. Nice staff. Good service.
S.
Delicious food with lovely table’s setting.
Friendly staff and excellent service.
A must if you’re in the area.
Merci beaucoup
A. C.
French dishes are good there. But the pasta was not. Avoid the Italian dishes. It's quite pricey but that's expected for a restaurant in Mayfair.
M. G.
If u wanna have an amazing dinner u must come in here.
The best place for sure for everyone and everything.
Mayfair is very expensive but this restaurant is not that much.
The guys are very friendly and ready for help the customers

Just over a week ago, I was alerted to a new cronut copy on the market by @Wilkes888. Aubaine (@Aubaine_UK) is a collection of restaurants/cafes in some of the posher parts of West London and serves up modern French fare all day. I've yet to try it out (although the food I did see on a later visit looked quite tasty) but more the point I was here for their cro-dough. In short, the cro-dough is rich and flaky, comes in two tasty flavours, and represents good value for money which puts it in a solid 3rd place in the London offerings. As a disclaimer, I got these cro-doughs for free as I turned up on the launch day to find they weren't ready yet although the PR company had assured me they would be.
Aubaine has two flavours of cro-dough on offer: nutella and cinnamon. Both feature the same cro-dough pastry with the nutella boasting a generous piped topping of hazelnut chocolate goodness while the cinnamon one has been tossed in a heavy coating of cinnamon sugar.
The cro-dough itself is fairly large and roughly the size of a flattened softball. It has sharply defined layers (a good sign of a well made laminated pastry) that peel apart with gentle pressure. It has a rich butter taste and is slightly oily to the point it leaves a sheen on your fingers but not so much that it becomes greasy. Toppings-wise, although I love the flavor of Aubaine's nutella, it's a messy proposition with the hot cro-dough causing the nutella to melt and smear. It's good fun to eat - just make sure to have a napkin on hand to clean up! The cinnamon sugar is more evenly distributed which does tip the scales slightly in its favour when I took a straw poll among my friends.
Ah, worth noting that the cro-doughs are only available starting around 8.30-9am each day as the kitchen starts up at 7 and it takes at least an hour to warm up the oil and do the final fry for the cro-doughs.
The Aubaine cro-dough retails for £2.50 if you take it to go or £3.50 if you choose to eat in.
T. A.
Decent food, friendly and attentive waiter. The Maitre d' looked at us like we were something she'd trodden in on the pavement when we had the nerve to walk in and ask for a table, though.
V. S.
Outstanding breakfast. Food beautifully presented. Lovely but limited seating outdoor
B. S.

A bottomless brunch that was truly bottomless. So much food I couldn't finish and the service was amazing. I never even had to ask for a drink.

Chicken sandwich was a bit forgettable. Should have gone with the fish finger one, I reckon. Lovely staff though!

(Translated) We had dinner for the first time in this French restaurant, the large restaurant with several rooms offers both meat, fish and several first and second courses. You can also enjoy excellent cocktails and desserts, the courteous and prepared staff. The place is located in the central area of London precisely Mayfair with its dim lights creates a very pleasant environment to enjoy their dishes.
