Reviews of Balthazar
R. V.
First impressions of this gorgeous restaurant were absolutely great. I had to queue a little to get inside, but valet guy was ever so sweet, and polite, then when I arrived at the podium the ladies were apologetic for my wait and then took my coat, it was absolutely great experience. Bar staff were very attentive, and quick to serve me. Then we ordered food and it was absolutely mouth watering. We had a great experience all in all and I would totally recommend this place if you are passing by, trying to impress your date or just want to have a romantic meal out with your partner.
R.
Brilliant food. Brilliant service! Whilst not traditional definitely recommend getting the buffalo mozzarella with pears to start your meal. Everything came out hot and quick and couldn’t be happier! If you’re more conscious about spacing this might not be the place for you on a weekend as it is ram packed.
L. K.
Great French style brasserie atmosphere, very beautiful interiors, polite service despite being very busy at the weekends. Reasonable prices and great cocktails. Leaving 4 stars because food quality could be better. Had eggs royale two weekends in a row, for £14.95 the salmon portion could be a little bigger and also the muffins quality isn’t great, don’t seem to be fresh but rather frozen. Nonetheless worth a visit when in the area just make sure to book in advance.

I've been a couple times and definitely will go again. Food is very good and well presented. Atmosphere is cosy and luxurious and the staff are helpful and friendly. However it's a 4 star restaurant, there is room for improvement in the service area. Tables for two are small and very close to each other. Good selection of cocktails though.
H.
The highlight of the meal was the grilled lobster which was succulent and had a good amount of garlic butter sauce. The starter was a disappointment and there was no chilli kick. The restaurant space is big however the tables are far too close together that it doesn't make you feel special - like cattle herded to a corner.

Had huge expectations with the place,
The food was good, the service could have been better. I had expected a more personal touch to the experience here, but it was too busy. Overall on the expensive side mostly because of the location not for food and service.
L. B.
Fantastic evening. Great selection of champagne and first class service.
Everything I ordered off the menu was delicious (dressed crab and flat iron chicken). Dined in a private room as part of a 10 year anniversary celebration.
9/10 would recommend.

Had a fantastic evening here with some friends. We had a booking and had arrived 15 mins early but the restaurant was really busy as expected on a Saturday evening. We couldn't even wait at the bar as that was at full capacity so we came back 15 mins later but our table was still not ready and we had to wait a further 15 minutes. That's the only reason I knocked off 1 star because they made us wait although we had a booking.
Once seated our server did everything to make us feel welcomed and helped us with the menu as to not over order and to give her recommendations.
The starters arrived promptly and our mains were also ready but the waitress kindly told us that she would keep the food warm for us until we were ready.
We were well looked after as the waitress kept checking up on us.
Food was great, starters mains and desserts. We ordered the fruits de mer for 1 person and that was enough to share for 3 of us as we had other starters for 5 of us. I had the roasted aubergine for mains and this was delightful, really tasty. All of the desserts were great especially the raspberry souffle. So definitely order one of those.
We had a lovely evening sat in one of the comfy booths. It is noisy in the restaurant as it was really busy and they also play music but we could still have a conversation between our group and not having to shout. It was my friends birthday so they even brought out a profiterole with a candle which was a lovely touch. Small gestures goes a long way.
Overall great ambient, food and service. Highly recommended.

We love Balthazar! It'd get a 5 but I reserve those for about the 1% of places we go. This place rocks, as all Balthazars do. The space is lovely, the service and people are awesome and the food rocks. We enjoyed the onion soup gratinee (excellent!), perfectly balanced; the steak tartare slightly more coursely marbled then we like but still great; and the macaroni & cheese which was delightful! All in all a killer lunch. Go!
J. O.
Pricy, great service and amazing selections. Dressed up crab was delicious starter, Boef was tender, seasoned beautifully, and cooked to perfection. The coup de gras was the raspberry souffle. Hot, light and fluffy, and full of amazing raspberries. I'd swear my body floated after eating something so light.

I've been here a few times for dinner. It's a lovely setting for either a business dinner, date or catch up with friends.
They have a good selection of wines, and a variety of dishes to serve most dietary needs. The food tastes good too.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. I like it and would go again.
H.
Would only recommend for the atmosphere. Food is decent but nothing special and not worth the price. Understaffed, had to wait a while to get service.
C.
Stunning French bistro style bar restaurant. Only went for drinks, so can’t comment on the food. Cocktails are a bit pricey but very well made. You’re there more for the ambiance. Nice place to stop also mid afternoon when it’s not too busy. All in all, recommended to visit
J. M.
The vibe was so much fun! We went on a Saturday night and it was bustling and everything you want from a dinner out. The food was beautiful - steak cooked to perfection and so so reasonably priced. Portions were a very decent size, the staff were very attentive - the Mac n cheese was the best in the world! I should have just ordered a great big portion of thatZ we will definitely return/recommend
C. C.
Lovely evening at Balthazar! We arrived fairly late after a performance at the Royal Opera House but they squeezed us in without making the subsequent service seem rushed. Beautiful interiors, well priced high quality food and the house red was great. The service was outstanding by our very attentive waitress Lucy! Will definitely come again.
R. W.
Always very busy and lively with conversation. A collective diverse set of people come here. Book in advance, hard to get a table off the street. Saturday afternoon they had Jazz playing, which was lovely. The food is good and the staff are very tentative. I always enjoy coming here.
D. G.
Brilliant restaurant and bar in the true heart of Covent Garden. Staff and service are truly excellent, food is top shelf and perfectly prepared and presented. Always an amazing experience, cocktails and wine menu are exceptional.

Went for a business lunch at Balthazar last week and it was an exquisite experience. My request for a more private table was promptly acknowledged by the reception manager Alessia at arrival. Food and drinks were delightful and the service attentive but not intrusive. I was very impressed with the decor. Will definitely go back for a dinner or brunch

Special credit to Valentin (who didn’t even ask for this review). Probably the best barman (who happened to also be the Manager) I’ve seen in London in over 14 years. Puts a “Lucifer-type” atmosphere to the place with his style and passion for the job. Honest advice on what food to choose and great wine pairing + excellent cocktails to begin or finish with.
We went there with a friend at last minute so no booking and over 1h to wait at the bar which turned out to be the best way to enjoy the place.
Quite a loud restaurant, fully packed on a Tuesday evening in post-pandemic London.

When in doubt, I make a reservation at Balthazar. I’ve been here for brunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. There is no particular dish that is extremely memorable, but everything I ever got from here has been decent (at least 7/10). Consistently professional service, even during busy times. It’s a reliable place to have a good dining experience.
R. M.
I've been a "regular" for around 6-7 years now, always enjoy the excellent service and good food at Balthazar.
T. G.
Went there for a pre-theatre dinner on Saturday night and it was absolute chaos. Luckily we'd booked a table, but the West End was hopping and lots of people were trying to get in without success. I felt for the waiters as it was really full and it was difficult for them to get around to the tables as there were lots crammed in. The reception team were fine to my husband and I, but were really rude to our friends when they arrived, accusing them wrongly of trying to look over their shoulder at the guest list when they were just standing out the way of the crowds! The food was OK, not brilliant. had a nice time, but was somewhat marred by the rude reception team.
T. K. Z.
Huge French restaurant in Covent Garden, lots of good options but the French onion soup is particularly good.
M. V. D.
Nice brunch spot, good service and food. Always a fan of an English breakfast. Pastries were tasty too.
J. W.
My friend and I had a brilliant meal here. We started with Steak tartare which was delicious. We were well looked after by Lucy. An asset to the team. Thanks Lucy. Great house red wine 👍🏻
R.
Food was good, nothing exceptional about it. Service was friendly.
L. L.
Great place. And our French waiter was great, can’t remember his name!
Drinks and food absolutely fabulous, would recommend to try a Seabass!
One of my favourite places!
J. A.
Thanks god I arrived hungry, from all the plates I tried I could have not choose my favorites. Dessert probably will pop out with the best rating.
I loved the place. Would come back for sure.
A. R.
Like being in Paris for 90 minutes. Great atmosphere as you would expect French style brasserie to be. Nice attentive service from our waiter George from Georgia, service done properly and of course great food. Top place and thoroughly recommended.
d. l.
Went there to celebrate my birthday, staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered escargot which was so so, but all other dishes were all delicious.
D. W.
I visited a couple of times, a week apart - and I have to say, my experience was consistent. There's a lot I liked about Balthazar, especially the grand setting and bustling atmosphere - however the overall level of service was a bit of a let down. On my first visit, we were well looked after when having a drink at the bar, but frequently forgotten once seated. On my second visit, the restaurant was packed and we waited 45mins past the time of our reservation before being seated. When we asked for updates as to when we might be seated, we were treated rather brusquely. Nothing by way of apology was offered. Really disappointing, because as I say there's a lot I did like - and I should state that the meal itself was good.
M. D. A.
Balthazar is always such a treat and Roberto and Andreas always makes you feel like absolute royalty! Ask for them by name, trust me! Come past if you need a pick me up or before the opera or ballet, it will never disappoint!
B. T.
This place makes me simply happy with its food, service and ambiance whenever I visit. It is great for brunch , lunch and dinner :) Fits for all kind of occasions.
C. M.
Went for a birthday meal here, it was excellent. Excellent service, food was delicious and a lovely atmosphere. We had the table for a long time, and there was no one rushing us out. Will definitely be back.
E. C.
A great place to spend an evening in Covent Garden, the food is truly amazing- the French onion soup and the Vegetarian bake are to die for! The interior is really beautiful and staff very attentive. Seems like a perfect place for a date night, but I personally found it a bit too loud for that.
D. A.
Fantastic place, great service, delicious brunch, coffee was wonderful and the truffles are unique!
P. M.
I'm giving 5 stars because of the waitress called Maria (young brunette girl). Always with a smile on the face and very polite. However the food not so tasty at all. Creamed spinach so disappointed, very "waterly", taste nothing. Dressed crab nothing special on it, waitrose has a better one.
V. C.
The food was very tasty, the place is a bit pricey for what you get and it was very busy when we went, still the decor was interesting and worth going if you want an American - Parisian vibe
J. P.
Great place and atmosphere food good standard although a bit pricey for size it its Covent garden
A. M.
I had a very pleasant experience at Baltazhar, the atmosphere was amazing and so the food. I loved the service at the bar thanks to the Italian manager called Francesco. I will be back
F. N.
The venue was beautiful, but the overall experience underwhelming. The eggs royale was prepared correctly but not much else I can say about it, it also arrived a bit cold. We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice and received your standard juice from a carton - we raised this with the waiter who insisted that it was freshly squeezed... As we were sitting at the bar, we then spoke about it to the bartender who confirmed this really wasn't freshly squeezed juice and took it off the bill. Not a major issue but we shouldn't have had it in the first place.
P. D.
Very much enjoyed this excellent restaurant. The food was good and atmosphere was great; it was very busy for a Monday evening, which says a lot. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and this contributed to our experience. If you like seafood, this is probably for you.
J. N.
Amazing French food !! Lucy was our waitress for the evening and she was amazing - such good service and she took the time to really tell us about the menu and specials. Friendly atmosphere and really good service. I got the grilled veal, onion soup, steak tartare and pistachio sundae. 10/10 for all dishes !!
N. C.
I have had two varied experiences in the last few months here. My first was a Sunday, there was a jazz trio playing, the place was very busy and buzzing, as was my visit this time. However, although the service was attentive in most respects I didnt get the drink I ordered even when I asked for it twice and my salad came without the chicken ordered. This time the service was just as attentive, but better. If you watch the staff and the way they operate on a good day, it really is a thing of theatre. Food was delicious atmosphere was again lively. Some people have commented that the restaurants has maybe had it's day, but I really think there is a lot of life left in it yet. Some of the best service I've experienced in a very busy central London restaurant in a while.
T.
What a great place!!! Great service - our waitress Maria was just amazing, super nice and smiley.
Fantastic for pre or after opera drinks and nibbles!
M. A. Y.
Good vibes with old fashion french style decorated and furnish.
Friendly helpful service.
Starters are great, especially the shrimp, buttery delicious. Oysters are fresh but pricy ( compare with the same price range in other restaurants or countries)
Pate is a bit hard but absolutely home-made and taste is good.
The lobster... was good when I have the right side but the left side was over grilled, so it destroyed the meat texture.
The beef bourguigno, normal standard, got a bitter finish taste.
L. R.
Best lobster I've ever tasted. Service was very good.
S. G.
I had an amazing Valentines meal here on the 14th of February. Ahmed was an amazing, friendly and funny host. I would recommend.
D. C.
Delicious eggs royale. Eggs poached perfectly. Swapped my frites for a side salad for no extra cost. Salad was fresh and seasoned well. We had a great time!
R. T.
We popped in for a Saturday brunch, although the service was very good, the food wasnt very hot and I expected soemthing a little more special than eggs and fries for breakfast.
A.
I've eaten there before the 2nd lockdown .
The tartare was really good a bit spicy but no too much, the Halloween desert was a bit too much I'd say, but still very nice.
Thanks to Fabien for such a lovely welcome on my first visit ! Also great service by Andrei & Mireilla!
S. Y.
Very entertaining restaurant. You can see the cancan dance at dinner time. The food, of course amazing as well.
C. A.
Had brunch here and loved it. The service was fantastic, and they really showed care when I mentioned my lactose intolerance. The food was delicious too, had the almond waffles and it was perfect. I was super impressed when I got a call just after leaving the restaurant to inform me I'd forgotten my gloves! The staff here are lovely and I would not hesitate to go back again!
M. M.
Truly amazing experience. We came here with a group of colleague's. Strait from the entrance you get good vibes from this place. The service and food is amazing, each plate was served exactly how it was ordered. The scalobs and steaks was excellent as well as the dessert. I highly recommend this place. It's also very easily situated near Covent garden with all kinds of public transport. That's makes it also ideal to continue for a drink in the close neighborhood.
L. C.
Superbe breakfast at Balthazar. Very good baguette, the pancakes and egg Benedict were delicious!
S. A.
Beautiful setting but poor service, and average food. Good value for Covent Garden though.
My main issue was the service - they didn't provided a pot for my mussels (had to use 3 side plates), and took ages to take our orders and bring us some more water. On the plus side, there's a 2 course menu for £18 and 3 course for only a few pounds more. Lovely old setting, but would I go back? Not in a hurry.
S. D.
Nice busy, buzzy place with lots of atmosphere. The reception was very nice as were all the staff. The food was good without being exceptional. 2 courses a beer, coffee and the very good service was £40. Reasonable for the location.
P. A.
A london classic for brunch! Really good food and service at a reasonable price! The bread basket and the pancakes are definitely a must!! The room - large and filled with old fashioned mirrors in a french style - has a great ambience and a decent noise level!
E. L.
Went for a celebratory meal with my partner and parents. Service was brilliant, really friendly staff and excellent food, and went the extra mile with a surprise dessert! Couldn’t fault it! Thank you
C. c. f.
Fantastic restaurant, great service and delicious food. We went for Sunday lunch and had the Beef Wellington which was delicious. The meat was clearly of a very high quality and the wine selection was superb
G. R.
♿✔️Quite decent access throughout the establishment. Wide double doors lead to the entrance, with mixed booth or table/chair dining. Paths can get a bit congested when busy but they are kept quite wide. Toilets are on the 2nd floor however they do have lift access which is a nice touch!
We came here around 10-11am on a Saturday afternoon, it was quite busy with around a 45 min wait unless you booked online which is recommended at least a month in advance to secure a spot!
The service was great, making you feel right at home, drinks were out fast and once you orderd the food followed quite fast as well! One served the food was amazing! Definitely recommend coming here at least once just to try for yourself!
Service was a little slow at the end but it was still a great overall experience! Definitely recommend making a booking!
K. W.
Made a reservation for a group of 10 for lunch. Whilst food was very good, the service was beyond disappointing. Our waitress wasn't even trying to be helpful. We had a question about the wine and she didn't even respond. She clearly had no idea but also didn't even bother asking a colleague. Once we had our food the service disappeared completely... very disappointed given I've had such amazing experiences here before.
D. L.
Great ambience and high quality French food. Very impressed with the amazing service from Lucy - will definitely be back!
K. A.
It was nice choice for elegant dinner, the vibes is really wonderful and the team is of welcoming spirit since the moment you arrive the resturant . the starter was extremely very good especially the mozzarella and the foie gras as well as the crab. We were served by Andries in very warm and professional way. All his recommendations were very good and met our taste expectation.
L. “. G.
Wonderful experience! Food was delicious. Service even during busy times was excellent. Can't wait to visit again.
E. M.
This place is absolutely lovely! The staff are absolutely fantastic, it has a lovely ambience, and the food is extremely good. The staff go above and beyond, even remembering orders and faces. The prices are very fair for the food quality, and the tea is fantastic. Lovely breakfast menu, I would highly recommend.
L. V.
Traditional New York City spot offering the same atmospheric French experience in the heart of Covent Garden. The decor is the same, the menu seemed to be exactly like the one you find across the ocean and staff is just as helpful and friendly. Had a great experience with friends for lunch.
D. T.
The food and service is great and the atmosphere is great for entertaining. Being able to book online makes it a plus and they do decent meal deals. Been here twice for lunch and both times we have been very happy with what we have. The seafood platter was amazing to look at and the the steak tartare was also delicious.
J. S.
Tasty food, nice vibe, but just didn’t feel as slick and special as it was a few years’ ago unfortunately
Plenty of staff buzzing around but often not actually doing much, and service from the kitchen somewhat haphazard - kids food came quickly (which was great) but then had to wait ages for ours- eggs were cold, chips missing, and pastries brought after the mains.
Has just lost its magic a bit!
J. K.
Busy and buzzing even before noon on Saturday. Great service, great food and vibrant atmosphere. Went here because we'd previously visited the one in Spring Street New York and loved it. This one has the same Frenchy feel about it and its wonderful. Not cheap but worth it.
V. S.
Excellent food which came quickly when we ordered. Getting the attention of service was difficult. The restaurant felt very packed and not enough space between tables
A. H.
Dropped in (as I love the New York original that has never disappointed)…sat at the bar as I was on my own. Service was good (not great…but pleasant enough). Ordered the dressed crab…fine…but it came in 30 seconds so was obviously sitting in the fridge. Then the steak frites: the beef was very lean…no marbling at all and tasteless, tough and a bit dry. I doubt it had any age on it at all and the quality was not good. Also, not sure how it had been grilled, but tasted of burnt oil. Bearnaise was ordinary. Would suggest that if the Covent Garden outlet wants to emulate the long running success of NYC, the kitchen needs to up it’s game. Sadly, would not go back.
M. J.
Delicious gluten free options. Great service. Live music.
Y. S.
Wonderful service and environment. Very classy place and it works amazingly. I recommend their pastries.
The dishes were fantastic, perfectly executed some very difficult meals with a balanced pallette.
The service was on another level, kind and caring, every dish was fit for my liking.
Justifies the price tag.
A. A. S.
Went here 3 out of 4 nights in London! Staff was great, Eleonora went our of her way to make sure we had a great experience.
S. K.
Fantastic vibe, I was in love with decor! The Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious and a generous portion size too! The staff were lovely and I can’t wait to be back again soon.
H. J.
Everytime I pass or enter Balthazar I get update to write my view. Well I have decided to write this once. It's a nice place and busy but they have staffs and chefs to attend to their numerous customers.
Next time you ask for my review also put voucher for discount.
Thanks
G. S.
Have lost count how many times I've eaten at this incredible restaurant. The vibe, the service, the decor, the food - all brilliant! Personal favourites would have to be the delicious dressed crab and steak tartar starters, with a impressive steak for main 👌 partnered with a white Russian, or for when I go for Brunch, the breakfast smoothie is the best blend in the city!! Thank you for so many joyous occasions at the elegant, extensive Bar and in the gorgeous restaurant. It's one of my favourite spots in the city
S. W.
Unfortunately, the environment was loud and cramped with staff who move the tables in and out so that guests can sit. I can only speak for the rhubarb soufflés that I ordered. It would have been good except for the chewiness on the top and the near frozen ice cream. We probably won’t return due to the environment and the male hostess who was rude.
K. A.
Great brunch food. Seems reasonable price for brunch
L. K.
The good - service, buzzy atmosphere, good eggs royale.
The bad - really tightly packed in (social distancing, for those who still want to would be impossible) and SUCH a limited brunch menu.
Came for brunch with friend and had I known the menu would have been so limited, we'd have gone elsewhere. Only really 4 options (3 x poached eggs, 1 x waffles). Apparently this was because of covid. Perhaps I'd missed it on the website, but was definitely disappointed. Not the best option if you're after a brunch selection.
M. R.
Wanted to have a french soup and went to the perfect place. Very nice setting, great food and very nice staff. Try the soup, the ribs and for dessert they have like an apple crumb with ice cream soooo good!
S. G.
Executed a brilliant steak frites meal. Perfectly cooked steaks. Husband ordered the filet with bone marrow, also great. Thought we did initially receive a marrow bone with nothing in it, they promptly replaced. Good French onion soup. Excellent desserts (esp the apple tarte Tatin). Decor and atmosphere is just like the NYC location.
G. C.
I read that Balthazar was one of the top 10 brunch venues in London. I've not been to many, but it certainly lived up to its reputation. Ideally located in central Covent Garden it is easy to get to and the atmosphere is great. I can recommend the brunch panire to start and the eggs royal. Will certainly return.
E. B.
Been there during the Ventine's Day. There was a special decoration at that time. The ambiance, service and food quality deserves high ratings. The restaurant is always busy, so make sure you have a reservation. Also a good alternative for breakfast or brunch. Plenty of food options, juice section can have more alternative.
A. P.
Fantastic afternoon tea and one of the waiters was brilliant, the service was a bit slow at the start having ordered a bottle of sparkling water on arrival it took 20 minutes to come. Once we ordered the afternoon tea it all ran pretty smoothly. Great atmosphere.
T. F.
Nice but if you like the individual or extraordinary you might be disappointed about the bit over average food and service. Maybe people like the style but the food could be made with more dedication and the you definitely find better coffee around the corner in some 3rd wave coffee shop
M. M.
Very nice surrounding, can't be more central. Very busy so better booking ahead. The steak tartare was delicious which is pretty rare in London, onion rings were so so
Y.
Nice decor, great ambience. Reminds me of old school Parisian brasserie. Friendly staff, great service. We had an excellent breakfast. All the dishes were delicious and hearty, especially the avocado toast, eggs Benedict and the pancakes!
A. A.
Come for breakfast. And left impressed, have never loved a breakfast so much. Place is beautiful, staff is friendly!
A. P.
Exceptional service and a huge shout out to our waitress, Eleanor. Very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and a great atmosphere.
J. S.
Been coming here a long time. Used to be really good. Used to have great drinks and great service. Went on Saturday and the table was wrong, service was bad and the drinks had changed and weren't good at all. Such a shame really. Not sure if new management.
S. M.
Decor, atmosphere and service were all excellent. Moules were gritty though and the napkin left my clothes covered in white fluff! Apart from that I loved it and it was a lovely reminder of my excellent experience at the New York restaurant!
A. A.
Been here quite a few times, always very busy and a lively atmosphere. The service can differ quite significantly but most of the time it’s very good and service with a smile. The brunch menu is solid and if you’re hungry I’d go for the fry up! Recommended for both couples and groups.
R. N.
I arrived early hoping to wait with a drink at the bar but was turned away with barely an apology or an effort to squeeze me in, which didn't endear me to the place. Food was pretty decent once we sat down
L. A.
Take my daughter for a special mum day out every year and have lunched here for the past three. Service in 2019 was better then 2020 and 2021. Nice food and great atmosphere.
R. C.
Wonderful brunch here (eggs Benedict), and refreshments. Whilst the food was presented first-class and tasted lovely, the staff were really exceptional especially the waiters. Really friendly, chatty and willing to serve your every need. This is a well-run restaurant with great seating outdoors. I would highly recommended this for those visiting the area. They also have quite a varied selection of main meals too.
C. F.
We were rushed which ruined the experience. In theory had 90 mins for the table (already quite short?) but they started harassing us after an hour that the table they had booked for 90 mins after us would be here soon. We are three courses but the staff were so pushy for us to leave it was a shame
M. B.
Kenyaa ensured our evening went without fault. Perfect food, perfect service. Feel very spoilt by Kenyaa and the entire staff! Excellent night.
A. P.
Balthazar is located a stone throw away from Covent Garden and around the corner from a few popular theatres. This is the second Balthazar, with the first being in Manhattan and equally recognized by it great bakery.
The interior of Balthazar is reminicent of a French bistro with a large bar, brass railings and red leather seats. The front of house staff can be uptight and abrupt but the waiters are friendly, efficient and willing to address any request. There is a second floor bar that is usually half empty and a good spot for larger groups.
I visited Balthazar for brunch on a Saturday and the menu was limited to a handful of non original dishes such as pancakes, eggs benedict, ommeletes and pastries. I opted for lunch menu options menu instead and the salmon tartare was average and the ceviche fresh but to sweet. The main fish, a cod with broad beans and chorizo was delicious. Price wise Balthazar is average for the area. Stick to the main dishes and visit for a late lunch, dinner or a late bite. There are far superior spots in area for a weekend brunch.

It's a really fun place, let down by the service. Food is decent - if you enjoy the cocktails which are good then it does push up the cost per person.
N. A.
Visited here for brunch. The Mrs had a full English and I had eggs royale. Extremely well prepared food. Our server was friendly and polite without being over bearing. I have to say the staff were also very attentive. The waiter noticed my wife struggling to cut her toast and came over straight away to check she was ok and it wasn't overcooked. The decor is a pleasant too. Prices are what is too be expected for such a venue. Roughly worked out to £25 a head for breakfast, cold drink and a hot drink. Very much worth a visit.
B. W.
Liked the food very much. French style restaurant. We had breakfast there and look forward to have lunch there again in the future.
M. H.
Great ambience. Classic stylish decor reminiscent of 1900’s Parisian chic. The food was wonderful. Service was friendly and reasonably attentive, could have been a little more polished. A divine memorable evening.
E. T.
Best afternoon tea I've tried. Scones were good but the clotted cream was just ok. Kind staffs and comfortable place. They serve dinner as well which looks tasty, will try next time.
L. A.
Delicious food and healthy food with amazing presentation. Restaurant nicely decorated. Service is great and staff were lovely. But very busy in weekends.
L. L.
I had been looking forward to visit this French inspired brasserie and was felt the anticipation grow as the setting is Brasserie Zedel-esque.
However as the evening commenced I was disappointed. My grilled lobster was quite small and overcooked, the fries were ... I'm afraid to say worse looking and tasting than McDonald's fries. The burrata starter and bread were great though (another fellow diner mentioned that their vegetarian main was very good).
The service was also sub-par: the waiter mixed up my fellow diners' steaks, forgot drinks, forgot the instructions from another fellow diner and in general were quite hasty.
Not great value for money at its best, adequate at its worst.
C. K.
Stopped in by chance. Customer Service was decent, although still wondering why they brought my dessert before my main meal. Had a good laugh at that and so did my server. Had the Grilled Spatchcock Chicken and the Raspberry Profiteroles. Neither was bad, yet it didn't tickle my taste buds either. Chicken was rather dry despite swimming in lemon dressing. The Raspberry Profiterole was hard to describe and tasted like cardboard. Overall, dining experience was bad, but I don't believe I'll make a return trip.
A. C.
I had the lobster and my friend the fillet estragon. The food was very tasty but the best thing was the dessert!!! I had something with chestnut cream and it really was a delight!!
C. W.
Excellent restaurant. I went there for breakfast. I like the pancake, Benedict and omelette very much. They are tasty.
The price is quite high but worth for trying.
K. N.
TEA TIME - this is where it's at! Affordable compared to the more expensive tea locations. The finger foods were fantastic and very filling - friends loved the finger sandwiches, the desserts were delicate but plentiful, tea was delightful, and scones/clotted cream were MAGIC. Mouthwatering just remembering it.

The positive experience is started right from the beginning. While we were waiting for the rest of the people, we sat down in the bar. And Beynur started the conversation with everyone to understand their test and expectation on which cocktails would be the best choice. And he came up with a fantastic alternative that everyone was thrilled with and congratulated me on choosing the place. :) Thanks, Beynur. Then when we moved to our table, Genna was a star to make sure all the orders were in place and on time. Her excellent communication skills make us welcome and comfortable. I got another credit from the team because of her. Thanks, Gemma. Good food is given in most London restaurants; people who work in those restaurants make a difference. Beynur, Gemma, Thank you again.
I. H.
Nice atmosphere for an upscale brunch. We ordered eggs benedict and the waffles.
They were both fantastic.
Great service and friendly staff.
M. E.
Great menu and service when we got in, but arriving at 11.25 (door open) we were asked to leave as they don't open until 11.30. Shame there was no sign to this effect on the door.
B. I.
We came for a Sunday brunch, food was nice (specially dessert) and the place was beautiful, but it also was incredibly noisy and very busy. Busy not only because it was full, we had a lot of waiters running around us in obvious stress, sometimes more than six, which made the experience feel a bit hectic.
The menu had lots of meat and seafood options, I'm sure they're delicious. Maybe it's better to come during a weekday or for dinner, when there are no babies crying and it's a bit more quiet.
P. M.
We love this place. We came early without a reservation before a show and ate at the bar. The service could not have been nicer. I had the duck confit, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Beautiful large Parisian restaurant. Pricing is very reasonable.
A. B.
Best place for cocktails. Art Deco Paris vibe. Afternoon tea is decent here too. Best to book for the weekend as always busy.
E. A.
A superb restaurant with an excellent menu and very good wine list. The atmosphere and decor is simply sublime and to top it off, first class service. When near Covent Garden this place is a complete must!
M. H.
An amazing building and atmosphere. Somewhat limited, although delicious brunch menu.
K. H.
Top notch. It features on the list of best brunches in London and deservedly so. The decor and ambience are great. The service is fantastic (we were served by Hana). We will be coming back soon. Highly recommended.
S. N. O.
The place lives up to its name. Great food and service. Recommend - duck and beef pie, burger, escargot.
m. p.
Loved this place. The menu was perfect for me. Oysters, cote de boeuf, crème brulee in a beautiful setting. Lovely staff and very helpful with menu.
S. M.
Especially a nice festive spot to go to at this time of the year.
I was impressed with the food- had an onion soup, and the most delicious Cod with shrimp main, simply mouth wateringly good and I’m a fussy eater!!
Great to go with family, friends or for a date night.
Reasonably priced too for what you get.
J. P.
Food was decent, service was generally good until the head waitor told us our time was up (2 hour slot), which was fine at first as that is what we knew going in there. We then asked for the bill and again after 20-30 minutes, nothing arrived. Next to arrive was the rude head waitor to reinforcing that we needed to leave. Maybe next time if they want you to leave that can be more effective and bring the bill.
F. V.
It’s sick!! Best non alcoholic cocktails and french food I have tasted for a time. Specifically sea bass is heaven!
D. S.
Amazing. Perhaps my favourite restaurant in London. Arrived at 11:30pm and were rushing to eat so the place could close (After a comedy show) but the staff were so pleasant and made us feel like we had all night. The lobster spaghetti, escargot and duck were phenomenal. Ive been to the New York restaurant and thought this one couldn’t outdo that one but I was wrong. Amazing amazing amazing.
G. E.
Compliments good food and good service. Scallop "Ceviche" was exquisite. The desserts (I mean, cheesecake) can get better in taste. Surely I will come back
M. T.
Been here several times and it never fail to mesmerise me. Although I would recommend to book a table ahead of time as it gets busy during dinner time (18:30 - 20;00) especially if you're a big party.
We.orders artisan bread and garlic prawn as starter both of which are delicious especially the garlic prawn.
We had lobster spaghetti and grilled sea bass ala plancha. The lobster spaghetti was bit salty for me, but my friend liked it.
The grilled sea bass with a little bit of salad and roasted potatoes was spot on. This fish can be shared by two people as it's a whole fish including head and tail.
Service was also impeccable prompt quick and efficient.
I must say that it's not ideal for a quiet dinner hotel like setting as it was a bit busy and loud when we got there.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant.
J.
Service 97%, which to be honest is very, very good. Forgot a couple of our drinks. Food was beautiful
F. A.
Croissant: very good flaky

We had a lovely big lunch at Balthazar to celebrate my fiance's birthday, all the staff were extremely polite and made us feel very welcome! They even surprised us with a little birthday dessert to celebrate the occasion. We ordered from the set menu which is incredibly good value for high level of service and food you receive!
R. B.
A great night out. Staff were friendly and efficient in a very busy restaurant. Food was lovely and the wine recommendations matched well.
The highlight for me was the mixed seafood starter with oysters, prawns, whelks, muscles and crab. Incredibly fresh seafood, well presented.
D. W.
Lunch today was really good. Decent prices and very good food. Close to the opera house as well .
C. F.
Well-made food in a lovely setting.
The place feels like a restaurant with a bit of history, in a cosy and lived-in way.
It was very busy and we didn’t have a reservation, but we got a couple of seats at the bar after waiting for only a few minutes.
The avocado toast with poached eggs was very good, the bread was decent and the orange juice was excellent.
The service was very friendly.
D.
Really delicious French food and lovely staff. In terms of Covid-19 measures, the tables are well-spaced, contact details taken and alcohol spray on every table 👍
Toilets immaculate!
Y. G.
I am not sure why this is so well rated. Food is average , and service is really bad. Location and atmosphere is allright
F. F.
Traditional European dishes with a small twist, great selection, bit pricey
By European I mean covering the whole of Europe,
Italian, Spanish, Austrian, French, British, Portuguese, Hungarian.
I had the octopus as a starter and lobster & spaghetti as a main, creme brulé to end, fantastic quality, well presented, portions slightly too small to be really satisfying, but amazing taste!
Make sure to book!
L. P.
Food is good, though the size portions are small. British interpretation of French cuisine. Bread comes as an extra unlike any brasserie in France where it is included in your meal. Slow service considering our table wasn't ready even though we had booked and we had told the management we had a performance to attend.
G. F.
One of my favorite restaurants in London, Covent Garden, excellent service, delicious seafood, pricey but an overall great dining experience!
j. p.
Lovely good, generous treat by a friend, nothing to complain apart from the corkage is rather high to have our own drinks.
C. Y.
Staff are nice but food is average. Egg omelette tastes below average... so does the almond milk latte
L. W.
Pre theater visit here yesterday was great. Nice food. Friendly prompt service. Lovely festive decor.
E. X.
A very hearty Full English Breakfast. Get you out of the hungry state and ready for the day. Flavor wise, very middle-of-the-Road. It’s just done right. Love the beans especially, not too salty or sweet. Would recommend this place to get your day started, and keep you energized through the busy day if you don’t have time for lunch.
S. O.
We went here for an traditional English breakfast. The portion was quite big so my husband and I shared one dish. Overall Balthazar was a great place with good service. I would definitely come here again the next time we visit London.
K.
Went for brunch and the setting was stunning, food was good but drinks were just OK. Service was overall outstanding bar one waiter who made us feel rushed- hopefully he picks up on the rest of the team and adapts!
J. F.
Just had a fabulous lunch today from the two course saver menu, it really couldn't be faulted. Good generous portions of beautiful food, staff were excellent courteous, friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend, the moules marrienere were some of the best I've tasted. At £18.95 for two courses, fantastic value!
s. t.
Beautiful and delicious food. Each and Every time. Love the oysters, mussels, chicken pate and roast lamb..
C. F.
Service was great as were the surrounding but the food didn't live up to the hype as given by other reviewers on here. It was okay at best; certainly not bad by any means but just not what I would have expected from a place like this and the prices being charged.
L. L.
Helpful attentive staff, good food and atmosphere. Lovely decor
M. A. E. G.
Loved the people there and Julia from the reception was very nice and helpfull
E. C.
My friend and I were looking for somewhere to have cocktails and cake so we popped into Balthazar. As it was Pancake Day we had peanut butter and banana pancakes. I had a Batido Maracuya and my friend had a Cosmopolitan. Very chic surroundings and attentive staff.
L. E.
Third time here and always enjoyed the ambience and the service. Old world charm and love the setup. Food is alright and sometimes wishing its brighter so I can see why I eat ;)
A. F.
May have been my choice of food but I didn't like it. Not a patch on the original one in New York.
T. T.
Although it is popular and crowded, they service very fast. We had dinner in the great atmosphere .
A. G.
Great brunch. Simple and very good food. Nice place and good service.
J. B.
Beautiful French inspired brasserie. You come for the really nice food and atmosphere. You come back for the great team who will take care of all your needs is no time
S. V.
One of the best restaurants for brunch. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the location, right in the middle of the city center. Booking is needed on weekends!
W. W.
Beautiful venue in the heart of Covent Garden. Fantastic food and good value for money in my opinion.
N. B.
Amazing place to visit. French cuisine to die for, great drinks menu, staff very knowledgeable friendly and make your time here very comfortable.
A. A.
You “MUST” order the pancakes, they are the best I ever had in my life and Im not exaggerating.
Also delicious shakahoka, and the bread is baked to perfection I highly recommend it.
The best brunch restaurant in London. The seating is widely available and comfortable. The restaurant is warm during winter, and they play good music.
A. M.
Super cocktails, good food, weak service.
Perhaps they are getting back up to speed after Covid, but service this poor for prices this high is going to get you punished when it comes to ratings.
The food was good enough, but my abiding memory will be of the spectacularly bad service, and it was not as if they were short of staff.
L. G.
Great central London restaurant . Nice buzzing vibe . Had a delicious Steak Frites and
Creme Brûlé.
S. T.
I had booked a table for 4 early in the evening, and overall am pleased that I did. The welcome was good, and the food was lovely and decently priced for the location. The very large mark-up on the wines stopped us having more than one bottle though.
Because of the timing (reopening was relatively recent) some of the staff were early in their training. We were all pleased to see how gently this was being done.
So why only 3 stars rather than at least 4?
A senior manage spent much of the 90 mins that we were there leaning against the display of iced crustations. That was bad enough, but he also spent much of his time typing on his mobile - what a great example to his staff. But it was worse than that because he constantly wore his regulation face mask below his nose. When I tackled him on this, suggesting that he was setting a very bad example to his staff he said "sorry sir" and pulled it into the correct position. A few minutes later he tapped me on the shoulder to tell me that we was "usually mask exempt" whatever that means.
A manager who sets so many bad examples to his staff, including partly blocking a much used walkway, obviously should not be in charge.
So food & drink very good. Service very good. Attitude of staff excellent. Behaviour of senior management very poor.
N. A.
Well trained waiters and friendly staff. Lovely food . Will be back soon.
N. N.
Very reasonable and verrry tasty! Perfect spot for breakfast, they do some fab banana pancakes. Their full english breakfast is also delishious and a hefty feed.fantastic value for money. Coffee and pastries top notch.
S. Y. T.
Satisfying meal, delicious food definitely worth to try out. good service and nice ambience.
J. M.
Absolutely love the look and vibe of the restaurant. The service was good. The food was great too, especially loved the dressed crab starter for brunch.
A. D.
Great setting, stunning venue. We sat for an hour or so and had drinks at the bar and were made very welcome by the attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
T. P.
Good food, great service, not the cheapest place to eat but worth the extra
L. B.
It’s rare for a Keith McNally dining experience to be less than 5⭐️. Food is amazing- the tartar, the lobster risotto, anything with duck. Service is courteous, precise, and warm. The interior like all of Keith’s places spares no expense and delivers a finished product that one can see the attention to detail. Maybe to the naked eye, one might not notice but rest assured even the chip on a table or the stain in a mirror were though of. Personally I prefer the location on Spring St (NYC)but when on this side of the Pond I highly recommend a visit. 😋👍
S. D.
Me and my fiance had breakfast without a booking, but they needed the table back within an hour, so advise to book as it was full by the time we left at 11.15am!
The food came very quickly even the bloody mark's, made me think they make it in batches, however it was still delicious. I had the avocado and poached egg which was lovely and a hearty portion. The scrambled eggs and crab was also good. The bloody Mary was nice and spicy but would've preferred it to be smooth and not find bits of lemon in it, it was decorated really well with an edible slice of crispy bacon which was delicious, not seem this before. The black americano coffee was not the best but not bad enough to send back, would've liked a stronger bean, was a bit watery. Staff were good despite it being busy. Overall, I enjoyed this brunch/breakfast and it was tastier than my favourite place, The Delauney I hate to add!
S.
Very loud and crowded on the weekends, so if you want to have a relaxing and quiet afternoon tea, this place probably isn't for you. The service is good though, as is the food.
S. A.
Nice brunch and good atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly!
I. I.
Lovely places are very often linked to special events connected to personal experiences. And that is the case. This Covent Garden's brasserie is on top of a good restaurant a place full of memories.
J. B.
Food very tasty, but most of our steaks were cooked incorrectly.
S. L.
One of my favourite negronis in London. Grab seat at the bar and enjoy!
The food is also good I went to a wedding in the private room upstairs.
Beautiful decor, decent service and value for money.
K. A. B.
First rate service, divine fare and a beautiful, discreet interior. Can't wait to go again!
J. H.
Very packed. Beautiful interior. Above average prices. Average food.
T. L.
I’ve been to the Balthazar in NY so I was super excited to try the one in London! Equally as great - such a fun and cozy restaurant with AMAZING food.
L. K.
I must say their new drinks runner was on Monday the young black male was very helpful. Me and my Girlfriend was waiting for possibly 10 minutes, he saw us and immediately found a waiter to take our order.
J. E.
I had eggs benedict, I liked it. It was like sausage and egg McMuffin burger. I had chips. You don't get those with a sausage and egg McMuffin burger. You get hash browns. I like hash browns.
B. D. C.
Whether in New York or London (and the way it's set up, you might not be able to tell) Balthazar is a consistently wonderful experience. Incredible food, perfect cocktails and a bustling, sparkly ambiance make it a dependable choice every time.
S. P.
A lovely place for smart tea, coffee and cakes. Nice atmosphere, good staff. It's like being in Paris more than London.
Can be expensive so be prepared.
C. A.
Afternoon tea was absolutely beautiful and the service was great. I'd rate the savories higher than the desserts but the presentation was great regardless.
S. A. M.
Best full english I’ve tried!!...great Sunday brunch....excellent and most helpful host..
K. N.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Excellent quality of food (been there multiple times for brunch), the waiter and waitresses are really nice and deliver an excellent service. Highly recommended
J.
absolutely love the breakfasts here
excellent coffee
wam and hearty
C. E. G.
Was there for brunch and had an esquisite almond waffle with forest fruits and maple syrup. It was the best waftle I had in my life (although not something I eat often) and it left me wanting for more. Will most definetly go there again asap.
A. K.
Nice atmosphere, with good food. Afternoon tea was very filling and beautiful to look at. Staff were very helpful.
K. M.
Excellent service, good Eggs Royale, Nutella Brioche to die for, and a great tasting Cappuccino.
J. S.
So worth it! A fabulous special place to enjoy the wonderfully cooked delights of a French Brasserie! Stylish locale, great for the theatre district, made my party go with a bang! Perfect, Thank You!!
J. S.
Caffe Late with shot expreso 👌
S. A.
Nice place and attentive staff, but the food was not worth the money unfortunately.
H. F.
Timeout London recommended the full English breakfast. I was not disappointed. Well worth the money. The coffee was also delicious.
B. N. T.
Had Full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedicts. Good food with great service!
L. H.
Was far better when Keith was still in ownership, Bar was better when Brian ran things.
Truly a sad fall from grace by this once well loved establishment that opened in 2013.
P. D.
Fantastic food and a great team, thrilled to see them back open and buzzing!
R. T.
Super touristy, although the food was good. A bit pricey, but good ambience.
V. S.
Lovely food and excellent service!
L. S.
Food and bar was delicious. Service was also very accommodating.
N. A.
Excellent brunch. Great central location, slightly expensive but you get what you pay for
P. A.
Went just after the the re opening so wasn't sure how it would be. You go in, get your temperature scanned and you are seated if you pass ( I don't know what happens if your temp looks suspicious). We get seated between 2 tables with people on them that don't really look a safe distance. I'm glad we stayed here though because we had the most wonderful waiter. My partner whose birthday was the day before, reall loves the Scrambled Eggs and Cornish Crab however due to the reduction in items available, this was not on the menu but when we asked about it, our waiter went to the kitchen and got them to make it! We had a great meal after that and finished off with a couple of amazing and delicious raspberry souffle. This is a top top place! The food is awesome the staff are amazing. I would I could eat all my meals here!
J. F.
Really fun night out. Great food and atmosphere
A. G. (.
First time London, googled Breakfast and this turned up. Well worth the walk. Took the English Breakfast and it was delicious.
M. M.
Very busy, but great food and drinks and AMAZING service.
The bar is made from solid silver I believe - very cool.
Nice place to have Brunch.
N.
Great service, food is nice. It is very very similar to NY one.
B. V.
It's a nice restaurant, the food is amazing and the staff is so good too. I recommend.
I. M.
Excellent food and superb service. Dressed crab for starter and baked aubergine for main. Oh and the largest profiteroles I have ever seen for dessert :0)
S. A.
Beautiful Christmas decorations and atmosphere made for a relaxing enjoyable meal.
c.
Great food and desserts. Try the tarte tattin and the duck pie
M. C.
My go to spot for breakfast in covent garden. A little pricey but allways good quality ingredients and great service
K. W.
Disappointed but probably result of going first Saturday evening after lockdown 2 finished. Whilst there was a great atmosphere in the main dining area we were seated in a small side room - after waiting 25 minutes for our prebooked table - which was soulless. Food was average and in the end we just wanted to finish up and leave.
On a different night I'm sure it could be great but just didn't work out this time.
M. C.
My wife and I popped into Balthazar for lunch, we had a main only. I had the fish of the day which was excellent and my wife decided on the vegetarian option, again excellent. The venue is first class, old, traditional and beautifully maintained, it is like stepping back in time in a good way, you have the best of both, new trends in a traditional setting. Staff excellent, professional, attentive and able to assist competently with menu and drink choices. Second visit, had breakfast with German friends, which was excellent. Will visit again. If you are in London for a day and you want quality food in a traditional and grand setting, you will not be disappointed.
G. M.
My significant other and I came here for brunch. Needless to say, the service was fantastic. The food was great and was served very quick for having so many people present. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing and had a substantial amount of class. The price was very affordable considering how expensive London is. Definitely a great place for food or for a drink.
R. w.
Very nice place to dine . Fresh and tasty.. would go again
a. S. s.
Lovely restaurant. Atmosphere is very good and relaxed. Service is quick and of high standard. Food is delicious.
V. G.
Great atmosphere very nice cocktails and food
M. Z.
Great food/service and beautiful interior, if a bit expensive.
F. D.
Amazing atmosphere, great food, informed staff and relaxed. Just like its NYC counterpart
L. H.
Amazing food and fantastic service.
S. B.
For me, the quintessential french restaurant in London. Great interior, service and delicious food.
i. d.
The place is always busy so booking is essential. The staff are attentive and friendly. The menu offers a good range of dishes and the food is well presented and of good quality. Portion sizes are perfect for an adult but probably wont fill up the average ravenous teenage boy for too long. Wine list is decent and there are some very good cocktails on offer. The loos have always been clean n well maintained on my visits. If I have any criticism at all it is that tables are very close together so this is not a place for intimate conversation but that really isnt the vibe given off by a bustling bistro style restaurant.
l. a.
The food was good overall, the service wasn’t that good and it affected our overall experience and won’t be going back.
A.
Brilliant cafe with amazing food and customer service! Loved my visit their with my friends.
C. H.
Great Restaurant with great food and excellent Service, highly recommend
E. C.
One of my favorite restaurants EVER, have visited several times! The best food food, great location, good atmosphere, a bit pricey but that's ok, would visit again!
k.
Finaly, i came to this place.
At last I ate delivious onion soup.
Atmosphere is very calm and relaxing.
People trying hard but with confidence, to provide you the best experience possible
J. J.
Beautiful place for brunch that offers the best of American style breakfast with the elegance of London
S. M.
Comes a very close second to The Wolseley. Took 2 of my sons to lunch. The place was packed as always, very competent and friendly waitress. I ordered a strange combination for lunch: French onion soup then a full English breakfast. All of the best taste and quality. The Cumberland sausages were so good, I ordered a second portion. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert.
E. 5.
Fantastic vibe, decor, service and quality of food. Was very impressed end-to-end. The food is probably some of the best we’ve had in a restaurant since moving to London a year ago. Strongly recommend getting a booking in advance, it can be quite busy and noisy with the acoustics; but not severe enough to prevent regular conversation.
A. V. Í.
A nice place to visit. The food was grate and the service also.
A. M.
We came here very briefly for a starter and a glass of champagne. The service was amazing and salmon was impeccable all topped off with some macaroons for my boyfriends birthday. I would really recommend this famous restaurant as it brings special French and delicious cuisine and it is a beautiful place to dine in the heart of Central London.
S. A.
Good food, the almond waffles is great. If I could give 10 starts for the service I would!
F. B.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. If you are in Covent Garden, you need to eat here
E. C.
The food was excellent and the service great, and if I was rating it just on those it would be 5 stars. However it is really noisy and packed, tables crammed in, and on a weekday summer evening, a bit cacophonous. Every dish I tasted was good, but my Octopus Salad starter was superb. Attentive and quick service too.
K. C.
Quite a tasty breakfast or brunch. Had a vegetarian eggs benedict and was very happy. Cute vintage interior and friendly staff.
S. S.
Fantastic ambiance and the staff were super great! Their collaboration with Bobbi brown for afternoon tea was cute but too sweet
E. K.
I personally love the hustle & bustle atmosphere of Balthazar. The waiters are distinguished & knowledgeable, professional waiting service, food is good, decor authentic, inviting & addictive.
Desserts are exceptionally noteworthy particularly during during special days like.
Some important points would be, make sure to book your table in advance, tables tend to be quite close to one another and be prepared for the noise level which is quite high & continuous.
Overall both Balthazar London & New York are great experiences, inviting & consistent.
A. A.
Great food and the overall experience was exquisite, one of the best breakfast places
J. R.
We were on s theatre visit to London and passed Balthazar and liked the look of it. Decided to phone to see if we could book for early evening (night before valentine's Day). They said they were fully booked but if we called in they might have a no show. Do glad we did. Great atmosphere, very good food at a reasonable price for Covent Garden area and staff were professional and attentive. Really glad we went
J. P.
Balthazar is a beautiful restaurant. The very numerous staff do their best to take special care. We were just there for an early lunch with my two year old grandson who has little patience. The staff served him quickly and understood the predicament of eating with a toddler. Unprompted, they served my son a plate of macaroons with Happy Birthday inscribed in chocolate. I recommend this restaurant but it's essential to reserve a table in advance.
A. A.
I have tried thier breakfast. They have different BF options, delicious dishes and the atmosphere is very nice. Staff also are friendly.
T. E.
Really nice French bistro ambiance. The food was great; the service was impeccable...
o.
Food was absolutely delicious, lovely interior and waiters were very helpful
S. C.
My daughters choice for her Birthday meal. We pushed the boat out and had oysters and a steak to die for! The waiters and staff are all very pleasant and attentive. And a great place for a special dinner.

You just can't beat Balthazar's for atmosphere in London, especially at Christmas time. Pictured is the veal escalope with dauphinoise potatoes, pure bliss!

Been at least six times. Amazingly consistent quality, very good coffee, rapid and top notch service. Full English and Eggs Benedict are always awesome. Also, relatively cheap for the location and nice, clean and spacious toilets. Awesome.
A. K.
Exquisite restaurant with a wide varied menu , nothing a problem staff were very attentive.
F. Q.
Visited this establishment for breakfast with my family member. We ordered some lattes, the Eggs Royale and Garlic prawns that come with some delicious potato bread. Excellent quality and taste and a very lovely atmosphere.

French cuisine embodied in not only the menu and restaurant set up, but also in its waitresses.
We reserved a table at Balthazar in celebration of completing a project at work. The meals were worth the reward but the service was some times too feisty, with our beverage choices being questioned if we didn’t want to order the cocktail of the day.
The dessert was amazing and possibly worth 5 stars - I had the soufflé and my colleague had the cheesecake. They were well presented, appropriately sized and delicious.
P. B.
I liked it a lot. It was very busy but we were not cramped, we arrived early and they could not let us have a table, but no problem, not their fault. Staff and service was just about perfect. Food was great, and the menu is really good, plenty of choice and I want to go back to try the other dishes I did not order. I went with a friend and we are both fairly big blokes and big eaters. Starter and main would have been a good feed, we both had a desert and we were full. Cocktail each, both had 3 courses, 1 bottle mid price wine and a glass of desert wine each came to just over £200. which is expensive for me, but it was good value and we left very happy.

Food at Balthazar NYC and London is not impressive but I like the vibes. Reminded me of the traditional NYC Balthazar.
T. F.
Brilliant place to have breakfast or brunch. They take good care of their customers. The waiter was very polite and we got served quickly. The food was very tasty! Make sure to reserve as weekends are packed.
T. C.
Good atmosphere attentive staff and a good range of breakfast choices. The pastry selection seemed stale and was served 5 minutes before the other breakfasts, which wasn't good. I would definitely stick to the cooked options. We tried both the pancakes and waffles and these were very good.
E. C.
Not amazing but good food, good selection of drinks, good service, nice atmosphere (although a little noisy when full)
H. P.
Had dinner here, weekday evening. Excellent atmosphere. Great menu. Really nicely cooked food. Only let down by the poor service, which quite honestly took me by surprise given the quality of the ambience and everything else about this establishment.
It shouldn't take 15+mins to take a drinks order or even place a dessert order continually looking for the waiter.
L. K.
Loved the location and the premises. Lost a star because the toasted bread with the avacado and poached eggs was tough to cut, possibly not toasted enough!
J. M.
Excellent restaurant in the heart of the theater district, no matter if you are looking for breakfast or after dinner drinks with friends, this will suit any occasion. A modern French focus, the dishes are delicious and well priced.
A. C.
Exceptional service!
The atmosphere is great and the food was delicious. Definitely will come again!
m. R.
Fantastic french-american cuisine. The desserts alone are worth a visit. Little pricey but worth it for a fancy night out. Highly recommend if you want to impress somebody. Service and selection are also top tier.

Food is solid good, and services are great!
J. M.
Have been a few time now (and to NY). It's a pretty standard Anglo/American French style bistro. The food is ok but the atmosphere is casual and upbeat. Wouldn't do a romantic meal - but friends or work colleagues for average French food and half decent wine it's good.
A. D.
Exceptional environment and food. I have been for brunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, and all have been superb - food is excellent, atmosphere is great, and staff are friendly and professional. I’ve never felt rushed (even when going for brunch on the last Saturday before Christmas!) and have always thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Can’t wait to go back!
Tip - the waiters will make you any cocktail you want - just ask!
K. K.
Had an excellent avocado toast with poached eggs and salsa. Good, good but pricey pricey! Also try the coffee, it's surprisingly good.
K. G.
Great Parisian music and fantastic Oysters!

One of the best restaurants in London!
The venue is styled like a typical 1950's fancier french restaurant; and it is so beautiful! The food is absolutely amazing, note that it is on the pricier side. The staff is wonderful.
The place is often fully packed, even in the middle of the week, so it is not the place to go for a quiet dinner. However, I cannot recommend this place enough.
N. H.
This place is distinctly ok. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not great. Booking is a pain. I was considerate and advised that my party might be smaller than intended and then it was a total pain in the neck to get the booking amended back upward. So I’d advise you to not tell them if you fall short a guest. The food is fine, but they are very keen to chuck you out after your slot, no matter how much you are spending. In fairness the food is lovely but I would not ever go here again. It’s too stressful.
G. S.
I've given this restaurant four stars, but this needs a little explanation. The building is amazing and the service some of the best in London - you know when they're friendly and attentive but not too 'in ya face'. Food wise, there's absolutely nothing to surprise or excite, but that feels right as its always well prepared and presented. So go here for the vibe and experience - if you can get a table! Also, get along at quiet times for a cocktail. They really are exceptional!
C. P.
This is like an upmarket French-American brasserie. The food is good. I had burrata as a starter and hearty steak and fries for my main. I asked for medium rare and it was on the rarer side of medium rare. Even so, it was tasty. The atmosphere is good and it hits the spot. I went for lunch but I'm sure an evening dinner would be just as nice.
B. N.
I came for the restaurant Arnold Bennett, and specifically to compare it to other offerings around the wonderful capital. Compared to the one in Clarifies foyer this was a slightly less elegant affair. There was more sauce, the mustard flavours were quite strong, and they were less generous with the haddock. However, it was still delicious, and I rather like strong flavours. Compared to £33 at Claridges for one omelette and one drink, this came in relatively cheap at £22! Friendly atmosphere and fast service give this place the edge.
G. M.
Staff, atmosphere, and food are all great. They have an eclectic selection of food, so you'll always find something you'll like!
M. A.
Reliably pleasant experience.
My go-to choice for casual business dinner in Covent Garden.
The menu is unremarkable and a bit pricy.
The hall is not too noisy and I've always been able to book on the day.
J. M.
Such a wonderful surprise to find one of our favorite restaurants in London!
T. B.
Great for late lunch. Very busy around 3.30pm

Good breakfast/brunch and coffee, but not cheap.

Had a great time there, lovely atmosphere

Brilliant food and service. Would highly recommend going

I would of given Balthazar a 4* but the bar staff let this place down I'm afraid.
The restaurant is really nice and I have been here at least 5 times. However, on my last visit we were told to wait at the bar until our booked table was ready. The bar staff were busy but it costs nothing to be nice to your customers. It felt like both me and my friend were a hindrance when I asked to see the menu. As the menu is not easily described as to what wine is dry/sweet I asked if one could be recommended. The bar tender looked at me confused. Before I knew it my menu was taken away without asking and given to another lady before I could order.
We then waited nearly an hour before our food order was taken. Although the food is of good quality for value when operating at high volume this restaurant suffers and lacks attention to detail during these periods. I would recommend either not going at all or visiting during off peaktimes.
T. O. D.
Arrived on Saturday morning the 14th of Sept for brunch which we'd not made a reservation for and they maitre d' & waiting staff were all so accommodating and nice and we got a lovely table. I'd the New York pancakes which were so delicious and my girlfriends both had the avocado & poached egg, again delicious and really well executed. Would 100% recommend for a excellent brunch and fantastic old world setting & vibe.

Just WOW. Amazing food, great atmosphere... The manager, i can't remember his name (but he is from Poland) was amazing, gave us a great experience. We went for my wife's Birthday, we were a party of four... We order appetizers, entrees and desserts, everything was excellent. Thanks you for making g this night special!
J. W.
I went with a group of 4 to Balthazar for my birthday. Post theatre menu, the food was really good. The experience was made 10x better because of our excellent waitress Daniella. Daniella went out of her way to bring us a treat for the birthday and was helpful and a great host throughout. Thanks Daniella, we all love you!
G. Z.
So disappointed. Took friends and booked in advance - we arrived early and seated at the bar, where we were promptly forgotten about. Finally seated, the service was slow and quality of our meals mixed. The restaurant itself is very cold, so bring warm clothes. Was expecting more.
K. F.
Beautiful place & amazing food!
T. P.
Good coffee and profiteroles. Worth a visit if all the usual terrace places full
Z. M.
Great experience. The ambience is fabulous and staff were very friendly. Highly recommended!

I usually only make it up to London once a year to the ROH and I want it to be special, but of course. I've never eaten at Balthazar before. What very very pleasant surprise it was too! So convenient to the ROH and it had the buzz of a good Paris Brasserie. I can highly recommend it!
R.
Just love this place! Great ambiance and really nice breakfast.

Fantastic lunch here yesterday. Felt very cosy and festive with a brilliant atmosphere - exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely return!

Fantastic French brassiere in the heart of London
Extremely Professional and friendly Staff. Great range of Wines(all French), good balanced Menu and authentic ambience.
Best Steak Tartare i had out of Town i had in a long time.
I had no reservation but got a table after 15 minutes.
P.S. they serve amazing Mac & Cheese
A. V.
Positive: really lovely setting. Grand feel.
Negative: Ordered a salmon tartar, which tasted (and probably was) mainly smoked salmon. Now I am not a chef and I realize that there are many ways to prepare a meal, but when I order a tartar I somehow expect raw. Eating smoked salmon instead was a bit like having breakfast with salmon toast. If this is the chefs choice then fine, but I certainly think this should be on the menu, so you know what you get when you order it. I certainly would not have ordered it if I had known that I would be getting smoked salmon. I had a steak tartar as my main and yes it was tasty and raw ! (I was really happy about that).
We did mention that when the bill came, not as a complaint, but as a side note to which the waitress said that she would give this feedback to the manager and went away. A couple of minutes later a gentleman in a suit came over and without saying anything took the card off the table and proceeded with the payment process. This had something comical as absolutely nothing was communicated, so we mentioned our feedback again, to which he responded something along the lines of that he was aware of our feedback and that's the way their kitchen makes the tartar so that would be it, hands us the receipt and walks off. I guess I am not sure what we expecting but somehow it was an awkward situation that just wasn't handled gallantly.
O. N.
I had tried the one in New York, which is probably better. Here at Covent Garden, I was not particularly impressed by the food and I doubt the chef is French, probably Romanian like the waiters. So if you know French food, try somewhere else. The escargots were not prepared properly, the soufflés were so-so, service average. Please London restaurant owners, do not kill our beloved French food.
S. O.
Fantastic venue
Had a great brunch with friends here. The location in Covent Garden is ideal and the venue is in itself full of character. Absolutely essential to book as the food is wonderful and the atmosphere buzzing. My partner had the full English which was certainly full and enough to keep you going for the day... I had a slightly smaller option and that too was really tasty and clearly freshly made. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back on my next trip into London...
M. B.
Pre-theatre (Don Quixote) pop in for dinner, for 4 and this place is worth a 5 Star rating! The service by waiting staff in crisp, white aprons, cleanliness and ambiance was superb. Our meals were made to order, served hot and at the same time and tasted delicious. The presentation was brilliant too. 'Highly recommended.
K. A.
O my goodness the food is out of this world. Well worth the expense.
Make this the spot you visit for a treat or before a covent garden show.
Really helpful with dietary restrictions.
A. B.
Nice classic French bistro, great service, cocktails and wine.
The venue is nice with lots of atmosphere. This place does get very busy, but you can grab a drink wait at the small bar inside.
G. G.
Good food and ambiance, careless service; had to do too much chasing. Cocktails arrived after prompting at the end of the first course. Wine came after asking after the main courses arrived. A side dish didn't show up at all, tried to push two plates of petit fours when we'd asked for one... sigh.
S. C.
Great service. Excellent food and nice range of drinks. Asked advice on menu and didn't regret it. Lovely setting just like a Paris brasserie. Friendly staff. I keep going back. Would recommend if you like French food with a contemporary twist.
I.
Superb brunch spot in covent garden - the berries pancake is delicious, so are chips! Will be back for another round!
A. P.
Best place in town!! Best service ever!!
B. S.
An excellent restaurant, well located and with great service and attention to detail. The food is good with great choices. Will definitely book again.
Only downside is it is noisy and the semi circular banquettes mean that the guests at the end have to shout to be heard by each other. Not sure about the choice of music either which was too loud with a strong beat.
I took a look at their private room upstairs which would be fabulous for a private party sometime.
Also there is a long walk up a long staircase to get to the loos. Not ideal. There is a lift but you have to summon assistance to use it which is a bit embarrassing but would help anyone disabled.
M. B.
Large brasserie with mainly French influences but plenty of choice on the menu. Usually an excellent atmosphere, buzzy and busy. Kids were happy which isn't always the case! Decent value for solid food, service also attentive and good.
A. Y.
Good staff, good food and nice wine! What else? Mus try!!
A. F. V.
Santino and Ani best waiters! Great service, quality food (as ever) and fantastic atmosphere! Thanks a lot! We will be back!!
L. G.
Great location, and exceptional service. We went there for afternoon tea and everything tasted heavenly and was more than enough. The price is reasonable as well. Just one little remark: when serving Sencha and other time sensitive teas, it would be better to bring the tea separately, so people can observe the proper time themselves.
C. G.
Just popped in for a reasonably priced (for London) cocktail. Welcoming staff, glamourous decor, "just right" music level and in safe post-Covid surroundings. Unable to comment on food but busy and seemed popular.
P. C.
Good food, very accommodating service
o. o.
i had a large steak tartare that comes with chips. a bit disappointed with the chips which was overly salty. almost as if someone forgot they put salt on it and put it again.
D. W.
A MAZ ZING! fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, great food!
D. W.
The restaurant certainly looks the part and it's a great location in Covent Garden. Sadly the cooking wasn't brilliant, my garlic prawn starter was lacking in garlic and spice although the prawns were juicy. The duck main was very disappointing, under seasoned and a little over cooked. Service was very friendly and efficient and the prices not outrageous for the area.
M. B.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff in this Paris-like timemachine restaurant. Good meat and loved the fruit du mer. After a day of sightseeing and shopping this was the perfect place to end the day with my two teenage daughters. The loved it too!
B. D.
We went here for brunch and had a great time!
Service: good, everything was prompt and we did not fee rushed. We always had our drinks filled and plenty of water on the table.
Ambiance: open and spacious with a French classic/art deco feel. The restaurant was very busy but not so loud you could not have a conversation which was nice.
Food: French/American food is the best way to describe it. Lots of options but we went for the macaroni and cheese with bacon and the avacado toast. Both were good portions and tasty but not amazing.
Overall: would happily go back here again although it's a bit on the pricey side and reservations are a must.

Balthazar
I had a Christmas meet up with my mate, here for brunch. It had a jazzy type setting and a feel of 1950s New York and Paris to it. It was bustling and overflowing with humans. and the cocktails, pure art. It’s a lovely colorful brasserie popular for brunches and lunches with a typical French menu. I had the eggs royale which was fantastic with a special cocktail which wasn’t listed on the menu. So sorry, I never got the name as it was too noisy to hear the waiters. But ask for the waiter’s recommendation. We had creme brûlée’s for desert. It was creamy with a little shortbread biscuit to go with it.

Good quality food for reasonable price

As you walk in, the decor reminds you of a traditional french bistro. The menu is very english with the odd french word. The short rib of beef comes with mustard & horseradish puree, not realising that this was a portion of mashed potato rather than a condiment. We were very disapointed when the waiter told us that the beef wellington takes an hour to make, this fact should be on the menu. The service was very good, our wine and water were kept topped up. The beetroot salad, the lobster spaghetti and the veal t-bone were lacking. The deserts were nice and different to the norm. I will not be rushing back to this restaurant, for the price London has more to offer.
A. K.
Fab ambience, food and drinks. Bloody Mary exceptional, arrived with a rasher of bacon attached to it...amazing!!
A. M.
Beautiful food and wonderful ambiance that evokes French brasseries. The manager has good banter. The interior is a very warm yellow with high ceilings. The restaurant id goof for many purposes including a business lunch or special occasion dinner. The private hire room upstairs feels exclusive.
D. N.
The atmosphere is really nice. Nothing special about the food, I would say it is quite overpriced and it looks and tastes mediocre. If you go to Baltazar just to spend time nicely and relaxing then you are in the right place, but if you want to taste some good French cuisine, better find something different. It was my second time here, don't think I will go again. There are plenty of places with nice atmosphere in London which can offer better quality of food.

Went for a few drinks at the American Bar during a residency by Saxon + Poole, great drinks, excellent service and it didn’t break the bank (okay, it may have done a number on the door). Drinks were expertly mixed, the location was fantastic and there was no hint of a rush, the only reason why we left was that we had a dinner reservation we had to make. Great conversation with the bartender and we were definitely happy with what was on the menu, and additionally what he made as a dealers choice. The bar is well stocked and has several bottles of Pappy Van Winkle, something almost unheard of!
A. K.
People talk very highly about this place, and I'm struggling to understand why. I ate here a few times, and found it to be mediocre in terms of both food and service... Service is slow and abrupt: you wait quite a bit for the food, and when the staff arrive, it's as if they're in a rush to get your order in microseconds and move on. I feel like it has decent demand, but mostly from one-time visitors, which means the staff don't really care about customers other than working through the orders as quickly as they can.
Food is ok. I can make better steak and fries at home.
L. T.
Really nice service and delicious food!!!
R. V.
The Charlie Chaplin cocktail with damson and sloe gin was actually the highlight.
We went specifically for Thanksgiving turkey, which was served as part of a set 3 course menu for £55.
First course was a raw kale salad which nobody could really eat apart from me
The turkey itself was fine, although the common mistake of making the white meat too dry was made for some.
The desert options unfortunately didn't include pumpkin pie. Instead pumpkin cheesecake, which contained barely a hint of pumpkin as far as I could tell. Or pecan pie which, even for a sweet-tooth such as myself, was overly sweet.
The American wine pairing (£35 supplement) had a rather sweet white with the starter (anything to help the kale go down!) a decent red with the main (couldn't have been as dry as the turkey), and a surprisingly decent dessert wine.
All in all, good service considering the mad rush, excellent cocktails, good wine and average food for a good whack above market rate.
D. T.
Loved every delectable bite! Fish pie has delicate flavors that combine well with a side of green beans.... the raspberry dessert melted in my mouth and left me completely with a happy tummy. Staff competent, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, room temperature ideal.

Excellent dinner pre theatre
F. F.
Great wait staff and a surprisingly amazing selection of American whiskeys. I’ve been to the NY location many times and this one is very similar. Was recommended by a whiskey nut to visit and was not disappointed. Some fair prices for bourbons but some were outrageous. Tried a lot of stuff that’s hard to find even in the States.
J. M.
Stopped by to sample some treats from the newly opened Balthazar bakery this afternoon. Stunning presentation of sandwiches, salads and sweet things and a range of breads available as well. Food was exceptional - especially the puff pastry tart and the aubergine salad. Friendly and happy staff and treats to try before you buy. Only miss was the coffee which was reasonable but not great. Will definitely be stopping by again and looking forward to checking out the restaurant.
A. S.
One of my favorite restaurants in London. Been there for 5th or 6th time already, and it never disappointed me. Tried their spaghetti with lobster this time, which was really nice. Also, apparently if you dine alone, you get a nice surprise on the house. Service was excellent, as usual. Be prepared to spend around 40EU per person, including alcohol.
M. H.
Amazing steak and great service!
Z. H.
Food: Great. Everything was solid from the chicken liver parfait, to the duck shepperds pie, to the snails. Everything was just solid.
Service: Very friendly. The waiter was a very jovial chap who had good banter without feeling like he was intruding on the meal.
Ambience: Elegant but still vibrant and not at all dusty.
Price: Not cheap!
Worth a visit: A very good option for brunch if you want to impress the other party.
M. S.
Went for breakfast with a friend and my one year old daughter and would have to say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Definitely the best I've had with my daughter. The service was fantastic, the staff were so friendly, understanding and happy to accommodate us. The food was delicious and was the right price.
I can not recommend it highly enough.
M. L.
Fantastic restaurant. Been several times now. Brunch/Lunch/Dinner. The staff are super friendly and never say no to a request. While the restaurant is very open it doesn't get loud enough stop you hearing someone across the table clearly. The food has been excellent ever time and the prices are very reasonable.
J. P.
A beautiful setting but doesn't succeed in emulating the magic of it's New York sibling. We went for breakfast so it may be more ambient at night. The food was great although very rich, however you can get an arguably better breakfast for less in London. A good choice as a treat or smoozy business meeting when it comes to breakfast. The staff were great (they charged my phone for me!) and I can't fault the service.
E. T.
The atmosphere is nice but felt the food selection was mediocre. I was at a table of 5 but we all struggled to find something we wanted to eat. In the end, I settled for the duck shepherd's pie, which was tasty but the flavour was a bit overpowering. I was also unimpressed by the staff. Despite it being Christmas time, they seemed miserable. This was my second time here but I probably won't go back.
A. P.
Lovely cafe with a great athmosphere. The staff was very nice and attentive and we had a wonderful time. The food was great, if not as amazing as we expect for the prices. The pasties were not fresh. That said for a cafe right next to Covent garden with such a nice athmosphere and great staff we would still recommend it as a lovely breakfast / brunch location.
K. L.
fabulous place - good food - wonderful service from Miguel who looked after us so well
R. B.
Very nice atmosphere and great food. Beware of the fish though as had the sea bass and the bones are still in it which for me and my friends that had the same meal was a bit annoying. Great service as well.
N. M.
A "Café de París" type of restaurant, with an Golden years-kind of atmosphere big, noisy and stylish. I often meet with my French friend for stake and fries or mussels or fish . Desserts are very good, my favourite tart tatin. Great for a celebration or just dinner after/before the theatre (the Drury Lane is nextdoor). Whatever your excuse, this restaurant is a nice experience you should not miss! ££(£)
O. K.
Disappointed by the tartar and shrimps cocktail - seafood is not fresh and fish is salty. One of worst tartars that is impossible to eat without mayo or lemon. They have a good selection of wines and veggies were good. Service was nice.
M. D.
Lovely spot, it's even nicer if you're sat at the back where it's a bit less hectic! Mussels with fries and lobster spaghetti were both delicious. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
D. R.
We chose Balthazar because it is very near to the Royal Opera House. We were not in any way disappointed. We had duck confit and fish pie and both were delicious. The fish pie was the best I've ever eaten and I told them so! Service was very friendly and excellent. They didn't hurry us and we got to the ballet with time to spare. Thoroughly excellent.
R. C.
Sunday brunch was had. It was OK. Went for scrambled eggs and crab, but I make better eggs at home which was a shame. Service good, nice atmosphere. Pastries looked good as did some of the other things on the menu. I'd probably go back, just try something else.
C. W.
Great spot for a working breakfast. We had coffee and croissants which came warmed with a lovely array of jams and butter. Delicious! Lovely service, never felt rushed.
