Decent steak that’s good value for money. Service is slow considering there aren’t very many people in the restaurant and our bill took forever! Red wine sauce was tasty. Chips were hard despite being cooked more than once.

Breakfast isn’t their strong suit. We stayed at the Premier Inn hotel. You have to purchase your breakfast from the hotel before eating. You can get a full breakfast for 10.50 or continental for 8.50. Once we went over they told us they didn’t have any coffee. Ugh! I consider that a staple for breakfast but they had not told the hotel. The food was average and overpriced . If you just want the continental, I suggest walking to Sainsbury. We have not eaten dinner . This breakfast has not deterred me from trying dinner at some point. Just go look at their food before you pay at the hotel.

The Sunday lunch was just OK. The beef was nice and rare but they had no horseradish, the gravy was thin with very little taste! The cauli cheese was just cauliflower in a wet roux that again lacked flavour. Service was a bit chaotic despite attempts of barman in charge to try and fix it.

Went here on New Years eve. Steak was good although recommend ordering above 8oz as was tiny. Chips were undercooked along with veg tasted bland could of done with more seasoning. My other half had the grilled chicken but didn't eat most of it due to it being really over cooked and dry.

What's not to like? We had an item from the lunch menu of a simple steak and chips with red wine. Very tasty for us in a restaurant that was fairly quiet at the time. Restaurant has a few outdoor tables but the traffic and noise put me off, so we chose to sit inside. Serving guys were friendly and attentive.

Clean and comfortable place. Service is quick and good quality food. They ran out of draught ale once, but that seems pretty standard everywhere these days. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. Gets busy in the evenings at the weekends, but during the week it's often quiet and a good place just to chill, have a drink, eat and chat.

Our waiter was called Riccardo (I think- medium height and build, dark hair, was wearing all black). He was absolutely sensational! So attentive and the epitome of excellent customer service! He made mine and my partner's dining experience very enjoyable. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce that came with it was delicious. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Brownie and Meringue Kisses and it was just a silent in-awe moment of these gorgeous desserts.Very great night! Many Thanks

This a lovely evening at a trendy chain of restaurants by Premier Inn. The food was lovely and well presented. We tried a starter, two beef dishes and a pair of desserts (we were hungry!) All were cooked to perfection except the apple crumble which didn't have a toasted topping. The Gin-Prosecco were nice but not special. Our waiter was very nice but when he was busy serving another table no-one covered for him. I assume it's early days as the restaurant just opened.

Good customer service. We had the steak and lobster tail with dessert. The lobster we reported it was cold and they were able to reheat it which was fine. Dessert was churros and ice cream, very filling and great.

Service at lunchtime was quite slow, but staff friendly, steaks very tasty and tender, chips OK, reasonable drinks selection. Tables were clean and the inside looked new and quite impressive. An included vegetable side would be a healthy improvement for their steak dishes as the samphire garnish was little more than a pinch.

I decided to take my husband to Bar + Block to celebrate his birthday. The staff went above and beyond and were extremely helpful and full of smiles. They set up table decorations, wrote a lovely message in a card for my husband, and performed a great Happy Birthday rendition. Siobhan was friendly and looked after us fantastically the whole night. First time trying this place food was good but it says on menu that the steak comes with chunky chips which I was looking forward to but when it arrived I had 🍟 and when questioned was told unless you ask for fat chips you get fries🍟 please change your menu to state this but would recommend

Staff were very welcoming as you walk in the door. We had a meal with family but we hadn't booked and the staff were really accommodating, friendly and funny, more than helpful when it came to ordering food. Firstly the front of house was professional, waiter good and personable. The Jamaican chef that brought the food was hilarious, super professional, courteous and extremely kind. The main reason why I’m leaving this 5 star review is because of the kitchen staff that accommodated my partner and I’s request and provided such a positive experience. Whilst known for their steakhouse offering, I personally love the breakfasts served here and find the people working there really friendly and helpful. Whether you're a guest at the adjoining Premier Inn, or simply passing by, the bar and block puts on a great buffet-style full English breakfast that's well worth a visit.

Celebrating a bday with my partner ,we had a succulent steak cooked to our preference point with all the delicious side dishes.The facility was very clean and the covid rules followed. We felt safe. Strongly recommended for couples or family reunion . The general manager Ricardo Golin and his staff were very attentive.

We went on one of the Eat Out To Help evenings and were very glad to have booked. Despite booking, it was exceptionally busy and we had to wait for 10 or so minutes. This was annoying, but the staff were friendly and apologetic so I can’t knock them for it. Once we were seated, we were served quickly and attentively by Siobhan. She was lovely and took great care of us both. Our food was delightful. We both had the steak platter. It would’ve been nice to have had a little sign to let us know which steak was which! Other than that, we thought it was excellent and great value for money. It was 50% off the whole bill (exc. alcohol) so a real bargain.

Me and my friend went for dinner without reservation. Connor was very friendly and welcoming by the entrance and he gave us a nice table. My wife and I stayed at the Wimbledon Broadway Premier Inn, to which the Bar and Block is attached, on 9th and 10th June. We used the restaurant on one evening and both mornings and we were very impressed with all aspects. The premises were spotlessly clean, social distancing measures were in place, the staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. The English breakfast was perfect and our evening meals were faultless. Thank you to everyone at the Bar and Block. We will be back on our next visit to Wimbledon.

Really nice stylish place. However, the steak was just good, peppercorn sauce taste like cheap gravy. Due to Eat Out scheme we paid around £30 as everything was 50% even though it should be just £10 off per person. It means normally the cost to eat there is £60 for two person!! not worth it!. much better steak you can eat in Buenos Aries, for the same money!

Dined here on a Thursday night early evening. Had cocktails in the bar first which are half price between 5 and 7pm. Drinks were very nice and the bar staff were super keen and friendly. The venue is modern and looks good. They had a 2 4 1 steak offer in the restaurant so we had starters followed by fillet steaks. Its a new venue and staff are very helpful and eager to please. Overall a positive 4* review and a really pleasant dinner, just minor let downs. Our starters arrived before our drinks, we ordered both steaks medium rare but they arrived what I would describe as blue (but still eaten, still quality steak) and we got fat chips instead of the requested fries. And as soon as the starter plates were taken, the mains arrived (I like a few minutes break). Would visit again, a do recommend the venue.

This is a new restaurant that has opened and we booked a large table to sample the new offering in the neighborhood. Service is normally the most important factor for me when rating a place that I have eaten. And it has affected the score I was planning to give. It was slow. Painfully. I received the wrong steak, and was almost expected to accept it. A little while later my order finally appeared. However, the food was so tasty and satisfying I would be tempted to go back again. Drinks offering are plentiful and we managed two bottles of red. Menu had a good range of choice. Hopefully on our next visit the team have managed to workout the new service kinks and my rating may move to 5 🌟. They did try their best, but as it is brand new it may be a little while before service moves forward.

Mixed review about this restaurant. The staff at breakfast were great, full of smiles and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great too! The evening staff we found were a bit short with us. We also were told to get a drink at the bar and wait in the bar area until our table was ready - there was really no need for this as the restaurant was pretty empty and all the tables were already set??! Sneaky way to get customers to purchase an extra drink... pity because the food is really good!

Service was attentive and staff friendly, we arrived early with our young baby and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. We ordered steaks (one a surf and turf) which were of good quality but very much on the rare side, so be mindful when ordering. The side portion of chips was very small and the salad that they claimed came with it was non existent! We enjoyed 241 voucher on main meals which made it good value. However at full price it would have been way too expensive for the food we had. There are far better options in Wimbledon for the full prices they charge, especially as it’s essentially inside a budget hotel.

Today I went to the amazing @barandblockwimbledon✨My family and I were seated at a very spacious table and welcomed by the wonderful Ricardo (who was so charming by the way) 😊. He managed to sell my family just about everything on the menu 😂. They had 50% off EVERYTHING and even without the £10 cap! My parents and I shared a 30oz Sirloin steak 😱It was juicy, flavoursome and definitely filling. It came with a side of beef dripping triple cooked chunky chips 🤤 and I had the peppercorn sauce (which I never usually like, but I loved this one). The chefs did an amazing job and even stopped to bring over some of our food themselves at one point🥳. All the staff are wonderful, funny and kind! We will definitely be coming back in the future to enjoy the cocktails and steak again 🥰 (Please note, alcoholic drinks are not half price but they are very affordable with most standard cocktails such as mojitos and daiquiris at £7.99). Well done Bar+Block! ☀️

1. Excellent Covid-Secure measures. All staff and chef's wearing face coverings. Plastic Dividers at the checkin and between each table. Tables were also kept apart and seating at every other table to create lots of space. They also sit people as spread out throughout the restaurant as possible. One way systems and hand sanitiser available in several locations. 2. Our waitress, Siobhan, was incredible. She was the only one working on Friday night, which we put down to Covid measures and just less need for staff. She had the lay of the land down, she was kind and calm, and very helpful. 3. Managers were really, really accommodating with my father-in-law who is a diabetic. So that was incredibly appreciated. 4. We were there celebrating and they really helped to make it feel special for us. 5. There was a slight issue with our meals, but the staff immediately apologised and brought us back perfectly improved dishes and it was so tasty. We really enjoyed our night here. I think this is possibly a forgotten spot in Wimbledon since it's near the end of the town and maybe some people overlook it since it is attached to a hotel, but it's really a very lovely place with SUPER kind staff members who are very accommodating. We will be back!

Siobhan was a great waitress. She asked if I was staying in the Premier Inn upstairs and when I told her I was staying there for the week, she told me what additional deals they had on for the hotel customers. I went there 3 times within the week and every time, my rib eye steak was cooked 'rare' to perfection. The crumble dessert was also the best I've tasted anywhere. All staff were friendly and attentive whilst still not hasling you. I would definitely recommend.

First time visiting and was really excited to see what they had to offer. Firstly I want to say that the food was really good, having a nice choice of starters mains and deserts (pulled pork tacos were excellent) and the steaks were well cooked and succulent. Service was unfortunately very lacking when we visited, several items from the menu were out but made they no effort to tell us when we sat down, only informing us when we actually started ordering. Further to this, our starters arrived out before our drinks (we had to remind) and mains arrived haphazardly, before our starters had been cleared from the table. Overall the food was excellent, however the service really ruined the experience - we think this is partly because they are understaffed and partly down to their experience (they were very friendly). We also overheard one member of staff complaining about the hours / days she has worked and another member of staff telling her to “stop complaining”. Would consider going back in the future as the food was good, but only if the service seriously improves!

Really solid food: everything I ate was spot on for how it was cooked and tasted. Service can be a bit slow if they're very busy or very quiet (staff tend to disappear when it's quiet). Staff all friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. Will definitely visit again and try more of their lunch for under a tenner including drink, served in under 10 minutes. Tried their steak and frites on that and was great for a quick lunch. The evening menu takes longer but was still excellent. Was happy eating there alone when on business.

Living across the road from this restaurant, I’ve been here three times. It’s distinctly average. The food is ok - steak is decent, fries are good, small portions for the price, but that’s what you get with steak. Where this place really falls down is the service. There are definitely friendly, attentive staff, but it’s a gamble if you get them or one of the more rude or disinterested servers. Not worth the gamble in my opinion, and I doubt this will be improved while there’s a steady stream of customers from the hotel upstairs.

We booked a table for 4, arrived with a much larger group, didn't faze them... Emrah was our waiter, and he couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. From swapping things in and out of orders, to putting up with our banter, he was a good sport and a very smily chap. The food was delicious, we had a couple of steak eaters that always complain that they never get the rare or medium rare they ask for and they were really happy with the way their meat was cooked. I had a very tasty mixed grill, my steak was a little over done but was so soft I didn't mind. Then a lot of other pals turned up just for drinks.... still not a problem... lovely dinner in a restaurant with a great atmosphere. I'm totally going back. Me and my boyfriend went there yesterday! We spend about £83 and is second time we was dining there.First visit was was very satiated. We was served by young black skin waitress, very good service she explained us everything and she make sure we was happy we was happy with food too.Me and my boyfriend are very local so we decided to visit again and then we was little disappointed. We was served by waiter Emre he was polite and very professional however food was very disappointing. I ordered lamb and get very ill I'm in doors all day today quite frankly on toilet. I felt is something wrong with lamb but nobody from service come to check if the food was ok and I'm not a person who make fuzz about things or send food back. Anyway I will never order lamb there again..in there my boyfriend ordered stake £21 he said is not worth the price. Atmosphere is good in there. Service is friendly. Just food is main problem

Amazing restaurant, the food was really good and not very expensive at all. I'm always sceptical about steak places as I am quite particular, however they cooked my steak perfectly and I know the rest of the family loved the seafood option. I returned a few weeks later for a late lunch with my cousin and discovered that they are actually open from 6:00 in the morning, and provide a breakfast and lunch/brunch menu which looked amazing . They also have something called the Express menu is a flat steak that comes with fries and a drink all for £10😳 again wasnt expecting much for a tenner but again meal was amazing and only cosy a tenner. Have told so many people about this place will definitely be going back and definitely want to try that breakfast and brunch menu. Thanks bar and block, see you again soon.

I went to Bar and Block (Wimbledon) with a friend of mine about a month ago and even though there were a few hiccups with my steak (which is to be expected with a new restaurant) they did absolutely everything to remedy it on the night and I was served a delicious steak at the end of it all.
