I ordered a falafel with added babaganoush. I wanted to to compare it with the Jerusalem Falafel down the street (with the huge lunchtime lines) so was eating them side by side to compare bite for bite. The falafels themselves were crunchy (on the outside) and big and tasty, but the arrangement in the pita bread meant that the rest of the ingredients were spread out unevenly so that each of the first 6-7 bites tasted completely different. The first few bites were tasting almost purely of the fried haloumi and super salty neon pink pickled veg (radish?) and salty pickled peppers with a smidgen of babaganoush. The next few bites got into the falafels which then overtook everything for the next few bites with bits of mushy tomato and limp cucumber. The falafels were so thick that the centers were also a bit mushy. The cabbage was a bit thick and leathery and I didn't want to finish it as by the time I got to the last third, the pita was starting to melt and it was becoming a complete mushy mess. It may have been partially my fault for eating it so slowly along with another falafel, but either way I didn't want to finish it. It's decent, but I don't think I'll be ordering another one.

As a falafel lover and a regular consumer of falafel sandwiches, I found this experience to be second to none.
Firstly, the falafel had a crunchy golden layer on the outside decorated with sesame seeds and pregnant with soft fluffy bursts of heavenly flavour, leaving a herb like essence at the end of each bite.
Secondly, the fact the falafel is created with fava beans rather than chick peas, makes this more unique to the many other falafels I have eaten before, which tend to use the latter ingredient. The fava beans really brings a lot of flavour and textural balance to the falafel experience, giving a more mouth watering reaction to the bean, as apposed to the more dryness that chick pea version usually elicits.
Lastly, the concoction of the colourful salad and pickles complements the sandwich as a complete experience, given an extra savoury salty addition to the sandwich whilst providing a splash of hydration coming from the tomatoes and home made sauces.
All in all, this was a great experience and will definitely be coming back for more.

I highly recommend the Wowshee experience and their Falafel in particular. As someone who comes from a family of Chefs and who has eaten Falafel in many countries in the Middle East, the team at Wowshees offer customers a truly unique experience. While the box is tantalising delicious and great value for money, given that everything is fresh and prepared with with a lot of care, the Falafel stands out (I would be so bold as to claim in the UK) for a number of reasons. I couldn't believe what I tasted when I first tried it for lunch this week. After talking with the owner, who is a lovely and sophisticated chap with a great story and who took time out to answer my questions and ensure that I was happy- I was even more impressed. Wowshees, as much as I know, is the only place in the UK that makes fresh fava bean falafel, whereas nearly all other Falafel's in the UK use chickpea. The difference is obvious: Wowshee's falafel is scrumptiously crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The taste is different too: Wowshees use unique herbs and spices that gives the Falafel umami-like taste, which is very moorish. It somehow avoids the dryness and blandness of most Falafel's. Notice how most Falafels are served with lots of salad in a wrap? This is a big no in the Middle East and places like Egypt (the mecca of falfel, known as T'amya), where the sandwich is served in a pita with no salads, except for pickle, maybe a tomato and tahini sauce. Wowshee is clearly and deliberately kept things authentic, while also innovating. I also tried the Scotch Falafel- again, wow-sheeee! Never seen or tasted this before. And they've done it to perfection: the egg ozzed with goodness and gracefully complementing the taste of the Falafel. What's interesting is the attention to detail in everything: the choice of bread, the unique and frankly world shattering Falafels- both plain and Scotch- the colour, bite and smell of the glorious pickles, the texture and color of the halumi..........I wasn't therefore surprised to learn that the owner, Ahmed was a 5* Chef, a Westminster Kingsway graduate and winner of the best Falafel aware in 2019 in Malamo Sweden! Having lived in a household of Chefs, I immediately picked up the skills and passion charaterising the Wowshee experience....having been back a couple of times, I was also impressed by the lovely warm staff, the consistency of the food and passion Wowshee gives to Falafel. It's unusual that this place hasn't got even more attention, given that Wowshee has deliberately avoided the run-of-the-mill Chickpea Falafel in a Wrap hidden in layers of lettuce and salad. If you're looking for a diamond in the rough and noisy bustle of Soho Streets, and want to feel enchanted, even for a few minutes, than you can't do much better, than paying Wowshee a visit. If you're a foody and enjoy different experiences, attention to detail and wonderful food, give this unqiue and novel Falafel a go- Wowshees will definitely become huge one day!

Wowshee falafels are made of fava beans not chickpeas therefore they are more moisture and crunchy as well. I like the way the freshly prepared fried veggies presentation so you could pick and choose what you would like to add in your sandwich or mezze box.
They are delicious and inexpensive. I have been to Egypt so many times and this is a very authentic choice.
I will definitely visit Wowshee again when I go pass by one day.

Delicious and very vegan friendly just remember to let them know you’re vegan when they are making your lunch. So delish I come here often when I’m local at work and you get A LOT for your money !! Especially compared to food on the high st and it’s made fresh. Perfect ! Don’t bother with Pret or Leon. Support small businesses :)

Super duper tasty falafels, scotch falafel egg was a fun innovation. Quite a lot of juice from the cabbage meant the mezze plate turned into purple chaos quite quickly.

Super tasty falafel and the scotch egg especially delicious. Free crisps and can of drink made a really good deal very good value for money. All in all very good deal with highly recommend to anyone around the area!

Lovely people, falafels are tasty and light, not dry as often you find in other places. Plus, we got a free drink and crisps to eat while queueing. Highly recommended!

No other Falafel place in-town can compare to what I had here. The best REAL FALAFELS I've tasted since my travels in the middle-east. The passion and craftsmanship shows through in the making of the tameya/falafels with the authentic flavourS of Egypt. Many restaurants blend their palate to suit the western market but Wowshee delivers the real experience. This is the second place in London that I believe will let you experience part of genuine Egyptian/ middle-eastern home food. I've added this to my nostalgia list (Now I have Lebanese & Egyptian, Wowshee filling in that spot) - the Beetroot Tahini and cauliflower are also a must try.
I highly recommend. Hygiene is cared for, and waiting in queues is not long like the other stands with a slower service. The team is efficient and will spice up a nice conversation w some food facts. Smiles all round even in the rain.

This is the home of the tameya or Egyptian falafel. These vegan patties with a dash of tahini are so delicious it’s enough to make meat eaters weep! The friendliness from this food stall is also noteworthy. #tameya #falafel #vegetarian #vegan #streetfood
