All right, it’s been a little while since I last posted but this is the first time I’d ever tried fried chicken and waffle. Now, Bird seems to have some mixed, yet largely positive, reviews on google and one of my friends insisted we check it out. Unsurprisingly, we went for the fried chicken and waffle with maple syrup and Nashville hot sauces. As usual, we opted for a burger, with the chilli cheese (minus the chillis) being the one of choice. I also fancied some fried chicken tenders following an episode of Mark Weins (big up the og). I went for the tenders first and they were terrible, frankly. The coating was soft and the meat was suffocatingly dry - as if they chucked them in the microwave for reheating. The fried chicken and waffle was much better, however, with the coating crispy and meat succulent. The waffles were soft with a hint of crisp around the coating; not too sweet and certainly fluffy. The fried chicken could’ve done with something absorbing the excess oil, though. Lastly, the burger was quite pleasant - the charcoal bun was an interesting look and had a nice fluffy texture inside, with the fried thigh being both juicy and crispy. The balance of the condiments was appropriate. The staff were friendly and helpful; the place was quiet so it was nice to essentially relax without excessive noise. It’s covid friendly, which is a plus, because the interior design adds to the experience. If I fancy fried chicken and waffle again, I’ll likely look to explore alternative options for a first time visit. If you’re around Camden, you’re welcome to check out google reviews. I value freshness, so I don’t think I’ll be returning. 5/10.

Decent chicken, good flavour sauces, but waffles are a bit anemic and lacked flavour. If you're nearby and you want chicken it's worth a shout, however, if you're willing to travel I think chick n' sours is better.

Bird (Chicken) – Camden, London (Eat Out To Help Out). HALAL STATUS: Fully Halal chicken (prepped & cooked separately) • Gravy and Nashville Hot sauce not Halal • Pork served • Alcohol served. With separate doors for entry and exit, Bird's Covid protocols appear straightforward and quite practical. As with all procedures, however, their worth can only ever be gauged when put under strain. Our arrival in the relative calm of late evening wouldn't, therefore, be a true test of things. Nevertheless, the place is spacious enough to realistically allow for social distancing to be maintained. Renowned, of course, for their fried chicken, the stand out dish for us was their unique Chicken & Waffle burger, which easily stood out from the total of four burgers tried on the day. In general, their fried chicken was well cooked, turning out moist on the inside and crunchy rather than crispy on the out, and being a tad oily too on occasions. What's more, those burgers, whose sauce was relatively mild to begin with, such as the Royale, failed to adequately mask the monotony of flavour delivered by what was otherwise a lightly seasoned batter and no more. Perhaps adding some spice to the batter, or at least offering this as an option, might be an idea for the more subtly flavoured sandwiches. On the whole though, Bird impressed with their ambition and menu. You can understand why they boast half-a-dozen locations across London.

I think the best is their avocado chicken burger, and my friend really like their fries. Not really a fan of their slushee, too sweet and not flavorful enough. The chicken wings are nice, better than the chicken legs. Not too sure if we enjoyed the waffles, bit dry to my taste. Overall it’s a good place for food, good vibes, some of the food is great, some a bit disappointing.

Had the Classic Bird chicken burger (w/bacon) and the Korean Fries. The chicken burger was made with thigh meat where most other chicken burgers use breast meat. The combo of mayo and iceberg lettuce gave it that classic chicken burger taste but this was tender and not dry and a generous sized burger too , very nice. The fries came in a largish dish with plenty of Korean bbq sauce with mayo and garnish. Again a generous sized portion and almost a light lunch in itself. Good informal service, mixed WC facilities.

I like a Bird burger, good food, reasonably priced. I'm a bit mixed on the venue itself, tries to hard to be hipster, chairs aren't the most comfortable, nowhere to stick a jacket (fine in summer but what to do in winter?), toilets are okay for a pub but this isn't a pub. It was about 2/3 full when we were there and the staff tried their best but service wasn't great. Food was good, the waffle burger had plenty of syrup on the bottom but none on the top - needs more on top so it can soak through, otherwise it's just too dry. Had a shake, it was good, very rich, lots of flavour. As for the neighbourhood, I was offered drugs on the walk from the station to the restaurant, it was later in the evening, and I never felt in danger, but I didn't really feel comfortable either. So, good food, okay restaurant, average service, great area during the day but a bit iffy in the evening.

This was the first time my friends and I tried out a 'Chicken and Waffle' place so we weren't 100% sure what to expect but damn it is a little pricey; so if you're looking for something budget friendly, this is not it. I believe we ordered the Cheesy Korea Fries, Bacon & Cheese Burger, Spicy Chicken Wrap and the Caribbean Chicken & Waffles with Cherry Slush (Off-Menu Special). The chicken in the wrap was superb. The burger was also good but the chicken in the burger and waffles combo was cold on the outside but hot on the inside. It was definitely interesting. Not sure it is something for me. Will need to maybe try it one more time but perhaps something else on the menu. I'm not upset at the quality of the food, just the price and quantity of it. The fries really should have been a larger portion. There were light water marks on the utensils but the restaurant was clean. Among the condiments on the table there were even wet wipes which was a nice surprise. Was a little let down by how long we had to wait to get the cheque after we finished eating as it was not busy at all. Bottom line is, if you want to try it and got the cash then go for it, it should be an enjoyable experience especially if you have someone to eat with! If you're looking for a quick cheap bite then this is not it. Update: 27th December 2019 Unfortunately the marks on the utensils and places were still there. Very light marks, some finger print marks. It just needs a wipe down. Also noticed dust gathering on top of the 'Bird' lighting fixture on the back and the price is still relevantly high compared to the surrounding. Those were the things I mentioned previously in my review and have not changed by the looks of it. But I have increased the rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. Why? My girlfriend for the Nashville Hot, I had the Royale and we shared a side of 'Proper Canadian Poutine'. The food, though pricey for what it is, was amazingly good. Same quality as before. I can't take anything away from that. That's why they received 3 stars last time and almost received the same rating again. So why did I increase it to 4 stars? It's simple. The service. It was a relatively busy period in the restaurant and we had ordered the desert special, Peanut Butter Pie. Just once slice to share. A little over 15 minutes had passed but we had not received anything. This is when the service approached us and apologised as he had forgotten to put our order in and within a few minutes bought as 2 slices of Peanut Butter Pie and said they were on the house and apologised for the delay. I wish I could remember his name coz that guy is a credit to 'Bird' if not the food industry. It's very, very rare for someone to show this level of service and he alone is why I have to increase the rating from 3 to 4 stars. I had to think a while about this, because it felt like I was 'being bought' with pie... But let's be honest. It was really good pie lol I think I will be back for one final review in a few months. Please clean the surrounding area and wipe down the utensils and plates. If possible at all, offer some sort of discount or something different coz for the average joe, it's a little pricey for the portion size. But most importantly. Keep that server as he is gold.

Fantastic chicken restaurant. Specialises in chicken thigh. Had the pink waffles and chicken meal. Wow. Its £14 but is absolutely huge. The fries you get seperate but again huge portion. I doubt you can eat it all. I also doubt you will leave hungry. Quick and very friendly service. Would absolutely go again. Just the right venue for a meal before going on to see the mighty Frank Turner at the Roundhouse. If you like American style dinners and of course chicken you'll love this place.

Location excellent , few spots to park right outside, venue clean creative and live , Service ???? Doesn’t meet expectations , as you do when you visit new places you ask what’s recommended , was responded by a silly ‘chicken’ and ‘don’t ask me I hate chicken’ Menu and food however is great really enjoyed halloumi and the mains which had 2 pieces some waffles ect that was gooooooood , avoid the mac and cheese !! Also one main point that was shocking, first time we thought to withdraw from the’ optional service charge‘ and we was asked why and all this huffing and puffing . Oh my god this place is awesome. Just randomly walking around Camden n we got hungry. Found this place. Love the decor, the seating, the colourful menus. The waiter was so kind n placid. Was just him serving but he did awesome. Could be the best ceaser salad I've had. The buffalo burger was just delish n so was the onion ring n chip n a nice Bird pale ale to wash it all down. Would definitely recommend n definitely returning.

I am reviewing only what I ordered - the beetroot burger. It was somewhat flavoursome but needed to be dipped into hot sauce to be enjoyable. The texture was like soggy felafel. The deep-fried pickles were disgusting. Avoid at all costs. Other food looked much tastier and probably would warrant more than 3 stars. It is my own predicament of Vegetarian April that led me here. I had never heard of this restaurant before but was informed by our server that it was part of a chain. We decided to stop off at Bird as it was close to a venue we were visiting that evening and it caught our eye from the outside. The menu looked pretty good so we thought we would head inside. The first thing that I would say that made it a 3 instead of a 4 star was that there was no accessible access to the building. There are two smallish steps into the restaurant but for my friend who is a wheelchair user it would be impossible for them to get in by themselves, instead myself and a few of the staff had to lift their chair up to get them into the restaurant. The staff were really accommodating here though, but a small ramp here would make it easy for a wheelchair user to enter the building - my friend noted that they had an accessible bathroom but no accessible entrance which was weird! The food it’s self was good, I know it says Bird in the name but we actually went for the vegetarian options. The poutine was great as well as the buffalo cauliflower and fried pickles (sooo good!). The service was friendly but at times was difficult to get your servers attention, it wasn’t too busy as it was a Tuesday evening. Drinks were okay, nothing special, a lot of the ingredients they needed to make them were out of stock so I just went for a random cocktail in the end that I wouldn’t have chosen otherwise. Overall, I’m not sure if I would visit Bird again in a hurry but for a quick bite it is nice enough.

Who would've known that chicken and waffles tastes so good. Honestly the best fried chicken thighs I have had so far especially with the maple syrup. The korean fries were just normal fries in hot sauce but everything else was good. The slushie I ordered was really small in my opinion but it was the flavour of the day (mango and passion fruit) was really nice. Great customer service. Very welcoming and a very chill atmosphere. Would go back again sometime soon.

Overall underwhelming experience. It had huge potential but it let me and my friend down. The fried chicken is quite average and the sauces or desserts won’t wow anyone. We got a waffle burger, waffle chicken platter and a large skillet (and one reesess cheesecake which you can’t see in the photo ) and ended up paying £53. Portions were alright but nothing managed to stand out from all the items ordered. The seating inside is a joke with most seats and tables designed for kid-sized adults and the whole place smells of fried chicken like your cheap corner chicken’n’chips - so don’t bring your nice clothes if you go there. There were 2 things that really iritated us: when we asked to get our leftovers as take away, they just brought us casseroles and bags so we had to arrange the food and put it in ourselves. It’s the first time I’ve seen this in any restaurant or eaterie. What is even more aggravating is that they add a 10% service charge to your bill whilst doing nothing to earn it. In our case it was about £5 so we decided not to make a fuss about it and ask to remove it but imagine going with a date and you can’t say anything to not embarass yourself. As a conclusion, if you are thinking about visiting this place, save yourself the disappointment and try one of the dozens of eateries in the Camden Town Stables right across the street.

Having visited Bird Shoreditch last year and giving it three stars I was hoping Bird Camden would be different. Unfortunately it is not. For a chain that specialises in chicken and claims to be London's original chicken & waffles joint, the food was disappointing. The positives about Bird Camden include the waiters - friendly and efficient - and the location (right opposite to Camden Market on Chalk Farm Road). The menu is simple - fried chicken, chicken burgers, salads, chicken & waffle plates and desserts (doughnuts and peanut butter pie). Conviniently they offer a kids menu comprised of three dishes to choose from - burger, chicken tenders or chicken & waffles - plus a dessert option. Unfortunately the food is nothing to tweet about. The Carribbean chicken & waffles (£12) were drowned in a sauce that was too sweet, overpowering the waffle and chicken. Even worse, the chicken was perfectly crunchy on the outside but dry in the inside. The fried chicken small skillet with Korean suace (£7) was equally disappointing. For starters the sauce was too sweet and smothered to excess over the chicken. While the portion sizes are generous, Camden left me flying away never to return. A real shame about the food, given in the pecking order of London chicken shops, Bird could really take flight.

My girlfriend and I went here - I got the Nashville style spicy chicken on a waffle and it was delicious. We also got some poutine to share, which I’m always a big fan of. I went to their New Brixton Restaurant. They were offering 50% Discount which was Great! I had Chips, Burger & a Desert for under £5! Which is Incredible but obviously when prices go back to full price - £9 for a Burger etc that is rather expensive! BUT the Burger is HUGE, so even at £9 u are still kind of getting value for money. Burger was nice, but nothing overly special. Standard Chips were very basic, reminded me of McDonald's chips, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The desert Banoffee Style Waffle, wasn't very good! The Waffle was hard & tasteless. Definitely not Fresh/made to order. Overall the Quality of food was good & the customer service was very good. If u want to spend £13 on a Burger & Chips then i would recommend Bird!

The only negative is that we were seated on the window instead of a table because we were a couple and there were 4 chairs left and the guy told us he wants to keep those 4 chairs for a group that might come. By the time we finished our meal, more seats were available which meant we were on uncomfortable stools for no reason

Nashville hot burger was fantastic. Beer fantastic and chicken wings were spot on. The slaw could be much better and I wasn't a massive fan of the deep fried pickles but I was so happy with everything else it made no odds.

Did the £15 unlimited wings offer from time out. The majority of the tables were doing the same and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and disorganised but we're generally quite fast. Buffalo wings were great. Korean wings were supposed to be glazed but just had the sauce chucked on top although was tasty was unlike other Korean wings I have had. All other wings were dry (not glazed) wings with sauce on the side with all sauces very tasty. But could be better if some were wet/glazed wings such as the BBQ and the jerk ones. They added service charge which I hate because I'm not always sure if it goes to the staff. All in all great deal and good wings and will come back to try the chicken and waffles.

I drove past this late one night. The sign caught my attention. Chicken and waffles. I was interested in trying it out We caught a bus down a couple of days later ( no parking in Camden). It was a wet and rainy day, only 2 other tables occupied. Staff were friendly and happy to recommend. The menu isn't extensive but it doesn't need to be. I had the Chicken and waffles, which came with maple syrup and whipped butter, my friend had the spicier version which came covered in a sweet bbq sauce. Both were nice, this is not the place to come if you are on a diet. Also on the menu were red velvet doughnuts, milkshakes and jalapeno creamed corn.

Food was awesome! Don't eat about 6 hours beforehand, it's worth it. Got the wings and waffle burger. So so good. Desert was even better "dark chocolate glazed ice-cream sandwich". Just perfect. Only disappointing thing was when I bit into burger, hot oil sprayed out and burnt my hand. I told the waiter and he just said "yea, it's because it's fresh". I thought something like that would get a small this discount on the price but unfortunately it didn't. Everything was perfect bar that.

Having read the other reviews, my expectations were low. I came here on a Monday evening when they weren't busy. Service was very friendly and attentive. I only had fried wings which did the job and hit the spot but weren't anything special (hence 4* rather than 5*). Next time, I will try other menu items and revisit this review.

Kids meals are pretty decent. Service was a bit lacking had to wait a fair while to get my plates cleared and be given the bill. Got a little static when I said I wouldn't pay the service charge which happens a lot in Camden. A service charge is a tip, and if the service was excellent I would tip.

The fried chicken burger cheered me up after an unbelievably horrible visit to a vintage shop on the same road (Chalk farm vintage - the angry guy who works there needs to work on his customer service skills). Went in angry but left happy and very well fed. The burger was worth it for £10, it was slightly burnt in one area, but was still really nice and not dry at all (which is hard to do with chicken breast). Chips were nicely flavoured, I didn't feel like I needed any sauce for them. Staff were nice and I liked the atmosphere in the place. Also my boyfriend got one of the waffle burgers - it was massive and was only £14. I think the only problem was the slightly dirty glasses we were given for our drinks but that can be solved by just washing and rinsing more thoroughly.

Perplexing as hell! A friend booked this through a Wowcher deal or something and me and my girlfriend and her partner tagged along so there was 4 of us in total, the bottomless wings and fries deal - pretty simple or so you’d think?! WRONG!! Firstly it takes a good 10/15 minutes to make sure our deals are legitimate despite the deal literally being about 48 hours old...then an explanation about how we order wings (1 flavour per order per person yada yada) fine.. What follows is our orders being taken..drinks arriving, only 3 portions of fries (minuscule) being received instead of 4 and the wings arriving (thankfully very tasty!) We then put in our second order and are waiting around 15/20 minutes when the woman (absolutely dreadful asks if we’d like to order more, we remind her we already have (THROUGH HER!) and she asks us again (we’ve now lost 20 minutes out of our 90 minute slot) we finally get the wings with no apology and more drinks from the male server who was excellent and extremely helpful! We were all quite full but placed an order for a 3rd set each but were told we had only 10 minutes left to which we argued and were given another 10 minutes, still below the 20 we’d previously waited. The female server was absolutely atrocious and incredibly forgetful and to be honest an absolute moron, thankfully the male server saved the day. The restaurant was not busy at all (not even half full) and if it wasn’t for the wide variety of wings and the guys attempts to recover what had been a poor mid meal this would have been a lower rating. Deserves a 2.5 really but I’ll edge towards a 3
