Went with my mate to Black Pepper yesterday for the first time. Short staffed on the busy day for eat out to help out but managed the restaurant and customers really well. We were greeted and served by a lovely waitress. Had a well done rib-eye steak with thick chips and creamy peppercorn sauce and bbq sticky wings. Went for lemon and lime mojito. I go there again and would recommend anyone to go there and try the bbq sticky wings. If you a steak lover, the peppercorn sauce is a must !!!

The food is nothing great to talk about, I do not understand what all this hype and rave review is about tbh. The food is at most mediocre. The steak has been asianfied, I asked for medium and they did well done.. Also too chewy. The burger is just your standard gormuet burger quite dry without any sauces inside. Both my friends who tired the steak and burger got some sort of food poisoning as one had diarrhoea and the other had intense vomiting! The only thing great was the deboned lamb which I think if you really want to visit this restaurant is the thing to try and my friend didn't have a nasty reaction to! On the plus note the decor, food presentation is nice as well as the staff, but at the end of the day food talks!

We were craving for Sunday roast. So we ordered Sunday roast on a Wednesday 😂. The food and the service was great . The autmosphere was good. We also got the chance to pray peacefully. Thank you for the lovely service today Black Pepper!.

Tried the mixed Sautee platter, wings, roast leg of lamb, Mojitos and chocolate cake. The beef was soft and juicy with not a single chewy piece. The sautee sauce was peppery but didn't overpower the meat. The chicken was just as tasty. I'd say more chips should be included. Lots of seating at the back. Decor was nice and service was good. We would visit again to try the other mains. A shout out to the chef who came to the table to ask us about the food. Top man.

The place is well decorated and has a very comfy feeling to it. The food is very standard. Looks good well presented. Food service was ok. The milkshakes and mojitos was very disspapinted. Hopefully it can change and the stars can go up. Lots of potential. HMC certified

We drove an hour to try the food and it was 100% worth it. The portions are massive and definitely worth the money and hype, you can easily tell a lot of effort and passion has gone into making the food as well as the presentation. I was pleased that they cater for vegetarians, they were very careful with my order asking me additional questions just to make sure my food would be perfect. The place is beautifully decorated and is clean, which is quite hard to find in east London and the chairs are really comfy. This place is worth the hype and I would 100% recommend.

Went for a family meal on eat out night. Thank god they allowed bookings as standinh in the rain or wind isn't my thing. Thee food was nice and service was ok but could be better, but given the fact it was on a eat out night could be why. The pepper burger were very nice and juicy. I order grilled chicken which was lovely too. Will come back after the eat out end to taste other dishes as menu was limited on the night. In all a nice family meal.

I visited this place last night and was not disappointed. The food is extremely high quality, fresh tasting and a really impressive menu. Between us we ordered Steak, Lamb chops, burger, salmon and chicken. All delicious. The staff are all so friendly, attentive and work with a smile. You can see how much effort all the team put into this place. I would definitely recommend and will gladly be going back soon again.

The first time I went here I wasn’t too impressed, but that was a while back. This time round the service and food were impeccable. The chef Hamid is ace. The service staff were beyond helpful. Today is a Saturday night so night eat out to help out but was happy to pay full price.

Good service, nice decor and comfortable chairs if a little cramped for space (the tables were also a bit sticky, they were being regularly cleaned though and maybe the anti-bac solution just left a sticky residue on the surface). We ordered 3 of the black pepper burgers, which came with a portion of fries and coleslaw, plus a variety of the mojito drinks. On the whole a decent meal. Specifically, the chips were amazing: rustic, well seasoned and just very very good, real bang for your buck food. The coleslaw was also rich and creamy. It was the burgers that let us all down: no seasoning, I really don't understand why restaurants avoid adding salt or pepper or even paprika to the burger patties before grilling, no point in having a burger that is cooked right (with the juice dripping out of the burger!) and then having it taste of nothing. I actually ended up finishing the burger, this was my first meal of the day and I was hungry, unfortunately my sister and mum didn't and that was the reason why, they weren't full but they didn't find the burger appetising enough to finish it. In the end though we didn't register a complaint as we felt that given the eat out to help out scheme, it was reasonable food at the heavily reduced price. Kudos to the staff for asking for feedback! Thats nice and a very rare practice! Seasoning! Please add seasoning to the burger patties!

Great staff, good service, the food just needs a bit more love to make it taste wholesome and worthwhile. Burger tasted a bit too normal for my liking and masala chips felt like it was just dipped in ketchup paste. Hopefully it will get better more tastier in the future! Good luck

Excellent place to eat. Originally went to Proper Burgers but found they still don't take card after 3 years in business. So visited this new place. Surprisingly amazing food and service. Staff was very helpful. Oh, must say the Best Steak we hav had so far in any Halal place. Just perfect! Hopefully will soon go again :)

My only hope like with some other restuarants is that they dont get worse over time and maintain the standards i expereienced a couple of days ago.
