Reviews of BOB's Lobster Wine Bar & Kitchen

Ordered via ubereats and perhaps it was the delivery but the fries with mussel chowder priced at £9 was atrocious with 2 pieces of mussels and soggy fries. Could have been packed separately instead of pouring a sad amount of chowder over the fries. Also found a 0.5cm shell in the lobster and crayfish roll. 3 stars for the taste as it tasted fine, although portion was small.

Great food and drink. Probably better to reserve a table as it isn't the biggest restaurant. The crab tacos were delicious.
H.
The best lobster place. Good service, great taste and enough portion size.
Expensive but worth the price.
The half or whole lobster with the vanilla white wine sauce is a must try!
D. S.
Ate there today, quality tasty meal. May be a tad overpriced but you are in London. Putting that aside, will definitely eat there again. Food was very tasty. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you!
L. H.
American diner style fast food, but exceptional quality. I wasn’t sure what to expect but loved everything we had. It was fun to share the dishes to try more. Fried oysters were huge and delicious, lobster brioche roll soft and packed full of flavour. Shrimp and grits had great flavour - could do with the heads and tail being removed in all that sauce though. The fries in chowder - you have to try! Seafood style poutine packed with mussels, yes!
K.
First time visiting BOB'S Loster. The food was amazing. Ordered a lot of food. Staff were friendly.

Enjoyable meal here on the weekend
A few observations
For a wine bar the wine list seemed short but decent and we'll priced
Saturday night is presumably not their busy night as it was quite quiet.
However very enjoyable "dirty" meal here. Not one for the diet.
Highlights were the crab stack, tuna tacos and the lobster crayfish roll. Crab stack in particular was a standout.
Mushroom and the white bait wrre fine
Lobster Mac and cheese was disappointing. Too creamy, not enough cheese. Should have had the lobster roll.
Service was very good
I would love to be here, hungover, for a Saturday lunch next time.
T. K.
Food was really good. For £1 an oyster (in oyster happy hours) they were really good.
And the Lobster and beef burger was divine. Even the Lobster mac and cheese was really good. Not the cheapest, but worth it in my opinion
S. G.
Ordered half-lobster with fries via Deliveroo – couldn't be happier. Excellent value for money compared to the similar dish at 'Wright Brothers' or 'fish!'.

Bob’s Lobster has opened its first seafood restaurant in London Bridge, just opposite Vinegar Yard. It’s got that classy American diner feel, with deep red leather booths, tiles, marble bar top, exposed brick walls, hanging lights and spotlights.
The service from the whole team was friendly, chatty and upbeat. They had plenty of recommendations for us too. What we really loved is that the owner and founder, Ralph, was on the restaurant floor chatting and serving and you could just see the passion radiate through everything he said. He was very excited about Bob’s Lobster, how far it had come, and even showed us a video of one of the street food vans being lifted by a crane onto a raised platform by the sea, ahead of a festival! He had so much pride in the whole menu and experience.
The food menu is all about sharing and trying different dishes with friends and family. When Ralph came over to chat to us, he told us how the food at Bob’s Lobster is all about the experience and adventure which we think is great!
As such, the menu itself features bar snacks, a large number of tapas-style sharing plates, a handful of larger mains, and several salads and sandwiches. Whilst the focus is mainly centred around lobster and seafood, there are veggie and vegan options, as well as the odd meat choice too.
As it was Oyster Hour, we had to try the oysters. The fresh oysters (£3 each) were really meaty. Shucking and knocking them back with a little Tabasco they were salty and pretty tasty. However, it was all about the fried oysters with a thick breaded coating. They had that fishy taste, which reminded us a bit of scampi. They were delicious and different to fresh oysters in a good way!
We then started with a few small sharing plates. First up, the cauliflower steak (£5). Pan-fried with spring onion, agave, ginger and lime salsa, it was delicious both in texture and taste. It is a tasty veggie option, with plenty of spring onion.
We also tried the Tuna Taco with sachimi tuna, wasabi guacamole, chipotle crema and sesame seeds in a crispy wonton shell. The tacos usually come in a 3 (£9) but we were dying to try a bit of everything so they let us have one. The tuna was tender and so tasty and the wasabi had a creamy taste, beautifully complimenting the flavours. The wonton shell was super crispy and stayed that way. It was light but added a beautiful crunch.
We t had the larger plates all at once, although these can arrive as and when they are ready in true tapas style.
The Lobster Tail (£22) roasted in vanilla white wine butter and herbs was so fresh, succulent and tasty. It easily came away from the shell too, which is a dream when eating lobster. The white wine butter sauce was plentiful, and great for dipping in the fries! With lobster being the star of the show, we had to try it and are so pleased we did. This is a must-order!
The Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese (£16) completed our spread. With a 3 cheese lobster bisque bechamel and lobster tail meat, topped with fried shallots, it was was oozy, stringy, and really creamy with more melted cheese on top. It had a pretty good amount of lobster too. It was rich, but not overpowering for the lobster. A great mac and cheese dish for sure.
We had a great evening at Bob’s Lobster seafood restaurant in London Bridge. The food was amazing, the drinks were all great, and the service was absolutely fantastic. It is an awesome chilled diner spot near London Bridge, and they are constantly looking to create new things for the menu too, so keep an eye out for new additions.

Had an excellent time here! The food was amazing, we got the buffalo shrimp, lobster roll & tuna tacos. The wine was good, the staff were lovely, especially Marco (our waiter). Deffo a 'go to' place if you have money to spend and want some mouthwatering food.
J. H.
OMG this place is incredible! Went for lunch there with a friend. The margarita is one of the best I've ever had anywhere. Rob the owner is a super nice guy, be sure to say hi if you see him there.
The space is well set out, great background music, friendly staff. Good for lunch or dinner.
M. C.
Nice small restaurant located near London Bridge. Tried the lobster and crab brioche roll with fries. Buttery toasted roll crammed with cold seafood. The seaweed butter and sourdough toast is a nice little starter. Interior is bright with American dinner theme. Look out for the VW camper in the middle. Will try it again. Cost per head can easily reach £35. Nearest railway and tube is London Bridge station. It gets busy on Friday evenings which is when I went. Recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
C. G.
I had a really lovely birthday meal with my 17yr old son. The staff, service and food were 10 out of 10. Will definitely return
G. B.
The fries with muscles were amazing. They didn't offer any gluten free options for a lot of the lobster dishes but the crab tacos were great.
J. C.
I think I just died and went to guacamole heaven! Wowee. Hands down the best guac in London. A good salty level, but lots of lime to balance it out, giving it a nice tart flavour. The creaminess level was just perfect, not too smashed and no big chunky pieces that dominate a bite. The chips were great too. Not sure if they’re homemade, but if so, well done chef.
The hostess was super bubbly and put a smile on our face.
And did I mention £1 oysters from 4-5pm. How good!
R. D.
So I should probably qualify this review by saying I don't really like fish or seafood. Or didn't really like fish or seafood pre-Bobs Lobster. I went with a group of friends, reassured by the fact there were plenty of meat and veggie options on the menu. I needn't have worried - the food was across the board incredible, including the fish. I still regularly think about their clam pizza. And the Octopus. They were sharing plates with nice, healthy portions, certainty enough to go around and the cocktails were amazing, try the sherry one, it's delicious. The wines went down a little too well thanks to the help of the amazing waiter who unified the tastes if four diametrically opposed women and came up with something we all loved. He was friendly and attentive and really helped us navigate the menu. Add to that the super-cool surroundings and the fact it's literally right next to London Bridge station and you've got the ideal location for dinner. I've been back for lunch and breakfast since - I just can't keep away.
A.
Amazing food, Prosecco, wines... could go on and on! And the service is really good too! Sagar was super nice to us with very good and precise recommendations! Need to go back to try other plates.
R. K.
Lovely fresh food. Great service and nice interior.
F. J.
Lovely place with amazing food and amazing patrons. The one waiter who offered us a ganache to share between three of us was perfect and the live music was entertaining. Loved it. Coming back again soon
M.
Lobster roll was good, chips good, generous side of Mac and cheese, nice staff. It’s overpriced for what it is though. Food comes out when it’s ready, not all together.
L. M.
We loved it! Great service, the staff was friendly and the food so good. I loved the atmosphere ...we had an amazing relaxing dinner. I'll be definitely back.
E. J.
Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend the benedict and oysters!
W. W.
I love the lobster and crab roll.
J. T.
Quite overpriced for such small portions. £18 for a small bowl of lobster mac and cheese.
V. V. W.
I remember them from their pop up days. Big improvement in venue! Love it. Especially their iconic truck. Available for hire for events, if you are interested. Lovely bar area and their cocktails, presented well and was really well made. Drink menu although small but had a good selection.
Those lobster meat was sweet and chunky, snuggled in between the toasted brioche (£18.00). The salmon tartare was really good with meaty salmon pieces and a creamy avocado. The battered fried chicken was crunchy but the anchovy sauce really made it more appetising. I find dishes were slightly small.
Perfect venue for large groups or an intimate two.
You cannot get more glamorous with lobsters and bubbly. Really good and friendly service made the dining experience even better.
They also do a lunch offer for £12.00 for a main and drink. Happy hour two for one cocktails.
N. K.
I ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict - it was quite tasty wish I ordered the full one!
Waiters were nice but not that attentive, which was odd considering the fact that it wasn't that busy...
F. A.
Very good service. The lobster roll was ok, but would have preferred it without the prawns.
M. P.
Nice place, amazing staff small portions but very very tasty!
A. C.
The best lobster roll I've had in London. Attentive and incredible service from Jess on front of house. I left feeling well fed and very happy indeed. Will be back!
W. M.
Just came here and I'm not one to leave reviews but the food was amazing, defo coming here again.
P.s order the mac and cheese, you won't be disappointed
K. C.
Very nice lobster but tiny portion for £25. It’s a shame there isn’t a whole lobster option on the menu.
R. K.
Really good service, thank you to Sagar who took a really good care of us and was making Espresso Martinis which were absolutely superb ! Recommended it to everyone! Also cauliflower steak is really good, as being vegetarian I could say the menu has quite a lot of vegetarian options!

Amazing experience at Bob's Lobster
Delicious food and lovely staff, the service was so attentive.
I ordered Half Lobster and Grilled calamari paired with a dry cold glass of Riesling.
I will come back soon with friends, thank you all 👍
J. K.
Love this place. Also happy hour oysters were great.
I.
Absolutely smashing wee place. Amazing food, great vibes, nice staff, good access. Will visit whenever in London from now on.
A. S.
Bob's has great staff and a really tasty menu. I had just the lobster Mac n cheese, which was creamy and not disappointingly shy with the lobster as some places can be. My aunt loved the fish pie and my mum loved her prawns and grits. It was a great vibe and our waiter was lovely and helpful. I look forward to visiting again.
A. W.
Excellent happy hour between 4-6pm, £1 oysters were incredibly good. Really friendly attentive service and nice wines. Only criticism is the portion size on the mains. Ordered fish finger sandwich, fries and broccoli and still could have eaten more, after a fair few oysters too.
a.
This little Gem at London Bridge is right across the street from Vinegar yard, if you come here at the right time of the day you can enjoy the excellent choice of wine and deal on fresh oysters - it is every weekday 4-5pm.
Unlike most places in London, this establishment took the covid regulation more seriously by requiring us to register. The staff can also be seen washing hands regularly - we just happened to sit by the window and have a direct view of the sinks lol
Been there a few times now. Thank you for the excellent service always
Pros: Excellent seafood, great deal on oysters, great selection of wine to pair and very reasonable price, great friendly staff
Cons: The oysters ran out fast!
Tip: You can come here 30-60 minutes before the happy hour to secure a nice seating, tell the staff you are there for the oysters and they will prep it for you and bring it as soon as happy hour starts!
C. B.
Great little food and drinking hole moments away from LDNB. Space outside and wonderful smells coming from inside. Had a couple of japanese beers to celebrate the Opening day of the Olympics.
T. O.
Been here a few times and the service has always been great. The new menu is brilliant - really good fresh food, not a common thing in London anymore. We went for a selection of plates between two. Excellent price and variety.
The wine list is particularly good too and its really refreshing to purchase any bottle of wine from the list in the safe knowledge that it will have been well curated. Well done guys.
Have been here both weekends and during the week. Both are good and I especially find the cosiness and atmosphere of the place great for an easy meal and drink with colleagues or a catch-up with friends after work.

Bob's Lobster Van at borough market....superb! Delicious! 👌
L. C.
The food is good and the service is welcoming. However, it doesn’t seem appropriate to sell an £20 lobster roll which arrives in literally 1 minute - I think McDonalds is slower than that.
The food is yummy and the vibe is good but it simply feels overpriced.
A. P.
Everything tasted lovely but crayfish were overcooked in the lobster roll (which could have really used more lobster at that price). We loved the flavour of the bread pudding, but it was curdled and so it had bits of scrambled egg. So overall for the price we were a bit let down, but it can't be said the food wasn't tasty.
D. L.
Exceptional food that tastes so fresh. All of the seafood is delectable and the staff are both friendly and attentive. Once seated, food comes out super quickly and each dish has a slightly unexpected ingredient in it that lends a wonderfully surprising and delightful taste. The dishes are all quite small, so order as you would at a tapas restaurant (would recommend the seafood platter + another 3 dishes. The ahi tuna tacos and pastrami cured trout are particularly delicious!)
G. A.
Nice plaice, trendy layout with be minibus as a coffee bar server. Some nice nibbles and more substantial meals, had crab cake really nice, front of house very attentive serving a selection of good wines and a few beers, big choice of cocktails and spirits.
Worth a visit.

Pretty tasty lobster Mac and cheese. The place really looks like an American diner and have a fun feel to it. Like if Bubba gump wasn't awful. The service is fast and the food pretty good.
However high quality dinning that you Normally associated with lobster it isn't. This is accessible fun lobster. Sadly it does keep the high pricetag but even how expensive the main ingredients are it's to be expected.
J. P.
Wasn't sure what to expect but really liked the space and enjoyed the food. The fried calamari and whitebait with a furikake topping was so moreish - quite different from the usual batter. We also ordered the fish finger sandwich with mushy wasabi peas and the tuna melt. Loved the former (though the peas could be more punchy), but found the tuna melt a bit overwheming and not so different from any tuna melt you might find in a good café. I would recommend not going for all fried/cheesy dishes. Throw in an oyster to break it up!
N. Y.
Very nice food and service, the tuna taco was very good and creative
P. S.
A joyful fabulous eating experience. Highly recommended. Unbelievably friendly staff, every last one of them. Superb food - a half dozen freshly shucked oysters on ice with lemon, tobasco and shallott vinegar were like eating the seaside - and just £1 each at happy hour. Mac'n'cheese in an unxious lobster bisque bechemel type sauce, a huge crab cake ball that oozed out 6 or 7 flavours once cracked, all washed down with a £25 bottle of fine pink fizzy wine and a motown soundtrack that never drowned out the conversation.
A South Carolina culinary uplift in an arch under London Bridge station. Perfect!
M. M.
BOB's is tucked under the arches of London Bridge station (walk past the Shard to find it).
Highlights for me were the Fries with Bacon and Mussel Chowder which is great fun to eat and the Kale Hush Puppies which were a great snack.
I would definitely return as I need to have the Shrimps and Grits next time.
J. S.
Stumbled upon this place after walking through Bermondsey. We sat at the bar and had some fantastic white wine (£36 for the bottle). Service staff really accommodating for one of us who is lactose intolerant. The food was really below par. The only good starter was the fries with fish eyes that had wicked batter and paprika seasoning with mayo dip. The Tuna Tacos were alright. Baja fish tacos took 35 mins to come and the taco was ice cold and was stale. The filling was piping hot and under seasoned. They threw us 20% discount because of the wait. Wouldn't recommend, follow @hungover_hungry on instagram for more insightful reviews
T. K.
Went for an 'after work social' on Thursday - a walk in but treated very well with a good table for 5 of us. Recommended some interesting wine and the oysters were great (as was the other food we had.
We will be coming back.
D. A.
Friendly but unattentive staff (the owner was great and super passionate) however the rest were clearly not.
Food wise I can seriously recommend what I had however it would make sense to order a side and potentially also a small portion of something. Overall a decent experience but could have been better.
F. A.
Place is cool has the traditional lobster van inside which is a nice touch. Sadly one of our orders never arrived. The clam flat pizza wasn't that tastey, dough bread more like something you could buy grill at home from Sainsbury, and fries not that crisp. Not sure I'll return.
N. R.
Bit disappointed with this. Could be great but instead is overpriced and not that high end. Lobster Mac&Cheese was just regular mac&cheese with one small bit of lobster on top, and the lobster roll was half filled with crayfish. A little misleading and both almost £20 each with no sides. Better off going to burger and lobster really!
C.
Average seafood restaurant. Our tuna taco starter was good but lobster mac and cheese was tiny with almost no lobster. Staff are friendly but food is not good enough and too small to justify the prices
S. C.
Great little place under the arches by London Bridge. Both the tuna tacos and the kale hush puppies were excellent. A good wine selection and waiters who knew their way around it well. Thanks guys!
V. L.
Go between 5-6pm for their £1 Oyster Happy Hour! excellent quality and fresh! Definitely worth the money. Have only tried their appetisers which have been very tasty.
p. w.
Me n da boys go to this here fish joint to bloody unwind and throw hands if anyone looks at us sideways mate

When you are asked if you have a reservation when arriving at an empty restaurant it's never a great start. Good food, but very expensive for what you get. Maybe perfect for a post-work meal, especially if someone else is paying. Less perfect for a mid afternoon family lunch.
D. A.
I’d like to give this 3.5 stars
I was craving a lobster roll after coming back from the states and this was the closest one that could deliver to me whilst I was in Bermondsey, was tasty but didn’t like the mint added to it and needs more meat inside, and the brioche roll was a bit to greasy! Nonetheless did the job, they have crab rolls too but it’s always sold out
L.
Took my daughter here for a birthday lunch, had a wonderful time. Food and staff are both excellent!
J. B.
Great food, spirits and service!
H. M.
The lobster roll isn't worth £18 what so ever... 3 stars as it's the only thing i tried there but felt ripped off paying £18 for the smallest roll i have ever had and the taste was okay... Nothing amazing unfortunately...
S. A.
Stopped by for drinks. Good service, would go back.
T. R. L.
Mum popped in for a drink on her 70th birthday. Thank you so much to the lovely waitress who looked after her and made a fuss of her with an unprompted complimentary glass of bubbly. First class customer service.
A. W.
The best lobster I've ever had! The flavor was very delicious and it was cooked perfectly! Also great dessert!
M. S.
The lobster was very vanilla flavoured

Tasty little hidden gem, really impressively tasty wines and perfectly formed little plates of yumness. Great atmosphere and staff too. Pleasantly surprised!

Good service, tasty food that is a touch innovative but not too crazy, decent atmosphere. Busy but not overcrowded
