Reviews of Bombay Burrito
A. B.
Absolute gem of a place! I love Indian food, and the food quality at Bombay Burrito is great, on top of the burrito format being great, as a super convenient way to enjoy what is usually a sit-down meal! I moved out of London but still come back here to satisfy my craving for it. If you love this place too, try and support them by paying for your food directly rather than through the delivery apps - things like Deliveroo take 42% of the money!!
N. H.
Great option for a take-away! Have ordered a few times now and the burritos have been tasty & hitting the spot - give it a try, it's a fun concept that works
S.
Love this place! So tasty and great prices! Was looking for something affordable to eat in the area and this seems to be one of the only places not to rip you off
V. C.
A fun Indian cafe/takeaway with dishes served Mexican-style: tacos and burritos mostly. I had a chicken tikka burrito which was very filling by itself and surprisingly spicy. As well as chicken and spices it also had a generous portion of paneer. They also have homemade mango lassi (£2.50) and sweet samosas (apple and cinnamon filling when we went - very good). Service at the counter could be improved but they only have one server. They have three tables but I suspect much of the business is takeaway and delivery especially as it opens late. Expect to spend £25 for two if you have lassis and a full dinner
L. C.
This place is a bit of a hidden gem. I want them to have branches everywhere. I do goout of my way to come to this place because its so good. The food is amazing and the portions generous. Curry on chips ftw!
n. b.
Fantastic spin on a burrito with delicious Indian inspired fillings! Staff there was super lovely and talked me through all the different fillings ect.
Make sure you come there hungry!
C. J.
Great food great prices and all from great team always happy to see you. This place is a staple of my working week. Lockdown was hell with without you guys
A. D.
Lovely food and staff. Needs some more love people - give it a try. I had chicken and my 2 fellow diners had vegan.
V. S.
Amazing place to eat in!! I enjoyed the curry bowl with Tandoori Chicken and the tikka masala sauce. The chicken was so tender and flavourful and reminded me of India. Highly recommended!!
E.
A curry (rice, chick peas, onions, chicken, curry sauce, chutneys ...) all in a burrito 🌯- pure genius!
D. C.
This place is unreasonably delicious. I haven't found any good traditional burritos since moving to London from the US, but this place more than makes up for it! Indian burritos are an incredible combination. Can't recommend enough. I come here any time I'm within a 2 mile radius of Angel for any reason.
R. S.
Very nice burritos, a variety of fresh salad and toppings available. Lots of sauces available, be sure to try the Naga Khan if you can stomach it! Chicken is generally okay but can be dry at times. Beef is generally good. Large burritos are huge there's even ample for me and my big belly! This place is only let down by it's staff who are quite uninterested and unfriendly. (Note that my review is based on my pre-COVID visits)
J. G.
High ingredient quality and generous portions makes this a great value and tasty meal. I tend to take the box option, rather than burritos, but both are good. The concept is a bit different and I think they only have one branch, so come here to try it
N. M.
Burrito but with Indian food, sign me up! First ate here as a student over 10 years ago, nice to see they have vegan options now too.
J.
Fresh, tasty food, very good value for money, friendly staff. Recommend chicken tikka burrito, popadoms and drink for £7.50!!!
L. R.
The "Big V" is incredible. So good. Keep coming back for it.
K. S.
Its not just Indian, its a combination of Indian and Mexican. Their burrito was delicious and really big. Worth the money in my opinion. Good for students and you can takeaway too. Would recommend for quick bites. They also offer really spicy version of most of the foods.
H. V.
food is tasty but service is painfully slow and disorganised.
L. F.
A very interesting take on Indian food. Its basically a meal (rice + meat + curry) in a wrap. They offer generous portion sizes, so only order a large if you haven't eaten for days. The only offer a salad & vegetarian & vegan options. Its a got a very student/cafe feel with limited seating but offers great service
S. P.
Enticed by the name, I enjoyed my visit to Bombay Burrito and can't wait to return. Regular was big enough for me but, if you want something more substantial, you can order a burrito which pretty much the size of a child's head! Super-tasty and will definitely go back the next time I'm in Islington.
R. K.
I've been a loyal local customer of Bombay Burrito for over two years. I've never had a bad experience until I showed up at 12:50pm today. I was told the staff was running 15 minutes late–I could wait around if I wanted, or "we'll see you later."
This is not the customer service I expect if I take time out of my day to come over in person. If I've spent 15 minutes walking over in person, and there's no other customers waiting, please don't turn me away just to prioritize online orders. I understand you're coming out of lockdown and it may make short-term financial sense to prioritize faceless, corporate orders over regular walk-in customers–but please don't be surprised when business dries up at the first sign of a new lockdown, or when your Deliveroo customers are no longer working from home.
I'm deeply disappointed, more so because I thought I had a personal connection with the family that runs the business. Clearly that was just in my head.
UPDATE: I've had a decent experience subsequently, so upgrading from 3 to 4 stars.
A. N.
A real gem of a takeaway food establishment. Good portions, good homemade food and a great range of options and choices. I especially appreciate their homemade sauces.
One of the best places to eat out in the area in my opinion, and putting the local overpriced selections to shame. Keep up the good work and thanks for making me feel so satisfied after a long day
C. C. L.
Full of charisma little take away shop with sitting area. Relax vibe and friendly staffs. The reason I gave 3 stars was the food. The chicken is flavored and tender. Nevertheless, the curry sauce is very thin and the fried onion is bitten. It just not my cup of tea.
W. L.
Great idea. Amazingly large portions. Tasty burritos and the chicken was particularly tasty. Staff in store could have been friendlier and more helpful. It's a vast menu and a quick explanation of the menu or procsss would have been really helpful.
J. P.
These burritos are awesome and the large size is massive and hits the spot. My go to is the korma burrito with paneer. Great choice for a veggie/vegan cheat meal
N. J.
An absolutely fantastic place to get "Indian burritos". I went to get a takeout and the owners served me. Very friendly and courteous owners, and their hospitality reflects in the food they serve. Amazing food, really delicious, and very filling for the price you pay. Good options for veggies and the paneer is good. I will highly recommend this place to everyone.
I have been here at least 10 times since my original review: this place never disappoints. Each and every member of the staff has been very helpful. Keep up the great food!
S. W.
Delicious burrito and a great price. Plenty of fresh ingredients and really tasty curry choices. Great for veggies as you can have paneer with any of the many options. Good meal deals too with popodoms, brownies and other great sides. Will come again. Also excellent customer service. Super friendly staff and a few tables to eat at.
S. N.
Had curry bowl here; with chicken and a few add ons. The flavors tasted good and the food was filling. Only thing is I could have avoided the sauces. So if you are hungry and want to have a filling dinner this is a good choice
M. Z.
Really good take on a burrito. Had the grilled cheese one and it was very nice and super filling. Staff is friendly and quick. You can sit down inside which is good as the food can get messy. The place inside is a bit run down but the food is great.
M. J.
Best burritos I’ve had. A little bit pricy for a burrito but the flavours are great. If the brought their prices down a little, I would order a lot more from them.
B. R.
The chicken was marinated perfectly and the korma and "Indian salsa" were super delicious! Get cilantro and the fried onions as toppers. Great deal for a burrito + beer.
S. A.
Impressed with the quality, flavours, packaging, attention to detail (the small sweets for after) and overall concept of this place. Ordered through Uber Eats and I've gotta say it was damn tasty. Note, I think it would be wise to include a disposable knife and fork with future orders though.. it's pretty messy to eat.
K. S.
Loved this place! We went here right after an Industrial concert in the late evening and it was a perfect place for a late night dinner snack. The burrito had amazing and authentic flavours and very filling. Nice place as well, interior wise. Recommend this to anyone in the area.
Z. D.
This is a hard place to review because the long and short of it is - it's a curry wrapped up in tortilla and they call it a Bombay Burrito. It's absolutely huge, it's a monstrosity and for some reason it just kind of works. I wouldn't go here too often as it's essentially fast food - but the service is really friendly, the food is delicious (not too spicy for us wimps) and the loyalty card is a nice touch. Their collection service via Just Eat could use some work, but overall I'd recommend it for food in a pinch!
C. L.
I can't believe I worked and lived so close to this place for so long and only recently discovered it. I was told it sucked so I avoided it. Finally went because I was craving paneer. Holy @!£&, so good. The Bombay royale, no chicken, extra paneer, is amazing. I have to limit the amount of times I eat there because if it weren't for fear of heart disease, I would eat there everyday.
M. S.
Tried this twice. The first time I made my own and I wasn’t that happy, then I tried the signature Bombay burrito and that was great!! Hoping to try some different ones. The tikka masala and mild sauce is yummmm! Service is very fast and pretty friendly.
S. E.
Good food. Go ahead and try the spiciest food you dare to. It should be good. If taste of food is all that concerns you then the rest of the review wouldn't bother you. I would have given them a five star but they have put up a really bad poster of Amitabh's Don. It was so bad, I think, had I seen it before I went in, I might have given the place a skip. Hope they get a better poster soon. The Shahenshah poster was quite ok and even the lesser known Giraftaar (wonder why that one though), so makes me wonder why they goofed on the more popular Don one.
H. R. (.
Delicious.
I'm an extremely fussy eater, and a vegetarian at that, so I really struggle to find places that I like to eat at, but this place is amazing. The staff are welcoming and friendly and I love that you get the option to fully customise your order, picking your main item (paneer or one of the meats), your curry sauce, additional toppings, chutneys, etc. from over the counter rather than a fixed menu (think Subway; picking each topic individually).
I'd thought the combination had sounded odd, I'd been apprehensive about trying it for a long time but I'm very glad that I did, curiosity got the better of me after having passed by on a nearly daily basis, and now I'm a regular, I've had to resist eating here on my every lunch break.
R. O.
Fascinating combination of Mexican awesomeness meets Indian amazingness - Very delicious and so perfect for lunch. Coming back and recommending it to all my friends. Staff is fun and nice!
C. P.
Absolute gem of a fast food/takeaway restaurant. If you want quick and tasty late night food you must go here. So much choice, huge portions and absolutely delicious. Reminds me of NY late night food, there need to be more places like this in London.
H. (.
The burritos here taste phenomenal. A lovely Indian twist to a Mexican classic!
The chicken here is halaal and there are a range of curry sauces here which can decorate the burrito as you wish. The sauces are all Indian classics from mint raita, mango chutney and tangy tomato. Salads adds the final authentic touch to the burrito.
A beautiful local stop by when I'm bored of rice and curry at home haha!
G. S.
Delicious and unique combination of Tex-Mex flour tortillas with different gourmet, spicy Indian fillings. Very satisfying for fast food. The kind of place you crave and want to go back to again and again!
M. H.
I don’t think this place knows quite how good it is. The food is exceptional.
I actually prefer these burritos to authentic Mexican ones.
It’s just delicious.
P. R.
Lo and behold! Chips inside a burrito, heavens almighty! I lost my Bombay virginity today to the Bombay Royale with Cheese. The adjectives to describe such a grand experience do not exist! I thought that religious experiences were restricted to the church, but no! Today I tasted God, and he was a delicious burrito.
D. G.
Outrageous burrito inside a burrito was delicious and spicy as advertised. Worth another visit.
K.
Unique and toke (which means dope and cool). A true establishment for the people.
B. L.
Outstanding food! Massive portion size with so much flavour! I eat here once a week for the past two years. Chicken tikka burrito every time I'm satisfied.
M. T.
2020:
Tried again and noticed the lentil and spinach dal vada got better, it is really properly green inside. They don’t skimp on the spinach. Am a fan!
2019:
I come here mainly for the dal vada which is tasty and not greasy.
Some of the salad mix tends to be a bit on the sweet side but this is made up for by the friendly staff.
M. B.
I was initially a bit sceptical of a place serving 'Bombay Burrito' as they called it but woah was I wrong to be sceptical. I had the Bombay 666 which is pretty spicy. Importantly the food unlike most spicy dishes at Indian places in the UK actually had a nice flavour. Also they seem to have managed to genuinely replicate an Indian Burrito. Instead of just smashing some curry in a tortilla and calling it a burrito, they have obviously given thought to the individual elements that go into a good Burritto, and replicated it using Indian equivalents. I would also like to point out they have options for Vegetarians (Paneer) and for Vegans (tofu) which is a plus in my books.
T. d. S.
Been going here for ages, the food is ALWAYS delicious.
The portions are erratic since they got new staff in. One day you get a healthy sized burrito, the next you get a small burrito when you have asked for a large one. Rubbed in by seeing the person in front of you's burrito is MASSIVE and your burrito is tiny.
Still worth a visit though.
L. M.
Bombay Burrito offers some great-value alternatives to your typical takeaways.
With their varied curry sauce selections, and their Subway-rivalling range of toppings, chutneys and additional accompaniments - you can definitely tailor your Bombay Burrito your way.
When spoilt for choice, one may have trouble deciding what to go for. Luckily, the knowledgeable, enthusiastic and winsome staff take pride and pleasure in sharing their recommendations. They'll let you know if your burrito is heading towards the sweet side, and will suggest chutneys as appropriate!
We went for for the Beef Tikka Massala, and the Chicken Spicy Korma and a side order of Chips covered with Dhansak sauce. Upon first bite, I was excited. This was something that was familiar yet invigorating! The classic beef texture reminded me of other burritos, but that tang of the tikka massala and raita made this burrito its own.
The cafe itself is small and tranquill. I appreciated the underlying melodies of indie rock and folk songs in the background, and the small tables and chairs peppered with Indian artefacts and chilli plants endued a relaxing atmosphere.
We will definitely be visiting Bombay Burrito again, and recommend it to those who would like to try curries in a new way!
E. A.
What can I say, except mmmmmmmmm, yum yum, and more mmmmmmmmmm.... simply mind blowing flavour fusion of Mexican and Indian... the chicken tikka and shredded beef burrito are fresh, generous, and to die for... well maybe not die, but if it was my last request, this place would be at the top of my list!
R. S.
The place didn't seem very clean or inviting. The server lady wasn't friendly - and frowned upon asking too many questions. Though the Bombay Burrito was good.
R. L.
We moved away from the area around 6 months ago and Bombay Burrito is the biggest thing I miss.
Came back this week, and it’s as good as ever.
Thoroughly recommend.
Eat everything!!
U. E.
If you want to be fed very well this is your place. Indian mexican mix. Big portions. Good price. Be careful not to over order.
N. A.
Love it, when the people of Bombay Burrito mix great indian food with the mexican burrito. I work in healthcare, and after a long day in clinic Bombay Burrito saves me everytime, quality products and certainly quite healthier than other takeaways around Angel. 5 star guys, keep up the good work and add new currys!
G. T.
So delicious and very filling! they have a great tofu option for vegans. And it is all customize-able like subway.
M. R.
Really nice burrito place, run by friendly people. I admit, Indian burrito sounds a bit wrong, but don't worry about that - it turns out it really works!
Good choice of fillings, all very tasty.
I. S.
My favourite it the Paneer Makhani but everything I’ve tried is great! Filling portions and very reasonably priced. Have it at least once a week!
p.
Really tastey food. USP is the different vegan curries gravy options. Definitely recommend.
S. H.
Bombay Burritos: the tastiest sauces, which means their burritos are superior. Very superior.
K. D.
A hidden gem! Brilliant combination of Indian and Mexican foods - you won't go home hungry! Reasonably priced and a kind staff. Will be back!
K. M.
Really tasty indian burritos with a great selection for veges and vegans - it really filled me up! The staff were friendly and knew their product well.
I. C.
Amazing vegan options. Recommend Vegan Bombay Burrito with Chickpeas, Dal Vada (lentils and spinach balls - AMAZING!!!) with dhansak sauce.
J. W.
Good food but American lady was rude and seemed unprofessional. Saw her on her phone when I walked in - bit unhygienic? Other staff are nice and friendly though! But would not recommend coming here when she’s working
j. B.
This place is 100% the bomb. No review does it justice. Go here. Eat it. Enjoy. Great prices, great atmosphere and delicious foods.
K. S.
Amazing combination of Indian and Mexican cuisines for a very affordable price. Would recommend. Offers a student discount too.
L. Y. W.
If you like burrito and curry this is the best place. Its a shame it's only got one branch. should be at london bridge too. Cant forget the taste
D. B.
This place is great. Delicious food. Friendly service. Generous portions and fair prices. Highly recommend.
T. Q.
Love it when they have a deal with a beer. Cant go wrong, very good size burrito.
J. B.
All the way from Cali!
The spicy wasn't as hot as I remember but it was EXCELLENT. I'll hit it a few more times while in London.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
W. Y.
Stopped in for a quick snack not expecting anything ground breaking but had one of the best burritos I've ever had.
G. W.
Tried this place once with a friend and I am hooked ever since. I enjoy the good mood and delicious food and drinks. I recommend this place.
A. M.
As many have commented before this place does not disappoint. We were staying a block away and needed a quick meal and popped in. Left very full, very happy.

Loved the Indian food in London. Would like to add extra star for Amitabh Bachchan's iconic posters
M. C.
Best tasting burrito's I've had. The Bombay royale burrito delivers every time!
D. C.
Cool mix but not the greatest. Really just an Indian meal compressed into a tortilla. Very heavy feeling after
S. P.
The absolute best deliverooo you can get. So so so tasty! Please extend your delivery to Finsbury Park!!
M. R.
Delicious! Be warned though it can make a mess... do not eat before a job interview
J. F.
this place is wonderful but i'd actually say get a curry bowl rather than a wrap.
Z. O.
A nice fusion concept and well worth a visit. The staff are very friendly

It's a burrito. With Indian food in it.
It's everything you expect.
Incredible.

Great idea to put curry inside tortilla wrap. Unfortunately the venue is bit dingy.
A. G.
Underwhelming taste. Right amount of spice though
M. J.
Great burritos, but a bit on the pricy side for what they are

We joked about this place because it seemed like such a bizarre concept. We should have just tried it. Everything we ordered was really tasty. I loved my super spicy tikka masala burrito. I ordered it medium which was plenty! I can’t imagine how hot their hot is. This place is no joke just tasty food.
s. s.
(Translated) Very good burritos, a large choice of sauces, meats, side dishes ... all served with a smile! A little star less because I had asked for the least spicy possible for my wife because she sucks and she spat fire ^^
(Original)
Burritos très bon, un grand choix de sauces, de viandes, d'accompagnements ... le tout servi avec le sourire! Une petite étoile en moins car j'avais demandé le moins épicé possible pour ma femme car elle craint et elle a craché du feu ^^
L. M.
