Reviews of Bread Street Café - Ealing
F. E.
Love the food. Gold stars to the chefs.
Went for my aunties birthday.
Only issue I had was that my long Island iced tea didn't taste like it had any alcohol whatsoever in there it tasted like water down coke with ice.
Four of us had this drink and came to the same opinion.
Are waitress worked exceptionally well.
Looking forward to having breakfast in the summer outside

A restaurant near Ealing Broadway station (8min walk) that serves a fusion of different cuisines.
We came here in a group of 6 for a Xmas meet-up. The restaurant was very quiet for the evening we visited. At the busiest time, the ground floor was half full. There’s a first floor, which was completely empty.
We ordered a main and some dessert. The mains were quite standard - nothing really surprised or amazed us. We also had mocktail and cocktail, which were nice.
The service was not too great, as waited for quite long for orders. At checkout, there was a mistake on our drinks. The drinks should be discounted, due to a happy hour offer, but it was not offered and we had to ask for it to be corrected.
For the food we ordered - a main, a drink and a dessert each, we spent £30 per person.

Fast service. Good food. Egg yolk was more orange than my grandma's. I didn't like the interior and chairs not very comfortable. Pricey of course. It's good for a quick healthy bite of you're rich.

Lovely cafe with amazing food. The ricotta pancakes were to die for - honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The eggs royale were also great with perfectly poached eggs - absolutely beautiful and runny in the middle. The coffee was also lovely. The service was impeccable and very friendly. We accidentally knocked off a salt shaker and the staff immediately swooped in to change it for a fresh one for us. Absolutely lovely atmosphere with fantastic food. I would definitely recommend.

Going to a Gordan Ramsay restaurant I had to have his signature dish, was honestly the best thing I've had in such a long time. The service was very friendly and welcoming and they brought some colouring and stickers for my 4 year old over. Couldn't recommend enough
F. L.
Went with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day for dinner, place looked very tidy and super clean, service was impeccable despite being super busy. I loved the special cocktails for the occasion and food was very tasty. I will definitely go back.

We came here for breakfast and were greeted by friendly conversational staff. Though this is a new cafe, the interior decor design made it feel as if its been around for a long time, and maintained well.
Servers were quick to take the order. We ordered their open omelette and full English. Both delicious and of high quality standard. We were served our coffee but had to wait 20mins for the breakfast (cafe was about 70% capacity)
I'll come back to try their dinner and their bar most certainly.

A nice little restaurant- pretty much the same decor as when it was Limeyard previously. Very calm atmosphere and very relaxing. Got the burger and chips, mac and cheese and truffle mash. The burger was so tasty! Very juicy and flavourful and the chips were crisp. The mac and cheese is amazing! The garlic and the breadcrumbs just make it taste so good! The only let down for me was the mash as it wasn't quite as creamy as I'd like it and the truffle was bitty as opposed to shavings or an oil which would have been preferable. But overall a lovely experience!

I mean.. you walk into this place for the name right? You'd think for a renowned chef's restaurant you'd get nothing average. Especially for someone who keeps making fun of other chefs..
We had the most basic things.. burgers, fish & chips and a salad.
The kale salad was too dry we had to ask for olive oil, balsamic vinegar and lemons to season it and make it edible.
The burger was below average and the fish and chips had a tiny portion of mushy peas and the coating of the fish was soggy and not cripsy at all..
Customer service was okayish.. overall I wouldn't come back.

We went for a date brunch and couldn’t have been happier. Cosy and casual atmosphere seems perfect for grabbing lunch with friends.
Our waitress was great and very attentive, made sure we had drinks soon after sitting down. Coffee is a special blend for Gordon Ramsay and is really nice, although quite strong.
Food arrived in good time and at perfect temperature. Really tasty, probably one of the best English Breakfasts I’ve had and had no complaints from my wife either who enjoyed her avocado on toast with poached eggs.
We will be back I’m sure!
G.
Great place, smart, clean, attention to detail at the best. Food was really good with more than large portions. Staff absolutely lovely. We went for Sunday lunch and definitely will be coming back. Someone may say it's pricey but you get what you pay for. In my opinion prices are ok and same as in similar restaurants in Ealing. I have been in few GR restaurants and this one definitely stays on my map.
E. P.
The food was absolutely amazing!! 🤗😊 We tried the Peri Peri Chicken and the Hell's Kitchen Burger..both delicious! Staff is very nice and friendly and the location top!!! We will definitely go back to try the beef wellington!!
H. x.
When we arrived we were greeted by really friendly well dressed staff, Me and my party were all in agreement our server Alex was quite possibly the best waiter I've ever experienced!! Really enthusiastic about his job and extremely friendly such a amazing asset to the restaurant! The food was incredible and awesome quality we will definitely be returning soon ❤️
P. M.
First time here. Still feels very much like the old Limeyard. Great breakfast - opted for the full English breakfast, as you can see from the picture, it looked and tasted fabulous! It’s a pricey option for Ealing, but I would definitely go back.
P. F.
Food was tasty. Very expensive for what it is though. Circ. £20 for a Shepherds Pie is quite a price for a simple dish. Opted for the Butter Chicken to stretch the culinary imagination and give the tastebuds something that would get closer to justifying the price.
If there wasn't the Ramsey label, you'd think twice about staying. Novel first time visit and staff happy to engage and
service is good, but won't be rushing back.

I was celebrating my birthday yesterday with my friends @ Bread Street cafe Ealing and must say it was awesome 👌 Delicious food, allergy friendly restaurant, great service and amazing atmosphere! Beef Wellington was the best 👏 Thank you! Very pleased 😀
G. V.
We visited Bread Street Cafe yesterday and it was lovely. The food was excellent and portion sizes were very generous! The chicken wings and the Sunday Roast were excellent. Also the twist on the whisky sour was amazing! One of the waiters was very funny and friendly! Can’t remember his name but ensured we had a good experience. Will come again - big Ramsay restaurant fans!
C. L.
I have been to Bread Street Cafe on several occassions since it opened and have always had an excellent experience. The food is really good. Must try the ricotta pancakes for breakfast/burnch and the tamarind chicken wings or squid for starters at dinner. The pineapple and kiwi carpaccio is a firm favourite dessert in my family. Staff are also very attentive. I've mostly been served by Karolina when visiting who always offers great service. We also celebrated a special occasion here and they made something a little extra, which was a lovely touch!
H. C.
Good service with very slow food delivery. Offer of water for the table never materialised. Food was decent and tasty. The scrambled eggs were cold as was, now that I think about it, everything on the plate.
M. M.
Visited for the first time yesterday & it definitely won't be my last! Myself & my daughter had the full breakfast & it was delicious!! Especially the scrambled egg, that was exceptional! The thing that made our visit extra special was the service. We were very well looked after by extremely friendly & professional staff. A very welcome addition to Ealing, long may it last! 👏
A. S.
Fantastic food, very well prepared. (Almost) worth the money but understandable as its owned by Gordon Ramsay.
Extremely great staff, very friendly and go the extra mile to provide great service. My waiter and waitress was Tom and Meggy, improved my experience significantly as I was alone and had no one else to speak to but them.
A. T.
We went for breakfast for my partners birthday and it was amazing start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make it extra special for my girlfriends birthday which was so lovely. We got given complimentary Prosecco and ice cream which were such lovely touches and it really did make it stand out from other places. Every single staff member in there was absolutely incredible and a real credit to the restaurant.
The food was excellent and the iced coffee they made me was honestly one of the best coffees I’ve ever had.
I can’t thank everyone there enough it was all just so lovely. If you are planning any special occasion I would definitely recommend going here as they really do put in the most amount of effort to make it feel special.
The pricing was fair and every ingredient was of high quality. Thank you to everyone there.
S. •.
I visited Bread Street Cafe yesterday for my birthday we had a lovely waitress called Romana she gave us all a free glass of Prosecco which was nice of them. The food was very tasty and tasted fresh. The reason why I am only giving 3 stars is because one of the waitresses did not know the price of the drinks and the man at the door was very rude. He told us that they didn’t accept cash only card they didn’t mention this when we arrived. Also he told us that we had 10 min to leave. There were 7 of us and it felt like he was saying you have eaten now leave!!!! We asked him his name but he refused to give it. He just wanted us to leave and we all found him extremely rude. There were no customers waiting to be seated and the place was not overly full. The staff need to be trained on customer service and how best to treat paying customers. I will not be visiting this place again due to the way this man behaved on a day that was was supposed to be special. Thanks Bread Street Cafe but you need to train your staff to be a bit more polite to their customers.
T. P.
Service was very good, but the food was bang average.
With it being a Gordon Ramsey restaurant you'd expect high standards - the starters were nice but mains very average with uncooked chips. Also, burger came on sandwich plate meaning it went everywhere.
Wouldn't rate the food any better than pub food
C. R.
I made a visir last Sunday for the roast beef dinner - it was delicious - beef was cooked to perfection! Thoroughly enjoyed it so came back this week with my friend for breakfast - food was SO DISAPPOINTING! I didn’t get my toast with my full English, and it wasn’t very hot. Asked for sparkling water was given still. A lot of staff around but all seem to be talking and not doing. Would only visit for Sunday roast in the future.
E. H.
Came in for dessert and the service was amazing starting from Mario when we were standing outside reading the dessert menu. Alex our waiter was really attentive and helpful and made sure we were well looked after. We had the chocolate fondant and sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fondant was perfect. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and everyone was really observant and we highly recommend and would come back again to try lunch or dinner next time.
C. L.
Ordered: Smashed Avo on Sourdough, English Breakfast and Riccota Pancakes.
Poached eggs were perfect (quality eggs too).
Sausages not mushy at all.
Had pretty much what I loved about breakfast...including fresh grapefruit juice. Apparently the coffee is good too.
Service was a bit slow.
N. H.
Was a great experience loved the food and the wine was to die for!! Alex’s service was amazing. Defo put a smile on my face tonight ❤️
R. J.
Went on two occasions. Service excellent both times. REALLY good cocktails. Food was hit and miss - beef Wellington was great, Caesar salad was very average, Bang Bang Sandwich was only OK.
J. M.
My partner and I went here for the first time tonight and had a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely fantastic and great value for money. We had a bottle of the Picpoul and it was the best one I have ever tried. But most importantly, the service we received from our waiter, Alex, was brilliant. He was so attentive, friendly, and helpful! A massive asset to the restaurant! We will definitely be back again
S. E.
Visited on the first day of opening. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The service was polished and the manager ensured all was running smoothly. The restaurant is fresh and has a good ambience, the music is not overly loud so it's easy to hear and to char with friends. I had the caesar salad and added chicken breast (for an extra cost). As a main meal, there was plenty of food and the dish was well balanced. Very nice experience, hope the quality of service and food continue...well worth a try but advisable to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
C. B.
Only marked down as they were missing the main special course at 8pm but I must say that service was amazing. They were so attentive, especially Martha, so I cannot fault the service at all! My table shared starters which were all perfectly prepared and we each had a different main course which were also lovely. A bit overpriced for what it was and the location but overall a very pleasant experience.
S. F.
The 1st time we went for drinks and nibbles, thought it was fabulous. This time went for Sunday lunch. Kids meatballs were inedible (thank goodness it was free) and the signature burger meat tasted off. Service was middling. 5 people stood chatting by the service counter and all oblivious to attempts to get their attention. Ending up calling for the bill with our meals not eaten and headed elsewhere for sustenance.
P. P.
Nice atmosphere and great customer service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food. We had tuna tartare which was so good as was the squid. For mains we had fish and chips, sea bass and the burger which were all equally very good.
S.
My husband and I were looking forward to trying Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant. I am a massive fan of his cooking shows, recipes etc
We visited twice : both visits 2 consecutive Fridays.
1st Friday -we were seated downstairs. The service was very good!
Most Staff v. Attentive
Water on the table const topped up
Only thing my husband was being bumped by staff who were trying to get to another table -it was a little cramped.
Food
Ordered a squid starter to share -was nice
Rib Eye steak for my husband-he said it was OK.
I had a beef Wellington- the beef was cooked to perfection ... a little more Seasoning would have made it superb.
Grey goose cocktail- was delicious
2nd Friday we booked a table for 4. Met up with our friends.
We were seated upstairs.
The service was v slow, had to ask for things more than once. Staff were not too familiar with the menu.
Food
Peri peri chicken -our friend described as ordinary
Fish and chips-the fish was lovely, however the chips were a combination of over and under cooked.
Our friend has given her feedback to the waitress, essentially it was about the chips being very big and too soft, no crispiness. The waitress , was lovely, however her response to the feedback was "May be its just your taste"
Unfortunately, for me that comment was not required as can be construed as dismissive.
I had a seabass on a bed of salad , glazed in lemon sauce. It was delicious.
I absolutely loved the seabass. The herbs/ leaves elevated the taste of the seabass! It was a marriage made in heaven! Perfect!
Desert:
Espresso martini with chocolate fondant. The combination was recommended by our waitress. The desert was too sweet and the cocktail didn't balance or compliment the desert.
Struggled with lack of water at the table and had to ask.
Summary
I loved my seabass -so this dish is excluded from the food summary.
To summarise the meals were ordinary.
Taking into account that we went twice to give the restaurant a fair chance, we all decided that it was worth the experience.
Is it worth a revisit? May be, but not for a while as we think it needs some improvements.
T.
Really not worth the hype. The food was far too salty, and the fish not very nice - very overly fishy taste to the cod which was not ideal
Decor not too great - seat covers were visibly filthy
Expected more from Ramsay's restaurant
M. P.
Loved the energy of the staff, from the moment we walked in, especially Alex, who is "from heaven" :)!
We used to frequent Limeyard a few times a year but it never really hit the mark. Pleased Gordon decided to give Ealing a bit of the Ramsay treatment and I'm happy to report, it won't disappoint.
Our son was super keen on a full English one morning, so we thought we'd pop over and give it a try. My husband and I opted for the full English, veg style and I fell in love with the spinach and quinoa. Nice portion sizes, plated up very professionally, a bit heavy on the toast, but one can forgive Gordon for the carb coma he put us in.
Will certainly give the menu a try one evening.
Nice to see a number of fresh and new restaurants coming to the Ealing High Street. Welcome, Bread Street.
D. D. S.
So I had the seen the reviews good and bad and decided to give this a try. I then looked at the menu and decided on the ginger cocktail ( I have been waiting all week for this :). Thought I’d try the bang bang chicken sandwich. When I got there they had run out of ginger so I had to choose another cocktail which they made for me with vodka rather than gin. The sandwich was light and full of taste, the chips were hot and crispy. Then to my surprise they had gone out and got ginger for my cocktail and made it for me. I was soooo happy.
In a nutshell the staff here are 2nd to none Gordon should be proud. I will definitely be coming again soon and I highly recommend this culinary experience to anyone.
H. M.
Friendly staff and great, speedy service. Food isn't anything to write home about, but you get what you order, they're attentive and allowing if you want to make changes, add extras, etc. Prices are what you would expect for a Celebrity branded cafe.
T. L. L.
What a lovely experience, the food was delicious the staff so nice and were extremely efficient and presented us with a Happy Anniversary dessert at the end of our meal. We will definitely be coming back.
S. C.
Alex and Rumesya made my day! I didn’t feel like I was going to a restaurant. It felt like home! The service was amazing, actually I would say perfect! I’m very happy and the food was awesome! Gordon Ramsay’s quality OF COURSE!!!!!!
B. A.
Very delicious food and service and team are quite literally amazing. You are in for a special treat if Alex is your waiter. If you're into cocktails, they have a great selection.
K. P.
Been there this weekend, it was my second visit and as the first one it was excellent.
The restaurant was full yet the staff was attentive and service impeccable.
The sea bream was absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait for my next visit .
R. S.
Came here for a birthday dinner, the food was lovely, great size portions and what made me give this place 5 stars was Alex and Carolina, they were welcoming and attentive and delightful to speak to. They made the evening special and listened to what we asked and said.
G. W.
Went into today as a group of 4, food was excellent and the staff very kind and accommodating. Alex was a fantastic host and waiter. Will definitely come back and would recommend this place for sure.
B. B.
3 * only becouse we took our friends out and the company is what matters!
And some procecco 🥂
Overpriced and doesnt cater for vegeterians!
Also very uncomfortable seats, if I wanted to seat at a park bench I would have gone to the park!
P.s lovely waitress said Gordon hates vegeterians!!! Oh dear!!🙈
E. C.
Gordon's latest to reach the masses.
Nice little place to have breakfast at a very reasonable price.
Would recommend, but portions are a little small.
F. F.
Lovely lunch and Chapel Down Fizz. Chocolate dessert with salted caramel ice-cream is delicious. Fantastic service by Alex!
C. A.
Great music, outstanding food, my server Alex was very kind and welcoming, I felt taken care of. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
D. B.
I enjoyed a full english here with my daughter as my usual (coté) were not serving. I want to give a big shout out to Dana Constantin for amazing service despite being super busy
S. S.
We were so excited for this to open and were impressed! The food was great, we got the fish & chips, banh mi, wings, squid, and Mac and cheese. Great staff and atmosphere, can't wait to come back.
A. N.
The only reason for the low reviews score is that this is Ramsay's restaurant. I've been here a dozen times and service and food were always good.
P. M.
The Bread Street Cafe in Ealing Broadway is open from 7.30 am from breakfast, and lunch is served from 11.30 am. I selected the full English breakfast from the breakfast menu, which was absolutely delicious. Great service from Ben and the team, highly recommended.
T. K.
What a disappointment. Nice but lousy service. Very, VERY AVERAGE food… it might be alright for some but it’s just nicely presented pub food, but double the ££
C. L. T.
Eat there yesterday evening with friends and absolutely loved it. Great food, friendly and charming service, lovely atmosphere, definitely a restaurant to visit again and again :)
M. P.
I visit the Cafe today , lovely atmosphere, food was delicious. Definitely I will be back there and big well done for Alex who was serving us, excellent customer service. Well done ❤❤
C. M.
Staff are great, seating needs replacing very uncomfortable and most of the food was look warm. If I had been on my own I would have sent it back but with a friend so left it be.
F. K.
Was welcomed by a lovely gentleman, clean and welcoming restaurant, menu looked promising but the food was unfortunately mediocre.
M. F.
The Wellington and wine were delicious. Great service and atmosphere!
J. B.
We had a great evening last night. Thank you Rumeysa and Alex for looking after us on our Anniversary.
T. C.
Excellence service. Nice atmosphere. Beef Wellington is amazing

Breakfast was 10/10, as was the service - great option for Ealing

Friendly service does not make up for average food at inflated prices. Will not return.
M. D.
Amazing place, friendly staff and great food. Absolutely recommended!

Amazing place, lovely staff and delicious food! Recommended!

Average food, I am pretty sure Gordon Ramsay would dislike the food

Chef went really out of his way accommodating my little request.
Amazing cocktails by Maggie.
