Excellent find. Was amazed by the choice, taste and portion of the breakfast. Friendly service too. I urge you all to try this place for a good and tasty breakfast. We had the shakshuka and the toasted brioche.... Delicious.

6 stars for this little gem? In short the burgers were large and full of flavour, with a large portion of fries and interesting salads. I would have paid more for the large portion size and food quality we received. I saw the pasta dishes too, which were also huge! Great customer service too. Only issue was it can get a bit chilly. I shall definitely return. Specific food: I ordered the chicken & chorizo burger. My friend ordered the ultimate burger (one of the days specials). Both required a knife and fork to eat - the chicken was not dry and the beef in the ultimate burger melted in your mouth. They came with an interesting salad which included avocado, bell pepper, cucumber and pomegranate. I couldn't forget the huge portion of chips (I opted for sweet potato fries - worth it).

A delightful spot for lunch, plenty of outdoor seating available so is ideal for current government guidelines. A wide variety of sandwiches, breakfasts, hot drinks and smoothies available all reasonably priced. Friendly staff who provided a good service, definitely recommend and we will be back again.

The best place ever. Welcoming friendly staff, great atmosphere, fantastic food cooked fresh, generous portions..... What more can one ask for. Michael cooks a mean steak burger and a chicken and chorizo burger. I'll order either one whenever I go there and am never disappointed. Hats off.

Pleasant Coffee but served yesterdays Croissant! Nice friendly place I would have given it a higher rating but served a slightly dry stale Croissant from the previous day's batch (Would've been soft if fresh) and also served with a weird Blue toilet napkin? Apart from that a nice ambience.

Small intimate restaurant with both in and outdoor tables. Great staff who are attentive without being intrusive. The a small menu with quality choices, the chef cooks to a really high standard with simply the best calamari I have found in the UK. Portion sizes are very good, when we order take there is always leftovers for the next day. it is a great little Italian restaurant and well worth a visit, you will most definitely want to return.

Went here for the first time yesterday for a late lunch thanks to other reviews, was not disappointed! The staff were really friendly and kind, the food was delicious and the cost was very reasonable with big portions. The calamari in particular was so good! Loved the side salads too, it had artichoke, olives, sun-dried tomato, roasted courgette etc. Wonderful. It's not local to me but I'll definitely be back!

Went to Carpe Diem in Whetstone today (first day after lockdown) for a late breakfast, sitting outside. The staff were lovely. The vegetarian breakfast was a real feast and came with toast and tea....all for £7.50. Beautifully cooked and a large plateful of food. Best value for money ....anywhere. A not so hidden gem anymore! I’ve been eating in and getting takeout from here for years. Personal fave is their chicken burger and their chicken meatballs with spaghetti Napoli! Reasonable prices too but be prepared to wait for a table!

I had a late lunch at the café and the place was very busy. Despite that the service was attentive and the staff were super friendly. I ordered myself a large breakfast with a coffee. The food came out promptly and the breakfast was excellent; a full plate of food, very fresh and nicely cooked. I am typically on a fairly tight budget and the prices here were very reasonable. Visited Carpe Diem today for mums birthday. She was 99. There were 10 people but I had mistakenly told Maria there were 8 of us. She immediately saved another table for us where two of the bigger children sat together. I love going to Carpe Diem as it’s very sociable, friendly and all the staff are lovely. I absolutely love coming here. The food , especially the calamari salad, pasta bolognese and the penne is an absolute delight. It's tasty, big portion in size, so you get a good value for your money. You can also treat yourself to the chef's home made carrot cake which I must say tops any carrot cake I've eaten in a supermarket or restaurant that I can remember. The staff are amazingly welcome, polite and friendly. I'm guaranteed excellent customer service at all times. It definitely the best cafe in the area and I would highly recommend.

Every weekend we have come here as a ritual as the food is on another level. Perfect for brunch. Nowhere in North London will you find somewhere as reasonably priced for the volume of amazing Italian food that you'll get. I have been coming here for a few years now. It’s honestly the best place for food in the High st... Food: You usually get huge and tasty portions for a good value of your money. Which is quite on the contrary to most places you go to eat (small tasteless portions and expensive!) I always get the penne or calamari salad which is a delight! Service: The level of service is always excellent- Michael and the girls are lovely and will always serve you with a willing smile - There is lots of competition around the area but I assure you , you won’t be disappointed.

After encountering some rather disappointing culinary options in Totteridge, which shall remain nameless, I was keen to try this place out when it came recommended. And it did not fall to disappoint on any level. From the delightful Bacon & Egg Brioche I ordered one morning to the extremely generously sized Chicken & Chorizo salad, everything has been thought about from the quality of the fresh produce through to the detailed presentation on the plates. Owner Michele clearly runs a tight ship and has a very welcoming team who always ensure you are looked after. A vibrant atmosphere also makes this is an unmissable cafe stop!
