Reviews of Colbert
M. M.
Popped in for a quick lunch, the Côte de boeuf was very nice however the portion size seem smaller than expected quite thin. Duck confit was ok, duck seemed a little on the dry side. However the orange braised endives were very nice.
R. M.
Entertaining pictures on the wall, great atmosphere, very attentive & friendly staff, down to earth food done brilliantly, probably the best ham omelette I’ve ever had!
P.
Looks like old paris rich bistro that must have been really popular in the 70’s 80’s which is what you are looking for if you go to Colbert. I didn’t try much of the food and will certainly go back as the staff and the atmosphere were really enjoyable.
Loved having at the bar quite some time with a good old fashioned. The madeleines were savoury and tasty and the eggs royale were also really beautiful when they arrived.
I will recommend if you miss france in London or if you are looking for a piece of france in london
K. P.
I really like this place. So traditional, feels like proper Paris. I like the ambience, cutlery, choice of wine is quite good. And as with many places in London, recommend to book in advance :)
M. J.
Like being in Paris for 90 minutes. Great buzzy atmosphere like how you find a French style brasserie to be. Nice attentive service done properly and of course great food. Top place and thoroughly recommended.
M. M.
I simply love it. Nice lively spit. French touch. Good drinks.
N. D.
Pop up bar in Sloan Square. Small range of wines and Crepes served at table outside.
A. A.
If you visit and haven't had the onion soup, you've done yourself a massive disservice.
Outstanding food supported by excellent service. Don't expect to walk in and be seated during peak hours and seasons; do make a reservation and come with an appetite.
High quality French cuisine is easy to associate with a large bill and a fair amount of pretense, especially when it's a facsimile of the real thing. If you find yourself in the area, treat yourself to Colbert and enjoy the genuine article. The cost is reasonable enough you may fancy bringing a mate too.
J. W.
The duck confit was fall off the bone good, but a little too fatty, felt a little gross after. Delicious cheesecake.
s. g.
Le Colbert is a very classy 'brasserie Parisienne', pricey but worth it. The service is just as good as the menu and food portions are on the generous side. Always worth a visit when you are near Sloane Square but it's a good idea to book ahead!
V. R.
Excellent place who loves classic London. Character interior, good food and the most important thing - the same pre-pandemic staff, familiar faces. No tourists, most of the customers are locals. Superb!
m. X.
Colbert is a nice place and relaxing. The food was really good and full of flavours. The staff were nice and welcoming. I would definitely go back again.
A. M. C.
Great food. Good wine. Relaxed, unhurried lunch. Friendly service. Would certainly go back soon.
E. C.
My partner booked this place for my birthday dinner as it allowed dogs. The food did not disappoint. Oysters were fresh, escargots were tasty and my lobster was delicious. The octopus looked and smelt amazing and so was the steak. I couldn’t fault this place for food however, as we had our dog with us we could not dine in the restaurant which is understandable but the seats in the bar area was very tight and really wasn’t comfortable at all. We got the car seats which isn’t uncomfortable but I can’t stretch my legs without hurting my partner and there was just not a lot of room and it was very hot. They also didn’t offer to take our coats (not sure if it’s because we were seated in the bar area or not) but due to tight space we really had no where to put it. One of the managers came to offer water and a treat for Louis which was really nice. All in all, it was a good restaurant and food was amazing. Would def come back.
F. W.
Delicious menu. Wonderful attentive service and beautiful people everywhere you looked.
S. F.
Only rich people can travel outside of their own country so I am passing out 5 star reviews to random businesses in random cities in random countries. Here you go. Keep up the good work and food that I a lowly peasant can only imagine you must have.
R. D. O.
Good food. Good service. Great location.
T. M. M.
It is usually lively, good ambience, and the food is nice, but not outstanding.
H. P.
Oh what a wonderful place to go for a breakfast!!!! It's like travelling all of a sudden to Paris. The food is really French. The café crème high quality. We noticed a slight inconsistency in the service but William -a very kind and efficient waiter- was always around to save the day!!! Brilliant, Colbert and Colbert again!
A. K.
Gorgeous restaurant , interiors are fantastic. But the food is average need more menu items and the staff were not that helpful
B. C.
Second time I have been here. Beautiful decor, buzzy atmosphere, excellent service and waiting staff, appetising menu. Onion soup and confit de canard were delicious and the parfait too.
A. Y.
Dropped in for a last drink before going home. Extensive wine list, authentic French atmosphere, good service however closed at 11.00 otherwise would have given 5 stars
F. J.
Whilst the restaurant was full, they fitted us in at the bar and the whole experience was very good. Food and service are excellent.
H. F.
Proper classy joint, expert staff, gourmet cuisine and a great atmosphere. Popular location though, so you probably will need to book ahead though they can be accommodating about walk ups, including the ability to have a drink at the bar until a table is free.
F. W.
Excellent French food by London standards. Service has gone downhill in recent years, which is most unfortunate.
D. S.
Lovely service nice coffee great location
Thank you !
K. M.
We were caught in the rain and sat outside under a canopy but at least we were dry. The young man who waited on us was very pleasant and helpful recommending a real mint tea for myself which turned out to be very moreish. In factI had two. I can't comment on the inside but if all the staff were as pleasant and helpful it must be good.
F. K.
Always a bit of a scrum to get in here unless you've booked in advance. However, the taste tatin is absolutely amazing - probably one of the best in London! Worth a visit.
T. m. I. s.
Had a great lunch there today! We hadn't booked and it was very busy but the lovely staff found us a table as soon as they could and we were served promptly. Well done, Colbert's!
P.
Service and staff are amazing. Perfect food quality.
R. B.
Interesting and tempting menu with escargot, steak tartare, excellent Veal Escalop and super moules. The desserts are great with French classics from tarte tatin and mousse au chocolat to coupe liegeois. Nice atmosphere. Sit at the front and watch the world go by in Sloane Square. Can't beat it.
J.
First time I've visited but I would definitely return. The staff were very friendly whilst remaining professional. It's true that you pay a bit more here but the quality of the food and service makes it worthwhile.
N. S.
A famous French bresarie in the middle of Chelsea, by Sloane Square, serving traditional French dishes alongside British and Continental dishes. Great atmosphere and vibes, great for a sitting with your loved one over a glass of wine - sparkling or a Rose. Have tried the escargot- wasn't that impressed - other dishes looked pretty mouthwatering
G. B.
I love Colbert! Always treated So well! Food delicious. Charming staff! A really good experience...every time. Thank you.x
J. O.
Been here more times than i can remember and never left a review. It feels like going home when youre there. staff remember you, greet you like an old friend. Food and drink is excellent as always.
T. O.
Excellent Staff , Great champagne and food.
C. S.
Colbert continues to provide consistently good food and excellent service from morning to quite late at night. (Your food bill might be more than you had been expecting.) But just think of the enviable location.
The Parisienne Art Nouveau decor remains undimished throughout, but for my eyes it's just really too dim these days, which can mean straining you eyes to capture details.
K. M.
Lunch review: salad was very mediocre, does not match the price. My waitress was not friendly at all: I asked what can she recommend as I have never been to a place, she asked me in a rude way what I want (me at, fish) and after I responded that I wanted fish she said "What fish?" Which was very confusing. After I ordered a salad with chicken I got salad without chicken...
So I decided that maybe I should not leave tips but guess what - it is already included in a bill!
Will not come back again probably.
J. H.
This is such a great bistro. The food and service is excellent and the decor well curated.
S. O.
Food was delicious, waiters were very professional however the bar staff was kind of rude. Overall good!
N. D.
Excellent food, shame the waiter guy said he'd arrange table for us if we'd have a drink at the bar, we'd already waited forty five minutes. He then forgot us so we had to chase him up and he looked at us like he'd never set eyes on us until that moment!! Then he rolled his eyes and suddenly remembers us. The two waitresses who eventually looked after us were fantastic. The barman whispered name escapes me. Bulgarian he said, lives Eltham was beyond fantastic. Thanks guys, you saved the day from the idi......
S. C.
What a fantastic restaurant. Superb food, excellent service and wonderful ambience. We would definitely go again.
T. M. N.
Thoroughly enjoyable ambiance. Popped in for a table for 1, staff were courteous, food was great, would one back 😋
F. F.
Fancy place for a fancy breakfast. Well dressed staff and people.
Not a cheap breakfast. Beautiful interior design - french restaurant
E. G.
Last night dinner was just A pleasure
Beautiful french style designed place, Great french cuisine
Stuff extremly nice.
I had Very Good Time, loved The fish 💫☺️😋
G. G. S. 2.
A fantastic looking place with great decor and more, I was greeted by a lovely (Irish I believe) young lady at the front door who was more than happy to help.. Initially I needed the loo for my son but ended up returning for food and drinks.. A great service and one definitely not to be missed.. I did try a bar around 3 to 4 mins away to use the toilet but was rudely told to go else where. I'm so Glad they were rude..
F. G.
Authentic French cuisine in London
S. H.
I am not usually a fan of French cuisine but this was divine. I ordered the Eggs Florentine and it was the best egg meal I have ever eaten in my life. I found myself consciously savouring each bite and trying to make it last longer. My friend ordered a salad which was like no salad I have ever tried before. It was all shredded so each bite contained everything so it was full of flavour. Both meals took me by surprise, in the best way possible. Along with the food, the service was grade A. I definitely felt like a VIP and will be returning
M. A.
A great French restaurant with delicious and high quality food. Very friendly staff and good prices at Chelsea.
F. A.
Excellent place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Their outdoor seating along with the view of Sloane Sqaure is the best!
C. G.
Nice cosy cafe. Very posh. Need a reservation at peak times. Good access from Sloane Square tube station.
A. J.
The food was good and the staff was helpful but we were told that we need to leave after 90 minutes although we came for a birthday dinner and it was Thursday and the restaurant was half empty. We only finished our food and drinks after 2 hours and left a completely empty restaurant- really don’t understand why they had to nag us about the 90 min limit so much.
S.
Fantastic place full of French culture and once you are in there you are totally in France. The food is great and tasteful
E. C.
The service was overshadowed by the crowd, which was enormous but quick with a sense of humour. They'd manage a large number of customers from the front door to the back table, and the service was excellent. Thank you for your time and consideration. God bless you all. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
S. L. C.
Consistent quality of food, good atmosphere. Easy choice for lunch or dinner
J. C.
Excellent location and dog friendly! The steak tartare and the spinach gruyere tarte. Great wine selection by the glass.
h. u.
So nice place to get early coffee and tea with croissants
Also very kind staff
C. S.
They have all range of drinks. The aesthetic is very classic, a bit of early XX century vibes. It is dog friendly. They have Mocktails and non-alcohol drinks. Very recommended if you want to hang out in Sloane Square.
A. M.
This is a busy yet pleasant brasserie, serving French-style food. There's the added bonus of being able to see some real characters amongst the clientele. It's a bit pretentious while not offering a genuine sophistication. But this also makes a visit there an amusing and thus enjoyable experience.
C. K.
Love this place! It’s located at my favourite square in London, has excellent service and the food is lovely. I love to come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
D. D.
Had breakfast at this place. Always full so best to make a reservation. Their pancakes are highly recommended. Their matcha smoothie with dates were to die for. Nice place.
W. H.
Feels very nostalgic. Food was interesting and very filling. Service varied among different staff but generally very friendly.
H. S. S.
Lovely café and eating place in the center of London. High standards in food and drinks as well as in service. Beautiful and chilled area on top of it.
j. o.
Was on a visit from Dublin. Had a lovely evening. Great food and service. Thank you. Will visit when I'm in London again. Jan
S. P.
Good service, great lunch selection. Make sure you book if going for lunch, as it gets busy.
M. M.
I had breakfast here. I love the decor, and the staff are very attentive. You get a choice of newspapers. I had eggs royale and an almond croissant, which I've never had before and was delicious (why didn't anyone tell me about almond croissants?).
J. v. V.
It was excellent! Great service, great food, best croque monsiour I have ever tasted! Good coffee!
J. B.
The sorbet we had seemed ro be microwaved and slightly burnt on the bottom, however, it was nice.
E. T.
One of my favourite spots for brunch and afternoon tea! Their eggs benedict and florentine are super delicious and so is their Crème Brûlée! Such a beautiful interior, too! Also, great spot for people-watching on weekends! Lovely people, too!
L. C.
Fabulous atmosphere, great service and food. My favourite place to eat :)
S. O.
Great French bistro in the middle of Chelsea. You feel taken back to the 1930s! White cloth on the table for lunch and food served all day. Café crème just like in Paris. 😉 For the ladies: the restroom, Dow stairs is quite something too!
D. S.
Very expensive. However the service is very good and the place is fascinating.
G. M.
Super spot from brekfast to dinner and last drink. Very fancy
J. B.
A very good everyday French bistro... quality food in a fabulous location.
S. A.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food and one of the best beers around. The artwork here is amazing especially the men’s bathroom
D. H.
Service a bit languid, but we were in no hurry. Not cheap, but the food was excellent, and being flower show week it was packed for a monday night. Go on, treat yourself!
B. O.
Visited here for a nite cap as it was late lots of people were still dining good atmosphere
Staff very considerate .will be back for brunch some day.
M. A.
Great food, great service, ordered eggs on top of muffin ginger tea
M. G.
Great service, fresh food. Nice views
3. N. M.
Busy, popular French cafe. Good choice menu at reasonable prices for central London. They have a good gluten free offering.
P. S.
Brilliant French cuisine. Lots of French patrons. Superb cocktails. Like being in France.
P. B.
Nice breakfast. Service was good but not exceptional.
K. E.
Lovely French style restaurant. Tasty food, good wine, great service. Can get Eggs Benedict all day long.
F. T.
Loved this place excellent food. Very pretty restaurant and friendly staff
N. S.
Delicious food. Quick service. Very friendly staff.
I. A.
One of their good restaurant in the area you can enjoy their food as well as their service
A. G.
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff!
B. T.
Tucked in and tidy, nestled into Sloane square, this French offering boasts a handful of delights and a host of beverage options for the puckered picking. The menu options are limited, albeit understandably so easing up after a long Covid lockdown. The majority of the selection is targeted strongly toward wine connoisseurs, with one lonely beer option, and an eclectic mix of french dishes. Modest meal appeal and improper wine presentation aside, our waiter was patient and effective, with the main entrees ultimately holding the overall experience back. While enjoyable, the area boasts a myriad selection of similar offerings, executed on par and above with a bit less wallet crunching.
Q.
Very nice decor (French bistro style) + excellent, friendly service. Cosy atmosphere at reasonable prices.
T. B.
Food always reliably good. Romantic late lunch spot.
H. A. L.
Great French cuisine at solane square , reminds me of Paris and it's charming winter evenings
M. H.
Amazing atmosphere good Food hasnt changed in years!! 😍
P. R.
Been coming for years.
Brilliant traditional french restaurant with the best service and excellent food.
L. M. (.
Lovely brasserie and good service
Food was great
J. E.
Had a very good meal and the service was excellent.
C. M.
Excellent, very attentive service. They were accommodating when we asked to sit outside (seating us inside initially but promptly moving us outside at the first available opportunity, once a table became available). A great spot for business meetings. Beautiful décor inside with large tables and enough space for good adherence to social distancing guidelines. Regularly sanitised, with thorough health checks on entry. The ambiance both inside and especially outside is divine, with a lovely view across Sloane Square!
S. F.
Having been to a lot of bistros in London. This place sits high up there. Staff are always extremely welcoming.
Great waiting area with the bar before heading in.
The vibe and decor are very cool and it’s very original.
Great wine and food on each visit I’ve been here. We’ve even been here with friends that have allergies and the staff have been very accommodating.
M. S.
Nice 👍France restaurant delicious 😋 menu I recommended.
R. S.
Awesome food and service. Highly recommend 👌
C. H.
Great spot to sit and watch the world go by. Sat next to some northerners (friendly people) and had a fabulous chat. Staff friendly and great service.
A. G.

Love Colbert - have for years - drinks at the pop up last night in the Square were fun!
N. N.

Y. F.
A little piece of Paris on Sloane street
M. M.
Great vibe, great staff and they remember my name after 15 years... Wow! Forgot how I missed it. ❤️
D. B.
Delicious food, efficient staff and lovely atmosphere.
A. W.
Beautiful venue and great food and service.
I. R.
Nice place. Clean and sofisticated. Friendly hostess. Waiters too busy to be friendly. Tasty Eggs Royal. Expensive but nice!
M. K.
Food is alright, not the best. However the place and atmosphere is great.
S. T.
Great Service, perfect spot for a drink with a friend
A. W.
Outstanding service and very courteous staff the kind you rarely see at any European restaurant these days. Menu has plenty of choices for all tastes, food quality is appropriate, ambience is old school trendy. Breakfast crowd is very different from the dinner clientele and thus seems a popular hangout for a variety of tastes.
D. K.
Staff vague and rushed to finish up before lunch started by staff
A. M.
Very pleasant, friendly and helpful service and good food. Interior design attractive and welcoming. Menu with plenty of choice, also a fixed price menu which was good value.
A. K.
Classy but pricy - great service
T. T. T.
We dropped in unexpectedly and they made an effort to give us a table. As we were seated , Hugh Grant passed by us and gave a cheeky smile. He apparently loved the food. The atmosphere was exciting but still intimate. Definitely pop in !
L. A.
One of my favourite restaurants in Central London. Always a little wait if you don't book, but you can sit at the bar and have a drink. The staff are very kind, the service is always good. The food is delicious. A classic place for French cuisine. Always leave satisfied :)
D. K.
Hit the sunny outdoor sitting area!
F. S.
Service and atmosphere were lovely, but the price for what you get doesn't match up for me. The food was fine, but apart from pudding nothing truly memorable. I did enjoy it and if you are in the area with cash to splash then go. But you are primarily paying for style and location.
E. M.
Reliably high quality and excellent service as usual.
N. S.
As usual Colbert was amazing. Great service, lovely breakfast, quality tea, and immaculately clean. More than that, good VFM too.
One thing they could improve : bring back the Chelsea buns!
A. G.
We were there this morning for breakfast and was really lovely, very good service, good coffee and very good food
I. Y.
The food was good, especially the soufflé Swiss, the service could be better
S. H.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food and service
M. A. Q.
Great Coffee shop for breakfast and Afternoon tea.. you can enjoy its authentic and classic atmosphere.. enjoy having the Benedict and Royale with Salmon..
A. D.
Superb service, polite and professional, very authentic French style. The menu was very well put together with simple yet ample options. For brunch we had the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious. The yolks could have been slightly runnier but that is more my personal taste. Delicious black coffee served in a pot so we were able to have a few cups each which was fantastic. I would love to return for the enticing dinner menu
B. L.
Colbert is one of my favourite bistros in London. Atmosphere is busy and the clientele does tend to consist of well heeled folk. The interior harks back to yesteryear, the service is on point and of course the food is in my view top notch. Expect fantastic French comfort food with a great wine and cocktail selection. It is on the pricey side but this is to be expected being one of the most popular restaurants on Sloane Square.
M. D.
Best breakfast ever. They offer a nice menu for brekfast including boudin noir (not black pudding). Freshly squeezed juices, eggs, sausages, pancakes... everything was delicious and the staff super professional and nice. We will definitely be back to try their lunch and dinner menus. Booking is highly recommended.
J. V. d. V.
Allways, always fabulous!
P. L. C.
Venison Pie special was lovely. Front of house staff were welcoming and friendly. Service was great. Chocolate Mousse was huge, but very light. Good value.
F. F. H. M.
Amazing restaurant and service , food Specially veal Milanese 😋.. finally cheesecake .
D. T.
Great service. Very friendly waiters that give suggestions if one is unsure of what they'd like. It's an accessible restaurant that one doesn't need to book, just usually turn up and be seated. Friendly for children too with colouring supplied. Bright and airy atmosphere, an uplifting venue to eat and socialise.
G. K.
Five stars because: We arrive in the morning for breakfast without reservation, and despite the fact that the place is full, they still go out of their way to accommodate us and in a really friendly way. Breakfast arrives and it is simply wonderful, above and beyond what we were expecting. Immaculate presentation in a cosy and friendly atmosphere.
We will definitely be going back.
M. P.
Absolutely lovely atmosphere, and incredibly helpful staff. The perfect place to have a quiet coffee, a get-together with friends or a business meeting.
No matter what your need, the staff are happy to help immediately. My first choice every time!
C. G.
Good food and wine list. I can recommend the trout. Service was good, and the place had a nice ambience. Clear links to the theatre next door gives it its own distinct character. A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday lunchtime.
A. H.
Very good service and food!
M. T.
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Classic French bistro style food, nice place to be inside and helpful staff. A Chelsea staple.
T. B.
Quite simply delightful. Really traditional service (with genuine manners; attentive but not intrusive), excellent quality food and drink and a sumptuous ambience. Colbert is always an absolute delight to visit.
We have even, once, come here for breakfast, then coffee and stayed seated for a long lunch. It's so hospitable and welcoming that it seems a home from home.
Some of the menu is more French orientated than we are used to and it's fascinating to broaden horizons and expand our palates' sophistication.
P. P.
I love having hot chocolate on a cold day as i am not a big fan of teas and coffees, the place was packed and difficult to find seats even for a drink.
It had a good atmosphere inside, staff was very friendly and the service was great too, i was slightly disappointed as i would have preferred my hot chocolate to have been hot.
I would go back to try the food and will let you know what i think...
A. L.
Well Sloane Square certainly has no lack of French brasserie or bistro style restaurants. But the cooking of the Colbert stands head and shoulders above.
Nice stuff we enjoyed include the escargots in an intense green sauce which went well with French bread. The Anrold Bennett omelette is a must try. Duck confit came in a large portion and is somewhat nice.
Very busy restaurant. Must book for any meal.
A. G.
French food in Chelsea. Good dishes and nice staff.
P.
I love the atmosphere here, it's like stepping in to the 1920's and it's generally quite inspiring for those that are creative-minded, looking for some inspiration.
You can also bring dogs inside (the bar area, not the main restaurant) and have a table and food there with your dogs beside you, so it's convenient for locals.
The reason I knocked off two stars is due to the food. It's very hit'n miss. Sometimes it's fantastic, other times it's a total let down but it's always inconsistent, you never really know what you're getting. It's also quite expensive, on par with some top restaurants (you will typically also need to buy a side to go with the main); however, you're paying for the location, the brilliant atmosphere (which is the main highlight for me) and the staff are great too!
I would recommend Colbert, just don't have a high expectations for the food.
That way, if the food is mediocre you won't be too disappointed, but if it's great you'll be delighted.
G. W.
Lovely traditional breakfast at Colbert.
I. S.
Not sure how some reviews on here describe the service as amazing. My fiance and I came here on a Sunday morning. There was a lovely table for two at the back of their restaurant. It was quite busy. One waitress bumped into me without apologising which I thought was very rude!
We then wanted to ask for tap water midway through our brunch and the waitress had a smirk on her face - it must be because we didn't want to pay for their £4 bottled water.
The eggs benedict was nice but Cote does it better, and for £10 cheaper!
Also were charged a table fee of about £4 because apparently this was an extra area they used to seat us...
Conclusion: Expensive, rude/ill mannered staff and food is better at Cote!
J. B.
Ouff. Amazing location, decent inside but not the greatest of experiences. The fish I head was quite tasteless. And with a price-tag. The service was good, however. Proves that the UK is really the wrong country to eat fish unless you get it from billingsgate/have it covered in batter
F. G.
High end and expensive. The food is very good and the atmosphere is amazing, almost like being in Paris. Even the bathrooms are spectacular. I would definitely recommend it. Expect to spend around 50£ per person if you want to eat well.
D. R.
Location, staff, food, atmosphere excellent
C. W.
Great night had by all food and service excellent as always
S. M.
It's got a fantastic atmosphere, and our party of five had no complaints about the quality. The only issue was that me and my uncle ordered winter beers which were off-menu, which turned out to be rather pricy comparatively, so we will know to ask the price of the specials next time.
S. D.
Not been here for 20 years, nice to see its retained it's charm and style over that time. Lovely breakfast. They have a phone charging service, which is cool. Just don't forget your phone!
L. H.
Pretty place - I ordered a glass of wine without checking the menu and it was £15! Others are more reasonably priced. Nowhere to sit if you just want drinks but great service for supper.
C. T.
Tasty but exceedingly expensive. Snack and a drink for two came to over £60 so be cautious if that matters to you. There decor is excellent and the service is good, if a little snobby (as you expect for this kind of price tag). The croque madame was delicious, but was it 5 times better than a regularly proceed cheese toasty? Hard to say but it was certainly 5 times more expensive. Three coffee, however, was great value. An order of a black coffee summoned up a small pot (enough for there cups) a mint and a shot glass of water for afterwards, and the coffee was delicious.
A. A.
Lovely service and food as always
B.
Great buzz here and good for people watching /spotting, but the restaurant is not exceptional - really rather average fodder/ service..... But great location and at least you can hear each other unlike several places around Sloane Square!!! The bar is fun for quick drink and possibly a nibble.
F. o.
Always a fab place to visit, tables outside are the best
J. G.
The best! 10/10
S.
Great convivial atmosphere once you are able to get reservations. Very difficult to get in lunchtime. Friendly staff and good service if you are let in. Great atmosphere in prime location. Good crowd and up market clientele. Some food dishes are really substandard and very overpriced. An example is a very un fresh, thin end cut seabass and overcooked tiny scallops!! This dish was not at all enjoyable nor looked great. Excellent tarte citron though. Came out unsatisfied.
L. A.
Colbert is like the brasserie in France that you often go to. It is neither spectacular nor disappointing and everybody finds something. For coffee or dinner, for its lovely terrasse and staff managed by the very friendly yet super professional Manager, this is the top of mind in the area. Nice wine selection and a super crowded bar - because it is clearly one of the best in the neighbourhood- the atmosphere is never dull.
French traditional food yet, a menu that will satisfy any personal Preferences, Colbert is a convivial place that makes you feel good. You leave willing to come back
K. J. M.
Food was delicious but the bar service was even better! Fantastic drinks and top notch service! Thank you. Will be back!
v.
Staff at Colbert do their job to the highest standard. One is always made to feel special and welcome. Food & wine good, the atmosphere reminds me of old Paris and the location is very convenient. Dogs are welcome too.
J. R.
Great food, clearly made with skill. Ordered the tarte tain and profiteroles. Apples in tarte tatain were soft as butter, slightly burnt for added flavour. Profiteroles simple but done well. Nice ice cream and soft pastry to boot
H. S. W.
Great atmosphere ,friendly ,good food
Needs more vegetarian selection !
R. N.
I guess there is always a premium to be paid for a swanky joint like this, and it is no wonder i am an infrequent visitor as it really is expensive, but typical of an area like Sloane Square. I can't say I've sampled much on the menu, but then it is priced higher than my usual choice of restaurant, but the superfood salad was good although the portion suspect. If you're after exclusivity and something altogether civilised then it may well be to your liking.
T. D.
This is my favourite restaurant in the world. Good value food. Great quality food. Amazing service. Wines are great (even house wine delicious... Especially the white) and it is obviously well managed.
Book in advance for lunch. It's very popular.
J. F. G.
Fare representation of france in london. The duck confit and table of cheese are delicious.
T. D.
Still glowing from fantastic meal last night: friendly, knowledgeable staff, lovely wine and faultlessly delicious food. My "country cousin" loved it. Colbert may not thank me for saying this but the portions are so generous that if you have starters, you could easily share a main. Big helping of delicious pudding too. Will definitely be back. Thank you!
A. M.
Unlike poor old Kirsty
who recently had such a bad experience.
I was very happy to be introduced to your wonderful establishment by a South African friend who is used to enjoying the better things in life without ever needing to be pampered.
Wonderful welcome and excellent service. Thank you for your professionalism.
M. W.
We were staying nearby & wanted to try somewhere different for a meal. We had a very nice meal, onion soup & salmon. Both very good sized servings. Wine rather pricey. Service very good and speedy.
J. H.
Oh, how I miss France. But visiting Colbert's has helped to keep me going! Lovely!
A. W.
Absolutely first class place. Attentive service from friendly staff who really seem to enjoy being there. Food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and decor. A little bit of Paris in London with surprisingly reasonable prices. Definitely coming back
G. S.
I love it. Friendly and welcoming
M. S.
Love this place. The breakfasts are superb, as is the steak Diane, the Tartare (although now coarser hand cut which is bit as nice) and much more. Great service, lovely decor, beuatiful tables, nice clientele. Really superb all round
A. M.
Excellent beers, albeit only two to choose from. Nice cosy ambiance inside and the food is very good. I've been three times now and I've always enjoyed it.
M. B.
Excellent food, good value, with friendly and attentive staff but not overly intrusive. Very helpful when we needed to delay our table by half an hour, nothing seemed too much trouble. Would recommend.
M. E.
Such a spoil. Polite, quick service. Would have given 5 but I had to remind them to bring my coffee. Breakfast served but no drink appeared. I always start my day at Colberts when I visit London.
M. B. T.
What can one say about Colbert that isn't already known?
Simple, brutally classic French food served with the added sparkle of a chance encounter with Gary Barlow or some other famous figure. All do a price of course
K. B.
I am a fan of the Corbin & King restaurants, and am a regular patron. It is a good formula. Today, however, my porridge (served with granola - hmmm) at Colbert was absolutely disgusting - lukewarm gruel with granola sprinkled on top. Really? Come on guys - you can do much better than that! Has anyone in the kitchen ever tasted it? Clearly not.
P. P.
One of the best restaurants to enjoy a lunch meal. The service is outstanding. Been a customer for three years now and I always get the same outstanding service and delicious food.
D. C.
A Sloane Square fixture and place to be seen. It's not cheap but the food is good and the service slick.
T. A.
Great location. Food is mediocre but super accomodating staff especially when one doesn't have a reservation. Recommended for breakfast mostly or a quick drink at the bar as can get extremely busy and loud especially with kids and dogs.
o. O.
Lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff and fantastic food! What more can one ask for
t. b.
If there something that I do.not like about Colbert is the continuous fuzz hanging over there all day long.
I known some people might like it but this constant buzz in your ears is knackering.
The rest is perfect : great food, Great menu, plenty of choices for cocktails and deserts.
Ideal for a coffe break or a meteor pint.
However as I already said, if you like to get out of the Bistro with a constant whistle in your ears this is defo the place for ya.
Heart of Chelsea innit?
4 stars for Colbert.
D. K.
Cannot fault The Colbert Its is expensive but its also great value.Added to which London welcomes an Ace new Greeter .Take a bow Rudi.
Genuine Glaswegian charm.Calm efficiency and a winning smile.
C. K.
A Sloane Square tradition, lovely for a 'lite bite' and a Spritzer after a shop at Peter Jones, get a pavement table to scope the glamorous x-rays and their young paramours. Lovely service, relaxing and chic. Some trade haas been usurped by the nearby Botanist but stick with the trad. Great coffee.
S. V.
Love this place....been a few years since my last visit....not an everyday venue! Enjoyed a couple of great (if somewhat overpriced) Mojitos in the sunshine watching the world go by on Sloane Square. Great place for celeb spotting....didn't catch any this time, but Sir Bob Geldof and Jeremy Clarkson last time made up for it! See you in a year or so! Special shout out to Maria the brilliant reception host....what a star!
T. A. A.
Bustling, classic Parisian-style bistro that keeps humming all day long. Lovely interior with Art Nouveau touches and attractive posters and photographs throughout. Very professional service -they don't let you dawdle but you never feel rushed. The food is tasty, with generous portions, and the breakfast coffee delicious! Great for pre-show dining, with the Royal Court Theatre and Cadogan Hall just round the corner.
J. H.
Liked the Parisian cafe decor and it's a stylish spot on the corner of Sloane Square but that said it's a little sad a part of London as well known as that has no genuine institutions of it's own (imagine a French person coming to visit the much lauded "glamorous" Sloane Square to discover - oh - a mock French cafe).
Food at breakfast felt overpriced - ordinary ingredients cooked competently but really nothing to get excited about. £10 for a simple omelette with cheese and toast? Yes I know it's the location etc etc but when their sister restaurant brasserie Zedel offers similar fare for much less it really feels like lazy profiteering.
Service also a bit unimpressive - my wife ordered one of their juices, when it arrived it the colour looked wrong so she asked them to confirm what they'd brought - they lazily said "it is whatever you ordered". It actually wasn't.
Really could do better.
G. P.
Fabulous lunch at the bar with great people watching and overheard snippets of conversation. I dined on oysters and salad Nicoise. More than one patron inquired what I was having. Enjoyed every bite. Very lively environment, dark wood, black and white tile, and good posters. Bon Appetit.
A. R.
Really good French Brasserie, food is absolutely delicious and service top notch. They often have grilled calamari on their specials board and the sauce they serve with it is out of this world.
A. a.
Amazing onion soup, fab atmosphere, amazing service, I'd go full 5 star
G. V.
Wonderful food and great environment. Service was slightly pretentious which was sad given the fact I was excited for a Father's day lunch. Expensive thought the quality is worth it and the environment is authentically French themed.
F. F.
Nice, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Lovely Bacon sandwich with fried egg on a very nice Bap but the coffee needs to be upgraded as my Flat White wasn't made to spec
V. E.
5 stars for the - unfortunately too often overcrowded - bar but less than 2 for the restaurant. Strangely, this brasserie that is a sister to the almost never wrong, never spectacular yet always consistent and thus great Wolseley - Colbert always is a huge disappointment when it comes to food. The carte is rather common and they even manage to miss the salad due to sad dressing and over the top dressed plate and poor garniture. I have vowed to never eat there but really can't miss the bar and the super cool barmen!!! Overall, a sloane square joint and everything you'd expect of the local crowd that has poor taste and just enjoy the location... a local joint but don't expect culinary wonders, even the basics are not quite met... could do much better but probably, no need to... the place is always full - but maybe this is why it works...
S. M.
My quick-thinking eldest son suggested we go there as we walked very disappointedly out of nearby Polpo because of very loud music. The staff and attention from them were first class at Colbert. We were served chips that were lukewarm. I pointed this out to our waiter, they were removed immediately and within mere minutes new very hot replacements were brought. Maitre'd came to apologise but not required. I'd go here to eat anytime. Shame I'm not in the neighbourhood more often.
D.
Classy joint. Good coffee came with a chocolate and a very small glass of water - nice touch - but glass of water should have been larger ( it was free though ). Excellent cakes and desserts.
M. C.
Good restaurant but food spoilt by cold plates
M. I.
Food is nice, service is good but quite unfriendly with very snotty and a bit of prima donnas which makes the whole experience very unwelcome. Love the fit out and the location. Very pricey.
C. N.
The food was well cooked as always and I had a beautiful bottle of Sauvignon blanc recommended by the serving staff. It was really good and I know because I didn't have a headache the next day.
M. B.
Excellent meal and delightful staff: they provided a surprise pastry for our breakfast with Happy Burthday written in chocolate to honor my wife on her birthday! Who could wish for more. John NYC
C. M.
One of those iconic power meeting zones involving the Eaton Square/ Cadogan Place/ Kings Road mob before heading into Mayfair. The food is French Brasserie and not cheap, the staff alternate between brusque and helpful. A Cafe on the corner of Sloane Square - you should not expect
it to be other than it is.
S. R.
The food delivered did not meet the expectations; steak for main was cold served on cold plate and with no vegetables. Service staff messy, drinks order incorrect and menu knowledge lacking. The Head waiter/Manager was present (with ironic hospitality smile busy with the mobile most of the time) in fact he left our service to one young waiter and seemed disappeared by the end of our meal. We will not be visiting again.
G. A.
A buzzing and smart casual bistro that's definitely considering if looking for a fun restaurant with a great atmosphere. Euro Bistro menu has a lot of my favorites, Oysters, Steak Tartare, Steak Hache, Creme Brulee. Bar in the next room is also a good place to meet.
C. D.
This is a really nice cafe although I suppose its location means it is inevitably going to be more expensive than some other cafes in the area. Their breakfasts are particularly good and being able to read one of their papers added to my positive experience.
H. H.
Great food, really friendly and accommodating staff and they allow dogs! Definitely a firm favourite! The only downside is that the drinks are really pricey but to be honest, they were worth it for the atmosphere.
R. C.
Immaculate offering from Corbin and King as ever, with a more French accent than the rest of their offering. Very good, authentic, unflashy food at a very fair price given it's location and friendly, efficient. Difficult to criticise in the context of what it is trying to do, except perhaps that it's quite noisy when it's full.
M. E.
Such a spoil. Polite, quick service. Would have given 5 but I had to remind them to bring my coffee. Breakfast served but no drink appeared. I always start my day at Colberts when I visit London.
S. J.
Great location. Very popular, excellent food + coffee.
P. P.
I love having hot chocolate on a cold day as i am not a big fan of teas and coffees, the place was packed and difficult to find seats even for a drink.
It had a good atmosphere inside, staff was very friendly and the service was …
J. L.
Great food. Lovely staff. Extremely clean. Perfect location
D. B.
Delicious food. Beautifully presented, excellent vegetables (even if that's a funny thing to focus on). Prices reasonable for the location.
P. B.
Good fun lively place to eat and drink! Well worth a visit
K. 1.
High-end French cafe menu in trio of rooms with art nouveau, art deco and Victorian features.
A. S.
Very nice, French vibe. Everything they made for breakfast was in it's most perfect form, the service was also great!
D. R.
Pricey but worth it, great spot, super cocktails and Meteor beer! Always enjoy grabbing a beer and watching the supercars of Chelsea driving past the window. Always something interesting to see.
K. G.
This busy & chic, cosmopolitan restaurant and bar, make the best "Vespa"cocktails in town.
The bar staff are super friendly and the food, seasonal and good.
Highly recommended!
O. N.
Great atmosphere- always buzzing. Very nice menu, lovely bread and butter to start with. Everything i've always ordered was great. Always look FW to going there when I'm in town.
D. B.
Good food and good vibes, overall an authentic French experience (including the slightly less than ideal French speed of service 😂)
A. M.
Classy French cafe with a very old-school continental feel. Not cheap, but good food and efficient service. I got the impression many of the people there were regulars.
J. S.
Nestled on a corner of Sloan Square, Colbert offers well prepared and presented food, in a warm comforting atmosphere, with polite, friendly staff. The prices are well within what one would expect for Sloan Square and Kings Road.
F. A.
This review is for breakfast ... Solid all around choice for breakfast, ambiance, food and service ... good choice for meetings (business or friends).. prices on the high side of similar establishments
n. h.
Very good coffee, quick service, busy
A. W.
The food here is absolutely amazing. Outside dining is my favorite in the morning to watch people hustle bustle on to start their day. This restaurant is now one of my go to places.
S. V.
Very nice interior, good service, good food, rather expensive but then it is in an expensive area of London. Still, £27 for a bottle of house wine seems a bit steep.
J. K.
Expensive, but authentic.Very few places like this left in London.
J. M.
Food was ok but it was slightly overpriced for what it was. The place lacked a certain charm to allow it claim to be romantic.
M. S.
It seems futile to review a place that is very famous and popular with the locals. But having breakfast here is something that one must try at least once. The English Breakfast only the true Londoners can serve......!
N. M.
At the best corner of Sloane Square in London, this French bistro is very popular, and the few tables outside are there "to see and be seen". Good menu; good service.
A. S.
Very nice, French vibe. Everything they made for breakfast was in it's most perfect form, the service was also great!
Z. S.
Perfectly made bistro grub with very good service. Will go back again. Someone below said they felt transcended to Paris and I really agree.
Z. S.
The food was good, service was slow. Nice atmosphere. I'm not often charged a cover charge for sitting in the dining area of a restaurant, but here's the exception! Almost 2 pounds per person added on.
D. W.
Intensely overpriced with haughty staff.
C. J.
Loved everything about it except being charged a cover charge. We had oysters to start, red and white wine, 2 main courses, 2 desserts AND a dessert wine, so we resented the sneeky cover charge!
M. G.
Excellent front if house, thouroughly enjoyable, can't wait till next time
M. E.
One of my absolute favourite places. Fantastic food and service every time. Really excellent.
a. m.
Nice place food ok.

E. S.
Amazing place and service as always. Thanks Michael for the good service and recommendation on the menu
K. S.
Great place in an amazing location. I loved the pistachio eclair. It is going to be one of my favourite place to have dessert which is really rear to find.
D. L.
Super staff. Excellent tea. Kedgeree looked and smelled delicious. Amusing pictures in the loo... Feels very French. Looks very French. Vive La Colbert!
j. a.
Lovely place, expensive for a 2 coffees and 2 hot chocs but the kids said they were the best hot chocs they'd had and it was a special day out so lovely for a treat!
A. B.
Historic bistro by Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square. Drinks served plus 12.5 per cent service which is a bit steep.
T. W.
Just went on for a coffee, cappuccino and tea - excellent and good service. Very interesting decor - can't wait to come and try the food!
c. c.

U. C.
Tasty, high quality food.....steak, cod and octopus.
Great atmosphere. Good service.
C. Z.
The men behind the Wolsey take over the legendary Oriel cafe and manage to bring back hip and happening eating back to Sloane Square ...the wine list is sensible , the menu is solid and well executed and the location is unbeatable of you want to sit al fresco on a summers day and insult Sloane Rangers ....viva la Colbert!
A. A.
Brilliant service and choice of wine !!
L. D.
Great atmosphere, food and drink was delicious. Service was fab
J. B.

It was like being transported to Paris, the hustle and bustle, and the ambience made us very comfortable, certainly worth a visit.

One of the best in London, you’d never go wrong with any order. The ambiance is nice and the staff are friendly.
P. C.
A must go to place in Sloane Square, which never fails to please...
J. R.
Lovely tea and food, some may argue, not value for money. It is in a great location though
Y. M.
Fun restaurant and bar across from Sloane Square tube. A place favoured by the Belgravia set for a bit of hob nodding.
S. J.
Great location. Very popular, excellent food + coffee.
