Reviews of Colicci Roehampton Gate Café
W. E.
Come here most weekends summer & winter and coffee and cake selection are on point. Hot breakfast deals are great too and when it’s summer the beers or ice cream go down a treat. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and get to know you as regulars. Goes a long way when it comes to repeat business and recommendations in my book. Keep it up 👍🏾
J. M.
Visited today. Had a very tasty Cumberland Sausage Bap & Husband the Vegetable soup with Hot Chocolate Drink & Americano. Highly recommend. Staff friendly & polite. Good service all around.
J. W.
Great pitstop for cyclists! We stopped here halfway between cycling from Kingston Gate to Richmond Gate. The cafe sells great coffee and tasty much-needed carbs - try their spiced chips. Would like to see some salad options when we next visit.
R. A.
A little off putting from the outside but persevere and it is worth the visit. Good food, both hot and cold, tasty cakes and coffee served quickly. Slight down side it is expensive but not worth removing a star as it is in Richmond Park and the quality is good.
G. M.
Handy place for a pit-stop when you are visiting Richmond Park. Make sure you place your order before closing time because they close at 4pm sharp - staff are keen to get home.
A. F.
Pleasant location for a refreshment stop whilst cycling or walking in the Park. The pastries were clearly not fresh and had the consistency of rock cakes. It came as a surprise when a miserable girl behind the counter informed me that Colicci doesn't accept cash payments. I'd welcome another café at Roehampton or even Robin Hood Gate, so visitors have a choice and are guaranteed to get value for money.
K. S.
I visited the Cafe earlier today, and enjoyed the service, nice hot cup of coffee and amazing cake. Will definitely come back soon.
N. S.
Great coffee, food and staff ! It's a good place to take a rest from cycling, walking or running!
A. B.
A decent place to relax after a long cycle with a few benches to relax on + plenty of bike stands. Coffee prices are okay, everything else on the menu is very expensive...
S. W.
Great cafe. Good selection of fresh food a broad selection. Wheelchair and buggy accessible. Friendly staff that are happy to deliver drinks to your table of you have a pushchair. Gets busy at the weekend. Only grumble is that the toilets are in a separate block across the car park and there's no baby change.
S.
Cappuccino + plain croissant: £5.75. Hold on... let me look around? I must have cycled so much that I ended up in Dubai??? It's still Richmond dudes, put your prices down. No surprise that prices of food are not listed. Will bring a £0,75 croissant from Sainsbury's next time! Second addition: it says homemade cakes in their own "patisserie". Oh well, in that case forget what I wrote. There was a French word!! My bad. I should have known that it was posh ;-) (still 6 pounds though eh eh)
K. W.
Friendly , clean , and much needed hot chocolate after a wander through the park land
L. R.
Lovely brownies, good mocha despite what people says. Enjoyed the halloumi wrap!
a. L.
Slightly spenny but that's par for the course due location. It is however complimented by its location and is a great place to enjoy a coffee, have a great selection of pastries, food and ice creams.... They've also got camden hell's on tap so that's great.
J. C.
Pretty good mocha, and the kids enjoyed the deluxe hot chocolate with both cream and marshmallows.
R. I.
We shared a Grilled Halloumi wrap and a falafel wrap, both very tasty.
T. S.
Friendly staff, great coffee, lovely environment - highly recommend :)
A. L. S.
Good iced coffee and one of the best brownies I've ever eaten!! Very fudgy! Recommended stopping after a walk/bike ride.
C. X.
Lovely place and friendly staff. Really nice food and drinks
k.
It was amazing, the service and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend
G. T.
Fabulous brownie!
Loads of cyclists here on Sunday!
D. G.
Great steak baguette and coleslaw. Excellent value for £7.95. Modern airy interior, seating outside in summer. I'm blown away by the improvement in park cafes... long may it continue
T. A.
Nice place for a hot drink but charging £3 for a custard tart is a bit much
J. S.
Really great coffee place which we visit a few times a week when we dog walk and explore the park. Out of all the coffee shops in Richmond Park, we always find for some reason this one makes the best coffee every time.
Always find the girls and guys serving to be friendly given how busy it is and how demanding people can be, so in this current period, they are doing an excellent job.
As always, there is always a down side, and sadly it is the vast number of nobby cyclists who arrive to the coffee shack barking orders rudely at the poor staff like they have just hit the summit of Everest having probably just cycled their dad bods round 5km of the ring road.
Members of staff if you are reading this, ignore the arrogant cyclists talking down to you. You are all doing an amazing job and keeping this coffee shop alive at a very hard time.
J. H.
Off for a walk. This is a good pit stop. Invite your dog.
e. g.
Love this place - always great food and coffee!
M. W.
Used to be so good for coffee, food and staff attitude. Great location, too. Now the food is dry, not deserving of the high prices and the staff a bit hit and miss. Come on Colicci - pull your socks up!
E. t.
A good cafe in Richmond park and a place where many cyclists stop en route.
The food is reasonable as is the coffee - I would be lying if I said this is the best I’ve had but possibly the best cafe in Richmond Park (where there isn’t much competition - but loads of you cycle out of the park).
Definitely a nice place to rest your legs but when you consider the mediocre coffee and rather premium pricing you may not return - unless you legs just need a stretch next time you are in the area.
L. F.
Always a great place to stop by and have a coffee and some food...
N. P.
Very friendly helpful staff. The rosemary salted chips were crisp plentiful and delicious. I think £4.50 for a sausage roll (even take away is too much. Good place to visit.
Z. S.
Nice cafe to have a coffee and sit with friends.
It's close to Roehampton gate so you can use this as a meeting point for friends when entering the park.
They have good coffee, large selection of baked goods, sandwiches, fruits and other food. They also have beer if you are in that kind of mood.
Toilet also available, but it's a good distance from the cafe.
C. M.
Really yummy food and very good coffee
N.
Decent coffee for me and decaf tea for the wife.
Y. G.
Tried the place after a ride as it gets recommended by a lot of cyclists online as "the" Richmond Park coffee place. I don't really understand why, the place is rammed, the coffee was nothing special and the atmosphere wasn't particularly welcoming. Also the covid measures look questionable. Feels a bit understaffed. Great location to meet up though.
S. C.
I love this cyclist friendly cafe. The side kiosk is handy to avoid all the screaming kids found inside the cafe. They cater to vegans too! Here the vegan sausage rolls are good. Will try them next time.
T. M.
Lovely little cafe/coffee shop.wide selection of hot and cold.Great surroundings. A little bit
expensive.
R. W.
This is a great little cafe to stop off and grab a coffee and sausage in a bun if you are out on a bike ride, great service, plenty of space to sit outside. Great place to meet friends.
F. T.
Small cafe catering for visitors to Richmond park serving standard sandwiches and quick snacks with coffee and tea and soft drinks. Staffs are stern face and unsmiling. May be the low season and not too busy reflecting the mood of the cafe. Hopefully it will improve in the spring time.
J. P.
For just a small cafe in Richmond Park, it has absolutely amazing food, vegan options and tasty gluten free brownies!
The staff are so helpful and they put a smile on my face every time I come here.
Very clean interior aswell!
G. J.
Enjoyable place to stop for a snack or bigger, for cyclists, walkers etc. Range of snack foods including salads and cakes. Also a range of burger type food. Excellent sausages bap and bacon baps, the baps having an almost brioche flavour; it works. Pleasant outside terrace with a view of the heathland.
F. F.
Beautiful cafe to chill in after a heavy BMF session out in the park with awesome Be Military Fit instructor’s
L. F.
Delicious crispy chicken wrap, and a hot chocolate that was actually hot! Overfaced by the muffin, was still delicious but my eyes are bigger than my belly. Staff were very friendly also in spite of it being so busy!
g. e.
decent cafe and cyclist hub in Richmond Park.
Overpriced soft drinks and food menu items, and quite average quality. On the other hand, coffee is decently priced, they have their Rosemary chips for £2.50, and free drinking water to refill your bottle. Would not recommend as a destination if you want quality food during your park day, but it has everything cyclists need for a pit stop.
B. A.
Bit over priced ,very nice friendly staff
P. D. S.
Nice little place for a pit stop when your cycling through Richmond park, nice coffee and cakes. My only negative comment is the waiting times are slightly annoying. I waited well over 5 mins just to get a coffee last week (outside cafe).
A.
Really good coffee and cake, better if you rode a bike here. Deffo lock up your bike, I can imagine this is a hotspot for people casually walking away with you ride.
Gets very busy at lunch time, try to get here early as the cake selection dwindles fast. Priorities.
G. C.
Lovely little cafe in the park, prices reasonable for London, great friendly service. Free parking
E. F.
Nice cafe in a beautiful park! A little pricey but it's richmond so that's to be expected, the only thing I would say is that the seating is uncomfortable but only because I was feeding my baby if I wasn't it would be fine for a half an hour stop
K. G.
Lots of seating and a good meeting area for cyclists (just beware the bike thief!). Food and drink is a little pricey for what you get but perfectly fine.
E. H.
Nice place but room for improvement. Delightful location and a good selection of food and drinks. This place is certainly my favourite cafe inside the park. However don’t expect friendly or helpful staff, quality artisan style coffee (it tastes a little burnt) or low prices.
C. T.
Nice little park cafe. Owned by the company that do the cafes in all the royal parks. However this one is nicer than some of the others I've been to. Reasonably priced, however get there early on the weekend as they run out of cake fast!
H. T.
Very friendly staff! Nice range of food and drinks. Tables inside and outside so good to stop off on a walk, run or cycle.
K. D.
Loud music. Prompt friendly service. Nice coffee. Sat outside with crows.
S. S.
Great coffee served at the perfect temperature and friendly service too. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with lively views of the park.
A. C.
Congratulations for being open in these diffic ult times, serving coffee separately from the cafe makes it easier and safer.
G. A. T.
Nice food but not environmentally minded, as all staff automatically give you your hot drink in a paper cup, even when you ask to drink in! Maybe they want to save on washing up...
T. N.
Burger and fries, I like so much.
Good price and good company at the table rsrs
J. K.
Great coffee and flapjack. Friendly location but rather crowded around café and car park
M. G. (.
The beyond meat burger was very good. Pretty tasty fries as well
T. H.
Opens too late and closes too early, particularly during the summer months. It should be a hub for cyclists, runners and walkers in SW London but doesn't deliver. Food and coffee are ok.
P. M.
Have been there a couple of times. Staff are friendly and helpful even on a busy Sunday. The coffee was good.
D. S.
Good location to have a bite to eat after a walk or cycle around the park. Soup was very nice. Rather small so not many seats when busy.
A. P.
Great little pit stop for cyclist and others venturing the park. If one there were no birds looking for their next meal: first world problems eh
L. N.
Make a great machiato and crispy bacon bap, always with a smile too!
R. G.
Both my wife and I had their sandwiches which were superb. I would recommend the Chicken Mayo sandwich. Enjoy!! 😀
N. T.
Lovely coffee and shortbread. We visited late on a weekday and it was fine however I would guess it gets busy when the sun is shining.
E. B.
Was served by A REFRESHING young black woman, who really made my family feel quite at peace after a long journey in steaming Richmond.
M. V.
Great place for a break while at the park, typically full of cyclists. Good range of food ready to eat and made on order with indoor and outdoor seating.
M. W.
This place is fine. Food and drinks are fine, sweets are quite lovely. Tolerable prices. After a long walk on a freezing day it hits the spot.
R. A. (.
Coffee in Richmond Park. After spending some time in the park you will want some refreshments.
Colicci offer vegan options drink and food.
F. L.
Always clean and tidy.can have big queues.big servings and lovely coffee.only thing I would say price wise a bit expensive and cake price for the size that you get way to much money
H. T.
Good food and coffee, but the waiter didn't make much of an effort to look for us and then left our food in the kitchen for 10 mins.
D. M.
Hottest day of the year..so understandably sold out of ice cream (my dog was put out) but great coffee & service in such a beautiful setting...thankyou
A. B.
Decent cafe. Popular with cyclists. Prices don't reflect the stranglehold monopoly they have on Richmond park.
C. B.
Nothing wrong with the food sold, but they dont take cash so they dont deserve my custom
J. P.
Great growing selection of food, both hot and cold. Now also serving alcohol too. Great customer service
L. A. B.
Coffee was OK, snacks a bit pricey and the cue was out the door. Also lots of rubbish on the benches, floor & all around the cafe :(
E. G.
Amazing Bacon Baps!
j. m.
Best Bacon Baps!!
J. M.
Nothing beats this place on a sunny day! Great location and beautiful outside seating area. Food is alright...
J. A.
Never been to a cafe with better ambience; overlooking some really beautiful green hills. Friendly staff.
S. B.
Ashen we went, there were a lot of cyclists as it was a bank holiday. The coffee was very good.
S. S.
Great food and drink, only gripe would be the world's slowest coffee machine serving, inevitably, the world's longest queue!
C. W.
Excellent one of the few places that makes a hot flat white HOT 👍
J. R.
Very friendly cafe, with good food, they also give discounts for ambulance staff in uniform, which is very much appreciated thankyou.
C.
Good coffee but overcrowded on the Sunday, we had to queue for a while to get our drinks.
P. M.
Get your takeaway coffees and rolls inside and skip the quick-kiosk queues...
H. S.
If you want decent coffee at Richmond Park after a ride, this is a good place.
P. K.
Great setting worth great food. Perfect place to end your walk/run.
J. L.
Salads didn't look overly fresh and inviting. Coffee rather weak and of watery taste.
M. B.
Nice little cafe in Richmond park, perfect for a pit stop or to grab that coffee on the go
S. D.
Queue was long and very slow. Food took ages to be ready.
A. C.
I asked a question to one of their staff and he just ignored me. Hot choc was also mostly milk.
N. T.
It's a convenient place to get a cup of tea, whilst passing some time in Richmond Park.
M. B.
Love this place. Great coffee and great location
A. M. J.
Cafe in the middle of Richmond Park. I had a tasty pizza and cider. Nice spot.
