Fantastic place, really love the atmosphere that they're creating, with the little tropical parasols, the paintings on the wall, the music. But then we get to the food, and that's just great. Really tasty, has the "Ropa Vieja" plate and tried also the sandwich, absolutely amazing. And then the cocktails, oh my Lord one tastier than the other, they were so good that you'd seriously be able to continue drinking without feeling anything, because of you're into fruity cocktails, you're in for a treat. The big downside was the waiting times for the food and drinks. Now, while I can understand it for the food (it was quite busy in that moment), I do not understand why it took a solid 20minutes or more for our second round of drinks, ordered when it was visibly less busy, to arrive. Apparently the ladies bathroom could do with some more cleaning, too. Either way, still great experience overall and we'll come again without a doubt

Lovely place super atmosphere. Food is so good. Waiting on staff are working non stop so that causes delays in your food ordering. Ordered a starter to nibble on whilst waiting for our main course and they all came together so we sent back starter back. Saying that we would definitely come again.

It is nicely located in a quiet road very close to Waterloo. Staff is very friendly. Portions are a very good size. It’s not a fancy/chic setting, but if you are looking for a more street food kind of vibe, this place is very suitable. Everything done with the plantain is delicious.

What a great service and food! Overall a great experience. Those drinks are to die for, Piña Colada and Daiquiris freshly made by Mara, love her energy! Kitchen didn’t disappoint and neither the rest of the staff. Shout out to Sara, Erika, Bea, Karen and Luigi! I kept coming the whole week, live music and always a great ambiance. The service was slow to start off with it took 30 mins to take our order. The waitress (Nathalie) was very polite, she was very attentive all night she offered us a table outside after we had been at our table past the 90 minutes. There was delay with the food but everything else was really good

Just outide waterloo station , a quirky cuban restaurant Very colorful. Lots of outdoor seating and space. Music bit too loud and fuzzy for during lunch if u want to catch up with friends.. Caprihanas amazing but v expensive and come in too short of a glass.. Food not that great or fresh..had an okra and veg dish with rice and plantain.

I came in last night with a group of 14 and was met by Loly and her smile. Unfortunately the inside was too jam-packed full of people so we didn’t stay but she quickly saw from my face that I was hungry and took it upon herself to accommodate me very swiftly with a place of to-go food. This place is focused on quick turnaround on the tables. Cubana offers popular drinks, worth using their happy hour offer to get 2 drinks for the price of one.

Ten of us and two babies celebrated my wifes birthday on Sunday afternoon . The staff were very welcoming and attentive always cheerful and happy to assist with anything. I would like to mention in particular Mateus he is bright and happy and never stops smiling. Oh yes and the food was good too . We were allowed to bring our own birthday cake which was nice however there was no cream or icecream available.l am sure had l asked somebody would have gone to a shop and bought some .

Cubana has a very relaxing ambience. I ordered a frittata/tortilla which was quite substantial with some beans. Very simple and filling. My friend had a veggie stew which she really enjoyed. The portion sizes were quite large as well.

I am totally delighted and pleasantly surprised with La cubana restaurant, I must say that I wasn’t expecting the ropa vieja to be as delicious as it was, a total 10 out 10 and also the mojito was at its point and gentle in its flavour, super sweet. I’ll highly recommend for sure and looking forward to come again. Also want to comment that the attention of the waiters was quite good, specially the girl whose name was Joselin I think.

I tend to visit for the lunchtime street food and rarely have Cubana's cocktails. The service is patchy (with half of the staff members being superb, the rest being a little bit sloppy and thoughtless). The quality of the food is gradually declining, which is also reflected in the portion sizes. I continue to go mainly because the lunchtime menu is inexpensive and is (usually, but not always) served quickly. The conscientious team members still make it worth regular visits. The few times that I've tried the booze has been underwhelming, but the creative decor and props are pleasing enough to distract. Evenings tend to be a somewhat better experience all around.

The food and vibe are great, services not so much. The Services I've visited at lunchtime on a Saturday. Ordered starters, mains and some water. The starters came quick, but no water, when picking up the plate for starters I reminded the waiter about the water and also requested a beer. The food came quickly after, but no beer or water. When picking up the main plates we asked for some cocktails and some water and only this time did we get the water, almost one hour after arriving. Food and music The music was relentlessly Latino and felt authentic, really nice for dining and not too loud. The food was really good, plantain was crispy and soft in the middle same for chorizo balls. Overall good enough for a lunch, possibly better in the evening.

I would like to give one star to the place, but the staff was very lovely so I will be nice. But basically this restaurant with happy hour, doesn't have any kind of security till very late. I was with some friends outside from 6 , and this random woman, stole our tobacco, she come and left couple times trying to take our things, and start taking our drinks, at some point I didn't know if she was gonna throw the jar to me in my head. So basically I went to have a nice evening, and finish feeling totally unsafe. And the best part is that apparently this is happening already for some time, so what impressed me more is the fact that the owner of this place doesn't think about the safety of their employees, one of the workers have been hit by her already apparently. Thanks universe that in my place security start from 19, this people should be really ashamed, like they are not making money to pay someone, lol. Totally crazy. but what I said ONE STAR FOR ME, and never sit outside.

Great food great people great vibe and great music. The energy here is amazing. Staff are quick and very friendly. In the bill they add 12.5% service charge which you don't have to pay if you tell them. I just paid 5 instead of more. So all in all I had a fantastic time.

We came here last week Saturday evening. We had a nice time, cocktails were really nice. There are similar cocktails that taste the same, so be aware of that. There were several times where we had to get up to find anyone that could help. We asked three times for cutlery. We waited 40 minutes before getting up to pay for our meal. We could easily have walked out without paying. Lastly, the male waiter, short with black mid-length hair was very rude. When I asked to see the receipt he refused to give it to me, when I asked a 3rd time, he begrudgingly handed it to me so that I could see exactly what I was paying for. Because he was so rude (and it was only the 2 of us) I requested that the service charge be taken off. I really don't think it's fair to add a service charge if there are less than 4 people. Quite cheeky as many won't ask for it to be taken off. Overall I liked it here, would come back for brunch instead.

To start with, this place definitely has a very Cuban feel to it, if I say so myself (as a Cuban!💁🏻‍♀️) The decor is what stands out the most. The food is very tasty, but definitely has a Spanish/Colombian influence. Overall you do get a good idea of how our traditional food is like. He noticed we were a bit lost and showed us how to get seated and where the facilities were. We thought it would be hard to get served in such a busy place but straight away when our drinks were empty Morgan was at our table quickly to ask us if we needed anything else. Our next order came quickly. We were very lucky to get him serving us.

First we had some lovely food and drinks on happy hour at 11pm it turned to a kind of a club with live spanish music.The downside was dirty restroom and I'd offer not to dress too much going there as it becomes like sauna inside.

It was a good experience, only issue it was the waiter did not hear properly our orders, despite the fact that when he was attending us, I said loud that we wanted 2 ropa viejas and 3 mojitos, mojitos came on time but the main dishes did not. This result in waiting of 30 minutes until we realised that something migth have just gone wrong and I had to go back to the waiter and repeated it. After 15 minutes the orders arrived to our table and we could enjoy it. On the other hand, nice live music in the terrace and authentic cuban rum. The place is really nice and looks like you are literally step in Havana. Latin American music, good cocktails and nice food and really nice staff (Sara, our waitress has been super kind for the all night) are the best ingredients for a group night out here. Expect a really good rate between food/alcohol and price.

Understandably though, we went on the first day after restaurants reopened so it was very busy and chaotic. The second time was a much better experience (though the bar was low) and we had two of the cocktail jugs; the Alligator and the Woowoo. Good prices and quantity. Not sure if I'd go back because of that first bad experience but I recommend if you're looking for cheap drinks in London

Foods are really delicious! We love the grilled chicken wings as a starter. The shrimps with rice are full of flavour but not packed with salt! Their self made pistachio gelato is worth trying - a lot of crushed pistachios inside haha. The internal refurbishment is quite fun as well! Highly recommend.

Lots of potential but disappointing. Had passed here a few times and was looking forward to going here due to the venue decor etc. The cocktails were ok for happy hour prices, but the food was a real let down. It didn’t feel fresh or authentic and could have had more flavour. The staff were great though and appreciate it is a difficult time for restaurants at the moment. Also there are only two toilets for the whole restaurant which is a bit of a stretch! Overall would probably go back for drinks but not for a meal

This is my favourite bar in the whole of Lower Marsh. This is a Cuban bar and restaurant which is well designed with unique art. The beers sold in this pub are delicious and has a different taste to the beers sold in other bars and pubs in London. Delicious food is served here as well. I love the artwork painted on the exterior wall of this pub, this artwork makes the Cubana stands out nicely compared to the other business premises of Lower Marsh. There are also beautiful photographic artwork inside the Cubana, the photographic artwork represents Cuban history, society and culture. I LOVE THE CUBANA A LOT. I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK AGAIN.

Overall, Good atmosphere, fun, good for late night dancing. Booked table for 8pm on a Saturday but receptionist claimed it was booked for 845. Place was heaving and long wait for bar Service. We were not seated until almost 9. Manager apologised and provided two jugs of lemony cocktails gratis at table. We were then rushed away from table after an hour as they had to clear downstairs and upstairs dining areas for dancing (dine earlier! Oh, we tried to!). DJ played Latino dance music and lower area packed tight with dancers. Food filling, okay, but not amazing. Cocktails - we had six jugs between us but left sober. Perhaps they economise on alcohol? But some people, particularly group of youngish (Cuban?) next to us were absolutely smashed out of their brains and needed to GET A ROOM but staff and even the bouncers just left them to it, perhaps they were part of the entertainment! This was our second visit, previously we went mid week.

This place has a good vibe for a Tuesday evening and equipped to be seated outside when it was quite chilly. We ordered lots of plates of food to share, many of which came with the same sauce which didn't do much to lift the flavour of the actual food and everything needed an extra bit of salt. The outside area shut at around 10.30pm when we were invited to move inside for the live band who were great but it was so loud that we couldn't have a conversation nor could we move tables as the staffs had started to clean up and closed most parts of the inside area. Overall a nice atmosphere but generally just an ok experience.

The food here is really good and I often get their street food to take away. It's pretty reasonable and if you work locally you get a slight discount. So if you only come here for food you'll be fine. However, coming here later for drinks can be a pretty frustrating affair. When it's busy and everyone is ordering cocktail pitchers it can take a really long time to get served, and there have been several times I've walked out because I've waited over half an hour and people who came later have been served before me. If they could implement a better system and maybe have more people working the bar that might alleviate things, but as it stands I'm reticent to return (for drinks anyway).

Unlike many places, they are not stingy on how much alcohol they give you. The place was completely packed which tells you how popular it is. Was here for food tonight (Easter Sunday). Got seated immediately. Decor is very nice. Great atmosphere (live Cuban music) and waitress was really friendly. Food was fantastic. Had the cod with rice and plantain. Great portion size. Had dessert after, Cuban coffee profiteroles. Unbelievably good. Left stuffed. Great place!!

Had an incredible meal here in Waterloo the other day. Pulled pork was to die for, cocktails were fantastic, especially when Happy Hour started. Banging Mojito cocktails, Some days they have live music and people dancing. I remember seeing elderly gentleman (65+) dancing with all the ladies non stop for over an hour.. Made my day lol.. Defiantly one of the places to visit in London. I never been to Cuba, but the decorations on the wall , music and colors made me feel like I'm in Cuba .

Good vibes! The food was tasty and service very efficient. The crispy prawn salad was fresh and well-dressed, and the portion size was generous. A good range of cocktails, including non-alcoholic cocktails. Drinkable, but overly sweet for me - the menu advertised fresh fruit, however syrup/sugar was used instead.

Pre Covid, this is the place I drive past regularly and always promise to visit. The buzz of the atmosphere often spilled outside and it was always throbbing with lively people. Now, needless to say it's a lot quieter. Glad to find it open on a Saturday afternoon and no surprise it had a lot of happy patrons. Covid compliance on display at the door didn't spoil the atmosphere. Though in truth the patrons I saw didn't seem to care much at all Outdoor seating away from the main road is a great attraction. Proximity to all modes of public transport a useful bonus. The prices are very good, all things considered. I can't say much for the quality of the cuisine, but the Cuban beans and plantain I had were both very nice.

Cubana is a very lively place, the dance floor starts quite late but that may be a sign I'm old lol it can get crowded but very good vibe so it is worth it, lots of places outside so if it is not raining, adventure yourself out there to enjoy. The happy hour cocktail jars were a hit with the group I went with - and even though I don't drink alcohol, I had the virgin option at good price too.

I went here for lunch based on the high reviews. First they do not open till noon. A very cute place and innovative drinks. The food was just okay. For the money, salads are somewhat small and the Cuban pork and rice were not very hot but the side of beans was hot so mixing it in made it okay. Glad I went to try but wouldn't return. A 12.5 % service charge is automatically added to your bill. The service is not that attentive.

I've been here for cocktails a few times and they're always spot on! Their mojitos are perfect. It does get quite busy and loud at the weekend so not ideal if you're after a quiet spot for a drink, but great for a night out. Outside of peak times though it's quite pleasant! I haven't tried their food yet but I will definitely be coming here again.

Nice, relaxed place for cocktails and food. They have a happy hour everyday from 4 to 7pm (2for1). Cocktails can be served in glasses or jugs which gives it a bit of an extra feel. On Sunday we visited they also had live music. All in all recommend as it definitely gives you that Caribbean/Latin vibe.

I took my partner here on valentine's Day and it was absolutely fantastic. I came here for a simple drink, yet we stumbled across the greatest starter in the whole of the UK, the pollo Frito con Sesamo, the greatest breaded chicken in the whole of the uk. Came here for an early evening meal. Special mention goes to the cocktails. Although simple, they are very well made and delicious - queues at the bar during happy hour give evidence to this, and the staff behind the bar working really hard to keep them coming. Food is good, service friendly, only downside is the slightly cramped feel. I dont know how I would change this, maybe a cafe style area, and a slighly quieter, cosy 'lounge' area.

Not as good as it was years ago. Positives - big portions, fast and friendly service, great music and vibe. Really nice restaurant. Great drinks too! Negatives - unsure if I just got unlucky with my choices or if the chef was having an off day, but disappointingly the taste just wasn’t there, the food tasted almost bland compared to how I remember it at my last visit. The rice was not good, it was tough, plasticky, reminiscent of microwaved savoury rice. Plantains weren’t crispy, the black beans lacked depth. Just all was not very flavoursome. Would return however to try other dishes, maybe their meat dishes are better (I can’t vouch for those) and it’s just the veggie stuff that isn’t good. Maybe next time I’ll try the prawns. The two jugs of mojito are just £20 during happy hour and they were amazing, got us tipsy and happy! A loud and vibrant place with an incredible vibe. This busy and bustling bar + restaurant offers both great food and delicious drinks. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and the cassava chips were a wonderful take on a traditional side. I hadn't had Cuban food before but I found it to be tasty and tantalising and I would love to order some again. My mocktail may have been free of alcohol but the staff at Cubana really know how to make a drink, with or without the booze. With Happy Hour offers (ends at 7PM), you'll be able to order two of your choice of beverage without paying extra. I should also praise the helpful and friendly staff at Cubana. After being unable to get a table when we showed up previously (it really is very busy), we booked a table and the staff were incredibly accommodating when we showed up for our reservation. Sara, who took our booking and also took our orders when we arrived, was charming and polite and really made us feel welcome. I don't often give out five stars in my reviews because it takes a lot to impress me, but Cubana is very deserving of the praise. Highly recommended.
