We had dinner here as a family of 10 a few days ago and we absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The staff were very attentive and were constantly checking up on us throughout. The food was definitely the highlight, I have honestly never tasted food that good! The taste, presentation and quality of the dishes were top notch. The portion sizes were good and I was happy with the prices too. What really impressed me was the quick service, despite the restaurant being so busy and us being a large group the food arrived on time. I will definitely be visiting here often. I would also like to thank the staff for giving us a good experience.

Decided to try this branch as it replaced the Mirch Masala that used to be here before. First impressions are very good, the restaurant is very well decorated and environment is very comfortable. Staff was attentive and professional, and made us feel at home. In terms of food, we tried: -Vegetable Biriyani: rice was very well steamed, long basmati grains full of flavour and texture. All in all a very good take on a vegetable Biriyani. - Masala Fry Fish: Very well cooked, served nice and hot in temperature, mild in taste, so should be suitable for majority of people. - Lamb Jalfrezi: succulent pieces of lamb, with a very unique sauce, some places have one curry and add different garnishing to call it jalfrezi/korma/vindaloo etc, however this you can tell is a jalfrezi, very nice dish -Butter naan: fluffy and delicious, good blend of flour, to make a nice and soft naan Virgin Margerita: Not the best margerita, but not the worst either. Speciality Kulfa Shake: Refreshing, but very sweet. Essentially blended kulfi. In summary, Dawat Norbury has gotten off to a good start in my opinion. However i feel the milshakes and mojitos could be improved, but the food is definitely worth the money.

I have tried the Dawat Restaurant in Tooting and was very impressed by their Kebab rolls which go down a treat and give a good representation of the quality of the food. Dawat have now moved to Norbury and occupy the site of the former Mirch Masala. I'm glad to say that the Kebab rolls are of a good standard. The restaurant is busy during the week and is often full at weekends when you really need to have a reservation. Recommended.

If you expect to be threted like princess, this is not a good place for you, done! I'm not Indian but I know what good food tase like, if you want have a look a place I've been before. this place is a Good place to eat, test good and the price is affordable for any one. my first experience in Indian cuisine was at Chutney Mary and very expensive, posh restaurant and this is my second place to try Indian food, since then today is my third time and I love it.

Brilliant food and service. Ordered food for 2 big family events at home...food was ready on time, service was professional and Ali Bhai even gave us a completely dish! The mixgrill was delicious given the sauce they add on top of the meat. We also had the Nirahi wjcih was disappointing as it had no taste and the biryani was standard, nothing special. We paid approx £10 per dish which you'd expect a decent portion size but was disappointed once again, particularly the biryani which was one plate only. Tried it but won't be going again anytime soon.

First class and exceptional service. Hubby and I went on New Years Eve. Ordered the infamous mixed grill, samosat chaat and chilli paneer for starters along with butter chicken and lamb jalfrezi for mains. Judging by how busy it was I thought we would be waiting for ages. However, starters came within 10 minutes and did not disappoint! Very quick service and the waiters are all very accomodating. I have been to the Tooting branch but I love the newly done up decor in the Norbury branch, extremely classy! Highly recommend.

Staff at this place are really nice and courteous. However they kept getting our order wrong. I had to keep asking and reminding them of missing items in the order. I asked no butter or oil on naans but they all came drenched with it. Charsi chicken karahi was definitely a disappointment but lamb chops(that arrived towards the end after 2 reminders) were star of the show. Place is too congested for 6+ groups because it does get busy on weekends. Overall average quality food at a really good price.

Have given only 3 star rating as food was tasty but lamb karahi and channa masala was presented in a little mini karahi ...is it me or are the portions getting smaller and smaller to maximise profits. Reminds me of the Hadith that in time all measures will be witheld and shortened and we will all be short changed. On a lighter note I couldn't fault the restaurant staff for their excellent attention and prompt service.

Visited Dawat restaurant over the weekend with the family. Since it was afternoon, place wasn’t as busy as in the evenings. I brought my extended family here last night to celebrate my son's birthday. It was unbelievably busy so kudos to the staff for holding it together. The food was as we expected knowing what we do from the Tooting branch... Really full of flavour and cooked well. The naans were freshly prepared and delicious. We tried the butter chicken, the charsi lamb, nehari, lamb chops, chicken biryani... All excellent, quality food. The staff were attentive and brought out the cake after our meal and even stayed to sing happy birthday with us. Thank you so much, I wish I'd carried more cash for a bigger tip!

Everything was Ok. Nice food, good staff, good behaviour. Only thing I was doubt about whether it was genuinely HALAL. No HMC certificate, only Halal written in Arabic on the entrance. Now a days so many people even selling pork writes 'Halal' word on their premises and that doesn't mean they are Halal.

Recently I hired catering services from Dawat Norbury restaurant I must say food was delicious and the restaurant Manager Ali is such a help . He arranged all my food demands and the most important thing food arrived on time I ordered Lamb biryani, chicken tikka, Kababs, lamb qorma, karahi chicken , kheer, gajar ka halwa everything was delicious . Newly open Dawat restaurant in Norbury high street. Fully refurbished and looking nice. Went with the family on a saturday afternoon. Not too busy at 6pm but it had plenty of takeaway orders. Ordered sheikh kebabs, masala fish, Charkha, achari chicken, naan and tandoori roti for 3 adults. Large bottle of water with ice. They also gave papar, salad and condiments for free. Total cost £35. All the food was very nice. Prepared quickly and efficiently. Has a disabled entrance. Would happily eat here again or order a takeaway.
