I. B.My partner and I came here on New Year’s Eve, and were very surprised to see all of these mixed reviews after we left! Service was outstanding and we felt very well cared for by staff.
We had the nachos, veg enchiladas and a chicken burger and thought the food was really nice and great portions. Lovely ambience in the restaurant and once again, we were blown away by the friendly and attentive staff. We also really enjoyed the margarita pitcher.
Of course, prices are about £8 - £12 a plate, but it’s hard to find anywhere in London these days that isn’t in this price range! Really enjoyed our visit.

E.Always had a 'loca' night at Desperados. You can start the night with a Happy Hour cocktails (3.95£ each). Food is delicious, burritos and tacos are the best options I can recommend. Portions are huge though so don't go crazy on starters. Atmosphere is lovely, good music and polite staff.

s.Great food, great drinks, all around great atmosphere. The staff are polite and friendly. If your thinking of coming here a Friday or Saturday night you are best to book a table as it can get very busy.
R. H.Avoid, is my advice. The best thing I can say is it's just about ok. Food was passable if not very spicy or flavoursome. We had the most pitiful "margaritas" I've ever had the misfortune to drink - tasted more like weak orange squash, I'm not convinced there was any tequila in it! Customer service slow and not at all welcoming. Music far too loud. Not the best experience, I would NOT recommend.
O. O.In terms of food the mains seem a bit over-priced, but stack up 4-5 types of (Tapas) starters and you have an excellent meal for 2-3 people. Would stay away from thr Mappled Sauce Chicken wings, they are not worth it, but make sure to try the Chorizo and Ribs. Staff are friendly: they even lowered the music a bit so you can have a conversation. Lots of space and good athmosphere
N. K.Was a bit jared by some other reviewers, but my experience was pleasurable. Tacos, enchiladas and nachos I enjoyed a lot. Avoid the margarita pitcher, it wasn't as good as the standalone cocktail.

I ordered a chicken burrito and it came with rice on the side, salad, guacamole, sour cream, and beans. It was very delicious!

I found the service here quite slow. They had two parties in on the night but even then they weren't busy at all. Had to ask one of the waiters repeatedly if he could bring something, in the end we just gave up, finished our meals and left.
Probably need to employ more staff for when it does actually start to become busy.

S.I visited this place on a date and there was nowhere else open so it "did what it said on the tin" I'm not an expert on Mexican cuisine but I was starving and whatever I/we had definitely hit the spot, it was so late at night that we had to leave as they were closing, but all good from my angle!! 👍

The tortilla chips were totally disappointing and a very small portion for almost £5, but the dips were nice. Don't come expecting authentic mexican food or a huge amount of it, but it was enjoyable american-style mexican food.

Steak was very dry and my enchilada was not authentic. Then one of the waiters started bleaching above our table on the stairs and dust fell on our food. We recieved a free sangria at the end which was nice.

The staff were welcoming and accommodating, especially considering I'm a fussy eater, as well as my partner. The nachos were perfect. I chose the fajitas...the beef ones, the beef was a little over cooked...but that's exactly how I like it. My partner ordered the mixed grill...The ribs tasted amazing as did the lamb and steak. Chicken wings were a little 'skinny but nothing to deflect any rating from the over all experience of our meal. Well done Desperados. You have pleased 2 new customers. Keep up the great work. R&D. X
A. M.The atmosphere in there is great. The management and staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Reasonably priced. Food was flavoursome. The only thing I wouldn't have again is the prawn cocktail. The prawns tasted like they had been frozen and were tiny. The strawberry daiquiri I had was massive and very tasty too.

The food was also very delicious. The nachos were great, and you could tell the tortillas were home made. The enchiladas were also delicious.
Only docking a star because the portions could have been larger. When you see "enchiladas," on a menu, you'd expect more than one enchilada, with a 1.5inch diameter.
Still, a great restaurant with delicious food. Check it out.

A spacious outlet with the Mexican theme totally makes this place a great spot to hang around with friends at the Upper Street.The staff here is very polite and at your service as soon as you step foot into this place.
The menu is dominated by Mexican food as one would expect but also has a variety of other items,albeit with a Mexican touch(Try Garlic Bread with Cheese for one😍).The Fajitas are also very delicious as are the Tacos.The cocktails are very well stirred&shaken and you may not even realise that there’s alcohol in there.The bar has pretty much everything with the restaurant adding something on the house to make your experience even better.

First we got the nachos at 3.5GBP - Great! Tasty, baked, generous cheese and avocado - perfect starter!
Next, the wife got veggie fajita (was ok only, 6.5/10), and I got the pork chops (9.3/10). Pork chops (about 12GBP) were geeenerous - easily 2 meals worth and very tasty. The staff was very pleasant and attentive, pricing is transparent (VAT included, 10% service charge), and food service was quite fast (service only slowed a bit waiting on the bill). Very satisfying experience!

The food was ok but no different than what you get in numerous Mexican restaurants and no better than I could make at home.
