Reviews of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal
D. M.
I had a beautiful experience dinning here for lunch while tasting some amazing wines from South Africa. The private room is very scenic and charming, dark woods heavy chairs. The food is spectacular, pleasing for eyes and palate. One of the signatures dishes the Mandarin shaped liver pate was nice, and stunning but maybe I had higher expectations. The rest of the food was just perfectly executed. I can't comment on value as it was a set menus and I was a guest. I'm sure it's not cheap, and probably not the best place if you want a large meal. But definitely an experience to try.

This was amazing🤩 we weren’t expecting it as we have been to the one in Melbourne and it was quite average. But this one in London really blew us away.
All the dishes we had were delicious but the ‘rice and flesh’ was a stand out. The portions are very reasonable for fine dining and we were already full after 2 courses and bread. We shared the cheesecake dessert which was scrumptious. Service was great and we had a lovely time celebrating a birthday there. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.
A.
I would say excellent service & place but not something I feel amazed. Had 5 course set menu. Only the first dish stands out to me as brilliant, rest is really just average. The cocktail drink with no alcohol, terrible. 14 P each. I don’t think it is worthy If you don’t drink alcohol. Just order juice /water/soft drink. Do better.
Try or not try depends on you :-)

Worth the hype! Excellent flavours in everything we ordered. The meat fruit was spectacular and so was the pork chop. We had 2 vegetarians on our table and they enjoyed their meals as well. The deserts were not of the same calibre of the starters and mains..an area of improvement. But the nitrogen ice cream was delicious
P. A.
Excellent but not creative enough
We were fortunate to get an outside seat, it really is beautiful on the terrace beside Hyde Park, peaceful and regal. Service was impeccable, professional but also friendly and humorous. Wine list was very good and we enjoyed a fine bottle of champagne with our meal.
As to the meal, between us we had beef cheek, smoked salmon, duck and cod (as well as desserts). Each course was beautifully presented, full of flavour and extremely tasty. My criticism was “where’s the Heston twist?”, apart from the “fruit meat” which we didn’t try the dishes weren’t at all unusual or particularly historical (which is the theme). We left completely sated having enjoyed an truly excellent meal but mildly perplexed as to the use of Heston’s name.

First time to be here last light, I would recommend you go to book a table now!!
Starter: Crab loaf and Almond rice & flesh, both very delicious!
Main: Salmon & Champagne and Sea Bass & Green Sauce, i love fish!!! The sauce is interesting.
Side dishes: Parnsip, Broccoli, Mashed potatoes.
Dessert: Chocolate Tart with yogurt sorbet.
We also order a bottle of white wine, after everything we felt so full and satisfied.
The service was brilliant, staffs engaged with customers with heart (not just a robotic service), its absolutely light up our whole dinning experience.
C. L.
Would come back for special occasions. Tipsy cake was the best. Would skip the mushroom truffle parfait and fruit parfait next time. Steak cooked really well. Cod was fresh. Truffle mash also very good. Service was excellent.

Amazing experience. The food was incredible, the wine pairings were spot on, the staff was super friendly and helpful.
We had lunch in the private dining room, which has a very unique design inspired from British History. We opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Some of the best food I’ve ever had for sure. The meat fruit and Tipsy cake were particular highlights for me, definitely worth the hype!
The portions were sized very reasonably and by the 5th course I was already full, so don’t underestimate the amount of food you get. I’d recommend not eating before if you’re going for the 5-course menu.
They were also super nice to show us around the kitchen and tell us about how it was designed and how the chefs work.
Would definitely recommend!

This place has great service. They were a little slow at first but after that we didn’t even have to call the waiters over. The food was good but I was expecting more. The chicken was really good but the pork was lacking Flavour. The started were great. The dessert was also delicious.
M. H.
The chicken parfait entrée was superb, both the duck and the squab pigeon were beautifully cooked and come with a very nice sauce! If the main you chose doesn't come with chips then highly recommend getting a side of the triple cooked chips as they were amazing! Must try the Tipsy cake for dessert, sounds weird but is very nice (pictured in the little black pot)

Best restaurant I’ve been to in London. Service, food, atmosphere was just 11/10. Thanks to everyone and especially the man going to Dubai. I’m sure he will be sorely missed and I hope he has a great send off. You will find my details on the system, and I’d like to attend at least one summer party! Low-key not joking.

While I felt that the overall experience lacked the personal touch and hospitality of a 2 Michelin star restaurant, the menu, a modern take on British history, was truly delicious, with highlights being the delicately seared Scallops, the mouth-watering Hereford Prime Rib, for 2 and the Tipsy Cake (spit roast pineapple) dessert.
M. S.
Great 2 star Michelin restaurant in the heart of London. The sommelier was excellent and made our experience even better. Do make sure you try the tipsy cake, definitely worth a try! And one of the few Michelin starred restaurants where you can be stuffed by the end of the meal.
T. S.

The whole experience was awesome.
Customer service was totally amazing and the knowledge of the staff made the food experience really special. Meat fruit and Topsie pudding were my favourites.
Y. B.
The dishes were delicious, but not too sophisticated.
The lobster and cucumber soup was our least favorite dish (it also had a small piece of shell).
This is a 2 michelin star restaurant but you will not get a full 2 michelin star experience if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong - everything was delicious, but that's it. Flavors were great, but not special or anything you didn't taste before.
Cocktails are also pretty simple.
To sum it up - delicious food but nothing "michelin" about it.
N. C.
Excellent experience with creative, well executed food. Service was faultless from all staff bar one, a tall blonde haired man who was clearly over it compared to the other staff (hence -1 star). If I got the rib eye again I'd order it medium rather than medium rare. Other dishes also all amazing. Pricey but worth it.

A nice welcome from door staff and restaurant reception. We were shown to a table with a good view of the kitchen which was instructive to see the pineapples roasting. The deco of restaurant was manly, dark wood and leather abound. The historic menu has interesting taste and the sommelier was most helpful. The food was well prepared but for total price was more than we normally pay in The cut at 45 Lane or Wilton’s. Overall an enjoyable evening.

Everything about the whole experience left like ultimate luxury without any of the pretentiousness. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable with friendly smiling staff. Short history lessons were given with the meals of origin and how it was cooked. They even allowed me to meet the head chef and sit by the windowed kitchen to watch the magic and hard work happen. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. A definite winner in my book and can't wait to go back!
S. A.
Impeccable Service, brilliant food, nice terrace. We were intrigued by the new lunch menu but ordered a la cart instead. Everything was fresh and tasty, the brioche dessert was glorious.
A culinary experience I will never forget

What an experience! If you are looking for a very English fine cuisine, then that’s where you have to go. Everything was just great and unlike many other set menus, you do leave the restaurant full. The staff is great, the guy that served us explained every plate in detail and guided us in the selection of the food. We really enjoyed our dinner!
R. S.
After having been to the Fat Duck I was intrigued in tasting a few more of Heston's food creations so decided to pop along here. Dinner by Heston did not disappoint. Service was a little hands off, but still friendly enough and the food was an interesting gastronomic experience which will linger on my mind for some time. A bit on the "lite" side of things compared with a full tasting menu. The experience is a lot shorter (2 hours for 3 courses and some nitrogen ice cream (+£12pp)), but not that much cheaper than something like Restaurant Gordon Ramsay's tasting menu. The foods are definitely more adventurous though. The signature dishes of meat fruit, tipsy cake, and triple cooked chips (with mushroom ketchup) were all pretty good. Great overall, but personally I prefer the smaller plates and extended experience of a full tasting menu. So would recommend as a one off if one is interested in interestingly different foods, but probably would check the Fat Duck or the likes out again in future.
P. J.
Today was a visit for lunch, but the service and menu selection is superb whether for lunch or for dinner. Understandably they are worthy of their Michelin star and offer everything you would expect from the premium dining restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental.
B. L.
You can't fault it.
Food and service are impeccable.
Food is very technical, using old and new ways to trick your eyes and tastebuds.
Very knowledgeable, professional, non intrusive front of house waiting team.
If you want a bit of everything, then try the 4 courses tasting menu which can also be accompanied by a set of matching wines.
Because Google's rating is 5 stars max, I give it a 6 stars rating.
Definitely worth a trip to London.
S. S.
Exceeded our expectations! Five stars is not enough. The best thing the evening was the dessert, so make sure to save some room for it. Kind and skillful staff never left us waiting.
L. L.
One word to describe my experience here. Perfect. Love their Black Foot pork chop, that’s how pork should be cooked. Decent dessert too, would definitely recommend their tipsy cake! Amazing wine list and friendly sommelier, good collection of wine indeed, spent a great time here!
P. P.
Great experience! Restaurant itself is nice, but not overly elegant compare to other competitors. We have been served mostly by Michal, who was friendly, attentive and recommended us the dishes which were excellent. Liver parfait, halibut, duck and tipsy cake... all done to absolute perfection! Pietro, the sommelier was an absolute star. Knowledgeable, professional but also very friendly and kind! Definitely someone who cares and loves the job his doing. Many thanks for recommendation of Saint Lauren! 👍🏻
Place worth visiting and coming back! 5 star all the way!
J. W.
Great service, atmosphere and good food. That pineapple dessert was worth the 1hr wait, amazing. Steak was ordinary though - overcooked for a med-rare, otherwise a solid lunch.

It was my girlfriend's Bday. The service and presentation of the food was good. I liked the ambience and warmth of the restaurant. The food itself wasn't amazing. I didn't feel like I was having Michelin star food. The dessert was probably the best course. It was a pineapple tipsy cake. Very smooth and flavoursome. The bread they served us as an appetiser didn't feel fresh. It was hard and rocky. The butter they provided felt very regular. The signature meat fruit starter wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. All in all 6/10. Don't think I will be visiting again.

Try once and you’ll never forget!
This is my first time having dinner in a 2 Michelin star restaurant. I found this place from the recommendation from the Michelin app. Do download the app as you will find a selections of restaurants who either do not have (but recommended by Michelin) or do have Michelin stars.
The restaurant is just beneath Hyde Park on Google Map, you can use underground to reach Knightsbridge via Piccadilly line if you need to, and walk a few seconds to reach.
The entrance of the restaurant is rather exquisite as it is located in Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, a 5-star hotel, which feels like a bonus. You will be greeted with the host which will direct you to your seats. Very friendly service I must say, professional in fact, which fits the fame of the restaurant.
Had some fine Krug champagne and some nice slices of bread with a good amount of butter spreads to start off with. After that, the food will be shortly served in a timely manner.
There are a few things you have to try. Meat Fruit dish is one of the starters that you just try. The whole presentation is beautifully executed, with the rich and creamy chicken liver parfait wrapped in a thin layer of skin made of mandarin, which made it seemed like an actual mandarin orange. At the side of it you will have nice toasty slice of bread needed to have with the parfait. Give it a good spread of the parfait, with some of the mandarin skin element, and you will find yourself melting in it when it reaches your mouth. It just melts with flavour and the fine rich texture enhances the experience more. We we’re offered with more bread as a piece of it won’t be enough for the whole parfait. Take it, you surely will need it.
As for me, I ordered the Rice and Flesh starters. Made with saffron and red wine, with a generous beef cheek on it, the flavour will make you stunned in awe and blessings. This is like nothing I’ve ever tasted before! The red wine and saffron refines the taste a little bit more, and with the beef cheek on it, makes it a perfect combination. Do note that all the dishes are inspired and refined from traditional recipes which range from as old as 13th century. Heston just made it even better!
Mains, Fillet of Hereford Beef is a must try and Roast Halibut & Green Sauce is no exceptional. One of the finest cattle breed you can find in the UK, and highly sought be professional chefs, the Hereford Beef just makes the experience more exquisite. Medium rare is the the way to eat but definitely have it the way you prefer, and that mushroom sauce is something you need to have it with. Roast halibut paired with green sauce, essentially a sour based sauce that, to my surprise pairs well with the halibut, as well as when having it with the braised chicory. Very well defined dishes and excellent food quality there.
You can’t miss out the Tipsy Cake dessert. Depending on your preference you might not like itv as it tends to be a little bit strong ont be sweet side, but you know, I have a sweet tooth and this is just something hot and nice to have as the ending. Very nice hot and toasty (the surface above) sponge cake baked with rich syrup of ingredients which I don’t know, but that alone is good itself. Pairing it with the roasted pineapple makes it better than it already is. Definitely Recommended for sweet tooth eaters.
We ended our meal with some teas and some little snacks before leaving.
Overall the food is exceptional, service is professional and the environment is just grand. Do come and have a try if you’re in London (please made a reservation!!!), but do note that it will be pricey. So do some math and budgeting before coming! But I can assure you that you won’t miss out the goodness and the joy of having such a wonderful meal at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, 2 Michelin star restaurant.

A real treat to dine out in London together at Heston’s restaurant where we both ordered the chicken parfait to start. Cutting into the mandarin gave us both much delight at the reveal. Although the thick fried bread almost filled us both up before our mains.
I must say our decision to share a tipsy cake was spot on as we nearly didn’t have room to squeeze in anymore tasty treats. However, each spoonful of creamy rum filled was worth it and I did scrape out the bottom of the ramekin like a greedy girl.
A. K.
Lovely experience and food. Meat Fruit on toast was spectacular. The service was attentive and the decor elegant. The ice cream making with liquid nitrogen was fun and a great ending to the evening.
B.
Awesome as always. Meat fruit, the Truffle, fillet steak and tipsy cake are strong recommends.
L. K.
What a treat! Meat fruit and tipsy cake were my favourite dishes. For mains, we had the roasted turbot and iberico pork. Both delicious! Service was impeccable. Enjoyed watching the chefs at work. Do yourself a favour and book a table here. Obviously not cheap but amazing experience from beginning until the end.
S. G.
Worth every bits ! The concept, the execution, the simplicity yet the depth of flavours has been very profound in every dish we ate.
We got salmagundy (impeccable sauce), the squab (very hearty flavour), the halibut (very clean flavours and light to match the fish), and the best dish of the night the Tipsy Cake. make sure you have space for the dessert ! skip on anything else if you want to !
Super decadent yet melt in your mouth star of the show. It's a must must must have.
you're paying that much money for more than just food and once you realise it then it makes the experience more meaningful too.
Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to under stand what the British cuisine used to be like
A. A.
Loved it! Menu fantastic and I wasn't hungry at the end... When going to some posh restaurants you might feel like I need a McDonald's in the way back lol, this wasn't the case!! And it didn't break my bank account either, totally recommend
J. A.
Impeccable service from start to finish and tasty food.
I've admired Heston's work for many years and I wasn't at all disappointed.
This standard of dinning was definitely a treat for me and I fully enjoyed the experience.
Huge thank you to the recption staff and server's who were all extremely friendly and welcoming.
Ps I also had the Hertfordshire Ribeye which was the most tender stake I've ever eaten.
5 stars all round.
G. S.
It was a lovely experience, first time going to a restaurant as a table of 6. Service was flawless, attentive without being OTT. There was so much space between tables in the restaurant. The food and wine was incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better meal. Would recommend the meat fruit starter without a shadow of a doubt.
J. F. R. (.
It’s been my 3rd time coming here and it never fails to impress us. Last visit though had minor hiccups when some drinks were ordered but it arrived late and need to follow up as food was already served. But in general, food and ambience is hats off ❤️
My hubby always brings me here coz we both love to eat our fave Meat Fruit.
E. B.
Food is next level.. 2nd time been here and it’s very tasty… was very busy.. but service wasn’t the best has took a while to clear plates and bring courses.. but food was next level first time that I came here service was on point so a little disappointed this time but can’t complain with the food and friendliness of staff

Cozy restaurant. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding.
Service was delightful and very professional.

This is our first time in the London restaurant (we have been in the Melbourne one twice before it shut)
They have very similar menu but still find everything exciting. Staff were polite and helpful.
The meatfruit and the truffle were really good. The steak was probably the only steak we enjoyed eating in restaurants. Cocktails were good too! Desserts were the best part! Everything else were really good but the ones mentioned are the ones worth ordering!
I. J.
The service is outstanding as is the setting and the knowledge of the staff about all the dishes being served is amazing.
A couple of the "signature" dishes were outstanding but many others were good but not great.
We had great chips and mash as sides but then the broccoli was poor.
Overall for the the food and service I would perhaps return
The killer is the price of wine which is absurd.
S. T.
The meat fruit and tipsy cake are to die for. The meat fruit is quite large and the flavour is very intense, and you can ask for another piece of bread to go with the meat fruit as well. Very good cocktails too and you're able to order off menu.
H. J.
A relaxed and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, we had two waiters, one was an Italian gentleman and the other was a fellow Welshie named Geriant! Both staff were attentive throughout our meal. I was celebrating a special birthday and asked if I could take the menu as a souvenir. Geriant went one step further and had a birthday message written onto a fresh menu and was signed by the head chef, lovely gesture and appreciated. My partner really enjoyed his meat fruit starter however ,I found it to be too rich for my taste and was extremely happy that I had opted for the scallop starter, delicious. Both the fillet and the ribeye steaks were cooked to perfection and according to our preference. We decided to order sides to accompany the main (not essential after the selection of bread we had been given and eaten prior to our starters). The carrots were buttered and cooked with bay leaves which was subtle but ample. We both agreed that the vegetables had been overly seasoned with salt, this was quite overpowering due to the steaks also being well seasoned.
My partner enjoys an Irish coffee after his meal as I enjoy a desert. The coffee came and was returned as it was barely lukewarm, another was brought along with an apology but again the coffee was lukewarm. As for my pineapple dessert! Perfection, light and sweet (not overly, perfectly balanced flavours). I found myself transfixed by the workings of the kitchen as I faced a glass walled kitchen, it was a hive of activity everyone focused and working within their designated areas. Understandable how food is delivered so efficiently! Lovely atmosphere and definitely worth a visit!
E. D.
What can I say? Such an incredible experience, topped off by superb foods and fantastic service. The whole evening was faultless. A special thank you to Ryan, we had such a great chat with him and he was kind enough to show us the kitchen. I can't wait to return. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a special night out.
W. B.
Excellent food overall. Good concept, waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and very jolly.
Expensive. Steak verging on the too salty to be edible. Pigeon very rich and very pink, nauseatingly so at times. It could have done with some veg to counterbalance. I assumed they would be included for the £56; but no, it's another tenner for some broccoli. Tipsy Tart was good, but the amount of pineapple could have been more generous for £25.
Starter £25
Mains £55
2x sides £20
Pud £25
Wine, the cheapest starts at £17 for 125ml, and rises very steeply after that.
Water £7.
So that's £149 pp with just the the one small glass. Luckily I wasn't in a wine drinking mood.
I think some beers would have been more suited to these old English dishes but there didn't seem to be any on offer. I'd like to go back, but I think I'd only bother with a couple of starters and a portion or two of chips.
A. C.
It’s absolutely an enjoyable dinner; services are impeccable, glad to see the management has kept the same staff ratio before the pandemic; great wine selection but are still overpriced; one star being taken off just bc of the food quality; (🤔the mushroom ketchup tastes a bit like LKK oyster sauce)
J. N.
Sensational! Superb setting, fantastic service and even better food. My only challenge was selecting dishes from all the mouthwatering options on the menu. The best meal I’ve ever had. I unreservedly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a fantastic meal.
Y. A.
I absolutely love this place. It’s my partners favourite restaurant as well and we like to come here for special occasions. The food is always spectacular and the service is always superb. It’s such a treat to visit. Would highly recommend! If you do visit you have to try the signature Tipsy Cake. The best thing on the menu and so delicious! Can’t wait to go back

Excellent Food matched by service you would expect from a place like this.
D. S.
An amazing restaurant with even better service. The food was delicious especially the tipsy cake, would come back just to eat that desert again.
E. P.
Fantastic tasting brisket really polite and professional team working you get alot for your money definitely will visit again.

Heston is a great chef, but as usual when you get fame you often gain brand image and this restaurant was just that. I found his “Dinner” restaurant decidedly average.
The menu was sub-par and his £60 fillet steak was nothing to be desired. In fact, I walked out of the restaurant embarrassed that I had taken my girlfriend there for her birthday.
It speaks volumes not only about the food but the clientele as well. It is literally all about image. By that I mean, the clientele were dripping with gold and jewelry that most individuals would never be able to afford. Embarrassingly though, they had their “cliche” Harrods bags as per usual.
Now for the food… if I am going to pay £60 for a fillet, I expect it to be top notch, and I mean TOP NOTCH!!! I can recommend 4 restaurants in my area alone… (Essex) that will serve a better cut and a better taste than what was served to me at Dinner, at half the price.
The wine was lovely but I personally know the bottle I chose was from the same vineyard that sells the same wine for £9.50. I can only assume the bottle was sold for £70 to make up for the rent Heston has to pay to hold the lease.
To sum it up, decour was sub par with random cake tins on the walls. Hotel was amazing, staff were top notch, food was embarrassing to be served to international clientele, but it will most likely be a success as most of the clientele are from money and it’s really all about the location and the labels.
I would not personally recommend it if you are a Londoner, nor if you chose it for the food or for a social occasion. In fact, I would say I would only eat there again if I was on a business trip and I was staying upstairs in the hotel.
The park across the road is amazing though.
A. K.
Overall an underwhelming experience and overpriced for what it was.
Food was very good but lacked the creativity you would expect at a 2*.
Atmosphere is disappointing. Felt like we were having dinner after a long day at a work conference in a soulless, corporate hotel restaurant. Those chandeliers nearly made me weep. Design needs a total overhaul to create a more special and beautiful experience.
Service started off well but then became slow and it took 20 minutes of trying to get anyones attention for the bill.
Charging £2 extra for milk with coffee was the final pinnacle of frustration with overpricing. Come on, paying £200+ a head and you are charging this for a little jug of regular milk? It felt cheap. It would want to be fresh from a cow’s udder outside the front door to justify this.
Enjoyed the wine and pre-dinner cocktails in the bar are great.
Overall, felt like we had a good meal at a very standard restaurant that fell short of an “experience”, which is what you would expect. Entirely underwhelmed and felt value for money was poor.
A. D.
Have been here a couple of times. I actually wanted to visit Heston’s dining experience in the village, sadly could get a reservation. So I chose the next best thing. Lunch at Dinner 😋.
Food was delicious and left us quite confused. Things are not what they seem, the visuals mask the actual ingredients quite well. Sensory overload.
We were even greeted by Heston on one of our visits, sadly we didn’t get a photo with him, maybe next time.
Best dishes - meat fruit, pigeon lollipops with spinach soup, drunken pie.
Take your friends and family out and have a blast.
Y.
Great restaurant. Food was amazing and service was excellent. Traditional British cuisine with a refined contemporary spin. Definitely worth a visit.
C. C.
A lovely setting within the hotel & we were given a seat with a wonderful view of the park. The concept of the menu is eye opening, bringing to life dishes/concepts of years gone by.
I was surprised with how flustered the server got when mentioning my allergy (which had been stated at point of booking) and it took sometime to be told what I could eat, and no actual menu provided just verbally communicated. Whilst I appreciate the concept of the set dishes, I was left with very limited options which was a shame. That said the food I could eat was delicious.
The food really does stand out but the service was a let down for a restaurant of this standard. Worth a visit, but if for a special occasion better overall 'experience' can be found elsewhere.
E. P.
Very pleased with the overall experience, service , food and choice of wine. My only comment would be that I tasted the salt in the food , which to me it shouldn't happen in these fine places . In a similar manner, I found the dessert could do with less sugar and salt. But again overall, a fine dining experience.
P. K. L.
2 Michelin star restaurant - so this is the difference.
Experience was superb. Staff were very attentive, professional and made you feel relaxed, no tension whatsoever. Decor was spacious and beautiful.
Special thanks to the female staff who went extra mile she even remembered my requests for the Bohemian cake decorated Anniversary.
Meat fruit tastes like a mandarin infused with chicken pate, along with oily, crunchy and savoury bread.
Main course was a surprise, the cod fillet was actually a lot bigger than pictures, enough for 2 people to share and the female staff was kind enough to acknowledge this. Beautiful on the plate and the green sauce had a sweet and minty touch to it that spices up the delicious cod fillet. Definitely Fresh.
Dessert was amazing, the tipsy cake tastes like sweet bread infused with brandy soup. The pineapple looked amazing but could have tasted more sweet perhaps overpowered by the tipsy sauce. All three waiters came to our table and wished a happy anniversary which was amazing and felt personal touch at the end. However the Bohemian cake didn’t look as we expected (see older photos of this cake) missing gold touches and ice cream.
Overall, every staff deserves a good handshake and acknowledgement from Heston Blumenthal, but especially the female staff today unfortunately we couldn’t get name of due to being busy towards the end - definitely made the experience much better and deserves the very best praise and raise.
Very good choice for Anniversary, first time Michelin experience.
Worth the 2 Michelin stars.

Top class restaurant, didn't disappoint me. Meat fruit was my favorite of the meal.
J. K.
Fantastic experience ! the food was amazing i opted for the meat fruit starter, chicken liver parfait followed by my main being rib eye steak, Hereford. Would highly recommend a vist to this restaurant the staff are very friendly polite and professional. We will be back next time we are in London.
A. R.
Wow!! It was everything we hoped it would be and more.
Only offering a la carte rather than a tasting menu is a novel approach.
But the “meat fruit” was incredible; probably the best parfait I’ve ever eaten.
The “tipsy cake” wasn’t something I’d normally order but given its a house speciality I couldn’t resist and it did not disappoint. So good!
Cracking wine menu to go with it and perfect service.
J. S.
Amazing food. Cant fault it. The tipsy cake is the best dessert Ive ever had. Plus got to meet the man himself on the way out. Top bloke. Thanks, Heston and to all your wonderful staff.
D. O.
Had a great meal here. Highlights were the meat and flesh, pidgeon and the tipsy cake. Everything was executed flawlessly, although as a chef myself i wanted to point out that my girlfriends seabass was clearly not fresh and had a fishy taste to it. Other than that an exceptional meal.
A. G.
Very welcoming and kind staff. They made sure we knew what we were going to eat, describing ingredients. Of course, the food was amazing. A blend of interesting ingredients where you can still taste each one of them. We took a three-course set lunch menu and a two-course because we wanted to try the tipsy cake. Well with it. We'll definitely go back there.
D. G.
Always a great experience. Love coming back for the outstanding food and service. Great place for celebration!
G. O.
Splendid food but eyewateringly expensive. I guess if you have to look at the price you can’t afford it. We had lunch. Mark - our sommelier for the day - was a great ambassador for the restaurant.
J. M.
Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel serving high end fine dining. The service was perfect, not stuffy or pretentious.
L. I. S.
Just awesome! Oh, and do make sure you try the Tipsy Cake!
J. L.
My third visit to Hestons London venue having also eaten at the Melbourne venue. I was a little disappointed this time. I thought the service was very casual and the food although excellent seemed to be very much the same as my last venture. I will come back as I know that it’s not every day that venues get it right.
K. C.
The meat fruit was all it was made out to be, loved it. My rib eye was nothing short of perfection. Loved the service, the foo was to die for!
I. t.
Destination dining experience.
Excellent Service with complete attention to detail in dishes presented and service from the staff alike.
Highlight of the day was the mash potatoes a delicate affair, fluffy and respectfully well presented even as an accompliment to a meal.

As one has to come to expect from Heston, this is very much ‘experience’ dining, and for the typical Londoner there is very little reason to venture into Knightsbridge for anything other than a real treat, be it shopping, drinking or eating. DINNER very much delivers on the eating and drinking; I was blown away by the quality of the food and found the whole immersive experience to be top notch. I followed a thousand diners before me and (amongst other courses) had the Orange Meat Fruit (sublime) and Ice Cream (my oh my!) with champagne to boot. Par for the course with Heston, the ice cream came out in a custom-made liquid nitrogen-emitting ice cream cart, where we watched the chef make it before our eyes. Been a few years since I went (the fond memories remain) and the whole night was brilliant and cost just shy of £1200 for a party of five with three courses a head and the champagne pouring. Well worth the £££ and the Mandarin Oriental is the perfect setting.
J. H.
I’ve ordered a 3 course lunch menu and added a plum meat fruit from the starters.
The signature meat fruit was flavorful and rich. Bread on the side was a perfect match to it. I even got a refill.
And I also had dressed snails-roasted quail-bohemian cake for the 3c lunch. They were absolutely perfect.
The service here was also very satisfying. Even though I visited alone, I never felt awkward here.
L. M.
This is the best restaurant in London. The staff treat you as if you are a combination of a long-lost friend and literally the only person in the restaurant. It's uncanny how a team of people can seem so relaxed and at ease, excited about their work, and yet still be busy. It's the next level in service. And the food was excellent with a level of fun and showmanship beyond my expectations.

We came here as our post wedding celebratory lunch and with the lovely weather were able to sit outside on the terrace - was fabulous. We were still on cloud 9 so it was a little disappointing that the restaurant did nothing to mark the occasion or make it that little bit more special. The food itself was exceptional, really delicious particularly their more famous dishes the meat fruit and tipsy cake. However being a two Michelin star restaurant I expected the service to be of a higher standard as we often had to re request items (such as the menu to order our second dessert) or ask for a wine top up etc which was rather disappointing.
P. D.
Book early for this amazing restaurant. Every dish has a story and tastes amazing. Order from the menu or go for the tasting selection.
Just give yourself enough time to eat and appreciate it
J. F.
Great value for money on their lunch menus. Especially recommend their bohemian cake! Really full by the end of the two course meal. We also ordered the iconic meat fruit and it didn’t disappoint. The citrus flavour in the rich pate was a wonderful touch!
A. D.
Dining at the only traditional British, 2 Michelin star restaurant in the UK's capital itself is a fantastic experience! Not only does the world famous 'Meat fruit' deliver but you also have other hidden gems like Salamagundy. The portions are generous (3 course meal with a glass of wine is more than enough) but the highlight of the experience was the exceptional service. This is the reason I will visit again. Must try and highly recommended especially if this is your first michelin restaurant experience.
J. J.
Excellent service and food! Came in for our anniversary dinner. It’s has 2 Michelin stars and well deserved. They went the extra mile and made a special “Happy 3rd Anniversary” plate at the end. We opted to go for the 4 course FT dinner, and it’s quite a lot of food, we walked out absolutely stuffed. I highly recommend the set menu option as you get to sample the highly acclaimed meat fruit along with 2 mains! all the food was superb, loved the meat fruit, it’s texture was silky smooth; the duck was super moist and crispy!
R. T.
Meat fruit was great, scallops delicious, steak amazing but sadly the tipsy cake was a bit of a let down as the cake itself was drowned in alcohol and the pineapple was tasteless, I can't help but feel that this was rushed as the kitchen was already closed despite us ordering it at the start of the meal. Service was good.
A. M.
Exquisite... Is all that needs to be said.... Excellent service, food flawless, definately would go back...you must have the Tipsy Cake desert...it's out of this world...
A. A.
Superb restaurant with a tasty menu, amazing atmosphere and very attentive staff. The dishes are perfectly executed in harmony with the local British cuisine.
H. P. H.
Amazing dinner. Well worth the two Michelin stars. Loved the signature dishes. The tipsy cake was to die for. You need to order at the beginning of your seating as it takes 40 minutes to prepare. It also comes with the incredible tasty pineapple slices. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall an amazing experience. The highlight of our trip.
M. F.
Set in the Mandarin Oriental with a stunning view of Hyde Park, it was always going to be an excellent place to spend an afternoon.
Came principally for the set lunch but how could we not try the legendary meat fruit? We were not disappointed as the presentation and flavorful met the hype. Along with a side of fantastic toast, the fame is well deserved.
The rest of the meal was well balanced and service was excellent. Price was a bit steep but well worth it for a special occasion (or if you just wanted to treat yourself!)
S. G.
What can I say. Wonderful restaurant in a magnificent setting. The dining room with big windows on Hyde Park is just stunning. The kitchen has glass walls and you can see how the chefs are working, very nice touch. The food is amazing, truly top class, and the service is impeccable. As suggested by the staff, I had a 3 course menu, plus the iconic Meat Fruit. The wines suggested by the sommeiller perfectly matched the dishes. You will definitely feel full and satisfied after this experience, ready for a walk on the park.
I'll probably go back to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommended.
S. L.
Absolutely brilliant. Food exquisite. Staff so helpful. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It's a must visit. Loved every minute.😋
E. m.
Really well cooked dishes with great flavor. Service is decent and overall quite a satisfying meal. What was missing though was the overall experience... like it’s missing some wow factor (no I am not referring to molecular gastronomy type of surprises). The presentation of the starters were great, but the main courses were just... standard?Overall it just felt like a really really well cooked dinner with an inflated price tag, especially when compared to other restaurants of the same caliber.
H.
Loved the food - delicious, quality and perfect portion sizes. Service was very good, but felt a bit stuffy - likely due to the really large dining room and a lot of wait staff. The food is 5 stars, the environment is 3 stars. I went for my birthday, and though greatly enjoyed the food, I didn’t feel like the place was suitable for a romantic or a celebratory dinner. The atmosphere is perfect for a work / client dinner or for co-workers celebrating promotions. I will probably return for the food, but will not become a regular.
N. T.
We just walked out of here from lunch and wow it was an experience! Although we didn’t get the set cost menu, having it makes the experience more affordable so for people thinking of staying away due to price then check again. The food & service were on point. The meat fruit, fillet steak and the tipsy cake were amazing
C. W. W.
First time going to a Michelin restaurant but always wondered around the hype. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal lives up to it all the rave. All the dishes were exciting and delicious the flavours were first time experiences.
The restaurant looks lavish and prestige but very comfortable and welcoming.
The pork chop is highly recommend, first time I had medium rare cooked pork where outside it's slightly crispy and charred outside yet tender and soft center.
The fruit meat was a marvel I'm not a huge fan of chicken parfait however the mandarin outer jelly balances the rich flavours very well.
Overall experience was great and definitely worth trying once.
L. H.
Service and food fabulous, really loved the menu concept. However....for the cost I expected more. The prices are equivalent to a Michelin tasting menu, but you’re getting three courses. While I was blown away with my starter of Rice and Flesh and the pigeon main was divine, my partner found his chicken oysters and pork chops cooked to perfection, but not inspirational enough for the price. So a delicious meal, but we would not return.
V. J.
Amazing taste of Korean burger... outstanding coffee... I visited Leon with my colleagues and all of us highly satisfied with the services... will visit again soon.. From PVC CURTAIN DIRECT
A. M.
Simply amazing! Easily the best dining experience we have ever had. Service is impeccable without making you feel suffocated / constantly watched, the sommelier was beyond words with helping educate us and helping us find the perfect wine, and the food was just incredible and absolutely deserves the hype! Cerviche, meat fruit, steak, pork loin, sides, tipsy cake and cheese board were phenomenal. Can’t recommend enough 🙌🏼
A. M.
Sauce for both Appetizers are way too sour that I could not finish them.
The main course is fine but the centre of the fish is cold.
Finally, the Dessert is excellent because I never like custard but they added some cogne that tastes another level!
Decor and services are flawless!
N. S.
Really good ambience in the restaurant. The kitchen has a window so you can see the food being made which is really interesting. The staff were friendly and accommodating to vegetarians (although there wasn't much choice). There were 2 veg starters (a salad and a porridge) and 1 main (roasted cauliflower). I only had the main but it was very tasty! My wife said the meat fruit starter which she had was very good. They had a good cocktail selection (mainly gins) and the food menu was well explained by the wait staff. The desserts were delicious too. The only other thing I would mention is we did have some lengthy waits between courses but overall good experience.
L. V.
Best Meal ever in London. Food was amazing suits 2 michilin stars. We are going as a big group so had a chance to try almost every menu. Every single was incredible especially Pate and Pigeon.
V. J.
The atmosphere and service was top notch, the food is very nice. However, it is definitely on the more pricier end. We’ve dined at much better Michelin star restaurants and paid a lot less. I suppose the price is normal to London standard. The signature dishes are Meat Fruit (Entrwe) and Tipsy Cake (dessert), both are very good.
S. B.
Well what can I say? The evening was fantastic overall. Highly recommend this if you are in London and looking for a dinner on the higher end of the scale.
The service was top notch, fast, informative, friendly, courteous and professional.
The food was as you would expect. Inventive, well presented and above all tasty. The menu was well thought out - the one we had drew its inspiration from old/ancient recipes that have been dug up during research.
Recommend the ice cream cart
M. S.
Great to see this place open again. Simple yet interesting fine dinning. 3 courses. Great wines to match each dish. Total bill came to £300 for 5 dishes with 6 drinks. A lovely setting for dinner and lunch. Lobster Kedgeree top pick! Snails also an interesting dish.
L. L.
It was “alright”. Service seems to have diminished since the last time I ate at this restaurant. Food was also okay. Presentation was nicely done, as expected of a 2 Michelin starred restaurant but over all the experience left something to be desired. We were seated at the very end of the restaurant by a service counter but unfortunately it seemed the service was directed elsewhere. Certainly didn’t live up to the expectations of my guests.
Y.
You know this is a great restaurant when you go in there having high expectations, and still get those expectations exceeded. The dishes were beautifully presented, but most importantly nailed the balance of different flavors and textures.
The meat fruit had a rich, creamy core of liver pate but enclosed with a refreshing, sweet, mandarin skin that balances the overall meal - making it rich but not overpowering, perfectly balanced. Eaten separately, each element is beautifully done but eaten together, they blend harmoniously and complement each other. The same can be said of the main - the roast turbot with green sauce. Loved how the sweetness of the turbot is complemented by the refreshing green sauce.
It is exciting to see how Heston plays tribute to historical food, giving us a wonderful and memorable view. Not to mention impeccable service and great views of Hyde park.
S. D.
Excellent experience all-round. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left the service and attention to detail was flawless. The food was exceptional and it lived up to ALL the hype and fame.
Pros: Food - WOW! Must have the Meat Fruit starter. The fish in burnt butter sauce was fantastic as a main as was the duck. Sauces excellent.
Ice cream was excellent theatre and a good flavour.
Cons: Price (£18 starter/dessert, £45 main, £7.50 for chips), wine starts at £35. No surprises there - 2 Stars and all - but not a positive.
Plate was cold and food cooled too fast
Other than that it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.
L. C.
What a fantastic restaurant.
Magnificent setting and dining room. Great menu choices. The food was outstanding and quirky in places, exactly what you would expect from Heston!
Every course smelt amazing and looked just as beautiful as it tasted.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and helpful.
A must visit for all food lovers.
C. R.
We had a nice view on the open kitchen. It was amazing seeing all the chefs working under the pressure they must be on. The service was great. The food was great. The ambiance was great. Loved it.
N. G.
If you’re looking for some romantic place for your date night. This is a good choice!
Fine open kitchen. Good quality and delicious foods with professional service.
On the menu they make it even more interesting with the details and history of the dishes.
The restaurant located in Mandarin Oriental Hotel which is in the heart of London.
The place is very well decorated, luxurious and good atmosphere.
Variety of wines to pair with.
It’s usually busy and fully booked, so it’s a good idea to plan your trip and reserve a table in advance.
*Tipsy cake is crazily delicious!! Very recommended.
Btw, it takes 40mins to prepare this dish, so make sure you order enough.
a. z.
The overall experience at this place is adequate. Nothing is too exiting here except for the dessert. The presentation of the food is really good but they could work on the seasoning of their food.
Our waiter, Dion, was excellent. Very professional along with the other staff as well. Be sure to get a table with his area as he provided great service.
Their sauces could develop as most of them were cold and has a feeling of being served as if they were in a fast food chain by the taste of it. Not to mention the poor cook on the Fillet. Medium well was asked but I can assure you, it was well done.
They really should learn how to season their food as none of the food had any of it.
It’s a GOOD place but I have been to better.
A. T.
Incredible place to have dinner. Whilst it is quite expensive you definitely get what you pay for. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, the food is exquisite and the atmosphere is lovely. We had a table overlooking Hyde park which was a stunning backdrop to our meal. Make sure you have the tipsy cake and meat fruit!
I. D.
Located in the mandarin oriental London, dinner by Heston is very impressive. We waited in the bar where we were greeted and seated while we wait to go in to our long lunch reservation.
Cocktails were great be aware of the price if you are on a budget and don’t go crazy!
When we finally got seated, the restaurant was lovely. We chose from the a la carte menu our 3 courses. 2 entrees. A shared main and 2 desserts.
Entrees and main were delicious but the desserts I feel could have been done better.
We had:
Meat Fruit
Roast Marrowbone Royale
Bone in Rib of Hereford Prime for 2
Tipsy Cake
Brown Bread Ice Cream
Accompanied by a rose
I couldn’t fault the starters and main. Excellent potions as well and the meat was perfectly cooked. It was also a treat to see how old the recipes were.
4 stars because true the waiters were great but by the end of the afternoon they had forgotten to refill our wine glasses and I had to go get the wine bottle and do it ourselves ..... it wasn’t sitting next to us either
Pricing is not for the faint hearted but excellent for special occasions
C. G.
We had the chef's table for a friends special birthday. The whole experience was amazing, 9 courses with wine all of which we outstanding, we couldn't fault a single thing. Service was impeccable. Table had amazing views of the kitchen, an experience I won't forget
A. H.
We went there for birthday lunch, it's a lovely place, the atmosphere was amazing. My favorite dish is the meat fruit, looks like a real orange no matter from which angle. Price is actually not too expensive if you don't order alcoholic beverages.
L. M.
Beautiful place, lovely celebration
Came here for a special birthday and wow- what a place!
Meat fruit to start was divine, pigeon main was delicious and the triple cooked chips were amazing.
Cocktails were also lovely and there was a nice atmosphere.
I was surprised by a beautiful chocolate orange popping candy birthday cake which made the evening.
The only reason it doesn’t get 5* is that the cloakroom was very dysfunctional which was surprising in such an upmarket place. They had given people the wrong bags and took a long time trying to find our items.
l.
Excellent restaurant that always delivers high quality of food. If you want a break of tasting menus and wine pairings just head to Heston Blumenthal. Extensive wine list and amazing deserts will make a perfect night.
J. S.
Good value set lunch menu at £45 for three courses. Extras of sides, wine, water etc pushes this up to quite a hefty bill so bare in mind. Definitely worth a visit but not as blown away as I wanted to be.
K. M.
The Meat Fruit, Tipsy Cake and Eggs in Verjuice will remain in my mind and heart forever for their absolutely mind blowing taste and exciting appearance! Our main dishes where not as exceptional as their pricing suggested and apart from their great quality and decent appearance, their taste was regular and failed our reasonably high expectations. If we ever returned to this place it would be for the starters, desert and the impressive 70+ pages wine list!
K. T.
The food was amazing. The Sommelier was nice. The menu is very creative and based on thousands of hours of research by the two chef co-owners. The dining-room is chic but very plain. The server though was horrendous. I have a video of the liquid nitrogen ice cream trolley where the server is explaining the ingredients of the ice cream and all my friends who saw it were really shocked by how blatantly unenthused, monotonous, robotic the server is.
W. L.
Mandarin orange is a must-eat at Heston’s restaurant, it was good just as expected, light and full of flavours. Mains were good but nothing too out of the ordinary. There were some interesting flavours in most of the desserts and majority of them have fennel in it. As I’m not the greatest fan of fennel, I didn’t really like the both desserts that we ordered even though they looked very pretty.
A. M.
Fantastic restaurant. Deep and rich flavors, beautiful dishes, balanced lunch menu. One of the best fine dining ezperiences I've ever had. About 250 GBP for two for a fixed lunch with wine, deserts and coffee.
L. S.
How do I even begin to share the experience I had here?
From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, it was wonderful.
The food was sublime, the staff- not only were they friendly, but also so accommodating an knowledgeable.
I loved hearing about the history of the dishes.
I'm a firm believer that you can taste love and passion & Mr. Blumenthal's team delivered just that- love and passion on a plate.
I adored the natural lighting from the windows, plus that they went out of their way to acknowledge that it was my birthday and that I was also celebrating with my friend who had just had her own birthday. It was a special time for both of us to celebrate & we chose to do so in London and to make Hestons part of our experience.
Thank you.
I. C.
Dined here on Christmas Eve - Ordered from the ala carte menu...
Food - I thought everything was well prepared, particularly the meat fruit. I thought the grilled octopus was just alright. Tried something different for mains, the braised celery was surprisngly appetising.. My partner for the night thinks the portion of the steak is too much. It would be better with a smaller cut. Dessert was good with Tipsy cake - soft and fluffy with the right amount of alcohol.
Service - Very very good and attentive. The moment I return from the washroom, they would hurry to my seat and get it adjusted immediately. Sommelier was also very patient with us till we got the right glass of wine that fits our tastebuds. Can't fault anything at all since they treated us really well!
Overall: I thought that it was alright, meat fruit and tipsy cake certainly did impress me.
A. T.
Great food in a beautiful hotel. Loved every part of the dinner I had. Meat fruit was amazing, duck was flavourful and tender, and the tipsy cake was a decadent ending to the meal
E. R.
Absolutely a must in London. Great place with a lot of good vibes, incredible menu based in old England’s recipes, attentive staff and great selection of wines. Michelin and 50 best restaurant that brings to London the magic of Heston’s Fat Duck.
C. C. T.
I truly love this place. The dishes are hearty and the service is so warm and attentive and not at all pretentious.
Every dish here is a modern interpretation of an ancient dish dated hundreds years ago. I admire the chef’s ambition to revive the traditions.
I had the meat fruit, the ribeye, and the tipsy cake. The meat fruit is chicken liver purée wrapped in an orange flavor layer. The purée was light and fluffy in texture. The orange part gave a bitter refreshing kick to the purée. It went perfectly well with the toast.
The ribeye was very generous in portion. I ordered medium and think med rare might be even better. It’s good dry aged steak. What’s even more impressive are the two sides. Triple cooked chips and sprout hearts. The chips are crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. I was about to get regular ketchup but totally changed my mind after trying the mushroom ketchup with the chips. The sprout hearts as I was told are the hybrid between the Brussels sprouts and kale. It tastes perfectly bitter and healthy and like tiny broccoli rabe.
The tispy cake is one of their signature dishes. It’s brioche soaked in creamy custard with long roasted pineapple. It sounds simple but the flavor is so refined and delicate.
K. J.
I had an amazing meal here. It's not the best I've ever had for the price, but there's really not much to complain about. Just very good food, amazing service, and massively overpriced wines. It's worth going if you have a couple hundred pounds to get rid of, but there are better high end restaurants out there.
P. J. S.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Impeccable yet friendly service, delicious unpretentious food without foam or flowers, amazing wine list, elegant decor. Do not leave this place without starting with pate pretending to be a healthy mandarin orange and ending with the brioche dessert!!
J. S.
Had a wonderful evening at Dinner by Heston. The service was flawless, and the food tasted even better than it looked (and everything was stunning). To top it off they arranged a little birthday surprise for my girlfriend. Hoping to return to try the lunch menu soon.
D. T.
A lovely restaurant, quite deserving of two Michelin stars. The meat fruit is smooth and creamy, and our party enjoyed the succulent scallop entree. The fillet is extremely tender and very well cooked. The desserts were a highlight, and the pineapple brioche is a must!
L. B.
Excellent dinner with nicely paced service with a vie -- direct or indirect -- of the kitchen. The sommelier did a great job pairing our beef and pork with a nice Portuguese wine as well as sweet wines with dessert.
M. P.
Truly an excellent dinner. I showed up without a reservation (not recommended). I was alone so they were able to seat me about twenty minutes after I showed up. And things went uphill from there. I had an octopus frumenty (recipe from the forme of cury), a halibut and green sauce (a slightly more modern recipe from the 1400s) and a truly excellent dessert (there was also a side of chef Blumenthal's famous triple cooked fries). Overall I'd say one of my favorite meals of my life, definitely top 10 if not better. And all the others were with people I love while here I sat alone and mediated on the food. Would go again.
S. W. T.
Located at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, this restaurant has a bar for pre-meal drinks, separate from the main dining area. We ordered the powdered duck breast, roast turbot and fillet of Hereford beef. Service is excellent and we enjoyed ourselves.
T. O.
Beautiful food and drink with incredible staff. Knowledgeable about every dish with some personal stories too.
N. S.
Second time visiting, always amazing. The pork is to die for and there are no word to describe how tasty the food is. Just go. £350 for four people, with 2 courses each, one dessert, wine, 4 beers and juices. Not bad at all for a 2 Michelin star restaurant
T. S.
Wonderful evening for my birthday, 1st time in a Heston restuarant and i certainly wasn't disappointed from the cocktails with icebergs to through to dessert, thoroughly enjoyed it and will look to book Fat Duck for sure at some stage.
Service exceptional, all the staff were polite and a helpful. We did have a minor discrepancy but was dealt with swiftly and directly by the manager who also amended bill.
If your a Heston fan like me you wont be let down and even if your just a foodie looking for a high level gastronomic meal then look no further than a menu put togther by the UK most prestigious chef of past 15 years.
E. K.
Food was good... if it was just a normal restaurant. Not the greatest especially when knowing it has received 2 michelin stars and owned by a celebrity chef. Have had a lot better even from michelin 1stars and expected more from the hype and reputation. No wow factor to the food. Didn’t leave an amazing impression that would want me to come back again.
C. M.
Visited during our stop in London. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations. From the warm greeting at the door, to the beautiful decorations, to the wonderful food creations, everything was perfect.
W. J.
An "original" take on classical never-seen-again British good old cooking. Some nostalgia some are just out there (meat fruit? Snail porridge?) All fun, well executed and delicious. Service is fantastic.
G. K.
For such a gourmet place I would vote for our Stars. I've been in a couple of luxury restaurants in Greece, Paris and Belgium and I think they were better.
At first we had the bread and butter. The bread was very nice. With the appropriate humidity inside and very good crispy crust outside. The butter a bit warm at the point of not being melted and slightly salted on the flavor. Nothing special like the camelina sativa was obvious.
For starters we had the famous Meet fruit and the salamagundy. Unfortunately I don't eat liver so I cannot tell you anything about the meet fruit accept that it was wonderful to see it. The chicken oysters plate was very good. The chicken was very properly cooked, not dried and the vegetables had a nice smoked smell and the salsify was a surprise.
The main dishes were a "fillet of Hereford beef" with mushroom ketchup and triple cooked chips and the "roast iberico pork chop". The fillet was ordered rare and it came well done. Accept of that it was very soft and tasty. The chips were crunchy but they still had this "fish and chips" smell that runs the whole London.
The iberico pork looked very well cooked roasted at the outside and white in the inside, but finally it was not uniformly cooked despite that it had an "easy shape". It had a nice smoked smell but the meet itself had no flavor or aroma, you need to use the side sauce for it to be nice. The onion was very well cooked with a nice smell and so was the cabbage. The crispy pork skin was a nice surprise.
The wine list is a 70 page book with all kinds of wine from all around the world. Usually we don't drink red wine. We drink either white or rose. The sommelier finally came to "help" us proposing red wine with the meet dishes we've chosen. I told him I was thinking of a viognier. He just turn the pages to the French wines and there were 3 100% viognirrs on the catalogue. We took one of them. The bottle was always on his desk and I am not sure if he ever served us the final portions in the bottle.
The desserts were three. The tipsy cake, the chocolate drips and the eggs in verjuice. Lots are already written about he cake. It was very very good. The chocolate drops had a very fine chocolate flavor and the egg(s) were very interesting on the way they have prepared it to look exactly like an egg.
The service was very good. People were polite and always they talked to you. During our meal we noticed that the menu advisor spend about 7 minutes to the table next to us explaining all the details about the dishes. Thing that it didn't happened for us probably because we were young and without wearing our suits.
A. W. (.
Lovely atmosphere.
I had the 5 course menu and unfortunately was left a little disappointed since I expected a little more of a 2 Michelin star restaurant.
I added a picture of the dish which was the worst part of my lunch experience.
- bad presentation
- overpowering sauce
- mediocre
However, the desserts were exceptional.
Rustic cuisine without twists or excitement but nice and worth the visit.

Fair warning, if you are not huge on sitting for long meals that can last up to 4 hours, do not order the set course menu. Service immaculate, food gets better and better. But all good things (food in this case) come to those who wait.
D. M.
Every dish I had was outstanding, the staff were exceptionally knowledgeable about all the dishes. I can't fault the experience in any way.
b. “. 1.
Absolutely brilliant superb staff , food was a dream , expensive as you would expect but so well worth it for special occasions . And if you can afford it a weekly treat .
Y. T.
Great service, good food. I got to try meat fruit finally and it did not disappoint. Is it a Michelin 2*? Maybe not. Do I regret coming here? No. I would still recommend it to friends and family.
R. W.
Technically perfectly cooked food. Unfortunately flavours weren't to my liking but am well aware this is a personal preference given the perfect execution of cooking techniques. The meat fruit certainly is the highlight and deserves its acclaim.
P. C.
Absolutely worth the money. Out of the world flavour. Superb service, we were even shown the kitchen!
X. W.
Pretty solid execution for every dish. Chicken oyster with bone marrow was super good, otherwise nothing mind blowing. Good service.

Interesting combinations and great food in general

Efficient service and very good food. Good views of Hyde Park for some tables , but unfortunately I didn"t get a table with a view of the park .The chicken which I had as a main was tender and tasty . British cheese board delicious , as was the petit four which was served to us at the end of our meal. Only caveat is that the food is on the salty side(I"m ok with that) , and we had to wait quite a while after our appetizer for the main course.
G. O.
5 Stars all the way. Restaurant is beautiful with very High ceilings and a great open space. The menu is designed perfectly. Starter, entree, dessert. Everything is perfect, the meat fruit is one of my favorite dishes of all time.
N. K.
Well, it's Heston's restaurant, so of course the food is good. The ambiance is quite normal except for this pendulum contraption that I think roasts the pineapple which is one of their desserts. The service is great of course.
This place is great since there is a menu and you get to pick what you want rather than having an entire course.
A. H.
Excellent gastronomic experience...delicious food, wine menu and atmosphere. The finale with liquid nitrogen ice cream was great.
V. C.
We went here for (evening) dinner. It is located up a short flight of stairs and through the wine 'cellar' behind glass walls inside the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel, itself right next to one of the entrances to Knightsbridge underground station.
The restaurant was sleek with excellent service (if very formal - but I suppose that's mandatory in a 2 Michelin star venue). The classic dishes when the restaurant launched are all there and do not seem to have changed greatly. Salamagundy (with: Chicken oysters, salsify, marrowbone, horseradish cream & pickled walnuts) was delicious. Meat fruit (Mandarin, chicken liver parfait & grilled bread) still looks stunning and tastes delicious though I would prefer thinner toast. Brown bread ice cream (with: Salted butter caramel, pear & malted yeast syrup) was unfortunately overpowered by the taste of the ice cream and indeed the waiter points out that one should have each spoonful of ice cream with the syrup and other parts of the dish. Even so, it didn't work for me. The tipsy cake on the other hand is another classic from the first year of the restaurant and I forgot how delicious the brioche 'cake' is. It works very well with the grilled pineapple. Do have a look at the impressive spit roast for the pineapples next to the kitchen.
The food is expensive - starters are about £20, mains are £30-50 and even desserts are £15 each. The bill also seems to include a £1 charity donation by default as well as service charge. Wine by the glass starts from about £8. There is a cheaper set lunch menu but the classic dishes are not available on that. It is a restaurant worth going to at least once for the meat fruit and tipsy cake.
B. T.
Service was remarkable, it's almost as if they could read my mind. They brought out extra toast part way through my meat fruit, as I still had a lot of chicken liver left and not as much toast. The execution of the meat fruit, ribeye, triple fried chips, cabbage, and tipsy cake was superb. And the wine pairing was the perfect accompaniment to my meal. Definitely a must for any foodie.
They were also very accommodating for my friend who is Muslim and cannot eat any non-halal meat or alcohol. Our server was able to work out several modified menu items for her to choose from. 2 Michelin stars well deserved!
Y. C.
We were really looking forward to our dinner at Dinner By Heston. Service and dishes were perfect! Highly recommend the Tipsy Cake which was really really delicious!
D. P.
Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had.
We came here the day after our wedding and when mentioning the staff could not do enough for us.
Food was exquisite and beautifully presented.
We shall be returning again soon because of the sheer quality.
S. M.
Lovely food - a great twist on historic meals. Fantastic cocktails. Service is incredible. Well worth every penny
K. G.
Almost perfect! Beautiful food, friendly but not over bearing staff, warm surroundings... But they still serve plastic straws with their cocktails!
M. D. P.
Superb food and service. I had the snails and quail which I wouldn’t normally order but they were delicious. You may need to book in advance to get a spot.
Z.
Not the wacky and innovative food we expect from Heston. Food was excellent, for the most part, but the price tag by far exceeded the overall quality of the experience. There are restaurants all over London that serve food which is just as good at half the price. Without the Heston dramatics this is just an OK place.
S. K.
Went for lunch, and was impressed by the great service and food. You will have the option to have the set menu or the a la carte. The drinks menu is also extensive.
K. L.
Easily the best meal I had in London, and one of my overall favorites. Everything I had was amazing, a real treat for the taste buds. The wine recommendations were spot on. Service was impeccable.
A. C.
This was a really nice restaurant, quiet lunch but still a good vibe. The lunch menu was great and we opted for the paired wine with the lamb. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, all round, very good!
G. Y.
The food is great! but the atmosphere is kind of businessy, feels formal, and quite dim. Not fond of that kind of interior. But the food is great!
G. .. A.
Amazing food, the 'meat fruit' was delicious. Overall an unforgettable experience!
W. K.
Amazing dinner experience with superb services, the team is extremely helpful making the occasion extra special. Not to mention the excellent food, especially the choice of starters! Don’t miss the meat fruit, Earl grey salmon and tipsy cake. :)
朱.
perfect cook steak tender duck breast the desert was amazing the portions of single steak was too small but the rib eye for two has enough portion
P. J.
A fantastic experience that was fun and tasty. Heston’s fans are not to be missed.
D. L.
Had a wonderful time, easily managed to fit 12 of us into a lovely private room, and managed to exceed expectations, despite all our international dietary requirements. Would highly recommend the wine pairing. Staff are extremely knowledgeable especially needed when experiencing the menu from 1300 to 1800 recipes. A wonderful time had by all. Thank you!
A. F.
Celebrated 2 special Birthdays with my amazing friends. We absolutely loved it. We were made to feel special, staff were amazing, friendly and so so efficient. Food was out of this world, it was undoubtedly an experience I will never forget ❤
G. F.
Great experience! Restaurant itself is nice, but not overly elegant/formal compared to other competitors. The staff were lovely and so attentive throughout our whole meal!
The food was everything id hoped for, everything was absoulutly amazing. I could list the dishes we had but I think they are probably all great and I'm keen to return to try out more of the dishes!
s. f.
Went here for lunch. Chose to avoid the set menu and go for the big stuff. I would recommend you come here feeling hungry and with enough spare cash not to worry about what you order. The food the ambience the staff deserve it- as of course you do. Tipsy cake and meat fruit are an absolute must!!
J. S.
The food was Excellent, think my son had Sea Bream but fell in love with the Thick doorstep sized chips he ordered.
The Savoy and the Savoy Grill are simply beautiful inside, the staff were polite and professional and mostly left us alone so we could chat.
J. L. B.
Everything was yummy but too expensive for what the food is. The entrees are worth the price but the main meals were just a bit lacking good but just not what you would expect for the price.
K. K.
We had the pleasure to dine here in 2019, out first visit was some years earlier, before the renovation. The service and attention to detail is second to none. The servers are always there, but not in your way. The food and atmosphere is absolutely amazing. We got a seating in front of the kitchen and we got to see the entire team preparing the meals. We really didn't want to leave! An amazing evening with fantastic food and stratospheric service. Our new favorite London restaurant. Highly recommended.
G. V.
We had a lovely time. The food was great, the service attentive and friendly, the atmosphere very relaxed. We had a table with a view on the kitchen and it was great to see the chefs at work. Highly recommended.
M. M.
This was nearly wonderful. Food was creative and outstanding. Then Heston himself showed up to dine and we felt completely abandoned. All staff focused on him and what was attentive helpful service turned into us desperately looking for the check to call it an evening.
J. L.
I would say it’s worth trying, but it didn’t really live up to the hype. The setting is as others have described: a restaurant which looks like the place they serve the breakfast buffet! Food was good and tasty, but I didn’t get the wow factor I was expecting. I’m not sure how this place justifies 2 Michelin stars, other than being associated with Heston.
A. B.
Great expectations for this famous two Michelin stars restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental.
The very big dining room is beautifully facing the park.
The restaurant concept developed by the famous Heston Blumenthal is definitely very intriguing: recovering old British recipes and providing them in a modern context. This is a not easy intellectual and cultural exercise that deserves applause.
The execution can be wonderful, like the celebrated fruit meat, which is an unbelievable experience. Even if this dish is famous, getting it in front of you is still surprising. An apparently simple dish which perfectly combines everything you expect in food. Aestetically simple but beautiful, surprising when you slice it and perfectly balanced when you eat it.
Very good also the Tipsy Cake with a hot brioche served with a slowly roasted pineapple.
Less extraordinary the main dishes, which are very well prepared but where it is difficult to spot anything extremely original.
Good wine list strongly focused on France and with some old vintages.
Surprising for this level of restaurant the lack of an amuse bouche, a post dessert offered at a cost, the lack of clothes on the tables and how close these are positioned.
M. M.
It's expensive, yes. But it's worth each penny! I never had such a good vegetarian meal, starting with a delicious Risotto and as a main some braised celery with walnuts and parmesan. And the bread you get as a starter, is probably the best bread you can get in the whole UK.
H. L.
A must visit for every foodie out there. Everything is executed perfectly, is interesting and very tasty. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Will come back. Many times if possible 😄
M. T.
Had my graduation dinner here and it was amazing. Loved every single one of my dishes: meat fruit, steak, triple cooked chips and the tipsy cake. Definitely worth the price.
G. Y. T.
still living up the standards after so many years! a must go fine dining place in london!
S. N.
Fab professional, knowledgeable and courteous staff, The Food was deliciously rich...ambience was aaaaahhh and our have table with view of hyde park. Magic!!
H. E.
The whole experience of our dining was fabulous. The food was a tasteful delight and the staff were so generous and kind and thoughtful with their care and attentiveness. We shall be visiting again to experience some more of the delicious food.
P. B.
We had a really nice dinner here for my Wife's 60th birthday. However, I would say that we're not sure it lived up to expectations and was expensive for the quality we got. We had the steak for 2 for our main and there was quite a lot of fat and gristle.
D. S.
Meat fruit, fillet with triple cooked chips and tipsy cake.
Awesome. Simply fantastic.
S. N.
Excellent food and service. I was fascinated by the fact the dishes on the menu were inspired by British culinary history and the modern day. I thought that this was a must-try. I went here for an evening meal the other week.
For my starter, I had the frumenty, for my main the black foot pork chop with a side order of chips and dessert, the famous tipsy cake. I also had a glass of french grape juice, which was quite sweet but had a slightly sour aftertaste, it was very nice. The frumenty was very unique. The octopus was delicious, very soft and tender, as well as full of flavour. The smoked sea broth it came in added a very unusual, sour and salty but yet pleasant taste to the dish. The main course was fabulous. The pork chop was juicy and tender. The fat content was just right for me. The Robert Sauce complimented it very well. The vegetables were very tasty and I could tell that a lot of effort had been put into preparing them. The chips were excellent, assuming they were made to Heston's classic triple cooked chips recipe. Crisp on the outside and fluffy in the inside, which is what makes a perfect chip. The dessert was special. The spit roast pineapple had a tangy and rich flavour to it. Although, I'm personally not a fan of brioche, the tipsy cake was really great and it had a subtle flavour of spices. And it went very well with the pineapple. A small jammy dodger brought the perfect finish to the meal.
The final bill was a liitle over £131, which isn't too bad. Definitely worth the money. Staff were very polite and attentive. They brought me the 1st edition of one of Heston's cookbooks, which was interesting to look through. Will definitely be going back to try other dishes, definitely the Meat Fruit and possibly the famous liquid nitrogen ice cream or Sambocade.
D. B.
We were 10 and had the private room off the main restaurant. The food was excellent though my wife, who is vegetarian, was a little bit underwhelmed.
My starter (the mandarin parfait) was exceptional. The fifth star is lost for hospitality.
My friend was celebrating his 50th birthday and was staying at the hotel. Mr & Mrs Green.
Affording a table for pre-dinner drinks and then afterwards seemed to be a bit of a challenge to the staff. Their attitude was unacceptable. I mention Oliver as he was attending to us, but only adequately.
Quite simply, not what one would expect from such an establishment. Clearly placing cash before service. Disappointed.
S. J.
Outstanding food, Excellent service, eating out in the terrace area qas absolutely lovely
V. J.
Superb venue, excellent service and the food was exquisite. Bit dear but that was factored in when booking the restaurant. Menu is varied, staff informative of food choices and generally a fantastic place to eat. Booked it for our 10 year wedding anniversary and would highly recommend it.
Y. V.
We celebrated my wife's birthday there, the whole experience was magnificent! I would give it a 3rd Michelin star if i could
T. S.
Stunning food, great location. Went here for a 40th birthday meal, with high expectations and was not disappointed. The service was impeccable, all of the staff were very knowledgeable about what was being served, a most enjoyable evening
N. O.
Simply the best meal ever. Not just because of the quality of the food, as you would expect, but the staff, and I mean ALL the staff, made us feel truly valued, and my 11 year old son had the night of his life!
C. W.
Exquisite. Great atmosphere, amazing food, delicious wine, excellent service, beautiful surroundings. Cannot fault it.
S. N.
Loved the food and staff was very friendly. Was somewhat pricy but was expected as it's in expensive location.
R. W.
We had lunch at this peaceful and beautiful place in January shortly after we landed. Outstanding staff, very considerate, loved the salmon & caviar dish and the dessert. After such a pleasant experience, I will stop by here every time I visit London.
P. F.
Probably one of the best places I've been for an evening meal. Staff very attentive and all courses of food stunning. Very expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for here. We'll worth for a special treat at the very least.
E. M.
Good food as you would expect, pandemic friendly with attentive and hygienic staff
M. W.
Appetizers were stellar. Ribeye tasted dry to me and califlour was a little burnt. Expected better.
Y. W.
Simply outstanding! it deserves all the praise and what a fantastic meal I must say. Service was also amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and very well coordinated.
A place I will always recommend and visit again.
Thank you for the great dinner!
J. L.
Rice and flesh is the best, along with the chocolate drops dessert. Both were utter revelations. Never have I ever!
B. W.
One of the best restaurants in London. Great food and wines. So lucky to sit at the chief’s table.
Z.
Amazing tasty food and very pleasant to the eye.could nit fault the service and attentiveness
D. D.
Great restaurant for a business dinner in London. When it comes to business dining, a restaurant reputation for attracting movers and shakers is just as important as its ability to serve a stellar meal.
The restaurant looks lavish and prestige, but very comfortable and welcoming.
All the dishes were exciting and delicious the flavours were first time experiences. The menu is designed perfectly. Everything is perfect, the meat fruit is one of my favorite dishes of all time.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and helpful.
Absolutely everything you’d expect, and much more.
A must visit for all food lovers.
K. W.
Fantastic cooking. You definitely pay for it but the food was outstanding.
L. H.
Amazing starters and they cater for celiacs too! The mains are not the same level but will definitely come again for the meat fruit
A. T.
Always an amazing evening. The food is obviously amazing but the service is exceptional and the venue is fantastic whether in a group or on a date. The distance between tables and the atmosphere manages to be perfect every time I go. Always a much anticipated treat for us
Y. Y. C.
Went for set lunch on Friday. Starters were average but the main courses were very good. Well flavoured.
G.
Great place to dine if you have the cash. The steak was absolutely delicious. Meat Fruit was great too!
D. W.
Lived up to my high expectations of lunch @ Dinner. Love the theme of old recipes coming to life with Hestons touch of theatre. Would gladly dine here again
D. C.
Fantastic food. You certainly pay for it, but very good service. Food baby.
S.
Fantastic staff super friendly and professional food was great too and they were great at following covid guidelines too. Steak was delicious!
J. S.
A big fan of it here. Been a few times and it's always kept the same high standards for both the food and the service!
M. W. N.
Exceptional and vert attentive service. Be sure to consider for a special occassion.
K. L.
Absolutely delicious, do not leave without getting the tipsy cake!!!
E. D.
Amazing experience, great food with unique presentation!
A. A.
Quiet simply amazing feed not a fault to be found. You have to try the meat fruit and pinapple signature dessert.
A. D. O.
Absolutely beautiful meat fruit and Tipsy Cake, with faultless service. My main (cod) was slightly bland but the meal started and ended with a bang!
T. D.
Staffs: 5* (extremely nice and lovely)
Food: 4* tipsy cake, squid re out standing dishes
Place: 3* normal decoration
S. G.
Food was excellent. Knew that it would be good anyways wanted to have the experience and it was amazing.

Loved it. Very different. Wines excellent. Service exemplary. Not cheap.

Visit : Lunch / couple / weekday
As photos and unfortunately only getting around to type some words now.
Fantastic. We have tried to visit here on numerous trips to the Uk but have never been able to get the timing right along with getting a booking however the positive for us with all this current virus hyperbole is that we had a park side seat + fantastic service from start to finish and a superb meal. The majority of the staff we encountered were Italian and exceptionally good.
As for the menu - the highlight for me was the pork belly main which was extremely tender and spot on with the flavour - we went with the wine pairing and though i would have gone with a slightly aromatic white they had paired it with a dry red. Our lunch was relatively quick for us at just under 3 hours and we could easily have enjoyed for longer - next time it will be dinner.
S. G.
Excellent food and nice, friendly staff.
This Restaurant has a strict no dogs policy -
(except guide dogs).
This Restaurant does not except pitbulls as emotional support animals which upsets some people - especially pitbull advocates.
But this Restaurant is one of the best i have ever been to.
Do NOT visit this Restaurant if you are a pitbull lover as this Restaurant does NOT accept pitbulls as emotional support animals.
Only visit this Restaurant if you love food and are happy with the strict no pitbull policy.
S.
Pleasant experience but overpriced. The meal was nothing extraordinary and perhaps 30% too high. As often the case, so is the wine. Great service however as was our company.
M. S. C.
A cosy restaurant that serves excellent food, also I would like to add that the staff was beyond friendly, all in all it was an excellent lunch.
C. P.
Incredible food and atmosphere, the private dining room is amazing for a group too.
D. B.
A journey into the past of British cooking great tipsy cake wonderful truffle mash great service beautiful dining room can’t wait to return
J. H.
I made my third visit here in June 2021 because the food is sublime and service perfect. Meat fruit and Tipsy cake are not to be missed. The way the chicken dishes are cooked/prepared is really unique and I can"tell actually describe it but it's not any average chicken dish that's for sure. The food is suprising and exquisite.
P. A.
Our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. The food and service were impeccable. However, would we go there again? probably not. We felt the menu was limited and drinks were overpriced.
E. C.
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is located inside the Mandarian Oriental hotel. We arrived a few minutes before opening time at lunch, so the bartender took our drink orders while we waited. I got the Gosling's Black Seal Rum because I always love ginger beer. This was one of the best crafted cocktails I've ever had!
The interior is elegant and modern, with lots of light coming from the large windows overlooking Hyde Park. Throughout the meal, our server Madeline was wonderful, attentive without being overbearing. In fact, I liked the atmosphere in the restaurant, as it seemed classy without being stuffy. People trickled quickly, and the room was bustling in no time.
Of course had to order the Instagram-famous meat fruit. I thought it was good, certainly a unique creation and flavor. My wife actually loved it, proclaiming it her favorite course that day, and one of her favorite dishes of all time. Next was the 3 course lunch, with my selections being Potted Pork, Salmon Dressed in Champagne, and Chocolate Tart. What can you say that hasn't already been described with much more complexity by food critics. It was all amazing. When dining becomes this fine, it is honestly hard for the average person to nitpick at any aspect of the flavors. They've been meticulously planned and perfected over the years. All I could do was savor each bite and enjoy being in that moment. I will say, the salmon was one of the best entrees I've ever had. As a bonus, it was presented like a work of art.
Afterwards, we got a bonus desert that was decorated with gold, and even had some solid espresso before finishing up. For the cost of 45 pounds per person, the lunch menu is an excellent value! Even though there are several Michelin star options in London, I would gladly come back to this restaurant in the future.
S. P.
Absolute fantastic dinner! Thank you so much ☺️
D. C.
If you are going to spend serious money on food as in 150 plus per head you don't just want it done properly, but you want something interesting this is delicious stuff as well
W. Y. W.
Very good as expected. The starter was exceptional. But very expensive, will not go again.
A. S.
Great restaurant - food was perfect. Would recommend to anyone stopping by Westminster
T. K.
Beautiful restaurant! Gourmet food, 😌 best service! All you need!! Highly recommended
S. G.
A beautiful meal with the best service one can ask for. Made my day. Will be sure to visit again.
A.
Lovely setting and fantastic service by the staff food was great as expected!
A. S.
Everything is prepared to perfection: food, wine, ambient, service. All outstanding
L. H. Z.
A fantastic experience, good service and delicious options of dishes and beverages.
N. W.
Continues to be one of my favourite Michelin Starred establishments in London. Great service and consistently good food.
t. f.
It doesn't get any better than this, by far one of the best experience ever. Great food, great ambience and fabulous service.
r. l.
Been there 3 times
You must try the tipsy cake!!!!
And the meat fruit - crazy!!!!
a. w.
Had a great time great food and nice friendly staff would recommend the experience
R. M.
Not only the the best meal I’ve ever had, the best experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant
j. W.
Amazing experience, had a little tour of the kitchen and the themed room. As a first time going to a restaurant this fancy I would definitely recommend anyone to go and we will be going back again.
D. R.
impeccable, delicate and endearing chefs with a laser focus and un paralleled attention to their art
W. W.
Creative cuisine at its best. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.
T. A.
This an expensive restaurant but the food is really good. The service is great, the interior is lovely but the food is really good....oh yeah, I said that already. I'll recommend the Dinner any day.
J. A.
Had the chefs table 6 course menu, the experience was fantastic with the head chef explaining the concept of the dishes and we were sat right next to the kitchen which was very interesting. The food itself was delicious as expected, would highly recommend the duck and the tipsy pineapple!
K. S.
This was our second visit to this restaurant. First time we were very impressed, but this time the whole experience was a bit underwhelming.
Firstly staff were polite, but the service is nowhere near to what you would expect from 2 Michelin stars. Very slow and basic.
We had a 3 course meal and it took over 3 hours! Most of which was spend waiting and waiting and even more waiting…
The portions were so small that even by trying to eat slowly we finished food in about 10 minutes and had to wait for another hour to get a next dish. Food is tasty, but main course and starter was not enough to fill me up. I had fish and it was very small. Meat dishes looked a bit bigger. Desert look very pretty (chocolate pearls), but taste was nothing more that overwhelming sweetness. Won’t be rushing to come here again.
Y. C.
All the dishes were so good and perfectly executed. We also loved that each dish was quite unique and stylistically different from other (french) fine dining places we are used to. Our favorite dishes were oxtopus starter and pigeon main dish as well as the pineapple dessert!
The service was friendly and attentive. Would love to come again.
j. h.
J.
Is this place expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Definitely, for a special occasion. We went to celebrate our engagement and the food did not disappoint! I had the rice and flesh followed by the pigeon, both cooked to perfection, and the fiance had the meat fruit and venison, also superb. The staff are extremely attentive and knowledgeable, engaging in conversation with us, one even giving us some recommendations for our upcoming move to Melbourne. We had a great view of the kitchen and it was nice to see the staff so calm and relaxed as they prepared the food. We finished the evening with a surprise special order choc mandarin cake so decadent that we couldn't finish. Highly recommend.
S. J.
We especially liked the Thai curry with chicken. Lovely staff and the kid's menu was good too.
A. Y.
Delicious!! The set lunch menu was £45 each and it was affordable. Highly recommend.
S. H.
We hadn't been for a while, but just as good as we remembered. Won't leave it as long next time!
R. K.
A simply incredible meal that lived up to all the hype. I can personally recommend the salmon, the rib eye, and the tipsy cake.
K. A.
Amazing food. Very classy restaurant as located in mandarin oriental (dress accordingly as I didn't know and was underdressed!) very very reasonable price for two star Michelin. Famous dishes are meat fruit, tipsy cake and the nitrogen ice cream. All worth a try.
G. B.
Overall a pleasant experience and good food.
However, considering this is a 2 Michelin star restaurant I expected a bit more.
Service was polite but a bit slow.
R.
The food is one the best you can get in London. Excellent location, presentation and service. I would say everyone should give it 5 stars if you compare it to others.
Y. C.
Excellent good in a posh hotel. Good value for $ for the lunch set.
A. G.
Incredible views directly into the kitchen, watching the team of chefs work on each masterpiece with care and precision. Enjoyed the 3 course set lunch menu, got lucky with a dessert being unavailable, meaning we were offered the famous tipsy cake as a replacement - no hesitation to enjoy some of the finest food London has to offer.
J. F.
Heston Blumenthal's "other" restaurant is consistently spot on. His tipsy cake may have no equal among desserts worldwide.
R. C.
Wow what an experience! A surprise visit here from my other half as Heston is my favourite chef, it did not disappoint. The knowledgeable staff are amazing, the food and drink were spectacular and the whole experience was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
K. C.
Fun environment, some creative options though service was a bit lacking that night. Make sure to get the pineapple dessert!
S. L.
We had a variety of appetizers, mains, and puddings. It was quite good and above average, but also there is nothing much that would make me go back to ne frankly.
A. P.
Pricey but delicious, wonderful service and a really special treat. Always order the Tipsy Cake for dessert.
타.
quite expensive restaurant, but value for money
C. S.
V. L.
Sublime experience - everything was perfect (as you'd expect for the price)!
We dined here for my partner's birthday. The menu, is as you'd expect from a Heston Blumenthal establishment, somewhat eccentric yet everything I had was excellent. My octopus starter was tender, sweet and fresh. The Pork chop was crispy and juicy.
We had ordered a birthday cake for dessert and this was presented with suitable aplomb.
Overall, a fantastic experience.
F. C. Y. L.
Maybe it was the Christmas menu, but there wasn't anything surprising or extraordinary.
N. R.
Absolutely amazing food as you'd expect (although at prices you'd expect too).
I didn't feel that the back story to each dish really translated to the dish itself (which was simply a decent dish).
The kitchen was very well prepared and accommodating for any dietary requirements which was very impressive.
The staff were at times a little over the top in the choreographed wine pouring, and more enthusiastic than most of the guests.
The house wines (well, the 2 that were affordable) were outstanding.

Great food and nice atmosphere… You’ll definitely enjoy it!

I was really looking forward to going to Heston's restaurant after having watched his TV shows. I had expected a more experimental menu, however it was more of a typical fine dining experience. That being said, it was exceptionally good.
The starter of scallops with pea and mint puree was incredible. The scallops were so tender they may as well have been butter.
The highlight of the meal was the 24hr roasted pineapple that came with a stunning brioche cooked in a vanilla bean sauce. Absolutely divine!
Cocktails were also delicious, so too was the wine. Service was top notch. We were given a tour of the kitchen after our meal which was a real highlight for a foodie like myself. I was able to ask all sorts of questions and see the kitchen in full swing. Was an amazing experience.
Cant wait to go back!

It lost a star (only just) because we felt the service could have been better for this calibre of restaurant. For example at times we were left a little too long between the waiters coming over to check if we wanted drinks and our plates prior to desert were left empty and messy on our table for what felt like a while. Seems petty but let’s remember this is one of the top restaurants! The food was extremely good and we thoroughly enjoyed every course, choosing to order from the menu rather than the set menu so we could sample exactly what we wanted. All washed down with Champagne and several cocktails, again all very well made. Two people, 4 courses and several drinks each set us back just short of £400 including service charge. The atmosphere is nice, restaurant is classy and our table by the windows opposite Hyde Park was one of the best (ask for a window seat).
J. E.
I was here over the bank holiday weekend as a couple for my birthday and loved it.
Staff were really friendly and knowledgable. We were sat by the window and really enjoyed the ambiance of the room.
To start we ordered the Rice and Flesh and the Meat Fruit. Both were amazing, but for me the rice and flesh edged it. It was really rich and delicious and the meat was perfect. The portion was also spot on, overheard it can also be had as a main too.
For the main, I played the boring birthday card and went for the Hereford steak which was cooked perfectly. I was a little underwhelmed by the chips, but that's not to say they weren't tasty. The other half has the duck and it was beautifully pink and tender.
For desserts, I went for the Tipsy cake. I'm still pretty set on the opinion that it's the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. The brioche and custard was so light and delicious and goes to well with the pineapple. The other half had the goats milk cheesecake and it was really light and delicious with a salted biscuit Center that gave a lovely contrast.
Would definitely recommend a meal here to anyone, really reasonable prices, great service and a nice atmosphere.
D. M.
Lovely service but I was not blown away by the food. The ‘meat fruit’ starter was delicious and the ‘tipsy cake’ for dessert is definitely recommended. However we shared several dishes amongst our party and I would not pick out any other dish as outstanding or unusual - as you might expect from Heston. Overall, a bit pricy for what you get.
V. V.
Amazing food. My favourite dish was the beet and saffron risotto. We didn't have the signature meatfruit dish but we would a next time. It looked really beautiful. Also the ice cream they make at your table was spectacular. Great wine selection as you would expect.
R. K.
Wow! I am very impressed with the service and the food from the octopus starter to the wonderful Tipsy cake dessert that we just had to have another serving of! My steak was the best well-done steak I had ever had, the salad was lovely, mashed potatoes creamy and the service was absolutely wonderful. Thank you for making my birthday extra special!
H.
Food five shining stars. I have a hard time complying with negative reviews over what's on the plate here. Even the bread is top notch.
I find myself dining here after many years abundance. Why? you may ask. London was my home and now it isn't. But certain places /memories remain and deserve being repeated. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal ticks all the boxes. Fabulous views over Hyde Park, located within the Mandarin Oriental, cool co diners, impeccable service and nice ambiance.
2 stars down is for the ridiculous calculation on wine 🙄. Take 1 bottle and pay for - erm - between 5 and 10 depending on your pick. Fettes double dislike vom Love Priest 👎🏻👎🏻
M. S.
Promises a lot but fails to produce anything "Heston". Everything you would expect from a five star hotel. Quality ingredients, good (but not outstanding) service, safe cooking, elevated prices. Four course set menu £125 + service. Wine flight for 10 people £1300 + service. Two star Michelin prices, and only one dish (Meat fruit) to one star level.
N. N.

I had the meat fruit... O my it was amazing. I will definitely be back. But first im trying some of your other beautiful restaurants. You truly are a master.
E. F.
Simply one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. The menu is original with a wide selection of creative dishes which are all put together and presented wonderfully. The wine selection is wonderful and the one recommended by the sommelier was perfect for our food choices.
The restaurant itself is smartly finished and is suitable for a relaxed lunch or an evening dinner and the staff and service were brilliant. They were knowledgeable about the food they were serving and were happy to answer any questions we had about the ingredients.
Flavours throughout all our dishes were exquisite and the ice cream factory at the end was a really fun end to the meal!
A perfect dinner and worth every penny!
T. F.
5 stars are not enough for this incredible restaurant. Wonderful food and service, amazing experience. Staff really polite and yet friendly, Chef is a wonderful person, sweet and welcoming. Definitely reccomend for everything, not a single thing I didn't like. Outstanding!!!
A. T.
Amazing food. Great service.
C. S.
Update: On our second visit the food was again exceptional. Definitely coming back next time we are in London.
One of the best meals I have ever had. Tomato Salamagundy was incredible, and I don't even like tomatoes. Liquid nitrogen ice cream is nice, but feels a bit dated in terms of modern cuisine.
P. T.
Could not get any better service and a warm welcome. Food excellent. Absolutely fantastic a must
R. A.
Food experience was amazing, we tried a nice array of meat fish and vegetables, all tasted delicious and very fresh. The Mandarin orange was my favourite and most exciting! Only issue is that the food took a very long time between courses, not sure if this a fancy restaurant strategy but we were there for ages because of waiting for or next course. Other than that the atmosphere is great and the staff is lovely.
J. G.
The food is excellent as well as the service.
A. I.
If this app had 6 starts, that's what I'd be awarding. The venue is excellent, tucked away in the back of the Mandarin Oriental hotel. The food is famously delicious and deserves all the awards and praise it gets. A table near the kitchen allowing you to look in through the glass walls is worthwhile. What really makes this restaurant exceptional for me is the service. Relentlessly faultless and helpful from the moment you arrive, while you eat and then when you leave. Whoever trained and manages this team can be very proud of what they've achieved. I was with a lesser abled person and the help they received was brilliant. A fantastic restaurant.
A. E.
I've only been here twice, but if I lived closer and money was never a constraint that number would be much higher already. I think this restaurant is a top restaurant for very good reason. Try the meat fruit. Have the duck. The steak. The tipsy cake. The chocolate dessert. Really, I can't complain about a thing. The service and atmosphere is an experience you wont forget, especially if - like me - you come from a poorer background.
c. l.
Great dinner, perfect for a special occasion. Food and service didn't disappoint
s. e.
Perfect. Wow. Very Good food and very good atmosphere
K. B.
We've been three times now so it's definitely worth a trip if you've never been; but by the third time the menu is a bit staid. Service while good can be a bit patchy with some of the usual class snobbery. We went once during Chinese New Year and the patrons I think must have been causing everyone headaches including the staff because the service was terrible. While it's expensive, the plates are well portioned, unique when pitted against contemporary restaurants, so not exorbitant. The liquid nitrogen ice cream is always a winner even though you're bursting at the seems when it comes.
I've always thought Chicken's Oysters were the best bit of the animal and it's good to find someone else agrees with me.
J. W.
A wonderful setting for a special occasion. The food is as inventive as it is delicious (very!) and comes in surprisingly large portions for a restaurant of this type.
The wine list is suitably daunting but expertly explained by the friendly sommelier. The waiting staff were all attentiveand friendly and i really cannot find fault in anything here!
I'm not going to comment on value for money as you know what you are signing up for when you come here.
N. S.
Dinner is as excellent as ever. The dishes look classic, as they inspired from (very) old ones, but they taste second to none. It's the third time we've been here and it still impresses us.
J. V.
The restaurant is beautiful designed, the service is flawless and the food amazing. It truly feels like a double Michelin starred experience, and you definitely pay for it. Whilst every dish I tried was very good and beautifully presented, I just left without that feeling that I had truly experienced something unique like I'd expect from a 2 starred Michelin restaurant / top 50 of the world. Perhaps I'm being too harsh as I don't have a single flaw to point out, but I don't feel like I've a particularly memorable moment either - only reason why I'm not giving it the 5 start it probably deserves.
N. N.
Yup - food, drinks, and service were all great - just what we expected from a Heston restaurant! Had the meat fruit (loved the presentation), fillet beef (medium rare done just perfectly), and the goat cheesecake, which were all lovely. Neat to also know a bit about when the dishes originated!
I. T.
Food, Atmosphere & service was excellent. The salmon is arguably the best salmon I've had in my life, and the tipsy cake is definitely one of a kind. Their lunch menu for £45 is really reasonable too. Would definitely recommend!
M. F.
Staff and setting were wonderful but it's certainly not value for money. Food was good and I certainly could have eaten 10 portions of the tipsy cake (don't focus on the 4 hour spit roasted pineapple...the brioche is what makes it). However, 'Meat Fruits' was just a pretty looking chicken liver pate (nothing out of this world) with a slice of toast - for £22 I was expecting a bit more. Unfortunately, you pay for Heston's name and the 5 star hotel setting, which is a shame when with a name like Heston's you go expecting amazing culinary delights. They also haven't got the experience quite right, the little tarts they give to everyone with the bill came out to me with Happy Birthday on the plate and that was the sum total of their effort for a special occasion. There are many more London restaurants which go above and beyond (and the food is better) for less money.
f.
It’s an establishment to visit for the experience. When I did, it was then ranked 7th best restaurant in the world.
For starters, the chicken liver parfait designed to look like an orange was delicious. I don’t enjoy chicken liver but this was really something else. For the main course, I ordered chicken. Although I forgot the exact name of the dish, the chicken was average. Dining in a fancy restaurant and ordering something as simple as chicken would make you believe it would be something out of the ordinary, but it wasn’t.
For dessert I ordered the tipsy cake and it was absolutely delicious.
Again, this is not a restaurant you can visit often, unless you’re rich. It’s an experience that I believe was worthwhile, overall.
A. L.
Impeccable service, delicious food and an extensive wine list, all in beautiful surroundings. A very special anniversary meal indeed.
C. W.
Absolutely fabulous place - food and service top class.
R. L.
Great meal and experience! The Iberico pork chop is amazing.
t. w. y. n.
A truly wonderful and enjoyable experience, highly recommended to try at least once.
R. B.
Phenomenal meal with great service. Really inspired menu with recipes ranging from 1300s thru to the 1950s with fresh ingredients and modern conveniences. Lovely wine selection. I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert as I don't typically have a dessert but the description was fascinating so decided to try it.
M. A.
Always delivers speedy and efficient service, thanks for great standards. Venue options were presented in a timely manner. Also, this is such an efficient site and saved me so much time. It is straightforward and personalized.
V. M.
Absolutely delicious meal. The meat fruit, the duck and the tipsy cake were all Devine! It’s expensive but wonderful
L. W.
Surprise dinner for my boyfriend's 30th birthday.
The food was lovely, some things were a bit odd, like the brown bread ice cream. 😅 Overall would come back to try other dishes but not in a hurry.
Given 5 stars for
Customer service is of such high standard, yet down to earth. They take the time to explain each dish & are very attentive. We were lucky enough to get thr couch seating as I'm 7 months pregnant. A waitress asked if I would like some pillows, I thought that was so lovely! Loved service from Ryan who from the beginning was very professional, made us laugh, and just such a pleasant waiter! I hope he gets to see this as he also added to our experience of eating here.
S. B.
Underwhelmed and very disappointed .
Not what we were expecting . Very average food. Steak was dry and tough (£50+) Duck ok but nothing special . Extremely overpriced for what was delivered . Service felt rushed . Staff pleasant .
C. A.
Utterly outstanding, this place should have a 3rd Michelin Star! The best foodie experience I've had.
S. P.
We went here for our proposal and couldn't have been happier with the service the staff provided during our engagement dinner. They kept my fiance completely in the dark, seated us in the corner and brought over a congratulatory dessert after I popped the question. The food and atmosphere were excellent as well.
H. G.
I had the lunch tasting menu accompanied with a lovely wine and ending on a cappuccino.
The location is quite posh but in the end the people and the feeling that you get is comfortable. I was wearing a shirt and jeans and did not feel under-dressed.
The food I personally liked a lot. It is a bit pricey but since I went during lunch, it was more affordable. If you are used to fine dining I am sure you have heard of Heston Blumenthal. This was my first experience with his style. Comparing it now to other upscale places such as Madame Pic, I find his food equally intriguing but more comfy and heavy. While I experienced a lot of flowery elements and Asian fusions at Madam Pic I had a much more down to earth menu during lunch at this place. Having said this, I was very happy with the menu and my overall experience.
Any criticism? Yes, there was one thing I would like to change and that is the upscale dining coffee culture. This also includes Madam Pics restaurant, I find it surprising that even though I had extraordinarily clever food and new dish creations these places fail me when it comes to espressos or a nice cappuccino.
Amazing places for coffee: Alchemy Café - so please upscale dinging scene in london, take a page from them ;)
In summary, I had a lovely lunch experience with great dishes in a cool and comfy atmosphere. I can only recommend this place and would love to be dining here again.

Heston never disappoints. Fantastic food and fantastic service
K. J.
We celebrated my birthday there. The food was amazing and the service - excellent and in fact quite laid back despite the elegance. The staff makes you feel welcomed without any enforced/artificial poshness.
J. C.
Excellent. Everything was just excellent. We reserved a table for the set lunch here a month in advance, and the food we got was glorious, the staff made the experience better than it already was, and the atmosphere both in the restaurant and in the Mandarin Oriental bar we landed in before eating was serene.
C. K.
Amazing restaurant, definitely book for a special occasion or just if you can
- the service is fantastic
- the attention to detail is also brilliant (asking about allergies, ensuring water topped up etc)
- definitely get the Meat Fruit & Tipsy Cake. Loads of people also seemed to enjoy the cheesecake
- the surroundings is beautiful
They helped us have a fantastic wedding anniversary
J. A.
Excellent service
Exquisit food Heston has not disappointed.even down to the dressing on the leaf salad was delicious the triple cooked chips the pork all cooked to perfection
Great setting
We loved the whole experience and cannot wait to come back
R. P.
Visted Dinner by Heston to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Despite a difficult time for the hospitality industry, the service was outstanding and food was second to none. We are working our way up to The Fat Duck in Bray, having dined at The Hinds Head and Dinner certainly did not disappoint.
N. O.
For a Michelin star restaurant the atmosphere feels like you are sat in any hotel or generic restaurant having a meal. Surroundings didn't feel special or told a story or his style of food which you would expect from this level of dining. The food was good as you would expect from Heston's team, there is a chef's table or private room option available and a bar where you can have a drink before or after dinner.
S.
Lovely dining experience. Staff friendly and polite. Second visit for us.
A.
Fabulous food, personnel made jokes and talked to us as if we were mates which was great experience and just everything was tip top. We even got ice creams especially made for us in front of us and that was spectacular. Since it was my hubby's birthday we got as a gift the happy birthday signed in chocolate on a plate next to chocolate mouse! Plus we asked to see kitchen and we got a tour and photo with main chef. You guys really made us feel welcome and relaxed so thank you so much!
C. H.
We had a marvellous meal last night. The food was delicious and delightful and ingenious. There was massive attention to detail and this with an attentive and informative staff made an excellent evening. Special mention must be made of Christoph whose unhurried helpful knowledgeable information made a special evening exceptional. He also showed us how the kitchen works which as a couple who love to cook was amazing. A huge thank you to everyone there.
L. L.
So amazing that we decided to make reservations for a return visit halfway through our starters. The staff are knowledgeable and polite. Ambiance is elegant but not stuffy. The food truly takes centre stage. The set lunches are reasonably priced at £45 per person and every bite will leave you anticipating the next and wanting more.
E. S.
For the price range I expected something extra ordinary. Instead I got a really really (42 pounds) overpriced fillet. Didn't liked the service at all. The staff seems to be on autopilot and very robotic-like. The only good thing I can say is that the famous tipsy cake did lived to the hype and was wonderful. Overall, avoid.
M. B.
Fantastic place, wonderful food, and perfect service.
We were treated so well by the front of house team, who helped us clebrate a birthday in style, and made us feel special. The team were friendly, fun, and engaging.
The food was brilliant; delicious plates, well-presented and it made me wish I had more room to fit it all in.
M. E.
One of the best meals of my life. The staff was welcoming and competent. The food was excellent. The wine selection enormous. You absolutely have to try the Tipsy Cake!
J. U.
We escaped the main body of the flare itself, only the tail end of the energy wafted across our planet, like the smoke from next door’s bonfire drifting into your garden on a Saturday afternoon. It made for a spectacular lightshow, the midnight sky illuminated as beams of super-heated gas shot across the heavens, streaks of light, sunset orange at first then a brighter yellow then finally bright white, the intensity of the energy increased and blended with our atmosphere. No sound, not at first at least. The bright streaks overhead moved in silence, from what seemed like directly overhead then off into the distance, they looked to disappear over the horizon as they shot off into space. Then came the noise, it sounded like distant thunder to begin with, a low rumble that grew and swirled around the busy sky. The streaks overhead increased in size, until the whole sky flashed white with intermittent blinding explosions within the magnetic field around our Earth. We stood and watched open mouthed, as the universe gave us a stark reminder of our place within it.
It acted as a global EMP, frying solenoids like bacon all over the world, we lost almost all electricity overnight. Weeks passed before the power started to come back on, clean became available and the world was settling back down to a variation of normal.
It took years to properly rebuild, decades of struggle, but now some forty years later we have new technology borne out of the flare, electromagnetic propulsion was fast becoming a reality. New discoveries were being made decades after the event, only last week a chap in Germany had learned how to ignite a fire underwater, a remarkable, if somewhat pointless endeavour. All of this leads us to here, where the next great discovery happens, today, to a man called Jack.
F. K.
Exceptional. The food was fantastic and the service was perfect. We chose the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and everything was amazing. It is a bit pricey, but honestly, you will not find this kind of service and food quality anywhere else. I highly recommend trying the meat fruit and tipsy cake.
m. b.
We visited it last week for a very amazing lunch. Every things was perfect from the high quality of the service to the delicious food everything was well looked after and the sense of detail was very much appreciated. Will be definitely back!
A. D.
Very disappointed. Having been to numerous Michelin rated restaurants around the world, we were expected to be "wowed." This was not the case. The food was above average at best - the duck was very gamey and the steak was replicable to any decent steakhouse. The service was very professional but nothing extraordinary. Open kitchen is a nice amenity but the entire experience was lacking that of a "top 50" restaurant.
T. S.
Probably the best (and most consistent) restaurant in London. Have been 4 times now and cannot fault a single thing. The food has always been exceptional as has the service. Go and you will not be disappointed. Thanks to the team!
N. Y.
Absolutely beautiful food!
D. C.
Amazing as always. had the meat fruit followed by duck then pineapple tipsy cake, would recommend that if there are two of you that you share a meat fruit as there is enough for two.
This is hands down my fave place place to eat.
D. A.
Definitely worth a visit. Love the meat fruit starter, plus very good steak. Would also recommend the tipsy cake. I've been to fat duck and I would say as much as I love Fat duck, I much prefer Dinner due to the fact that it was normal conventional food rather than something out of this world.
T. C.
Fabulous! Great friendly service! Tantalized the taste buds beyond belief.
S. S.
I usually hate liver.... Really, really hate liver but somehow I loved the meat fruit chicken liver parfait. Squab pigeon was nice but I tried my girlfriend's Hereford beef which tasted even better. Everything is sous vide, staff are very attentive, would try once for sure but not sure I would go back.
H. H.
Dinner by Heston left us a bit with mixed feelings. The setting is amazing, open kitchen, great decor, overlooking Hyde Park... The service was great, as you would expect from a restaurant of this standing. The food was also very, very good but it somehow felt a bit outdated. The concept is that they take some classical dishes and then put a modern twist on it. That was exactly where maybe our expectations and reality was a bit off. We enjoyed the food, but it missed some excitement. The meatfruit, some paté in the form of a mandarin, is a nice trick but it left us wishing there was more. The snail porridge was very good, that was one of the highlights of the meal. The main courses (we had lamb and roasted pork) were all perfectly executed, but again I would have loved a bit more surprise. The real highlight of the meal were the desserts.
Overall a great restaurant and nice experience, but I would have hoped for a bit more excitement, especially since this is Heston Blumenthal. Other restaurants offer more innovative spin on the food.
P. L. (.
Probably my favourite fine dining restaurant in London. The tipsy cake is literally one of the best deserts you'll ever eat in you life. It is quite expensive but worth it.
C. o.
Entrees were the easy standout of the meal. We had the "meatfruit" and the "rice and flesh" and can highly reccomend them. The mains however felt like they had too much going on to a point flavour was lost(we ordered the cod dish and the steak). Service was absolutely impeccable and the experience was wonderful. tip: have some drinks beforehand instead of with the meal as it really adds to the bill ( a gin and tonic was over 15 pounds before added 13.5% service charge)
D. B.
This is obviously a very good restaurant, in a wonderful setting, with great views over the park, warm and elegant atmosphere and great service. The food was rich and interesting, with a couple of highlights (the pigeon with ale sauce and spices). Still, I was expecting more: nothing wowed me as in other places at this level, and a couple of things definitely underwhelmed me (the size of a couple of portions among other things). At the end of the meal the 110£ per person we paid felt a good 30% too high given the general quality one can have in London for less than half the price.
D. A. S.
Incredible food, service, and value for money as far as two Michelin restaurants go. Laura looked after us for the majority of the evening. She gave us great assistance in deciding on our dishes and matching cocktails/wines, while also doubling as a sort of quasi tour guide, helping to suggest other establishments worthy of our time during what is to be a short trip. To add to this she made us feel entirely at home within the restaurant and was a pivotal part of what became an incredibly enjoyable evening filled with superb British cuisine, laughs, and nitrogen!
L. S.
The food here is excellent but the customer service was severely lacking. A rare fillet steak came medium rare and just about managed an apology and some equivocation about a difference of opinion on what a rare steak should be. I'm sorry if it is pinky/grey all the way through it is medium rare. Another one took 25 mins to arrive in perfect condition but nothing was offered to make amends. I declined the service charge in the end but feel this should have come off the main bill.
M. R.
This restaurant is as good as you'd expect. From the service to the food - everything was faultless. Special mention to the meat fruits and tipsy cake both of which were excellent. Also found the sommelier to be extremely helpful with wine selection.
S. T.
Amazing food as you would expect. The famous Liver pate starter and the famous pineapple desert should not be missed.
J. C.
Absolutely fantastic service. Hardly felt like we were in a COVID environment-minus all of the masks and social distancing. Menu selection was fantastic, excellent atmosphere and fopd and wine was superb
H. J.
I wonder if anybody would actually give this place less than 5 stars. If Dinner doesn't get 5/5 I really can't think where would! Absolutely worth every penny - the food is stunning, I almost always get the meat fruit for a starter and honestly you will regret not getting the tipsy cake for dessert. The staff are attentive without being annoying, they seem to anticipate your needs before you realise you have them. It's really somewhere special.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal’ is a restaurant in London, England. Opened in January 2011, it gained a Michelin star within a year, and in April 2014 was listed fifth on The World's 50 Best Restaurants in Restaurant magazine. We booked our table long time back and got our confirmation after two months. A must visit for every foodie out there. Superb from start to finish
Food type - Historical British
Rating - **Michelin
Chef- Heston Blumenthal

A lovely, friendly, cosy restaurant . It is the perfect place for a memorable experience. Amazing night here. All the dishes are super good, and they made foods looks like a piece of art. Love it!
J. B.
An incredible and unforgettable experience, my friends and I had the private dining room and it was sublime. Service was impeccable and the food was as delicious as you would hope and expect. I’m already thinking of a future occasion to be able to come back.
M. A. J.
Fantastic experience, no doubt worth the price. Everything was cooked to perfection, the suggested wine went well with the dishes and the staff did a wonderful job. Will visit again.
H. B.
Perfect. Beautiful service, beautiful setting and possibly the most amazing food I've had in London yet. Went for the tried and true; MEAT FRUIT / RIB EYE / TIPSY CAKE ... all 3 combined for an unforgettable meal cooked and designed to perfection. Highly, highly recommend a trip down here for dinner.
J. C.
Second time dining here and would definitely repeat. The cuisine relies on historic British recipes, some dating back hundreds of years, that have been updated and turned into gorgeous, creative presentations. If you don’t get the Meat Fruit, you’re bad at ordering. If you don’t at least get a side of the fries, then you’re not only bad at ordering, you’ll live the rest of your life full of regret - they are simply the best fries I’ve ever had any where, including those served to me by Tom Keller. The wine list is extensive and expensive, but there are decent values on there, as long as you’re not trying to order Premier Cru Burgundy or Bordeaux. Look to the Chateau Neuf-du-Papes Beaucastel.
D. M.
Food is what you expect, absolutely fantastic and faultless in every way. The staff were amazing and so personal. This was our first Michelin dinner and it excelled
K. L.
Excellent service with quality food! Thank you for making my wife's birthday a memorable one! We had the meat fruit, frumentary, argus, turbot and tipsy cake. These were absolutely delicious!
J. G.
Finally had the meat fruit! Service was impeccable, they'd had toast ready almost before I knew I wanted it.
A. A.
As a two michelin star restraunt I had high expectations and with Heston's name attached i was doubly so, alas the experience fell far short of the excellance I had hoped for. To be clear the food itself was exceptional, to start I had a bone marrow and snail dish who's only fault is it should be named as a snail and bone marrow dish, as a long time fan of snails these were astounding and the bone marrow with panko breadcrumb served only as a tasty way to refresh the pallet for the next snail.
For my main I had a Pigeon served with artichoke. I pride myself with cooking a pretty excellent pigion but as a farmed pigeon this was a different animal. The breasts were perfectly cooked by sous vide most likley and the leg confit was devine but dissapointingly only one leg.
The triple cooked chips we added as a side however were a massive dissapointment, while crispy the only flavour they held was the oil they were cooked in and the mushroom ketchup had barely more flavour than water. My Brother who I dined with and who had been before to this restraunt was vocally apologetic at recommending them and visibly crestfallen at the drop in standard.
As for the dessert, I had the Tipsy cake reccomended at the begining of the meal and was well worth the pre order as it takes an hour to prepare, this was the highlight of my meal, spit roasted pineapple that almost looked like a perfect slice of pork belly, served with a soaked brioche bun baked over a wonderfully balanced custard.
They did offer an ice cream made with liquid nitrogen at the table but only after we had already ordered our dessert, had we been told of this option earlier we would probably have tried it but as my brother had ordered a brown bread ice cream for dessert already and I had pre ordered the Tipsy cake it seemed redundant. As for the brown bread ice cream my brother said it was delicious but the massive slab of salted caramel it was sat on was far too much for the dish.
The service however...
Frankly I've felt more welcome at Mcdonalds, with the exeption of one shaven headed waiter and the girl who cleaned the table between courses I was ignored. All the explanations of the food were directed to my younger brother which with their back to me I was unable to hear, and at £15+ for a glass of wine I expected the small glass to be filled more than a fingers depth. Attracting the attention of any waiter seemed a chore and when a table behind us complained and stormed out shouting thair destain for the poor service we sat for a good twenty minuets simply trying to get a glass of water.
Lets face it, the food was very good, but I have had better, and for the price you would expect an amuse boosh at the very least, the bread was ice cold bog standard seedy brown bread. I could buy better at tesco and annoyingly three bits between two people. My brother finished with a mint tea, 9 mint leaves steeped for about as long as it took to carry the pot to the table. Frankly one star is pushing it but definately not worth two stars.

Great restaurant, I can see why it has two Michelin stars. Beautiful location and decor, great service, has a compact menu (they do a few dishes, but very well) and the food is not only delicious, but very creative, you can tell really see the influence of Heston Blumenthal. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow, so unique!! And equally delicious!! The Meat Fruit, Tipsy Cake, and Triple cooked chips were the standouts. Not to belittle the rest but a year later after eating out countless times at other top 50 and 3 star places those are the dishes that I still remember and almost hold in reverence.

We celebrated our anniversary here and had a lovely evening. The service was amazing and they dealt with my gluten intolerance very well. The food was interesting and delicious in its own way. I was very excited to try Heston Blumental's food, was a tiny bit disappointed that there was no molecular gastronomy, but it was still lovely. I do think it is very expensive and you can probably get more value somewhere else, but it's Heston Blumental and that's enough to make it worth it :)

Had lunch at Dinner two weeks ago, and I am still thinking about the amazing food I had over there. A lot of effort had clearly gone into each dish - and I enjoyed every morsel of the meat fruit/chicken/millionaire tart I had. Worth every penny and calorie of mine - need i say more?

Absolutely one of our favourite restaurants in London... or globally even! The food is always an incredible experience and so well presented... simple and tasty. Heston really does a great job with the staff and we are always treated like heros when we arrive and dont feel out of place in such a fancy setup... We have been a few times and make this our “no fail” fine dining option for festive occasions.
One thing we miss after the refurb is the old Rice and Flesh... some of the new creations are good but we miss the old versions.

Fancy British food that connects you with nature. My main (fish) I would rate at 4/5 and the fabulous brioche cake dessert at 5/5. Liked the ambience, upscale yet more informal than at many other Michelin stars. It feels like a place you could easily come back to.

Great lunch menu, very friendly staff. Ordered the meat fruit outside of lunch menu, which tasted and looked incredible. Some of the best cocktails we've tried in London, would recommend the bloody mary and old fashioned.

Fabulous lunch time experience at Dinner. Everything about it was fabulous, looked after by a great waitress who was so knowledgeable about the menu. Incredible food, expensive, but well worth it, totally excellent experience.

If I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars I would. No place I go to lives up to the experience that I had here, although, I have yet to visit the Fat Duck. The food was impeccable, the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. EVERYTHING, literally EVERYTHING, was amazing. So much attention to detail was put into every aspect of our dining experience. I will be back, and I will continue to sing praises.

Really nice restaurant with friendly staff. Food is somewhat of a roller coaster as starters are quite impressive but then mains let you down a bit after tasting the starters (don't get me wrong, mains are nice, but not the same level as the starters). Dessert is then quite impressive specially when closing the meal with the ice cream.

I had lunch at Dinner. Although it sounds counterintuitive, it's worth it. The price is less high than dinner menu, but with an extremely high quality. A total steal for a 2-Michelin starred restaurant. And a beautiful view of Hyde Park. The meat fruit is a piece of artwork. Chicken liver pâté in the shape of a tangerine. The look of the dish, the mix textures, and the perfectly balanced flavors are hard to describe with words, or even with pictures. If you come here, you won't forgive yourself if you don't order this meat fruit. Also, try the tipsy cake (order this dessert along the main course, as it takes 45 mins to prepare). The dressed snails were really eye opening, due to the grilled lettuce (sounds weird but it's a remarkable addition). Would definitely return.

My family and I were celebrating my Dads 60th birthday. We booked the private dining room which was like a medieval banquet. Every dish was delicious. The waitress and sommelier were both amazing.
