Reviews of Dip & Flip Battersea
M. N.
I had seen it pop up on my Instagram a few times so I decided to visit the restaurant. Absolutely amazing food, I had roast lamb sub sandwich with gravy for dipping on the side...I couldn't get enough it was to die for. The lab was so tender and just melt in your mouth.
I booked for lunch as it can be popular place to eat.
Staff was friendly, always attentive, welcoming.
Definitely will be going back again. Highly recommended.

Everyone I was with loved it but they had the grilled sandwiches and I had the burger. I felt is wasn’t tasty but salty. Food came out quick and hot.

This is the ULTIMATE cheat day meal! The burgers are fantastic, the fully loaded fries with the chilli, bacon, cheese and gravy are out of this world, and the service is fast and friendly. Except for a sharp knife to make a couple of extra holes in your belt, what more could you want?! Highly recommended

Food was great, staff were lovely, gravy is absolutely unreal!! It’s a must visit!

I spotted an online review of Dip and Flip years ago and have wanted to visit ever since. Never found time to get down to Battersea though…
Chance to get one delivered whilst in Brixton last week too good to pass up.
Really didn’t disappoint. Hands down one of the best burgers in ages.
The roast beef on top was so good and the dipping gravy… 😻😻😻 Genius.
Chilli cheese bacon fries on the side.
Definitely finding time to go to Battersea now!

Great new style burger. Roast beef is tender and great meaty patty. Be ready to get messy. The chips is really crispy and good also. Wings are big (you get 3 pieces for small portiom) and good but too saucy for me.

This place is AMAZING! Went for takeaway originally but since there was no one there, we decided to stay and dine-in. The staff had antibacterial and they gave us the sign up sheet for contact tracing so we felt they were doing their part in following guidelines. I ordered the patty melt by recommendation of my friend and it was SO GOOD! Juicy, meaty, melty deliciousness. The gravy is also tasty and the perfect complement to the sandwiches. I ordered sweet potato fries which were perfectly crispy yet soft.
PS - we had it another day for takeaway and they didn’t include the gravy and it was not as good in general, so I highly recommend for eat-in if you can.

Visited here after going racing at Kempton Park, located very close to Clapham Junction railway station. Staff are lovely, the burger was absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to visit again.

Had such a delicious meal yesterday. Staff were great too. Only issue is that gratuity was not included on the bill meaning that we actually didn't have an opportunity to add any given that the bill was paid by card and most people don't carry cash with them anymore.
Would be great if you guys added gratuity as optional when paying by card.

It was pleasant. The menu choice was good, with a clear range of staples. The milkshakes were hefty and the beers were good. We ordered from around the menu and found the burger and toppings cooked well and the chicken wings particularly notable. The dip sandwich was a let down as the quantity of meat lacked. It contained three, thinly sliced pieces of lamb which when compared to the burgers meant I left feeling I had eaten an unsubstantial meal. The chips... Well, were chips. Dry and cold after 10 minutes. If I were to go again, I'd avoid the dip sandwich as I think there is better bang for your buck. What we cannot fault, was the friendliness of the servers and attention we received. Overall, pleasant and friendly, but order wisely.

Great burgers, freshly made how you want it and the chips and gravy are delicious. Bacon double cheeseburger was a bit too big (and quite messy to eat!) so take a look at what other people are having before you order. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff too
J. G.
Very good burger, here, my son and I had nice meal
A. W.
Ate in and had a great experience.
The food was belting and staff extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

The burgers are delicious and the gravy a revelation. Fabulous little burger place. Highly recommended!
Y. K.
Burger was fantastic , the meat is so well seasoned and flavoured and the bun itself was sweet . Chips were still crispy despite it being a delivery . Wings were also good . Only downside is that the gravy was very watery , other than that , it was all very nice .

Different. Indulgent. Flipping wonderful.
Wings: not too spicy (good from my perspective), moreish, succulent, decent size, well priced, TASTY!
Burger: whoever thought that you could dip a whole burger in a pot of gravy and be happy about that was a genius. Granted, if you don’t like getting a bit mucky, you might struggle, but I loved it. The gravy is rich and meaty, perfect to complement the delicious burger.
Chips: I didn’t have any as I thought it’d have been too much (I probably could have stretched to it) but I tried some of my pals’ fries and they were pretty decent but I didn’t feel left out.
Gravy: let’s be honest, that’s the star here. Get the most out of your gravy!!!
L. S.
The burgers were really good and tasty and the gravy on the side make it even better, fries was okay. The staff was really nice, explained the menu for me and help me to choose.
B. F.
This was a really unique place, a bit off the beaten path for those just visiting London, but well worth the stop off the train. And for those who live closer by, lucky you! Their food almost all comes with a side bowl of gravy to dip in to, it was very delicious! And the burger on it's own was tasty with melted cheese, a smash style burger well worth a try, be forewarned however, this is a messy one!!
D. Y.
I went to dip and flip with a friend we had been dip and flip in brixton twice prior to closure of the branch. My friend really wanted to try. Never fails to satisfy you the burgers are so good! Also the server Madalina D is she was exceptionally amazing serving me my friend last night! She was prompt when I needed a request and also when my friend needed help on the menu very helpful! The photos speak for itself. Recommend a visiting here no doubt
h. c.
So juicy so delicious. Be prepared to get messy!

The Dip & Flip burger is THE best burger in London. Chips are lightly spiced. The vanilla milkshake is good - great with a few shots of whisky. Although not a fan of the other milkshake flavours.
A. A.
I'd say this is one of the best burger 🍔 spots in South London. Words or pictures do this place no justice, you just need to get there and try for yourself. If you like burgers 🍔, roasted meat and lashings of gravy then it's a must. Warning ⚠ it can get messy but they do provide a whole roll of kitchen towels at your table. Seating is OK nothing special and bathrooms are ok too. The milkshakes or should I say hard shakes are out of this world. It makes every other milkshake seem not nice and my personal favourite is the cherry 🍒 bakewell. I'm a regular and will be back very soon.
C. D.
Holly Burger!!! Definitely top one on the London territory!! Very nice, very juicy, very tasty, tender and full with taste and flavor. The best sweet potato fries, very nice and chill staff. I am coming back for sure!
D. L.
Amazing burger, great atmosphere and vibes. Loved the food and feel of the place. Only giving it 4 stars as I'm vegetarian and there's only 1 burger available for vegetarians. Other then that the food was great and Sweet potato fries on point!
A. S.
Best burgers around. French dip takes it to the next level. The gravy is so delicious. Just wish they would open in Putney, although that would be very dangerous. Lovely staff, great service, always friendly and quick. Good selection of beer and non alcoholic drinks too. All round winner 😋
C. E.
We've been coming here since they open, before they expand. But none of that matter.
First, last, new, old. Dip & flip delivers quality every time. Every time.
They do burgers and they do it very well. I don't know if they are the best burger in London. But they are for me.
It's one of those business that focus in doing something perfectly. And to managed that through the years is a great achievement.
They serve the burgers with gravy. An unnecessary pot of delicious, salty, scrumptious, deep flavour gravy. It's there. Next to your burger. It's your choice. Dip it. Come on!, DIP IT!
I've seen friends drinking it.
It's good that stuff. It's almost like liquid burger.
It makes your meal messy. And messy, in this case, is GOOD.
Arrive early as there is always a queue but they will take your number and call you when a table is available. While somebody else enjoy dipping their burger in that awesome gravy you can have a pint in a pub just around the corner.
It goes quickly as their service is swift and smooth.
Perfect for when you are very hungry.
Go! try and thank me soon rather than later.

Do you like gravy? You will love this restaurant. I love the concept of serving your sandwich with a side of gravy for your dipping enjoyment. My cheese burger was delicious and juicy and I added a fried egg to it which made it even yummier! I got a side of fries and the portion was very good. I also got a side of Korean chicken wings and they are TO DIE FOR! If you like hot wings with a sweet kick and sesame seeds YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG. I got the shake of the month which was biscotto flavor (Lotus) and it was good, I'll probably try another flavor next time. The restaurant feels cozy and the service is relatively fast. The prices are okay but could be a little cheaper. If I had to point out something I didn't like it would be the lights as the restaurant was kinda dark.
C. B.
Wow burgers dipped in gravy? who knew this could be so good. The burger was good enough on its own but the gravy took it to another level. Tasty fries too and good service. I’m sold
O. L.
The food wasn't so great but liked my chips and shake... our waiter was the best! So I gave an extra star.
S. C.
Meat, bread and gravy: this place is amazing. The best burger in London. It’s a messy experience but totally worth it.
J. O.
Very good portion food size. Went on a calm Tuesday afternoon, waitress was friendly and the music was great!
ל. א.
Very nice place, very good service, the burger is good and testy but they do only one cooking level (MW). The environment was quite in a good way.
Recommended!!!

Absolutely stunning burgers.
Definitely one of the best burger joints in London. Gravy dripping down your fingers and beautifully cooked Meats.
👍🏻

Gravy. You just need to love gravy when eating here. Cause you get a mini bathtub with gravy. Did I mention gravy? Good burger btw.
N. C.
Wow wow wow! Went for the Dip and Flip (burger topped with roast beef). Good structural integrity, great flavour, moist but not greasy and really tasty gravy. Sweet potato fries were dreamy too. And the whole thing was super cheap! Wings were good but nothing special. I will be coming back here again soon!

Outrageously tasty burgers. Very messy but very much worth it! Highly recommend the classic dip and flip OR the secret menu burger (pictured)
M. D.
Really tasty burgers and amazing fries! Just dip your burger in the gravy sauce to fully enjoy the experience ;)
B. H.
Great experience, tasty food freshly made, just like the milkshakes.
Really delicious burgers and good fries.
Nice interior and great service!
P. G.
An excellent choice of restaurant for people who love gravy and burgers (or both at the same time!). Staff are friendly, service is quick and the food is inexpensive but delicious. I always try and visit whenever I’m down in London.
a. h.
Oh my god. What a taste. One the best flavoured burger. And top of that filling and gravy.
C. W.
Incredible burger. Perfectly cooked with a topping of the most mouth watering beef and melty cheese. And the gravy?! Well, that is genius. Beef on beef on beef. Washed down with a Brixton beer. Delightful!
M. D.
Dip and Flip is amazing. Perhaps the messiest yet tastiest burgers in the entire World. The steak burger comes complete with a layer of melt in your mouth beef on top which was dripping with gravy and also served with a side of gravy. Gravytastic. Staff were friendly too, but who even cares when the burgers are this good? Get yourself to this establishment for a massive feast. They don't accept bookings, so get there early!
C. F.
I think everyone definitely should try dip & flip. One of best burger I ever had.
R. L.
First time here, but a brilliant experience. Staff were friendly, told us what we needed to know about covid rules and regs, and were welcoming. The burgers are mental - gorgeously cooked with a big fat cut of meat, then dipped in gravy. Fries and cheesy fries were excellent too.
A. G.
I was especting something special but it's not. The taste of sandwich is light and the gravy ad well. Got the fries with cheese and chilli and not special at al. I will vive a second chance next time with the burgers and hope It will be better...
A. W.
Ate in and had a great experience.
The food was belting and staff extremely friendly. Highly recommended.
F. A.
An out the box experience for the gravy enthusiastic. Only place where you can have an authentic poutine
F. F.
Always so good to be back! Great friendly service and spectacular burgers...I wish I could still order it medium rare, however this doesn't change the fact that the taste is spectacular and the gravy is the cherry on top! Can't wait to get back after lockdown...by the way I've ordered them few times as well and they always arrived perfectly!! So no need to wait that longer 😁
S. L.
Divine burgers and subs topped with roast beef with a side of gravy and crispy fries. Cherry ripe milkshake is also delicious.
K. B.
Amazing burgers and their cheesy chips are amazing.
I think its better to eat in than take out because I don't think their burgers travel well
J. T. F.
Nice little burger place. Burgers were really nice and good service. Only thing is the gravy needs to be thicker. Definitely.
M. A.
Casual place known for its love for gravy. Burger with roast beef and gravy sounds odd at first but it is delicious. Worth a try.
A. P.
Never knew I wanted to dip a burger into gravy until I did it. Very good burgers. VERY good.
L. L.
Amazing service, delicious food and a all round lovely restaurant.
E.
Delicious food!!!! Well recommended! :)
Thank you for the amazing costumer services especially to Gemma and Rosa!

Tim Lees created the Best burger joint ever. You have to visit this place as it's simply the best
H. W.
Expected much more based on the reviews. Burger was ok nothing amazing but the dip (gravy) was a disappointment. It was thin and lacked flavour. It literally wet the burger. It was my first time trying this but not going back unfortunately.
P. Q.
The lamb dip and flip burger is to die for. Whenever I go out with mates we always come here as the burgers are soo good.
J.
The quality for the price is outstanding. Try to book ahead can be busy, especially with the £10 off government incentive
E. A.
Service was okay but the burger and gravy is absolutely worth the hype and one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Finger licking good...
J. B.
Great place, quality of food is consistent, if a little messy, but that's the whole point. Staff are always friendly too.
M. J.
A pair of us walked in there at 23.15 and they were happy to seat and serve us. I ordered the burger with slow roasted lamb that gets served with gravy for dipping and shared some fries. The burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. I'm not a fan of gravy, but did dip my burger a few times and really liked the flavour.
It's a messy experience, but I kind of liked that. Cheese, lamb, sauce and gravy were everywhere. The fries were amazing too. I'll definitely go back soon.
Update: I ordered Dip & Flip via Deliveroo and everything arrived hot and delicious.
M. T.
Absolutely great place for a very soggy burger!
M. L.
Love this place, great burgers with gravy!
P. G.
One of the best burgers I had in a while. I went for the cheese burger and loved it. And it comes with a very yummy dip if you want extra flavour! Sweet potatoe fries were tasty too. I did not love the buffalo hot chicken wings but simply because that recipe didn’t excite me. They were nicely cooked and presented tho. If you love Tabasco then go for it. Service was very helpful and friendly too. I’d definitely recomend it!
S. U.
Only been here twice and found it to be amazing each time, the burgers appeared to be even larger the second time around. Really well cooked burgers and the taste of the beef doesn't get lost in amongst all the other ingredients, wasn't sure about the gravy at first but it's growing on me. Can get very busy at peak times so be be prepared to wait or simply come a little earlier. Good prices and service, lively and cosy.
M.
My favourite place for tasty burgers. I go there at least once a month and I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I only disliked the chicken wings. The rest is amazing! Friendly staff and fair price for size of portions. Would definitely recommend.

I've been coming here since it opened and I'd be hard pushed to suggest where to go for a better burger. I love the concept. Delicious, juicy, perfectly cooked beef burger topped off with roast beef or lamb with a tasty dipping gravy. Combine this with a good jug of Pacifico beer and a great atmosphere and you have a great place to go for a bite to eat. It does get busy in the evenings but they take your number and contact you in the pub next door so it's a win win waiting for a table.
R. G.
Excellent food quality, brilliant service and amazing atmosphere.
Strongly recommend!!!!
D. L.
The best burger I’ve had in London. Second best in Europe after L’Atelier du Burger in Toulouse. Not much in the way of options for my vegetarian friends but as a committed carnivore, I was very happy. The beer was great too. And the nice lady who served us was attentive, pleasant and precise with our orders. Great little place to grab some munch.
Y. K. P. S.
In general, this place is good and highly recommended. I ordered a chicken sandwich, it was delicious, but unfortunately, I got a large piece of chicken skin, not so comfortable. Gravy and beer were excellent. I went on Thursday night, and the restaurant smelled of second-hand smoke, probably because people were smoking right outside the door.
p. a.
the dirty burger was excellent would recommend
J. H.
I absolutely love dip and flip. It's my favourite burger in London, the service is great and it's reasonably priced. Even has a varied beer selection.
The only people I wouldn't recommend to are those going on a first date. The burgers while fantastic are messy as hell!
J. W.
The burger was cooked perfectly, fries were amazing and the gravy...oh the gravy <3
5* every time!
J. D.
The best place the have a burger in Battersea. I would recommend the Bacon Double Cheese Burger, gravy sauce is included!
R. P.
Amazing burgers and service, arrived 20mins before closing for a big order for construction workers night shifting, nothing missing from order and food was delicious. Also staff very friendly and helpful.
B. L.
This is where we get the Friday night treat. Really friendly staff, great tasty burgers. It does get noisy when packed so get there early if you want it a bit more quiet. Shakes a really good, but I prefer a good pint of they house beer with my burger.
R. F.
I ordered for take away so I sat about 15 minutes waiting for my order. By the time I got home it did get a little soggy and the bun was falling apart.I went with the burger and lamb. Although I feel like they put the beef instead unless that's just how their lamb tastes. This was gooey cheesy goodness. The gravy is just extra deliciousness.
L. M.
I couldn't not give this 5 stars. The food here is so good - the buffalo wings are pretty authentic, even if they don't serve them with blue cheese - that it's hard to fault any part of this place.
I came here with a couple of friends, having never been before. The main premise is having burgers that have been dipped in gravy; they're also served with gravy so that you can get even more of the gravy juices. Even by themselves, though, the burgers are great, and the cheese and bacon burger would hold its own against many other burgers, including Five Guys.
The service was a bit funny - they brought the wrong drink out and then forgot about the buffalo wings until the end - but these are minor faults. Great for groups (more than about 6-8 and I think they might struggle), but even better for parties of 2-4.
M. L.
Who knew burger and gravy goes so well. Would definitely come here again
J. P.
If you like burgers oozing in gravy and yummy milkshakes then this is the place!! We have dined in, taken away and enjoyed both meals, either way.
Even tried the potato rosti burger and it was really good! Service is friendly, atmosphere lively.
I would have rated this 5 but I took a star off because we did go here one time when wheat was restricted from my diet and it's not so good that way. You don't get a bun (salad instead) and unfortunately, there is wheat in the gravy so you don't get any gravy which made the burger and roast meat, taste dull and dry. If you are gluten free / wheat intolerant, this isn't the best place to go.
A. F.
It is always great to come back! This place never lets me down. Best burger in the country by far. During my travels I've had plenty burgers buy so far none have met the quality of DNF. Staff are lovely and serve you with a smile. Highly recommended
T. M.
Absolutely loved it! Hadn't heard of the place before and went after a couple of pints at the pub. It was very busy - we had to put our names down and we were given a call. We had bacon cheeseburgers and they were faithfully American - sloppy, juicy with runny cheese. Delicious! The gravy was very tasty, they had a good range of craft beer. Sure the deco could be more inspiring and it's not a place you would linger for hours on end. But that's not what it's trying to be. It's just a place where you can drop in and enjoy a really good burger and beer. Loved it and will definitely be back!
S. W.
Went for the dip and flip burger. Great flavours and the Gravy is a nice little twist on the conventional condiment. Service was quick. Chips were good. Mustard in a undervalued burger addition. Overall if you are serious about trying good quality burgers this place has to feature on the map.
P. M.
A burger dipped in gravy, what's not to like? A very good patty, cooked perfectly, pink inside, black on the outside. Tasty gravy. Good chips. Good service. I would have preferred cheddar to mozzarella cheese, but hey.
J. B.
Very juicy burgers. At the begining I was a bit reticent as I was not a big fan of the gravy sauce but I need to say that in this case it is a success!. I highly recommend to ask for the special burguer with roast beef. Not so happy with the chicken wings that were a bit disappointing.
A.
Visited mid afternoon on a Friday which was quiet. Long after we finished our food it was ram packed at around 19:00 so best to visit before.
Food was delicious and inexpensive. Dip & Flip don’t do large menus which is fine by us. Burgers, wings, sandwiches and fries.
Staff were friendly and food was served relatively quick.
T. N.
Too many good things to say about this place. I left here feeling stuffed, happy and a stone heavier. I ordered the double patty with roast lamb, whilst I waited it's hard not to stare at every tray that comes out of the kitchen. Major food envy!
The burger was delicious, I love my sauces and to dip my burger and chips into the gravy was just divine. I would not come here for a date as your hands, mouth and lap will probably get splashed or covered with dip. For some stupid reason, as if I wasn't full enough, I ordered the Oreo milkshake, which I would recommend.
T. R.
After seeing this place on Burgerac's list of best burgers I had to give it a go! Heading in after work it was pretty quiet and we were met right away by attentive staff. We opted for the flip and dip burger and it was amazing! The brioche bun was soft but not too sweet, the roast beef on top was succulent and the extra gravy is handy for making your already messy burger messier. This is not a place to go for a date as it will end up all over and around your face. Totally worth it though!
As it got later the place filled up, the music got louder and we were shouting to chat to each other. This isn't a bad thing, but something worth noting before choosing it for somewhere to eat.
All in all it was one of the best burgers I have ever had and I will be back!
E. I.
Fries with chillies and cheese were exceptional, also the idea of dipping burger into the gravy makes this place special. The staff was great and friendly. Even though one of my friend were really drunk, they keep calm and serve professionally.
D. S.
I went on Sunday for lunch, fairly minimal interior decor, but that's frankly irrelevant. I had the Dip n flip Burger - it was potentially the best burger I've had in my life, the patty was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the roast beef dipped in gravy on top, mixed with the cheese just made for the juiciest burger experience i've had in a long time. decent amount of fries too.
go there and go big.
S. D.
I would probably say the best thing at dip and flip was there chips as I had the lamb sandwich it was absolutely nasty as they don't tell you it is all covered in gravy and plus they are using cheap pieces of string lamb to serve. You can also get the sandwich with chicken or beef so they might be a better quality of meat but I doubt it. I would say everyone should go and try it and see what they think as everyone's taste buds and opinions would be very different.
A. M.
This place does burgers right! They're tasty and very, very fulfilling. I went here during quiet hours and got to enjoy their delicious chips with bacon, cheese, jalapeños all based in gravy; these guys love their gravy. That alone alongside a milkshake are enough as it is. If you want to go to a place to fill you up, this is the place to be. 😃
A.
Great service, great food, and great staff! Portions are huge and burgers are delicious! Hidden gem!
s. C.
Recommended to me by a friend and she was not wrong. Different to get a burger drenched in gravy, which may not sound appealing but, was so tasty..pretty sure bibs were provided 😳 and needed 🙈 but the good was good and the service was good as well, will definitely visit this place again...but never on a night where I need to be anywhere, because that may not work out to well for me or my outfit.
M. G.
The burgers are very good. This a simple but well thought out concept. Great hamburgers and gravy. The chips are good and the variety of burgers is enticing. The milkshakes are very good as well. We will be returning
B. D.
One of the best, most unique, burgers in London.
You may have to wait a little while to get a table, but you can wait at the pub a couple doors down. Very friendly service with staff happy to explain anything on the menu.
C. C.
The best burgers ever. Always my go to cheat meal. - chicken wings are also an added bonus of pure greatness.
If you've not tried dip and flip, you've not lived.
Its a "messy" burger but so worth it.
t.
A great little burger joint. Tasty burger with just enough of a twist for it to stand out in what is becoming an increasingly saturated market. Solid choice of sides and a good selection of beers add to the experience and the hard shakes are the cherry on the top. In my opinion this place is up there with Honest, Patty & Bun and MeatLiquor.
E. C.
Amazing Hamburger, different from the usual. It comes with a tray full of sauce to dip the full burger into it. prepare to lick your fingers too. Fries could be better, but it's a good addition to the main dish.
Waiting time during weekends is as always a bit long.
J. E.
I loved this place. I had the Dip & Flip burger with lamb, the fries with everything and this month's milkshake of the month; mars bar with a shot of bourbon. Everything was really tasty, enjoyed it a lot. My only.slight criticism was that the gravy could be a little thicker, but it's still very tasty.
P. R.
I enjoyed my trip here despite expectations being extremely high. The burger (I went for the standard bacon and cheese burger) is tasty and the dipping gravy provided gives a particularly full taste.
Only criticism i have is the cheesy squeezy chips which were good but not as mindblowing as chips with proper cheese on them can often be.
I'd definitely return here though the burger wasn't quite up to Honest Burger standards in my opinion...
A. E.
Amazing place! Great service, one of the best burgers in London - with the combination of gravy! The fries are meh, but the sweet potato fries are great! If they still have the butterscotch popcorn shake - take it!
R. A.
I had the signature dip & flip burger which was outstanding. The gravy soaked roast beef really adds something new that I haven't had anywhere else.
The Oreo milkshake was slightly underwhelming and is not as good as ones I've made at home myself. The only reason I didn't give D&F 5 stars.
I'd definitely recommend it though and will be back for sure.

It's a burger dipped in gravy....with extra gravy on the side. It's amazing.
I had the beef burger with lamb strips and cheese, with a side of chilli fries. All were amazing. Perfectly cooked beef burger and an original idea. Loved it.
H. J.
I've been to about three different dip and flips now, including their pop up at Bar Elba. Yes, you're paying £9 for a burger, but there are really tasty burgers. I wish the sandwiches were bigger - for £7 I would have hoped for at least a 6" subway type size, there were definitely smaller than expected.
J. N.
Fun place, full of people, good list of beers. Gravy for dipping is novel and the burger was tasty. Service was great.
On the less good side, the chips (aside from the peri style seasoning) were bland, not very crispy and taste like bought in frozen. The bun disintegrates to mush even without dipping in the gravy. Last the gravy has a touch of Bisto about it.
A good place, but there are much better burgers on offer in London.
A. J.
Fantastic burger topped with roast beef and served with gravy to do it into.
A. J.
Love love love Dip & Flip! The patty melt is superb and the burgers are fantastic. Try the squeezy cheesy fries, buffalo wings and share a burger. Absolute winner.
L. M.
Best burger in London. A cheese burger with lashings of roast beef and a dark rich gravy to dunk your burger in. While your there, the loaded Poutine chips with bacon, chilly and cheese curds. Omg!!
M. C.
Went on a Tuesday evening, 8pm. Bit understaffed and not fast-food by any means, but really chilled atmosphere and delicious food all round! Burger came with perfect amount of relish, seasoning, sauces etc... Shared the Cheeseburger, Roast beef gravy sandwich, and some Poutine. Don't be fooled if the Poutine portion doesn't look generous, we shred two portions between three and it was plenty. Extra gravy for dipping was a welcome novelty and great flavour. Seriously good burgers and you only need to get as messy as you want so don't be shy to bring a date! I'd agree with the loud music and having to shout to make yourself heard. I'd also agree staff didn't seem to be that fussed about the place. You can see the kitchen and there wasn't any energy coming from it.
F. Y.
While I was eating, I couldn’t help thinking what kind of genius would come out with something like this.. Gravy light up my life! Speechless!
r. b.
Had a really great lunch there. I had just got back from New York and this is the equal of any "dirty" food you can get out there. Everything was fantastic - highly recommended.
Just to add, we ordered takeaway via deliveroo recently and there was very little quality drop - the food didn't suffer from the bike ride and had obviously been prepped and packed with care
F. A.
Just ordered a burger from deliveroo and holy moley, genuinely one of the nicest burgers I've had in a long time. Lovely cheese chilli chips as well. Never been motivated to write such a glowing review immediately upon finishing a meal. I plan on going here, drinking all day, and squeezing a few meals in.

Opened in November, Dip & Flip already has a cult following. The specials are the French-Dip Sandwiches (beef, lamb or fried chicken), though when I went there I kept it simple with a Cheese Burger and Fries. All burgers are served with gravy for dipping!
Their burgers stand half way between a fast-food greasy burger (Meat Liquor style) and a gourmet burger (Elliot's Café style). A good burger that satisfies your cravings without being heavy on your stomach. With fries and a soft drink you can stay below the £15 mark (including service), which is not bad for London.
One of the highlights of the menu is the Dip & Flip Burger (a cheeseburger topped with roast beef). It sounds a bit over the top, but most of the people at our table tried it and loved it.
For something out of the ordinary, try the Patty Melt (a sandwich with burger patty) and the Poutine (gravy covered chips with cheese).
And of course don't forget to dip your burger/sandwich in the gravy! The crunchy crust of the burger bun works well with the gravy (while a brioche bun would have been too soft for dipping).
A must place to visit if you love burgers!
C. N.
It is the best burger in the world. I've eaten hundreds okay, I know my burgers. Don't question me.
The staff is always kind and the vibe is great. 10 big old stars for these guys.
K. H.
This is a laid back place to enjoy with a small group of friends.
The venue is quite small, so I would not recommend going in a large party. The music is good but does, as the other reviews say, tend to get louder later on (the lights also get dimmer). I didn't really understand this, as it isn't really a bar and you can barely swing a cat in there but I decided to go with the flow. Similarly, it get's busier as the night goes on so I would recommend going earlier if you want to be guaranteed a seat and a decent chat with a friend.
However, if your main objective for the evening is to have some decent, easy going food this is a good choice. The choice of food is not particularly exotic, you will be looking at burgers, chips and cheese (and gravy of course) - solid, comforting, junky food basically. However it is very tasty and very filling. I would say it was better than the average burger.
The staff there were not especially attentive, but that wouldn't necessarily suit the vibe. Everything is way too chilled (and the prices way too reasonable) so don't be expecting a 5 star service.
I particularly liked the names on the chairs.
S. A.
One of the tastiest (non homemade) burgers I ever had. Cheeseburger with lamb slices dipped in gravy. Hell yeah.
Looses stars for being stingy though. £9 burger that doesn't come with fries? Sambrooks beer (so tasty) comes in two-thirds of a pint? Feels like you're getting played, and spoils what should've been a 5 star meal.
Service was friendly enough.
C. B.
Best burger in London and the gravy is to die for.
J. M.
Burger and generally food quality is top of the range. It could be argued (by me) that it's the best burger in London.
The only downside is that it is really really loud inside, likely because its sort of cramped together and everyone is so close.
A. Q.
Amazing gravy dipped rolls and fantastic service everytime! Today, despite not taking phone orders, I pre-paid & collected at a precise time of my choosing (5mins before my favourite TV prog!) They had it ready bang on time, piping hot & just as good quality as dining in! Top notch quality food, nom nom nom.
T. S.
Food was nice, fries are not homemade but tasted good. Chicken sandwich with garlic mayo tastes.quite nice and gravy as.well although not 100% sure if is homemade as they say. Nice people and go for chilean red wine!
C. H.
Friendly staff and great food. Love to concept and our waiter had a great sense of humour while talking us through the menu. The gravy was great and made the chip seasoning stand out :)
G. B.
Dip & Flip is a little burger restaurant located near Clapham Junction in South London. The interior is simple and beautiful. And the menu is not too complicated either - mainly burgers, as you would expect.
I was happy to find poutine on the menu - chips, cheese and gravy - a delicious import from Canada. As main, I selected the bacon cheese burger.
I did not have to wait very long, until my tasty plate of food arrived. I struggled to finish my burger, the poutine was too tempting and it is richer than just a few chips.
The burger is a messy affair with crispy bacon and melted cheese all over the place. And dipping is highly recommended. The burger is delicious and dipping makes it so much better, it tastes like it is made for dipping. Probably, every burger can do with some dipping, but you do not get decent gravy with most burgers.
The service was friendly and efficient, and overall, I really like Dip & Flip. I should be back soon...
A. G.
Always have a great meal when I come here. The Dip and Flip burger with lamb is always a good choice. The tap beer and milkshakes are also a great accompaniment to dinner, although the milk shake could push you over the edge on the fullness side of things.
F. i. h. w.
Very good burger, lovely little place, absolutely lovely service. This is worth your money. Ok maybe the fries need to be cooked a bit more but it's just a question of taste!
d. h.
'Life is better dipped in gravy.'
Well after visiting here, I have to agree!
This is the best burger I've ever had! Well worth the trip. I'll be coming back VERY soon!
C. S.
Noise. Lots of it. An absolute cacophony. But it was Saturday night, and most places would be a bit lively. None of them would serve burgers as delicious as the "Dip & Flip" we had, though. These were simply amazing, with or without gravy. Great service, too.
M. C.
Huge Messy Burgers...just the way I like it. In Brooklyn these places are popular, however I've never seen a burger and roast beef combined. It was a lot of meat, but it did the job. Felt like I was back in America, with the enourmous portions, but definitely recommend it for a gluttonous meal.
B. W.
The best burger we have ever had, amazing juice, cheesy & taste burger!
We also liked the cheese fries with mozzarella. Thanks Chef!
Friendly staffs and quick service!
S. K.
Great food but need better service!
B. W.
Idea of the dipping and eating is messy but...soooo tasty! Dare you to try it!;) Recommended!
K. D.
Epic burgers, amazing shakes, super friendly staff. My bf and i shared the chips with cheese, gravy and bacon. Not quite poutine without cheese curds but best loaded fries iv had from any burger place in london so far. I had a cheese and bacon burger and he had the green chilli burger. Both delicious!
The baileys and cheesecake shake was also amazing!
Will be back again soon
A. E.
Everyone I've brought here loves the food, as do I! The only downside I would say is the consistency, sometimes the food can come late or it will arrive cold. Also it varies from store to store, the Brixton store to me is a no go, every time I've been there the order is messed up or a member of staff has an attitude problem.
This is why we go to the battersea/Clapham area store.
The food here is tasty and the shop has just been refurbished. The artwork inside is great and the chips with gravy etc... very nice!
M. L.
Gravy gravy gravy!!! Lamb sammich with mint sauce drenched in gravy. If you're craving Sunday roast mid week then this is a great shout. Also their hot wings are beautiful! I wish they did bigger portions of wings on deliveroo!
S. J.
Ordered food to take away. ready in ten mins. Not only is this the BEST FOOD YOU CAN BUY IN THE AREA but they also package the take aways/delveries really well so that the chips dont become soggy - they use big paper bags and it works really well - got it home food hot and chips nice as if they had just been cooked rather than been in a bag for 20mins. DIP & FLIP IS THE BEST BURGERS YOU CAN GET IN BATTERSEA/CLAPHAM. I'm eating it right now.
P. B.
Great burger and fries, but for me the Jury is out on the little cubes of cheese. For me the curd cheese used in Canadian poutine is better. The gravy was lovely though.
A. A.
Delicious burgers, best ones I've tried in a while. Definitely have to experience dipping a burger in a bowl of gravy. Gets full so be sure to book.
C.
Damn good burgers. I'm a huge gravy fan, if you are too, give this place a go. The combo burgers that have a burger patty and roast meat are well worth trying
A. G.
It's the first dip&flip opened in London!!! One of the best places for burgers in London. You can dunk your burger in gravy! Fries are amazing. Staff is really cool.
M.
By a country mile the best burger in Clapham. Ace.
M. C.
Fantastic value and food quality. The meat sub with gravy is probably the best thing I’ve eaten in a while. Whenever I’m in London, this will be first on the agenda.
B. G.
Best burger ever!
I love the dip and flip burger, but even if you think that the gravy and roast beef is just a gimmick their normal burgers are fricking AMAZING
G. Q.
Staff ridiculously rude except one black hair waitress very smiley and kind. The hostess rude and the manager even worse. They rushed us to stop just ordering starters and order the burgers. I gave 3 stars just because of the food which is really good but if you are looking for a nice and relaxed night this is not the right place
X. V.
Best burgers in Clapham, can't be beat. Only given 4 because for a tenner should come with fries. Honestly how do fries cost to make.
A. J. G.
Aside from the utterly pointless inclusion of gravy I consider Dip & Flip to be the best burger place in London.
Transparent and fair pricing, good staff, you don't feel too much like a heffa when you leave as the burgers are on the good side of greasy.
Green chilli burger is the shyt.
f. s.
If you're into good comfort food this is the place. Massive burgers and nice fries. All dunked in gravy... Super place. Definitely a place to go back to.
M.
First time I've been back since the refurb, was worried it would be all change but happy to report it was just a logistical improvement so there's more customer floorspace. Even the wall art has remained cause I was pretty fond of the gravy train.
Food as per ushe was en point and the staff incredibly attentive, a well deserved 5 stars.
M. S.
Been here three times, the gravy is incredible (and I'm from the north), the one time i took an American here she said the burgers were juicier, tastier and better quality than any she has had in America... Winning
J. L.
Authentic and personable. Some of the best burgers I've had in London and the milkshakes are good. Staff here are amazing and efficient.
A.
Best burger in the area without a doubt. Can get messy for sure, but the roast lamb and gravy is delectable! Love the concept and the price is fair 👌
S.
Outstanding service, great food although burger was abit to well done for my own liking. Gravy was more than likely the best gravy I've ever had all in all a great dining experience.
C. S.
There wasn't enough room for us but the takeaway food was quicker than the time it takes to drink a pint. Damn those burgers are tasty! Highly recommended
T. B.
This unpretentious joint is all about the food, some of the best wings this side of the Atlantic followed by sandwiches/burgers of the highest quality accompanied by their trademark dip. The menu may be short but it is perfectly formed
A. L.
Absolutely perfect and tasty fries
The burger Double Cheese Bacon was awesome!
Amazing customer service. Very happy
5 star easy!
m. k.
Great food and friendly staff. However, it's not particularly good if you have young children. It's difficult to get in with a pram and there are no high chairs or baby changing facilities which is pretty surprising in 2018. They do, however, offer a kids' menu.
M. B.
Best burger place in London. Visit here every time I am in that part of the city. Great burgers, great chips, great milkshakes. Highly recommend Dip & Flip.
H. S.
One of the best burgers in London, and some seriously good milkshake options. Bit out the way but worth it. The price is decent for the quality!
M. S.
Just a great spot, very well priced burgers and sandwiches. The staff are friendly, and the room is bright and airy. The green chilli cheeseburger is leagues ahead of the other burger places nearby.
A.
Not one for gravy, but they might have changed my mind on that one. The loaded fries were amazing and the buffalo wings were so good we ordered another portion to take away.
A. W.
Great food. However the service was pretty poor. We had to ask for menus after waiting for ages then also asked for service. It's the second time I've been and it's always slow. The food and beer are awesome so I guess it's worth the wait.
L. T.
Gravy Soaked Beef burger with Roast beef what more can you ask for. Get there before 6pm to beat the queues. If you have the courage try the Pickleback they are surprisingly good!
J. G.
Served up some tasty burgers, fries and gravy. Customer service was delightful. First of many visits :)
B. B.
One of my favourite burger joints in london, the lamb burger especially has nice seasoning and the gravy is a good unique touch.
T. P.
Excellent burger with top quality taste and very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had
C. L. S.
My wife and I having a bit of lunch, found this place and the only thing we can say is OH MY GOD, I don't think I ever had a better burger, the cheese fries, even the milk shake. Now I understand what a real burger is.😆😆😆😆😆
C. M.
Literally the best burger place. Needs a spruce up and a lick of paint but the food is awesome and then there's the gravy!
F. K.
Excellent burgers. Would wish they could do medium rare like they used to but the meat they use is awesome. Well recommended.
B. L.
Good standard of burger. Shame no option of aged Pattie. Gravy was a tad weak. Also no beers
K. C.
Roast chicken sandwich with gravy. What is not to love? They do roast meat sarnies and dirty burgers. All served with gravy, yum!
H. H.
Very tasty burgers. I really loved that we could have rare burgers. The service was very friendly as well. Much better (and cheaper) than Byron and co!
S. W.
Super tasty. Bring a roll of kitchen paper. You'll need it.
(Also perfect if you're a few pints in and need to line the stomach)
Get the dirty fries with chilli+jalapenos.
K. C.
The squeezy cheesy fries are the best hangover cure ever! Staff are always friendly and food always good. The gravy is very tasty!
J. W.
Meal was prepared with love. Friendly staff and cooks. The science at which the bun was created to accompany the not-too-thick, not-too-thin gravy into the bliss of your mouth will blow your mind.
A. m.
Probably the 'dirtiest of all burgers' in a good way, slab of beef of lamb and gravy, last two visits the meat has been slightly overcooked and some beers were not available otherwise a 5 *
M. A.
Delicious, a real change from other burger places. Not a huge selection but really good at what they do and the fries were great too.
J. K.
Great place to relax get a little messy and enjoy some quality food with great service
T. E.
Great burger as ever, topped with roast beef, and gravy to dip, always a favorite visit after a day in London.
S. J.
Been here three times. Twice is been incredible, but the third time was just okay. Not great veggie choices, and shame they get a salad instead of a veggie gravy.
C. M.
Pretty good. Decent burger, good service. Just in that slightly awkward middle ground between fast food and a 'proper restaurant'.
W. X.
Decent Burgers has to be one of the better burgers in London. Nice concept will return for another...
G. M.
Great meal, fantastic atmosphere and I have to say, Doug (picture attached) is one of the friendliest/funniest waiter I've ever met.
Worth a visit!
J. M.
Great place, it won our burger review of 2014. Had one last night, service excellent again allowing me to order quickly and wait outside with my unchained bike.
J. Y.
Been here countless times - the lamb Dip & Flip burger is delicious and the Pickleback (shot of bourbon with a shot of pickle brine) is surprisingly tasty.
D. K.
I'm not usually a burger person but these guys do an out of control burger feast with fantastic fries. The picklebacks are a great compliment!
A. H.
I love their burgers! They're the best! Dip and Flip burger with lamb!
L. C.
A-mazing. Best burger in Clapham by a country mile, I'm not sure how much more that is than a regular mile but it seems like a lot.
D. G.
One of the best burgers in London
K. S.
Tasty burgers! Pics will say it all
S. S.
Not sure why they make everything too spicy and they dont wonder not all like spicy foods??
R. D.
Splendid burgers, fresh and juicy. Great chips. And gravy makes everything even better.
C. N.
Good food, great customer service. We didn't wait much for our food to be prepared. I'm very satisfied would visit again!
D. C.
Decent enough burger joint but not convinced the gravy & burger combo is anything but a gimmick. That aside base food is good.
B. B.
How did I not hear about this place before? Best burger place in Clapham Junction by a long shot. Extremely good service, quick delivery, and reasonable prices.
M. N.
Dip burgers are a nice variation to the normal burgers. Interesting hard milkshakes too. Young crowd very noisy.
c. m.
I had here some of the cheesiest meals of my life, love Dip&Flip!! Another must are the squeezy cheesy chips, and the milkshakes are a dream!
S. A.
Amazing! Your mouth will really appreciate the incredible nice taste of this burgers! Top 15 burger places in London
M.
Great place for burger lovers, you have to try your patty&bun with gravy which makes this experience like nowhere else.
T. T.
A very messy but totally delicious eating experience! Best burger I've ever had - seriously.
N. A.
Dip & Flip is one of London's best kept burger secrets - amazing burgers like roast dinner in a bun, with great gravy to dip it in.
P. G.
The lamb dip & flip is a killer! I totally recommend it, this place has so good burgers. Nice staff.
E. B.
Yummy food and welcoming attentive staff.
J. S.
The veggie burger here is delicious. Make sure you don't get gravy with your chips as it is not vegetarian!
P. S.
Great food, reasonably priced. The burgers are excellent but the patty melt is even better!
A. O.
5*****. Great. You should definitely go. The staff are really nice and helpful. Friendly place. Really great chocolate cherry ripe milkshake.
m. s.
Great and tasty burgers , specially this dip n flip with gravy special and the fried sweet potatoes too
L. R.
Food was lovely, we had the sandwich (1 chicken 1 lamb), chicken wings, cheesy chips & gravy and sweet pot fries and all of it was lovely...
L.
Very unique idea and one of the the best burgers I've ever had. Good service too
C. B.
Great burgers as always!
A. O.
I'm from the USA and I've never had a better burger than at Dip N Flip. No other place - on either side of the pond - even comes close.
D. T.
Their burgers are so good that I always have them as a comparison reference whenever I’m trying something else!
J. H.
Ridiculously good burgers! The dipping gravy only makes it better. Messy but fantastic!
L. S.
I thought the sound of burgers with gravy was horrible but it’s actually really delicious and we’ve been back four times! Try it!
O. “. M.
These burgers are to die for, my first experience dipping a burger into gravy 🤤
m. k.
Pretty good sandwich with a generous portion of gravy. Tasty wings also. Enjoyed it.
J. B.
Really, really tasty, very reasonable lunch menu, delicious milkshakes and cheesy burger
R. G.
The burgers were big and tasty, the dip & flip special was way to messy. A good eat out overall
S. P.
Very good burgers and the dipping isn't just a gimmick. A great twist on gourmet burgers.
J. L.
Best. Burger. Ever. So juicy. Go for the beef dip and flip and enjoy the flavours of a Sunday roast in a burger
M. P.
Green chilli cheese flip burger keeps me coming back and never disappoints!!!!! Best burger I've had in London
S. K.
The burgers are definitely different and juicy but the size is really small for the price.
j. o.
Obscenely good!!
P. K.
The atmosphere was great here and it was bustling, but the team seemed stretched. After asking for cutlery it took a while for it to come to us.
J. W.
Great burgers topped with rare Beef of Lamb. One of the best burgers in London.
R. S.
Filthy tasty burger. Special burger a unique experience. You will not be disappointed.
N. E.
No doubt the best burger I have ever had in all my life.

P. S.
