Reviews of El Inca Plebeyo Restaurant
Z. A.
Such a nice restaurant!! So cosy and authentic. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Giving my friend and I ponchos because we were cold. And advising us on the menu and about history of Ecuador! Even free shots! Food was so interesting and nice. Will be back for sure. 🧡🧡
M. M.
Unbelievable flavours, perfect cocktails, extremely friendly staff.
Everything freshly prepared and an incredible chef that's worth the wait along with the best Virgin mojitos in town!
S. Z.
Really good food and very friendly service! We had the classic ceviche and patacones to start, then the pearl barley risotto with lamb and the hornado - so so good. The desserts were even better: the quinoa pudding (?) and chocolate fondant were both amazing, especially for me who don't like things too sweet.
H. V.
Delicious food, cosy place and very good service !
We've asked the waitress to give us some recommendations and tried a few different dishes. We will be back :)
T.
Delicious and generous serving sizes. If you want to try food which packs a punch, has a range of textures and is good value for money, look no further. Will be visiting again very soon.

Nice little find whilst I was walking in the rain.
Love the decor, staff were friendly. Food was exactly what I needed - healthy and refreshing.
I went for the Ceviche Ecuatoriano to start, sopa marinera for main and a guarapo cocktail. All were very flavoursome and was the right amount of food for dinner. Would return and try some other dishes in future too!
Keep up the good work!
N. T.
Super authentic! The ceviche and the scallops were super amazing !
B. N.
Just a lovely place run by lovely people and the food is great and will leave you happy. Try the Ecuadorian Roast, spectacular. The ceviche is ok but really you're going here for the atmosphere, go with friends, drink and be merry.

Discovered just passing by, we were Amazed by the flavourful, soulful, incredibly earthy and tasty food, while beside it, the staff was super nice and friendly and made us feel at home. We tried a various selection of different things and not a single dish disappoint us and all in perfect portions. Well done! We will for sure come back, I must say, it's so rare to enjoy such food in a vibrant though relaxing spot, full of culture and folklore, here in London. A little gem in Islington! P.s. Gabriela and the other lovely girl really deserve a note of kindness, professionalism and warm touch that made our dinner even more special. Beautiful spot!

As an Ecuadorean I’m delighted to find an Ecuadorean restaurant that delivers on all fronts: delicious food, great service and decor with subtle Ecuadorean vibes :-)
L. D. R.
Great, well balanced meal. The Ecuadorian roast was delicious! Also, the server was so sweet to help me charge my phone! Overall great service.
V. Y.
All the food here tasted absolutely amazing. Very well cooked and the combination of flavours was just on point. Very good strong cocktails aswell!!! Would definitely recommend it.
Definitely try the pork belly, and the coconut flavoured fish stew. The plantain salad was also a great choice.
A. P.
A wonderful delight on Essex Road, very Friendly and delightful staff. Cocktails are recommended for an Authentic Ecuadorian experience.

Absolutely banging food! Beautiful restaraunt, and amazing staff! Really brought back memories for my partner who travelled around South America! The Ox Heart was to die for! Xx
T. B.
As a fellow Ecuadorian missing home, I was very surprised with the lovely decor, great prices and amazing food! I definitely recommend the encebollado (delicious fish soup) and some patacones on the side!❤️
F. T.
Mostly gluten free. Service was friendly and the food tasted like home cooked food. For the most part it lacked seasoning, almost everything could have used more salt.
All in all, a nice neighborhood spot to have dinner at.
k. d.
Fantastic food, great service and atmosphere! Staff were extremely friendly and walked us through the menu. Vegan friend was looked after as well, I was genuinely shocked at how good the mushroom ceviche was. Thanks for a great evening, will be back!!
H. A.
Have been here a couple of times now, both as a couple and as a group and both times the food was excellent, all the staff extremely friendly, great atmosphere and Jorge the head chef has personally come over to check on how our meal was.
One of our favourite London restaurants.
B.
The food is absolutely divine. Every dish was fresh and beautifully seasoned. The service was friendly and the decor was warm and inviting. I can't fault a single detail. I am definitely going aback and recommend you give it a try

Lovely little place! Came here with my family to celebrate my mums birthday. The food is definitely tasty and full of flavour. However the portion sizes are so small, being a fellow South American I am used to going to Spanish restaurants and getting so much more, so this left us all disappointed. Apart from that the staff were very nice!
G. M. (.
The food is quite good, but the price point is a bit too high on my opinion. The portions are good and the presentation is nice. The staff is friendly too.
L. G.
Very good experience. The cook has been trained in a Michelin restaurant and we can definitely see the quality here.
The lamb with barley and spinach was so even tastier than it looks.
The slow cooked pork with plantain and giant white maze was surprisingly amazing.
In the end, we had a caramelized pumpkin with homemade cheese that showed how skilled the cook is.
In any case, I strongly recommend this place for food and cocktails!
I. G.
The food was of surprising, of great quality and very flavourful. You immediately feel at ease in this traditionally and tastefully decorated place and the people running the place couldn't be more friendly. I'd highly recommend and can't wait to take some friends there!
We had seabass seviche for starter, the slowly cooked pork with giant corn and the chicken for main course. And the quinoa pudding for dessert.
S. H.
I highly recommend the pork belly! Absolutely delicious🤤
A lovely restaurant with very friendly staff.
P. J.
Marvellous Ecuadorian cuisine with an excellent service. Food do take a bit longer to arrive but the taste will justify that. Every menu I have ordered was simply amazing.
J. S.
Best restaurant in London!
Amazing food and great staff/owner!
G. A. G.
Oh my god, the food is divine and the cocktail was a delight. When lockdown eases, I'll dine in. Thank you, Jorge.
S. T.
Fantastic meal and one of the best meals I’ve had in London for a while, the ceviche was tasty and the standout dish for me was the Parrilla Plebeya, also worth trying the unique desserts!
M. V. C. G.
Second time and everything as before. Tasty food, comfy service. We’ll come back soon.
R. D.
Food is top quality. I recommend the fish stew and the slow cooked pork. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. The food doesn’t come too quickly which suggest it is freshly cooked. The cocktails were outstanding too.
A. “.
Nice food, very tasty and healthy, email place but everything is clean. Customer Service is good.
C. T.
El Inca Plebeyo has become a regular frequent amongst friends and I. We are always warmly greeted by the owner and staff who enjoy a friendly chat.
While largely a dish sharing cuisine setup, our favourite dishes to get on our own are easily the lamb & barley risotto (pictured) and charcoal chicken.
A friend had the new lamb and mushroom dish that was perfectly medium rare as requested.
We are definitely glad to have this gem back in the community after the lockdown!
C. C.
Amazing food, will recommend and come back. It’s a form of gourmet Ecuadorian food, really unique flavors.
T.
Delicious food, amazing service, authentic ambiance. Can’t say anything bad really… We’re definitely coming back for that pork roast!!
I. E.
This place is great. The food is very tasteful and unique. the environment, the service and everything about it is great. really nice visit. will certainly go again. Lastly, you absolutely need to try the quinoa pudding (dessert). you have no idea how good that is.
J. R.
Amazing food! As an Ecuadorian, I had high standards and El Inca met them all. The food took a little longer than expected but worth the wait.
E. S. P.
I had a wonderful first experience at El Inca Plebeyo! Food was stunning & service prompt. The atmosphere is also very relaxed, with typical touches and lovely colours decorating the space! Definitely recommended & can't wait to be back!
P. K.
Great find and wasn’t expecting it. I went at an off time, so service was attentive and had time to answer any questions I had. The food is fantastic with good flavor and perfect portions (not big, but exactly what is needed). I had the ceviche and hornado (roast pork) with a side of the mashed plantains, all of which were excellent. If you are very sensitive to salt, you may want to ask them if they can ease up, but I love salt so it was good for me. All in all it was great and I will be back for sure.
M. J.
Booked for lunch last Thursday at 1.30pm. Restaurant was cosy, and comfortable although quiet on the afternoon we visited. Ordered the tuna cerviche and sea bass cubes to start. This was delicious and very refreshing, served with excellent mojitos to cool us down from the warm afternoon. We also shared the hornados - crispy and tasty - and the main pork belly dish. The meat is served lightly shredded with giant roasted corn, some mashed potato and really lovely roasted plaintain - all very tasty. We were too stuffed for dessert but we will return another time to try these. The gentleman who served us was very helpful and guided us through the menu very well. Note that there is a good selection of gluten free options, all excellent. This is really good food served with care and thought - highly recommended!
S. D.
We had a great meal. First time eating Ecuadorian food, we really enjoyed the ceviche with fried plantain, the roast pork hornado, and a very light chocolate fondant. Service was very friendly and helpful. Cosy, relaxed atmosphere
F. R.
Delicious food and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
K. P.
Really nice Tuesday evening dining experience. Great coconut sea bass dish and beautiful slow roast pork. Pisco sours on happy hour were popular too.
S. G.
The seafood in the ceviche and the tiradito was beautifully tender, marinated to perfection as they say. The meaty dishes were superb and full of flavor too. The fig pud was delicately spiced accompanied with gorgeous creamy cheese. We had a bit of mix up as not able to use 20% off food and happy hour cocktails at the same time but seeing as everything was so tasty we weren't too put out.
m. p.
Very nice and cosy Ecuadorian restaurant, very good and tasty plate and super atmosphere!!I love it!
N. J.
Ecuadorian cuisine with a modern twist. I loved the hornado, more sucio, the prawns ceviche is excellent and the tuna tiradito one of my new favourites. Definitelly good and recommended.
F. S.
Amazing food and amazing people. Every dish has an unexpected and subtle flavor that makes them unique.
S. D.
Lovely food, recommended a visit in this little restaurant for good exotic dishes.
A. G.
The food was outstanding! I have never tried Ecuadorian food outside Ecuador (I am Ecuadorian) and to be honest it was like being at home. The flavours, the presentation, the attention, everything 10/10
S. C.
Delicious food and super kind service! We'll definitely be back
N. I.
Amazing food. The Ecuadorian Ceviche is a must! The service is great, Ecuadorian people willing to tell you more about their culture and cuisine. We enjoyed a lot our dinner and El Inca Plebeyo.
B. B.
Absolutely delectable! Staff are fun, friendly and provide the best recommendations! The chef Jorge is a masterful culinary artist who brings his own flair and flavour to classics and new dishes consistently! I’ve been here many times and it never fails to take my tastebuds on a journey to Ecuador.
The Ceviches are to die for, try them all! Highly recommend the Quinoa Pudding, a house specialty.
Will be back, time, and time, again! Many thanks to the team at El Inca Plebeyo for the fantastic food and incredible service!
A. C.
Such good food, will definitely be back. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
J. W.
A warm welcome for a group of 6 diners. Second visit and it was excellent. From the efficient and helpful lady who served us to the very tasty food we ate. Drinks were also very good. Really recommend this restaurant!
R. H.
Great food with staff who clearly care about what they're serving and their customers. Also interesting to find out about traditional Ecuadorian food, a must try!
K. 1.
Fantastic food, great service and good price! Every single item of food was incredible, and the cocktails were delicious too. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!
M. V.
We had a wonderful time! Great date spot - lovely decor, friendly staff, great drinks and delicious plates. Definitely get the ceviche
L. Y.
One of our favourite restaurants in the area. Cozy and the service is always great. The food is always fresh and delicious. Comida deliciosa y un ambiente hogareño.
N. T.
Came here for the ratings and because we are from Ecuador and haven’t had Ecuadorian food in a while.
First of all , overall great food: taste, presentation an quality. Also overall, small plates (although enough if you order a couple or a few to share)
Encocado: delicious! Kind of watery but great taste.
Honrado: legit and very traditional! Llapingacho (potato patty) our fav.
Mote pillo: accurate mote taste definitely, but the flavor is not great, in our opinion it is missing some salt.
Patacones: the best!
Morocho for dessert: If you know morocho in ecuador.. this is not it. Their own thing. Citrusy? Tajin? Definitely not a fan.
Quinoa pudding: never had it before but it is great! Very sweet and tasty. Reminds me of sweet Quinoa porridge.
Good service, looks clean and cool ambiance!
M. T.
Delicious food that none of us had tried before. The staff were so incredibly friendly and genuine and made time to chat and ask about us, which is so unusual for London! Gracias! Delicious patagonian Malbec wine and can definitely recommend the chilli and chocolate dessert. It was also just right level of buzzing but quiet with no need to shout to be heard. Definitely wil be coming back, although the vegetarian in our group has now tried all the veggie options, so we'd love to see new vegetarian mains on the menu next time!

Amazing ceviche, nice mains but for the price we were expecting bigger portions
J. G.
Delicious flavours, excellent ceviches and meat dishes. An excellent intro to Ecuadorian food. Portions were a little small, so then you order more and the bill ramps up pretty quickly. I’d definitely eat here again... I just might not go on an empty stomach
E. B.
Words can't describe how delicious each and every piece of ceviche and starter they have. Couldn't stop ordering plate after plate. Booking a table is a must
M. M.
Probably the best Ecuadorian restaurant in London. Maito amd Ceviche soup was delicious. Excellent customer service!!!
J. R.
The most delicious food from Ecuador! I am vegan and there are plenty of options on the menu, all very tasty and reasonably priced. One of my favourite restaurants in London.
C. Ö.
Food is nice if you like fish, lime and onions. 😊
S. J. P.
Outstanding. The restaurant was unfortunately at capacity when I phoned; Jorge the owner phoned me back two minutes later and said he'd moved some tables to accommodate us. On the actual night, the pisco sours and caipiroskas were perfect, we loved the tuna tiraditos and Maria, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable and lovely. We will def be back to this little gem of a place!
R. F.
OMG THE CEVICHES HERE. Try the classic one, the one with sweet potatoes. The richness and sweetness balances _so well_ with the super acidic tiger's milk, which by itself is already so amazing. The tiraditos and the meats are also superb, and the waiter guy is really nice and helpful. While this isn't super downtown, it's still within 2 minutes walk to a train station and if you like acidic food it's a must try.
C.
Very nice restaurant. Food tastes delicious and the portion is generous. Highly recommended
m. n.
Amazing place very nice stuff nice food 🥘 I recommend if you want to have a lovely moment with someone.
S. L.
Very fresh, great salads and ceviches
one of the only place in London with patacones the central and south American way. The staff is always lovely and helping. It feels like being in a small town in Ecuador with the time stopped. I couldn't recommand this place more. On Sunday nights it's peaceful.
B. C.
Excellent intro to Ecuadorian food! Went here on a recommendation. Great service throughout. We shared a selection of starters, mains ,and deserts. The cerviche was the stand out meal for us, and had an excellent South American twist.
B. H.
Delightful restaurant, a touch above the (superb) Brixton Market fare. You'd better like corn if you're visiting.
Start with a Guarapo and make sure you try the llapingachos. If you have nothing else the coconut milk fish stew (enconcado) is divine.
S. K.
Fantastic Ecuadorian Restaurant, very friendly and nice staff, food is great, highly recommended
C. L.
Lovely food and the service is excellent, very attentive without being overbearing. The dishes with the Tiger's milk is delicious, although we didn't quite get to see the tigers being killed - apparently they're out back and are milked at 5am in the morning (too early for me!). The ceviches are delicious and I had the pork belly for main course which was perfect 👌
E.
Excellent food and customer service. Authentic Ecuadorian food and creative fusions. Delicious.
L. H.
Ceviche was so tasty as was the encebollado, friendly service and nice place!
S. K.
Really enjoyed the food in this restaurant. Our party of five was literally the only customers at 19:00 on a Wednesday night which worried us but the food was delicious, excellently cooked and service was good for a reasonable price. Appreciate not a huge demand for Ecuadorian cuisine but we enjoyed it for a change.
A. D.
Loved everything about this place. Excellent Ecuadorian food. Dishes are full of delicious colors, scents and flavors. It's perfect for a full lunch or dinner as well as to stop for something small but tasty. Innovative combination of traditional ingredients!
T. B.
Great food! Very flavourful and well-prepared. Portion sizes were great for sharing - we ordered two appetisers, a side and one main and had more than enough to eat for two. Service is excellent and very friendly. Definitely go if you are nearby.
J. L.
This was our first taster of Ecuadorean cuisine, and if our meal here was anything to go by it certainly won’t be the last. Can’t fault anything about the meal. And the service was exceptional, even though we were a large group. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
B. A.
Had a really nice dinner for two. The ceviche plates were very tasty, pairing very well with the house red, P15 Malbec from patagonia, which I must confess was a positive surprise. Patacones as a side goes great with the ceviche and the desserts were a nice touch to finish the meal. As we dropped by on a tuesday, the pace was very quiet which gave us a chance for a nice friendly chat with the owner and finish off with a chupito of a local drink from Equador similar to cachaça. Super recommended.
A. G.
Had the Mixed Meat Platter, very big portion! The Lamb was perfectly cooked.
J. E.
Delicious, traditional Ecuadorian food and friendly welcoming staff. They have managed to create a lovely atmosphere as well as being very covid secure. Will definitely be back!
J. J.
The food was spectacular. It is of excellent quality but it still retains that homemade taste that Latin American food should have. The lentils, the pork belly are scrumptious. The waiting staff are very attentive and polite. I've been twice and I'll keep going back. Highly recommended.
H. L.
My partner and I walked in here on a whim and had the most delicious meal. The ceviche was amazing, the meat was divine. Can’t wait to go back once lockdown is over!
A. B.
In two words: thoroughly impressed. From the starters to main to dessert, each dish impressed on its own. The stars were the slow cooked pork and the quinoa pudding (although that does not lessen the merit of the other dishes). Starters: Sea bass diradito and sea bass ceviche. The diradito paired excellently with the patacones (on the helpful recommendation of the staff) and is otherwise a good balance of saltiness and citrus as could be expected. Sea bass ceviche was fresh and also hit the right balance of flavours, however was overpowered by the patacones and so is better had on its own where it’s flavours will shine. Mains: slow cooked pork and baby chicken. Pork held the right level of moistness and was soft but firm without being under or overcooked (even the edges). Consistent flavour throughout without the usual saltiness that comes with pork - was otherwise the best dish on the menu. Chicken was hot and tender, with the marinade unexpectedly standing out even among the chimichurri. Dessert: Quinoa pudding and chilli chocolate fondant. Think rice pudding x crème brûlée (closest in flavour to pυζόγαλο) but without the mushiness. The glazed top gave a good crunch texture (without being too thick) and complemented the quinoa exceptionally well. Chilli chocolate fondant was dark as would be expected. Brilliant on its own but does not stand near the quinoa pudding. Not to be missed is the freshly pressed sugar cane syrup for use in the ‘all too easy to down’ cocktails. Overall, some more things to try on the menu and definitely cemented a firm spot on the regular rotation. Also recommended for coeliacs.
G. G.
A very down to earth place with large portions (starters the size of a main). However, the food itself wasn’t special, neither in terms of taste, nor presentation. The place definitely gets points for authenticity but is not one I’d consider coming back to or recommending to others. Note: we were here during Eat Out to Help Out (in case that changes anything)
T. J.
Dropped in here for dinner wanting something light yet tasty and this place ticked all our boxes. Had the lamb risotto and the classic ceviche (incredible!) and we were blown away. Such inventive dishes and very different to anything we've eaten before. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
v. d.
Loved it! The food was delicious. Different from the usual. Good service. Will definitely go back.
J. Y.
We live nearby and have walked past this restaurant countless times before finally giving it a go and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the waitress helped to answer our questions and provide suggestions as we weren't too familiar with Ecuadorian food. The 2 ceviches we tried were delicious as was the roast pork with a side of chili mushrooms. Following dinner we immediately booked an upcoming dinner when family will be visiting us in London! Highly recommended.
V. F. R.
We ordered the street food and the jornada, and were fantastic. The desserts (chocolate and squash) were incredible. We went over lunch and there was about three tables only. I think they expect it to be slower at lunch time as the service was a little slow, but the food was fabulous and attention was kind. We'll repeat.
I. L.
Thank you so much Gabriela and all staff, good service and delicious food.
H. B.
This is absolutely one of my very favourite restaurants. It has an excellent and varied menu of extremely unique Ecuadorian dishes prepared by an exceptional head chef, with a brilliant team of friendly staff.
I really can't recommend this restaurant enough. Superb.
C. L.
Amazing food at this cozy restaurant.
Great atmosphere, Latin music, friendly chef & waitress and most importantly great flavours. The Ecuadorean ceviche is a must try, and a few dishes recommended by the lovely waitress were great too. Finally the chocolate chill fondant satisfies the most picky chocoholic!
Prices are very reasonable too, and I personally would rather support small locally owned establishments.
Ps we went on a Sunday night so service was fast. However as this is a small family owned restaurant, be patient and embrace the laid back Latino spirit :-)
D. C. C.
As soon as you enter the restaurant you will feel you are in Ecuador. Very beautiful and cosy restaurant with an amazing management and even more amazing food. Highly recommend!
I will definitely return. Thank you Jorge for your hospitality.
K. S.
This place is a real gem! It’s obvious that a lot of care went into everything from dish presentation to interior details. My favourite is the encebollado soup - so hearty and delicious! I used to order it all the time pre-lockdown and getting it delivered was one of gastronomic highlights of the whole quarantine period
D. D.
I had an amazing time here with my husband last Friday evening - what a fantastic restaurant.
All the staff at El Inca Plebeyo were so friendly and helpful (I definitely recommend asking for menu suggestions) - we felt right at home in their upstairs outdoor seating area.
To start I had the Ceviche Clásico (sea bass) - it was absolutely delicious, packing in so much amazing flavour, and delicious with a plantain accompaniment (Patacones). My husband's starter was equally delicious in a more hearty/savoury way.
The mains were absolutely stunning (Grilled Chicken/Pollito a la Brasa and Ecuadorian Roast/Hornado), so rich with flavour and careful cookery.
I'd highly recommend you give it a try - this was an incredible introduction to Ecuadorian cuisine.
S. M.
Really nice place with friendly staff and authentic Ecuadorian food. Do check it out if you're looking to try something new. The cocktails were my favourite part - really nice, especially if you make it over during the happy hour!
C. L.
Excellent food, nicely presented in a cozy environment. My favourites were the Tuna tiradito and the pork belly. Will make sure to come back some time soon! Thank you
R. C.
I always walk past this place as we live nearby, and was curious about the menu and the Ecuadorian cuisine. All I can say is WOW....it was simply amazing! First of all it wasn't too crowded at all on a Friday night, which was a welcomed change to enjoy conversation with my partner over dinner. Second was the service -- the 2 girls helping us were friendly, informed, and helpful. And third of course was the FOOD. We started off with a cooked prawn ceviche that was extraordinary, followed by the mains of Ecuadorian pork roast. The flavours and textures were so good and we savoured every bite! We thought we would have room for dessert in the end but alas no. We will definitely be back!
S. C.
We visited with our Taste Card to get 50% off food. The ceviche was delicious as was the bean salad. The mains were a little on the small side. With the discount this was acceptable but I think at full price the food is expensive. Overall a nice experience trying some different flavours.
S. G.
I would reccomend this resturant to anyone in love with South American food but looking for a twist. The meals are just to die for, the beer is great and the staff are so sweet. <3 My favorite meal was the grillied chicken and the panza de cerdo, the flavours in these dishes were delicious and colourful definitely worth an instagram post. <3 Gracias por la comida bonito y delicioso!
T. L.
Great tasting food, the ceviche was really flavoursome and good quality fish. Recommend the chocolate pudding, rich gooey centre with a nice cream. Will go again
A. L.
Family run restaurant with OUTSTANDING food and a relaxed atmosphere. The cervice dishes were probably the best I've ever had. Tasty but still fairly light. I'm just sad I didn't find this restaurant earlier in my life.
J. C.
Went here for a birthday dinner before the lockdown and had the best evening! The food was delish, and wait staff so friendly and accommodating! Everything was 10/10 - will be back for sure
M. M.
Visited here on a Tuesday afternoon and somehow we were the only ones in the restaurant. This shouldn't be possible given how fantastic the place is. We had a couple of cocktails, both of which were enjoyable.
We had the Ceviche Ecuatoriano and Mote Sucio as starters. We're big fans of ceviche and enjoyed the offering here. I look forward to trying the other options another time too. The mote was something new to me and I really liked it. The corn goes well with the pork and makes a nice change from some other carbs.
I had the lamb with pearl barley and my girlfriend had the pork belly. Both were excellent. The pearl barley makes a nice alternative to rice and complemented the lamb nicely. The spinach puree made it very green but this makes it stand out as something a bit different. The pork belly was absolutely delicious and I'd definitely order it for myself next time.
The chilli chocolate fondant was a nice way to finish the meal. I might hav preferred it a bit spicier but it's probably wiser to keep it on the milder side.
The place is only a short walk from Angel station and is well worth the trip. Look forward to visiting again in the future.
S. P.
I work close my too this restaurant always wanted to go in and I did. The food is very unique and tasty. The lady that worked there provided us with great recommendations. Loved the plantain salad. Will defiantly return.
J.
Absolutely amazing. Great service, great atmosphere, and the food is just amazing.
The ceviche, pulled pork, and quinoa pudding we had are all really tasty. Really highly recommended!
K. A.
Delicious, interesting food in a cozy environment. Probably best to have reservations on the weekend, though we went early and were able to squeeze in. Haven't been to Ecuador myself, but my husband said it was as good as anything he had there.
S. O.
This my second time here; the food is more than wholesome, authentic and very, very good value. The team (front, bar and kitchen) have been working together for years, and it shows. They have personalities and care about what they do, rare in a world of Costa coffees. Only open six months, the menu is limited but still offers variety. Cerviches, steak and corn stew to be particularly recommended. Do check this country kitchen out.
S. K.
Found this via tastecard with 50% off the bill thought we would try it. The location was a little "off the beaten" track of restaurants near Upper St however easy to get to. First impressions was that it's very small and feels a little cramped however the décor, friendly staff and amazing food made up for that. Our waiter that evening was Fillipo and he was very good at explaining the menu and super friendly. The ceviche ecuatoriano was AMAZING, the layers of tastes complimented each other so we'll and the sea bass was very fresh. The lamb rump was super tender and we'll cooked (medium rare). The pork belly was melt in the mouth goodness. The cocktails were also very good. The sides were very tasty too. We tried both deserts as they seemed different however we didn't care for them much, not to say they weren't good but if we returned we would order more cocktails for desert instead ! In summary this was a sensational find and we will definitely return !

Seriously, this is the freshest most fantastic food I've found in london! And the people are so amazing. Literally the owner/chef had to be called in to prepare food for my friends and brother visiting. If you are looking for spectacular food for a super reasonable price. COME HERE! I've memorized the menu at this pint. And everything is absolutely delicious. You will not be disappointed
C. S.
Food is ok service is a hit and miss though
B. P.
Alway excellent, exceptional good for gluten free
S. H.
Definately one of the best restaurants I have tried in London. We had the ceviche de camaron and the ceviche ecuatoriano, both of which were stunning. For a main dish we had the hornado, a very rich dish that comes in a generous portion; the meat was simply cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and eager to answer all of our questions as well as explain the origins of the dishes. A very cozy restaurant that offers an amasing experience. 5🌟

Absolutely amazing food! De-li-cious! The best ceviche! Very welcoming staff and very pleasant decor. Highly recommended!
K. M.
This place will be our new fav local restaurant! Delish food, had the fava bean and cheese salad, the incredible coconut white fish stew, and the grilled seabass and lentils/rice. Everything was fabulous (including the Ecuadorian chocolate cake at the end) and we were lucky enough to have live music that night as well. The servers were wonderful, very friendly and genuinely nice people - we will be back!!
S. S.
Just amazing, if you have a doubt, I can just say : you have to discover this place. The waitress is absolutely nice and helps you to choose, the flavours are incredible. The chef is an artist. My favourite restaurant in London.
A. L.
Highly recommend! Went here with a few friends and it was my first time trying Ecuadorian food. The restaurant itself is vibrant and cozy, and the family that runs it is super friendly! The food was excellent, my favourites were the Ceviche Clasico and Ecuadorian Roast (Hornado).
A. S.
One of the best restauranta in london. I went there for a birthday dinner and had the best selection of food, so tasty, and delicious. Sensational mix of flavours, I highly recommend the prawn chevice and chocolate and chilly dessert! And the waitress was lovely and very friendly!
J. B.
The food here is insanely delicious. Super recommend, wow!
A. S.
Great little local restaurant. Have been here a couple of times and have been taken aback by the friendly service both times. Risk free in terms of the quality of the menu too. Best pisco sours around be sure to try.
r. D.
Very tasty food, high end cuisine
s. b.
Had such a lovely lunch and had the opportunity to talk to Jorge! His food and story were incredible.
Delicious dishes (risotto, mushroom ceviche, quinoa salad and chili mushrooms!). Looking forward to returning for the famous quinoa pudding :-)
D. K.
Solid 4 stars - good food, good service and moderately priced.
Some great tasting authentic dishes, lots of seafood. Nothing groundbreaking but decent.
M. G.
The decor may be a bit kitsch, but the food is superb and the owners are super nice and welcoming. I have now eaten almost every item on the menu, and there is nothing that disappoints, and the standards are always kept. The ceviches and tiraditos are as fresh as it gets, and well balanced. But I prefer the more unsual items on the menu, such as a recent home made sausage on sweet potato puree, having this perfect combo of sweet and spicy and fatty. Or the salads, some with an excellent home made fresh cheese. Or the amazing quinoa dessert, which sounds bland, but is some kind of creme brulee, except with the added textural contrast of the quinoa.
The food is also extremely well priced given the amount of care that goes into preparation.
Strangely, this place is rarely full (probably because its on a strange stretch of Essex rd), and I really do not understand why. Go there people, its amazing!
A. D.
The food was really lovely. The ceviche was amazing and a must try. The waiters were really kind and attentive. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food!!
M.
My favourite of all was the ceviche ecuadoriana
Jeorge is an exquisite chef. He knows his ingredients and he is passionate which traslate well in the flavours combined ceviche and marinated meats. Love it. Watch out this restaurant as more surprises coming soon this summer! Feel good restaurant perfect for coeliacs and those who have a prediliction for fine ecuadorian food. Go and try
P. B.
Second time we have been back and the food is always amazing! Always lovely service too - the fish stew and classic ceviche are my favourites
l.
4.5 stars for great service. Restaurant was busy for a Friday night, but they respected table distancing quite well.
The seafood rice, ceviche, & pork were all really enjoyable & generously portioned (we took home our leftovers!). With 2 pisco sours, a bottle of wine & tip, the bill was ~£44 per person.
D. M.
This is a very nice little restaurant. The ceviche is very tasty, the patacones are great and the fish soups are delicious. Service is also very good. Thoroughly recommend!
C. D.
My friends and I had a great 3x course meal. Hearty comforting food with refined flavours. Service is friendly and accommodating - will return soon!
H. H.
One of our favourite places in the city, we love this place and come here very often. They have the best ceviche and the fish soups are fabulous. Excellent service and great atmosphere.
K. V.
Very tasty food, excellent service which is why it was a very pleasant evening. A really good choice for people new to Ecuadorian cuisine.
D. S. H.
This was a surprise meal from my partner, we were very happy they were open on easter Monday she chose the food. I can happily say I have never eaten food so well prepared and presented. I said to the chef (the owner) that the fish tasted like it swam here today and was carefully placed on my plate. I can't wait to return. And I will definitely tell my dear friends. Thank you El Inca Plebeyo for a wonderful evening. I arrived hung over from yesterday but the food I ate feels like it's cleansed me. Muchissima gracias
A. D.
Really good food, definitely suggested
D. P.
Fantastic food and service! The chicken dish in coconut sauce was absolutely phenomenal. The quinoa dessert (yes, I know what it sounds like) was heavenly.
N. C.
I wanted my London friends to try latinamaerican cuisine on my birthday, for we had a buffet dinner at el Inca Plebeyo with different entres and mains, and this was the best place, food was delicious, good location and great service, try the Encocada de pescado (fish in a lovely coconut soup) is one of the best i ever had and my favorite drink was the pisco sour. The interior decor was styled after traditional Ecuadorian restaurants. I recommend sitting upstairs on the roof top. Very very nicely prepared in higher quality fashion and substantial quality compounded by a nice variety of classic ecuadorian dishes makes this a definite win, real authentic Ecuadorian food.
T. S.
Very cosy atmosphere, actually quite good for a date if you can find a quiet mid week night. Tasty food and nice combinations with not too much on the menu but enough for a treat!
R. R.
Friendly staff, guacamole with plantain was fantastic! Hornado was too salty and somewhat overcooked.
K. H.
Amazing Ecuadorian food! Per the waitress, the chef worked at a 1 michelin star restaurant as a sous chef at Gordon Ramsay's Savoy restaurant back in 2012 and has since progressed on with his career. I went for the Parrilla Plebeya meat platter. Staff were all friendly! Definitely will be returning!
B. M.
Wow, one great meal! My wife and I enjoyed the food, the decor, the staff, so pretty much everything. Great ecuadorians classics with some creative touches!
R. F.
Food is pretty good and the menu is quite unusual, making this place quite exciting to visit. Only downside is the very slow service - just be patient and you'll be served. I guess one can say it's worth the wait.
S. C.
Amazing food, fantastic service. This is the 2nd time we've been and it was even better! Check El Inca Plebeyo out
J.

The ceviche, pulled pork, and quinoa pudding we had are all really tasty. Really highly recommended!
T. L.

Delicious, interesting food in a cozy environment. Probably best to have reservations on the weekend, though we went early and were able to squeeze in. Haven't been to Ecuador myself, but my husband said it was as good as anything he had there.

Had a really nice dinner for two. The ceviche plates were very tasty, pairing very well with the house red, P15 Malbec from patagonia, which I must confess was a positive surprise. Patacones as a side goes great with the ceviche and the …

We visited with our Taste Card to get 50% off food. The ceviche was delicious as was the bean salad. The mains were a little on the small side. With the discount this was acceptable but I think at full price the food is expensive. Overall a nice experience trying some different flavours.
J. C. V.
This place has great food!! A must try in the area and it also has taste card offer which makes it even better. Great ceviche, tiradito and sweet plantain. Totally recommended.

What an amazing place for a delightful meal. I stayed on the meaty options, while my wife went for fish and shellfish. We really enjoyed the sumptuous flavours and textures. And the staff are super friendly.
M. S.
First time trying Ecuadorian cuisine at El Inca Plebeyo. It’s rare these days I discover a National cuisine I haven’t tried. Very corn & plantain based as you’d expect for that part of the world. We had for starters a Tamal, Llapingachos with ox heart. For main a Pearl barely risotto with lamb, Hornado ‘Ecuadorian pork roast’ & patacones (plantain) as a side. To finish a gooey chilli chocolate fondant. All of it had its own flavour & texture. The venue is very quaint too and excellent service.
