Reviews of El Pastor
P. B.
Yummy tacos. I only tried El Pastor tacos and they were really good. I also found the children 's menu very good and good value for the portions they give you. Would love to go back and try some more
R.
Food was really nice! We had the tuna tostada and short rib both were full of flavour. For desert the corn cake is an interesting flavour but lovely.
S. T.
A nice and buzzy place. Really enjoyed our meal here this evening. Food, service, and atmosphere all great. Good food variety from snacks, starters, main to dessert.
A great selection of drinks to choose from also. Some very interesting and adventurous margaritas to choose.
Staff were attentive, friendly and approachable. Really recommend the place.
M. L. R.
Drinks were very good however the food is a bit disappointing. Its good but just ok. Service was not the best, had to chase multiple times, and we weren't told the kitchen was closing. So overall, good food but not enough to come back unfortunately.
K. H.
Selected this place as it came up several times when searching for best Mexican restaurants in London, and it definitely it. The menu is good and doesn't have too many choices. Cocktails are amazing! Definitely will be going back. Service is friendly and efficient

Best Mexican food I have ever indulged in I must say. The ripeness of the lime was forever present within the beautiful and carefully manufactured guacamole. The lightness of the taco pleaded my taste buds to a level of comfort which I don’t think I’ve ever been a custom too. The tenderness of the chicken combined with the seasoned coriander complimented the buzzy vibe of Borough market. Not the cheapest location but oh boy I felt like a kid on Christmas Day, worth every penny.
A. R.
Freshly made tortillas: crunchy and juicy, just as it should be. With a variety of sauces and meat options.
The cocktails were good too, the dessert was okay.
F. J. A. R.
Good place for eat a most close flavour for the tacos al pastor in very good flavour
The salsas is good but not spicy is for the local people is perfect
the guacamole is tasty
The Esquite the corn was over cook little burn
The margarita very good the frozen is sweet and the margarita on the rock is good
The michelada is good but only one the mix is not so good this is my taste
The mezcarita is good for people they want to try something different and the corn cake is good you need to try
K. S.
Amazing food, great drinks and excellent service! Covid safe: temperature checks before entering and staff disinfect the table properly between customers ( even spraying down the napkin holder!)
A. M.
Very nice food ! Best mexican ive had in london so far! Beware portions are small but they were so good ot doesnt matter!
El pastor and the pork tacos were delicious and its good to order guacamole too as it balances the spicy dishes...also the jamaica flower drink is delicious! The staff is super nice and fast, overall great experience and worth waiting in line for !
N.
Absolutely loved dinning here. The rib was outstanding. Plenty of tortillas and you can get as many as you want free of charge. The corn cake with corn ice cream was delicious.
E. M.
El Pastor is one of those lovely restaurant that makes you feel at home. The dishes were tasty and authentic. The service was friendly and fast. Overall good value for money.
F. A.
They've managed to prepare a nice Pastor Pork, recommended! In general the food is great but not cheap which I usually don't mind but... I've payed for more expensive tacos with less flavor but I've never ever been charged separately for the sauce... really? I hope they come to their senses in this matter.
V. R. M.
Great food. But it’s supposed to close at 11pm and before 10:30 they make a point of making you feel you should leave. No respect for customers. I wouldn’t come back.
G. K.
That was the second time visiting El Pastor. 1st was in the branch in Soho and this time it was in Stoney Street. The staff were very attentive and anticipating our needs. We tried Guacamole, Chicken Tinga Tostada, Al Pastor Tacos, Chicken Tacos, Prawn Tacos and all the 5 Salsas. We loved everything from the food. Our server was Laura and she really exceeded our expectations by being extremely professional on serving our food and taking care of the whole service. We would definitely visit again.

I’ve been here a couple of time, once when it first opened and one more recently. Although the prices are still high I think the quality has improved from the early days.
The cocktails were great and we tried the al pastor tacos (these were amazing and a great homage to the tacos you get in Mexico City) and the Short Rib sharer. This was amazing, meat was super tender and tasted great. It’s surprising how many tacos you get out of this dish. Will be back again
T. O.
Was very good, I ordered the mushroom taco and it was incredible
Staff were very nice and helpful
P. L.
The food was amazing. It tasted like Mexico. Fresh ingredients and incredible flavour. The Tacos Pastor were delicious and the Mushroom Tacos had a nice kick. Great beers available. Friendly and helpful staff. The head chef was super nice. Highly recommend.
A. G.
In the hearth of Borough market in a nice corner. That gives it a few stars. But I found it quite over priced. The tacos are good (not particularly amazing but good). But be prepared to remain a bit hungry unless you want to spend quite some money. Tacos starting at about 6-7£ for two very small ones. I guess it was worth trying it just to know to don’t head there again. The margarita was nice though.
N. M.
THANK YOU IZZY
I came into the restaurant today to order for Takeaway but discovered that El Pastor, typically, does not offer this.
I went to a nearby restaurant and asked if they'd give me some takeaway boxes and then worked with El Pastor on this one occasion to get a takeaway order.
Izzy was super flexible, friendly and accommodating and I can't thank you and the team enough.
I hope you consider doing Takeaway!

An excellent Mexican restaurant in Borough Market with a good menu of Mexican food.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Although we arrived at 21:30pm the kitchen was still open.
We enjoyed a selection of Taco's, and really enjoyed the Rib Sharing Platter which was excellent.
I would certainly recommend that as a dish to try as it was well roasted and dropped off the bone, succulent and moist and fairly a large portion enough for 3.
A great place to go for Mexican food.
P. P.
Love love love the tacos here 😍 !!! The prawn and baja are my absolute fave 🤤! Good margaritas too! Made me reminisce about my 🇲🇽 trip! Was hoping for some churros, but glad they didnt have any... Was stuffed on the many yummy tacos! And to top it off.. Doggo friendly!!! 🥰
T. C.
Excellent Mexican food. Went here after multiple recommendations and it really didn't disappoint. I ordered a cross section of the menu and everything was excellent and all perfectly balanced. The tuna taco have a lovely almost beef fillet texture with a strong flavour followed up by the sesame oil. The Guacamole had sharpness from the onion and sweetness from the tomato which the salty chips pounding the flavours home. Lastly the weekend special of lamb barbacoa was presented wonderfully and the handmade tortillas act as the perfect vessel for the deep, rich lamb flavour.
C. B.
We had a good lunch time meal here. We shared the short rib between three adults, which was very flavoursome and with additional tacos provided, there was enough to eat. I do think that it can become a little pricey if you ordered a number of tacos in here to try make up a meal, sharing platters represent better value. The service was good and the waiter did make it clear to shout for additional tacos. It's certainly the most adventurous place in Borough Market, but there are other restaurants that offer better value.
E. M.
Pretty average food. Some good and bad dishes. Pricing pretty standard for London bridge.
The good: the sweetcorn, the pork and the beans
The bad: the beef (under seasoned) and the fish
M. D.
Craving tacos, this place was very well reviewed. Waited 45 minutes so had quite an appetite. Tacos were tiny - smaller than your hand, so very poor value. Chicken tacos were very good, but again small so had to get 6 and still hungry after. Pastor and Crab tacos were very ordinary i wouldn’t bother with them. I won’t go again.
D. M.
Flavoursome food, my favourite dish is the Chicken Tinga Tostada, I highly recommend it.
T. H.
Disappointing. Had the guac, totops, 3 tacos al pastor and a michelada... came to over £30 inc service.
Guac and tacos were both extremely salty, to the point that the al pastor tacos reminded me of jerky.
The tacos at Mestizo in Euston are miles better, as are any you would find in an average taqueria in Mexico.
Bottom line, if you want authentic Mexican food in London then head to Mestizo or cook it yourself.
A. T.
Lovely to sit outside to eat in Borough Market. Service is friendly. Food is very good. Interesting margaritas which are good as you would expect for £10. But the downside is the price / portion size: £12.95 for two prawn tacos (special of the day) is the worst example. Most of the tacos are £7 for 2 which is not too bad. If you're sitting outside enjoying Borough Market go by, probably worth it, but maybe not if you're inside.
P. M.
Food was excellent and served quickly once ordered, but had to get waitress's attention on a couple of occasions when we were waiting to order drinks or food, although it was busy.
No availability to book in advance, so turned up on a chilly night to see if we could get a table and they said it would be approx 20mins wait, but instead of waiting outside in the cold, they said to use the Walkin app which would notify us when our table was ready, so went and got ourselves a nice warm mulled wine in Borough Market whilst we waited then we got a message saying our table was ready.
D. S.
Very busy. Ordered beef short rib sharing platter. Meat was delicious but disappointing amount of accompaniments, hardly any red cabbage or salsa. Bone marrow had a disturbing crunch! We watched much nicer looking dishes going past to other tables and wished we had ordered differently!
I. O.
Great food, great cocktails and awesome service. The staff were suoer friendly and accomadating. What more can you ask for!
S. H.
I almost don't want to write a review, so it doesn't become even more popular. The food and margaritas are excellent here! It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. The service is quick as well, try to show up at 6 for dinner if you don't have a reservation.
1.
Had some lunch there after visiting the market. Amazing! Friendly and welcoming staff. The good was incredible so tasty!
K. N.
Great food & drink(s).
Friendly service staff.
J. F.
Real mexican food. Mexican approves. The portions are little but very tasty. The staff is really friendly and by the way they all speak Spanish. The place is full of Mexican details. I recommend the sharing plates because the tacos are too expensive for just 2. Really good food.
A. L.
Great tacos. The wait is absolutely worth it. Try the Acapulco beer. Guacamole has way too much lime - as usual to get it over the day without getting brown. Cocktails are good. The flan is divine. Service is quick and friendly and the ambience is cool for street food.
R. C.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The atmosphere is good and the service was decent however the portion size is ridiculously small for the price, as some other reviews here state. I was hungry after finishing my meal. It is a shame as the food is quite delicious, but still not worth the £10.50 taco that you can finish in 3 small bites.
M. H.
Amazing tacos! Also try Gringa Quesadilla, it's absolutely amazing, great mix of toasted cheesy meaty goodness!
E. D.
no words to describe the crab taco... my mouth is still watering 🤤
The Sea bass ceviche' pieces were a little too small for my taste... but the flavour was exceptional. Congrats to the chef and the whole kitchen!
V. J.
Tasty tacos in the heart of borough market. We reserved a table and had a 45 minute wait while having some drinks in the area. The booking system warns you by text when your table is ready. Staff were friendly and service was great. We loved the atmosphere of the place too. One to come back to
R. W.
Great welcome and nice decor. The menu is quite small but food was excellent. We had a great evening, but the service was not always very attentive and we had to call waiters over on a couple of occasions because we had been left without service for a period of time
C. F.
Hands down to this restaurant. I never really loved Mexican food till I tried these tacos.
Food? Absolutely amazing. Fresh. Well seasoned. Great combinations.
Restaurant? Clean. Warm. Organized.
Atmosphere? So good! Even if you're going just for a drink or for a dinner.
Cocktails? Seriously the best place to drink a margarita (they have blackberry frozen and spiced mango and passion fruit flavours!!!)
Service? Cherry on the top. All people are really nice and helpful and the dishes came to the table super fast.
Honestly, a 5* recommendation.
(A little bit expensive but honestly the quality of the food, drinks and service... worth it. You pay the all experience)
Dont forget to drink a mezcal at the end of the meal (they have a huge mezcalaria!!!!)
T. L.
If you’re in the mood for tasty tacos, you’ll love this Taqueria located close to Borough Market. With fresh tortillas, a selection of salsas and plenty of Mezcal, you’re in for a treat. The tacos are small but super tasty. It gets very busy here and you can't book a table so go early lunch if you can.
A. W.
Good place to go with friends, good atmosphere and fast service. Best = Tuna Tostada + beef sharing tacos!! Not too bothered about the El Pastor taco despite hearing good things, the other items we ordered far outshone it. Cocktails are amazing, but pricy at £10 each - still worth it for atmosphere and location.
M.
Personally thought it was so overpriced with tiny portions. All style no substance. Kept being warned by the waitress how spicy everything would be including the chocolate desert but everything was just very plain with little to no real spice. Flavours pretty mixed up and lacking. Desert was v good and margarita on ice was decent but again £8 to £10 for these tiny pairs.... weird.
Bill had some charity of the restaurant put on it that the expected me to pay without mentioning before or after... again what a weird thing to do. Hey look I'm clearly the minority ad place was busy at 6pm on a Wednesday but I will never go back and will never recommend to anyone else. 2 people, 1 glass wine , 1 margarita, 1 coke and food in tiny portions was £100. If it was £60 maybe you'd say ok given the location but yeah never again.
A. N. D.
Really enjoyed this place! It had a joyous atmosphere, but we felt chilled out too. The staff are really welcoming and friendly, cannot do enough for you. Margaritas are fab! Had a wine after too that was good, we loved how the serve it in a small short tumbler. The portions are small, but delicious! We ordered the carnitas, which were gorgeous. It's supposed to be shared, but we said that one person could have it to themselves. The food was so fresh and tasty, it was a culinary highlight of our trip to London.
D. A.
Really good food but portions are small, we had a mix of tacos which came quick, the dessert was the highlight the corn cake had a very unique twist of flavour , I do not know if I will come again as it is overpriced for the food you get , good job we came with the eat out to help out promotion
J. R.
The food was ok (small portions for the price) and the drinks were nice (although one did get dropped down my step-dad). The chicken tacos were odd in that they were just one lump of chicken, and the skin was very chewy. From other reviews, we should have got the sharing platter. Our waitress could have been a lot friendlier, the service seemed a little cold and not very personal. The venue is very cool though, and a good location.
M. L.
I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mushroom tacos. The flavours and the nice touch of pumpkin seeds made for an exquisite meal. The food came very quickly and the staff were friendly. Not much more a vegan foodie can ask for!
V. M.
Experiencing this place was really delightful! Loved sitting outside with the enegry of Borough Market. I think the food uses fresh ingredients and you can tell everything was made from scratch. I really liked the Seabass Ceviche and the Spiced Mango Margarita those were probably my favourite parts. I had the Baja taco which was nicer, could have done with some more seasoning but it was tasty. Also I liked all three salsa's but as a spice lover they weren't hot enough for me so that's worth noting. What made it only 3 stars was the fact that it was overpriced for the portion sizes- for one drink, a Ceviche and one portion (2 tacos) of tacos to be close to £27 is a bit mad! Also the waiters liked to rush us, and our server was quite rude and unhelpful at the end! The receipt showed us the discount (government discount) but didn't tell us the percentages or anything that'd make splitting the bill easy and he was quite snappy, rolling his eyes and so on. This was unsavoury and probably won't return due to this but prior to this the dining experience was pleasant.
M. d. G.
Super Mexican in London!!!! The tacos al pastor at aaaaamazing, the carnitas are great, and the guac is delicious! Very authentic and great vibes for lunch around Borough Market. Love it! Price / quality is good but if you order Margaritas or drinks it will be a bit pricey.
C.
Another successful dining experience at one of our favourites. Our server Francisco was very attentive, friendly and nice.
S. K.
Great food, short rib (with extra tortillas) to be recommended.
However poor service, food comes when ready but this meant that a bowl of refried beans was served an hour ahead of any tacos or the tortillas… long delays between dishes arriving and ignored by waiters when trying to order extra drinks to fill the time… could have been a one off, but the guy with the clipboard was also extremely dismissive and unhelpful in accommodating small requests…
S. A.
Highlights: Baja fish tacos, La Maya salsa (pineapple and habanero), avocado ceviche, the shrimp taco special, and the chocolate mole tart!
Went here for dinner while staying in Borough, and liked it so much we went back the next day! Possibly one of the best meals I've ever had.
S. R.
Really fresh and tasty, friendly staff. Would recommend. Soft shell crab was incredible
N. O. (. F. N.
Nice place (VERY BUSY so the service felt rushed). We had a few tacos and delicious cocktails. Had the service been a a bit better, I would have given it a 5 star.
B.
Always love El Pastor - in particular their soft shell crab tacos are fab! If there is one issue it's that the bill climbs quickly with so many small plates; that's almost always the case for this type of sharing menu though. I will definitely go again
I. D.
The food is fantastic, great service from the staff too. The only thing is, it's a bit too expensive for what you get portion wise. You can easily order more and more due to the small size of tacos, which is normal. However at £12 for the two tacos it's a bit pricey and doesn't really gain a repeat visit from me. Over all decent place, but needs to lower prices for what you get.
A. J.
Need to do this place properly at some point... When I've saved up!
The tacos al pastor are very very good, but the ceviche was too sour for my liking. A bit too much lime , maybe. Absolutely ridiculous mezcal menu.. I'm fairness, that's what we went there for, so we're happy!
It ain't cheap though.
S. A. G.
We love going here for our Mexican food! The only problem is it's not very comfortable! It's located in the very busy borough market and so I imagine there is a very high turn around of customers each day so maybe that's why the seating isn't that great? Apart from that... the food is amazing! If you're looking for some really tasty and unique Mexican food in London I do recommend this place over any chain restaurant! - We usually order one of the sharing platters (for 2 ppl) a taco starter and a nice cocktail and leave STUFFED!
E. L. H.
Great food, great ingredients, great service but the portions are on the small side for the price. Was really excited to try this place given that it was opened by The Barrafina crew. We arrived around noon on a Saturday and were quickly seated but within half an hour the entire restaurant was hopping.
As soon as we sat down we were given an assortment of 3 salsas which were delicious but there was a marked absence of tortilla chips. We even tried to scope out the menu to see if we could buy some but didn't find anything - only later into our meal did we see other people having chips and wish we knew how they scored them.
Ordered the Frozen Margaritas - and while these drinks were strong I wish they were a little weaker and 2 or 3 times the size (I guess living in States previously has of ruined me)! They were nicely rimmed with salt.
We also started with the Tuna tostadas which were small - but really well loaded up with plenty of flavourful fresh tuna and guacamole.
Next I tried 3 tacos - The signature El Pastor which was amazing with lots of rich flavours and pineapple, the chorizo with potato which was just ok and finally the pastor de pescado a fish taco that was very good. I thought the same thing about the tacos - I wish they were bigger, perhaps bigger corn tortillas than the 7 cm diameter range would be enough.
My husband had the gringa quesadilla which had the excellent pork meat but it looked like and open face tortilla (not the quesadillas that I know) that was maybe 1/3 of the size of a normal quesadilla. He also had the grilled corn which was very good but also small.
I finished my meal off with some Mezcal - they have quite the impressive menu.
Overall great flavours but still felt a little hungry when I left which I don't normally do after Mexican food.
P. S.
Took me right back to Mexico. Delicious delicious tacos - when we got to the pastor it got emotional. Did I mention the Pibil?? - and ice cold Mexican beer. Throw in knowledgable, brilliant, front of house team, what more could you ask for?
N. O.
Real mexican food, real Mexican beer (Pacifico) Great place to share some very spicy and tasty tostados the portions are ample but very tasty.
The staff is really friendly and all speak Spanish with a big smile. This place has a real feel of mexico 🇲🇽 even the toilets have Mexican detail memorabilia pasted on the walls.
If your visiting borough market you have to eat here.
Great value for money.
J. C. V.
Good service, great food. Tasty, just the right amount of spice, and reasonable prices.
We've tried many tacos in London and ended up coming here multiple times (too many times, maybe) and each time we've left satisfied. The space is nice and always bustling. Sitting at the bar and ordering Carnitas for 2 (huge, don't underestimate it) is one of our favorite things to do.
Top of the list for tacos in London 🌮
s. f.
This is some of the best Mexican food I ever eaten. Really friendly staff, vibrant bouncy flavours. Mezcal menu looked great shame it was too early to get on it. Coming back.
K. S.
The food is really good. Super flavorful and great portions for sharing. Atmosphere is welcoming and service was adequate.
V. M.
Having booked for my fiance's birthday in January, and it subsequently getting COVID-cancelled, finally got to go (only a 6 month belated present!) and can I just say, the wait was worth it! The food was absolutely incredible (we had the crab, chicken and pork tacos); full of flavour and not too much (or too little!). The margaritas were divine! The servers are friendly and attentive. This place is absolutely worth a visit, and we will certainly be returning!
C. d. L.
Have to admit to being a little disappointed with the pastor tacos here. Would still take the 20p tacos behind the bus station in Guadalajara over these, though they were nice enough. Place was very busy on the Friday night that we went and as a result service was below par, took over twenty minutes for us to manage to get the bill and pay (after asking several times).
J. G.
Wow - what a tremendous and authentic Mexican culinary experience. The food was incredibly fresh and frankly out of this world. The atmosphere was buzzing on the Friday night we visited, cocktails were flowing (I recommend the Negroni and frozen margherita) and the service was excellent. They don't take reservations here, but they will hold your place in the queue and cleverly let you know when it's your turn, thereby enabling you to sample some more of the Borough Market atmosphere. Would highly recommend this for mates, dates or any occasion.
A. R.
Banging food, great decor, music and all round vibe. The pastor taco and the short rib sharing plate (with free refills of tortillas) were particular highlight!
S. S.
Tapas style food. The selection of salsas is interesting and very different from usual salsas. The service is super quick and the place is open till late in the night. We didn't try the cocktails but I like that they have bite sized food as it'll go well with the drinks. Thought it was a bit pricey, considering the portions but otherwise I'm definitely tempted to try this place again.
Recommended: the chicken tinga, especially if you like spicy food. Super flavourful!
M. J.
We had a amazing time at El Pastor. Been to Mexico once, however, the food here is better than a lot of the meals we had during or stay in Mexico. Thanks to Miriam who gave us excellent service with a constant smile!
S. B.
Tacos and pork pibil were amazing. Really good guac and food comes incredibly fast.
Margaritas are quite pricey for the size you get and are not very strong.
D. L.
Really tasty Mexican food with really yummy taco options. Service is quick, the approach to Mexican food seems more authentic than most restaurants in London and the general ambiance has a great vibe, however do note that the taco sizes are smaller than you would expect. While the price for 2 tacos is a steal, you'll likely want to order at least 4 if you have a normal apetite-- so the price for a meal is likely to benchmark around the ££ mark.
H. S.
No reservations, but they'll put you on a waitlist so you can amble off and have a drink while you're waiting, and they'll text when ready. Not a huge menu, but great food and friendly service. Very easy to spend lots here, as the dishes are quite small.
M. B.
Food was of a high quality. A little over priced due to the location and the service was total chaos, at least 6 times dishes were brought to our table in error and missing dishes had to be reordered. Shown are the tuna sesame tostado at £10.50 delicious but tiny
K. A.
I'd heard a lot about El Pastor and even seen it featured on the Michelin guide for London. Borough market had also received a lot of praise, but I found it slightly touristy and heavy in style but not necessarily substance.
El Pastor had a similar vibe to Borough Market, and the interior was very vibe-y. Me and a friend ordered the namesake al pastor and two coronas. The tacos were very good with homemade tortillas, a crisp and flavourful meat and fresh toppings. I had a good experience but felt like the price was exorbitant for the food. Two tacos and a corona came out at 23 pounds which is a very high amount for what we ordered, and a proper meal of tacos would have been close to 50 pounds which is way too much, even for very good tacos.
M.
Excellent experience. The food was lovely, margaritas were punchy and the service was exemplary!
N. A.
In months of travel through Europe I've searched in vain for really good Mexican cusine. El Pastor satisfied my needs after a long search! Their items are simple but fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Though the price is a bit steep for small portions, I simply reminded myself that this is London and that good Mexican food in this part of the world is hard to come by. The shrimp tacos with a touch of chili and lime are a delight, as are the "Choripapa" tacos, a blend of chorizo and potatoes. Even the cilanto is delicately minced and dry but fresh. The little touches are just right. The beans with jalepeño, smoked pork and smoked chorizo was a perfect side. My next visit to London will include this place and I will try the cocktails before anything else!
K. D.
We came on a thursday, around 6:30. It was fairly busy but there were seats so we didn't have to wait. These were some of the better tacos that I've had in London. They are small put pack alot of flavour and taste great. We got a few to share (pescada, prawns and chicken) and one of quesadillas (butternut squash). All very vesty with the lime and coriander combo and their morito salsa. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
M. R.
Great place to eat. Let's off small bits to share. Be prepared to wait if you've not booked, however fortunately it's conveniently located between two pubs so filling this time is easy. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, but avoid the cheaper whites! Some outdoor seating is available all year round. Location close to Borough Market and London Bridge Station is fantastic.
B. D.
Myriam was an excellent host, and Ana was an awesome waitress. The food and service was exceptional. Pop there, and if you can’t get a table straight away, pop to one of the many bars in the area whilst you await your table back at the restaurant. Well worth a visit.
p.
Beautiful design place with good but not super wow tacos. They are good but on the pricey side, £30 a head for tacos and a corona is a bit to much, even in London. Quality was good, service okay.
M. H.
Came out for opening night tonight, wow, seriously impressed! Hands down the best Mexican experience I've had in London. The signature Taco El Pastor is unparalleled. Absolutely perfect with grilled pineapple and chiccarones. Hand made margaritas, ridiculously hot piña habanero salsa, and great service. Coming back tomorrow.
M. D.
Enjoyed the food but they were a little hectic on a Monday night and it resulted in waiting a long time for dessert despite asking repeatedly.
However, they did remove the dish from the bill.

The chicken tinga and the tacos are great!! Very kind staff. Bad side the food is a bit overpriced.
C. M.
Amazing atmosphere and food!! We had dinner in Al Pastor on a Friday night, we had to sit inside because the al fresco area was full but our waiter from Alicante make us feel really at home. I’d recommended the tuna tostadas. Delicious! 💕
M. K.
Decent food, but very small portions and way overpriced. Simply not worth it.
D. G.
My favourite place in London to have the best taco's ever. Staff are great, very friendly! Always busy but they are quick and you get what you pay for. Well worth it every time! It's a close to TJ tacos you can get! Yummy!!!
S. M.
Great tacos if you're in the area. Make sure to order 4-5 tacos and share as two come per dish. The guacamole serving is also extremely generous, so make sure to heap onto your tortilla chip!
p.
Food is tasty but the portions are very small for the price you pay! It’s located in borough market so you’ve got the buzz of everyone around, you are only allowed the table for 1.5h which is a shame as you often feel quite rushed. The margaritas are also really good and they have a good choice of tequila and mescal
B. L.
Phenomenal Mexican food delivered to your door. Highly recommended. The margaritas are a treat!
A. C.
Super-tasty Mexican ingredients wrapped in warm home made tortillas! Sparkling authentic atmosphere and great cocktails.
N. M.
Our waiting time is about 30mins for group of three on Tuesday. The food is alright, well cooked. I strongly recommend the mushroom tortillas, that is truly delicious!
C. T.
Portion Sizes are slightly small, but great food and drinks none the less! Staff are very friendly and helpful.
A. A.
Nice setting in Borough market with outside tables available. Staff is nice. Food wasn't exceptional but maybe was just our choice of plates.
K. S.
Best Mexican food I've had in London but doesn't quite measure up to the real stuff!
S. H.
Delicious tacos, cool place and friendly service. Portions are tiny and nearly £6 for a bottle of beer had me reeling though! Appreciate rents around there must be staggering though...
V. M.
Hands down best tacos in London. The tuna tostada, pastor pescado taco and gringa quesadilla are always a favorite. Margaritas and mezcalitas too!
A. S.
Delicious flavours but the servings are too small for the price. To really enjoy the meal between two people I would suggest ordering 4 orders of tacos (each order is 2 small tacos?) and at least 3 starters.
J. A. M.
Best Tacos Al Pastor in London, thought last time were a bit salty. It gets a little crowded at lunch time. Most of the staff speak Spanish
R. D.
Good place, good vibe evening time, get early because always packed. Tacos are quite regular nothing relevant indeed a bit short and the tortillas are not the best that I have tasted in London. But carnitas are very tasty, recommended. Staff very nice, attentive and friendly.
P. H.
Absolutely incredible food and flavours! Reasonably priced so you can eat your way through a good chunk of the menu. A few disappointing issues with the service such as having to wait at the bar for fellow diner to arrive, but the bar stools were full so I was just stood there, despite 80% of the tables being empty. And second, one of our dishes was forgotten, then when it arrived it was the wrong one. And the pork scratchings meant to be served with the guac came right at the end of the meal. Overall though really enjoyed the meal and will be returning!
E.
Excellent taco place in London! As a Mexican I can assure you that this is one of the most authentic flavour you can get in London. Service us good and friendly, the only problem is you can't book but you can put your name in a waiting list and then go somewhere else for a drink, they call you once your table is ready. Worth going in groups of four or more to enjoy many dishes.
c. s.
Amazing food. The only negative would be it’s so darn crowded. Otherwise a great place to eat!
V. B.
Authentic Mexican flavors. The Oaxaca cheese tastes just like in Mexico!! The Pastor tacos are just the best I've had... And I'm Mexican :)
N. S.
Great guacamole, nice scratchings and an overall good set of tapas (the garlic prawn tacos were quite good). Service was ok and it was slightly cramped, but an overall good experience.
I. P.
Best Mexican in London. People can complain about service, prices, and portions, and these are all fair, but I'm here for the food, and the short rib and guac make up for it all. The prawn and el pastor tacos are solid as well, and the decor/ambience is reasonably authentic.
I can live with some of the tacos being a little less exciting than others, but the one thing I would fix to cement this place as a classic would be this: the beer needs to be colder.
J. B.
Stunning food as always. Nice staff and they've clearly out some proper thought into Coviid safety which was nice to see.
Try one of the big sharer cuts of meat if you're on a group. The beef short ribs comes with a stunning flavoured salt/sugar seasoning. And I've been a while ago when we had the pork too.
i. M.
I was craving for Tacos al pastor and this place has the Mexican taste! Cons: you have to order separately spice sauces, it only includes one tortilla per taco. If you go there, go for Tacos al pastor!! Just the best!!!
G. W.
Some of the best Tacos we’ve had this side of the Atlantic. Legit corn tortillas, great salsa, cochinita pibil, beef, guac, lovely people and craft beers. Go!
S. B.
The vegetarian options, while somewhat limited, are actually very tasty! Wonderful textures and unique flavors make this one of my favorite taco/tapas places in the area.
N. M.
Great place for dinner. Was there on a busy Friday night and I didn't have a reservation. Only had to wait for 20 minutes and had a table, great food and super quick service. Loved the frozen margaritas, they were on the small side so something to keep in mind. The place is buzzing but not too loud so you can still have a conversation
K. K.
Delicious food and good value. The atmosphere was fun and service attentive. The portions are quite small though so make sure to order enough different items. No bookings but we showed up at 6pm on a Saturday evening and it was no trouble getting a seat.
N. S.
Mexican 'tapas' in the heart of Borough Market, warm friendly service and great option, including vegetarian options. Myst try one or two of the mezcal!
O. U.
We had the guacamole with chicharrones, the tacos al pastor, the quesadillas sincronizadas and the chicken tacos. Everything tasted amazing and the servers were nice and welcoming.
S. M.
Great service and lovely ambience. Hands down the best tacos I've tasted outside of Mexico!! This was my second visit and I'll definitely be back soon. I'd recommend the Chicken Tinga Tostada, Pastor Tacos, Baja Tacos and Mushroom Tacos
J. K.
Delicious, we sat outside under cover from the rain and enjoyed everything we ordered especially the cheesey corn side dish!!!
K. R.
The staff are absolutely lovely and the frozen margaritas are great but the menu is a bit of a let down. It’s small and a little on the limited side if you’re gluten free. The food itself was ok but not spectacular. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and buzz about it though.
E. J.
Such a great place, bang in the middle of Borough Market. Tacos are really tasty, especially the “el pastor”. Service was really quick and good selection of drinks. Really cool setting. A tad pricey for what you get but worth it.
A. A.
Really like this place. We were a group of 8 visiting quite late and they were very accommodating. Customer service was excellent and enjoyed the banter. Food was also very tasty!
B. M.
Good food, happy staff, tapas size portions, reasonably priced, good fun place!!
M. G.
Got the Mexican feast at home kit last night. Minor delivery issues (which were handled really well by EL-P) but the food itself was stunning. Huge portions, easy directions, potent margaritas. Try the short rib. You won't regret it.
J. C.
Lively mex cafe in Borough market
My sophisticated grandson loved the crab taco ( claws and all ) food fab - service kind and friendly - absolutely rammed with people - some going all out and some regulars nipping in for small snacks ! Highly recommend trying !
A. M. P.
Very good Mexican food. Quite legit, I felt as if I were back in Mexico City!
The corn cake is superb.
Only bad thing is that there are not many vegetarian options.
B. J.
The staff at the top made it a bit too clear we had 2 hours and we were out of the door. The food was distinctly average. The cocktails were on point.
d. 2.
Plain, simple food full of flavour at a reasonable price.
B. M.
As a Mexican I REALLY miss tacos. Going to London and eat real tacos al pastor 'en trompo' is like a gift of life haha. Of course it's not Mexico but it's really close :) Carnitas are also good.
El 'agua de piña ' (pineapple flavored water) is the one I tried and I don't know what that was... not what we have in Mexico at all but maybe you can try the others.
Based on the size of portions it is a bit expensive but taste is good.
S. T.
Great food and efficient service. Nice place to go as a big group of friends (as we were) or as a couple. The food and atmosphere reminded me of my visit to Playa del Carmen, Mexico so - for me - it's a tick for authenticity. Would recommend.
J. B.
Really tasty tacos and great location with tables outside. The pork tacos and the mushroom tacos are a must try. As the tortillas and tacos and made using cornflour, the majority of the menu is gluten-free
M. R.
Nice place, good food, but portions are extremely small, especially for their prices. Staff is nice and friendly, but waiting 2 hours to get a micro portion of food, it's not worth it. Won't go back.
M. P.
The Contramar seabream flakes melt in your mouth. Just delicious! To be shared with other fish fans.
Т. Х.
Tasty soft tacos and energetic atmosphere. Nothing incredible but really good tacos and quick service.
A. L.
I only came for drinks (mezcal) and the starter of guac and corn chips (too hard, flavourless). A bit pricey for the portions and considering I saw what my friends were having... did not feel like I was missing out! However love the location and the interior design.
T. H.
Food was delicious and margaritas are excellent. It has a cosy atmosphere inside. Miriam on the door was very friendly and helpful too!
S. B.
Service is fast. We tried a couple of different tacos and while taco Pastor was great the rest of food was blunt. Guacamole was really bad: the avocado was not ripe enough and it felt like the chef was trying to hide it by overusing lime. I would not return to this place as it is overpriced for the quality of food it serves.
M. C.
The service was good and most of the food tasty. The gringa quesadilla wasn't good, not a real quesadilla or gringa. I also don't understand why the meat is different from the pastor tacos. The pastor tacos are good, but the meat in the gringa quesadilla not great.
F. A.
Estrella is the star of this place. If you lose Estrella, El pastor is just a random Mexican restaurant.
E. G.
Amazing time here. Up there with the best casual mexicans of london. Top fod and top drinks. Staff didn't put a foot wrong on a busy sat
O. E.
The best thing here is their amazing food. They also have a nice outdoor space, the team are really kind and attentive.
They even check your temperature on the door but unfortunately: not all waiters are wearing a face covering!
We were told it was left to their own personal choice, which was a bit scary to hear especially as all our food/drinks were brought by all those not wearing one..🤔
D.
Stopped for light lunch and had tacos and side delicious food worth a visit.
T. M.
Giving this a four star purely for the portion sizes. Otherwise it was great!
Fab tasting food, with fresh flavoursome ingredients and it arrived quickly.
I spent £20, had one frozen marguerite and a soft shell crab taco; the tacos are really small (about 3 inches). I did ask the waiter if this would be big enough, to which he was quite vague. Was sadly still hungry when I left.
e. v.
5-star for London dining.
If you want flavor you will find it here! Warning the diablo sauce really earns its name!
The carnitas dishes to share are great!
b.
Probably the best Mexican restaurant in the country.
Faultless, amazing, amazing, place amazing service
c. d.
Great tacos and great service!
C. I.
Amazing food and really attentive staff!
A. S.
Good tacos but super expensive for what you get. Service is a little hit and miss too.
S. R.
Great food great atmosphere. Will definitely come back with some friends.
H. W.
My new favourite Taqueria in London. Try the tacos al pastor with a few micheladas.
A. M.
Had a table outside and we have been here a few times as it's really not your average Mexican. Staff were great and seated us very quickly. Salsa's are freshly made and can pack a punch. Tacos are lovely we had the pork and chicken. The star of the show is the short rib, great for 2 the rib just melts in your mouth, truly wonderful. This place never disappoints.
N. V.
Delicious - try the corn cake and ice cream!
S. G.
Despite Mexican being one of the world’s great cuisines it’s one of London’s weakest. Pastor Tacos does nothing to change that.
If you like your -
Service poor
Guac watery
Tacos dry
Drinks pretty good
Location great
This is the place for you
No harm in calling in once. Just baffling that nearly everyone in London is doing one of the world’s great dining experiences so badly. Sort it out
L.
Really loved the hibiscus and honeydew margarita. The baja tacos and crab tacos were excellent. Would definitely visit again.
G. B.
Good service, but food is lacking.
Guacamole was good but not great and comes with just a small bowl of tortilla chips. Salsa that was sold as spicy was anything but. Not even close to Tabasco level, so I have no idea what spicy means to them. Would recommend trying very spicy to see where that gets you. Tacos are very small for £7-9 per two and don't fill you up at all. Margarita was a bit weird. I would think the classic drink would be a safe choice, but had a weird twist on it that wasn't very good.
I wasn't a fan of the food, but the service is very good. Quick, friendly, and there when you need them.
G. B.
Fairly underwhelming after the reviews and recommendations I had been given. The tacos were ordinary and overpriced for the size and quality. You would need to order perhaps four or five plates per person for a proper feed, which starts to get in into seriously expensive meal territory.
The place could do with a front door, as its very cold and drafty, especially in colder months.
Overall, fairly disappointed and won't go back.
b. p.
Great tasting food but the portion size is tiny for the price. Great flavour just could do with double the amount of food.
E. E.
As a Mexican, I can easily say that this food is the most authentic I have ever tried in the UK. Highly recommended!
T. N.
Can you find good Mexican food in the heart London? Apparently yes you can!
A. K.
Nice place but a bit crowded. Food good but small portions even for tapas.
D. C.
Good Food but the welcome is very fast paced London - slow down team and smile
L. O.
I have been to El Pastor a few times and each time just gets better and better. From the very moment you walk in and are greeted by Myriam on the door, who always has a smile for you and is polite and helpful, you know you are going to have a great experience. Then the guys behind the bar make delicious margaritas and the service and food are superb. It is the best Mexican food in London. I love the place.
D. J.
Fabulous wait staff. We had the shared plate of pork. The house made tortillas were delicious. We can't wait to go back!
S.
Interesting Mexican place, offers a good range of tacos. Some are good (mushroom and baja), some are so so(pork). Portions are small and overall on the pricy side. Ok to try for once but lacks the wow effect.
B. W.
Excellent customer service, food and drinks.
Strongly recommend visiting.
D. M.
We had fantastic food, marvelous drinks and perfect service. The people working were happy and friendly and they had great recomendation with the menu!!! We will be back again and again.
M. S.
Great service, amazing food. Good drinks.
M. N.
Great food, superb drinks, amazing staff! Thanks for fantastic night!
a. h.
Excellent food, fab atmosphere, great service. Very expensive though....and portions are tiny...
S. P.
Not your run of the mill Mexican food, but was really delish. I only had the veggies dishes and enjoyed them all!
L. F.
Food is amazing, the crab tacos were a highlight for me.
Service was quick and helpful.
J. &. D. B. F.
Delicious food! Great guacamole and salsa selection. The Al Pastor taco is hands down the best thing on the menu.
The portions are small so just do a double order right away or know that you are adding a couple of sides. Food quality is worth the price as a treat for great Mexican.
The waitress warned us about the El Diablo hot sauce. Only eat the tiniest amount if you want to try it! Don't be stupid. She was right.
a. f.
Great tacos! Finally found my go to for mexican food. Our waiter was super helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere.
S. D.
Great spicy tacos with a selection of salsas which will leave your mouth tingling, top it off with a couple of mezcals and you have the start to a crazy evening.
M. M.
No reservations however it is worth waiting. Delicious food, nice and really fast service
K. M.
Well well well. I have been meaning to come here for ages and it was definitely an experience... the attention from the chefs team and Guisepe (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was brilliant and also adhered to my friends requirements with no fuss. Thank you team El Pastor ❤ (p.s. Spare Ribs to share are to die for)
T.
Overall a good experience.
We ordered just about every salsa they had and tried them all. None of the "Hot" ones had much kick at all. The "Wild" one definitely did but only the kind that stays for a while, not as deadly as it sounds by any means, but all had great flavors. I'd say just going for the fresh salsa without any kick was the one I ate the most of and that's coming from someone who likes to eat the hottest stuff on the menu anywhere. It just didnt have enough of a full-bodied taste to make you wanna keep eating it. It either had spice or sweetness or some kind of flavor but never a mix of the three in one salsa.
We ordered nearly every kind of taco. You get 2 portions of whatever flavor you choose and they are quite small so you might as well order two more if you want a full meal. I personally tried the chicken tacos. Absolutely amazing and the best part of the meal. They really nailed the nice char-grilled flavor on the chicken. The pork was okay but that could just be my preference on how that one turned out.
Service was okay and atmosphere was very tight and enclosed spacing. At some points our service was a hit or miss but they maintained composure even when mistakes were made so I appreciate that they just owned up to it and resolved it right away.
Great to try at least once. Central london prices in full effect so if you dont have too much extra spend keep aware.
S. H.
Pretty good menu and service. We liked all the dishes we ordered but the portions are quite small for the price.
J. D.
Excellent spot for a quick business lunch or dinner out. They have a wide range of taco and other selections to choose from... When I eat here with friends, everyone has a different favorite. If you show up for dinner, there could be a wait... But they are great about texting you when your table is ready and there are several good pubs directly next door to grab a drink while waiting.
H. A.
Amazing tacos. Diablo salsa was delicious.
K. P.
Amazing flavours, service and atmosphere.
If you like Wahaca, you'll love this place, the food and mezcal was to die for!
C. M.
If I can give this place 6 stars I would. The food was amazing and staff knew their stuff.
E. A.
I felt I was in Mexico City! Tacos al Pastor the way they should be made. All food is excellent, authentic Mexican street food. Portions are tiny (just as in Mexico) so make sure you order enough. Corn Cake is fantastic. It gets quite full, some patience is required but the staff is great.
D.
Love the atmosphere and the food was amazing! A bit spicy, but a good cold beer is the perfect remedy ;)
G.
Ridiculous food. Tasty mescal. Great staff. Enrique and Izzy smashed it. Will be back ASAP.
Z. P.
Very tasty! Probably the best Mexican in London.
J. B.
Unreal tacos and Tostadas
Staff were absolutely amazing aswell
S. P.
Loved this place, we had to wait a little while but grabbed a drink next door before we were messaged to say our table was ready. Staff are very friendly and always at hand. The food is amazing, taco's are so tasty as was all the food we tried especially the guacamole that was so good!! Cocktails were great, always refreshing to have a frozen margarita!
M. A.
Great tacos, fast service. Our server was very polite but obviously new to the job and this impacted our meal due to the interruptions.
P. G.
Brilliant for food, even better for drinks. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and frozen margaritas that will make your day significantly better.
Expect a queue to get in but worth the wait.
Very good selection of mescal on the menu too. Small plates ideal for sharing and price is on point. Will be coming back.
K. M.
Went for lunch on a Sunday with 2 friends. The food tasted good and arrived quickly. However it was too expensive for the experience. One starter, two taco dishes (of two tacos each) and one scoop of cream came to nearly £30, after taking into account the 12.5% service charge which was added to the bill, a well as a donation to charity, also added onto our bill. After we paid, the waitress returned to tell us that there was £0.08 remaining to pay. I think considering the charity donation and 12.5% service charge that had been added on to the bill, this was unnecessary and left us with a negative impression of the place.
L. D.
5-star for the staff - they are really lovely. 4-star overall, though. Good food, above average margarita, but somehow I expected more. Maybe it's because I'm so desperate for good Mexican food joint in London - we're just not quite there yet.
N. N.
A delight even for a vegetarian! Their guacamole is super fresh. Their tacos are very authentic and delicious.
M. W.
Amazing food and fantastic atmosphere, I can't wait to go back 😁
B. d. A. P.
Best Mexican in town and the nicest people attending. Thanks for helping me to surprise my son with his favourite food while he's at the hospital.
S. T.
As a half Mexican who regularly visits his homeland to gorge on delicious Mexican food I have to say the food was fantastic. Truly truly delivers on flavour in a refined, yet authentic way.
My only minor criticisms are that the prices are a little on the high side, although arguably worth it. I ordered two orderes of tacos and a side esquite, soft drink (more on this later), and a scoop of amazing ice-cream and this came to about £26. Although the food was great this was hardly a large dinner.
On the drinks, the cocktails looked great and usual coronas available. I ordered a traditional Mexican soft drink which is like a home made squash. Unfortunately, the glass was tiny and filled with ice so that after 3 gulps the glass was empty and I felt a little hard done by!
The homemade ice creams are out of this world. I had a delicious rich spicy chocolate scoop and my companion had a flavour called "roasted corn" which was strange but really really tasty.
All in all I would highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty experience, however, of you are planning a meal with people who tend to scrutinise pricing then they might not be the right guests to take.
8/10 from me!
Buen provecho!
T. B.
Really enjoyed lunch here

Best Mexican in London. People can complain about service, prices, and portions, and these are all fair, but I'm here for the food, and the short rib and guac make up for it all. The prawn and el pastor tacos are solid as well, and the …

Peng, get the breakfast margarita. It's what Paddington would do.
H. M.
Amazing food&drinks, try the crab tacos and the mezcaleria
A. O.
Had a lovely evening, margaritas =5*****
A. B.
Very nice place, I have eat a fantastic fresh tuna tortilla
D. C.
Delicious food although came out a bit too quickly
n. T.
Staff were lovely , venue was ok .
Food was ok , portions were small and I feel a bit over priced
S. M.
Great food in this always bustling restaurant
R. G.
Maybe the best margarita I’ve had in London, amazing food, great selection and perfect service even on a busy night
J. A.
I went in with high expectations, and I was completely blown away.
The food was truly divine with by far the bets tacos and tostadas I've ever had. Everything was gorgeous, and would highly recommend the chipotle salsa.
The staff were very helpful and the decor is really very cool
S. W.
Overhyped and overpriced. Curiosity got me over the high prices but the taste of the Al pastor won’t have me return. Besides the obvious places like Mexico or Texas, I’ve even had better tacos in Dublin. It seems like there isn’t a good taqueria in London. Service is inattentive.
A. T.
Food was amazing and loved the atmosphere of sitting outside but under the railway line.
T. M.
Menu was very varied and we had a lot to choose from. Service was friendly and quick.
Food itself was great, very fresh and tasty.
However, and this is the only reason it's not getting a 5 stars, the portions were absolutely tiny! I know it was a 'small plates' place (which generally I like) but this was beyond a joke, really need to either drop the prices or increase portion size.
L. M.
It's got a nice atmosphere, the tacos are nice, and I like that you can order one of each to try as many as possible. Guacamole was excellent. That said, the tacos are nice without being mind-blowing, they all just lacked a bit of something extra. And there are still a few teething problems in service. 3 stars may be tough - I toyed with 4, but ultimately it's probably not a trip I'd bother with again.
O. M.
The food is nice but the portions sizes are a joke and it is not cheap. I went in a group of 3 and we got food to share and some drinks. I had 2 beers and my accomplices had 2 cocktails . Paid £60 each and left hungry. Tasty but expensive.
M. F.
Great tasting tacos, good service, nice atmosphere. Tacos are really small, but prices are not, so expect to spend a lot of money here. One slightly hungry person will need at least 3 pairs of tacos, and each pair costs at least 6.50 GBP. Expect to spend over 30 GBP per person.
A. R.
Tasty tacos. Great wine selection - both the cheapest red and white were really tasty. Service was good for the most part but I did order a taco and had to ask for it again after waiting for 40 mins. By that time I didn't really want it but they hustled and got it for me. We were also a bit disappointed and annoyed by the manager kicking us out at 10 because apparently there was a line up out the door - not that we saw one when we left! I felt like that was a bit rude and unnecessary as we would have happily kept ordering drinks.
J.
Definitely some of the best Mexican food in London. Tasty grilled corn, delicious mushroom tacos, very nice butternut squash quesadilla (though next time I would go for plain cheese), and fantastic burnt cajeta ice cream to finish. I also had a great cocktail, and though it all added up price wise it was a very filling and enjoyable meal. The environment is great with cool decor and attentive staff. My only criticism is the music is very loud and it's hard to have conversation over the noise. Bear in mind they don't take reservations and all members of your party need to be present before you'll be seated.
R. K.
Food nice but nothing spectacular. Desserts in particular are awful, they appear to be basic shop bought desserts jazzed up a bit.
Long wait times which is what makes it not worth it in my eyes. The food isn't good enough to wait for 1.5 hours.
Small portions for reasonable prices. Would be nice for a quick lunch more so than a nice dinner.
Service ok but not very warm.
H. P.
The fact that my Mexican friend has recommended El Pastor to me already assured me that I wouldn't be disappointed... We absolutely amazing experience and tasted all the variations of their tacos, my favourite ones were in the blue tortillas and I recommend also to try little sweet treat - the Bounty bar at the end. Service was friendly, prompt and funny. Definitely will be back here soon...Thank you!
R. G.
So we were "lucky" and managed go at time that we could take the "uncomfortable seats" they use for walk-ins at the entrance. That's what they described them as, and one side of the table is more of a perching point than a chair. The wait if we didn't take this was an hour.
The food was average at best. Some good flavours, but also some dull ones. The menu was not varied enough and was too small. Portions are small. The food was overpriced for what it is and felt more like a snack than a meal despite ordering 5 plates between two.
The only saving grace - the service. The staff are quick, attentive and lovely and not too in your face. Shame that's not the main reason I go to a restaurant though! Easily beaten by other well known mexican chains.
M.
Great cocktails, nice atmosphere, full to capacity but still not overcrowded as managed really well. Also loved the blue wheat tortillas used for the quesadilla. Would recommend.
P. P.
We don’t like queues! Been wanting to come for ages. So went early this evening and got a table immediately. Didn’t realise how much bigger it is than it appears from the street. Really friendly welcome, and were informed that we had 1.45 hours at the table, which was fine. The food is great and I would recommend the smokey negroni cocktail too. Then order some tostados and quesadillas. You can order more stuff later so it all doesn’t come at once. You can hot it up with sauces if you like.
B. L. J.
Had a quick lunch here today.
The food is very tasteful. We had the guacamole with tortilla chips - really good texture and taste.
The Taco Al Pastor and Chicken were up next, both with the really nice tastes and flavours of Mexico - coriander, cumin, taquero sauce and umami. On the side we had corn on the cob which had the best sauce on it.
All in all - go to Tacos El Pastor if you fancy a nice, tasteful and fairly cheap meal for lunch.
M. A. J.
Delicious food; attentive, fast, and friendly service. Strongly recommend that you buy your beer "michelada"!
K. F.
Excellent! We loved this restaurant so much we returned. The second time was even better than the first! Great atmosphere and deliciously authentic Mexican food. Everything is made super fresh and you can taste the freshness in the food. We tried a few tacos all were delicious! my favourite was the Al Pastor taco and the tuna tostada. Be sure to get there early to put your name down on the waiting list. Definetly worth the wait! Would definetly return. A must try in London A++
J. G.
Nice food but small dishes not many veggie options and quite expensive
A. D.
By far the best tacos in London! Come here early as it fills up fast! The El Pastor taco is the best of the menu and does not disappoint! Loved trying a variety of authentic freash salsas too! Would recommend for sure!
H. S.
Fab food, really authentic menu with lots of different tastes. Great for couples who want to share a few tapas style plates.
Only downside is the place is small so the tables are crammed in but you can see this before they seat you so you can't really complain about something they're honest about
M. B.
We came here for a boozy lunch with work, unfortunately they don’t take bookings so you have to wait if it’s busy (although there’s a pub next door and they’ll call you when your table is ready) and it was well worth the wait.
Food was amazing, cocktails were delicious and the staff were attentive but not too over the top. Not too expensive, but the plates could sometimes be a bit small. All in all it was a fantastic experience and the food was the highlight - will definitely be coming back here again!
S. B.
Nice atmosphere, friendly stuff, good food options (I tried tapas but mains looked interesting too) and drinks options. Service is very quick, but it was difficult to secure a table without a booking (on a Wednesday 6pm). There is a chance of a long queue on any weekday.
R. B.
First off, anyone who gives this place one star is likely certifiably damaged. However, so too would be anyone giving it five.
The tacos are indeed very good. Not embellished, fancy or oversized. Rather they are traditional, home-made and well done. Proper margaritas and salsas too. Best tortillas anywhere in London, they must be house made.
That said, a meal (two rounds of drinks and some tacos) that cost the misses and me £80 here would have cost us about $35 back home in the States, where people would laugh at the notion of simple cuisine like this commanding such a premium. Sadly, most of London is $h!t at making tacos, so the Hart brothers have found a niche here.
The service is average. We saw them sit a table of off-duty employees on a Friday night when there was a queue, and all the servers were coming over and chatting and flirting, to the chagrin of eager customers.
El Pastor is pretty good. But, on the whole, a forgettable experience. Solid three stars.
T. T.
Excellent food as always. Smaller portions allow you to have a taste of everything at the table. My personal favorite are the El Pastor tacos and the Gringa quesadillia. There's even new vegetarian options!
J. C.
Absolutely delicious. Great Margaritas
G. W.
The only line of this you need to read: get the mushroom tacos. Places are rammed for a reason and the ingredients and care in the food are divine, although prices are steep for little portions. I don't know anything about authenticity in Mexican cuisine but this is how everyone should want to do their tortillas, sauces and guac. The only downside is the haste over taste. I arrived at 5:30 and was kindly advised to sit at the bar to wait for my friend so as not to eat into the stringent time allowance. I thought this was strange as the place was empty but come 6pm it was heaving and prospective guests clamoured outside in the cold. There's the definite objective in the servers' actions: TURNOVER. Everything is whisked away so quickly and they hover to pressure you to finish. Come here for a quick, happy stuff of your face but not for a relaxed group gathering where you're hoping to be left to eat in peace 😊
R. B.
Friend and I popped by on a Thursday evening after seeing the reviews and there was a long queue just to get our name on a 1hr 45min long waiting list! We were fortunate enough to get a table outside and although it was cold outside, the food was excellent and arrived promptly. Came to around £20pp which was pretty good but not sure I'd have had the patience to wait in such a queue since I was pretty hungry at the time... Will definitely try and come back during a less busy time.
R. J.
Service was good but the price is expensive for the amount of food you get.
S. Z.
I eat here all the time, the food is good and service is great. I see no reason why they don’t have Tacos Carne Asada, hence the 4 stars. Wait, it’s £1.50 for a tiny side of hot salsa sauce? More like solid 3 stars.
H. J.
Very hip and stylish atmosphere but packed tables made you not moving well. Food is little bit over priced I think. They tasted alright tho. It was a bit busy time, and it was pretty hard to call any servers around us to order more food. They never came back to us.
A. B.
Service was a bit slow and portion sizes quite small
S. S.
Very tasty. Need 2 dishes and a starter for lunch each so it isn't exactly low cost. Was about £18 pp not including any drinks. But very popular so is doing something right. Would go back again when feeling well off.

I was surprised to have tasty mexican-styled food in London. This place was fun for me and the missy on our last day in town. The tacos were delicious, as we had a variety of them. While I enjoyed the meal, I will say it was a tad bit pricy for the portions.
D. B.
It is difficult to not be overly critical bc of my Mexican heritage but I'm keeping in mind that it is a challenge for restaurants in the UK to access some of the authentic ingredients, etc. Here goes...
The atmosphere was lively and the service was great. As other reviewers have noted, the salsa is a disappointingly small portion though the chips were flavorful. For the sides, the frijoles charros were close to authentic and had a lot of flavor. The corn was really good! For the tacos, my favorite were the chicken and al pastor. Shrimp didn't have much flavor. I'm confused as to why all the tacos had guac/avo - def not authentic and not always needed when you have such great flavors. My biggest peeve was that I asked if the choripapa tacos used Mexican chorizo - server said yes but when I received them, it was unmistakably Spanish chorizo. It's not an issue here that restaurants use this chorizo bc of it's availability but staff should be aware bc I wouldn't have ordered it.
Overall, the restaurant is great for a taco fix and I would recommend it!

Super fun limited edition margarita recipes
O. O.
Don't get me wrong, the food here is good. But the staff walk around like they know it, and they cooked it. Tiny margaritas in small water glasses are overpriced and underwhelming. Kind of misses the point with tacos. Good tacos are cheap and fun. Something they are missing.
R. A.
The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are super friendly, but I think it stops about there.
After waiting for 2.5 hours for a table, and finally picking some food from the great sounding menu, it turned up...And it was, well, meh. Nothing really stuck out as really tasty or good, and I even go as far as saying some of the things are better in some chain restaurants. Small portions, over priced and....well just not as good as the hype around it. Shame as it has a lot of potential.
A. K.
These guys are amazing. It was an unfortunate start when twice my colleagues and I went to have lunch and the row of restaurants had a power cut so we weren't able to get hot food. The second time was my birthday (they even reserved us a table despite not usually offering this service) so the staff felt awful and were VERY apologetic and offered me a free meal if I returned.
Today was that day. My friends laughed at how I was treated like a celebrity, the staff thanked me for returning and we placed our orders. The food was delicious! The portions are tapas so you order a few alongside tequila (for those complaining in the last two reviews... the sizes and prices are pretty standard in London). We were sat at the sharing table with 3 gentlemen who I presume are the owners/managers. They kindly gave us a free round of smokey mezcal! That was an experience!
I cannot express enough how much effort everyone made and how incredibly friendly the staff are. Thank you for the best customer service, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My friends say thanks for the mezcal and sorry they had to shot it and run!
J. T.
For a London Mexican restaurant, El Pastor was pretty good. The food was delivered quickly and the staff was friendly. The tacos were tasty and the habanero salsa was spicy and flavorful. Open late.
S. A.
If this were just about the tacos, I'd give five stars. The food tastes great. However, the service is...chaotic? bizarre? We got one dish within about 15 minutes of ordering -- then the rest of the order was either messed up or didn't arrive. There appear to be lots of staff, but they tend to congregate near the register instead of checking on tables -- which would have helped us avoid waiting an hour for the rest of our food. Table next to us had same problem. Hope they'll sort out the kinks because this type of taco joint is exactly what London needs.
E.
Unfortunately timing may be everything here, as we arrived just 15 minutes before 3pm, when this restaurant in the heart of london bridge shuts down for 2 hours before dinner service.
Though no fault too great to forgive, service had a sense of closing: the huddle of five or six servers chatting for a few minutes after we had sat down, until we were able to flag one's attention. Being asked if we wanted any other food for last orders, before our food arrived. A michelada served as just the mixer, and having to ask for the accompanying beer. A handful of not- so- fresh tortilla chips, far outweighed dispoportionately by the guac.
Flavours were there, though i felt the sense of wanting more. Take the namesake al pastor tacos: the marinated pork, pineapple, and salsa, all there, but almost in a compulsory manner. Al pastor tacos varieties come in the thousands, each with their own "secret", and these, while perfectly tasty, were pretty OK.
Not sure if I'd be back when my next taco craving hits, but again, timing may be everything here, so perhaps in the middle of dinner service could be their sweet spot? Remains to be seen.
P. L.
Great food, awful service. We waited 15 minutes to place our order, 25 minutes to get the food, and another 20 minutes between getting the bill and getting a card machine. I've been here a few times now and once I had to get up and go to the bar to pay because all the serving staff were ignoring me.
Such a shame, because the food is excellent. Try the sesame tuna tostadas, my favourite.
D. A. d. T.
Fabulous tacos and margaritas. If you want to try something new then get the beers mixed with the Mexican spices - a truly amazing combination and something I wasn't expecting. Their sea bass ceviche and fish tacos are to die for.
J. R.
Good but nothing special - with the exception of the carnitas.
Nothing particularly screams 'great value' in this restaurant - £6 bottles of beer, £8 for a couple of small tacos, £10 shots of meszcal - but there are occasional signs that El Pastor can live up to its aspirations. Beer can come with a very Mexican salt rim and lime, the variety of salsas are inventive and excellent, and ... the carnitas are simply excellent: pleasingly presented with pickled jalapeños & onions, crackling, and excellent salsa, and a generous number of tortillas, and the pork meat is wobblingly tender, beautifully savory, and completely addictive. The quesadillas also show you what Mexican food can be about: beautiful and crisp blue corn tortillas, stringy, powerful cheese, and a bbq-chilli salsa - exceptional.
The signature tacos el pastor are slightly disappointing, the fish tacos needed something to give it real zing, and the cocktail menu was to my mind slightly uninspired (did I miss a cocktail with mezcal or had no one think to utilize the smokey, smooth, fragrant spirit for something exciting?).
The service was also innatentive and slightly forced.
I wouldn't queue, but if you're in the area and you a grab a table you can do a lot worse - and the carnitas would themselves almost justify the visit. Ultimately, I think one is better served in London for tacos, specifically at Corazon in Soho.
S. C.
Possibly the best tacos in london! Fast friendly service. Chicken tacos with a side of pinto beans and chorizo. Wow! Quality of meat, cooking and marinade on the chicken was epic. Cant wait to go back to try more.
N. H.
Enjoyed my visit very much. Fun interior, pleasant staff, and the food was tasty. Would definitely return.
H. M.
A cool buzzy place just off borough market. Really tasty tacos, and a they do a fab mezcal negroni. Best part for me were the salsa's, they really take any dish to the next level. Great flavours. Only slight down side is the price and portion sizes. Had a great time but left hungry after ordering 6 tacos between 2 of us. We ended up going across the road for some burgers after.
G. M.
It is always an amazing surprise when as a Mexican you find a place abroad that comes this close to the real thing. Staff is as warm and friendly as they are back home and the food is absolutely fantastic! Who wouldn't love a carnitas taco in a proper maiz tortilla!!?
P. W.
On visiting borough market and friend and I noticed this funky looking tack joint. The interior is quite industrial and the place has a good feel to it. Although the tacos are quite small most of the flavours work well and the prices are quite reasonable. Go for dish; the short rib and bone marrow tacos
M.
*see edit below if you love prawns*. I come here regularly with my friend of over 20 years to catch up. We love it. Fantastic flavours, delicious cocktails. Try the blue corn tortillas, particularly the unbelievable prawn tacos and plain quesadilla with speciality Oaxaca cheese.
*edit. They’ve changed the prawns to different ones. Do not order the prawns until further notice. They are sad and pale 😢*
S. H.
As always, el pastor delivered an amazing meal. It seems like the quality has gone down somewhat since it opened, likely due to a push for volume and fast turnover, but the service is considerate and it remains among the best options for Mexican food in the UK, to my knowledge.
T. A.
Prepare to wait a while, but worth it. Awesome tacos. Limited menu but makes trying everything even easier and better. No reservations, staff can be a little swamped but remain smily and friendly. Vibe good and not hectic considering tiny space. I should mention those guys (chefs and staff) helped take in and protect locals in the grusome London bridge attack July 2017. One even fought back one of the attackers with a chair to save a woman. That alone gives them a special place in the heart of Londoners and a bonus five star!
D. M.
The food is as close to real traditional Mexican food as you can get in London; the chef is Mexican and you can really tell by the food.
The service is also great with very friendly staff.
Food can fell a little expensive for portion size but the taste and service makes it worth it.
J. P.
I eat a lot of Mexican food and recently did a decent stint in Mexico City, so while I can't claim to any knowledge of authenticity I did come here with high expectations. I thought the food was great, the tuna tostadas had a generous amount of fish, the sauces were good, butternut squash quesidella was the right texture, el pastor itself was tasty, meat was well flavoured and I prefer the pineapple caramelized (tho I miss watching someone chop it off and flick it about with a big knife). Mescal selection seemed good to a novice like me. Only sticking point was the price. A decent amount of food (we doubled up on the tostadas which were the most expensive thing), two beers, margaritas and a couple of rounds of mescal came to well over a hundred quid. We decided we were ok with that (service was also good), but if part of the authenticity of Mexican food is its low price you'll be disappointed. Overall I would say it's worth the money, but is maybe a better place for small groups rather than tonnes of people (which is unintuitive for Mexican food).
C. T.
I was going to give four stars because I think the cocktails are on the cusp, but the food was just too good. Excellent fresh and exciting flavours. Coming from America where we get a lot of Mexican food, this place is great.
J. G.
Had a good evening. Enjoyed the food, very similar to most boutique mexican places. Service, whilst very friendly, was a little slow. House tequila was very nice and generous 35ml portions. Good decor, loud music.
D. L.
It is a superb restaurant. Ideally, arrive and go for a beer locally as there is always a wait and rightly so. The atmosphere is lively and the food is fantastic. Always got for the pulled beef as it's so so tasty. One of my favourite places to eat in London Bridge
M. Z.
Food was great, portions were small but known to be for fine dining like this place is supposed to be. I'd recommend it to anybody interested in Mexican food with love and passion on every dish.
D. V.
My favourite restaurant in London. Best to share plates - some corn chips and dip, then some tacos with wine. They do not take bookings you’ll have to go early and get your name on the list and they’ll text you when table ready.
A. B.
Very nice place, I have eat a fantastic fresh tuna tortilla
D. A.
Although it is quite expensive, I would certainly recommend this place if you want to have high quality Mexican food, I loved their tacos el pastor and their quesadilla 'gringa'. Portions are small but delicious. Cocktails are quite good as well. The beer selection is not impressive: Pacifico, Corona and a Mexican golden ale which was not available at the time. I would definitely recommend this with 5 stars if it were just a tad cheaper, but given the prime location and the quality of the food its still absolutely worth its value.
S. G.
I have been on the lookout for a new taco place after my favourite closed down, and these guys are pretty good. Per order you get two small tacos, so I would say get 3 orders between 2 people plus guacamole and chips.
n. T.
Staff were lovely , venue was ok .
Food was ok , portions were small and I feel a bit over priced
G. S.
Had such a great meal here! Super busy to get in but didn't have to queue as I could use the walk in app to join from the office. Would highly recommend the prawn tacos and can say no to frozen margaritas?
A. S.
Great place for good tacos, probably amongst the best in London. The place doesn’t take reservations but they have a smart queuing system which sends an sms when your table’s ready.
Recommend the margaritas, quesadillas and obviously tacos (carnitas, fish) — weirdly enough they were out of al pastor. Guess we’ll have to revisit!
E. M.
My first visit was in April 2018. Since then I’m there every time I’m in London. So far about 8! Never misses a beat! As a mexican living in Zurich it’s difficult to find good/real Mexican food in Europe. El Pastor is my go-to place to feel at home. The mushroom quesadillas, guacamole (real!), salsas, aguachile, barbacoa, margaritas... in fact - I’m on my way now! I love it!
m. 9.
Lovely place, friendly staff and awesome margaritas! Foods good! I gave 4 stars as its a bit pricey for the portions you get but lovely atmosphere and a nice place.
A. A.
Food was great? Fresh food and the staff were friendly. Great mexican experience
f. o.
Rushed service and keen to turn the table. We obliged. Margarita is ok. Food was mediocre.
J. K.
Tasty tacos. But disappointingly, no hot sauce with them. No sauce at all.
S.
Great Mexican fresh food, tiny sizes though, so great for a nibble but if you're hungry order lots and lots otherwise you won't be full. It all adds up though so not a cheap eat place.
C. C.
Delicious food, FANTASTIC staff ( please, Hart brothers take care of them) but too expensive. We ended up paying £100 for some tacos, 2 shoots of velvety and smokey Mezcal and 2 Pacifico beers. I am sad that I won't be able to afford these tacos every week.
C. S.
Enter the dim lighting and cocktail bar feel to this joint to experienxe really great Mexican Food (not TexMex!). To my mind they could be slightly stronger on the veggie options (hence the lost star); having said that the sweet-corn, with its sprinkling of Oaxacan cheese, is the highlight of the entire menu. The fish tacos are also excellent, as are the mushroom and cheese ones; the squash quesadillas?... not so much thanks. There is also a wide selection of Mescal and Tequila. The staff are always warm and friendly to a fault. No wonder it is almost always full and hard to get a seat. One further highlight for me is the hand washing basins in the restaurant itself. I wish more restaurants had these.

I’m originally from Mexico, gotta say the tacos pastor where awesome, will definitely be back for more before my trip back home.
I. Q.
I cried tears of joy while my dining partner left a puddle of drool on the floor. The food is amazing. It's a revelation and very well-made.
Be prepared to pay a hefty bill for a satiating meal but it is definitely worth it.
S. M.
AMAZING food. one of the best guacamoles I've ever had, and the tuna tostada, my god! the fattiness was needed to balance the fish taco - even having some tolerance to spice, it packs some real heat! I was taken aback by it.
The tacos are a bit on the small side, but I think that's the original size, and the Al pastor one is missimg something.
Have to go back to take pics ;)
E. C.
Delicious tacos and cocktails. Service is slightly too fast but all waiters extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again.
I. R.
I'd heard such great things about El Pastor and came away feeling a little disappointed. The food was tasty, not mind blowing, but expensive for what it was. The dessert was also decent, again, nothing to rave about. Sadly I probably won't come back again for the food - the staff were super nice though!
J. M.
Good Mexican place with a fun vibe. Great service
J. B.
Loved this place. It's not cheap and I agree with the comment that the portions are small but it's delicious!! I met the owner who also talked me through the menu, the inspiration and how they source the corn from sustainable farms in Mexico. So authentic and ethical. I'm a fan.
J. L.
Very cute ambience and extremely crowded. We got the last table by the reception and they were turning people away a lot!!! I ordered the seabass ceviche and that was the best I ever had! My BF got the plain quesadilla and it was very plain! LoL. On the whole.... Great food and experience.
K. D.
Cool and inspiring environment that brings Mexico to the heart of London. Noticed some amount of delays and confusion between floor staff and kitchen which caused several of our dishes to be delayed and our pulled pork to arrive uncooked. Great margaritas.
B.
I just had the el pastor tacos. They were solid if a bit pricey. I asked for lime and took off the pineapple. Morita salsa was good but odd to me to charge for salsa.
J. P.
Could quite confidently say this place bridges the gap between fine dining and street food , Mexican tapas style full of delicious 2 bite pp sharers fresh cocktails and funky vibes tucked into the edge of borough market. Fair warning it gets busy but my God is it worth the wait for the sesame tuna tostadas
M. M.
I've been a couple of times now, and I;m convinced it's overhyped. The tacos are just tacos: they're not bad, they're not world changing either, Most food trucks would produce the same. And they're SO WET - expect to have meat juice running down your forearms for most of the night. It's OK, just not great.
N. F.
Opens at 6. Arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday night and was front of the queue. Margaritas were good but not mind blowing. Same for the tacos actually. The guac was very good though.
T. W.
Amazing food. Get the short rib to share! Only downside is that it doesn’t take reservations and the wait can get long at certain times (however you can leave your number and grab a drink in the surrounding bars during the wait)
J. C.
Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. £35 a-head for plenty of lovely food and a cocktail each.
A. B.
Amazing food, honestly the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. Not the cheapest though, but I would say the quality is indeed by far the best I've seen. I highly recommend it!
M. E.
Delicious, fast and friendly service. Try the corn cake
C.
The best of the best Mexican food in London. To top it off the service was unbelievable - thank you!
S. S.
This place is just okay. If i had my time again I certainly wouldn't wait an hour for a table like we did. The food is okay, the service is okay, the drinks are okay. There is much better Mexican in London where you don't have to wait for a table!
B. S.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Can't fault anything! The tacos are amazing, my favourite were the El Pastor tacos, though the prawn tacos were really fresh.
H. I.
It is located next to borough market. I loved this place...Great atmosphere, friendly staff.
A. D.
The food is great but portions are small and definitely not filling. when the bill arrived, we almost cried .
N. S.
Delicious food. Fresh and flavorful. 👍🏽
S. W.
Food was very good but the service was not great. Despite eating in an empty restaurant, we were told a time-limit before we sat down. All our food arrived at the same time, starters and main, and they forgot to bring us a dish that we ordered. Disinterested staff let this place down.
S. N.
The food was sooo delicious and service was really great. Best Mexican food I’ve had in London - definitely recommend :) the El Pastor tacos and the chocolate pot were particular highlights!
R. G.
Maybe the best margarita I’ve had in London, amazing food, great selection and perfect service even on a busy night
J. C.
Best place for tacos I've found so far in London, hands down. Never been less than excellent when I've eaten here. Really nice space and location, too.
M. J.
Good range of tacos etc. Be aware that they do charge around £6 for 2 small tacos portions. We ended up paying £50 for 3 of us just for lunch including drinks.
d. s.
Tasty food, but small portions and poor labelling for vegetarians (no 'V' indication visible on menu, some ingredients e.g. pork scratchings listed under unfamiliar Spanish name).
If you approach this as a bar with incredible snacks you're much less likely to be disappointed than if you go expecting a filing meal.
I.
Decent but not cheap for the tiny portions you get.
W. B.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in London, unfortunately reservation is necessary unless you're okay with a long wait. Tuna tostada makes it worth it.
A. C.
Lovely food,drinks and service
M. L.
Really interesting place and food. Ask the amazing staff for advice, menu range from good to great and they know the best bits. Reasonable prices, 2 course, 2 people, a few drinks, £60 including 12.5% tip.
E. C.
Honest Mexican tacos and few other options, good margaritas and busy vibe. We arrived without reservation and the staff did their best to find us a table as quick as possible.
M. K.
Some of the best Mexican in London. The al pastor itself is great. If you love pork this is the place for you (although I’m sure there’s some good veg options as well...)
C. N.
Not quite Mexican food it was more of Mexican inspired Mexican dishes, the flavor was good, but missing that unique Mexican flavor, in the attempt to give it a gourmet felling.
Overall it was a a good experience for the price.
J. C.
The food here was out of this world. We had a work dinner at El Pastor, and it was amazing. The food was all gorgeous, I'm usually quite picky with Mexican, but I ate everything. It was damn good!
E. H.
Very odd seating, one side of the table had a leaning post /perch rather than a chair. Nice food but small portions, we ordered three mains between two and ended up ordering the same amount again.
A. K.
Short Rib was super tasty, can't say for much else.
J. O.
Delicious tacos, tostadas and aguas frescas (soft drinks) and a very interesting corn cake with corn flavoured ice cream for dessert. Some of the staff were a little unfriendly but others make very kind and helpful suggestions.
n. m.
All round great customer service even at peak times
E.
I've been here during lunch hour. Despite the place being busy we didn't wait much for the food. The food was excellent and so was the service. The only small inconvient.. the portions are very small! Rather than that, great place.
A. L.
Authentic and tasty Mexican food just off Borough Market. They serve micheladas too! Great friendly service and good value for money.
R. H.
My new favourite restaurant in London. Great selection and big portions if you get the Sharing plates. Large range of salsa too.
