This place is great, I remember this has been here under the same management since the very early 80's. Still going string and doing great fish and chips.

Go her all the time but last night chips were manky And soggy! Plus fish had too much batter on the ends and didn’t seem like a late cod to what I normally get! Not impressed as the there food is normally spot on. Plus bloke was touching the saveloy with his hand. Will still go as nice people and food generally nice but not last night. There a guy who’s normally works there and I notice when he’s there food is quality?? 🤷‍♂️

Have used this place for over 25 years. Great establishment, with wonderful fish and chips. Mother Hubbard opened couple of doors away, not in the same class as Ercan!

Been going there since I was a little girl and most West Ham games before GSB destroyed our old ground but thankfully we still have our beautiful old school West Ham Chippy. Gorgeous food, cooked fresh and tastes amazing. I now have family dinner with my own family every friday without fail, my husband goes down to get our dinner and takes the kids to see all the West Ham pictures the owners have had up in there for years including our England heroes of 1966. We choose to eat at home as we are a big family of hungry teens but you can actually dine in there and also order online for delivery! They have everything you expect on the menu, even down to scampi, burgers to onion rings. Great range of hot and cold drinks and condiments. Ercans is spotless and the owners are extremely friendly and polite and serve generous portions, it's always open and always busy which is a good sign and shows just how great our little chippy is and how amazing their food is! I could only get 2 pictures of the menu online but it goes from one end of the shop to the other with a choice of beautiful food. We actually can't wait til Friday evenings knowing we are going to get our family meal at a great affordable price.....we even sometimes get it during the week as a little treat, my kids are teenagers but come home and still get excited like little kids when we say we're getting chippy from Ercans.

The staff is very welcoming and the service is great. My personal favourite is the lahmacun or otherwise known as turkish pizza. The only item I would rate them down on is their chips. Its too crispy and oily for me but I will be back for more lahmacun!

This used to be the de facto West Ham supporters fish and chip shop on match days, with queues snaking around the block. A shame for them when the Hammers moved to Stratford. And now, an even bigger shame they have direct competition from Mother Hubbard's a few doors down. Staff are friendly, chips nice and chunky, but the fish was HUGH which is nice bonus. You get massive portions here even if the price is somewhat high. This is pure traditional fish and chips and well worth a visit.

I stopped here for a no nonsense coffee and a quiet sit down to gather my thoughts but I was delighted to see the interior of this chippy probably hasn't changed since the 70s. Check the tiles, it's almost a museum! I cant vouch for the food because it's not my sort of thing but the coffee is ok and I was clearly charmed by the decor.

The Fish and Chips here are Fantastic. Always fresh and always hot. There are other places I can go to, to get fish and chips, that is closer to me, but I always come here as the quality of the food and service is excellent. I would highly recommend this place.

Top quality chips, best in East London. Been going here for many years, it's an institution in area. Family run, the chips are always fresh cut and fried. Wait a few minutes for the chips to cool if they are fresh out of the fryer and they are gorgeous.

Having seen this place for many years going home from work I decided il try it for lunch and what a great choice i made! Ordered a large cod with chips and my cod the fish was more then a large size more like extra large and chips was a small portion but seemed like a large. Amazing fish cooked fresh they said they make the large fish fresh when asked for and the owners are very nice and friendly people would will always come back

The food wasn't that amazing for me. I ordered the Cod and chips with a chilli sauce. I didn't really enjoy the chilli sauce and the fish and chips weren't anything wow. But they have a huge variety to choose from and I did enjoy the meal

Exceptional! I never leave reviews but I had to. The chips and chicken weren't super greasy at all. Simply fresh and delicious and packaged well for delivery. I was very impressed! My first time and I will keep coming back to the shop and also for delivery. Made my day! If you have ubereats they are doing free delivery for Ercan fish bar until 22nd July so grab while you can!

Best fish and chips in east london (Newham), always make fresh fish that taste really good not too oily and it’s crispy batter. Curry sauce is the best so far I had!!! Not like the rest of the chip shops that uses curry powder yaak, the they give a lot of chips that you won’t be able to finish it 😋... It’s also 100% halal and value for money. Definitely will be going there again 🙂🙃🙂

Great fish and chip shop but has been here as long as Nathan's pie and mash shop which is a few doors along this is one of the Betta fish and chip shops in the Newham area also though a range of other foods kebabs burgers etc it has had a refurbishment over the past few years so is looking a lot better

Very nice clean place. Their food is yummy and their portion aizes are very generous. I only wish they served doner kebab in here as its so odd not having kebabs from a chip shop. Otherwise the two old boys that own it arw super friendly and make you feel very welcomed there. And its cheap as chips :-)
