Reviews of Ffiona's
M. G.
The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the visit. The chicken is definitely the best in the world. Fiona herself is a character! Super personable. She alone makes the visit worth every penny.
B. S.
Wonderful little restaurant. Felt like family. The food was amazing. The roast beef was tender and so tasty. The apple crisp was a real highlight. Got to see some fresh pheasants dropped off too.
R. S.
This is a great little spot with a cozy atmosphere by candle light. I had the apple and blueberry crumble of the day with honeycomb ice cream and a cappuccino. Absolutely divine! I also had a chance to chat with Fiona for a little and she is such a kind person! Will definitely be back. A must spot in Kensington!

High Recommended!!
Small Cosy and I suggest you book!!
Food is beautiful.
Proper and fresh orange 🍊 juice. Thanks for that.
Fresh fruit bowl totally appropriate to finish our breakfast.
Service is High Standard. Fiona is an extraordinary person and a businesswoman!!
We were totally impressed by her hosting skills. Amazing!!!
It was the first in England I have been hosted by someone with the right enthusiasm. Wonderful.
Definitely return!!! Soon.

Staff was very kind, attentive and food was quick, appreciated that!
However would not recommend for brunch.
Atmosphere was pretty hectic, with several tables jammed into a small place with poor ventilation and lighting so not a relaxing environment. Went on a Sunday around 2pm so perhaps as crowded as it gets which didn’t help but on the bright side impressive that service was as good.
Had the special of poached eggs with homemade beetroot hummus and avocado on toast. Unfortunately the toast was dry and while the eggs were ok the combination did not work well or had anything memorable about it. Also had the pancakes which were soft and better than the eggs but overall thought food was very overpriced for what it was.
The roast did look great though and perhaps ought to give it a try for that.

If you want a great English breakfast, look no further. Ffiona's is a cozy little spot with great food and great service. I'd highly recommend.

We loved Fiona's character and "power".
The brunch is really good and the service as well.
Cozy and warm, it makes you feel embraced by a sort of family environment.
I will be back for sure.

Amazing place, very nice and cozy, and the staff where truly amazing, and fiona i guess, they where so welcoming and full of energy, making it a happy place!
The food as well was really good, we had the full english breakfast and the french toast which was on another level, i thank them for recommending the french toast, will visit again for sure!!!

Outstanding sumptuous home-cooking without all the effort!
We have been having take-away once a week from Ffiona's . Each time the food is more delicious. The portions are hearty and absolutely delicious. There is old-fashioned wholesomeness in this food and one can feel it is prepared with love and care. The excellent quality of the ingredients used means the food is bursting with flavour.
My otherwise fussy children were so eager to "dig-in" they didn't give me time to take good photos!
I can't wait for the restaurant to open so we can sit in for a meal.

Visited Ffiona's for brunch on sunday, good variety on the menu, staff incredibly welcoming and accommodating, food cooked fresh and well, high quality produce used. Relaxed atmosphere, great little find. Will be back next time we are in Kensington, thank you

Came on a Saturday for brunch, left waiting in the doorway for a good 5 minutes while staff seemed to decide what to do. Service was extremely slow throughout the whole meal (did end up
getting our coffees taken off the bill at the end without us asking as an apology for the slow service which did make up for it a bit). Told we couldnt swap the chips for hash browns on the full english, despite them both being £3.50 as an add on. Had to ask for butter to put in the toast as it came dry & we were issued with a very small amount. Cooked breakfast was nice enough but not worth £14. Restaurant itself was cosy and I did appreciate the wait staff recognising the slow service.
M.
Outstanding homely restaurant which has a personal feel. The food is absolutely excellent, and the service is very personal. Highly recommend the chicken Kiev and fish pie. Everything on the menu is homemade and you can really tell - the sides change depending what is fresh for the day. Deserts are gorgeous - sticky toffee pudding is divine as is the apple crumble. Would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

Great little place. Went for brunch on Sunday and they fitted us in despite no booking (due to no shows!). Lots of choice, service super friendly with a locals / homely atmosphere. Not cheap once you include the service charge but it's Kensington/Notting Hill and the food is very tasty with good portions, so worth it. Quick Service but didn't feel at all rushed. Would recommend if you are in the area.
C. P.
Best breakfast I had in London, host was talkative and seems to have a lot of local and return customers. Food was simple in a great way and also very delicious. Came out quickly also. Would recommend anyone looking for a great place to have breakfast to try here, been here for many years.

This is a place to fall in love with. The food is great, the service is warmth and friendly and Ffiona is extremely charming. Ffiona"s is the ultimate denial of that lasting myth that you can"t eat well in the UK.
B. O.
Friendly place with great, high quality, home-cooked food. If you get brunch, highly recommend the French toast and sweet potato scramble. Dinner options are also wonderful and they also have an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.
D. G.
I simply love this place. We found that place from google when searching for a late brunch place that serves traditional english breakfast in London. The second I saw the name of the place, I imagined that a person called "Fiona" is running this place:) And yes there she was: Fiona welcomed us on a Sunday 2pm'ish eventhough we didnt had a reservation. It is very recommended that you make a reservation because it is indeed very popular place. therefore could be crowded.
So Fiona was very nice and we were lucky and after only 10minutes of waiting, she made us a table for 2 :)
We took the traditional english breakfast, pancakes and the bloody mary! It was simply awesome. The eggs were poached like a dream and we had a wonderful experience with the traditional english breakfast. I even liked the black pudding, it was very smooth...
Plus I also recommend you to follow Fionas advise before ordering. Just tell her what you are up to and take the advise :) She really knows her stuff :)
The place is simply awesome. If you are uncomfortable with small places then make a reservation in good time to get the table next to the window.
I am so happy that we found this non-mainstream-family feel like traditional cafe-restaurant while we were in London.
It gave me the feeling like when I was watching the 90's series called "Northern Exposure", you know the local cafe in town...That is Ffiona's :)
L. L.
Welcomed with such warmth & natural charm by FFiona herself, who is perfectly suited to running this treasure of a restaurant. Local In Kensington & very English. Oh & PS Awesome food & delicious wine!
D. S.
Great food, lovely relaxed ambience. Whenever you go inside you really get a sense that everyone is really enjoying themselves. One of my faves.
M. A.
Delicious Chicken Kiev, Very Friendly and Welcoming.
T. L.
Great local food and the menu changes everyday which I find amazing. Fiona is very personable with her customers and will sit down with you. This place is great!

Best English Breakfast I ate in London .
Good and friendly service. You definitely would love to go back to this place. Should book a table in advance because it’s always overcrowded
N. B.
Great Atmosphere and not forgetting the wonderful food. Make sure if you are in Kensington go there you wont be disappointed. But i advise booking a table
J. S.
Small and cosy, this is a nice little eatery. I think they had an off day when we visited as the service was a little lost, but the food more than made up for it.
Really nice cooked, eggs were perfect, bacon and sausage really good quanlity and the chips spot on. Would definitely go again.
H. J.
Lovely little cosy brunch stop. The staff are super friendly although very busy at weekends which means they have to get assertive to get stuff done, so please don't hold it against them! Once seated and being served they are perfect hosts and the food comes quickly. It's worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment but you may need to turn up in person first to get their calling card!
A. S.
Lovely place and good food. However, very slow service, especially when asking for the bill. Need to invest in a Point of Sale (POS) System.
c.
Food : english breakfast was amazing with black pudding. Portion was big for me. But quality of the food was fantastic
Service : attentive, friendly, efficient, professional.
A. C.
Such delicious brunch! Line was out the door when we got there but well worth the wait. Make sure to reserve a table in advance on a Saturday and Sunday. Service was both kind and impeccable. Thank you Ffiona!
K. O.
Make a reservation and GO! So tasty and delicious! Cozy and fun -a real neighborhood place! Worth every penny and pound!
G. K.
Lovely 20+ year old Kensington institution serving traditional British breakfasts and lunches, plus healthy dishes for those looking for something a bit more modern. Friendly staff and Fiona is there almost everyday.
e. r.
Recently had breakfast here with my wife and 2 children. When we arrived we were greeted with a big smile and made to feel to very welcome and the food was fantastic. My daughter has some allergies and they couldn't have been more accomodating. We will definitly be returning next time we are in london.
O. M.
Fantastic food and excellent friendly and fast service. Full English breakfast was spot on, proper good sausage! great bacon, crispy but not dry or too salty. Proper juicy big tomatoes. Very very good tasting black pudding, not dry! Great toast, great eggs, great mushrooms. One of the best full English’s I’ve had in England for years!
Y. X.
One of neighborhood’s favorites for brunch and dinner. Always fully packed - suggest to make a reservation beforehand
F. G.
Great brunch. Traditional English fare with pancakes, French toast, fish and chips for lunch. Slightly pricey, always full
A. A.
Great brunch experience I ordered the Benedict of the day it was vegetarian and yummy dont miss the pancakes and French toast and ffiona is a great hostess 💖
E. C.
FFiona's is open and serving the same amazing food as always. We have eaten there several times since the loosening of Covid lock-down restrictions, and experienced the same welcoming environment and delicious food that Ffiona's has offered for many years.
As with many small businesses in these difficult times, Ffiona's needs our support. Please, get out and support this London legend early and often.
A. W.
I've been to Fiona's several times over the last couple of years. I keep going back because of the great menu and the lovely personality of the owner. Tonight's meal was very good - the chicken Kiev was moist and full of taste. And Fiona's personal touches while visiting with her guests adds a nice cap to a very enjoyable experience.
P. K.
Super place to have a relaxed meal. Good range of dishes on offer together with a varied drinks list. Two courses and a bottle of wine £60 a head (with tip).
S. A.
Had supper last night at Ffiona's and it was fantastic. The food is delicious and the atmosphere just perfect. Her Thanksgiving dinners are legendary so this year, we will be ordering it as take-out due to the restrictions 😷.
R. B.
Really friendly restaurant with excellent staff
Food was really good would return again without doubt
M. R.
Ffiona's is consistently delicious, with a friendly and personal atmosphere. We love it!
G. C. G.
Excellent home made food and Fiona it’s so nice highly recommended we will be back on our next visit to London for sure!!! :-)
Y. M.
A nice cozy restaurant with warm and friendly staff. Delicious and modern menu, yet very comforting.
B. C.
The first thing that strikes you about Ffiona's when you walk in is its very homey feel. It feels like a complete world away from the hustle and bustle of Church St just outside. A small point, but I really liked the solid wood tables, did not budge at all (my pet peeve in restaurants is tables that are uneven and wobble!). We came for brunch and had the Queen Scramble and the Veg Soup of the day special which came with smashed avocado on toast. Both were super tasty (mine was slightly small -or perhaps I was too hungry!) and the coffee was good too. Very quick service and the waitress was efficient and friendly. Because it's quite cosy the turnover is fairly high, so not really a place to linger after you've finished. I would say a tad pricey altogether, but then this is Kensington so not too bad in context. Would recommend.
R. C.
This place has a real local reputation, especially for its brunch and rightly so. It's quite small and the decor is simple but it's particularly friendly and welcoming with quick service and the food is fabulous. I had the best French toast I've ever had and the coffee was immaculate. The child next to me said his food was "scrumptious" and so was mine. Everyone there seemed to be a friend of Ffiona and the prices are as fair as you will ever find on the area. It was full when I was there, as it deserves to be; it's the sort of friendly, family-oriented place which enhances every neighbourhood which is lucky to such a place.
D. H.
Very good dishes, cozy ambiance, a bit on the pricey side
V. N.
Absolutely magnificent!!! I had the chicken pie with a great red wine (no idea what was the wine, but we had 3 bottles of it).
Even the bread was amazing!!!
I will highly recommend Ffiona's. Definitely going back there next time I am in London.
J. N.
This restaurant was amazing! How often does the owner/namesake of an establishment sit down with you, discuss the menu and drink options, then take your order? We were celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday, and she even had a special cake prepared for him! To be fair, he's a longtime regular, but for us traveling in from the US, it was a marvelous gesture. Menu items can sellout, so I'd suggest reserving as early as possible to guarantee all options are available. But I don't think she could make a shoe taste bad, so you won't be disappointed with anything on the menu. The lamb and chicken Kiev were a hit! It's small and intimate so book in advance!
M. N.
Very good place for lunch or brunch. Personally I like the decoration of the place, I don't know how to describe it but it took my attention all the sheet music on the ceiling. Good quality of food. The only thing I thought it was excessive in price is they charged 5 pounds for the extra smoke salmon for my dish...
J. O.
Very friendly place. Food was delicious and good portions. Very nice brunch
M. I.
It doesn’t tick all the boxes but overall we had a good time there. The owner lady was quite present in the room, she does put an effort to make sure it’s all good but a bit too confident everything will be perfect. Never take food for granted and just because you’ve done it well so far it doesn’t mean you can’t go wrong.
The Benedict’s were quite good but not the best, very boring plate. You expect such a small place to be very attentive with every single dish. They don’t have many tables so there is time. The hand cut chips were not good, soft and mushy. The drinks were great though. I got the feeling it can be very unpredictable in terms of quality. I might be wrong but for the price you pay you don’t want it to be unpredictable.
T. K.
Popped in without reservations. Accommodated but was appraised that reservations were soon approaching for our table. The party never showed. We were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of champagne. Very intimate atmosphere. Menu eclectic. We are foodies from Charleston SC, USA. Highly recommended.
L. s.
Amazing home cooked food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Lovely host and will definitely be returning. I'm a key worker and was made to feel very welcome. Thank you Ffiona you made our night
J. S.
Visited twice on a recent trip to London. Had dinner then brunch. Would compare this to having your family feed you a really good meal if your family happened to be a chef. Saw some reviews that something about the location looking a little old and presentation not being pristine and would say that’s not the point. Come to Fiona’s if you want a really good meal in an atmosphere that makes you feel like home. If that’s what you want then this is the place for you.
D. P.
Food and coffee were really lovely. The hash was super tasty and the full English had everything you could want. When we initially arrived there was some confusion seemingly around people coming and going and we did not get our order taken for quite a while. Other than that, lovely little place and worth a visit!
A. B.
One of our favorite meals of our recent trip to London.
From the moment we walked in we felt like we were at a friends house
for dinner. Outstanding food. We had the Lamb and Fish and chips.
Both were some of the best ever. Ffiona the owner was present and
really made a great effort to make our evening memorable. Also our server
a young lady from Portugal (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was great.
I can see why shes been in business for 25 years. Great job !!
A. A.
Ffiona's has been one of the most unforgettable restaurants I've visited in London. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel like they are welcoming an old friend. The food is always so good and the place is just gorgeous. I cant recommend it enough and its a must go to if you are in London.
L. G.
We were a party of 14, we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and got great service. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for Ffiona as she brought up various lovely dishes at random times when some of our party arrived late. This is a small venue where the value is in the quality of the food and the service, not inexpensive but definitely not pricey! I noticed a number of intimate corners there that were being looked after just as well as us!
B. S.
I came here for brunch with my sister today after visiting the Natural History Museum and we both loved it! The food was top notch (I had the sweet potato and chorizo hash and she had the pancakes), the staff were super friendly and down to earth, and the restaurant itself was cosy and inviting. It was such a nice change to find a brunch spot that felt so authentic and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
T. P.
OMG! This is greatest place we've eaten at in a long time. The owner is so nice and the food is amazing. If you're in the Kensington area, you have to stop in and visit. I had the Chicken Kiev, and it was so, so good. Mouth watering is how I would describe it. I promise, you'll love it.
V. J.
A must go for brunch! It has a lovely homey vibe, definitely British and traditional, as well as special dishes. The owner is around running the business so you know things are going to be well done. Recommended to book in advance (email them, they'll come back for sure) - and do ask for that day's special
L. L.
Hearty British food served with love. Have been going for the past decade. Ffiona is a formidable, friendly and passionate woman who pours her heart into the food and service. A personal, unique experience.
A. B.
Some of the best pancakes in town and waffles with bacon are also delicious. Probably one of my favorite family style brunch places in Kensington. Very homey. Call to make sure they can squeeze you in! Fiona is very funny and charming, quite witty so get ready to see some bubbly personality coming your way! Love it or hate it. I love it.
S. K.
Great little cozy place for brunch. Website claims to be the best brunch in London. (No!!! Definitely not.) Service is great!!! Server is pleasant & offers recommemdations & checks on you constantly. Despite that their website says brunch on Fri-Sun, it is only Sat-Sun.
Now down to the food. I had the Full English brunch & the mrs had the Queen's Brunch. Both came with burnt toast, already points deducted. I ordered a cappuccino, & to my surprise, waiter added sugar on top without asking. I would have preferred sugar on the side or at least asking. So another point taken off. Chips & black pudding are excellent! Bacon is too salty for my taste buds!!! But despite all this, we enjoyed ourselves & had a good time. I probably would give them a 3.5 instead of 4 if I can.
R. N.
A charming place. It is both great for a quick coffee break or for a nice and tasty lunch. This place definitely has an atmosphere- the classic wooden tables and lots of flowers give it a very homey and warm feel. And the food! The pancakes are just divine and you can add bacon or fruits to them for just 50p more. Although the place isn't really expensive, they also have some bargains in their menu, which will definitely surprise you with their prices.
E. S. R.
The menu already contains everything you wished for when going out for brunch, but the daily specials are just mouthwatering and delicious. On top of that, the service is extremely warm and personal, making you feel truly at home. This is a highly recommended restaurant and I will be definitely coming back!
P. M.
Outstanding British food and warm hospitality from The Magnificent Ffiona and her team. Try the lamb, Kiev or fish cakes. Or really, just whatever she recommends.
The menu is freshly written on the board daily, the wine list is short, simple and of good quality - there's a match for everything.
Romance or business, celebration or just brunch. It's a highlight of my day when I know I have managed to get a reservation.
A. S.
This restaurant is made fun by Ffiona, a lady with fun and character. She knows her regular guests well and they come for that reason.
The food is so good you can smell it coming. Good hearty food with none of the pretentiousness did often covers up averageness in other areas.
I have been there many times over the last 20 years and never heard anybody say anything negative about the food, and with the people I know that's quite an achievement!
Not a place for young trendy millennials, and they don't try to be either. If you appreciate good food this is the place to go!
L.
Was ok and enjoyed it, but would not go back again. The owner and waitress were both lovely and quite nice to see the owner on the restaurant floor running everything.
The restaurant itself is quite small and there are a lot of communal tables , which is okay but make sure to reserve as it gets very busy.
Food was average, and I marked it down two stars mainly because it is wayyyy to expensive for what it is. Very similar prices to the Ivy on High Street Ken, but not even comparable in quality. Food presentation also needs improvement.
F. P.
Great brunch! Love the food in here. Could be busy though! Not your usual staff too. They are very friendly. They share a cheeky joke or two and they dont take notes of what you've ordered. Surprised the orders were right!
N. H.
Wonderful food in an family run restaurant. Owner/Hostess Ffiona explains every dish and interacts with the patrons as if you are family. The chef is her sister and expertly prepares delicious comfort food and extraordinary regional dishes. Visit and partake ASAP.
k. D.
The food here is so good, I loved the relaxed family atmosphere here. I would highly recommend Ffiona's for brunch with family or friends. I would also recommend booking a table before you go as this is a very popular place!
L. A.
If you like to have a perfect British breakfast, this is your place to go! The food is amazing (even for vegetarians) and the staff is super friendly. It's a small place, so make sure you book in advance, if possible.
K. C. F.
We went for brunch and the food was good but average. The french toast was nice but the pancakes were tasteless. The special was really overpriced for what it was. At one point the staff was very rude and rushed. Don't think we will go back anytime soon.
J. S.
This little restaurant is a true gem. It is a lovely family run business. The staff are very attentive and the food is as close as you can get to home cooking without being at home. If you are in Kensington, you must give this quaint little restaurant a visit and you will be very pleasantly surprised.
O. O.
Amazing place to have a proper English Breakfast. You would think is just the same old thing, but not only they make you feel like you are at a family place, but suddenly you remember how potatos should taste like. Fresh and high quality products. Worth the visit
T. D.
This is not a place to nip in for quick bite. This is your taste of London! If you are fortunate enough to be in Kensington, listen to the menu recommendations from this restaurant's vivacious owner. You will be very glad you did!!! Spend time, relax, and enjoy!
J. B.
This place is great. Unpretentious, friendly and a breath of fresh air in a city clouded with a lot of hit and miss eateries.
If you find the owner rude, I think you need to check yo self- she's friendly, its her place, let your hair down and remember you are in one of the few truly independent restaurants in London. If you want same ol service and cheap slop, get yourselves to a Jamie's Italian or Strada. Ya basic.
The kiev is the bomb, and the desserts are home made gems
D. K.
Every dish was perfectly prepared and so tasty We had the swordfish - my favorite, hake, and fish and chips. For starters we had the feta salad and duck pate and the chocolate gluten free cake for dessert. Delicious!
C. T.
A full English breakfast that actually had black pudding for a change! Harder to find than I'd care to admit.
Great coffee, charming service, solid breakfast overall.
Busy, and the seating lacks privacy or intimacy, but that's to be expected for such a small place in high demand.
H.
This place is great. Was a bit cramped, but staff made everything possible to get us seated. Waited only 10-15 Minutes or so and didn't have reservation. Food was really good and extremely quick. The staff is very nice. Only thing I feel it is a tiny bit pricey but not extreme.
Would go again
M. A.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Ffionas. The room was amazing and well kept and the breakfast was good. Earls Court tube station is conveniently close and there are lots of restaurants near by if you do not want to venture far in the evenings. Overall an excellent hotel.
J. D.
Ffiona's is my favorite place to eat in London. The food is fantastic. You will not leave disappointed or hungry. This is British food done perfectly. It's a cozy spot with a great atmosphere. Ffiona serves many of the tables herself, and it always seems like she's welcoming you into her home when you visit. If you're in Kensington, make plans to eat here.
D. S.
An excellent steak breakfast, lovely staff and vibe with a wide variety of options on the menu to suit all palates.
Traditional breakfasts with options including avocado, halloumi, chilli and many other things to really customise what you order.
A really enjoyable and rustic setting.
M. K.
Lovely experience. Great place, great food, family like atmosphere. If you want to enjoy a delicious and large english breakfast then this place is a must. It's a good idea to make a reservation as it gets packed for brunch.
J. O.
Came all the way from Fort Worth, Texas to enjoy this restaurant. Simply the best food we ate while in London. Simple dishes, and amazing flavor. Best chicken kiev and fish and chips we've ever had. Get the apple and blueberry crumple for dessert, and an espresso on the side. It made our day.
D. M.
Ffiona was really friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had! We were there for brunch but the dinner menu looked great too, would definitely go back.
K. G.
Definitely worth booking, but we were lucky to turn up for Sunday brunch and get a spot. Delicious specials on the day, large portions and friendly staff.
L. d.
Had a wonderful birthday brunch at Ffiona's. Not only is the meal perfect, but they are as lovely on the phone as they are in person. If you are a Londoner, or just visiting, you must try Sunday Brunch at Ffiona's at least once: it's a MUST! ...but remember to BOOK in Advance!!
D. P.
The food was prepared well. The pate was a bit disappointing. The chicken Kiev was a piece of fried chicken in a plate with a bland sauce. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't run back there if I had other options.
H. B.
Ffionas is my happy place. We visit every time we are in London. The food is made with love and you can taste it. It’s got a home cooked vibe that goes well with the warmth of the owner and staff. Ffionas pate is some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t get me started on the chicken Kiev, buttery garlic deliciousness! The desserts.... omg, I literally order them all when I go. Amazing!! I’ve read some of the reviews and the food is in fact phenomenal but if getting your bottom kissed pretentiously is more important than delicious food maybe this place isn’t for you.
E. D.
Turned up without a reservation. Despite being very busy, we were found a table and the service was good. The food was excellent, with generous portions and a great selection. While more expensive than other local establishments, the quality and service justify the additional cost. There is not a great deal of seating so to avoid disappointment, call and book in advance!
F. A.
A little on the pricey side but good quality food with generous portions. Great French toast and pancakes. They also do a mean Sunday roast. Run by a feisty lady from Liverpool.
G. B.
Great unique restaurant. The food is great and unique. The owner personally takes and serves orders. Snall place amd booking is a strong must. You will love the food ,;the atmosphere and the service
T. F.
Great food and well looked after. Bit miffed with the vegetable portions being priced separately though. Bulked up the bill a lot. Prices shown were for the meat part of the dinner only.
A. H.
Freaking fabulous. Any negative comments are just plain wrong. The chicken and leek pie, the chicken Kiev, and the pork chop. The bread and butter pudding. Ffiona's sets the bar way too high for other restaurants in the vicinity. We are here for the weekend, and arguing about whether or not we should eat here every day!
T. A.
The best English Breakfast I have had... an absolute treat!!
The atmosphere was great... almost didnt get a table since we didnt book in advance, so definitely call before and book a table! will definitely go back again
D. A.
Ffiona's is as good today as it was when it opening in the early 1990s, that's how long I've been going there. But without the larger than life Ffiona there wouldn't be a Ffiona's
C. S.
Excellent brunch! Authentic experience - the french toast was the best i've ever had - and i don't like french toast!! This is NOT a budget meal... but was a very memorable meal in a very charming space!
G. S.
Wow. We came from America on tour with a group of college students. We were all romanced by the food and Ms. Ffiona herself. She accommodated our groups (N=12) with easy and patience as we figured out the culinary possibilities. The prepared food and drink, along with a lively conversation with Ffiona was all a dinner delight. And don't make us tell you about the desserts. Wish we lived in London. This little gem in the rough would become our favorite place. Thanks for good food and a cultural experience for our students.
S. R.
Great food, great host!
E. T.
Delightful place for a brunch, lovely food. Will have to come back for dinner one day! Busy on weekend mornings but staff are lovely and make the effort to make space and time for you. Thanks!
A. F.
Good place. We had a rough start, a bad first impression, but they made up for it with good food. Loved the porridge. Quite tasty. Felt quite British and dapper.
S. T.
Fiona’s is an absolute delight, tucked away in a Kensington side street, it’s like stepping into the hosts front room. The food and wine are excellent. I can’t wait to return.
L. H.
The brunch was decent but rather expensive. The atmosphere isn't great - the tables are extremely close to each other and the moment you finish your last bite, you receive the bill, which I found a bit rude
S. W.
Great restaurant at our doorstep. Serves all British Classic and great desserts. Must try the Apple Crumble with pouring cream!
Brunch is also very good!

The orange night was being slowly replaced with a grey morning, a different grey to usual. Jack noticed it first then Ellen, the sun was almost shining, the blurred whiteness behind the curtain of cloud was mesmerising, they both stared up to the horizon, hands shielding their eyes as they did, in awe of the glow from behind the clouds.
The breaking light made everywhere look like a black and white movie, like the sun had drawn all the colour out of the world, leaving a greyscale imprint behind. The semi illuminated French countryside looked almost inviting as the grey light worked itself across the fields, uncovering trees that were hidden in the darkness and finally they could see where they were headed, The Rovelli institute
Parking was a little awkward

Ffiona’s is a lovely neighbourhood restaurant in Kensington slash Notting Hill. Tucked away on Kensington Church Street, hearty would be a pretty accurate description of the menu here. It includes classics like steak and kidney pie, roast Welsh lamb, her famous Chicken Kievs, fish pie and apple and blueberry crumble. Cosy in winter and serving refreshingly light dishes in the summer, it's a the kind of place you go to catch up with old buddies.
As legend goes on one occasion a loved up suitor decided to propose to his girlfriend at an intimate table near the back of the restaurant. Unfortunately he dropped the ring in his soup. The moment was saved by Ffiona fishing out the ring with a fork and dousing it with gin and tonic. Specialists in salvage as well as sausages.
And so to brunch - a particular strength. Despite being around for 15 years, the brunch menu at Ffiona’s is actually pretty new. But it’s pretty awesome too. It’s an Anglo-American affair (Mary Elgin recommends the blueberry pancakes and a sensational Bloody Mary), but all very wholesome and the finest ingredients. It’s local and friendly feeling, with a musical overtone, all wood, chalk and chirpy chat. Easy to miss, hard to forget – if you’ll excuse the fromage…
They are also probably fairly unique in having turned away Madonna when they were too full. Respect for sticking to their guns.
Thanks for the tip off: Mary Elgin

Small and comfortable place. I came here first in 2004. Chiken Kiev and apple crumble are lovely now as they used to be then.
T. S. L.
Ffiona has concentrated on providing top notch British home-cooked meals, more specifically, the ones you don’t have the time or patience to make yourself. Organic ingredients all cooked on the premises go into making traditional dishes including homemade stake and kidney pie, the infamous 7oz piece of cod making the centre piece of the fish and chips and veggie options such as parsnip and green chilly fritters (lightly fried then grilled)...

My wife and I can't say enough good things about Ffiona's! We've eaten at lots of great restaurants, but this place is something special time after time. Ffiona serves the most amazing chicken kiev or fish and chips you've ever tasted. Both are so absurdly delicious that you'll wonder about the deal that Ffiona must have made with the devil. Tell your friends about Ffiona's and I guarantee that they'll thank you profusely!
G. O.
Huge fan of this place - we've been four times now and have never been disappointed. I particularly recommend the pancakes - a bonus is they are gluten free but they taste amazing!
A. N.
Ffionas is ALWAYS a delicious feast. Fiona herself is the backbone of the places and i love speaking to her, a wonderful character. It's seasonal & a real British institution. Not many restaurants last for over 20 years, there's a reason why.
J. w.
The sticky toffee pudding is worth the visit itself! Highly recommend
L. D. S.
Cute home-feel little place. Great lady taking your orders and awesome food! Large variety for brunch, lunch & dinner. Make sure you make your reservation !
P. C. (.
One of our favorites in Kensington! Must-haves are the home made duck pate as starter, the chicken kiev as main course and finish it off with London's best chocolate mousse. All in a candlelit, cosy atmosfere - no wonder Ffiona knows her customers on a first name basis! And it's a dog friendly place too!
g. b.
Walked in on a busy Sunday without realizing we ought to have made a reservation, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, made me feel very at home. The brunch was excellent with a lot of options.
p. l.
The best breakfast in London. Very friendly staff, incredible food and the french toast is to die for!
N. X.
Table of 4 & we were all happy with the food and service! Small cozy spot for coffee & brunch 💫
D. B.
So nice! Super friendly, attentive, and fun. Food selection and drinks selection is mouth watering. Food was delicious. Cosy place with relaxed atmosphere in very nice London street.
K. C.
Nice food, good ambience. You really need to book in advance if you want a table, seems to be a hit with the locals. Quite costly, but worth it!
D.
The fruit toast is amazing!! Great little spot for brunch with a homey atmosphere. Took one star because I found it quite expensive
G. N.
Great atmosphere; staple brunch favourites with some new innovative twists. Friendly staff; reasonable prices.
S. H.
Nice food and friendly staff although we had to ask for things multiple times and the same song was on repeat for an hour (BeeGees you should be dancing 🕺)
5.
Ok, great food, ambience and staff. Highly recommend this place but don't tell to many, as it may be difficult to get a table there.
L. E.
Fairly good restaurant. Tasty food although expensive for what you’re getting. Service was indifferent, maybe a little arrogant, I probably wouldn’t go back.
C. H.
Didn't know what Chicken Kiev was, then I had it, and Ffiona's is definitely the best in the world. Great drinks, incredible staff.
k. d. v.
Fun restaurant. The owner is fantastic. The fish and chips were great, wine fantastic, and dessert incredible.
H. H.

Best eggs royale I have had in London. Family restaurant with friendly service. Totally recommend!
c. l.
Decent food, would recommend pate, chicken kiev, fish and chips and crumble for dessert. Cute, cosy little restaurant.
S. K.
Found this on Google on a trip to London for the weekend. Was not disappointed and had the nicest Eggs Benedict I've had in a very long time
T. M.
Seems like a lot of locals. The service was very personal and made us feel part of the family. Food was unpretentious and outstanding.
A. B.
The service was normal. But the food was overpriced even for this area, and definitely for the quality. Unfortunately, the chicken kiev is definitely not the best in the world.
R. N. C.
Cosy place with relaxed atmosphere in the very pretty Kensington! Great Brunch and cocktails! Excellent service!
C. C.
Really friendly staff and good food
S. R.
Thus far, in the 7 months I've been here, the Welsh lamb (medium-rare) was the best entrée I've had in London.

R. B.
Best place for British classics. Friendly staff, incredible atmosphere. Been coming here for years and never disappointed.

Good food, too crowded. Was requested to leave, seems like reservation is only for 1 hour

Good food and great service, but space feels a bit small/old.

(Translated) My husband absolutely wanted to eat chicken Kiev and I followed him hoping to find a minimum even for me who is vegan. Well the evening couldn't have gone better. The cozy place. The very kind hostess and also the staff.
In addition to the food that satisfied my husband, I had a great time because I found that they also have a vegan menu. Our experience has been positive and I recommend it to everyone.

(Translated) Great
Very good restaurant with exceptional cuisine and mainly the fish and chips and especially their desserts such as pudding or crumble which are both delicious. The setting is small by candlelight. On the other hand, expect a little waiting because there is only one waitress but she is very friendly and she comes to your table to tell you the menu and what she advises you.

Super
