We ate at the restaurant (which is a novelty these days) and enjoyed great, quick, friendly service. Our server knew all the allergens on the menu but personally went to speak to the chef before we ordered. The food was delicious, restaurant was clean. Will definitely be returning soon 👌

Would highly recommend. A really lovely Indian restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious and not greasy or too oily. Loads of choice for vegetarian & vegan. We had a lovely meal, with excellent service from the staff who are keen to help you find the best dishes for you on the menu. Very reasonably priced. It is BYOB with £1.50 corkage per head - head next door to the off lincense which has a fab selection of wines and beer.

I've been coming back to Forest Tandoori for years now and it's never deviated in terms it's high quality food and great service. Some stand out dishes on this year's visit were the tandoori chicken wings, king prawn puri, and garlic chili dish (some of which are pictured below). You can bring your own booze from the off license next door and the corkage fee is very reasonable. I'm very much looking forward to returning next year!

Authentic food and an excellent service! I would highly recommend coming here. They have a range of dishes to choose from and a variety of authentic tastes. There is something for everyone from mild dishes to very hot. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the service is prompt. It only took about five minutes for my food to arrive. I will definitely be coming back!

Really good service and friendly waiter! Bring your own booze was really cool, they even offered to refrigerate it for us. I ordered a Sylheti Naga with King prawns, not sure how distinct it was from the others but it was really tasty! All the side dishes were great Would recommend

This is an excellent Indian restaurant. Indian is our favorite cuisine and this restaurant was highly recommended by a local. We were not disappointed. The new young owner - Khan, is impressive and enthusiastic about his restaurant. He has modernized the interior which is clean, uncluttered and welcoming. The food was equally impressive and delicious. He said they only use the best quality ingredients which is why their prices are slightly higher than others. I can attest that the chicken breast meat was fresh and juicy and the vegetables and spices perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I had the chicken jalfrezi and my companions had the chicken tikka masala and garlic chili chicken which Khan had recommended. The daal and the garlic naan were to die for. Khan insisted on cooking us his specialty vegetable samosa as a parting gift which we took out with us along with the leftovers of the very generous portions. My only regret is that this restaurant is several 1000 miles from where I live. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Moved to Walthamstow a year ago and this is easily the best Indian I’ve tried (gone through quite a few different restaurants to find a good one). This is the only place that does a proper onion bhaji, and the mains are incredible. Probably better than my old locals in north London too. Wont even bother trying other new Indian restaurants in the area anymore.

Classic Tandoori Experience Firstly: pulled the cork on a blinding bottle of Soplo - great accompaniment (my own choice). Consider a deep Spanish red where poss. Bhajis’ were fab - good support on spice from the lime pickle. Convinced the Missus to look into the Chicken Shashlik Masala - she wasn’t disappointed, and the addition of garlic added a sweet and uplifting note. I went for the Chicken Tikka Madras - a fairly typical shout for moi, but this one was on the extreme side as a result of the Naga chilli - Christ! I’m always up for heat / spice - but not for faint of heart. Sundries on point - very garlicky Na’an - good balance of crispy / bubbly. Rice was enough for two to share a portion. Verdict: great local tandoori, service were very attentive and had a good sense of humour. Thoroughly recommend - going to get a swift one in the Dukes now ;-)

A true gem in the heart of Walthamstow, I can’t recommend this place enough. The tandoori wings were incredible and I have to say the chilli garlic chicken was out of this world. Staff were very friendly and respectful of boundaries. I think I can say this place could be up there with restaurants to visit on my death bed (if I’m not bedbound). We love Forest Tandoori! The food is excellent - whether in the restaurant, or delivered as a take-away. It is delicious tasty food - with every dish having a distinct flavour. Everything from the Tandoor oven is great - the breads as well as the meats. They are lovely and cheerful - and the food is tremendously good value. Our first choice for a delivery.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant in Walthamstow, which has been the case for many years as the food is excellent, whether you are into traditional menu items or perfectly cooked Bangla specialties. Our go to Indian takeaway! My partner has been coming here for years, they are excellent at working around his aversion to coriander, can order with confidence knowing there won't be a sly sprinkling on dishes! Can highly recommend the saag paneer.

My husband and I had our Wedding Reception here last Friday and we were so glad we chose Forest Tandoori ! Mr Khan and his lovely wife were so friendly and welcoming from the start and helped us plan our day. We had a mouth watering selection of dishes for our guests on the day , for a very reasonable price. There is only a small corkage fee for bringing your own alcohol which is great. Small restaurant, with a very modern style that less reflect the Indian cuisine they serve and which you may guess only from the name of the place. The first restaurant ever where I've seen an invite to bring your own alcohol drinks without a problem. Ordered a lamb dish with spinach inside and a day paneer (which here was reported as sag poneer, guess because of the particular region from where they came from). Lamb was tender, spicy in the right way, not salty and greasy like many others I tasted elsewhere. Spinach were a bit too "creamy" and encountered less my taste. Overall a nice dinner, with a gentle waiter. Toilets are clean.

We visited Forest Tandoori for the first time yesterday, despite having lived nearby for over 5 years! I regret not having gone sooner. The food was really delicious - we couldn't fault any of the dishes. The staff were true gents, too, and even offered me a rose after my meal. Nice touch!
