Reviews of Four Seasons

I think this place has the most amazing crispy and aromatic duck you can try in London. I think that it is a little bit overpriced but worth it. Try also the two meat and rice combo that for me reminds the years in the university. A must
M. S.
Been here a few times, always order the roasted duck or sometimes the aromatic duck. One thing that I think is underrated is the crispy chili pork, I really like it!
H.
Best roast duck in Chinatown! Whole duck is better value than getting half portion. Best to get takeaway. Sauce is amazing.
H.
Went here after a night out and can honestly say the food was fantastic. I'm not normally a fan of Chinese food but this restaurant changed my mind. The food was delicious, I had prawn toast to start which was lovely. Then for my main the beef brisket which tasted divine. Will definitely go back here when in London this year.
A. M.
They got 4 restaurants in the same area of chinatown imagine how crowded this place is. They have opened for so long and has been popular for so long but i guess the hype is not real, They are just basic chinese food. Tried the duck too forgot to take photo but its okay too. Recommended to try though.

Very happy with the food from here. Crispy aromatic duck is a winner. Chilli wantans packed a huge punch. And one of the nicest mapo tofu I’ve tasted in a long while (heat perfectly balanced with salt). Greens were ok and Singapore fried noodles were a touch greasy. But this is great Cantonese food if you’re looking for a big feed.

Ate at the wardour St restaurant tonight and it was excellent ! Fast and friendly service and delicious food. We had half an aromatic duck between the two of us , followed by the crispy chilli beef , which was superb ! Would definitely return. A great find.
L.
Taste of home. Super fatty duck. 25 pounds for the entire duck. Got the 2 combination bbq meat platter as well. Garlic stir fry prawn was very little portions for 13 pounds. The rest of the dishes were super value for money. Service is fast and dishes were warm. 4 stars because chef at the chopping board not using gloves & prawn dish too expensive
G. L.
Extremely under-rated place. Full of people, mostly Chinese (very good sign!), so they don’t really need the extra traffic. Come here for the AMAZING FOOD, and NOT for the vibe or fancy interior design or top-tier service (which is not very bad, by the way). Also make sure you know beforehand what from the menu is worth ordering, because some choices may be risky. The traditional Cantonese Duck is a must-have. We also had sweet Cantonese style sizzling beef, which was exceptional. Most appetizers are also safe choices.

Very friendly and polite staff, I came here in the new year, I had 3 portions of food, the food never let me down. I really enjoy the food here, I simply want to say Thank you 4 season it a great restaurant to be in.
J. D.
Today we found this restaurant by default, left the cinema and we were trying to find a place to have some dumplings all restaurants were closing so we found one and we ordered for takeaway wow it was delicious!! Great quality and service.
We loved the prawn chilli dumplings, the peking dumplings and the soft shell crab, we will be back for sure to sit down, eat there and try many dishes. Thank you for a great friendly service.
H. A.
Definitely lived up to the name of being the best roast duck in the world. Other dishes in the menu can be really good too, although the quality may varies among the many outlets. If you must choose just one item from the menu, just go for the roast duck.
M. J.
Food was very salty but otherwise good. The plain noodles helped cover up the saltiness. The roasted pork was yummy. Be prepared to queue during peak dinner time. Remember to go inside the restaurant to register with the staff . All parties must be present before they admit you. Restaurant is rather big. It has 3 levels.
R. N.
Had dinner here last night. Amazing food (the best duck I have ever had!) and amazing friendly staff
M. G.
Came here because Jay Rayner said it was the best duck in Europe. For me, not the best duck in Europe - the skin could have been much crispier. However, the piece de resistance was the egg fried rice. Some of the most delicious egg fried rice I have ever had. Guys, the beers though - No where near cold enough, and the spring rolls. Child spring rolls. Nice service, but will not sadly return
C. C.
The roasted duck is absolutely amazing. The staff are friendly and efficient.
The food came quite quickly.
The place is extremely crowded so don't expect a fine dining experience.
A. H.
Had the roast duck, claypot tofu, beef brisket and morning glory with garlic and chilli. The duck was tender, although the sauce for the duck was a little on the salty side for my taste. Portion-wise, half a duck was enough for our party of 3. Overall, the food was decent by Western standards but as a resident of Singapore, the meal wasn’t amazing and could probably be quite easily matched in a Chinese restaurant back home. If you’re tired of Western cuisine and craving for some Chinese food, this joint could satisfy that.
M. W.
Succulent roast duck and delicious beef noodle soup in cold winter evening.Worth spending travel time and money, satisfied. Toilet needs more frequent cleaning.
M.
Roasted duck is the best, I like the greasy on the duck, it is perfect. I miss chinese food, the white rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chinese chilli, and then I decide come here. Beyond my expectation and reasonable price.
S. W.
Their Irish roast duck definitely lives up to their reputation 😋👍👍👍, the duck fat n skin is an experience to try even if you think you had the best roast duck elsewhere in the world. Their roast pork is not bad, skip the charsiew. Just order half a duck if you are eating alone, it's worth it 👍
J. G.
Not too crowded. The roast duck is quite fresh, although the skin could be more crisp. The fried rice was rather below expectations, but I'd definitely return for the roast duck. The BBQ pork (char siew) is worth a try as well.
V. J.
After being in Europe for over 2 weeks and having tried a couple of mediocre Chinese restaurants in France, it was so good to finally have a nice meal! Our friends in London recommended this place and said the duck was the signature dish. And it did not disappoint! The flavour was divine and it’s juicy. The restaurant decor is very old school, making us feeling very nostalgic. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
D. S.
The foods were tasty and the service was OK. I guess most people come here for the duck and my cousin who was working at London told me he had to had a duck once an week here. The duck actually tasted good. However it is too exaggerated for you to claim you have the best roasted duck in the world and it is a little bit overpriced comparing to the same or even better quality duck anywhere in New York City. I believe people from Beijing or Nanjing, China will also totally agree with me. Overall this is one of the best Chinese restaurant in London and absolutely recommend.
W. F. L.
Ordered 3 meat combo of roast duck, soya chicken and roast port belly, as well as spinich. Found the duck and roast pork very fatty and oozing oil. The soy source over the meats was too salty and too much. The spinich taste somewhat raw. The rice was expensive.
H. P.
Great option for roast duck and/or pork. The space is spread over three levels and can feel a little cramped, but the service is fast and efficient. Most people come for roast meat, but the lobster is worth it (even if it's a little pricey)
P. T.
Delicious - best place you could go on a cold wintery evening!
B. Y. C.
Good duck and food. They also charge 50p for each take away box you ask for. That’s one way to encourage food waste.
D. M.
Four Seasons is a small and cozy restaurant in Chinatown. Going to Four Seasons is like being transported to China by the opening of a door.
Despite being cozy, one should not expect any type of luxury. Simple but effective decoration, quite polite but efficient staff, the goal is to have you properly served and happy as soon as possible, but keeping in mind that the faster you leave the table the faster a new customer will have a seat.
The menu is what one would expect from a Chinese restaurant. However, there is s small tip: do not go for the roasted combo's: it's not that much food and since the meats where cooked at different times you'll notice that some pieces are clearly better than others. So, go for the Roasted Duck instead: the portion is quite big and delicious (way better than the pork belly or spare ribs). The rice does the job. Alongside this I also had some chinese cabbage fried in garlic. Once again, a big portion, tasty but a bit on the raw side, at least for me, I like cabbage to be quite tender.
All in all, Four Seasons is a nice restaurant to go if you want to eat something tasty fast.
G.
Very fast food service Chinese, go for their roasted duck if you’re here. Fairly average quality.
P. A.
Still the best chinese restaurant in London. Excellent all round, especially the crispy duck and pork belly. Protip: make sure you go to the original restaurant - the door on the left.
M. Y.
3 outlets in Chinatown. Visited during early Mar (Convid-19) period, it was raining, hence no crowd and lesser tourist. Huge portion good for sharing and nice Chinese food. Slightly pricey and fatty for SG standard. Overall worth a try but not 2nd visit. Service was average even though is Low period and no crowd at all. Recommend to go dinner at 5-6pm.
W. H.
A Must-try roast duck!!! Im not a fan of roast duck and I can say the roast duck is good. The rest of our orders were very standard for me. The place is small and always crowded - service is fast but can be quite rude (we were somehow rushed).
K. A.
Not bad. Pretty decent roast duck. Price is comparable to other restaurants. It's in London!
J. P.
Best for roast duck and rice. Not convinced with the other dishes on the menu. Service can be a little hit and miss as is the case with many of these Cantonese places.
S. C.
Roast duck was really good but can’t say the same for the char siew/bbq pork - which was tough, dry and lacking in flavor. We also ordered the house special ‘pei pa’ beancurd which had a really odd texture - we do not recommend it at all. Plain rice costed us £2.50 a portion, which is just plain ridiculous... it’s not even of good quality.
B. N. T.
Only came here for the roasted duck! It deserves 5 stars!!! We also ordered sweet sour chicken. it was nice too. It would be better to call and make reservation before going.
J. W.
Pretty basic, rustic restaurant with great tasting food and great service. There are so many restaurants in China Town that you could visit. Would definitely recommend this one.
J. W.
Everyone raves about this place and I can see why - their duck. Their fat, oily, fragrant, tender, juicy, salty, lips smacking duck. You might wish to get some tea or rice to wash down the saltiness but all good. Tip: it tastes even better after a day or so!!
I. C.
I still tell every soul that I know to avoid Four Seasons and go to Gold Mine. I only visited because it's convenient. But to be honest their duck is not much difference with the rest of the Chinese joints at Chinatown. If I had to queue for this place for more than 10 minutes I probably would not even go. The duck skin is not wee bit crispy, just basically fat and succulent. But really nothing special at all.
Staffs are known to be the most unfriendly ones - well you can't expect anything much from a high turnover rate place where staffs are just so busy till they can't breathe. You are expected to leave when you are done because there’s always a queue. Staffs will slam the bill on your table once you are done without you asking. Look at a diff perspective it’s called efficient. Sadly that's how it works.
S. W.
Been here for its well-known name. 4 stars for reasonable price and 3 for the food that is not fancy for our Asian taste. However, it could relief our homesick. Pampering table service is not their style of serving. Open for lunch till late.
R. U.
Really good and original kitchen. It is worth going there with friends because you can share food and have a chance to try more dishes.
V. O.
Good juicy roasted duck with crispy roasted pork, Seating is a bit tight, Tables are very packed toghther. Every main comes with a serving of oranges at end of the meal
C. L.
Visited - 03/09/18
Atmosphere - quite noisy, tables close together (especially downstairs), sometimes have to queue (shorter wait for takeaways),
Food - duck noodle soup served hot, duck was soft and not too oily, seasoning on duck complements mildly flavoured soup; ~£9
Service - rushed a bit by waiting staff but food served on time
O. C.
This was recommended and it didnt disappoint. The food was delicious. Really fresh and tasty. It was busy too which is always a good sign.
C. C.
Typical Chinese restaurant ambience. Tired the 3 meat rice dish. Siew yuk (average), char siew (tasty) and roast duck (tasty). Sadly the vegetables that came with it made it an odd combination. Plus there was no chilli sauce suitable for it
A. P.
This is r famous restaurant for duck. Bought roasted duck from here many times during Covid times, and it’s the best one so far, in London plus a very good price.
A duck it’s about 30 pounds if you collect it yourself. So much work for this dish and taste amazing! Definitely recommend!
J. C.
Excellent Roast Duck (boneless), the skin was still crispy, cant taste that in Hong Kong, recommended one of the must have dishes in China Town London
F. C.
A popular place for roasted duck in London. They now have 2 shops in Chinatown, London on top of the original shop in Bayswater, London. The quality can match those popular roasted duck in Hong Kong. Tender and juicy. They offer many other tasty dishes too. Queue is expected during meal hours. Try to avoid these times if you don't want to queue for a meal.
H. S. M.
Restaurant 'Four Seasons' in London's Chinatown has the best roast duck cantonese style (I prefer it on the bone) in the world according to The Financial Times. I agree.
Y. C.
Even as a Chinese I can’t really fault their dishes (the ones I’ve tried at least) Their 3 roast rice is my all time favourite, the meats are always done well and flavoursome, amazing price for the huge portion, always satisfies my picky pallet and makes me feel homey!
J. J.
Roasted duck is delicious, love it. Rice is also good but expensive which is around 4 GBP per person.
J. P.
Roast duck is excellent. Pigs stomach soup is yummy. The other dishes are fairly good too.
Just don’t expect good service and be warned that the toilets are filthy.
J. C.
Excellent roast duck. It’s Hong Kong style not Peking. Great sides as well. Fairly priced and large portions.
I. W.
Was surprised with the quality….I typically ordered the same food anywhere…their green veg w oyster sauce suit my taste better than Gold Mine….
S. C.
One of the best roast meats in Chinatown and I also love their fujian fried rice.
N. M.
My favourite Chinese restaurant. The food is tasty, simple decor, tables with white table cloth.
M. Y. N.
Still relatively decent roast pork and duck, although not as amazing as it used to be. Good place for a quick, no frills lunch or dinner.
B. S.
Very good Chinese food, the triple BBQ is tasty (roast pork, bbq pork and roast duck), the Chinese broccoli with garlic is simple but good (hard to get greens here while on the island)
K. C. S.
Good chinese cuisine with good roast and Crispy Duck .Friendly service.
B. G.
Very good food, very friendly atmosphere. It is good to check a bill, in case of misunderstandings especially when you speak like a "tourist"
L. F.
I always just get takeout instead of eating in. There's no ambience to dining in but do come for a quick eat and go if u really have to. Not at all child/baby/toddler friendly. As usual, staff in Chinese restaurant are never pleasant, courteous or friendly.
G.
After hearing all the fuss I had to try the duck. Its not cheap but man it's really good. I would definitely recommend it.
C. L.
Really lovely Cantonese dishes, especially roast duck, amazing.
j. m.
Simple love it. Our regular place had closed down so tried this location.
This is our new Chinese restaurant for town.
Great service and food.
A. W.
We always make a pitstop here when we are in London. The roast duck is tender and juicy, and we love the gravy it come dripping in.
Q. L.
One of the best crispy duck and charsiu pork dishes ☺️ Also, the pak choi was really tasty ☺️
J. C.
Delicious roast duck and chasiu. Authentic Cantonese food, nothing fancy.
P. S.
Roast duck is tender , sweet and juicy
skin is so crispy
K. S.
Great food. Best duck and roast pork! Service is good for Chinese up in town. When I was much younger, I worked in quite a few Chinese and Thai restaurants, so can be quite critical. You'll notice quite a few natives eating in there, which usually is a good sign. Would recommend any of the Four Seasons :P
L. Q.
Really tasty food. Came in big portions. I enjoy the duck the most.
L. T.
Pretty good and authentic Cantonese food! Try the 3 meats (crispy roasted pork belly, duck and red-roasted pork).
d.
Went for lunch with a friend and the food was lovely (aside from crispy beef which turned chewy.) The service was standard for a Chinese restaurant, very hands off and limited. Our food came at different times which was slightly annoying but expected, as Chinese service is different to Western style service.
Main fault was with our server who pressured us to pay a discretionary service charge which ruined the meal for both of us as we were uncomfortable. Started talking about us in Chinese and kissing her teeth as we were leaving because we refused to pay it and left a cash tip instead.
Also find it a bit ridiculous that we were charged 50p for boxes to take our leftover food home in as this has never happened in any Chinese restaurant I’ve been in. Would recommend for the food but not for the service.
I have also come on a separate occasion to buy a roast duck which was ridiculously expensive for £25 and it turned out to be old and dry. Wouldn’t recommend buying roast duck from here.
L. H.
As a Chinese living in Australia, I have eaten Cantonese Roast Duck for so many times. The roast duck from this restaurant is definitely best I had so far. The duck meat is quite tender and juicy, the skins were quite crispy. I felt so good having such a good dinner after travelling so far.
N. H.
Most of the things I've ordered in here over the years are pretty so-so, with a special shout-out to the prawn dumplings, which are nice and plump and inviting....but lord that tender roast duck smothered in delicious umami goodness is the one. You'd have to be loopy not to order it.
L. D.
Best Cantonese duck ever! A must try!
S. N.
Fairly priced for London standards, fast service, accommodating staff who remember customers (and no, not just the Asian ones). Roast meats are comparable in quality and portion sizing to those available in Hong Kong.
J. L.
Nice food. Good selection to choose from. It's a little tight on space but it's all part of the experience. The duck was particularly nice. This is definetly one of the better restaurants in China Town.
K. N.
Busy, busy place for lunch. Tight seating. Roast duck was good, but probably not as good as it once was.
E. A.
Very good food. The duck pancakes, crispy beef and sweet and sour were all really good. The tables are a bit too close together and it's not a place you go for the exceptional service but the food was really nice.
M. C.
The famous duck lived up to expectations, it's marinade before roasting and served on a bed of soya oil that was superb. Regular dishes are OK, good for its version that is toned down a little for western appetites.
K. D.
Every time I am in London this place deserves a visit. :)
S. H.
The food at the restaurant was quite good, especially the Cantonese style roasted duck. However, the space is so crowded with tables that it makes it hard to enjoy the food. The owners seem to have put the maximum amount of tables possible to maximise profit that the restaurant becomes very loud and claustrophobic.
A. S.
We bought the whole duck and it was absolutely delicious. Meat was tender and the plum sauce that comes with it was so tasty! We had the whole duck for three people and we were so full. Definitely don't regret coming there to try it! Thank you
B. L.
อร่อย. Delicious. Same taste as in Bangkok
M. S.
Roast duck and double cooked pork belly - not to be missed!
D. K.
Always very satisfied when eating here. A foody friend recommended this place a while ago and its always delivered delicious generous portions. Great duck and pork belly, as is the salt and pepper squid! One of our favourite places in China Town!
A. U.
This is our regular place every time we visit London. Roasted duck and crispy pork are my favorite. Open at noon. There are two restaurants in the China Town. Try to be early before the peak time would be good otherwise prepare for the queues
M.
Too many reviews praise food and condemn service here. We found the opposite is true. The food is good but not great. It is still the place to go to if you want to eat duck and other dishes. But we got good service here. We took a little long time to order and the waitress is very patient with us. They filled our tea and rice contantly. Probably because it was not crowded at 3 pm.
A. F.
Great Chinese duck, both Pechinese style as starter (cold, to be eaten with pancakes) and fantastic in Cantonese style (fat and juicy). If you want Chinese duck at very good value, this is your place. Service is a bit rough, though. I really recommend, I came back here many times, never disappointed. Wine list has also some very cheap option, for London.
D. S.
Quite honestly in my price/quality algorithm this is the best Chinese restaurant I have eaten in. And I’ve eaten in a lot. #AbombInWardourStreet
S. R.
Place was freezing, staff were rude, but who cares -- the food was the greatest Asian food I've ever tried. I recommend the duck - it made my eyes water from how good it was! The food made it all worth it, would definitely go back there.
B. C.
Excellent food and made me feel like I was back in Asia. The food arrives quite fast after ordering, so do the beers and the staff always seem busy but helpful nonetheless.
Beware you'll have to queue up to get a table, as they don't allow bookings. However the queue normally moves quite fast.
R. A.
We ordered about 5 menus and we were completely happy. Long lines, so be sure to be there early. Service is pretty basic, but hey, you get what you paid for. If you're looking for authentic & delicious Chinese cuisine, there's no better place.
J. C.
Their Roasted duck and Roasted pork are even better then what you would generally have in Asia, staff service is among the best in London Chinatown. A must visit if one is visiting London for the food. Asian approved.
J. C.
Food and service were on point. Little but pricey for Chinese food, but it was very tasty. We ordered the crispy duck, crispy pork and char siu pork, efficient I would recommend. Service was good, better than your average Chinese restaurant.
A. A.
Service is not very good. But the duck and mapo tofu is very worth it. Will order a roasted meat rice or char siew rice next time, will be more value for money than ordering steamed rice.
L. S.
Nice Cantonese Chinese restaurant. Just a bit too crowded.
A. B.
Great and authentic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Amazing service and honest prices
R.
Best duck in London and my favourite Chinese after over 20 years of living here. Try the roast duck, the ho fun noodles with beef and black bean sauce but avoid vegetables - the meat dishes are much better value. Rustom recommends!
A.
The duck was amazing! I loved it and would go back for it.
The service wasn't good at all. The waiter had quite an attitude. Maybe he just had a long day and was tired.
Sorry for the poor photo. The moment the rest of the arrived, everyone dug in so there was no time haha.
P. P.
Average well priced for area chinese restaurant with good service. Rice portions serve 2
A. J.
Pretty decent Chinese with typically bizarre Chinatown service. The FT called the duck the "best in the world" which strikes me as somewhat hyperbolic but it was decent. At the pricier end of the budget options in the area at £25-30 per head for a modest meal plus drink.
Z. L. N.
Delicious soy sauce roast chicken, but maybe a bit priced. Worth it.
S. J.
been here for our first beijing duck course!! so excited, no need to make a reservation in advance of 48hrs.. initial plan of ours was A.Wong near Victoria station but that exquisite personality of restaurant put us off to Four Seasons. so family oriented atmosphere and cozy, foods were very delicious as well! could pay more.
C. W.
Service was really bad and very Chinese-ish. But I only had to wait 5 minutes or so for a table for 1p.
The duck looked amazing already from the window so I just had to order it. It was really good, but the portion was quite small and came on rice (which was in abundance). I also ordered a wonton soup which was tiny and only contained 4 wontons. The wontons were great in taste, but the broth was nothing special at all.
I think that there must me other restaurants with better service and larger portions, but the taste of the duck was really good, I'll have to give them that.
E. B.
We came on 17th Augustus in this restaurant to prove the special roasted duck. This is the first Chinese restaurant in the Chinatown we visit. The tables are narrow, not comfortable if you come with many and if you sit upstairs on the second floor. We are satisfied with the roasted duck, others meals were o.k. but not so special. Steamed white rice is overpriced, for 4 persons we paid almost GBP 16! It was not included as we are accustomed to in Chinese restaurant. So food is okay, but horrible customer service and they also include a 12.5% gratuity in the bill! As others say they don't need to treat you well because how was the service you already paid for it! If you come for the Chinese (duck) food I can recommend this but do not expect more than that. You will pay more for some normal things like steamed rice and drinking.
A.
Really good food! Beancurd is top quality!
c.
Shabby little overcrowded place but love the crispy duck, roast pork and chinese veg. Been here a number of times and never had a bad meal (though my order never changes...)
N. W.
The line was very long and there was no system. The used tablecloths were left at the entrance, giving the restaurant a unclean look. The waitress that took our orders was rude and unhelpful. Otherwise, the food is okay. The roasted duck that we ordered was very fatty but worth the price. The plain rice was way overpriced.
G. W.
Good quality of food and staffs, the best menu is roasted duck, which is the best in among chinese restaurants from Beijing, it's sweet, fragrant, and tasty. I always cannot stop myself from stepping into this restaurant (Directly from China).
E. D.
The place is definitely not the coziest, and you will always have to queue for some while, it's usually crowded. But it won't matter, they have really good duck, or pork belly, among others. You can order a lot of different dishes, but don't forget the duck!!
L. F.
So far this is my favourite place in Chinatown. I usually order their fried rice and honey bbq glazed pepper pork (found in their special menu). Both dishes are delicious, but the pork is really a must for every person that loves honey bbq glazin. The only flaw is that the staff tries to place people downstairs which is not that nice, I would recommend when you ask for a table to specify you want to be on the same floor as the entrance.
M. d. V.
Best duck i ever eaten. I will come back again. That i promised myself :)
V. P.
The best crispy duck I have ever tasted! Melted in your mouth. Excellent service from friendly, attentive staff. A new entry on the “must do” list whenever I next visit the capital!
M. K.
Best chinese restaurant in China Town! The Cantonese style duck is their specialty, never disappoints after a night out! Sizzling beef is always very well cooked and so tasty!
B. V.
Really amazing food. It is a little cramped and they kind of push you to leave after you are done eating, so it is far from ideal for a long relaxed session with friends you haven't caught up in a while. But again the food is worth it. Also make sure that the whole party is there if you want ot be considered for a table. Again the food is totally worth it. Will be going back.
D. T.
Cramped space but worth eating here if you fancy roast duck (their speciality). Dishes are served in good portions and there is a great selection. Better than other places I tried out in Chinatown.
C.
Certainly one of the best place for Cantonese roasts. Unfortunately, prices of takeaway meats has increased a bit, but hard times for businesses atm
S. S.
Staff was friendly. The london duck was delicious
Y. W.
One of the best roast duck ever, the sauce is what make the taste that never been tasted anywhere before. Restaurant is slightly small and crowded and sometime the wait can be pretty long but it is worth it.
D. B.
The food here is good but not amazing, I had roasted duck with special fried rice for my main, the duck was a bit fatty then usual when i get duck at other chinese restaurants but the flavour was good and the special fried rice was nice.
L. S.
The rating I gave were for the food, it was very good . But there was a big sign in the entrance saying they were giving 20% discount but they actually don't practice it anymore, they only give 10% . How can a business do such a thing?
A. H.
Just sat over the street in Waxy's Little Sister bar observing the guy cleaning the duck racks, main window and threshold........ WOW ! If attention to detail is your thing then this place absolutely has it. First class job from where I'm sitting. Never eaten there thoigh, just sayin'........
T. T.
Great place to have roast duck or roast pork, probably one of the best in Chinatown. The service isn't the best but never had an issue so far, hence not full stars.
I. S. B.
Food was good but keep in mind that they want to scam you in every way possible. £13 for rice bowl! And an extra charge in the end of the bill for no idea what?! Also we were all of Chinese decent, so it's kinda hilarious
M. Z.
Reasonable food price and short waiting time. Both of my friends and I loved the crispy pork belly.
W. S.
The roast duck is very succulent. One of the best place for roast duck. Ordered lobster with ginger and chives, so so only
n. 6.
I was eating Roasted duck everyday when I was here.
L. W. E.
Outstanding food, horrible customer service and they include a 12.5% gratuity in bill... They don't need to treat you well because tip is included in the bill. The crispy duck is as epic as everyone says it is.
P.
Good food and friendly service.
A. K.
Well known for it's roasted duck which is a must try if you visit this place! Very juicy and full of flavour. Once you have the duck, you'll want to come back again for more!
S. G.
Good duck. Perhaps Thai bbasil and rosemary could optimize the recipe.
P. C.
I'm surprised at the bad reviews. I come here every year or so and the food and service are both good, plus a nice atmosphere. Wine selection is a bit limited, but what do you expect in Chinatown?
T. G.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Duck pancakes were very tasty as was the Peking dumplings! That with some ice cold Singha beer 🤩
J. R. T.
This is my go to place in Chinatown. Barbecued pork over egg fried rice is my favourite. So delicious! Staff were friendly and highly efficient too.
P. K.
Can not complain really, food was a little rushed as they are busy. But wicked BBQ pork, the crockery was a bit old and plasticy (is that a word) apart from that all good.
H. C.
The food was delicious and it provided much comfort after months of not having Chinese food. Highly recommend the roast meats! Highly recommend if looking for Chinese food in London.
B. N.
Very friendly. I can say we ate the Best meats all my life here. Juicy and soft meats. Thank you. We Will come back☺️
G. W. A.
The food is so Cantonese, and the service is also very Chinese. Good value you can find in China Town London anyway. Don't miss the duck and the squid! YUMM
P. H.
This is where you go for all kinds of delicious duck dishes, not luxurious environment ;)
D. T. W. 陳.
Service are slow and aggressive but food was great yet a little pricy. Recommend Roasted Duck Drumstick with HK Noodles and Wantan.
A. L.
Service was a bit up and down, but the food was great. Three roast meat plate was all killer and no gristle or bony filler. That's very rare.
S. K.
Chicken Chilli hot pot so nice!!
T. N.
I give 4stars because of the service. Very much the Chinese way of fast serving and not paying attention to details...
But the food was excellent! Highly recommend for a nice Chinese dinner/lunch!
W. S.
Which is provided the Chinese foods, the foods are better than in Hong Kong. Especially in Roasted duck (燒鴨) and meat (叉燒), the other foods are all in outstanding level.
K. “. L.
Famous for their roast duck. Worth giving a try.
C. T.
Love the food, everything we ordered was perfect. Prices average for the area with good portion size. Will definately go back.
v. T.
They are very famous with their roasted meats, always can see the queue outside the restaurant. Service is not the best as they are so busy, turnover is quick.
U. S.
Good Chinese food with acceptable price
M. M.
Their food is a bit hit and miss but when they do get it right it's the best in London. This is probably their best branch, been to the other one down the road. Doesn't quite match.
W. J. L.
Roast duck is still excellent but the service is rushed. Dessert (deep fried red bean pancake) was quite doughy.
E. Y.
The food was good but the staff are in a rush. They just took our plates the moment we finished our last bite, gave us oranges and placed the bill on our table without even asking us if were done and ready.
S. L.
You can tell this place is good when you see a queue outside the door despite the amount of places to eat in Chinatown. The beef in black bean sauce is highly recommended :)
T. D.
Great food and prices in a humble place.
A. K.
Came here before lockdown, the food is great, the taste and service are almost identical to the real Hong Kong restaurant.
P. T.
Always have a meal here when I go to Chinatown. The BBQ meat on display is what I usually have
S. A.
It was a nice restaurant almost like an actual Chinese restaurant in China cause it was small and was decorated as if it were in China and the food there tasted so delicious I had udon noodles with chicken and black bean sauce today and then for dessert I had toffee apples but it was different from the ones you usually have it was these balls which were crispy and sticky on the outside and had mashed apples and a slice of apple inside, absolutely delicious
L. R.
Good menu and reasonable price
Y. J.
A Cantonese/Hong Kong restaurant with a reasonably good-valued menu compared to other options in the neighbourhood. The cantonese barbecue (Char siu) is worthy of special mention.
H. C.
Best Roast Pork and Chicken Rice. the food is served quickly and you get a plate of oranges after the meal.
r. c.
Meat and rice, one of their specialty, saw a Chinese man order it and I asked for the same. Service isn't great but the food was. Would recommend
A. R.
Deserves a great shout out for good food. The sizzling Cantonese style beef and the egg fried rice were delicious
A. M.
BBQ Cantonese Duck was so good. We came back the following day.
s. h.
Very tasty duck as usual.
m. C.
Probably the best duck in London, but terrible terrible service. If you want the same duck in a less rushed environment, try the genting casino which serves the same duck!
B. S. P.
As usual great duck and food. Quite cramped to maximise the number of customers. Now there is a service charge of 12.5%.
V. V.
Great place to go to if you are looking for roast duck ! The service isn't the warmest, although if you are looking for great food, you will be pleased !
H. G.
The duck is one of the best I have tasted. The restaurant can get very crowded and noisy at times.
E. D.
Good and authentic Chinese cuisine, just a shame they were a bit stingy on the lobster otherwise would have given 5 stars.
A. L.
I had the duck with oil chicken rice is the best combination I always have! Yummy :D
b. s.
This restaurant does some of the best Chinese food in London. I particularly liked the duck.
M. L.
Best roast duck in London
O. C.
They are just freaking amazing authentic but innovative Cantonese food made of fresh picked ingredients I love them
F. S.
Relatively good chinese food, considering it's London. Service was horrible, space was elbow to elbow, and place wasn't that clean.
L. A.
The cantenonese style duck is tasty. The other like green veg's are also good.
D. G.
Roast duck Cantonese style has been my favourite dish for many years there, don't forget to try it!
V. W.
The duck in town but super dirty, WC r very bad, it's time to invest in your property as u wonder if place so dirty, how the kitchen look like.
I. T.
Must get the boneless duck! They waiters are intimidating and hover over your table to see when they can kick you out.
B. K.
Best roast duck in London. Service terrible but typical of Chinatown restaurant.
S. G.
Cons - The portion of duck is lesser than gold mile and more costly.
Pros - the duck meat is more tender than gold mile.
K. G.
One of the best duck I had. The food is comparable even in Asia.
P. E.
Great food. And they even had some vegetarian dishes that were really good.
Z. S.
The roast pork belly and roast duck is always top notch!
O. M.
First time there and service sucks. Food was ok. Only plus was the soy sauce chicken was good.
C. L.
Crispy belly pork and roasted duck are good
P.
A smart small but efficient restaurant. Food was ok and price was fair. Service could have done with a smile!
K. S. A.
Their roast meats are probably the best in London but all their other dishes are average at best
A. M.
Amazing place! Food really tasty and the stuff súper nice! :)
R. M.
We keep going back for their crispy belly pork take away. The best we've had in London.
E. D.
Average Chinese restaurant, with OK food and grumpy service ( but still have the cheek to add 12.5% service charge to the bill)
K. Y.
As always, I love this place, but the queues and rude service can some times be jarring. But honestly, it's part of the charm! Welcome to Asia! Haha
R. S.
The best Chinese in China town. Service should not be pushed.
Five stars for food.
W. K. K.
They do serve good Cantonese food however I find the duck is overrated.
M. Y.
Bbq pork and duck are exceptional. Service on the friendly side for a Chinese restaurantL
S. T.
Food is good but price is more expensive than the other restaurant in China Town.
S. L.
Best Roast Duck in the UK!
J. P.
Very good food. Weak service. But that's kind of the gist of Chinatown isn't it?
R. G.
Amazing food especially the duck! Very simple decor and brusque service, but with it for the food!
J. S.
The rostered duck is a must eat dishes! Place is OK but the service still can be improve.
